Recensioni di Antonio's Trattoria Bronx
When you go to Arthur Avenue, you want authentic, old school Italian food. Antonio's was awesome! Everything was amazing. The linguini with white clam sauce was the best I have ever had. The canoli was also, the best I have ever tasted. I don't use the word BEST very often. They are the best. I can't wait to go back a second time.
Been here several times and every one has been right on the money. Don't be afraid of the pizza- it's some of the best around. Greatest cannoli I've ever eaten. Long story short, this is what food should taste like.
The best Italian food in Arthur Avenue. Their meatballs are soft and seasoned to perfection , and their tortellini soup to die for.
Stellar food. No complaints whatsoever and very reasonably priced. So delicious
Hands down, Antonio's is the best restaurant in this neighborhood! My family has been going there since it first opened. My absolute favorite is their Filet of Sole. It is consistently good. My son is a huge fan of their pizza. The thought of their pasta dishes is mouth watering. Even if you just want to drop in for a happy hour drink this is the place to go. The food, the atmosphere, the prices all five star rated!
Rigatoni Norma (pasta, smoked eggplant and smoked mozzarella) was so delicious. The portions were big enough to take home (as hard as it was to not finish all of it). Everyone was happy with their choices. The calamari and cannoli were delicious, and decaf cappuccino was the cherry on top!
As I made my way around little Italy admiring the culture and the experience, I was reminiscing on the time I went to Rome and Tuscany. It brought back many great memories and then I realized how hungry I was. With so many fantastic places in the area to try, I ultimately decided to go with Antonio's Trattoria! They had amazing reviews and I had a serious taste for brick oven style pizza. From the moment I entered, I was treated more like family rather than a customer and that's so crucial to me. The staff was very polite and started us off with tasty rustic bread and butter. I decided to go with the chicken parmigiana pizza and I didn't have one regret about it. The cheese calzone ordered by my gf was also tasty. I would definitely come back here, maybe for dinner.
The staff was great even with a full restaurant. The food is really great! They offer a bread that you can try with the amazing olive oil they have at the table. The desserts weren't that amazing l. Italian cheesecake is not that sweet (in case you prefer sweeter) and made of ricotta instead of cream cheese. The Nutella canoli was a special but it didn't taste Nutella that well. Highly recommend.
We went there on Mother's Day and the food, service and friendliness were excellent. The fresh bread and olive oil were so delicious. The mediterranean salad was very tasty and the lasagna was served hot and fresh. All the waiters and staff were very helpful and made good recommendations. We will be coming back again for another meal.
After ball game delights. Pasta, mussels, meatballs, and drinks. Two guys at the bar are legendary. The food was prelibato, squisito, delizioso! It is not for the fussy, fainthearted, or high maintenance. Belly up to the table, arrange your napkin at your neck, and be prepared to savor lusty Italian dishes prepared with cream, wine, and garlic. Ask questions and trust the staff.
My friends and I have been coming to Antonio’s for years!!! It’s our regular dinner spot - we catch up, have great drinks, and honestly the food is always great!!! I hate go to places once and it’s great and the second time it’s horrible - not Antonio’s!!! It’s a must for Bronxites and visitors !!!
Chicken Francese was so soft and flavorful, it made me cry. Short rib met expectations. House Merlot was robust. Red sangria received mixed reviews. Staff was attentive and accommodating. Plenty of fresh crusty bread while you wait. Make sure you have dessert, especially tartufo. Children are welcome.
Looking for authentic Italian food with great service and atmosphere? Definitely make a stop at Antonio's. It is the best food on our vacation so far, far better than the great food in Manhattan. I ordered their special of Pork Tenderloin stuffed with asparagus, green peppers and tomatoes in wine sauce. I had a chocolate martini to wash it down. For dessert it was tiramisu with coffee, a delicious ending to a fabulous meal. I highly recommend making your way out to Little Italy Bronx next time you're in town, it's well worth the trip.
