Great food, friendly service. Very unique Texas experience. Make your parents take you here when they're in town.

I stopped in here because of how close it was to where I was staying and I’m glad I did! I had my first ever “Ranch Water”, it was amazing and I’m a huge fan now! ( some say it was invented here ) I sat outside on the patio next to the fire and my server was helping and fun to speak with. The menu has some adventurous items but I opted for the perfect hit the spot quesadilla! Check this place out and be more adventurous than me, you will love it!

I enjoyed my birthday supper here this year!I had the crispy oysters to start, the ranch ribeye (with blue cheese crumble added) as the main dish, and finished it off with the pecan pie. Also enjoyed your mocktail options. Thanks for feeding me so well on my special day

The vibe was super eclectic and fun! Although we felt like the food was pretty average the drinks were poured STRONG! 🍸 The Mexican espresso martini packed a punch. We didn’t have the best server, unfortunately. It was Easter Sunday but she barely checked in on us and got our food order incorrect.

First of all the atmosphere here is Electric! My most favorite of anywhere in Austin. Great Texas feel. Food is always tasty. I love variety so I ordered the mixed grill with chicken fried Venison tenderloin. It melts in your mouth tender. This place works for dates and large groups. Never a dull moment at Ranch 616. The Frito pie is one the best you’ll find in Texas.

Simply perfect. All thanks to JILLIAN. She took care of us the moment we walked through the door. EASILY the BEST porkchop this side of the Mississippi. Seriously I was a little worried this was a bar disguised as a restaurant but it was simply some of the best food I’ve had in Texas. Thank god for servers like Jillian.

Cannot say enough good things about this place! we visited from WA for my bachelorette and it was the BEST experience ever! Tony is amazing and so was Danielle, i love this place and will recommend to everyone coming to Austin! It was me and my 6 friends first time ever in Texas and we had a blast here!!! 10/10 recommend the BEST place and original RANCH WATER

LOVED the food! Words can not describe how amazing the salmon is! Great service to match the food!!

Came in today with my family and we had a great time! Meg was an excellent server and took great care of us. We ordered the calamari and that alone is enough to keep us coming back.

TREMENDOUS PLACE! We were walking by and decided to stop in and grab some drinks and dinner and everything was GREAT! The staff was very friendly and we had a fantastic time! The ranch waters were really fantastic, nobody has had more ranch water than ME and these were probably some of THE BEST I’ve ever had. I will definitely be coming back any time I’m in Austin! Keep up the great customer service!!

Fun staple downtown. Try the ranch water and red fish! Great for larger groups of 6-12 as everyone can find something they like on a reliably solid menu.

AMAZING hospitality, ambiance, and food. We ended up here due to another reservation fall through and with a local's recommendation, and 'blessing in disguise' never felt more fitting

This place is awesome. Authentically weird but welcoming, fun and aesthetically pleasing. Had a lonestar (hello True Detective!), a fire in the hole and the “original” ranchwater. All yummy.

I was in Austin to help my son move and was looking for a "cool place" but not on student 6th street. After asking a few people someone said stay away from East 6th.. and go West young man- go to the 616! Eat, drink and stay around there! Both, my son and had the best food in a very long time ! And yes, the ranch waters are phenomenal! A bit pricy, but very very good food, service and athmosphere!

Austin classic. We've been going for 20 years. Food is always great, southwestern combo of tex mex and home style out-on-the-ranch. Fun atmosphere. Good for lunch, dinner, brunch or drinks.

QR menu (which I like, but I know is a turn-off for some). The prickly pear cactus knocked me for a loop (in a good way). The fried oyster sandwich was decent, but I think I would have preferred the fried oyster app instead of the sandwich (the bread/lettuce/spread didn’t add much). The grilled frog legs were fantastic and would make a solid entree. My server, Jillian, was kind and attentive.

A TEXAS MUST! I came here because of the good reviews and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Drinks and food are out of this world. Megan was our server and she is worth waiting for. Atmosphere is fun inside and outside. We got the crab cake and the chicken fried steak. Probably the best chicken fried steak of my actual life. It’s a lot of fun, definitely visit if you’re in Austin!!

