Best mocha I’ve had. Not too sweet and lots of flavor. The savory French toast and carrot cake are my favorite food items. Servers have been so friendly and nice. Reasonably priced, and a beautiful area. The ONLY thing is it can get a little loud.

Proud Mary outside of Melbourne?! Yes please! Really wonder to find in Austin! Well worth the drive out of the downtown core. As always, superb roasts. Oh, and the avo toast is to die for.

Fave spot to do work. The staff is attentive and really care about their work. Don’t compare it to other coffee shops in Austin, it’s on another level. Geisha style is top notch and their list is carefully curated. You haven’t had coffee till you’ve gone to Proud Mary’s

J

Best coffee experience in Austin hands down. They treat coffee like fine wines. Not only that but the food is ridiculously delicious. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable too.

Great place. Well thought out and executed. Staff was top notch. I kept it simple and had drip coffee but you can find so much variety and quality coffee here. Juice was refreshing and not sweet - exactly what I was hoping for. Avocado toast with poached egg was delicious. I am visiting Austin and this was a great way to start the day.

Went here for breakfast this morning and was definitely the best breakfast we’ve had in Austin. We got the ricotta pancakes and the breakfast hash and both were very delicious! We liked the hash more though. The space is also very nice, but we had to sit outside which would have been unpleasant but the weather was nice. Also, they do not do anything for birthdays 👎

We stopped by for some coffee and had a great time. Loved the coffee ( had cappuccino and pour over). Excellent service. Such a lovely spot! This is going to be our go to coffee spot. We did not try the food but the menu looked great. We’ll be back for coffee and food soon!

Excellent breakfast and drinks- had the toast with eggs and it was simple yet perfect and not greasy as so many other places are sadly. The juice drinks were fresh and delicious and the turmeric chai was divine. Great atmosphere- didn't love the table we were at as I couldn't cross my legs due to the table apron but that's a personal thing and next time will just opt for a different spot to sit at. They have a great patio as well and the chicken sandwich was intriguing... will have to try that next time.

Amazing place that provides Austin residents and visitors with a genuine glimpse into Melbourne’s fabulous cafe culture. An unabashed temple to the humble coffee bean. Attracts and retains obsessives from all walks…

This was a really good meal, we had the breakfast burger (super tasty, and filling 10/10) the chicken sandwich (light, crunchy, and a huge portion 9/10) the ricotta hotcakes (basically like a apple crumble pancake hybrid 9/10) and the scrambled egg roti (while tasty, the pickled veggies were not my personal favorite 6/10) We got a few juices and coffees as well and those were delicious! The only downside was after ordering, we had to wait 40+ min before we got our food! But thankfully we had great company to have good conversation with while we waited

I can't say enough positive things about Proud Mary Coffee! We will definitely be visiting again. There is validated garage parking (super helpful on South Lamar), and the service was the highlight of the experience. We interacted with three standout waiters, all of whom were friendly, welcoming, and made sure we were happy. The food was wonderful, and THE COFFEE... We are huge coffee nerds, and the flavors were unlike anywhere else we've been in Austin so far! Excited to return and try more of their coffees in the future.

i love this place! i typically like my iced coffee more on the sweeter side & i might have found my favorite iced coffee! i got the aussie iced mocha, its a mocha of course with chocolate syrup at the bottom & the “creamer” for the coffee is a ball of vanilla ice cream that, as it melts, gives the coffee that creaminess & sweetness a regular coffee creamer would, i definitely recommend

v

One of the best coffee shops in Austin. The food - we loved the food here. We got the ricotta hotcakes and the eggs with roti. Both dishes were fantastic. The ricotta hotcakes were not too sweet and had fresh cream. The roti was freshly made and tasted great with the eggs. The scrambled eggs were a little spicy but we love spice. The drinks - we got the nitro coffee and the beers/ginger juice. We could not finish the nitro since it really amps you up. If your tired and need a pick me up - get the nitro..

Cool vibe, good service, and good food 😝. Their fries are salty but addicting

This place is crazy crowded and sometimes hard to get wait staffs attention but the coffee is the best in town! The avocado toast was amazing! I made it vegan by not having the egg! The latte was so so good.

I really loved this place. Got a DELICIOUS pour over flight w the BBQ prawn and slow cooked lamb burger. Everything was phenomenal , and cannot wait to come back. It is a little on the pricier side then we expected, BUT this feels like more of a restaurant than a coffee shop. We brought books and our laptop on a Sunday morning, and definitely did not end up pulling them out as they were insanely busy and it’s much more a restaurant vibe. Parking was easy, but have to pay.