Visited Antonio's on the advice of a friend who moved away from NY years ago but had great memories. I'm pleased to be able to tell her it hasn't changed...still great food in a friendly, warm setting. Pleasant walk here from the zoo (a 15 minute walk.) Very friendly wait staff and bar tender and lots of staff... No waiting for anything! Spouse's coffee was good, my house red wine was very, very good. Baked clams appetizer with the chunky bread was fabulous. Veal saltimbocca entree was enormous and absolutely perfect. Side of ziti was ok. Spouse tried the pork chop with hot cherry peppers and side of green beans. Came with serving of polenta as well. Oh my, it was fabulous! The cherry peppers were a bit too hot for me, but flavors blended wonderfully and he was delighted. The green beans were bursting with buttery/garlicky flavour and cooked just enough to be crisp/ tender. We were too full to order dessert, darn it, but my apres cappachino was rich and wonderful. Left Antonio's wishing I lived in NYC just so I could return and try other dishes and the Italian cheesecake!
Came here with my friends and we all walked away with a positive outlook. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and the food was great. The meatballs i asked for well done and they were perfect, just enough of everything to finish it all and be satisfied. I had a mango martini and it was pretty good as well. I felt myself getting tipsy fairly quickly from the one drink so be mindful if driving. Otherwise everything else was great, service was courteous and professional, the other guests in the restaurant were all well mannered and seemingly enjoying themselves as well. Thank you for being one of the good restaurants in town.
I got the hot pepper and sweet sausage pizza. Deep dish style. It was huge, but man that hot pepper taste sat perfectly on top of the rest of the assemblage. I had it for lunch the next day AND dinner. Olive oil on the table is excellent. We got a carafe of Sauvignon Blanc which was also excellent. Oh and the calamari was also fresh and tasty. Would easily return to this restaurant.
Had such a great experience as soon as I walked in the door. Greeted by the owner and other employees as we were being seated. The food was amazing and pricing was just right. It's hard to explain how comfortable we were in the restaurant but it was noticably different from other restaurants. You have to give it a try!
Antonio’s Trattoria is one of my favorite places to dine in Little Italy in the Bronx. Delicious, authentic Italian cuisine, with a very friendly & welcoming service.
Food was amazing! Staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely a great place to eat when visiting Little Italy.
Yummy yummy yummy. Great service too. And the bathroom was spotless!
Delicious food and great customer service. The Valentine mocktail was chef's kiss.
I am Italian on a trip to NYC. I tried several Italian restaurants and delis and I have to say that Antonio’s dishes stand out. The polpette taste exactly like my mum’s. The pizza is also very good, one of the best I tried in NYC so far. I also tried the zuppa Toscana (phenomenal) and the Marsala chicken….pure symphony! The place is very cozy and the service super kind and professional. Antonio rocks. Standing ovation 👏
On our trip to NYC we wanted some great Italian. Everyone said that the Bronx was where we needed to go. On our zoo day, our little family of 4 stopped in and had the best meal of our entire trip. The service was fantastic and we are still talking about it 4 weeks later! I only have a picture of my dish, the Gnocchi Alla Bosciaola. So good! My husband loved the Veal Saltimbocca.
Real Italian food and really friendly staff. Been here 9 times and will come back again. Excellent food a few blocks from the main restaurant drag worth a two minute walk.
Not only are you getting authentic Italian cuisine, but the atmosphere and the staff make you feel like family I definitely would recommend this time and time again scheduling a large event for a family style dinner was easy and Alfonso is so wonderful to work with.
Loved the whole experience! Delicious food, big portions, and fast service. I had the Calamari to start - the plate was overflowing! Huge serving! Cooked great. For main I had the eggplant parmigiana which I highly recommend - oh my it was good. Accompanied with a few Aperol Spritzs - it was a full Italian affair. Definitely stop in!
I’m not going to lie, this place exceeded my expectations. I don’t know what sauce they use on that Penne alla Vodka but geeez!! It was amazinggggg!!! & Also fettuccine Alfredo was really good. The ambiance was really nice and also the service. I had the pleasure of Alex helping us, very helpful. Very friendly staff as well. First time here and I’m definitely coming back. Highly recommended.
