Recensioni di Cara Cara Broadway
Dining at Cara Cara feels like stepping into a rooftop sanctuary suspended above Downtown Los Angeles. The design is deliberate organic elements, architectural shelving, and warm lighting create a refined yet welcoming mood. What impressed me most was the cohesion between atmosphere and service; nothing felt accidental. Even simple dishes, like the burger and fries, were elevated by presentation and environment. The cocktail program clearly prioritizes quality, with visible care in preparation and ingredient selection. The space manages to be stylish without feeling performative. It is equally suited for an intimate dinner or a lively rooftop gathering. In a city saturated with rooftop concepts, Cara Cara distinguishes itself through restraint and thoughtful design.
This rooftop bar in an older LA high-rise is an exceptional place to go for any occasion. I came with my boys during our bi-monthly trip. Arriving/check in: The entrance is on Broadway, and upon entry, there is a check in kiosk if that is how you're arriving so you can be buzzed in. Same with arriving to the top. We went around 5pm on a Friday and it was not too busy when we arrived, got a bit busier at the end. The food: cocktails are amazingly delicious, worth the price. The braised beef tacos are in the smaller side of portions but were delicious. I'd say with a couple of drinks and appetizers, a check will not be cheap. The atmosphere: Amazing, breathtaking, no other words cannot describe the view. Perfect for a date or coming with friends like I did. Lastly, there is an additional lower deck you can go to for if you decide to grab some additional drinks for photos, etc. Overall, truly a grand experience and worth the price, although it does reflect the experience. The only con I can really determine to be a problem is how far it is from other places.
We did the valentine special. The host Jasmine I hope I spelled it right! Girl you are a life saver and an angel. Our waitress sorry boo I believed I didnt ask your name but you were MVP to us that night! Everything was excellent the food the drinks omgggg the drinks the bartenders y'all on your A game I got messed up in a good way. The vibes and ambience was top. We loved it will go back and try their normal dinner menu since vday was pre fixed. Everything was amazing.
Cara Cara is an exceptional spot to visit in the evening for a memorable dining experience with stunning sunset views of the city skyline. The atmosphere is vibrant and perfect for enjoying great food and drinks while soaking in the scenic urban panorama. I tried several standout dishes including the Shrimp Tacos, White Trumpet Mushroom, Piri Piri Fried Chicken (which quickly became my favorite), and the Lobster Roll. Every dish was delicious, and I noticed their the menu is 100% seed oil-free, adding a thoughtful touch to the dining experience. The food truly lives up to the hype and is totally worth the money. The cocktail selection is impressive as well, with a great variety of wines and refreshing spritz options that complement the meal perfectly. Overall, Cara Cara delivers excellent cuisine, spectacular views, and a lively rooftop vibe, making it a highly recommended destination for both locals and visitors looking for a special night out in Los Angeles.
Massive shout-out to the chef and her kitchen team at Cara Cara… WOW. The creativity, presentation, and flavor in every dish were exceptional. Each plate felt thoughtfully crafted, balanced, and elevated. This is the kind of food that keeps you thinking about it long after you leave. My favorite was definitely the ceviche… again WOW! True culinary excellence paired with great service by Victor and an amazing rooftop vibe. Easily a must visit spot in LA!
High quality food with a farm to table meets country club vibe. Great rooftop with sweeping views of DTLA. Staff are well trained and world class. Highly recommended for friends, business, or dates. This place is very presentable and will not disappoint you in terms of decor, food, drinks, or service.
Came here yesterday with a friend of mine for a girls night and it was absolutely divine! The view is absolutely breathtaking. You feel like you are in a movie and the food was absolutely delicious. Staff was super nice!! I can’t wait to come back again and bring all of my friends!! We ordered the burger, which was super delicious. Looking forward to coming back and trying different things. Also had a Hugo spritz there which was amazing!
This is one of my fav rooftops in LA! You have the best food and the drinks are great. Recommend the tacos and steak!