I came twice here last week. Once on Sunday for dine in around 1:00 and again on Wednesday around 11:00. Sunday was packed and busy. The venue is bright and modern. I bought the San Roque espresso which was expertly dialed in. A syrupy texture and not too heavy on the body, but also sweet, stone fruity and complex. I also got a kimchi Ruben with hot sauce which was mouth watering, experimental, balanced with Asian, Western, umami, spicy, creamy, crunchy and soft textures and flavours. It may have made me fall in love with Rubens again. The fries were crisp, hot and perfectly salted. It was like eating fries from McDonald’s as a child but so much better. The hot sauce was creamy and unique. I would buy this hot sauce for my home if I could. Halfway through eating though I realised I didn’t have a napkin, and I couldn’t get the attention of one of the servers, so I just went to the bathroom. I did notice that the people around me had napkins, so I think they forgot to give that and cutlery to me. Once they did check up with me, they did give me some. Afterwards I ordered a flat white, and after a while the server came back and said she forgot what I ordered, which I reminded her of… both moments with the servers— with the napkins and the flat white— were honestly really small, especially considering how busy they were. I am curious though if there was a way to iron out those wrinkles… The servers made me overall feel seen, taken care of and gave good eye contact with me which I appreciated since I came alone. The flat white was superb. Bright and fruity with caramel flavours. Perfectly aerated. I felt like I was back in Australia. Side note: the table water that they give you tastes amazing. When a cafe or restaurant gives you great water, that shows how much they care about the details. On Wednesday, I went with some of my friends to buy beans along with take out coffees and pastries. I got another flat white, Costa Rica El Monte San Roque beans and a carrot cake. The flat white tasted more nutty, but still sweet and had a lovely body to it. The host who helped me get beans was very knowledgeable and kind. I’ve been using the Costa Rica for my pour overs at home and am always amazed by its unique and complex flavours. The carrot cake was innovative with a carrot purée in the centre and cream cheese icing and was a delicious compliment to my flatty… our drinks came out in a timely fashion and we left on very positive notes. Would highly recommend to anyone who loves good food and coffee

Overall, I love the food and vibes here. Usually you can expect a decent wait to sit and eat on weekends. Sometimes it feels a little rushed dining here (especially when there is a long line) or difficult to get a server’s attention. Overall, the drinks and food here are very good and I return for that. Their nitro snap chill coffee (see pictures below… yes it looks like a Guinness) and pourover coffees are both unique to Proud Mary’s here in austin. They also have a good selection of juices and non-coffee beverages. I would say the matcha latte here is above average for Austin.

Very excited for this addition to the Austin coffee scene. It is amazing, although not the experience I was expecting. I was expecting a true coffee shop but this is more of a restaurant-type experience with full table service. We didn’t plan on having a full brunch but we did. The coffee menu is emphasizes pour overs. (Is there anywhere else in Austin where they menu is built around pour overs?) If you’re looking for a long black, this is your place! I got a deluxe pour over which is a cool experience where you get to smell the coffee before they make your pour over. It was amazing coffee. We also tried the drip which was perfectly dialed in. The food is excellent. Potato hash was a full entree and was masterfully put together. At $18, it was more than I planned on eating and spending but it was fully worth it. I’m not sure how Proud Mary will fit into my daily routine with the way it’s setup as full service. You can of course get coffee to go but I’d only feel comfortable sitting at the bar or patio and ordering just a coffee. But I’ll be back because the coffee is too good.

Talal Ayman

I tried the one in Melbourne and loved it. I can say the same for here. I love their sausage rolls and flat whites. Good stuff. Ghost rider blend… superb Australian coffee scene in Austin. Need I say more? Interior is quite nice, and sitting at the bar is an experience. I always learn something about coffee every time I’m here.

He has been fully involved in the world of specialty coffee for about half a decade. And on my work visit to Austin after a long period of 4 years due to COVID, I was finally able to get to know Proud Mary's work; and I must say that its reputation is up to par and it fulfilled all my expectations. The place is spacious, the atmosphere is modern and pleasant, all the staff is very friendly and helpful to answer all your questions. The quality of the food and the desserts go hand in hand with the coffee they serve. I dare say they are one of the top 3 roasters in the United States. The information on the specialty coffee they serve includes even the smallest detail of traceability (farm, producer, type of bean, drying process, and coffee notes). It is a must visit for specialty coffee lovers.

What a perfect stop for coffee, will definitely be back and recommend!! Great location and the setting and ambience is unique. The menu is one of a kind with a great variety of dishes including many vegetarian options. But I must say the staff is what makes this place. Very welcoming, friendly and Amazing service. Thank you so much..

Coffee is absolutely incredible I work in coffee so finding a coffee shop that expands my horizons or blows my mind is rare. The coffee I had at Proud Mary was one of those lucky instances - well sourced, dialed in, and served with attention to detail. Jack knew exactly what to serve me and even offered me the same coffee processed two different ways. My espresso and pour overs were all incredible. Prices are high, so keep that in mind when coming. I also can’t speak to the food as I did not order any but I’m excited to come back and try it sometime!

We went here for a quick brunch with our large group of twelve people, and they managed to accommodate us promptly despite being very busy on a public holiday morning. Their attitude was excellent, and we felt warmly welcomed. The wait time for our orders was slightly longer than expected, which was understandable given our group size and the restaurant's full capacity. However, the food itself was excellent—well-presented, fresh, expertly prepared, and delicious. The ambiance was upscale, modern, and environmentally conscious. The restrooms were clean, there was ample parking, and they even provided toys for older kids. As for the service, it was outstanding. The staff were very friendly and attentive, making it easy to get the waitress' attention whenever we needed something. We will definitely return if we find ourselves in the area again!