I never, ever review anything after only one visit to a restaurant because hey, things sometimes happen. That being said, we get here maybe once a year when we visit The Bronx from Connecticut and it's always like coming home. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the food is consistently outstanding. Plus they serve Borgatti's ravioli! And if you've been extra nice, Joe may sing for you too. Antonio's Trattoria is our favorite restaurant in the whole Bronx!
Went here on 6/17/2018 after a day at the Bronx Zoo. It has great reviews so my partner and I decided to check it out for dinner. The place was a bit packed but we were somehow able to get a table without a reservation. The service was excellent and so was the food. Everything came out in reasonable timing and the restaurant had no issues accommodating my vegan diet by adding extra veggies to my pizza and keeping off the cheese. The portion sizes are pretty large so we shared an endive salad. My partner got the steak which was reasonable priced and HUGE! After dinner, we stopped for Limoncello’s (spelling) and Frangelico’a at the bar in the other room. JOHN was bartending and took wonderful care of us. He was very attentive to the whole bar and we have no complaints. There was an older man there that was really funny as well but we did not get his name. Let me just say that the whole atmosphere was so warm and welcoming. Very family friendly environment and you could tell many of the locals and real Italians frequented. A lot of smiles and laughter from both the staff and guests. Thank you for providing such an exceptional experience! We will most definitely return when we are in the area. :) 5/5
Located in the well-known Little Italy of the Bronx. António's Trattoria is surrounded by a multitude of incredible cuisine experiences. As we are all aware, the indoor dining room took a breath and makeshift outdoor shelters afflicted the area. Some are better than others, but we all know that in these cold, dry months, a ceiling light with an open door will not keep your lower extremities warm. However, AT had a brilliant and groundbreaking idea. Anchor three transparent yurts with zipped entry doors from floor to ceiling coupled with heat lamps that sit at eye and arrow level - protection from many cruel elements of winter. You are now comfortable for about 59 minutes, giving you ample time to enjoy a crunchy Caesar salad and a large wood-fired margarita pizza. As we waited for the cheque, we had a cup of coffee to circulate our blood. In these dark days, it feels like eating under the stars on Mars. This arrangement transformed our dismal day into a place of eclectic restoration. So if you feel sad and have a few extra dollars to draw from your inner child - welcome to winter camp! The staff felt like camp instructors watching us every five minutes. Kudos to that institution for finding ways to bring us back.
Looking for incredible Italian cuisine in Little Italy, Bronx, NYC? Minutes from the Bronx zoo. We really enjoyed our experience here at Antonio's Trattoria. Indoor and outdoor dining with a full bar. Great service, cuisine, and they were able to accommodate dietary restrictions. I had the beef short ribs, pasta, and red sangria.
My other half and I discovered this hidden gem during one of our detours after having coffee on Arthur Avenue. We diverted from walking towards the car and decided to walk in another direction. At this time during COVID-19 restaurants were still only open for outdoor service. This restaurant caught our attention because they had such cute private bubbles set up outside that also offered heating. Before we knew it we were in a bubble under the snow enjoying a romantic evening. Since out first visit we never had a meal that disappointed us, you can expect a relaxing ambiance and personable service. In little to no time we found this bubble becoming our own bubble away from home for future nights out. The restaurant currently doesn't have the bubble, however the indoor dining is beautiful and safe according to COVID-19 dining regulations. I enjoy sitting by the window or the beautiful wine wall that is multifunctional and storing some of the restaurants fine wine. Hopefully next winter we will return to our bubble on a snowy day. What brings us back to the restaurant is the consistently reliable quality service and perfectly made food. We both work hard throughout the week and we enjoy having an evening out where we're being provided an intimate feeling of "breaking bread" without having to prepare or serve one another. What we love about this restaurant is that it supports the experience of sharing a meal with a loved one in a friendly inviting atmosphere. If Marco is your server you will also leave there learning something new about Italian trattoria styled dining and plethora of interesting information on food or history. During our last visit he took us on a stroll down history lane teaching us about the history if the local neighborhood also known as the "The little Italy of The Bronx". The neighborhood itself is very diverse and includes a strong Italian, Latino and Albanian presence. Another population of people you will observe are clusters of Fordham University students. This is a great restaurant to go to on a visit to your childs school, the zoo and if your local you should add it to you list of "go to places" on days you're feeling indecisive.
staff are amazing! everyone is so nice. be warned: food will get you full fast! otherwise every thing is very good and clean. highly recommend
The inner atmosphere is nice. Better than the feel it gives on the outside. We had baked clams (a bit too salty) but do taste freshness. Pizza was excellent. You can ask for half and half (different toppings) even for the small size (12"). Very thin crust. Complimentary bread was very soft on the inside.
