Recensioni di Hamby's Boerne
Best burger we have ever had!! The corn dogs are amazing everything is amazing very 50's diner meets a carnival. The staff were very nice! Would absolutely recommend this place. My husband and I just found our new date night place!! Thank you Hamby's
It's such a great family place! Root beer floats are heaven. I wish the onion rings were more substantial. Love going to Hamby's
Slick local spot. Food is good and folks were hanging out and creating a really cool vibe. The arcade seemed dope but I kept myself away because I had work in the morning. Hope to come back on my own time and try again.
The Champ grilled chicken sandwich and onion rings were delicious! My husband had the burger with onion rings and said it was amazing. We’ll definitely be coming back!
Clean, friendly and one of the best burgers I’ve had. It was cooked to my preference. The meat is thin and crispy on the sides, as a smash burger should be. Highly recommend the double or triple with cheese, bacon and the works. My wife and I will definitely return.
Cool little burger joint with nice cold beer!! The fries and onion bits were delicious!! Burger was not large, but was really good and enough!
Amazing cheeseburgers! Best smash burger I have tried. Friendly, great service, fun "old-school" place. I really wanted a strawberry milkshake, but couldn't do it after ordering the Oklahoma Burger and onion rings. Can't wait to return.
Great burgers. Nice employees. Fries were good. Thin sliced Onion rings were a little greasy. Overall a great lunch in a fun atmosphere. We sat inside where there were pinball tables and an old payphone.
Couldn’t be more excited for their opening. Go straight for the triple patty… you will not be disappointed! Al La Carte menu is fantastic too. We typically get multiple menu items and share amongst the family cause it’s all so good you can’t just have one item. Check this place out!!!!
Absolutely delicious. Food and drinks both exceptional. Will return time and time again.
Everything was Amazing! Great place, quick service. Great food! Good beer.
Seems like it’s a bit over hyped. Food was good but I wouldn’t drive across town for it. It taste ok, nothing to write home about.
The burger was so good. The fries delicious. Inside is a bit noisy unless u love pinball, then for sure u will love. Lots of good drink choices. I loved the Lambrusco and the Lemonade is good also.
This place was great! Smash burgers were delicious, good selection of beer on tap, and the milk shake was awesome. The shoestring onion rings alone are worth going back for. I found the prices to be incredibly reasonable (account for inflation, of course). The staff was friendly and prompt-despite us coming in the middle of the lunch rush we barely waited at all in line or for our food. We will definitely be going back!
Excellent smash burgers. Had the triple with shoestring fries and onion rings. Patties are typical thin style so if you're hungry better double or triple up! Fries and onion rings were also spot on. Nice and crispy and seasoned well. Update: Still on point and food is excellent. They have also started doing rotating specialty burgers which is nice. Tried the breakfast burger this week, very good.
Absolutely outstanding! Tried Hamby's out for the first time and the food was delicious! We had the double smash burger all the way with the shoestring onion rings on the side and both very good! The burgers are what a true smash burger is and the meat was so favorable. The onion rings were seasoned so good and were delicious as is without any ketchup. For all the bad reviews maybe they should stick to McDonald's or Burger King "burgers". Will definitely be back for more!!! Update - 7/23/23 Been here multiple times now and it is awesome!! The atmosphere is great and the food and beer is great! Played some arcade games after some burgers and beer and finished it off with a delicious Dr Pepper shake!
Really cool place! Indoor (pinball and space imvaders included) and comfortable shaded outdoor seating (outdoor games for kids to boot). Smash burgers were excellent, and the hand-dipped corn dog was adult taste bud worthy! Sides were great (large enough to share). Postman's Pale Ale was great, crisp and full-bodied.
Seen this place a few times while going through Bourne. Looked like a modern style burger joint. Actually going there was pleasantly surprised that their food taste as good as I hoped it would. Had an old fashioned style burger with shredded lettuce, pickles and tomato. Their fries were fresh cut, like some other well known places. They make REAL milkshakes with ice cream. They don't do just hamburgers. They have fish and chips, craft beers, corn dogs and ADULT (real chicken pieces with seasoning) chicken nuggets. Will definitely return. Small parking lot, but worth the walk if you gotta park elsewhere.
