This place was close to where we were staying and we were intrigued to learn scenes from "Dazed and Confused" were filmed at this shopping strip (Violet Crown Shopping Center). Went there a little before 4pm and unfortunately they were out of brisket (the person behind us said because it's goood). So we had the 2 meat plate with jalepeno cheddar sausage and pork ribs and sides of potato salad and brussels sprouts, and also chicken wings with buffalo sauce. All the meat and wings were smoky and very good (buffalo sauce were a bit too spicy) and also the sides were very good. Relaxed, pleasant atmosphere. Fast, friendly service; glad we found it.

This bbq spot is for anyone looking for yummy bbq that’s opened late and not a huge queue. They offer great dishes other than bbq as well. Stiles has chicken fried steak fingers on Sundays, and it is gooood. The sides were not good this time around. They just tasted like mound of cheese and butter. The roasted chicken was a really good Cajun rub and moist.

Note, this place has physically stood the test of time. It is a smoky dive. But so so good. We tried the turkey, the chicken wings, the brisket, pulled pork, pork ribs, and pork burnt ends (pork belly). Serrano glaze for the win. Everything was amazing. They don't have corn bread, but the corn casserole was creamy and corny, a suitable substitute. The Mac n cheese was of the creamy variety. Just 10/10, and I hesitate to give that rating.

We’ve been to Stiles n’ Switch more times than we can count, and are so sad and a little shocked we haven’t left a review until now! But this allows us to speak from multiple instances of experience! What keeps us coming back is the consistency. These folks do a hell of a job making sure there’s plenty of every meat throughout the entire day, so when you show up craving something specific, you can actually order it. Everything from the juicy, flavorful turkey to the big, meaty beef ribs and the fall apart in your mouth brisket is always spot on! But it doesn’t stop at amazing BBQ. They’re constantly rolling out weekly specials and fun menu items: 1/2lb smoked burgers with wild new flavors like a fried mozzarella burger (totally delicious and worth the calories), chimichurri picanha, smoked prime rib, banh mi’s, cheesesteaks, etc… You can get a traditional meat plate or an incredible sandwich, but they also keep giving you new reasons to come back. It’s no surprise they land on the Texas Top 50 list every year! We’ve even had their bites at Texas Top 50 events and multiple Troubadour Festival, and they’re always one of our standouts. They’ve mastered flavor, quality, and that perfect mix of traditional + creative. Inside, you get that classic Texas BBQ experience where you order at the counter, pick out your meats, grab a canned beer, if that’s your vibe, and claim a table. And yes, they have dessert… and YES, the chocolate cake is our FAV! Another favorite thing they do each year is the 12 Days of Smoked Meats, where they roll out a different specials every day. Think collabs with Olamaie and El Dorado Café and wild creations like a chicken-fried beef rib. It’s legendary and a MUST do! The service is always pure Texas hospitality. They greet you as soon as you walk in, help you figure out what to order if you need help, keep the tables clean, and make sure everyone is happy and full. We usually go right when they open and have noticed there’s a solid local lunch crowd, but even if the line looks long, it moves fast. Whenever we have family in town, this is one of the first places we bring them… or we take them to their sister restaurant, The Switch in Dripping Springs, which is also A MUST! If you haven’t experienced Stiles n’ Switch yet, you’re absolutely missing out. Our go to's are the brisket, beef rib, pork belly, and turkey (basically the entire menu) and if there’s a monthly sausage, we always add that too. Even the fries are delicious! And don’t skip the creative sides like the cucumber tomato salad, sweet serrano fried Brussels sprouts, or cheesy tater tot casserole! Stiles n’ Switch is the real deal. Always has been, always will be!

In our visit for Austin I searched for good bbq spot, but I wanted plenty of side options for my kid and I was needing a good price as well. And might I add I didn’t want to wait in a long line lol I stumbled on this spot on my Google search and boy it did not disappoint!! We loved the hospitality, the staff was very nice and patient with us. The cashier was sweet and gave us lots of tips! My kid fell in love and states it’s his favorite now lol we will definitely make the drive back just for this place. We absolutely loved all of our food!

