Located on Broadway, Oak-Dar is a women-owned restaurant dedicated to providing a welcoming dining experience. We offer both takeout and dine-in options, specializing in breakfast and comforting food perfect for a quick bite. Enjoy a great cup of coffee in our accessible space, designed with wheelchair accessibility in mind including entrance, restroom, and seating. We're open Tuesday through Friday from 8AM to 3PM, and Saturday from 8AM to 4PM. We're closed on Mondays and Sundays. Our commitment to quality and service is reflected in our 5.0-star rating based on 18 reviews.

Such amazing flavor!! This is my new spot to get shahan ful (foule) and Ethiopian coffee. The artfully done decorations and jazz playing lightly from speakers set high above create a great atmosphere to AHHHhhh. I'll be back.
I got the vegetarian combo and ginger coffee to go, and both were delicious! The portion size was generous, the food tasted very fresh, and the service was excellent. I'm already looking forward to returning.

New favorite coffee shop in Oakland Love the “elielieli” sign and the “Oakland” signs written in Amharic. Love the coffee, the colors, the music, the hospitality. It’s right off 12th St BART, easy to get some good coffee and relax.

We never had Ethiopian food before, I don't even know how to order. After the owner kindly suggested the most popular items, we tried the lamb & the fish, and I was blown away. Price-wise, it's inexpensive and delicious. Love the decor here, it's comfy and neat, you can even work here with the music and the delicious coffee or specialty healthy tea called Renaissance ( love the name). Glad I get to try this restaurant even though I just curiously walked by.

I have been here a number of times and every visit just gets better and better. Their coffee is the best you can find in the area. Their lunch specials are all amazing, especially the beef with injera. It's the perfect amount of food for a great price, and the staff is so friendly.
Oak Dar has some of the best coffee I've ever had. The prices are great and the variety of coffee choices is excellent. I buy the coffee beans regularly because it really is the best coffee you can get. The service is also great, and the staff makes you feel like a valued guest. Highly recommend.

I went for breakfast with my family while, we all had a great time. The staff and owner were very welcoming, I had the foule and a traditionally prepared Ethiopian coffee. The foule came with bread and aromatics- it was super delicious and filling. The coffe was also excellent.
It was really amazing they had some good vibes great coffee amazing food I like the egg how it was blended with everything else on the pallet really tasty I'll go back any more times in the future.