All these dumb pictures of the burgers in the reviews incenses me. The best part of Hamby's is the atmosphere but those burgers are SECOND TO NONE. The staff are genuine and this is turning into a legit "third place" where you aren't at work or at home. I wanna send my teenager here to hang out with her friends because it feels safe, which is a rare event when you have a 14 yr old daughter. No dads required (but we will be there because burgers).
My favorite burger joint in town! They even have gluten free buns and it feels like you are in an 80s arcade. ❤️
Very impressed. The burgers are fresh, juicy, and full of flavorful toppings. This place rivals Freddy's for a delicious smash burger. The fries were hot and very well made. Staff really is very friendly and the food is made quite fast. Went here this past weekend and will recommend to friends for sure
Excellent food! Very kind staff. This place reminded me of the small town I grew up in! I can’t wait to come back! I especially loved the pinball machines!!!
Love coming here with the kids. They’re able to play the arcade games while we wait for our food. We especially enjoy the grilled chicken sandwich and cod sandwich. Their milkshakes are great too! Super fun, laidback atmosphere and great food!
The food here is made with really good ingredients and its surprisingly affordable for food in this area. I can tell a lot of love went into this place. The burgers are delicious. Had them a few times now and each time I was thoroughly pleased. I like that they are well seasoned and proper smash burgers. I like the quality of ingredients with the fries. Fries are always good and crispy. I wish the fish and chips could be altered slightly, maybe with different batter that holds up better or maybe they could cut the fish into smaller pieces? Something to make it so that they cool off faster and thus keep that crispy batter feel. The quality of the fish is superb and the flavor of the batter is really good. I Don't really eat outside and sometimes the flies get to the inside dining area. Not sure what the solution is for that. All the same... I really enjoy this place and will keep coming back because they work to make things better there as they can. Well Done Hambys.
Christmas season in Boerne. We ordered the Grinch burger, a single patty smash burger with fries and Crispy shoestring onion rings. To wash it down a lager and a pilsner brewed there. Friendly place where both local and visitors are welcome. Texas Charm, beer is ice cold food made fresh and served Hot.
Our first time, this was a great experience as their smashburgers and house-made spec sauce go together nicely. The Dr. Pepper shake was perfect in taste, not overwhelmingly sweet, with the right amount of Dr Pepper flavor. It was rightly served with a big straw and hit the spot. The sides of Shoestring fries and onions were tasty and not over salty. This is a nice little spot I highly recommend to try. Only negative for me is they don't offer extra toppings such as bacon, mushrooms, or grilled onions. But the double with Cheddar, and not American, cheese was spot on.
Hamby's is exactly what they are attempting to be... an old fashioned burger stand- with great food! Don't be fooled by the negative reviews! We recently moved to Boerne and decided to try Hamby's today for lunch. We've been to Cibolo Creek a couple of times and wanted to try their other offering. Parking lot was packed and lot's of people were eating and waiting on their order, but ours came out in less than 10 minutes and was perfect! Great fries and smashburgers! Highly recommend- we'll definitely be going back! Great addition to Boerne's eateries!
Had a great experience at Hamby’s in Boerne, Texas! The food was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, and the service was friendly and attentive. Definitely a solid spot in Boerne when you’re craving a good, satisfying meal. We’ll be back!
A unexpected gem! I’d highly recommend to check it out! Super kid friendly! Good food! Yummy beers! There’s some pinball games for extra fun!