I am so so so grateful that Proud Mary Coffee has graced Austin, Texas - I’m a proud “regular” and make my way to the cafe at least several times per week. The coffee is top notch, no way is there compromise on value or quality. A perfect place to enjoy brunch, business meetings, and hangouts with loved ones. One of the best cafes in the 🇺🇸 USA. I love the ambience of the space- open and great lighting. I feel joyful when I’m in the cafe, and there is so much thoughtfulness Infused in every aspect of the space. The staff are super consistently warm, professional, and personable. They rock it. Shoutout to Nolan, owner of Proud Mary. Thank you for your vision coming to life and gracing the world with pure quality. We appreciate you.

Super knowledgeable staff! Food was great, so was the coffee! Really neat place and would definitely visit again. Plenty of parking even with it being busy! Only bummer was the inside was soooo loud with how busy it was. We opted to sit outside which was comfortable but sometimes the music was a bit too loud too for it being 11am haha.

T

Absolutely great new coffee shop on south Lamar. The space is fantastic, service was great and knowledgeable, and they have an inside and outside areas. We didn't try the food but the prices seem to be in conjunction with most places you see, and with weekend brunch prices. Also if they don't have oat milk for your vanilla pumpkin spiced latte, with 2 expresso shots..... there's tons of Starbucks around for you to go to. Do yourself a favor and get some premium coffee.

Proud Mary’s felt like fine dining on a budget. The food was delicious and the plating was beautiful. We really enjoyed the ricotta hot cakes, chicken sandwich, and breakfast burger. I usually get my coffee with some syrup but the flat white I got didn’t even need sugar and was super well balanced. The cafe vibes were chill although we did have to wait ~45 minutes for our food to show up, but it was well worth the wait! Highly recommend.

The most beautifully (and professionally) designed restaurant I ever been to in Austin. With best pour over coffee menu, really yummy food, and great service, you will have a great experience dining at Proud Mary. Nonetheless, parking is very inconvenient and not free.

R

I originally came when a friend described their pour over coffee flight, but was extremely impressed by the quality of food as well. I’ve never been somewhere where the coffee and food were both so good that either could be the standout. We got the granola and potato hash with a Colombian pour over, and it was all fantastic. Strong recommend if you’re looking for a great coffee, breakfast, or both!

V

The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was wonderful. The scrambled egg roti blew me away--it was so innovative, and all the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh! If you don't want the crab sauce, you can ask them to swap it for their house hot sauce, which was delicious. My hubby really enjoyed the eggs on toast and his coffee. I ordered a lemongrass tea, and it was so fresh and flavorful. I fell in love with this place and am looking forward to coming back to try more menu items.

Proud Mary’s in Austin is absolutely moist! The food was outstanding — every dish was full of flavor and made with such high-quality ingredients. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing. Definitely one of my new favorite spots in Austin — can’t wait to come back!

C
Carlos “Charlie” Rodriguez

My experience at Proud Mary exceeded my expectations. Service was stellar and the food was excellent. I got the Scrambled Egg Roti and it was one of the most delicious things I’ve ever had. I also ordered arugula salad and hash browns extra crispy. I would order the arugula salad again (and again and again) and leave off the hash browns next time. Coffee was pretty good too! Very tasty but they didn’t offer my preference of half and half as a milk option. The space is a bit echoey which makes it a bit loud at times. Plenty of people working on laptops and great single seating options including outdoor patio area too! I’m looking forward to my next visit!

C
Christine Allender

Super friendly staff! Amazing food. I had the scrambled egg roti and the pork belly hash. It was so delicious! The coffee is delicious, and there are lots of options. They also make immune juice shots! I highly recommend trying this restaurant coffee shop you won't be disappointed!

B

My top coffee spot in Austin. I've visited about 50 coffee shops and this one brings something entirely new to the conversation - a deep network of small growers and astoundingly good coffee. The service staff is phenomenal as well. Very high esprit de corps.

One of my favorite coffee shops (or restaurants) in town for delicious cup of coffee and fancy brunch/breakfast menu. Other than regular coffee menu, they also have pour over and tea choices as well. The bacon breakfast plate that we got was delicious, and it came with two eggs, and hash potatoes. It’s also free parking as well (just remember to validate parking ticket on your way out).

I

This place took me by surprise! I drove by here during the week and decided to check it the following Saturday morning. Didn't do any research on the plane and thought it was just a regular coffee shop where you order at the counter then go on your way but it was an entire cafe with a full kitchen staff and table service. The coffee itself was amazing, definitely one of the better places I've been to here in Austin. As far as the food, I got the Acai Bircher and that was very unique to me and tasted amazing. I could definitely see myself going back here for more.

P
Patrick Kennedy

The coffee was decent, I would say my shot was slightly over extracted and lacked the depth I expected from the hype this place has. But overall one of the top 3 I’ve had in Austin. What I was not expecting is the incredible food items they have on their menu. They have pastries, full sit down breakfast and lunch, cocktails, roasted coffee, limited merchandise, very friendly staff and a great airy and sunlit dining room that is elevated but still casual. Prices are decent, especially for how good the food was. The parking garage you can park in next to the shop and they have a sign you can easily scan a QR code to validate parking.

T

The food was good, and the coffee was wonderful. There is seating outside and at the bar, and there are tables inside as well. It’s a busy place, so you might have to wait a bit. Overall, it was a great experience — I definitely recommend checking it out.