Talk about a taste of Austin, Texas! This original Stiles Switch location is such a phenomenal representation of everything unique and cool about this community. Seriously, the vibe and character are around every corner here. I already love the Cedar Park, Texas location, but whenever I'm in Austin, swinging by the original spot is a non-negotiable—and let me tell you, the consistency across both locations is next level! I was absolutely craving it and went straight for the classics: the incredible Beef Rib, perfectly seasoned Fries, and some killer Mac & Cheese. To top off the already great meal, the General Manager even helped me out outside, making the whole experience feel personal and truly exceptional. I love, love, love me some Stiles Switch! In town for work and we were super hungry. We decided to try this place to avoid waiting for the train to cross tracks in order to go to a different place we found online. Wow, I'm so glad we landed here instead!!!!! We had the ribs, brisket and jalapeno cheddar sausage. Also ordered Mac n cheese, brussel sprouts and corn casserole. Just wow. We really enjoyed everything...this is the first barbecue joint where I hardly touched the barbecue sauce. I also need to mention how amazing and friendly everyone was. We felt very welcomed as if I was stopping by at a friend's. I wish we lived closer!

A favorite among Austin locals for a reason. Best sides in the Texas BBQ scene with something for everyone. This isn’t just your typical cream corn and buttered new potatoes. They’ve got enough variety where even your vegetarian friend who insisted on coming won’t feel left out. Pork belly burnt ends are great. Try the wings if they got em too. Tres leches with marshmallow topping was incredible. Also the staff here is ridiculously nice and attentive. You will feel that hospitality. One of the servers gave an uber driver an extra dessert because she saw they were working hard that day.

At this point I don’t even care to rate about the food . Every staff that I encounter was AMAZING. That alone made the food and this place better. It’s wheelchair accessible. The brisket was hands down my favorite.

Stiles was not really high on my list of bbq places to try but I'm glad I did! I honestly think it's just as good as Terry Blacks or Franklins and there was almost not line to wait in. The pork ribs and burnt ends were really good and the beef ribs were incredible. They had a nice thick crust and they were super tender. The brisket was equally as good as the beef rib. Definitely check this place out.

Stiles Switch BBQ delivers the full Texas barbecue experience—but what really impressed me was how great the veggie options were too! Of course, the coleslaw with deep flavor and perfect texture. But I was surprised by how thoughtful the vegetarian sides were. The mac and cheese, corn casserole, green beans, and potato salad were all delicious and satisfying. Even if you’re not eating meat, you’ll still walk out happy and full. The vibe is laid-back and classic Texas, and the staff are super friendly and helpful.

Looking for delicious BBQ in Austin without the long wait times? Stiles Switch is absolutely worth checking out. We ordered the 3-meat plate, which comes with two sides. For our meats, we went with the St. Louis pork ribs, Switch original sausage, and prime brisket. The ribs were the standout—moist, flavorful, and fall-off-the-bone good. The sausage came in second: well-seasoned with a nice snap. The brisket, while still tasty, was a bit on the dry side for our liking. For sides, we had the serrano glazed Brussels sprouts and mac & cheese. The mac & cheese was forgettable, but the Brussels sprouts were excellent—crispy with just the right amount of heat. We finished with their banana pudding, which was a perfect ending—creamy, nostalgic, and not overly sweet.