The Vegetarian burger with extra pickles is definitely the best I’ve ever eaten! The straw onion rings and milkshakes are the topper of the day! The staff is amazing, they always smile, are extremely friendly and understand customer service. By far the best food and family experience inside with pinball machines. I want to say I found this burger joint by an affluent San Antonio restaurateur who said they had the best burgers 🍔
I've always liked Hambys but tonight I had the chicken sandwich, YUM!!! I love the new dining area, they've done such a great job creating a retro burger joint vibe. We've always thought the price is fair, hubby says the sodas are a tad too expensive. Overall, still loving this place 👍🏼👍🏼
UPDATE! I went back for lunch today and tried the double cheeseburger and onion rings/straws and was very happy. I have always enjoyed the corn dogs, but you will not find a better cheeseburger anywhere. Fresh is the first word that comes to mind. Many places cook when ordered, but Hamby's has it down. You will not find a better corn dog or fries anywhere! The staff was very friendly and service was great. They have fun games to play and are still expanding. If you can't tell by the picture of the kitchen, they do a great job with cleanliness and sanitation. This is a great place for good tasting food prepared by people that care.
Hamby's is a hidden gem that delivers an exceptional dining experience. The smash burgers are a must try, featuring perfectly seasoned patties nestled in soft, fluffy brioche buns that add a subtle touch of sweetness. The shoestring fries are crispy and downright addictive, while the onion strings offer a delightful twist on a classic side being crunchy, flavorful, and unforgettable. The service at Hamby's is nothing short of fantastic. The staff is friendly, attentive, and goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome. My order was ready so fast I barely had time to finish one game of pinball and I'm terrible at pinball. Talk about impressive efficiency! The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and family friendly, making it an ideal spot for a casual meal with loved ones. If you're craving a delicious burger and sides in a welcoming setting, Hamby's is the place to go. Highly recommend!
Super cute spot for lunch or a casual dinner. This is perfect for a hang out with friends, family, or kids. They have outdoor games. Great smash burgers and even better corn dogs (my go to). The ice cream is a must! Indoors they have arcades and comfortable seating. The only problem is the parking because they’re so popular that you might have to park on the street or behind the building, but it’s so worth it.
We stopped by Hamby’s after an evening walk along the river in Boerne, and it was the perfect way to end the night. We sat outside and really enjoyed our burgers—so good—and the onion ring straws were spot-on. The vibe was great, and it was fun watching families come and go, enjoying the arcade and pinball games inside. The whole place just has a cool, welcoming feel. Definitely a spot we’ll come back to again!
Fantastic spot in Boerne for retro smash burger nostalgia and great craft beers. The shoestring fries and onion rings were amazing as well. Soft buns and really impressive pickles. Have to be house made. Delicious! Counter staff were super friendly and helpful with information. Loved the throwback seating area with vintage pinball and arcade machines. Recommend highly if you're looking for a great old school burger.
This place is the bomb. Absolutely incredible food and atmosphere. Best burger and fried chicken I’ve had in a long time….and yes i did eat both ha! Staff is extremely friendly and focused on the customers. Even with long lines they were able to move everyone through quickly. Can’t wait to come back.
We have been here before & decided to stop in again … this time we wanted to try a fish sandwich. The burger was good, like before - fresh, juicy, good veggies and bacon!! The onion rings - yummmmy!!! But - so NOT order the fish sandwich!! The breading was dark and super thick , not a good taste! The dish inside was good but I did t feel like deconstructing the whole filet!! I will go back for a burger!! Any day and all day BUT don’t order the fish sandwich!! And it had wayyyyy too much mayo too! Wish I could give them a 4.5!!!! Y’all are so close!! Find a. Enter fish filet! 😉
Burgers and onion rings are pretty darn good. Finding parking can be a chore but not a deal breaker. Nice outdoor seating area to enjoy a decent meal.
2nd best Rootin tootin burger I have ever had! 8.2/10 🍔
Burger was good and fresh a little on the small size. The fries and onion rings also very tasty....would eat here again.
Great food and atmosphere. Prices are a bit high for burgers. We enjoyed the food, don't get me wrong, the smash burgers are great. But we are not likely to frequent more than once a month because of cost. This would be a place to come as a "treat." $40 for three burgers and dessert was $28 for three shakes. Almost $70 for lunch for three at a local burger shop.
Burgers are really good. Fries are acceptable but those onion rings look like those things on top of Aunt Mildred’s green bean casserole.
Basic smash burgers. Nothing special and kinda pricey but eating on Main St Boerne is kinda typical higher prices. They should switch their fries these just don't taste that great probably because I'm not eating them straight from the fryer. Most people will be eating outside so you should find a space inside if you prefer.
