The food here was excellent with quick service. I had the Mac and cheese and roasted vegetables. My husband had the spicy chicken in a sticky orange glaze. Both were hot and tasty. The staff were friendly. The food and drinks arrived quickly

Oh, it was good to be back! We liked the Denver Post in LoHi so much, but missed it since it was closed. Coming back from a hike was a perfect excuse to stop in Boulder and it was everything we needed. It was very busy, basically all of the tables outside and most on the inside were taken, so the service was understandably slower, but nothing crazy or unexpected. The food was great, and as always I enjoyed my gluten free options. We had our dog with us, hence sat outside on the patio. The pictures: our lunch and a plate after the donut holes, which we finished before I though about a pic. Pictures:

We came from France for the food (which is amazing, by the way – the fried chicken and beers are top-notch!), but we will remember this place for its incredible people. My friend accidentally left his phone in a booth on our very last night in the US. We only realized it once we were back in Paris. A lost phone usually means lost memories, but not at The Post. Zachary, the General Manager, was an absolute hero. He didn't just find the phone; he went above and beyond to help us coordinate the international shipping back to France. He was patient, responsive, and incredibly kind throughout the process. It’s rare to find a place that combines such great food with such a genuine human touch. If you are in Boulder, go there. The team is fantastic. Thank you, Zachary!

We tried a bunch of stuff—biscuits, hibiscus drink, chicken and waffles, beets, and the buffalo chicken sandwich—and honestly, everything was really tasty. The biscuits especially were super fluffy and buttery, and the hibiscus drink was refreshing with a nice tang. Our server Jacob was awesome—he memorized our whole order without writing anything down, which was seriously impressive and he didn’t miss a beat. The overall vibe was great too. We sat outside and it was really chill, good for catching up or just hanging out. Heads up: if it says “spicy” on the menu, they mean it. The Nashville hot sauce and the buffalo chicken both packed a real kick. If you’re into heat, you’ll love it. If not, maybe ask for sauce on the side. Definitely worth a visit—good food, solid service, nice atmosphere. Recommended!

Really cute spot in Boulder! We were seated on the patio and it took a while for a server to get out to us, but otherwise our experience was great! Food was really delicious, cooks were very accommodating to changes. They also allow pups outside which is always a plus!

I’d like to start by saying Shelley was so incredible and deserves all the praise!! This is such a cute neighborhood spot. I started with an espresso martini and my fiancé loved their non-alcoholic options, both fantastic. The green chile bison sausage board appetizer was incredible, but the chicken tortilla soup was so yummy. The fried chicken is a must and the shrimp and grits were so good I’d come back just for that. We order so much we were stuffed but couldn’t skip the banana slip for dessert. Trust me, order it! Diverse menu, great vibes, and something for everyone on their menu

Delicious food & great chicken & beer. Hubby loved the Alabama BBQ, waffle side, along with endless options and kind professional staff! Wonderful Fathers Day Special!! Enjoyed deviled eggs and the biscuits to start, creative and tasty cocktails, and the s’mores dessert. Came back and had the 4th of July special! Delicious deviled eggs, biscuits, drinks, and fried chicken entrees. Tasty pie for dessert!

Gluten free fried chicken is all a man needs today - and I tell you what, The Post is where to get it. Incredible GF options and quality. I got the fried half chicken and it was hot, crispy, flavorful, and the chicken was great quality. Thank you for providing all us GF folk with a slice of heaven. The only aspect that The Post lacked, ironically, was they don't have a good GF beer selection. With a vibrant GF menu, I thought they'd have more beers but only had the Holidaily Blonde (which is a great beer) but a tiny bit disappointing that that's all they had. Also, we tried the GF upside-down cake which I appreciate they have! But it was a little crumbly and thought it was more of a warm baked cake. Alas, these are minor side notes of a powerful fried chicken restaurant! Thank you! (also thank you for still letting people make simple reservations on your website!)

We ducked into The Post Chicken and Beer when thunderstorms threatened. Even though 2 out of 4 of us were vegan (and it’s a chicken place) they had delicious vegan options available. Our kids ordered the deviled eggs which they said were excellent. My son ordered the original cheeseburger which he said was delicious. I ordered the “tracksuit veggie bowl” (love the name lol) which was fantastic and my husband and daughter ordered the yoga pants salad. It didn’t come with the quinoa since they had just cooked a fresh batch and it needed time to cook down, so they just gave them more kale instead and my daughter and husband were happy. They said it was good. My daughter also got a side of mashed potatoes and gravy and she liked it. The service was a bit slow, but everyone was nice. We would definitely eat here again

I Really enjoyed my meal at The Post Chicken and Beer. The fact that it was on diners, dives and drives on the food network is what brought my interest to this establishment. I loved the deviled eggs. Perfect balance of soft to crispy with the added chicken skin! The gold medal winning beer is so good as well. I really loved the dry rub put on the chicken sandwich! It had such nice texture and flavor! The mashed potatoes were also really good! I can’t wait to come back and try more variations of the chicken hahaha. This place is truly great. The service was really good and the atmosphere is fun and welcoming. I look forward to coming back!