My ladyfriend and I went to visit Antonio’s just to explore Little Italy. The environment was sophisticated and I enjoyed the Italian spirit in the service and in the food. We ordered a custom pizza while we catches up on trivial events. I loved the zesty flavor in each slice. I would go back for another Italian dish. Thank you Antonio’s!
Lots of love from the staff. Family type environment. Food was delicious. Very layback way of taking orders. Little pricy but worth it. Excellent dishes. Best calamari I've ever had. The capacinno is to die for. Was too stuffed to get dessert although it looked awesome ❤ definitely recommend 👌🏽
I’ve been sampling the Old Arthur Ave., Italian restaurants for a couple of years. None of them are the same as they were when I was growing up in the 1970s. But this place still has a familiar feeling and great service a welcoming attitude and a great bartender great music in the background. There’s still a couple of old souls that come to the bar. This is the first Italian restaurant in the Bronx that seems to have retained the old school warm, nostalgic vibe that I’ve been looking for.
Love the food. Love the Staff. Had a great time with family. The only thing is I am cloister phobic and I felt it. I had to apologize to the nice man behind me several times. But would highly recommend
I've been to Antonio's several times over the years and have always gotten a different dish every time I go. They have all been great, but the pork chop I got during our last visit was out of this world. Juicy, perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the accompanying peppers and onions rounded out the dish nicely. I was seriously tempted to get another for dessert, but the house-made tiramisu was a more reasonable option :-)
I ate here after walking around the zoo, and it was worth the wait. Delicious arancini. Lasagna was very good, although different than what I’m used to. It didn’t have multiple layers of noodles, but the meat and ricotta and sauce was perfect. Enjoyed a glass of wine and the fresh bread and the atmosphere. The service is very friendly and energetic. I’m glad I found this restaurant.
It was VERY VERY GOOD. I had chicken parm … succulent tasty hearty. I didn’t eat the pasta, I was too full. The broccoli was really good too—firm and tasty. The cheesy bread 🤩 I asked for A scoop of gelato but got a nice portion, which I happily ate. The cannoli was okay— a lil too much cream. It was dimly lit which complemented the old school music so the vibes were nostalgic. Most importantly the staff was accommodating and genuinely nice. #Fonz I’d return … sooner than later! You should too. Google was right! 😉
I rarely give 5 stars, but the food was amazing, service was attentive, prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere was warm. The bread was fresh and very soft. The sausage Rotini Rugantini was creamy and heavenly. Chicken pharm pizza was absolutely delicious. Fried calamari was crispy. Tiramisu was light and not too sweet (which can be shared with 2-3 people). Restrooms are clean. Wait time for seats were reasonable. Relaxed family environment. Credit cards accepted. Parking may be difficult. The food was amazing! I would come back.
Antonio’s Trattoria is a nice spot for an Italian dinner. The menu has a decent selection from antipasti and salads to pastas, entrees, and pizzas. The dessert menu also has a good selection. Some vegetarian options depending on specific selections. A couple gluten free items noted on the menu. Pizzas offer gluten free crusts and we were told they bake them on a separate aluminum pan to limit cross contamination. Also told the use the same water to cook all pasta, each order in its own basket, sort of like how you would use a fryer. Service very attentive and effective. Worth a visit. Well suited for tables of ~10 as needed.
Antonio’s is exceptional! Everything we ordered was so delicious and full of flavor. Hands down, best chicken parm I have ever had! The staff was also so friendly and attentive. Make sure you do not skip dessert! They did a great birthday celebration as well. Thank you to Antonio’s for making our dinner so special!
