Heather Eason made me feel so welcomed, she explained the drinks so well & recommended great food!
Loved Vinaigrette! Great vibe, gorgeous patio under a splendid old tree, delicious food and personable service. Will go again for sure on my next visit to Austin. Second 5* place in a day, lucky lucky me!
Vinaigrette makes you forget you're being virtuous. The salads are creative and delicious, the protein options go beyond chicken and steak to include tender pork and seared sea scallops and there are great sandwiches too. The giant oak by the patio provides a cool canopy of shade, but if you need help cooling off there are both mocktails and cocktails. The Vinny Margarita with grapefruit is scrumptious.
Lovely ambience dining out under an old oak tree. Parking is available at weekday lunch hour. The server is welcoming and prompt, restaurant is clean. The salad ordered is named “beet to go”, it’s crunchy and ingredients are fresh. Order a tuna steak on my salad, it was delish. Price is kinda at high side, but is a healthy, fresh quality meal to go for.
If you are coming here for a ton of salad options that are absolutely amazing, you have come to the right place. I was skeptical of this place because I’ve never been to a restaurant dedicated to only salads but man do they do salads well! They accommodated a reservation of an extremely large group. The service was wonderful, the drinks were great and the salad was perfect. I tried a couple salads of other family members and they were all delicious. I don’t think a single person had a complaint. Not to mention, the salads are fairly big and you leave feeling full.
I love the outdoor dining! The live oak tree is stunning! The service is always friendly, and helpful. The food always makes me feel so healthy and nourished. Great place to go when you want a healthy option! Their juices are great as well!
have been meaning to try this place for awhile. finally did and the food was delicious. the house made cherry cola was insanely good, and as a mushroom lover i was so happy mushrooms are a big part of the seasonal menu right now. but the most impressive part was our waitress heather. she has such a warm magnetic personality and knew EVERYTHING about every item/ingredient on the menu without having to even pause to think about it! she was so genuine and truly the best.
Nothing beats eating under the grandest oak tree in all of Austin, with old friends, great weather, and excellent food and drinks.
There were so many options, I just couldn't decide! I told the server, they should offer a "salad flight" Haha. The price was great considering healthy options tend to be pricier. The music was at a good volume. I hate it when I have to yell at my husband because the music is too loud. Will definitely be going back. We really wanted to sit on the patio, but it was just too hot outside, but the patio looked very nice.
Vinaigrette is always a great go to restaurant when you just want a darn good healthy meal. I love the Liver Love drink for a good pick me up & the kale fritters are a must have. Kale salad was a little “over anchovied”, next time I will ask for less, however, it was still delicious. Tuna salad sandwich was on point! Love the clean atmosphere and the giant tree on the patio.
If I could create my ideal restaurant, it would be exactly this (except maybe add some ice cream sundaes). Fresh, delicious, and creative meals with a focus on nutrient dense options. The team was warm and friendly. The food came out quickly. The restaurant is beautiful. Highly recommend it!
Unique and fresh menu ! Overall friendly staff, clean open restaraunt, cozy patio and great food with healthy options. It is a bit pricey and busy for a typical lunch during work . But for the special occasion lunch or weekend get together this place would be great! Very refreshing to have such a big selection of well made salads ! Love Austin and all of our unique restaraunts
I am a repeat customer here and have never been let down by their food or service. They have an outstanding selection of HEALTHY and DELICIOUS choices, AMAZING QUALITY food overall. The drink menu is fantastic. The atmosphere is modern scandinavian boho chic, very cute garden aesthetic outside. The Ruben sandwich is outstanding, every salad I have tried is fantastic, and the mushrooms with whipped goat cheese and toast are to die for. Amazing location and great parking lot too with covered parking options. Staff is always incredibly friendly!!