Proud Mary Coffee is a total win—coffee nerd heaven with foodie-level dishes. Pro tip on parking: set 90 minutes in the app, hit “pay,” then scan the barcode inside for the free-parking discount. Weekdays are calm; weekends get lively fast. Coffee: Stellar lineup—pour-over heaven. My latte was spot-on (bonus latte art), and I grabbed a bag of the Proud Thinker beans to take home—highly recommend. Food: Brunch shines. The salmon soba noodles feel light and clean, perfect with the sweet hot cakes (absolutely worth it). Savory pancakes were excellent, and if you’re adventurous, the roti with scrambled eggs is the sleeper hit—best thing on the menu. Diet-friendly: Thoughtful DF/GF options without sacrificing flavor. Service & vibe: Friendly, detail-oriented team—shoutout to Linda and Sophie, and the hostess who helped us with parking. Bright, modern space that works for catching up or getting work done.

A wonderful addition to Austin. It's going to be my new favorite place. The food was amazing. We tried their pork and bacon smashed burger, which was amazing, and the curried scrambled with roti. They had a variety of coffee, but I ended up taking the regular cappuccino but looking to try something new next time. 3/21/2025 I brought my brother here during his last trip, and he wanted to go again this trip to Austin. His favorite is the Ricotta Hotcakes. The Turmeric Chai was also something he enjoyed.

came here and ate by myself on a sunday morning, hannah was my server and she was INCREDIBLE, so kind and attentive. she recommended me the potato hash and aussie coffee and both were amazing!! i loved the ice cream in the coffee and the potato hash was one of the best if not the best breakfast i’ve ever had, ive come here and had the breakfast burger too which is just as good. 11/10! one of my new favorite places in atx

Warmest welcome and service. Our server truly heard out our inquiries on the menu and had the best recommendations. The food was fantastic. The lemon dessert was amazing and the coffee was is literally out of this world. Will continue to visit this place every time we visit Austin. It’s a little taste of Australia!

C

Our grandson asked us to meet him here while we were visiting, and the young hostess was so kind that we felt we should mention her by name, Grace! we even asked before we left because she made us feel so welcome right away. We don’t get out much anymore, and she was patient in explaining things we didn’t quite understand. The food was very nice as well. I tried a scrambled egg roti, which I had never heard of before, and it was quite good. When we come back to visit our grandson, we will be stopping in again.

Best coffee bar of all time and it’s not even close. I really love how they give you free water because I’m trying to stay hydrated more now.

Food - exceptional!!! I had a kimchi beef sandwich and it was so so so good. The bread itself reminded me Easter European bread and nowhere in the states I’ve ever had a bread that good. Nitro cold brew was so smooth and so rich. Loved it. The ladies at bar were super sweet and attentive. They let me try their sangria and I ended up ordering it. I want to come back already!!!

As a coffee enthusiast who enjoys pour-over black coffee with locally roasted beans, I’m always on the lookout for places that truly respect the craft. This spot delivers on all fronts. They have an impressive selection of high-quality coffees, and it’s clear they take the time to emphasize each brew’s unique flavors. I love that they recommend drinking the coffee black to really appreciate the subtle tasting notes—it makes a world of difference. The pour-over flight was a highlight for me, allowing me to try several of their offerings. Each one came with a card that detailed the origin and flavor profile, which added a thoughtful touch and made the tasting experience even more engaging. Beyond the coffee, the food is equally worth mentioning. They use quality ingredients, and every dish I tried was prepared with care. The Ricotta Hotcakes, with their rotating flavors, were fantastic. The Sausage Roll was perfectly savory, and the Banh Mi—honestly, it was so good I’ll be thinking about it for a while. They also offer a good selection of teas, which I appreciated, though I found the iced tea could have been a bit sweeter for my taste. I also really like that they offer free parking validation for 90 minutes, which is a nice bonus. Overall, everything felt well-balanced—whether it’s the coffee or the food, you can enjoy yourself here without feeling unhealthy. Highly recommend!

This sunny place served up great breakfast, coffee, and pastries. We enjoyed the drip coffee, grilled broccoli cornbread, scrambled egg roti, and ricotta lemon cake. The wait staff were helpful, flexible, and attentive. With road construction it's somewhat difficult to enter and leave. Proud Mary had several places of its own parking and signs that it validated for the parking garage.

One of my favorite places for a delicious breakfast in Austin. We’ve been there a couple of times, and each time I’ve ordered the Pork Hash because I liked it so much. The bagna cauda sauce and poached eggs perfectly complement the potato hash and the crispy piece of pork belly. The breakfast burger is also a very satisfying, meaty, cheesy, and "breakfasty" dish. We liked how the pork-bacon patties tasted. The sausage roll is well-seasoned and crispy, served with an arugula salad, which is a great choice for a quick bite. Each time, the service has been great and attentive. I like this location’s simple, modern interior. The way they serve milk for the Americano or Earl Grey in tiny bottles is so cute. I definitely recommend this Australian-inspired café.

Excellent brunch place. Had the kimchi Ruben, absolutely delicious!! Our group also had avocado toast, excellent, grilled pepper focaccia - average. The coffee ware the best in Austin. I tried the Javanica pourover, a Nicaraguan coffee, very smooth. Highly recommend this place. Can be very busy, so come off hours or be ready to wait.

S

Came here twice when we were in Austin. The coffee was brilliant, although they did play on the "Aussie" thing rather hard (Aussie styled iced latte? No such thing). That said, we were largely very happy with the dishes (the noodles was delish). The crumbed panko chicken was a bit dry, but still passable. Service was prompt and polite. An enjoyable place to be for brunch.