Saw this place on Texas eats and had to try it. Great food! The smashburger is thin and crisp as it should be (order the triple) and the onion rings are crispy and unique. Everything is seasoned perfectly! The outside dining area is clean and set up nicely and even has an indoor area with an arcade, some cool games, and a big screen. * down side! It's pricey ($15 for burger and rings) pricey for the amount of food for sure and hard to find unless you know where it is. Not in what I consider a convenient location or one I would go to drink more than one beer in. (Very busy main street congested area in a town known for the police being, well.. passionate we'll say..lol) All and all, a must try if u get the chance but definitely won't be a regular for those prices in that location.
First time & we enjoyed our burger, corn dog, fries, & onion straws. The strawberry shake was very good! Sat outside so our dog could sit with us. Prices were fair too.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4 out of 5) Hambys shows promise, but there’s room for refinement—especially considering the premium pricing. Quality and presentation should be front and center. Order Experience: We placed a to-go order for a Single, Double, and Triple burger, along with three orders of fries. The wait time was reasonable at 11 minutes. Food Quality: The fries were freshly cut, which is a plus, but they arrived slightly overcooked. As for the burgers, the flavor landed somewhere between Sonic and TPerry’s—not bad, but not standout either. Unfortunately, the presentation missed the mark. The burgers were assembled sloppily and lacked the clean, appetizing look you'd expect at this price point. Also worth noting: Hambys doesn’t offer combo meals—everything is à la carte, which adds up quickly. Atmosphere: The dining area was clean, but the lighting was dim and gave off a somewhat gloomy vibe. That said, the nostalgic 90s touches—pinball machines, an old payphone, and tube TVs—added character. With a bit more investment in lighting, the space could really shine and match the energy of its retro theme. They also has a brewery that was unique to the location. Final Thoughts: Despite the shortcomings in presentation, the food was cooked to order and tasted good. Hambys isn’t a go-to spot for me, but I’d return occasionally. Overall, I’d recommend it—with the caveat that the team should focus on tightening up execution and visual appeal to truly deliver on its potential.
My third visit I brought a friend. Both of our orders were incorrectly made. I went to the window and asked for the orders to be remade. And the remade orders were both incorrect as well. The attention to the order taking is less than ideal . I came to check out the pinball. They have a nice collection of classic pinball machines. Two had issues ,but overall 50 cents per play How can you go wrong. I'd never had to ask for a refund even when the machine was broken they were on top of it. The staff here more than once had a member show that they actually cared. From outside to the little horse Carousel to the sticker machine not Vending. Can't say there was anything I could complain about. I did try their cheeseburger and it what's above average for sure I would probably not recommend the pink alcoholic lemonade it was okay and I thought it was two pricey for what it was but I never had an issue with anyone there more than one staff member came up to me kindly . There's a pinball League here I'm not sure how that works. The lady who took my order was sweet with the tattoos I think I'll have to return and play some pinball and try a milkshake.
Great burgers & shakes! Shake flavor choices were fun! Loved the corn dog too. House made soda flavors were interesting to try. We tried out the arcade games. They were nostalgic and fun to play! A couple could use some work as we lost money in them but overall a great experience and good food!
This little hamburger joint was more than I was expecting. It has a nice outside area where you can sit and eat or just enjoy the atmosphere. Inside there are tables and arcade games that cost $.50 play you order outside at the window and when they call your name, you go back to the window to pick it up. I got a cheeseburger and shoe string and knee rings and my boyfriend got a double cheeseburger with, supposedly shoe string fries. The hamburger was cooked well it was a little on the smaller side from what I would think a Smashburger looks like but all in all it was delicious! The onion rings were good, but I’m not a huge fan of shoestring onion rings. The french fries were supposed to be shoestring french fries but they just look like regular french fries to me but they were, very good. All in all I’d say this place has a good Smashburger. If that’s your thing I would come back here if I’m in the area to get a decent burger for a decent price.
Pretty good food, but expensive. They charge you 3% for using a credit card - they need to mention this or there needs to be signage notifying customers.