Often stop in here especially for lunch and the deviled eggs are a must have at every visit. Our server was prompt, funny and delightful during our visit. We got to meet some tourists out on Pearl Street and gave them a recommendation for the post and they were thrilled to try it out and get the suggestion. The roasted chicken with arugula and cucumber was super tasty.

I'd give the happy hour 5/5. The wings are a good deal and are delicious. The BBQ was pretty tasty, but the dry rub is the winner. Though it wasn't super consistent, some were impressively juicy. They also have a solid selection of other appetizers and cheap drinks. $5 margs and beer flights can't be beat. There was a period of time where the wings were taken off the happy hour menu, so I'm definitely hoping they stay.

Yummy! The Ski Town coffee drink is absolutely delicious. As a fried chicken connoisseur I can highly recommend their salad. Amazing food and service.

It felt a little weird going to a southern themed pub in Colorado while living in Arkansas, but this place was great. Their beer selection was adequate and their display and labelling for flights should be the standard at every microbrew. The Chicken and Waffles was very original in both ingredients and flavor. While it won't taste like anything out of Nashville, it was very good. The cheddar biscuit addon was OK, but not really worth ordering again. The roasted brussel sprout appetizer was mexican themed and great with beer. Service was great and we walked the rest of the main area in Boulder after dinner which was very entertaining.

Really wonderful experience here. We tried to go to another spot (totally different cuisine) and had the worst service so we left before we could even order and happily came to Post. Our server was delightful, genuine, and accommodating. Our food was excellent all around. The portions are generous and after a day of brewery hopping, we probably could have shared plates. The deviled eggs were as delicious as all the reviews promised. The “thigh fries” were fun and an enormous portion. For entrees we got the chicken sandwich, a 4 piece bone in order, and chicken tenders. The side dishes were great, especially the collards. Perfect umami flavors- savory, a little sweet, a perfect tang, a little hint of smoke from the pork belly.. just perfect. The food and atmosphere were great but the service is what drove me to write this review. I’m just sorry I don’t remember the waitress’s name.

Uniquely and truly spectacular. The Nashville Hot half chicken was the the perfect level of spicy that built as I ate. The added bonus is the fried chicken is GF!!!! Lots of gluten-free sides, as well! As this is also a brewery, my husband did assure me that the beer was delicious, and he had a blast trying them all. Service is friendly and lots of good vibes inside the restaurant, as well. Worth the visit no matter if you're from out of town or a local.

Absurdly delicious and the chicken tenders were the size of our hands! Try the curry ketchup and ask for Cameron R, the service was amazing! The only thing I wouldn't recommend would be trying all the sauces - the curry ketchup and ranch are the best ones they have.

Loved their outdoor seating area in the summer! They had gluten free fried chicken with plenty of gf sides to choose from. Our server was very knowledgeable about their menu and food allergies present in the dishes. Great experience and I’m looking forward to coming back!

The Post in Boulder has the same awesome chicken, which is amazing and gluten free. Wednesdays it also has fried fish!! Delicious. they also were a ticket seller for Phish, so cool.

Summer 2024 update! So much 💕for The Post - crispy fried chicken, slaw and first time - spicy cauliflower. Food delicious & devoured. Fast, friendly service. Appreciate the 8oz beer pours!

This place is superb when it comes to flavor and service. I highly recommend bringing a large group to eat here. Booking a reservation is quick and I was even able to order our large group meal over the phone. It was ready almost as soon as we were seated. The green chili mac, and cheddar biscuits are quite memorable. Also pleasantly surprised to find out the chicken is gluten free.

The bartender warned me the house old fashioned was a little different and it was- not my favorite. But the spicy margarita was very good, and the 1/2 fried chicken (recommended by the bartender) and the fried chicken/feta salad my son got were fantastic. Neat place!

Delicious. We had the cheesy biscuits and brussel sprouts for an appetizer and they were sooo good. I had the chicken and waffles...it did not disappoint. I would have licked the plate but wanted to hold onto a little self respect 😁

Great for lunch/brunch. Excellent chicken tenders. Tried a number of sauces…nashville hot, black pepper bbq and the house ranch…all good but the hot honey chili one was our favorite. Attentive, friendly service. Really appreciated their selection and care given to gluten-free choices.