I came here for my birthday dinner and I had such a good time — the staff was sweet and the view was to die for — I always order waiter recommendations and I had the brisket wagyu tacos and my sister had the fried chicken — born insanely delicious. The birthday cheesecake was so creamy and fulfilling. I also had a respasado cocktail also recommended by the waiter. Thank you guys so much for an incredible night

Absolutely amazing food and beautiful, I’d recommend the crab pasta and 100% the waygu tacos, I’m a foodie and they were the best tacos I’ve had. Mushroom focaccia was to die for. We also tried the lamb chops and fried chicken, both of which were amazing
OMG.....so good. I was so enjoying myself that I forgot to take other pictures of my food! It's called enjoying the the moment! Loudres the hostess is EXCELLENT!! And I had Queenie as my waitress. She was EXCELLENT as well!! **ADDING Dina the hostess. I was there on the 12th of October (took pictures and added them, but forgot to take pictures of the food and drinks. It's called enjoying the moment😁) She was wonderful as well!! Great customer service!! She knew my name because I was staying in th hotel**
We were late but they helped us regardless. Great for business dinners. But also a whole vibe, the little pool, the views and it was also full moon. Great experience
Came for two drinks and some tacos. Drinks are perfect I order a gimlet and paradise. The views are amazing.
I recently had dinner with my family at this South Park restaurant. We were greeted by the front desk of the hotel who checked us in for the restaurant. They guided us to the elevator to the rooftop. Upon arrival we were seated at a table with sweeping view of the skyline. It was unforgettable with the wonderful ambiance and international style menu. The dishes are served tapas style which allowed us to taste a variety of dishes. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. We had a great time and will definitely return.
First-timer. 2.1.26. DineLA Walk-In. Mid-afternoon into Early Evening. Found out they still have Sir Davis, so I took the trip from KTown to enjoy the rooftop. Views were highlighted. Arrived, and only waited about 5ish minutes for a Solo Table. Didn't realize they were on the DineLA list for $55, so I ordered another Gold Rush and ordered the Caesar Salad, Lamb Chop,s, and the Pumpkin cheesecake. There were some considerable gaps of no attention as the dinner crowd trickled in, seems the slower side of the the floor was the Pool Eastward side. Not too bad, but definitely noticed when I got ready to go. I love Caesar Salad, and that was mainly whole leaves, barely covered in any dressing-and I mean 'the same leaf folded over, only the very top of the top fold got any dressing, tomatoes everywhere, and so much Parmesan on it, it got all on the table as you took a bite. That was disappointing. The Lamb chops were good, the butternut Squash puree bed was a nice sweet play into the savory taste. Devoured. But for $55, a third would make sense. By this point, I was just ready to go Home, but forgit there The Cheesecake was cheesecake. Can't really do too much more than what's been done, gotta be an idiot to botch it. Definitely would've pu the pink lady apple compote on top, would've helped moisten the bite. The View was amazing, even from the back wall facing north. Yeah, other Guests and shrubbery block the skyscrapers partially, but there was plenty of space to See out and a lower platform for pics available. I didn't go because they rush set in, and by the time I left, it had been almost an hour and a half already. Damn. Bar did me right, heavy pours and the handsome tenders were helpful and warm. My Server, did not catch his name, was very sweet. Spoke toward the lamp chops just as I had my mouth full, lol. Bathrooms were one level down; spacious, bright, and WARM. Like, WARM warm. Nice from the setting evening's coolness All in all, would I rush back? Only for drinks and a different seat, and a small bite. Not a pre-fixe menu, just for the sake of 'Okay, can we close out and go?' I hate being held Hostage.
Beautiful scenery, bar-backs nice, servers ok, felt more rushed by server more then anything. Food is delicious, except for the sides on the salmon that salad wasnt too tasty. burgers, fries, mac n cheese, steak and salads were delicious. mixed drinks r good, great music
*Located at the rooftop of The Proper Hotel in LA* Made reservation on Opentable, got seated right away. The view of downtown LA high-rises is fantastic, the hotel pool is on the side, very typical LA scene: pricey, nothing really stood out. Food came out quick: fried chicken ($26) was good albeit on the salty side. Enjoyed my dungeness crab pasta ($37) and husband also liked the skirt steak with salad on the side ($32). We were staying in the hotel so it’s convenient, no complaints…. A 6% “wellness charge” is automatically added on the bill. Server said it’s for back staff insurance (?) and also optional… $21 Aperol + $7 Diet Coke + 3 items above is $130 + wellness charge + tip for 2 people out the door… just another lunch in LA!