I heard about Hamby's on a local TV food show. His reviews were great! So we made the trip out to Hamby's. It is a nice place with indoor and outdoor seating. There was very little parking, but there was more on the street. We ordered our single burger, fish and chips with fries and 2 "Mexican colas." It was close to $27 ! I know they are a specialty restaurant, so I get it. Indoors is a nice, comfortable place with some 8 vintage pinball machines. Cool little area. The food was, unfortunately, less than we expected. The fish was overdone, very dark and rubbery, with very little flavor. The burger was a good size , but had too much Hamby sauce and was a bit salty for my taste. The Mexican colas were very flat, warm, and just not what i expected. Please understand it wasn't for us, but others may find it delicious, so it's worth a try. We had a limited sampling, but there was much more on the menu that you could choose from.
Must be good. We attempted to eat here on Saturday July 26th around 2:30pm but the guy said the wait for a burger would be 30 minutes. We went to Longhorn Cafe so maybe next time we’re in town!
A friend picked up burgers for lunch last week. It was my first time to have Hamby's and I was very impressed. So impressed I went by to pick up a burger for lunch today. Nothing like the first one. It wasn't freshly prepared, carelessly slapped together. Store was NOT busy. Tasted terribly of a dirty grill and had burned grill schmutz along the edges. I can't get the horrible taste out of my mouth and stomach is grumbling. Don't think I'll ever go back.
Weird set up....noisy. You have to place your outside, either sit inside or waiting outside to pickup your order. If waiting inside for your order, you would have to strain to hear your name when it's ready.
The guy taking my order was really courteous. The quality of the food was good. The hamburgers are not that big because they are smashed. Sat inside there is not many tables so if it is busy you probably have to wait a little for a table.
Truly was so disappointed. I’ve been once before and loved it! My second time around, I brought my sister with me so she can try the shakes, we ordered and the guy at the register told me he couldn’t serve me any shakes cause the manager would be upset. I looked over and there was a girl making shakes. I asked again and he mentioned that those shakes are the last to be made cause so many people are ordering them and doesn’t want to upset the manager. As I sit to wait for our food, people who ordered after us was told no as well until there was a family who showed up and those kids were able to get their shakes. It wasn’t that the machine was broken, just didn’t want to serve adults. The manager was annoyed by people ordering shakes on a hot summer day. Never heard of such thing.
Embarking upon a culinary journey with expectations high, the experience quickly devolved into a puzzling gastronomic enigma. Each fry, a gamble, teetered on the edge of underwhelmingly undercooked or audaciously overdone, leaving one to navigate a treacherous middle ground that seemed not to exist. The onion rings, or what one might generously term as such, were mere shadows of their promised selves, reduced to crumbs and whispers of their potential. The pièce de résistance, a wagyu beef patty, ostensibly a cut above the rest, was mercilessly flattened into oblivion, its richness and depth eviscerated in a culinary misdemeanor that saw its essence drain away as if in a tragic Shakespearean aside. In this culinary tableau, the only stark difference between wagyu and its pedestrian counterpart was the gaping chasm of the price, a cost not reflected in taste or presentation, but merely in the lingering question of what could have been.
My boyfriend and I went here for lunch yesterday. He got the triple burger, which was quite small and the patties were very thin. I got the fish sandwich. Breading was very thick, and the tartar sauce tasted mostly like mayonnaise. We each got the shoestring onion rings, very salty! All the food was a lot greasier than desired. The refills on drinks are either go up to the counter, which is a pain if there is a line, or go inside to the arcade area. Price for everything was just under $35. The concept of this place is very cute, just wish the food was better. Will count this as a one and done sort of deal.