Highly recommend for a nice casual dining affair or an intimate night out ( theres a great table for two in the backyard situated all by itself in a quaint semi pvt setting. Food is fabulously healthy, fresh, and endazzling on the palate! Thee best, highest quality, meatballs Ive ever had in years! Bon Apetite
The food was really good and the staff was very friendly. The only thing that I had any issue with was the mac and cheese noodles were overcooked. At the table we had a couple different soups, salads and the Mac and cheese. Everything was flavored really well. They also say that tipping is not necessary because they pay their staff a fair amount, you can still leave a tip if you want. I love that!
It’s by far my most favorite salad restaurant in Austin. Well designed and has amazing outdoor patio in the back with a huge oak tree in the middle. Plenty of parking in their lot and streets around the restaurant. I ordered the “The beet goes on” with baby artichokes and a Ginger Turmeric Tonic drink. Their salads might cost a bit extra, but the restaurant is tip-less, so it’s evens out.
I was looking for something healthy. I’m glad I stumbled upon this place. Love the vibe inside and outside. The thunder storm rolling in only added to the ambience. I had the Brussels and grilled chicken salad that is currently their specials. The Thai Brussels were stupid good. 10/10 recommend.
Cocktails and tonics like nowhere else. I travel from DFW to brunch here under the big beautiful tree. Food is also good, but it used to be more unique. I miss the teff cakes.
Heather T with a bright and sunny deposition, was our waiter and we never wanted for anything! She was busy, too! The food was phenomenal as were the cocktails. It was our first time there but won't be our last.
Just tried vinaigrette for the first time the other time and have been back 3x since. Food is incredible, healthy and delicious! Love the clean stylish inside but the beautiful patio is my favorite part. There is a 700 year old tree out there!! Special thanks to Heather who was our server. She made our experience that much better. Wonderful and hilarious personality. She made us feel so comfortable and made the best suggestions. Plus I love her love for animals 💖
Excellent food and venue. Parking is not difficult at all, tables are social distancingly put. Flowers are fresh and beautiful. We had juices , a brunch menu steak and eggs, Frisee Salad, all excellent. Not cheap but deserve the price (tipless restaurant but with table service!). Def would recommend and come back.
We had been in a heat wave but on this day we found "paradise " here at Vinaigrette restaurant within this Jewel of the Nile. Our wonderful journey began beautifully with our excellent server "Reed! His professionalism allowed us to partake within this oasis to soak in our lunch equally experience our first rainfall of this Summer's heatwave and our wonderful lunch. Simply enjoyable, the food was great, the service (REED) was undeniably excellent.
It’s totally what they advertise for. Healthy, tasty, fresh salads! They have a lot of option for every taste. The outside place is amazing with a big old tree. We tried all desserts and they are homemade and tasty. They have true espresso, a pleasure! If you want something healthy and lighter, perfect place to go. It’s get busy so don’t come to late.
Love this place! We've gone there twice already and we'll keep coming back until we try everything on the menu Their thing is fancy, funky salads. They have a wide variety and you can mix it with different types of protein (fish, scallops, chicken, steak). This time I got the "Eat Your Peas" salad and it was delicious. Their cocktails and desserts are not shabby either. Great outdoor space. A huge live oak tree providing lots of shade. Not much you can do about the humidity in the summer though It's off of Congress Ave but not the super busy parts so lots of parking available (including on the street right in front). This place is great for those hot summer days, or when you feel like eating something lighter.
Absolutely loved this place! So nice to indulge and feel completely guilt free. Service is great, super friendly staff. Beautiful, large outdoor space. Salads were generously portioned and had tons of flavor - we got The Nutty-Pearfessor and Eat Your Peas with lemon herb chicken, and an order of the Kale Fritters, which were so scrumptious and delicious I can eat those everyday (no joke). Hours later we were still full & satisfied. Great selection of non-alcoholic beverages and tonics, as well as cocktails and wine. Will definitely be back!
I really enjoyed this place for a quick bite. The salads looked excellent, but I went with the Reuben. So good, one of the best I have had. I love how all the salads are customizable with your protein of choice. Very chill vibe and blends into Austin very well with excellent service and great food. Parking was ample as well.