Stopped by on a whim for a quick lunch… I was greeted and seated by Alfonzo… the ambiance and service made me feel as though I was somewhere else not in NYC. I was served by John and enjoyed a glass of their riesling The Seeker and a plate of Chicken Quattro Formaggi, It was very tasty and although I only finished half Im sure the rest will be great for dinner later. All in all I will be returning to try the Filet of Sole! Thank you all for a great experience!
This place was so good, I had it in my bookmarks for a while and have NO IDEA why I hadn’t been there before. It was Saturday and we came with no reservation. I called beforehand to ask if they required reservations and he said we could come, as soon as we walked in the server recognized my voice, which was pretty great, and he sat us at a table next to the windows that he had gotten ready for us when I called. Every person that came to our table was incredibly friendly and with such a sweet vibe. We shared eggplant parmigiana for appetizer, and let me tell you, IT WAS THE BEST I HAVE HAD!!! We devoured it as soon as they brought, the delicious smell had us going crazy!! My and my mom LOVED IT!!! For entree my mom chose Alfredo Fettuccini with chicken and I chose Spaghetti Carbonara, they were both delicious and savory but not salty and the pasta was cooked to perfection!! For dessert we chose two of their homemade ones: Italian cheesecake and tiramisu. My mom LOVED the Italian cheesecake and we were actually pretty surprised to see it was nothing like American cheesecake, it had more like an actual cake texture and it was not too sweet, which she loved even more! My tiramisu was definitely made in heaven, it was so delicious and soft, you could taste every ingredient but as a perfect combination, nothing was overpowering!! We both left desiring to come back soon. I have it on my list to come back specially because I want to try one of their tomato sauce pastas, that sauce from the eggplant parmigiana was nothing I had before, so delicious, so fresh, so much flavor!!!! Definitely going back soon!!

Very good, but not as great as reviews suggest. Owner is warm and inviting, as others say. And servers work hard to accommodate your needs. But the food is more American than Italian. Carbonara made with prosciutto instead of guanciale?!? Would make a Roman gasp! The chicken sorrento was very salty and I could barely taste the eggplant; my friend’s chicken scarpa swam in a red sauce (since when?!); rigatoni Norma was nice but a bit lackluster. On the up side, the wine and Nutella calzone I shared were excellent. The cannoli are from Artuso, which are fab (but it’s down the block so just buy them there along with some sfogliatelle — you won’t be sorry). I would go back to try the pizza and homemade pasta, especially because their fresh mozzarella is from Casa (THE best). That fare might win me over to this place. But this first experience was a bit more hype than heavenly Italian.
TLDR: My fav restaurant by Arthur Avenue in the Bronx but service needs improvement. The prices are a bit higher here but worth it! The decor is dark at all hours and it's a big step up to get into the main entrance. Service today was especially not great. Our server disappeared for a long time and we needed to flag down another person to take our order and to get our check (which we needed to ask for twice from 2 people). But if you're not in a rush the food here is my favorite in this area! 😂 My friend and I ordered a large cup and char pepperoni pizza with added onions. The second server asked if we were sure we wanted large. Please don't judge my eating habits my friend! We also tried the Alfredo pasta and added chicken. It was a little bland and needed salt and pepper. Lasagna is amazing here too. The Aperol spritz was good. The white wine sangria was like 50% sour apples FYI. 1 single women's bathroom and 1 men's bathroom. I never have room for dessert so can't speak to that. Come for the food but bring your patience.
Stopped in for lunch before leaving the area. We didn't have a ton of time, so I was glad the dishes came out fairly quickly. We were started with a basket of bread, which was good - nice and fluffy, perfect for dipping in olive oil. I had the gnocchi caprese, which was really good. The gnocchi was light and tender, not chewy at all, which is what you want from gnocchi. I ended up using another piece of bread to finish the sauce after I ate all the gnocchi.
Antonio's Trattoria has been on my bucket lists for years and we finally got a chance to try it after our visit to the Bronx Botanical Garden. It's definitely one of the well-known and popular Italian restaurants in the neighborhood. The decor is vintage, authentic and wide-spaced with lots of seating. Both indoor & outdoor dining are available currently. The options on the menu weren't in a great variety but pretty decent. We had their Short Ribs Toscana ($26) & signature pasta Gnocchi Alla Boscaiola ($19) and both were delicious. The short ribs were so impressive, well-braised and soft.