Nice roof top restaurant in downtown. Worth a visit. Cesar salad was good, though a bit too much dressing- the lettuce was nearly drowned. The hangar steak was very good, a bit of a small portion so don't think you're going to get a steakhouse size cut. The strawberry-basil cocktail was fine, though couldn't really taste basil even though there was a big leaf on top. Overall it was nice and enjoyable.
I had an incredible experience at Cara Cara Rooftop in Los Angeles! The ambiance was perfect — the view of the downtown skyline created a stunning backdrop, and the atmosphere was lively yet elegant. From the start, the customer service stood out. The Director of Food & Beverage, Dennis Yol, personally introduced himself to every table, which made the evening feel extra special. The staff was attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming. For food, I started with the three cheese and dates appetizer — absolutely delicious! Then, even though it wasn’t on the menu, the team accommodated a special order for me: hanger steak with shrimp and French fries. Every bite was savory and well-prepared, perfectly complemented by the rooftop setting. What really impressed me was how flexible and accommodating they were. I had originally booked this for a date but decided to turn it into a solo dinner. The staff made sure I was comfortable, arranged a table just for me, and even allowed me to arrive earlier than my reservation. Between the ambiance, the food, the amazing service, and the thoughtful touches, this was truly a memorable dining experience. I’ll definitely be returning!
Lovely rooftop dining experience! This is a beautifully designed restaurant (and hotel) giving bold, art deco type design with a modern touch. Everything was beautiful to look at. The rooftop patio is next to the pool. It’s spacious and the views are very nice. The service was wonderful and the food was very good and perfect for sharing. For the me, the salad was tasty but had too much dressing so next time I’d just ask for it on the side. The salmon was my favorite with well seasoned and crispy skin! It was an ideal lunch spot but I’m eager to come back night to see the views!
Loved: * The rooftop setting, sunset and dining with a view. * An exciting menu that shows creativity with combining ingredients Liked: * Crispy branzino grilled to perfection. A little too much chilli for me personally bit that can be removed * Speedy turnover from the kitchen * Professional table service * Heating lamps to warm up the patio on an autumn evening Not as much: * The music was great and started at a good volume, but cranked way up so that it became an effort to talk. * On the tab there was a "Wellness Charge" in addition to the expected tip??? Don't employers take care of their employees? It was under $6 so we didn't make a fuss but it gives a really bad impression, especially as an international. All in all, it's a gorgeous environment with great vibes to check out before the music got too loud. As it's part of a hotel, the quality is pretty high.
Time and again, Cara Cara remains one of my favorite spots to show off when we have guests from abroad or out of town. Not just for the delicious food, but also the impressive view onto the DTLA skyline. The staff and the kitchen were very helpful to identify or modify food items to accommodate one guest’s garlic allergy. And despite this modification, everything was very flavorful. PS: The valet parking guy was either drunk or otherwise loaded but seemed to be very confused. PREVIOUS REVIEW 2: Back for another occasion to demonstrate to our foreign guests the beauty of the DTLA foodie scene and L.A. skyline. And again, it was a magnificent experience. Even cocktails this time were delicious – in form of the fruit-based cocktail. All menu items were stellar: White Trumpet Mushroom focaccia, Cara Cara cobb salad, Shrimp Tacos, Piri Piri Chicken, Hangover Burger all wonderful – but the Grilled Branzino in my opinion topped everything. PREVIOUS REVIEW 1: Unquestionably, this wonderful rooftop patio on the top of the Proper hotel is not only a cool place with the best and most direct view of the DTLA skyline but it offers a splendid ambiance for a relaxed social gathering with delicious food by Suzanne Goin (who we had known for her fabulous skills from Lucques and A.O.C). We ordered most items in a shared fashion with a few individual exceptions. The Douro almonds and the marinated olives were excellent starter snacks. The cocktails however did not hit it to say it nicely. We otherwise started with Piri Piri Fried chicken, Vegan antipasto, Hokkaido Scallop Crudo, and cauliflower tacos. The grilled albacore, hangover burger, dried figs and prosciutto focaccia, and the trumpet mushroom focaccia were a touch more substantial and filling. All food items were generally delicious but on occasion could’ve benefited from a tiny touch more salt and flavor. We skipped desserts except for BD surprise as we did have a major one waiting at home. Parenthetically, I was told that the the second Goin restaurant at the bottom of the Proper (Caldo Verde) doesn’t have the same great view but serves the better food: to be tested in the near future). The part that I didn’t like (apart from the cocktails) and which contributed to dropping a star was the uncharming service which was inattentive, hectic like a bee stock, generally little welcoming, and for substantial periods did not seem to care. Nice ambiance and views. The wind can be problematic. The dinner menu is small and limited on choices. Service is good.