Ranch 616 is such a fun place with great atmosphere and great service. the place is so unique and it stands out so much that we noticed it while out one night and had to come here. We came here for drinks and apps after dinner and we had so much fun. Everyone is here for a good time and the staff and service is fantastic.

The service? Incredibly friendly and they squeezed us into a well-cooled dining area on a ridiculously hot day. The food? Freaking excellent. The shrimp tacos were yummy (maybe just a little light on shrimp, but only a little), the deviled eggs were perfect, and the quesadilla special was outstanding (lime beef- so yummy). I really liked this place.

Was recently visiting ATX for work for the week and a coworker mentioned he’d be at Ranch 616. Decided to stop in and meet up. So happy I did. This was the best meal I had in Texas all week. The Frogs Legs were amazing, and the Wild Boar Guisado was sensational. The vibe was very cool, wait staff awesome. Highly recommend, I’ll definitely be stopping in here again when my travels take me back.

Cool Austin vibe and rustic decor combined with great food and creative drinks. Ranch 616 provides a casual but visually appealing atmosphere that is heavy on the southwest theme, which is reflected in decorations and tableware. They serve water in Mexican prayer candle glasses and have drinks with names like “brush fire” and “fire water.” The food was very good with a wide variety of interesting and creative dishes to choose from. I had the southwest grill, which was prepared perfectly and presented tastefully. The outdoor patio has a very high and unique cover with two big ass fans that really keep the air moving. Recommended if you’re looking for a casual, fun and and uniquely Austin dining experience.

Even though it was 100° outside we had a hell of a time. Ranch Water and cocktails were fresh & crisp, not sweet, and all of the food was cooked perfectly. Fire In The Hole shots were probably the best/ most fun shots we've ever had. We didn't have a single thing to improve, I guess that's why they've been there for so long.

We had a great first day in Austin by eating and drinking at the Ranch and one of the reasons we chose this restaurant was because of their gluten free items on the menu

One of the absolute best lunch spots downtown! Great service from a really great staff. Personally, I love sitting at the bar, either inside or on their patio. They close at 2 to get ready for dinner at 5 so plan accordingly. Grab a Ranch Water from the creators. I usually sub Titos for tequila because tequila makes me wanna fight!

As always, had a fabulous time at Ranch! Our waitress Viv was wonderful and super attentive. Drinks were 10/10 and really enjoyed the crab cake this most recent visit. Will be back soon!

5 stars for dessert - chocolate mousse in a slice with a toffee crust; it was a religious experience. The coffee ordered with it wasn't naughty enough though. The rest of the meal was ok. Service was excellent. Good atmosphere. Would return for dessert.

The food was pretty good. I went for the first time with my boyfriend and got the Caldo de Pollo with a side of ranch & bacon mashed potatoes. Both were very tasty. My boyfriend got the fish & seemed to really like it. Service was great. Our server was very attentive. The interior design is Cute.

OMG this place was amazing!! It’s so cool this is the home of the original ranch water and Jessica was so cool to tell us about the history and was the best bartender experience I had in Austin!! AMAZING staff food and drinks!!

L
Luke Cochran

Amazing spot for food and ambiance. Drinks are on point, food is delicious (especially the maize chicken), service couldn't be better. Meg was my server and she was the absolute best. My water glass was never empty and she had great recommendations for everything on the menu, and each rec was great. Hands down come here and ask for Meg. Only complaint was the rice and beans were opposite ends of the plate. A married couple likes to live in the same house. Put them next to each other please, as the universe intended. Rice n beans on the left, slaw above the chicken on the right

An eclecticly decorated restaurant with fantastic food. There was music outside and looked like fans that misted. We sat inside in the air conditioning. We went for brunch after trying another place that had a ridiculous wait time. This place got us right in! We all enjoyed our meals. The only thing I noticed was that I was really wanting a breakfast type option and the only thing I considered to fall in that category was the French toast. However, it was delicious. They did have grapefruit juice, which I loved. Several other places we visited on this trip didn't have that.

M

I was here in May and forgot to add a review of this incredible place, the food was excellent and the staff as well, this was my first time visiting Austin and this was an incredible place to go as recommended by a friend who's from Austin which also recommended to taste the famous Ranch Water which was amazing! I will remember to come back when I visit Austin again!