Wow! What a spectacular experience. All of our food was delicious, and fresh. Everything is made in house, which adds a special touch to each dish. Service was good, and menu prices are higher to accommodate a tipless system. The option to leave a tip is still available. The place was neat & clean, and staff was very friendly and helpful. I will come back for dinner soon, I am certain the atmosphere will be beautiful at night. There is indoor and outdoor seating available
This was our second visit to Austin and we specifically looked up Vinaigrette, because we were blown away last October. The main menu is very varied, vegetarian, if not vegan heaven, but if you crave a protein, they have it, and it's delicious! Last time it was the scrumptious duck tacos, and the thick and flavorful gumbo. This time I went with the slightly spicy, creamy on the inside, and crunchy Cuban Torta and others in the group had the crunchy Beets Go On and Salacho. Thus time, again, we ordered and thoroughly enjoyed their creative drinks: Piña Rostizada and That Green Drink. The place itself has an amazing vibe and while we didn't sit outside, the huge tree and its canopy creates a wonderful atmosphere even for us, seated in a wide open interior eatery. We're coming back the third time. And the forth and fifth. And... You get the point!
It can be so hard to find a healthy place to go for lunch, which is why I was thrilled to find Vinaigrette! I met a girlfriend for lunch here and will gladly go back. The salads are fresh and delicious and the people who work here are just lovely. I can’t wait to go back on a weekend to try a cocktail or two. If you’re wondering if you should go here - just go and thank me later!
One of the best and most creative menus in Austin, we had a hard time choosing. The Cobb salad was sooo good. I substituted feta for blue cheese. Although the portions are large, I couldn’t stop and ate the whole salad. My friend had the kale salad and added a piece of salmon. Most salads have the option to add a protein and all were so tempting that we will have to go back soon to try more of them. The service was fantastic. A spilled drink was quickly cleaned and another provided. The wait staff was so nice! My only complaint is the noise level inside was loud even midafternoon. I would have preferred an outside table most likely in their beautiful garden but scorching temperatures kept us inside. This is a great restaurant for casual or special occasions.
What a wonderful place. We ate in the back patio under a huge oak tree with pretty lighting. Jerry was extremely inviting and helpful. The frisee and chop chop salads were delicious. As were the roasted veggies. Highly recommend. Especially, after a few days of heavy BBQ tastings. 😃
I was craving a salad, and this place didn't disappoint. There are so many flavors and toppings and options that you wouldn't think of or prepare yourself, and they're so delicious. They also have mocktails, which is great. It's a beautiful restaurant inside, and they have a huge backyard/patio that's dog friendly in the back too.
Vinaigrette is the antidote to a BBQ hangover. Beautiful patio, the salads were delicious and generous portions. We had the frisée and the chop chop, with a side of roasted vegetables and mushroom stew. Every dish was perfectly prepared. And Gerry provided attentive service with helpful recommendations, and a super welcoming vibe.
Great job with our office lunch today! Fresh, delicious food, labeled & ready on time. We love supporting women-owned local businesses. Recommend 💎
I love this place. I love salad, and theirs are amazing. My favorite is the asian chop, so delicious. Great drinks too. They always seat me quickly and have really nice servers. The tofu is so good, the way they season and grill it is perfection. And off-topic but they have the best tree in austin. The entire outdoor seating area is shaded by a single MASSIVE and gorgeous tree. Such a great vibe, I love eating salad under that magical tree.
Vinaigrette never disappoints! I dropped in around 4:30 pm and had the best experience. A huge shout-out to Heather (the 'night' one!) for her truly amazing service. She was incredibly kind and attentive during the few hours I was there. Service like that is why I keep coming back. She deserves all the praise!
Previously we had only done pick up orders which were all great but last night was my first time dining in. The outdoor space has a wonderful ambiance and is dog friendly. The food was fantastic and I loved our server - I think her name was Heather. Definitely worth your time and money.
This little spot is nestled away from the main road by a block or so, and it really makes a difference in the vibe of this place! You look outside to see a small field, and they do have a patio! Me and my girlfriend both got salads, and the presentation was definitely insta-worthy! They ball up all of the toppings in the center of the plate. The drinks were good as well, but in my opinion, slightly overpriced for what you get. I would say it's a mid-price range place, as our bill for two people was over $80.
