A little slow on service but i don’t think I understood that I needed to order at the counter. The seafood gumbo was great! Potato salad and everything. !!!

In case you were wondering how big the fried fish pieces are. And tasted fantastic. Good cornmeal crust, none of that dirty fishy taste.

Wow! The decor is awesome, the tables are super cool. The food was absolutely awesome!!!! Prices are good and the service is fantastic. Definitely go!

Yummy & delicious cheeseburgers! I had their cheeseburger with only mayo and cheese only for to-go and a side of French fries. When I first ate the cheeseburger, the texture of the burger's was very similar to a fluffy and soft pancake, which is delicious! I would consider going back to this place because it was absolutely delicious! This is my new favorite burger shop! I recommend it! Their burgers buns are by far amazing! It is like homemade buns and tastes so good!

Great people and great food! Third time here and have never had a problem with service or an issue with the food at all. Ask for their new boudin egg roll and jalapeno ranch dip! Delicious!🌝

Great place to to eat. Friendly staff and enjoyable atmosphere. I ordered a small platter. It consist of Fries, hushpuppys, 2 chicken strips, 2 fish fillets, and 2 Shrimp (option to grill or fry). My food came out fresh and hot. I enjoyed all the it except the chicken strips. They were not bad but I've had better. Overall great experience.

The chicken and sausage gumbo is great. Potato salad is not on the menu, but they have it. Wouldn't be real gumbo without it.

Stopped here today for the 1st time. I got seafood platter. The shrimp was amazing!!! Fish was good , I didn't care for the stuffed crab. I subbed potato salad for the fries. It was good. The tater sauce was some of the best ive ever had. Husband got bayou chiladis, he said was good, the shrimp was delicious. The white rice he didn't care for so much. Overall a good experience. Very friendly staff.

The Bayou Cafe on N Major has a nice front staff and great customer service, however we were disappointed with the chicken and sausage gumbo. The chicken and sausage was ok but the roux was completely burnt which was off putting. As you are sipping the gumbo sauce it tasted burnt and bitter. I ordered 4 large containers for my Mardi Gras event and it was not what we expected. I ended up having to throw 2 of the containers of gumbo away so sad. Unfortunately will not be returning.

Average at best. The gumbo was the worst I have ever had. Fried fish was good. I do usually leave a negative review but both times I have been there it was “average”. Will not be back.

I got a stuffed crab with the bayou seafood platter on 10/31, and it was spoiled, the smell and taste were clearly off. A few hours after eating, I became extremely sick.

I ordered the Bouton platter to go and literally everything was burned . The chicken tenders were burned and fried in the same grease as the fish . I tried to call before posting my review but the line was cut off at 7:20 even though the restaurant closes at 8pm. I am very dissatisfied and disappointed.

Never again & I'll tell anyone I know the same. I don't think I've ever given a 1 star review but when you order & never receive your food when you're the only people sitting down to have a meal in there.... then yeah 1 star. My Husband & I ordered boudin eggrolls, gumbo & seafood enchiladas. We got the eggrolls & gumbo quickly (the gumbo was meh at best consisting of 100% of premade jarred roux & was full of hard rubbery shrimp). We waited & waited for the enchiladas. My husband shared his gumbo with me while we watched at least 10+ to go orders walk out the door. Still no enchiladas. I asked my husband to go ahead & finish his meal & just get a refund for mine. He went to the counter & asked if my meal was ever even made. The girl says "oh it never came out to you?" Again, we were the only people sitting waiting for food at a table so you didn't care to look & see that I wasn't eating? I'm too freaking tired to even express how angry I am since they were so flippant about it. We should've been apologized too & offered a full refund but at least we received the refund for my meal. We hadn't been to this restaurant in many many years because we didn't care for the food & were wanting to give them another shot tonight. Nope! Now I'm waiting for my dinner at another establishment.

Well I was supposed to get four shrimp I got two, and The fish is skinny. It's a good thing I'm not very hungry. This is exactly what it looked like whenever I opened the container. I am so disappointed.