A

Delicious food and great staff. The food came out super quick and our waitress was very friendly. The French toast is AMAZING and is worth a try! Whoever they have singing on Saturday mornings (or who ever was there when I went on 2/18/23) is great and super funny! He made the experience one that will be unforgettable.

N
Nicolette Tech (Nikita)

Great atmosphere in the middle of downtown. The food was very good. The frog legs was one of the more unique options in the menu we ate. We drank Don Julio Reposado Ranch waters all through dinner and that did rack up after a while but they where SO GOOD. If you aren’t familiar with Ranch Water cocktails, and enjoy tequila, Texas is on of the few states where the bartenders know what this cocktail is and I highly recommend them. They are like a skinny margarita- meaning way less sugar and the sweetness comes from agave, which is a natural sugar. They made really good ones here! You do need to ask for the reposado though because the repo adds more flavor than a blanco would. Also, the mole chocolate bars are really good.

The food is outstanding and there’s plenty of items available for gf people such as me out there and a menu that lets you know what items are gf!! The staff is warm and friendly, even though the place is jumping with a steady stream of customers! My advice?? Make reservations or be willing to sit at the bar!

Awesome, casual dining with a flare. Fun environment and awesome decor. We sit inside because it was a little warm outside, but the patio looked really cool! The ranch water was perfect. We had good service and everything tasted amazing. I got the enchiladas of the day - really tasty! We'll be back.

This place was absolutely incredible! It was my first time visiting Austin, and I’m so glad a friend recommended it. The food was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared—and the staff made the experience even better with their friendly and attentive service. Everything from the moment we walked in felt welcoming, and it was the kind of spot that immediately makes you feel at home. I left already planning my next visit. If you’re in Austin, this is a must-try. I’ll definitely be coming back the next time I’m in town!

Holy cow. Incredible food. Salmon was out of this world. The cocktails were also unique and spot on. Our waiter, Trevor, was super helpful and just the most delightful human. Highly recommend. We’ll probably be back before we leave to have more salmon and cocktails !

The queso with beef was really tasty and fresh. I enjoyed my expensive queso and that's not something I get to say very often. The bill was $28 bucks just for that but it was worth it ! I would go again but I am not financially stable to be spending eating out like this. I highly recommend Ranch 616 to anyone who loves Mexican food.

There are times in life when we either endure the day or enjoy it. When I think of what heaven might be like, I think of Meg the best server in the history of restaurants, taking a shot out of a jalapeño bc of course we did, and last but not least I think of the corn ribs and queso. Not only was the ambience intoxicating, but the service was u like anything I’ve experienced. Did I want to tip Meg more than I’ve ever tipped anyone or did I want to propose? Maybe both? The live music was absolutely perfect and created a profound experience all the way around. I’m a long time Austinite and have always loved Ranch 616, but today was different. From start to finish, it was the highlight of my holidays. I can’t think of a time when I have enjoyed a dining experience more. If you are lucky enough to visit this heavenly space, make sure you sit outside and ask for Meg. And don’t forget the corn ribs.

Meg, our server was FANTASTIC!! Great recommendations for the food and drinks, friendly. Atmosphere was wonderful on a Sunday afternoon. 2 man band playing on the patio. Meg really put our experience over the top! Highly recommend the shot out of the jalapeño!!

This is an amazing spot for GF folks! The tortilla soup + maize chicken is an excellent starter+entree combination, one of my favorite combos I’ve found in the city. The service was great too and the NOgroni. Really nice atmosphere on the patio

Did not read the reviews prior to coming here. I was incentivized by the hotel where I was staying at nearby to go. Food and drink were great. Bartender accommodated us. Got calamari, ribeye, country fried sirloin; all exceeded expectations. One question I forgot to ask is what does ranch 616 refer to?

Friendly service, delicious food, and a fun atmosphere! We were seated promptly, everyone loved their meals, and it was great getting to enjoy outdoor seating with a breeze and shade. Lots of food options even for those with dietary preferences. Everything was flavorful and well prepared. Great portion sizes. We look forward to returning!

Western themed bar just off west Sixth Street. It has and indoor dining room with a few bar seats and several tables and booths. There is also a shaded patio outside with additional bar seating, tables, fans, and a large gun sculpture overhead. They originated the ranch water cocktail, which comes served with a bottle of topo chico. They have happy hour starting at 3, including Saturday, with drink and food discounts I look forward to returning to try more of their drinks and food. There is paid street parking on surrounding streets.