After a fun day at the Bronx Zoo, my boyfriend and I searched Yelp for the highly rated Italian-American restaurants near Arthur Avenue and agreed on Antonio's. The restaurant is spacious with ample seating, but was almost completely full during Sunday dinner. We were seated next to a large party (of maybe 12-15) that was celebrating a family event, so it was nice to see them accomodate such parties. They had such an extensive menu it was difficult to decide what to get - between meat, seafood, pizza, pasta, etc. We chose the caesar salad, white clam sauce linguine, Chicken parmesean, and Italian cheesecake. The caesar salad was disappointing for the price - it looked like it had come out of a grocery store pre-made kit with soggy Romaine lettuce. The clam pasta and chicken parmesean were both delicious (chicken parm had juicy, tender, perfectly cooked meat and a generous serving of melted fresh mozarella). We personally didn't like the dessert - it had a chalky/gritty texture that was hard to get over. Overall, it was a great first impression of the Bronx's Little Italy, and would love to come back and explore some more.
Called to make a reservation for Sat night at around 2pm and managed to get a table for 2. Ordered baked clams, short ribs and pizza. Enjoyed the short ribs the most, liked the thin crust pizza too. Only knew we could do half:half flavours for the pizza when reading through the reviews here. Price is a little bit on the high side. Overall pretty good experience, it was fully occupied almost all night.
Everything was very good, although service was a little off beat; if I hadn't called someone over, it was like they forgot to take our order for the main course. Antipasto, oso bucco (braised short ribs), arancin and fried calamari were great. Lasagna was ok, some eggplant pasta dish (not parm style) good and spaghetti & meatballs good. Parking was a little difficult and nearly impossible. I'd come here again.
I would have given it 2 1/2 stars but obviously that tells you how disappointing this place is. Veal Francese had NO lemon but at least it came with 3 cutlets so at least a good size portion. The red…
Extremely disappointing. Soggy, overcooked pasta. Inattentive service despite being virtually empty on a Sunday afternoon. Would not go back again.

Dinned in on a Saturday late after with my siblings. The food was good, we had among other things the eggplant fliorentino, spaghetti and meatballs, pork chop ,calamari, garlic knots with Mozzarella etc. The portion sizes were smaller than expected for the price. Our waiter however left a lot to be desired. We felt rushed although when we arrived inside was very sparse. His table side manners just were very poor. It’s sad because everyone else was very pleasant. He actually threw our bill on the table ignoring an outstretched hand to receive it. We will not return.
I was very excited to try the carbonara and it was absolutely awful. It was swimming in oil/butter and extremely salty. With my spoon sitting in the bowl it would continue to fill up completely with oil/butter…I was very confused. I sent it back to have it remade thinking that they must’ve just messed this order up but it came out the exact same way. The waiter also noticed it looked the same and offered to take it off the bill. My hopes is that the restaurant is aware of this and perfects this dish! That being said I’m sad to make such a low star rating since the rest of our meals were very good… the gluten free pizza and the chicken saltimbocca.
The food was subpar. Maybe they had their third string team in the kitchen but it was nowhere near the 4.6 rating it currently has. The mozzarella caprese and straciatella apps were good but unremarkable. The chocolate cake was the best course of the meal. I sent back the chicken quattro formaggio entree- the ingredients were conceptually amazing but did not come together. The gravy was equivalent to a jarred sauce. I next ordered gluten free penne with broccoli rabe. The broccoli rabe was fresh but the garlic-olive oil sauce was watery and the penne was Barilla gluten free quality (falls apart.) The service was friendly but doesn't seem like anyone is showing them the ropes. The cost of the meal is not proportional to the presentation and quality.