Great meal, sweet server, tasty drink! Ordered the Malay friend chicken salad (gf) and clay date with the cup to go! Chill vibe.

M

Treat yo'self. Great space, coffee, and eats - I need to come back to finish out the menu and try some of their super high end coffees. Parking up front is tight but the garage behind it is easily validated inside. Pup friendly outside!

Hands down the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. Like, “cancel the rest of your day” good. I took one bite and felt like I got hit by a flavor truck driven by a Michelin chef and a short-order cook in perfect harmony. Hash browns? They looked like they were built in a Texas foundry. Comically huge, crispy like a damn Dorito on the outside, soft inside. Could’ve been a meal on their own. Turmeric chai was shockingly good — tasted like wellness and flavor had a baby. Iced coffee? No messing around. Cold, strong, smooth. The whole place just gets it. If this breakfast were a movie, it’d win an Oscar and still be underrated.

My friend and I decided to walk in without a reservation and had to wait about half an hour, which wasn't too bad since we were able to order coffees while we waited. They also have pastries available at the front, which is a nice touch for those who need a quick bite. What We Ordered: Pancakes: My friend ordered the pancakes and they were fluffy, delicious, and generously portioned. Egg Dish with Bacon and Potatoes: I opted for an egg dish that came with perfectly cooked bacon and crispy potatoes. It was a hearty and satisfying breakfast. Fresh Juices & Iced Lattes: We both ordered fresh juices and iced lattes. The juices were refreshing and the lattes were just right. The restaurant itself is very open with plenty of natural light, making it a pleasant spot for brunch. The service was quick and efficient, adding to the overall positive experience. Parking was convenient with a garage nearby, and Proud Mary validates your ticket, which makes the process easy and hassle-free. Overall, Proud Mary is a great spot for a leisurely brunch with friends. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was perfect for a relaxing morning. Highly recommend giving it a try!

We really enjoyed the coffee at this place. The atmosphere is great, and it’s clearly very popular: we came for breakfast and it was quite busy. Despite that, the service was fast and well organized. The food was excellent: all the dishes we tried were fresh, flavorful, and nicely prepared. Everything came out quickly, which was especially impressive given how many people were there. The interior deserves a separate mention. It’s bright and welcoming, with large panoramic windows that let in a lot of natural light and make the space feel open and comfortable. Overall, it was a very pleasant breakfast experience: good coffee, delicious food, efficient service, and a relaxed, lively atmosphere that makes you want to come back.

Absolutely delicious!! So unique and flavorful. Amazing cooks and staff. We got the Scrambled Eggs Roti and the Breakfast burger, and oh my gosh!! Give the chefs a raise! Wish I would have taken a picture of my Roti but had gobbled it down by the time I thought about taking a picture! So delicious!!

Everything was beyond amazing. Wife had the coffee, said it was delicious. I had the poolside drink, it was GREAT! Wife and I shared the kimchi reuben, flavor was awesome.

One of the few places I’ve been to that has legitimately delicious coffee and delicious food. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a place that has the best of both worlds! Scrambled egg roti is incredible, breakfast burger is also delicious. Prices are incredibly reasonable. They also have WiFi so my partner and I talked business and got some work done over some delicious coffee and food. I got the pour over flight and was pleasantly surprised with how great the quality was. Perfect cappuccino. Beautiful environment. What a treasure in Austin! We will be back for sure.

I didn’t catch the name of the hostess but she was very helpful. Make sure to put 90 minutes into the app, “pay”, and then scan the barcode for the discount to make parking free. It can be quiet here during the week and very busy on weekends. The coffee list is amazing. Pour over heaven. Loved the experience of smelling the grinds and reading about the coffee. Definitely a foodie place that pays attention to detail. They have several df and gf options. Shout out to Linda and Sophie for being awesome!

FANTASTIC Third Way coffee and brother coffee shop to the one in Portland, Oregon, both amazingly eccentric cities that we love! Excellent atmosphere. Wonderful service (we love you Sophie!!! 🥰💖) and amazing espresso that is such a delight!

Nice little cafe with a fun menu. The Aussie meat pie was out of this world, the day we visited the special filling was beef and cheese. The breakfast burger was also delicious. The turmeric dirty chai was a unique spin on a drink that I order often and it was a delightful change of pace. Staff were very friendly and service was quick and efficient.

I had a fantastic visit to this place! The latte was very good and the latte art was a nice touch. The salmon soba noodles felt healthy and complemented the sweet hot cakes — and let me tell you, the hot cakes were worth it. The savory pancakes were also great. If you’re feeling adventurous, go for the roti and scrambled eggs — hands down the best thing on the menu. Coffee lovers rejoice: they sell beans too, and I highly recommend the “Proud Thinker” roast. Will definitely be back!

It’s very loud inside and there was a 30 minute wait but the decor is very nice and the vibes are good. Food and coffee were excellent too. The iced mocha with ice cream was interesting and the scrambled egg roti was delicious.

Great experience! This was my fourth time coming to Proud Mary — I’ve traveled from San Angelo in west Texas , just to eat here. The place is phenomenal. The staff is kind, friendly, and welcoming. I really enjoyed the Magic Mocha and the Breakfast Burger, both were excellent. Honestly, one of the best brunch spots I’ve ever been to. Highly recommend, especially for families. The prices are very fair for the quality you get. Props to the owners and the team for making this place stand out.