It was a little pricey, but the food, drinks and service were very good. The menu was mostly chicken but creatively and well prepared. The drinks used top shelf liquor and tasted great.

We have eaten here several times and the food and drinks have been excellent, as well as the service. I really came here to comment on the kindness I witnessed tonight by the staff at The Post, particularly the hostess. Thank you for being a gem of a human.

Great place. We were there after the marathon, so it was pretty crazy. But the wait staff handled it well and everyone in our party really enjoyed their meals.

I took my family here when visiting Boulder. I appreciated our server's patience. The kids in my party were hangry. The gluten free chicken was so tasty. It has a nice crunch to the breading but not heavy. The kids (picky eaters) enjoyed it. The service was quick and friendly. Our food was hot and tasted great. The beer selection was nice.

Good experience at the post! Our food was tasty - we especially enjoyed the banana pudding dessert. I appreciated the mocktail options. Our server was being trained, but the person who was training him seemed to know his stuff pretty well! Atmosphere was overstimulating at first when we were automatically seated at the bar area, but this was remedied when we were able to move to a more intimate booth.

Most post locations are very good. The Boulder location has a few challenges but it could have been staff transition time and you will have to experience it for yourself. Service was decent but inconsistent during our visit. The food was just ok and that was a surprise as all other locations have been great. They were training new staff that day so will give them a little grace but the vibe there just wasn’t as good as other locations. Just sayin’

Some of the best Cheddar Biscuits with Honey Butter I've ever had! Do not miss out on these. Got the Half Fried Chicken Plate. It was a very respectable plate. Was it " The Best" Fried Chicken of my life? No, but it was still pretty awesome, and worth the visit. The service was friendly, but extremely slow. Bartenders were inattentive and often missing. Two Cheddar Biscuits I initially ordered took a solid 30 minutes. It's ok,they were worth waiting on.

I enjoyed the beer selection and the Brussels sprouts were very good. But I didn't care for the taco Tuesday taco special and wouldn't order it again. Good atmosphere for an evening meeting spot. The bartender was friendly and helpful.

They have gluten free chicken tenders, breaded to perfection and super juicy. Probably the best chicken tenders I’ve ever had. SO worth a visit if you are gf!! The sides were good. My friends had the biscuits and they loved them. I got the collard greens with pork belly and they were ok. I actually would’ve given this place five stars if the side I got was better. It was just in too much water which was a big turnoff. And the pork belly was minuscule pieces which I was not expecting and was disappointed by. The ambience is fun and relaxing. And the service was really nice as well.

Thoroughly enjoyed the food, Waffles were fantastic, beer selection was impressive, for not being very busy our service experience was pretty average, my beer sat on the bar for 5+ minutes before I caught my servers attention and asked if she could bring my beer that I had ordered, we also had to ask for water refills because multiple people at our table of 6 were completely empty. I'd like to go back for a musician and experience the night time ambiance, it has a really cool vibe.

Excellent food and a very good drink. It wasn’t very busy and the wait staff seemed either newly trained or overwhelmed by something but they did their best. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich and it was excellent; good amount of sauce, perfectly cooked chicken, and a fairly large portion of the sandwich and the fries. The old fashioned was very unique and not at all your standard old fashioned. It had a sweet and smoky flavor to it. We sat outside on the sidewalk and enjoyed the excellent outdoor atmosphere. Would definitely come back next time I’m in the mood for chicken.

Good Food, Decent Service with Upscale Prices I was very pleased that they took reservations. When we arrived at 4 PM on Saturday they were already on a half hour wait We started with the homemade biscuits and deviled eggs both were excellent. Each of us got different fried chicken dishes all of which was cooked to perfection and served hot. I highly recommend the house cut fries Overall I found it to be on the more expensive side. For a half chicken with 2 sides, drink and tip it averages $30 per person not including appetizers or bread

Pretty solid fried chicken but some parts were on the dry side. We got chicken and waffles and the half bird which was probably a bit redundant. The wing tasted very good - juicy and flavorful, but some of the other pieces were not as tender. As for sides, the biscuit was my favorite while grits and mac & cheese was ok.