I highly recommend Ranch 616 if you’re in the downtown area. I ordered the Seared Salmon, which was exceptional—flavorful, generously portioned, and perfectly prepared. Despite it being a busy Friday night, the food arrived promptly. The atmosphere was lively, and the customer service was outstanding. I sat at the bar, where Jonathan, one of the bartenders, provided excellent service. When I mentioned I liked rum and something sweet, he crafted the perfect rum cocktail, which was absolutely delightful. He was attentive and went above and beyond to ensure a great experience. I also had the pleasure of speaking with a woman I believe to be the manager. She made rounds throughout the restaurant, checking in with guests to ensure everything was to their satisfaction. I’m already looking forward to returning. Delicious food, exceptional drinks, excellent service, and a fantastic atmosphere make this place a must-visit!

My wife and I decided to pop into Ranch 616 for a quick brunch, and wow, what a gem. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere had this cozy, quirky vibe that made it feel like the perfect spot to unwind. The music was just right—not overpowering, but enough to set a fun, relaxed tone. The service? Absolutely fantastic. Everyone was super friendly, and they genuinely seemed happy to help. One of the servers recommended the Hash, and let me just say, they nailed it. It was delicious—packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. It felt like comfort food but with a little extra magic. We weren’t planning on making this a regular stop, but after this experience, it’s definitely on our list. If you’re looking for great food in a welcoming spot, Ranch 616 is a must.

It was the first time my party of 9 experienced the Ranch 616 brunch and they did not disappoint! We celebrated Mother's Day and made reservations a couple of weeks in advanced and were seated promptly on their outdoor patio. Their live music was awesome with some acoustic guitarist providing a lively yet not rowdy ambiance. Our server was very attentive and even offered complimentary mimosas for the ladies! The food was really good, however my only constructive feedback would be that it's pretty pricey for the portions. I hardly ever finish my plate at restaurants these days and take home leftovers but here, I scarfed my whole plate down. Our table of 9 tried the Maria appetizer, Ranch Breakfast plate, Divorced Chilaquiles, Chicken Fried Steak Breakfast, French Toast and Biscuits and Gravy... everyone agreed that it was all delicious. I'd highly recommend their Maria appetizer, all of the dips, veggie sticks and chips were delicious. The Mamas at the table thoroughly enjoyed their Mother's Day Brunch as did the rest of the family. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

We got the South Texas Mixed grill. It was enough to split. The Elk tenderloin was perfection. The quail was amazing. Duck fat marble potatoes were super. The wait staff was attentive but not a bother. I would eat here again. 5 stars.

First impressions, the restaurant was jam-packed inside and no room to walk or even pull you chair. The service was quick and efficient. The food description on the menu was delicious but when arrived it was average. Few unique offering on the menu. They don't serve complimentary chips and salsa. Checkout the pictures associated with this review.

This is a little gem the atmosphere is amazing the patio is the place to be. The music was amazing we tired the frog legs they were cooked to perfection but lacked seasoning same for the calamari. The drink however were amazing I have the ranch water margarita hands down the best on the strip.

We went here to experience the original ranch water. It was delicious. The queso was very good. It didn't have tacos really..... At least on the dinner menu. It has fish tacos though. We ended up eating from the happy hour menu - which had some tasty plates. The food was fine and it's worth a visit as a tourist

Local neighbor who opted to meet up for a pleasant workday lunch with a companion rather than eating at the office. We have been here on multiple occasions for lunch and dinner with each other and with others. Food is good. Service was acceptable, though provided by multiple folks today. Once again, even with an early lunch reservation, an empty restaurant indoors and a totally empty patio, we were greeted with "we should be able to fit you in for an hour." Okay then. Sorry to be an inconvenience Every single time.

T

Food was great all the way around. Best bloody mary in town! However, service was a bit slow and not attentive. Restaurant was warm which takes away from being a pleasant brunch when perspiring. Lastly, they do not accommodate separate checks, which is ridiculous these days. Many other restaurants are able to split checks and have the tech to do so. Ranch 616 seems to be lazy about the details of providing an all around good experience.

