I saw this place in a YouTube video. We didn’t realize it opened after 11 a.m., but luckily we made it just in time for a late lunch or early dinner , and it was worth the wait! The food was fantastic, the vibe was cozy and relaxed, and the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. Although it’s a small spot, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. It’s a Mexican and seafood restaurant, and we tried the chicken nachos , the chicken was packed with flavor. We also had the calamari with fries, which was fresh and perfectly cooked. The creamy white dipping sauce they served on the side was so delicious we asked for more! We also sampled a few cocktails, and the staff was super flexible. I initially ordered a Bahama Mama but didn’t enjoy it, so they kindly let me switch to the local specialty, Buffalo Milk , and it was amazing. Located right across from the ferry terminal, this place is the perfect final stop before heading back home with good memories and a full stomach. Highly recommended!

Bright and colorful with a laid-back, beachy vibe — tiki style. It’s a great spot to grab casual drinks with friends and soak in its unique character. The drinks are definitely the highlight — strong, creative, and really well made. The whole place just felt really good — the kind of spot where the drinks hit right and the vibe makes you want to stay a little longer.

Whilst on port during our cruise stop, we had lunch at this place and loved it. We got coconut shrimp, fish and chips and the beef sandwich. Also ordered a pina colada. Food was delicious and generous portions. Nice hip vibe with a cute decor. Our server Vanessa was friendly and attentive. Had a great time! If you are in port, definitely try them out.

First time going there. We were lucky that is wasn’t busy AT ALL. We actually got to sit the little cave!! This place can get VERY BUSY so try to get there early if you don’t like loud party people! We ordered COCONUT BATTERED SHRIMP Served with a spicy-mango sauce and cole slaw....for 19.95 and it was AMAZING! We also split a FRENCH DIP HONI SANDWICH Piles of roast beef on a french roll with au jus for $16.50 Everything was tasty! I would definitely come back again!!!

The sashimi was a solid 4, the cesear salad a 3. The service was good and atmosphere upbeat. It was very busy but the pacing was good.

Ambiance: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Food: Drinks: 4/5 Price: 4/5 Parking: Cute, local, tiki inspired bar in Catalina. Didn't have any food so didn't rate anything there. The whole area is walkable so no rating there either. Service was fast and the bartenders were great!

To quote a Harry Potter expression: Exceeded Expectations! We were debating between here and Buffalo Nickel and decided to come here since it is closer and has more variety on their menu. We had to wait about 5 minutes to get a table at around 7 pm, which is not bad at all. The ambiance is an indoor tiki bar, with shack-like straw decor, some booths and some tables. I liked it! The menu is a mix of appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, pizza and salads, with a long list of their signature cocktails. We ordered the clam chowder, the crab cakes, the sausage pizza and the Estrella (a pilsner) and a Spicy Mexican Lollipop to drink. If you order their Wiki Whacker, you get a straw hat or a sticker, which is a cool incentive to order this fairly deadly looking drink by my standards! The clam chowder was excellent! It was thick, not very salty and full of clams, which didn't seem to come out of a can, likely we see with typical clam chowders. The only negative was the potatoes, which could've done with 1 more minute of boiling. This is definitely one of the top clam chowders I have had on the West Coast. The sausage pizza was delicious - cheesy, good bread crust (not too thick, not too thin, not too crunchy, not too gooey), and absolutely delicious sausage pieces. The menu said it is a management favorite and I see why! We got the 9 inch size and we still had 2 pieces left between the two of us. The crab cakes came last on our list and are a reason for giving this place 4 stars instead of 4.5 stars. There was too much breading and the crab meat itself needs more seasoning and a nice spice mix. The coleslaw, the tartar sauce and the oyster sauce accompanying the crab cakes were all great! The drinks were excellent too. I definitely recommend getting the Spicy Mexican Lollipop - it is a primary mango flavored drink with spicy Tabasco and tahini mixed in. It tastes like a mangonada but so much better. The Pilsner was great too. Given its location on the main boardwalk, we expected the pricing to be higher, but it was actually quite reasonable. Service was good and we had fun. We definitely recommend coming here for an evening of food and drinks if in Catalina!

CHECK YOUR GRATUITY! We’ve been here a few times with our boys over the years and were excited to pop in on our recent visit however the experience was not what we‘be come to expect. Apps were good but cocktail drinks were weak. Staff seemed irritated, possibly due to holiday tourism? Environment is always cool! Unfortunately(for us)they received a double tip due to not being aware of the added gratuity. We had two parties, seated at two separate tables yet they combined the receipt. We asked for it to be separated(as we were dining separately) which frustrated the waitress so we said don’t worry-we’ll figure it out on our own. The gratuity was pre calculated and added to bill however we were not made aware. They ended up with a 40% tip!

My wife and I stopped by Luau Larry’s as part of her surprise Catalina vacation. After finishing dinner at Bluewater Grill, we decided to do a little bar crawl, and Luau Larry’s was our first stop. The place definitely has a fun vibe. There’s a super cool table in the back that’s shaped like a cave, and that alone made it worth checking out—we chose that table right away. The ambience is great and exactly what you’d expect from a laid-back island bar. We only came for drinks, so I can’t speak on the food. We ordered two drinks: a strawberry margarita and a bong water shooter. Unfortunately, both were pretty bad. The drinks were way too sweet, and whatever they use in the margarita ended up giving both of us stomach aches, which obviously cut our visit short. The service was okay—our waiter was decent and we had no issues there. Overall, it’s a cool spot with great atmosphere, and maybe the food is better than the drinks, but based on our experience, the cocktails were not it. Because of that, we finished our drinks and moved on to the next stop.

Burrito

It seemed to me as one of the more popular Bars on the island. Always packed and full of people even at closing. Still with the volume of people the bar tenders readily get you your drinks. Im not sure how you get one, but people are there for the Hats. Goodplace for a lively Vibe. I had a mezcal Jamaica which tastes great!

We had dinner at Luau Larry’s and we must admit: service was great, drinks were amazing. We ordered a Clam Chowder and it was loaded with potatoes, so many that there was no soup at all. we also ordered a mixed platter and it was ok. Food was nothing extraordinary. Music and location were awesome. It’s a great spot t stop for drinks.
