AMAZING noodles!! (⁎⁍̴̛ᴗ⁍̴̛⁎)🍜❤️ I decided to rewrite the review with more details since I think this restaurant is wayyy too underrated! Although I gave most restaurant full stars as long as their staff are nice and the food are within average since I want to support them, this is one of the few restaurants I would actually revisit! The portion is great, and the price is relatively affordable compared to other restaurants. 😇 Their pork is braised and seasoned perfectly as well! 🍖 If you love asian noodle or cuisine, this is definitely a place for you! I think some people gave them low rating is bc of the limited payment option ⬇️ *they only take cash or venmo, but would provide you wifi for venmo if needed. But yes, their staff are nice! Don’t be trick by the rating and give it a try! You won't regret it ☺️ # Hong Shao Pork Noodle # Spicy Hotpot # Chicken leg Noodle # Spicy Beef Noodle Soup
Good amount of food for the price. You won’t see these prices anywhere else, especially around the Berkeley area. I ordered R1( chicken leg over rice), Taste is decent with a good kick to it. They provide cold and hot water on the house. Would return for a quick lunch.
Nice and clean, love the new renovations, they've made the place more sleek and moder. The food seems to have improved drastically as well due to the simpler menu. Speaking of the menu, it's become much clearer and it's easy to tell what you can and what you are ordering. I ordered the oxtail soup and the portions are pretty big, with 4 pieces of oxtail. Will definitely return again!
They have great asian food, I’m chinese-american and find it very comforting. I got the mapo tofu this time but I also like their eggplant tofu. The service is great, they are super friendly and even gave me a free tea egg today. You can join their wechat group chat to receive updates on daily specials, etc.
I have been in Berkeley for more than five years. Camille is one of the most convenient and tasty restaurants close to the campus. Most on menu are very affordable but do not sacrifice the quality. The restaurant has recently changed their management and got great improvement in service but with consistently great food. Attachment is the Mala Hotpot. Credit card and Venmo both work.
Everyone must try the seafood and eggplant! It's so delicious and the eggplants are so buttery.
Chicken leg rice was delicious, big portion, good price point, and came out quick!

Visiting the Berkeley area I stumbled onto this place for lunch which is inside the Hearst Food Court. I ordered their SP3 Lamb Shank with Noodles Soup and a Sprite. The lamb shank portion was very generous and soup was very tasty. The price is very reasonable for the portions served. The cashier was friendly and the service was quick. I was told they are under new ownership for the last two months. Will definitely visit again next time I’m in town.

Chicken leg rice was delicious, big portion, good price point, and came out quick!
The luncheon meal served to me was catered and was delivered promptly to our dinning location with a group of twenty people celebrating two birthdays. The order was still hot from its preparation and arrived with all necessary flatware along with a celebratory and festive attitude. The catered food was roasted chicken thigh and leg served with tender cabbage and perfectly steamed fluffy white rice. The chicken had an appealing medium roasted brown color prepared with what I could taste as soy based seasoning, slight sweetness and other enhancing aromatic flavors. The chicken was roasted to an ideal doneness and was tender and juicy, flavorful, easy to cut and of a sizable quantity. The gracious lady appearing with the catered order was courteous and kind, prompt as I mentioned and made sure the delivery was as exactly requested. The entire experience was positive, the roasted chicken was delicious, it all went smoothly and I would definitely suggested Camille Restaurant to others.
This place definitely surprised me with the portion sizes and the authentic dishes they served. They also gave free soup refills for noodle soups, which I've never experienced before. Overall highly recommend, by far the best Chinese food on Northside
New ownership has greatly improved the service and quality of the meals. I enjoy eating in the restaurant and ordering take out. My favorite meal is the #H1 Spicy Mala Hotpot.
Ordered take out food for six people. Service was fast and courteous. Food was delicious.
This is not a Vietnamese restaurant! I think it might have been once, but it was recently remodeled and they've changed the menu to Northern-style Chinese food (similar to Famous Bao). The food is awesome - my new favorite place for lunch on Euclid! However, beware that it may take more than a few minutes for the food to come out if you go near peak lunch time.
5 STAR - Don't let the current rating of this restaurant confuse you. The food is delicious, especially the braised lamb! Easily my #1 recommended in the area. Bring cash or use Venmo as they don't take card.
I look forward to visits to Berkeley and my lunches at Camille Restaurant. I noticed improvements in service and quality of the food with the new management. I enjoy the many menu options and have not been disappointed with any of my selections.

The portions are large and the food is delicious, however, the pricing is inconsistent. This year I have paid between 13, 15, and even 17 dollars for the same order. I recommend not paying with Venmo to avoid this problem. I know that they are aware of this price gouging as each time I paid with Venmo they always gave me another price which is not listed on the menu. Just pay with card at this point.
I can make better noodle at home… Beef is dry and not seasoned good and deep, even with all the spices companying the beef in my bowl. Noodle is not handmade. Vegetable is cabbage that is not fresh. Broth is like water for my first taste, it’s much better when I almost finish it, so you know some magic powder is added and not evenly mixed. Also, this is a Chinese restaurant instead of Vietnamese.
I'm conflicted. On one hand, I'm usually happy to give a place 4 or 5 stars if they've got at least 1 good, cheap dish - and this place's crispy fish iron pot qualifies, with plenty of tasty fried fish fillets in a delicious sauce with vegetables. But the two other dishes I tried (their signature hot pot and oil-seared noodles) were so disappointing that I don't think the fish is enough to offset them. The hot pot was just plain underseasoned and super skimpy on the meat (and half the meat that was there was overcooked slivers of beef). The noodles didn't taste seared at all and came unmixed with cold toppings, making them a lukewarm and again, underseasoned experience.

Ordered fried ribs with rice. The rice was mushy, the ribs didn't taste fresh either. Would not recommend.
I had the bbq pork. The bbq pork came out looking extremely dark, unlike how it's supposed to be bright red. It was drenched in some sort of dark soy sauce??? And I also had kimchi and some sort of pickled vegetables alongside the bbq pork rice. Much better Chinese food options elsewhere.
Ordered spicy beef with rice. It’s absurdly different from the picture on the wall first of all. What is worse is that the whole dish I got is not hot. And the beef tastes like from several days ago, somewhat sour. I only had two bites. Still had stomach issue the second day. Don’t go! Will never go back again. I don’t understand how this place got so many five stars. Maybe those are just for the time before management change.