Austin has been recognized by multiple organizations as the top BBQ destination in the United States.  Often, two family-owned BBQ restaurants, Frankin’s and Terry Black’s, are the first two names most often mentioned when people suggest where to get BBQ in the city.  They have earned that reputation with decades of outstanding service and the production of literally tons of really good meats and other fixings. With that said, there are some outstanding BBQ restaurants and food trucks in the city cooking up mouth-watering meats that are worthy of recognition and support. Stiles Switch BBQ and Brew is one of those organizations.  It operates three locations - Dripping Springs, Cedar Park and on Lamar Boulevard in North Austin. I visited the Lamar Blvd. location twice over the past two weeks and tried multiple offerings. As in most BBQ establishments, brisket is king, and Stiles Switch sells a lot of it. Smoked perfectly, you can get it moist or drier.  Buy it by the half pound for $17 or as I prefer it in a Meat Plate (1 meat $20.95 – 2 meats $25.95 – 3 meats $31.95).  I always recommend trying brisket if you have never had Texas BBQ.  If you are a veteran, I also recommend it, because it's both my favorite, and I feel if you can do that well, the other meats will fall in line. Stiles Switch offers sausage, smoked turkey, pork ribs, pulled pork, smoked pork belly burnt ends, and smoked chicken as other choices for the meat plate. I chose the 2-Meat Plate, going with the brisket and the pork burnt ends.  My sides were the macaroni and cheese and the potato salad.  On my second visit, I tried their Smokehouse Club, which had brisket, turkey, cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce, and a chipotle garlic aioli. Their brisket is very tender, even the leaner cuts, which I requested for my plate. The bark had a sweet, smokey smell and tasted wonderful. I also was impressed with their macaroni and cheese, which was really creamy. Extra cheese got stuck in the curve of the mini shells. The Club was huge with a generous amount of brisket and turkey.  All the flavors melded together, and the aioli complemented the meats with the right amount of spice. Dip it in their meat sauce to make it even better. BTW- I went there on Tuesday for their Cuban Sandwich Special. Apparently, it is not an every week special, only at certain times.  Note: Check out their website for the weekly specials so you too won't be disappointed. I spoke to Tom, who was the manager on duty, about what he thought made Stiles Switch different from other places. He said that they offer a number of different side dishes that are not found at other places like the Serrano Fries Brussel Sprouts, Cheesy Tater Tot Casserole, Corn Casserole and a  Cucumber Tomato Salad. He added that while it sounds cliché, every employee at Stiles Switch is dedicated to making sure each customer has a good experience every time they visit.  They appreciate people choosing to spend their hard-earned cash at the restaurant. I had a good experience at Stiles Switch, and with people like Tom and their fantastic food line-up, I'm sure you will too.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stiles Switch BBQ absolutely delivered! The pork ribs were exactly as described—sweet heat with a perfect balance. Just the right touch of heat followed by a splash of sweet that keeps you reaching for more. The turkey? Honestly, one of the best I’ve ever had. I hope Terry Black’s doesn’t see this… Now, the Honey BBQ wings—they smoked the “cousin wings” we’ve been loyal to for nearly a decade. Total game-changer. And the mac and cheese? It took me straight back to Thanksgiving dinner with every bite. Can’t give more than 5 stars, so 5 it is—but this spot deserves a bonus star in spirit. 🔥🍖🧀

Stiles Switch might not have been our first choice for BBQ, but it was the RIGHT choice. All I have to say is... I can't believe it took me this long to try them out. Three of us stopped in for a Saturday lunch. The staff was SUPER friendly and got us through the line quickly. We all split several items and loved each one. I honestly can't say which things we liked more. MEATS - Pork Belly Burnt Ends (moist with a tasty side sauce) - Pimento Cheese Sausage (sausage of the month which deserves to be a menu staple honestly... - Pork Ribs (fell right off the bone) - Turkey (heavenly moist) - Brisket (super flavorful and moist) SIDES - Coleslaw (classic crunchy goodness) - Mac n' Cheese (creamy shells, reminded me a lot of Velveeta which is super nostalgic for me) - Brussel Sprouts (spicy and crispy) - Tater Tot Casserole (cheesy and delicious) - Beans (Great flavor for being vegetarian) Looking at their Instagram makes me want to go back regularly for all their amazing specials. In and out in 40 minutes, which was a plus. 3 meat platter: brisket, pork ribs, sausage, tater tot casserole, and Brussels sprout’s. The sausage and Brussel sprouts were my favorite of what I got. Maybe I’m just not a fan of massively produced smoked meats that are kept warm, but this place wasn’t for me. Friendly and helpful staff, plenty of seating.

I’ve been eating Texas brisket every time I come to Austin and by now I would say try the other samplings on the menu bc brisket is pretty much even among all the bbq joints. Go for their wings and picanha when it’s available. The spare ribs and mac and cheese did not disappoint.