Such a great spot! The salad was fresh and delicious, and the Pimm’s Cup was one of the best I’ve had. The patio is spacious and comfortable — perfect for relaxing on a nice day. Even better, they’re dog-friendly, which made it even more enjoyable. Great food, great drinks, and a great vibe. Can’t wait to come back!
This place was amazing. The salad was big and filling. It is pretty pricey but it was worth it. I ordered the beet goes on salad with steak and it was great. I also order the liver lover drink. There was a lot of cayenne and it was a bit spicier than I would have liked but if you like a spiced kick then you’ll love that drink. The staff was wonderful and so friendly. We sat outside in the grass area and it was beautifully arranged. I would definitely recommend and I hope to go back soon.
One of my favorite types of restaurant atmospheres. Fresh, delicious food. Wonderful service Focaccia bread 5/5 - only $2! Fluffy bread with the perfect crunch Soup of the day 5/5 - baked potato w/ bacon & green onions. I liked how straightforward it was, add your own touch of salt La pepita salad 4/5 Mac n cheese 3/5 - the cheeses are a bit bland for my taste Grilled artichokes 5/5 - cooked perfectly, loved the lemon on them Black bean & kale nachos 5/5 Such a cute austin find 🥰
I would travel mountains and oceans just to have another bite of the beet salad (The Beet Goes On). Amazing taste, the combination of the goat cheese that melts in your mouth and pistachios that give you a crunchy texture is spectacular. We also had the Asian Chopped Salad, and it left us refreshed and ready to slay. Really nice vibe, especially outside, great service from JerBear. We will come again at night time to eat in the backyard when it is lit up.
Beautiful, modern space with pops of color inside and lovely, relaxing seating nestled under a wonderful oak tree outside are the perfect setting for a delicious, fresh salad or sandwich. Their drinks are inspired. The salads are beautiful. Try the tuna salad salad for a delicious meal. Their seasonal salads are also wonderful as well.
Fresh and tasty. Highly recommend this place and the patio is very nice. The duck tacos are great and so are the sandwiches, the gumbo and the duck arugula salad. It's lighter fare but you will not leave hungry. Cuban torta was really good (but it was a take on a Cuban sandwich, just setting expectations that it wasn't the traditional dish).
Modern, airy spot with near perfect outdoor seating. Fresh ingredients and some adventurous takes on what is essentially salad greens and proteins. The mocktails are good, but lack pizazz. We've been twice and everything has been good. Tips are built into the pricing, so don't let the price structure turn you off. The service is very good!
Very creative, tasty salads! I loved the pear one and had a difficult time deciding between all the choices! I'll definitely eat here again. Only negative is the music was a little loud, but I'm old so maybe I'm wrong!
If your looking for a healthy place to eat with flavor this is the place. Clean place comfortable indoor and out door seating. The food was great we wanted something healthy and filling. We left stuffed. The friess salad was so good, the pork lardons had a smoked flavor delicious salad. It was filling. The arugula duck salad was very good as well but we felt like it was missing a crunch. Very filling and delicious. Can’t wait to go back and try more dishes.
I had the peach and prosciutto salad with burrata, it was delicious and super filling. The atmosphere was nice and felt comfortable. The only issue I had was the fact that I went there to kill some time between classes, work on some homework, etc. but when I asked the waiter for the wifi password he said they don't have public wifi (despite there being no less than 4 vinaigrette wifi networks). Just thought it wasn't a smart business move since I left shortly afterwards rather than spending several hours there where I would likely have ordered more than one item. Instead, I quickly finished my food and left to find somewhere that I could spend some time at while getting some work done.