Cool ambiance, friendly and welcoming service. Food is just okay, 3 stars, nothing to write home about. It’s a great place for larger groups and it has a wonderful outdoor seating area.

C

Really great outdoorsy area. We came in as a company outing with over 12+ people. Service was great and stayed attentive to us throughout the night. Most entrees were at minimum, $26 with some going as much as $45. The food portions matched that price for the most part but the appetizers didn't include many vegetarian options. Drinks also go for around $14 for a margarita. Be prepared to have a lot of high-quality dishes with great variety and presentation with a high price.

L

The place was pretty lively when I arrived. I had a reservation so I wasn’t worried. I was quickly seated inside out of the heat. I ordered the fried oysters, A house margarita, and the special all meat mixed grill plate. The fried oysters were good and tasty I would’ve made a nice meal. The plate of meat had The sugar cured quail, a jalapeño and cheese sausage and Chicken fried venison. I am not a big fan of quail because it seems like a lot of work for very little meat but it is all over the menu so the chef must have something special for quail. The chicken fried venison was very tender and tasty. Everything was very tasty but I would preferred another specialty meat of the house rather than the jalapeño sausage.

Unfortunately patio was reserved so inside was a bit noisy, but food and service were great. Elote corn ribs, queso and chips are a "must". Tasty tres leches

Fantastic service super interesting location with beautiful outdoor seating, food was very good with unusual items on the menu like what I had which was a Divorced Quail. There must be more of a story to that than I know but it was very tasty. Only downside that I was looking forward to was a draft beer they only had beer in a can, although it was a very good selection of craft beers. Fried pie for dessert!

Calamari was really good, Fries were a little crispy for my liking still good. The crab cake was a good 7/10. Super cute place would sit outside next time but it was way too hot!

Slightly off the beaten path of West 6th lies a Tex Mex place that features eclectic decorations and delicious food. We recently stopped by Ranch 616 and were pretty impressed by what they had to offer. As mentioned before, the decor is a bit wacky but it seems to suit the place well. Since it is right off of 6th, be aware that parking may not be the easiest to find and you’ll have to settle with what you get. The interior and exterior are clean and lively and there is sometimes live music on their patio section. When we arrived we were quickly seated and ordered quick as well. The waiters were attentive and quick, which is always appreciated. One thing we noticed is that water comes in repurposed candle holders, which is cool but also means you get only a bit of water at a time before you need to refill. For food we ordered a plain cheese quesadilla, quesadilla of the day (ended up being chicken), and their ranch chicken sandwich fried. All the food was pretty good. The plain cheese quesadilla was perfect, just the right texture and filling of cheese. The quesadilla of the day was a standard chicken quesadilla featuring refried beans, cream, etc; pretty good, but nothing special. Lastly, the fried chicken sandwich was great, the chicken breaded well and very juicy, although is came out very very hot. Ranch 616 was a very welcome change to what you would normally expect from West 6th’s bar and fast eats scene. There’s a lot of character here and as people always looking for reliable restaurants in different neighborhoods, Ranch 616 definitely fits that bill. We will certainly be back if ever out on 6th and looking for some southwest/Tex Mex food.

Our group had a range of shared meats (quail, brisket and eye fillet) plus desserts. Sat outside on a good and hot summer's evening - phew! Great service. Not sure about 3 halapeño slices in my cocktail - probably distracted the tastebuds from enjoying the flavours. Stuck to water after that. Good to sample a tres leches cake which was a new one for me.

We ordered fried chicken sandwich, meatloaf and pork belly sandwich. All of the three items were delicious tasting and well cooked and the portions were heavy and we all got to go boxes. Their house hot sauce was above average. Our server was very attentive and was checking on us regularly. The drinks menu has some fun cocktails

Very interesting decor, probably wouldn't have stopped in if it weren't recommended for us! Looked very junk-yardy from the outside. Food is just average though. The grilled frog legs were very tender, but were lacking in taste. The fried calamari and oyster had a little too much breading for our liking. The mixed grill plate (sausage, squab, venison) is ok. Squab is super tender and sausage has good taste. Definitely fun to have tried it for the atmosphere, and the interesting protein choices available.