Eh. After a long day of orchid-traipsing at the botanical garden, I'm glad we veered off the main Arthur Ave stretch to Antonio's because they were able to seat our tired feet right away--but I wouldn't rush back. Our lunch was a mixed bag. The good: - Baked Clams Oreganata: Delicious and generously portioned - Arancini di Riso: Crisp and savory, but four wasn't really enough (we got 24 clams for the Oreganata, for reference) The eh: - Baked Ziti Sorrentino: Creamy and rich and large, but lacking in seasoning. - Veal Parmigiana: The veal cutlet itself was very savory and well done, but it came with the same weird spaghetti. The not great: - Spaghetti with Meatballs: The sauce was weirdly lumpy and didn't mix well with the noodles, and the meatballs, though big, were dry and overcooked. - Frutti di Mare: It had loads of seafood, but again, the tomato sauce was off. Service was fine, but there are nicer, friendlier spots on AA. Ditto the decor, which isn't bad, but kinda dark and depressing compared to some of the fake frescos you'll see on AA.
Food was good not great. Had the linguine with white clam sauce and it was ok. The antipasti was good but nothing exceptional

Ordered shrimp scampi and asked for it with just garlic and oil/no butter, and got six tiny popcorn size shrimp covered in cream. No garlic, parsley, just cream. That was not scampi. Marinara is cloyingly sweet and pasta overcooked. Also ordered a salad with Gorgonzola cheese and there was no cheese in it. Restaurant smells strongly of mold and Fabuloso or some other kind of scent to cover it up.
Naming that my low rating is probably because of the meal I chose and also was delivered versus in restaurant - so take this review with that in mind. I paid $39 for the shrimp scampi. There were 7 shrimp- listed on the menu as colossal - very much a reach. Yes, I looked up the size categories of shrimp and these size just in between medium and large. Which, market price would run you about $8 for 7 shrimp this size. Clearly the shrimp is what is making me the most upset- because the last thing I will say is THEY WERE OVERCOOKED. Also very small side portion of spaghetti and some spinach. Picture added for sadness. Very underwhelmed and DEFINITELY not worth $39. If the taste of the meal redeemed it maybe a different story, but can’t even stand out that. I spent nearly $100 on this order and all of the food was mid. I can say, I will never get food from here again.
I cannot believe Antonio’s Trattoria has high ratings. What an absolute disappointment. From the moment we sat down, the service was already off. I specifically told the waiter, discreetly, that I would be covering the bill and to hand me the card. He acknowledged it. Great, done. Except not really. Our guest ordered the shrimp scampi pasta. When the dish arrived, they forgot the pasta entirely. Just shrimp. So we asked for the pasta that was supposed to come with the dish. What did they bring? A separate order of marinara pasta to go with shrimp scampi. It made no sense. Then the waiter returned and said, “Here’s the garlic butter pasta that goes with the shrimp, on the house.” No. That pasta was already supposed to come with the dish. Of course it should be “on the house.” That is not a complimentary gift. That is correcting your own mistake. And to top it off, the waiter had attitude the entire time. No warmth, no professionalism, no apology. Just rudeness and annoyance from start to finish. The food was terrible. Big diner-style portions with zero quality. I ordered the fettuccine Bolognese and it tasted like boxed pasta with a sauce that could have come straight from a can. Bland, heavy, and just gross. And honestly, how does this place have any good reviews? Serious question. I cannot imagine anyone returning on purpose. For the prices, the service, the food, and the overall experience, this was hands-down one of the worst restaurant visits I have ever had. Definitely will not be coming back.
I ordered through Door Dash, and did not like my order at all. For this restaurant to be a traditional Italian place the food was really bad!! The Garlic Knots Parmigiana were not like I expected!! They were really oily and soggy!! The Tiramisu was not the best choice either!! To be traditional Italian it was bad and artificial, and a very strong alcohol flavor!! Did not like my order or recommend the place! My Spaghetti alla Carbonara didnt taste like other traditional dishes I've tried!! The taste was more similar to a Marsala sauce, the bacon was just fat and even the color was closer to a Marsala Linguini!! The Penne alla Vodka (Linguini) was better in taste, but still wasnt good enough! I dont recommend this place if you are looking for a traditional Italian style dish!! Just spent almost $100 on this, Really disappointed!