I’ve lived near to this restaurant for a couple of years before finally giving it a try. It’s tasty but a bit overpriced for what it is. Most salads will run you over $20 and they charge $2 for bread. If you want to add proteins to your salad you’re easily approaching $30 for a salad that fills about 1/2 - 2/3 a dinner plate. The menu is creative and the food is good, but it’s definitely more of a dining destination than a place to hang out - which is what their location is more set up for (similar to say a Bouldin Creek cafe). They also don’t have WiFi and charge a (small, 2%) kitchen appreciation fee which you have to pay attention to the receipt to notice. If I’m in the mood for a fancy salad and a more upscale dining experience this is definitely the spot for it. A bit pricey for a quick salad and a drink spot, though.
What a beautiful place. We sat outside. The tree provides a wonderful natural awning & a backyard vibe. Drinks were delicious, hearty & full of flavor. I got the The Nutty Pear-Fessor salad, was good but thought bacon & blue cheese could have been larger chunks. My friend got the Apple-cheddar chop salad and we were both disappointed in the lack of flavor.
I had the beet goes on, goat cheese, arugula, and beets ... can never go wrong with that combo! The pepino was a very delicious refreshing drink, very light flavor which I particularly enjoy. I wouldn't recommend the mushroom stew, and some of the foods can be on the spicier side so check ahead of time. Tried all 3 desserts, the chocolate torte was really rich and delicious. The atmosphere was the best part!
I’ve had a bunch of people recommend this place, so I really wanted to love it—but honestly, it was just okay. The kale nachos were the only thing I actually liked. I also tried the mushroom soup, which was way too salty, and the tuna melt, which had barely any flavor. Super bland. The biggest letdown was the service. The three women working there looked like they didn’t want to be there at all. Not friendly, not helpful, just kind of cold. One of them, with curly blonde hair, had it down and kept touching it nonstop—not very sanitary when you’re around food. I don’t think I saw any of them smile the whole time. I might give it another shot, but I'll probably order a salad to-go.
So my wife and I love to come here for dinner and usually always have a great experience and I’ll still come here. Just don’t come here if your looking for a small lunch. I asked for just a 1/2 portion of salad and there was an older lady that was real short and not that nice (usually everyone else I’ve dealt with have been so nice, I’m thinking it’s just been hard to find quality workers). She said I can only have a small portion of a few different salads. I said ok. Just got me a caeser side salad w/ chicken. Came out to $16. Ok cool this must be a decent sized salad. I was wrong. It had 5 leaves of lettuce, 10 cherry tomatoes, cheese and dressing. On top of it was a small 1/4” chicken breast. SO all in all come here for a nice dinner but definitely not for lunch haha.
Space was ADORABLE but the food was un memorable. Would love to try it again because we really wanted to love this place
All by itself, with tax and tip, I paid about $36 for this kale salad with four shrimp. That's it. That's my review.
We ordered the beet goes on salad since it was recommended by our server cuz of its popularity but honestly it was just too leafy and sweet for us. We had the garden veggie soup and mushroom soup both of which lacked flavour- had to add so much more salt and pepper. The only dish that stood out for us were the jalapeno poppers and the tropical punch soda which was on their specials 🙌🏻
I ordered out! They were very quick & friendly. I ordered the Asian salad with tuna. You get 3oz of tuna with the order and my total was $35 for just the salad & meat add on. It was a great salad but not any better than the others around that have very similar items for a much lesser price tag. I don’t think I’ll be coming again for a takeaway lunch but definitely want to come back to check out their cocktails. The menu looks amazing.
Been coming here for a couple years. The food has always been really good - consistently so. That's the good news. However... I came for a to go order tonight. Apparently they have added an automatic gratuity of 15% to any order over $100. Not crazy about that (note that whenever I eat in, I always tip at least 20%), but hey - I guess that's their new policy. My order came to $98 and some change. With their automatic kitchen surcharge of about $2, that brought my total to $100 and some change, which brought my total to $115 and some change. What??? How is an added charge (which I have no issue with, btw) factored in a to go order to bring a total to the point that an automatic gratuity is incurred?? Again, if I was eating in the restaurant, where I was being served, I have no issue at all. But a to-go order? I was told that "it's their policy". Well, my policy is that I don't patronize places that I believe are attempting to nickel and dime me. This experience tonight genuinely makes me never want to come here ever again. It's a shame, because I really liked this place.I’m
This place has a good variety of salads, but I feel like they nickle and dime you for everything here. My asian chop salad was almost $20 with no meat on it, and to add chicken was an extra $8. On top of this, they charge you a "kitchen appreciation fee" and "packaging fee" if you're ordering to go which I think is completely ridiculous and unprofessional given their prices.