Nice little restaurant located on the west side of downtown. Seemed like a very popular place. We had a party of 30 and there were still plenty of other patrons. Staff had trouble with the seating ( we reserved in advance) and a little trouble keeping up. The seating issue was cause we had a few extra people join us and that really threw them off. There was room available but they didn't want to release the tables. We sat outside and were gonna be moved in to be accommodated. It was a little messy. Appetizer was ok, fries oysters Fried okra, fried jalapeno and calamari. That was pretty good. Oysters not so much. I ordered the chicken fried steak. It came back cold, not very tender and very very dark. Bad oil or overcooked. Wife had a burger and she said it had no flavor either. This place is apparently known and the inventor of the Ranch water. I had regular water and t tasted like it was from the ranch so I guess they're right. Lol I won't be back. Wasn't my cup of tea

I so wanted to enjoy this place, and for the most part it was fun for a group of about 15, but boy did we get stuck with a sour puss of a waitress. We were spending our meal trying to sort out why she was so cold and figured it was a breakup or some bad news. The rest of the staff was pretty affable but that one just rubbed me the wrong way as was with others in my group. The food was ok, but were we to aim for another private dining spot, this place would not make the list.

Visiting from NYC, and this place was referred to us since it is literally feet from where we are staying. The food was good and the waitstaff was wonderful EXCEPT for the bartender JESSICA. As we sat at our table she came from behind the bar to engage in conversation with a patron directly over my head. Standing awkwardly behind my seat, she carried on a lengthy chat that was so loud our waitress couldn’t hear my husband’s order clearly so we had to repeat ourselves. I looked back at her and the patron several times with no response from either to move. It is incredibly unprofessional, uncomfortable and rude to carry on a conversation OVER another paying customer. I only gave 3 stars because everyone else on the staff was lovely. It’s a shame they have to suffer for Jessica’s rude and unthoughtful behavior. Maybe next time, she should consider asking the person to move a few steps over or even talking to them at their table. It’s not rocket science.

The food was ok, but way overpriced in my opinion. There was a hair in one of our dishes, but the server and manager quickly took it and brought out a new dish. They did apologize and took the meal off. Would try again.

I went recently to check out their newer menu… and I’m kinda sad. My favorite entrees were removed and the replacements are just mid. We got the fish tacos and red snapper plus drinks. Fish tacos weee extremely mid. Red snapper was ok but too saucy and the skin on bottom had scales and was soggy. A miss, esp for $44. Drinks are fine, but on the smaller side. This place has a great vibe and is great for a dinner or snack before bar hopping, but maybe stick with the apps and drinks.

Atmosphere and patio was a great setting for groups and noise. Decent music playing. Quiet side street so less traffic. Service was sub par for the surrounding area is my main reason for lower ranking. Stiff and awkward for any staff encounter on a Sunday afternoon. No intro of waiters name, no hello, even after asking how she was. Very weird. Maybe saw us 2 times. Food was decently priced for downtown and quality was very good. I enjoyed the chicken fried steak. It was lightly breaded, very crispy, with a flavorful gravy. Healthy portion. Salad with steak was nice too and they paired it with 2 very good dressings. The 2 drinks we ordered tasted like plenty of alcohol was used and better mixers with it. Maybe even freshly pressed. Could have fooled me if they were packaged mixers. If definitely go again for the chicken fried steak and would hope service matches every place we've been to around downtown.

Just had lunch at 616, the food was below average. It’s no exactly what you expect when reading the menu. It is lacking flavor, the only reason I gave it two stars is the service was fantastic. We had a very sweet waiter, ambiance is okay we had to sit inside because of the rain. But honestly it’s not worth the $100 spent for two people.

Menu was expensive so we didnt eat. Would like to go back and try their food, however it is a place I would need to save and plan for.

Ill start off by saying the food was great.. but the service? Not so much. Franco R was our server and within 30 seconds he already seemed impatient after we asked to review the menu for a couple more minutes. Then at the end of our meal, instead of asking whether we were done or not, or wanted dessert, he just handed the checkbook. We were excited to try to the skillet cookie but since he seemed to be in such a rush, we didnt get to. He also never asked how we wanted the bill to be split. Overall, lack of communication and very impatient.