Had a chance to try Hambys since the local sandwich shop was closed on holiday. When arriving/leaving, the entrance/exit is a big bump up from the street so be extra cautious as you may think you can turn in/out with speed but with traffic its difficult. The first experience is the line. Not sure which line to stand in as no floor markings (here/to-go). There was a longer line on the left so I just went right but ended up waiting about the same amount of time. This was due to the cashier leaving to get drinks for a while. Also the cashier didn't seem too happy to be there but hey it was Jan 1 and I know people drink on NYE so I can forgive that. We ordered a couple of doubles and wanted to try both fries and rings. The girl at the pickup window was much friendlier , and we got our food. Of course it was hot and fresh. But we were disappointed with the fries being mostly 1" "hash browns" which makes it very difficult to dip into ketchup. The onion rings were similar but I can understand that onion rings sometimes do that. I ended up stacking some onion rings into my double burger to make up for it. But as soon as the rings cooled a bit, they kind of had the burnt taste. The double burger was the best part of the meal. The atmosphere seemed good for lunch , and the arcade pinball machines give it that vibe. Overall decent but if you value sides with your meal, be cautious as you might get disappointed.
When we heard this place was going to open, I was very excited! Me and my friends were planning to stop by and try it out, but today me and my family decided to drop by. The restaurant looks awesome, with lots of rustic decals and a cool arcade area! However, when we got our food I was absolutely destroyed. The "smash burgers" were truly smashed, It looked like someone sat down on the package and served it to me. The buns were soaked in grease and fell apart while you ate it. It tasted about average for a fast food burger, but slightly worse than What-A-Burger. The fries were so hard they hurt my teeth when eating. They tasted frozen and bland, kinda like a lays chip. And lastly, me and my wife ended up with extremely upset stomachs from the food. This place was a huge let down. I know the Boerne community was excited to have a burger place return to this spot, but this was not what deserved to go into this building. Honestly, I probably won't ever go back unless they change their fries and burger buns up.
Great location in Boerne, and I'm willing to give a lot of flexibility when it comes to a nice place to take the kids, but I was extremely disappointed in the food. Anything that touched the fryer was burned and it all tasted the same, like the oil hadn't been changed in weeks. Onion rings, fries, and corn dog all left the same bitter aftertaste. I've seen other reviews that praised the food and maybe I caught them on an off day, but it seems like others have had my experience as well.
Really wanted to love Hamby’s as there aren’t good burger options in town. I tried 4 separate times and each time had issues. Burger was not cooked enough, second was over salted to the point of it being inedible, fries were cold etc… I really wish they would work on their consistency. I had high hopes considering the owners know the restaurant business. Won’t be back for awhile in hopes they can improve their consistency. Staff is pleasant though! Edit: went back a couple days ago since the owner kindly responded on here. The burger was undercooked. The staff was very friendly and they remade it with no issue. Ultimately the burgers are just not good. The fries were good however and I do love their Cola. Sadly like everything the prices went up and I just can’t justify trying it again. Still on the hunt for a good burger in Boerne.
This has gotten to be the norm. I am still waiting- 45 minutes now- for my order. Everyone has ordered, received their food, left. I'm still waiting. I've been asking about my order for 25 minutes, was told it was 2 tickets away. Another 10-15 minutes go by, I can't get anyone's attention, they're too busy cleaning up to close in 20 minutes. When a woman who walked up and 4 minutes later received her order, I lost it. The same people who said my order was 2 tickets away asks for my name. I tell them, they say they don't have an order with my name. They managed to charge my card. The whole time I'm waiting, many customers are coming up asking for napkins, ketchup, straws. Things that are normally out, but they put everything up- ready to close- even though the parking lot is full. After 50 -55 minutes I get my food. No apology, nothing offers, no manager bothered to talk to me. And not one napkin. My son loves the food, and when you get it, it's good. But this is the 3rd visit out of 5 that I have had to beg for what I have been charged for. There is no customer service. No one to talk to about issues; just a bunch of kids playing restaurant. Good food is not worth the aggravation and complete disrespect from the staff. I never leave bad reviews. But after waiting 55 minutes - to have no one acknowledge the situation, and even imply I was exaggerating the time (register girl said I was right within a minute), I figured I can't be the only one this happens to. But if I never say anything, how can they fix it. Sorry for the length.
