Sam’s was incredible. The music was amazing but the sound was perfect for the space. My ears weren’t ringing and I could still talk to people without having to shout. Vibe was fantastic with people dancing and singing along to the music. The place was packed inside and out but it was still relatively easy to navigate. Service was excellent for a place so busy, and the drinks were fast, cold, and well made. The people, staff and patrons, were all friendly. Sam’s would be the perfect place to visit as a tourist, but it would also be the perfect regular hangout.

Sam’s Town Point is one of the last true dive bars in Austin, Texas. Yes ladies and gentlemen, this is NOT your standard imitation, pretend we are in old Austin pretentious type dive bar… this is the OG South Austin dive! Any given night, you can find great music and very interesting characters at this neighborhood bar. They have a well used dance floor and pool table. Plenty of seats and a great outdoor patio area. This place never disappoints, you will always have a good time at Sam’s. Stop by for a few minutes or several hour and have yourself the true, old-school, South Austin experience.

Feels like you're hanging with family. Great dance spot. Come for the music, stay for the down-home feel. Music starts early enough to still make it to bed at a decent time.

Classic Honky Tonk, and two stepping bar. Everyone is welcome here and there was a cover of $10 on the Saturday night that I went. Great outdoor seating, pool tables, and expansive dance floor! If you're into live music or two stepping, this place you need to visit.

Had a great time here and would definitely recommend it to anyone. I have a large preference to live music and outdoor settings, so I’m biased, but if that’s your jam too then you’re gonna enjoy your drink a little more here. It’s a hidden enough gem that I almost don’t want to promote it TOO much but just be careful who you bring 🤷🏻‍♂️- boisterousness doesn’t lend itself to the environment. Can’t wait to head back for a relaxing cold one. Enjoy!

Local dive bar, like stepping back in time. Check their website, find something fun on a certain night, and get out to this honey tonk! A good mix of people, young and old. Have fun and be kind. 🙂

They don't serve food. Music is great. It's an old, dark, semi run down honey tonk with some of tge best music around.

This place is a fun hideaway in Austin. It's a hole in the wall that has a great atmosphere and friendly staff and visitors. They have a nice selection of beers and drinks. It can be a little hard to find so just follow your GPS. 👍

I will say this place is an absolute Austin experience. The music is always good! But the drinks are very expensive! Got charged $15 for a ranch water last night. That is even more expensive than the cocktail bars downtown Austin. Was quite a shock. So not a place I would go to drink. But still will bring people visiting Austin for an experience.