I usually love Vinaigrette but I had the grossest salad yesterday. And I pretty much love every type of salad. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because I should have paid more attention to the fact that the All Kale Caesar description shows that there will be anchovies in the dressing (normal and great for a caesar) but also on the actual salad. (I missed that part of the description.) Little clumps of them all over. So many anchovies. Again, anchovy paste in a caesar salad - awesome. Clumps of anchovies all over a salad - I can't imagine that more than 1% of the population would enjoy that. I felt like I was eating the bottom of the ocean. No amount of Marcona almonds (there were just slivers anyway) can make up for that.
Nothing like spending an extra $5 on a simple to-go chicken salad from hidden fees. A 3% container fee? 2% kitchen fee? 10% gratuity to have someone grab the box from the kitchen and bring it to me? Why not charge for the dishwasher’s time and for the UPS guy that dropped off the ingredients at that point? Not to mention this is already an overpriced restaurant. They definitely lost me as a customer today.
Food is great but service is awful. The place is as dead when we came in but took forever to get someone to come around. Basically had to flag her down. No greetings. Then after we finally we got some drinks it took her forever to come around and take a food order. After we got food, no one ever came back around to ask if wanted water or more cocktails. They could have made so much more money. If I was the owner I’d fire whoever was working tonight.
Visited Austin for a concert with my boyfriend and was craving a salad/sandwich combo. One of my friends recommended this place, so we decided to try it out. Food was good, kale fritters (i think that’s what they’re call) were really good!! But the customer service was so bad. :/ We got sat, our waitress (white Female) took a while to come to our table, but I understand that sometimes you get busy since I am a server myself. Once she got to the table, she did not introduce herself and just asked us what we wanted to drink, we both said waters since we were still looking at the menu and it was our first time there. She then proceeded with “any kale fritters?” I politely declined and said we will keep looking at the menu, but thank you. She then rolled her eyes at us and turned around. I looked at my boyfriend with my eyes wide open and so did he, we were actually in shock since we are always so polite to our servers, and this was the first time this happened to us. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt, maybe she was having a bad day. But, right behind us was were two girls (white F), and they were politely greeted, and receiving good customer service throughout their visit. It was obvious that the audience were white customers, and we were the only hispanics there. Since I am a server, I know other servers stereotype latinos to be really bad tippers, so they tend to give bad customer service. It’s really disappointing to think that, but that’s usually how it is. We still tipped 20%, but due to the customer service we had, we will not be going back, which is unfortunate because we actually enjoyed the food and drinks.
Flavors were there but so were the produce stickers. I paid $25 for a salad with a little pork chop on it, an apple sticker cut into 5 bite sized pieces which makes me wonder if it had even been washed... I think I'll hold off next time. After calling to just mention the fact that I had spit out part of an apple sticker, not asking for anything in return or even a refund. I dont think it was too much to expect at least a hint of empathy or an offer to remake the salad would have been so appreciated. Instead I felt like I was talking to an angsty teenager who was mad at me and very quick to get off the phone.
First time customers here. Made the mistake of asking questions about the menu and was immediately met with attitude as if I should know what was on their menu. Hostess was nice. Bartender was rude and gave bad vibes acting as if it was above her pay grade to explain what was on their menu. The overpriced salads are not worth the annoyed vibes of the staff. If people are paying top dollar for food, then provide top tier customer service.
This is a $36 salad. Romaine lettuce, corn, onions, & tomatoes. Service fee is automatically applied, kitchen staff fee is automatically applied, 10% tip automatically applied. Container fee!? An absolute joke. Salad only came with one container of dressing. There are plenty of other ways to spend $40 in Austin.