Everything is definitely freshly made to order, but all of my food was burnt. I got the chicken nugget box & a corn dog. I was hoping the nuggets would be more like a fast-food nugget but they’re just chicken tenders with a mix of dark and white meat. They weren’t bad at all, just not what I was expecting and also burnt. The shoestring fries have no seasoning on them at all, not even basic salt. All I could taste was burnt ends. The corn dog had a sweet, homemade batter that was yummy but again it was completely burnt so I couldn’t even chew some of it and most of what I could chew had a charred taste. This would have been a great experience if everything was cooked a little better, especially the corn dog. The couple of good bites I had of the corn dog were awesome. I’d really like to try their corn dog when it’s not burnt, but I’m not sure we will be back.
Beware! The cashier rang up my order , was super friendly. But I got charged $7.47 for a tip I didn’t choose. I put $2.00 in the bucket and then got home and noticed I got charged a tip as well. Normally you get to choose tip percent. Not sure if that’s how there system is set up! $9.47 for a tip for hamburgers! There good burgers but geeze!
Gressy onion rings. Tiny burger. Second time I was disappointed ,I live in Boerne, but I guess the tourist love in lt. Not me.
We've driven by Hamby's so many times and there is always a crowded parking lot. We tried Hamby's for the first time yesterday. I ordered a corn dog with the onion strings and my husband ordered a double cheese burger. The burger looked so good and appetizing; however, the burger was lacking any flavor. I don't think that the meat was seasoned at all. The corn dog was soggy with no crunch and the batter for the corn dog was bland. The onion strings looked like they were nicely seasoned; however, there was no flavor and they were soggy. There is very little seating inside, so we sat outside which wasn't so bad as they do provide you with little fans to help keep the flies away. The service was great, just wish the food was worthy of garnering repeat patronage.
I had a Larry David experience. So we arrived at 8:20 to order our food. Everything was great, staff was friendly at first. We asked whats the latest time we can place an order for shakes to go so to not interfere with closing routines. The young lady thanked us for being considerate of the staff and after asking the crew she said 8:45. Perfect I thought. So we ate our food and 8:45 rolls around and Im at the window and ask for 2 Banana Pudding shakes to go. The gentleman told me that they don’t do shakes at this time of night and the best he could do is a couple scoops of Ice Cream. Mind you the machine was not yet being cleaned and I was placing my order at the exact time they told me to. If they would have told me upfront I would have ordered the shake right away. I know it may not seem like a big deal but I literally did what the staff asked of me and was denied. Makes zero sense. If you tell a customer something please honor it.
Service window was more focused on chatting with friends at the window than facilitating orders. My name was never called when my food was ready, so when I went up to the window to check on my order we found it had been sitting there for sometime. So much so that the fish had already turned soft and the fries were cold before I left the parking lot. Would've complained, but didn't have time to wait for more storms to hit on the drive home.
Food was terrible, definitely not worth the price. Burgers were over cooked, fish and chips was burned asked for tartar sauce and they gave us horseradish sauce. They offered mayo packets that were outside on the counter. Lemonade was basically water with a squeeze of lemon. Over $54.00 wasted.
$50 spent on 2 adults was defiantly NOT worth it. We were very disappointed n would NEVER EVER recommend this place to anyone. We ordered 2 triple burgers 1 order of shoestring fries and 2 small shakes. The burgers were very small the 3 meats were paper thin n cold the fries were a very small serving the shakes were good but for a $8.00 shake I guess I expected more than a tiny shake. Very disappointed. We ended up eating shortly after because it was not filling at all. SAVE YOUR MONEY EAT ELSEWHERE.
Expensive for such a thin small patty, fries were stale, unseasoned (only salted) and luke warm. Been twice and the price does NOT match quality. Burger king has better food for a better price lol
First time I ate there since they closed back in the 80's. The staff was friendly but the price was way too high. $32 for two single bacon cheese burgers ($13.90 a piece) two fries and two drinks. I thought they must be big burgers. NOPE! I could cover the damn thing with the palm of my hand and taste was bland! Unless they start serving $13 dollars worth of meat i will not be going back. If Hamby's was a person the old Hamby's would be kicking the new Hamby's ass for charging o much. The only enjoyment i got out of the whole ordeal was seeing the arcade and playing a game od Galaga. Lol