Proud Mary Coffee is a true gem for coffee lovers! From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere and the rich aroma of expertly roasted beans. Their coffee is next-level — smooth, flavorful, and clearly crafted with care and precision. Whether you’re ordering a single-origin pour-over or one of their signature blends, every cup is a work of art. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do, making the experience even more enjoyable. Proud Mary also offers a creative and delicious food menu that pairs perfectly with their beverages. It’s clear that quality and sustainability are top priorities here, from their sourcing practices to their beautifully presented dishes. This is more than just a coffee shop — it’s a place where community, craftsmanship, and great taste come together. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates great coffee and a welcoming environment.

We stopped in for an iced latte and it was wonderful! The atmosphere was really chill and bright. Our server was lovely. The iced lattes were really good. They do not have flavored syrup but they do have simple syrup. We tried their handmade cookies and they are so rich! These were caramel popcorn and peanut butter this week and change constantly. I would stop by again for sure!

Proud Mary Coffee is a fantastic spot that blends specialty coffee, great food, and a unique atmosphere. One of the standout features is their espresso selection - you can choose the country of origin, with detailed cards providing background on the coffee, sometimes even featuring the farmers behind it. It’s a thoughtful touch that makes the experience more personal. The interior strikes a perfect balance between modern and nostalgic, with a record player, vinyls, and vintage speakers adding character. The open kitchen and large coffee machines create an engaging, dynamic space that feels both lively and welcoming. Unlike many coffee shops, Proud Mary offers a full kitchen with an interesting menu, making it a great place not just for coffee but for a proper meal. With plenty of indoor seating, lots of greenery, and a few tables outside, there’s room to either take a quick break or settle in and work for a while. The friendly staff and the presence of a full bar add even more to the appeal. Overall, it’s a well-designed space with high-quality coffee, great food, and a relaxed yet vibrant vibe. Highly recommended!

Food was very good and loved the ambiance. We had the roti scramble and potato hash - both were great. My only complaints would be the matcha was probably 3 oz small, and our waitress made us feel like she had better things to do. Otherwise I’m very happy about this new addition to South Lamar

Went for 9am breakfast date. They have so many unique coffee flavors! If you love trying out different coffee, I would come here. I’m not a coffee connoisseur so I was really there to check out the food. I got the scrambled egg roti! Scrambled Eggs were cooked just right (not too wet, not too dry). Two pieces of potato were not cooked all the way through and was crunchy but the Marsala sauce was perfectly seasoned and the Roti was so flaky and delicious. My friend got the egg on toast with a side of hash. OMG the hash was soooo good!

The food here deserves a 5 STAR rating ! However the service here is BAD, the waiters seemed so NONCHALANT, it took us 35mins to get a seat at the bar, 15mins to wait for the food and 15mins for the waitress to get it to our table. They forgot my coffee order and acted like they didn’t care. Also got our check wrong. All in all, Food was great but the experience was bad. The ingredients were fresh and high quality ! We had the Salmon Soba Noodles and the Savoury French toast and the Nitro chill (heirloom)

Rare that I don’t give 5 stars. Coffee took longer than the food. Flights of Long blacks were luke warm, warm and almost barely hot enough. It’s a busy place to be seen. Food was great. Clearly the most expensive coffees in town. A shame that they can’t produce a consistent temperature. The staff excuse about temperature was weak. A shame because the notes in the coffee were worthy of experiencing.

Finally made it in for a coffee flight! It was delicious. I ordered the scrambled eggs and hash. I loved it. Definitely a dine in place and not so much a grab coffee and go place. My only issue was they don't carry cream, so I had to drink milk in my coffee. Otherwise amazing!

Was able to work off my laptop here for a solid 2 hours at the bar. Very friendly and welcoming staff! Saw many people working on laptops throughout the space, but also groups of people getting together for breakfast. I had the immunity shot ($6) which was delicious, fresh, and little spicy. Iced latte with oatmilk ($7) was solid, no complaints. I also tried the Piccolo with oatmilk ($5.50) which is equal parts espresso and steamed milk which — on the bitter and smaller side if you’re into that! Like a slightly bigger macchiato. I ordered the Scrambled Eggs Roti since it seemed the most unique and also had lots of reviews. I requested mine without cilantro but really wished i had asked for no peanuts or at least very light peanuts. There were just way too many peanuts on top that made it taste like that was all i was eating and was off putting. The bean sprouts and pickled vegetables on top are served cold, and Im not sure if that made the eggs cold or if the eggs are served at a lower temperature to compliment the cold toppings, but I didn’t love the lower temperature of the scrambled eggs. The eggs were scrambled very soft however which was delicious! Just would have liked them hotter and without the peanuts.

Great atmosphere and friendly service. Food was good, not much to rave about. The coffee flight gives you a good experience to taste different coffee blends. Overall a good experience but definitely overpriced for the quality and quantity of food and drinks.

Came here on a Saturday morning, and it was packed. Luckily, I was able to get a seat right away near the window. The food, coffee, and vibes were excellent. I could tell they try to use quality ingredients. Parking: Parking is limited right near the restaurant. Be sure to scan the parking QR code, then, once inside, near the host stand, scan the QR code to validate your parking (1.5 hours complimentary).