We’ve been avoiding Post Brewing in Boulder for quite a while now. We visited the Longmont location a few years ago - we didn’t like the beer at all and thought the chicken we good but overpriced. We live near the Boulder location and finally went because it was the only place we could get in without a reservation - and glad we did. We tried *different* beer this time (the Townie IPA and El Corn Mexican amber are so much better than their popular Howdy Pilsner). We also ordered the chicken sandwich and a burger - both were delicious. The two sandwiches were plenty enough to feed 3 people. They have a great outdoor space as well as indoor (unless you’re seated near the kitchen, as we were, or in the awkward back room). We’re glad we gave it another shot and happy to have another downtown Boulder restaurant to share with visiting friends and family!

Great food, great atmosphere, and really large. The patio dining is beautiful! I got the Post Fried Chicken Sandwich. I thought the chicken & flavors were amazing; but, I felt like I was inundated with food. The portions were extremely large, and I just felt like a lot of food went to waste when it didn’t need to. There’s something to be said about moderation, bigger isn’t always better! I got fries for my side and they were delicious- highly recommend those! Service was meh. Wasn’t too crazy about it, but they weren’t mean. Server seemed annoyed we weren’t getting drinks or apps.

B
Bryan Hassin

We've mostly had takeout/delivery but it has always been good. You can get the chicken prepared "Nashville hot" (our preference) or half and half, if there are people in your party who can't handle the heat. Highly recommended!

4.5 stars. The mojo sauce on the roasted chicken was phenomenal. The waffle that came with the chicken and waffle was very good, the chicken itself was alright. Good selection of drinks.

N

We came in for happy hour and we’re excited to try the wings. Personally they fell short. We tried the pepper bbq along with the buffalo. The sauces tasted off to us, the bbq had a sour flavor and the buffalo sauce didn’t taste right either. Despite their large size they weren’t crispy and it was hard to finish them. Service was good, otherwise I’d give this spot a 2.

Came on a Sunday for brunch at 1pm with a party of 3, and was expecting a busy place, and this place was almost empty, which lead me to believe it was the food. We were seated right away. The chicken breast wasn't flavorful which surprised me, because the hype was all about the chicken here. I had the chicken over a veggie skillet and the friend who ordered her chicken spicy hot, said it was better with sauce. Menu has salad options with ways to add chicken or shrimp. It was okay, so I won't be returning for food -maybe a beer, yes. They have a DJ there on Sundays that play soulful music.

B
Brian Baker

Got the Chicken BLT and the Greek Salad, plus some drinks. The sandwich tasted fine, though not worth $13.75. The Greek Salad was good enough too, though I've gotten the same meal at other places for much less than $15. The beer was decent and the drinks were standard. However, I was very surprised to be charged an extra $2 for one cube of ice for my already $13 whiskey... Really, $2 for one 1.25" block of frozen water?!?

C
Charlie Czechowski

I’ve tried The Post’s Boulder location 3 times now and it has the slowest service of any restaurant in town. You will be seated and wait 20+ minutes before anyone comes to your table. There are seemingly plenty of staff but they’re all just talking at the bar. The chicken tenders were cold and the meat was dry. The ‘beets and sweets’ side were incredibly oily. There are plenty of great restaurants in downtown. Don’t waste your time with this one.

R
Rebekah Babin

Super disappointing, picked up a to go order. Was charged extra to have my chicken in the salad Nashville hot, definitely is not Nashville hot, see pic with chicken in salad compared to half chicken Nashville hot. Chicken sandy did not come with the relish as advertised. The slaw given with half a chicken is a total joke, not enough to feed a toddler so essentially you pay 20 dollars for half a chicken 😳 For what everything cost was very disappointed with quality. I’ve eaten here before and it seems not that good anymore.

s
shawn knoblock

The food was ok, but they made 2 orders of the completely wrong dish and 2 people were just waiting for 25 min for more food while everyone else was finished. Gave an extra star because they gave us a discount but overall will go somewhere else next time in the area

R
Rob Hill

Food was delicious. Service was terrible. Appetizer came out with main meal. Glasses were left on table. Table was not bused. Had to go get our own margaritas from the bar as they sat there for 4-5 mins while our server was on his phone in the back. All of this happened at a very slow time and while there were plenty of servers to help out. Again. Great food. Service was TERRIBLE!

$18 for a ****ton of ice! I'm not impressed with the food either: super dry fish and chicken. First visit tonight & will absolutely never come here again, especially with so many superior choices nearby. Management did not deescalate and really just made it worse. 😕

Walked into an empty restaurant. My husband sat down at a table to rest after a long walk on Pearl street. The waiter promptly came over and said you MUST be seated by staff: Rude, unaccommodating. Decided that if there had to be drama involved in just getting a table in an entry restaurant we went next door to the Biergarten. It was packed and the food was amazing!