Nice ambiance and views. The wind can be problematic. The dinner menu is small and limited on choices. Service is good.
Good news first! Our server, Victoria was one of the best nicest low key servers.I've had in a long time. The location, views and ambiance speak for themselves... The food however was a different story... We were on Dine LA, with the price fix menu. Two options for appetizer, entree, dessert. The ceviche was the weirdest texture.I've ever had, loaded with jalapenos, and entirely, too spicy to choke down. Chips were really funky, and overall just a terrible appetizer. Caesar salad was good, not great and lots of tomatoes????? But the worst of all was the rack of lamb entree. We ordered medium rare and the chops were well done and inedible. Greasy fatty chewy and unfortunately terrible. The flavor seems like it was good, but we couldn't choke them down. I had the bronzino, which was okay, but the arugula salad that they dumped all over the top of it was again, loaded with spicy red peppers, vinaigrette, that soaked the fish and ruined it. For dessert, the pumpkin cheesecake, which was amazing and the black walnut chocolate cranberry.Snickerdoodle cookies were absurd. **** But, Most Importantly, check your check carefully because they add a 6% wellness charge, and at those prices, six percent is hefty... The server explained that it was designed to help care for the employees get them health insurance et cetera, and it was honestly painful to watch her have to try and explain. And justify it.... We would probably come back but just for 1 drink and the views.
I came here with a friend and had three friends meet us. The service was good. The food was also good however, the cost Of the food and drinks simply was not there for me. I understand that you’re paying for a rooftop in LA but at the end of the day, my friend and I split our bill had shared a app and 2 entrees and had three drinks each and paid almost $140 a person. They include a forced 6% wellness charge, which basically goes to paying for employees insurance, which is something that in my opinion should be covered by the organization and the cost of the food certainly should be able to cover that. The lobster roll was $32 and smaller than my hand. And with the 6% well ness charge and tax almost $40. Just seems like an unnecessary charge given the cost of everything else

You're essentially paying all that money for the ambience. Our first waiter was bad. We waited a long time for water, my friend didn't get their appetizer (some olives) until 20 minutes after I received mine when we had to remind our new waiter (who was not introduced to us) about it. The table next to ours was given their appetizers and meal first even though we arrived, and ordered well before them. The food was decent at best, the entire meal lacked spice. The portions were small, and after asking for dessert, we waited another 15 minutes only for me to be given 2 cold, bland cookies. It was giving racial discrimination, and I suggest you spend your hard earned money elsewhere.
Can’t rate the food cuz we never got a chance to try the food… made a reservation for 1:30, arrived by 1:40, which they did NOT have the table ready… gave us a rough estimate of 10-15 min wait until a table opens up. Was offered a table in the sun around 2:15, but was “not recommended” by the server (I appreciate the honesty lol). Per reservation policy, restaurant seems to have a table dining time limit, which apparently “can’t be enforced” - left with so many question marks, and ended up eating at a different place. Oh, 6% surcharge for employee health benefits. Nice views.