Really bright and lively spot with super friendly staff. The food and coffee were both solid. We tried the Kimchi Reuben, French Toast, and Avo Toast, and everything was tasty. They also validate 90-minute parking, which is a plus around here. I had the Scrambled Egg Roti before, and it was light and flavorful. The place is full of beautiful, healthy plants that make it feel so fresh and open. The only downside is that it can get a little loud but overall, a great place to hang out and grab brunch.

I give them 4stars for two reasons. I wanted the salmon soba noodle salad and they didn’t have it, because of this I would not give a 4 stars because LIFE HAPPENS but.. The second that I order and they did have was kimchi Reuben. It was really good but the bread was huge and I couldn’t grab it cause it brake so much .. I do recommend it but with other bread. The filling needs to be the same with different bread. COFFEE WAS AMAZING💖 definitely 5stars.

Very nice vibes and aesthetically on point. The food was okay! We tried the scrambled egg roti (a bit too runny for me) and coconut açaí bircher. Did not try the coffee but I hear it’s super good. 7/10 Coffee Cups ☕️

It get 4 stars for the appearance and atmosphere. Far as the taste, at least it's not my style. Coffees have more sour taste than other normal coffees. I personally tried pourover Flight which more like tester package. It includes 3 different coffees. The brewing method is pourover hot water papper filter. They all can be served as is or add your own tastes like sugar or milk, creamer. Of cause, there are foods but I unfortunately didn't have chance to try out since the place closed at 4pm. May add another review later.

went to Profe of Mary for breakfast today. We ordered the lemon hotcake with peach. The presentation was very pretty, but the pancake felt a little crumbly. We also ordered two extra dishes that were absolutely amazing: the breakfast burger and the roti scrambled eggs — both were a solid 10/10. For drinks, we had two cappuccinos and a mocha. Honestly, I would give the coffee experience a 6/10. The first cappuccino I got was quite cold, and my husband’s mocha was a bit watery, lacking body. We ordered another cappuccino later on, and it did come at a better temperature, but it was nothing special — I’ve had better. I was expecting the coffee to be more “top notch.” Overall, the service was good and the place is nice, but the highlight for me was definitely the food rather than the coffee.

Beautiful, aesthetically-pleasing spot with lots of relaxing natural light, huge windows, unique coffee options, and extremely uncomfortable seating (which seems to be all the rage lately/is prob a way to get customers to eat & leave asap). Service was pretty fast (no wait time for a weekday afternoon brunch vibe), tho the servers were giving “I don’t want to be here” icy-but-pleasant-enough energy and not the typical Austin-style bubbly/friendly. Coffee: good, tho not mind-blowing, esp for the elevated pricing. I got the nitro cold brew, which was VERY strong and had a satisfying malt-y flavor and texture. My friends got the bougie, but decadent pour-over flight and they LOVED one of the coffee selections, but said the other 2 were somewhat uneventful and meh. It’s cool they sell their own beans too. We grabbed some from the front on our way out. FYI, they do NOT have half and half. Yes, it’s one of *those* places lmao 🫨🤫🤔 For food, I got the salmon soba bowl, which was…ok. Flavors were peanut-y and vibrant, but the salmon portion was hilariously tiny for a $20 plate. Kinda disappointing and not very filling. Parking is free for 1.5 hours. Validate at the front register.

We tried Proud Mary’s for the first time and overall it was pretty good. The vibe is great, and the service was quick. Prices are a bit steep for breakfast, but that’s pretty standard for Austin. The cold brew was excellent! Just a heads-up—it's really warm inside, and the seating is mostly stools, which may not be comfortable or accessible for everyone.

Should be a better overall experience for the price. I had the savory french toast, an iced coffee with ice cream in it, a matcha, and my son had the scrambled eggs & milk. Was about $60 before tip. The coffee was awesome. The service was ok. For the price, I expect very nice service, with the waitstaff checking in, explaining the menu, etc. I asked if they had a kids menu. They said no, which is fine. Would have been nice if they suggested a good option for my kid. The seating was weird. Again, for the price, I expect to have my own table. We ended up sharing a table with someone else. The chairs were uncomfortable. Too many chairs at one table. Definitely not a kid-friendly place. Will maybe be back with just my husband.

Madison Wong

Food was yummy and plated very nicely. They have some different and unique options compared to normal brunch places. The host and the waitress had nasty attitudes. I get that it’s busy but it doesn’t justify being rude to your customers asking for more time to look at the menu / asking questions. It’s in a cute area but it’s so busy that you’re sharing tables and sitting on little mini stools

R
Ryan Maynard

At face value, this is exactly what you expect from a hip Austin breakfast spot—great coffee, globally-inspired brunch dishes and a lively, modern atmosphere with communal tables. They have a wide variety of American-style coffee source from around the globe and it is expertly prepared. The food menu is diverse and everything we tried was quite good, although they were out of several non-perishable items like Prosecco, which is a major fault for brunch. Although, service is the real disappointment here. They definitely don’t create a “welcoming” feeling. It seems like the staff is just doing their best to cope with a chaotic environment, and often, interactions were abrupt and unfriendly. I’d stop by again to grab a coffee on the patio, but I’d probably pass on enduring the long wait for what was overall a mixed experience.