Food was okay but server brought out the wrong drinks for us, offered them to us but then still charged them for us. If we thought we were getting charged for them we wouldn’t have taken. Do better…this is basic customer service

The queso was ok, the jalapeno chicken tasted absolutely horrible 🤢 had a fishy taste and smell. Husband has the chicken fried steak and it was just as bad. No flavor on the rice. The waitress was a sweetheart. The tables sit way too close and are short. If your tall your definitely going to have a good time trying to get out of the booth. Little weird drinking water out of Catholic cups that look like candles..and some Kevin dude looking like Jesus. Keep Austin weird.

Absolutely disaster of a reopening. Not sure if gross incompetence or just no care for their customers. Booked a 6 person table 2-3 weeks ago for outside patio on open table. Get there and turn us down for the reservation for an overbooked outside area that we booked. There were multiple tables outside for 5-6 people but they sat 2 people at available tables. That arrived at the same time we did. Austin staple that has gone far far away from its roots of a reputable establishment. I've gone 2 years without them in covid. I will now go a lifetime without them. They obviously don't care about sitting a full restaurant or honoring reservations that you make far in advanced. Do not trust them or go there. Image attached for the undersat table they gave away that was ours

We were excited to try Ranch 616 and made a reservation specifically for outside seating. We ran a few minutes late but called ahead, and they assured us it wouldn’t be a problem. When we arrived, we were told there was no outside seating available and the wait would be another 45 minutes. The host seemed annoyed that we even asked if we could wait. Overall, not the experience we were hoping for — the service was very slow, the food was disappointing, and the attitude at the beginning of the night didn’t leave a great impression. Honestly, don’t even bother making a reservation — ours didn’t seem to matter, and it just set the tone for a downhill experience.

THEY TAKE FOREVER.... to bring YOUR FOOD TO YOU ... THE WAITRESS TOOK FOREVER TO COME BACK AROUND TO CHECK TO SEE IF ALL 6 OF US NEEDED ANYTHING OR ANYTHING WAS WRONG..WE HAD TO SIT AND WAIT OVER 20 MINUTES just to get the waitress to come back around for us to tell her what was wrong when they remade the food, it came back the same way...and THE WAFFLES WERE OVER COOKED NOT ONCE BUT TWICE..THE MOST AWFUL WAFFLES I'VE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE...THE WAITRESS THAT SERVED US NEED MORE TRAINING.... Or no, when she needs to be more attentive and it was not a lot of people at this restaurant inside or outside for you to take twenty minutes or longer to come. And check on your table that you're serving.

They won’t split the bill. We had a party of 8 with Meg S (the waitress), today, and she took FOREVER to show up. Trevor helped her out and she later came to complain that she had a 20-top so that’s why she’s so late. Then, we have a $337.27 bill that she said we couldn’t split the bill, like SURPRISE! It’s insane if you’re going to go a restaurant like this with multiple people, have crappy service, and then say we can’t split the bill. This place is awful

I went Friday night with my husband and was so deeply disappointed. We arrived, and stood at the host stand for about 7-10 minutes without so much of a greeting. It was slightly busy, but nothing all the staff who were hanging around the bar and computers couldn’t help with. We were super excited, because we had been wanting to come for weeks and even paid 2 hours worth of parking for!

I came in for dinner and the food was really good, but the service was not great. Our server, Meg, ignored us when she saw us trying to get her attention and gave us the wrong drinks when she finally did come. She seemed disengaged and inattentive. Long stetches without being checked on and a general vibe that we were an inconvenience. I hope this is addressed, as the restaurant has potential.

Where can we start. We were visiting from Houston at the Wyndham Hotel. The hotel gave us a 20% discount at 616. We gave it a try. After our server, Roger, took our order, he went by the bar and blew his nose and begin tending to other customers without washing his hands. The meal was mediocre at best. My wife ordered extra gravy. We were later charged for the gravy without being told. When the bill came, the restaurant applied the 20% discount, then they applied a automatic 20% gratuity fee which nullified the discount. It was zero savings. We ended up not saving a penny and was forced to pay a 20% tip for a subpar meal/experience. There were only four in our party, so we asked was there an automatic gratuity for a party that small and they said, "no", it was only applied because we used the coupon, so essentially, they penalize you for using the coupon that Wyndham gives you even though they made a huge deal that we have the coupon in hand to receive the "discount".