Lovely ambience, upcoming new Austin look. Prices are as expensive as California. They branded themselves with their unique coffee tasting experiences, that is how they stand out which I think is brilliant. Lovely hang out place, great servers, however for Texas it is on the expensive end. Pork belly hash was good but was very fatty and oily, food presentation was nice, coffee was good many variety however was served late was too expensive. We thought was not worth the money given other amazing food alternatives in the Austin area.

E
Elle Beecher

This is a great spot for group brunch! The lighting is great and diffused, there’s a lot of space, and parking available outside. I honestly wasn’t blown away by the food, it was decent but not worth the price. I appreciated that they had some vegan options. The only reason I would come back is if I needed a spot for a large group. Easy to hear everyone and have conversations.

*UPDATED REVIEW* Went back with my coffee buddy to give Proud Mary another try. Got a few small baked goods, pour over flight and espresso flight. +Cool that flights are an option -Pay $30 for no explanation of what you’re getting with the pour overs. When I asked, was only told “it’s a lot of coffee”. Turns out you don’t get to pick which beans to try. -Pour over is served in thin glass cups. Meaning you have about 2 minutes to really enjoy the coffee before it gets cold. - didn’t enjoy one the pour overs at all. Which is really annoying for the price Probably won’t be running it back again. Still not into the restaurant style. Coffee is good not great. Pricing and attitude is way to high. ___________________________________ Pretty good spot. Very interested what becomes of it as they fine tune their offerings. Good: atmosphere coffee is delicious Incredible coffee selection Unique foods Bad: Cannot bring dogs inside! (Change the google tag) Food is overpriced Our experience was interesting, it shouldn’t be called “Proud Mary Coffee” since you are taken care of the way you are at a restaurant: host takes you to table, order items and a server waits on you. So we walked in with backpacks and books ready to chill and work, but it’s not a coffee shop to do that at…. Host, asked if we could sit outside since we brought our dog, and sat as us temporarily at another table where two people were already seated at until they got a table for two cleaned….that was awkward. Ordered the Hot Chocolate French Toast….which is really caramel. Should be called Caramel French Toast. Misnamed. Also ordered the BBQ Prawn Toast…which has nothing to do with BBQ and is mostly generic potato salad. The dish needs more to justify the $18 price tag. And it was served in a bowl which made cutting the very hard toast difficult. Again, not a totally bad experience. Really enjoyed my cap. Aspen the waitress was very kind and hospitable. But still seems like they need to find their footing as a restaurant.

E
Elisa Murray

Food was good and the roti was as it should be, but the portion was small - especially the eggs part. Most of the bowl was empty. Could've had way more veggies if you wanna save on the eggs - especially for that price! Besides, only getting 90 minutes of free parking, and having to pay for any time after when you're already ordering quite some food is just disappointing. It feels a bit like you're being rushed and they're just trying to squeeze a dollar out of every minute that you're there.

C
Colby Evans

A disappointing experience. Having to give your personal information to a random company and scan 2 QR codes just to park as a customer is not reasonable, in my opinion. My coffee was served cold. The space was well kept and service was prompt, but not enough to make up for the quality and parking issues.

K
Komal Singh

Proud Mary’s is a great concept. I love the aesthetic but the service is atrocious. We actually got up from our table multiple times to get stuff we needed for our meal. My aunt clarified something to our waitress and she scoffed that she had repeated herself and also once more as we tried to pay and order another juice. The food was alright. The avocado toast was a bit too much going on and yet not seasoned at all. The coffee tasted off and a bit watered down. Overall not a good experience at best. Wouldn’t recommend if you want a well seasoned, tasty meal with good service

R
Raul

Long wait on the weekends for mediocre brunch. I chose the breakfast sandwich per the waitresses recommendation. The calories were not worth it in my opinion. Potato hash looked amazing so I had to get it! I was a bit disappointed, could have been crispier and lacked a bit of flavor. The drinks were great! Variety of pressed juices and the tea was awesome.

Ana Paula Silva
Ana Paula Silva

Honestly, this place was pretty disappointing for the price. The food looked great, nice presentation, but had almost no flavor. I even added salt, and it still didn’t help. The only thing that saved the visit was the coffee, the pour-over was actually very good. However, the environment was extremely loud and overstimulating. If you’re hoping to relax and enjoy your coffee in a calm atmosphere, this is definitely not the place for that.

A
AJ Callegan

My visit to Proud Mary Coffee in Austin was disappointing and hard to overlook. The environment was difficult to endure, with profane and racist music played at an obnoxiously loud volume. On top of that, there were obvious signs of mold that made it feel unhealthy to stay. It felt like the space was designed to resist comfort and a welcoming atmosphere. It’s unfortunate because the café has potential, but the toxic vibe overshadowed any positives. Would not recommend.

S
SixMillionSixty

Arrived at 11am, waited 90 min which is fine, it’s expected as it’s popular. However, after waiting that long and then seated only to be told “we’re out of breakfast burgers, also out of sausage, out of carrot cake, the list kept growing. Savory French toast wasn’t savory, it tasted too acidic. How are you not prepared for brunch and you’re a brunch establishment? Have a chalk board up of what you’re out of if this is common so your patrons don’t have to wait so long only to be to told you’re out of the items they most likely came there for.
