Recensioni di Baby Luc's Brooklyn
This place is great to grab a quick slice. The pizza has a good balance of sauce to toppings. One caution: if the place is super busy, the dining area inside can get a bit smoky from all the pizzas being cooked. It smells delicious, but could bother you if you're sensitive to smoke.
The pizza is soooo good! Get a beer and hang out on their outdoor patio while you wait for your slice. Tried every pizza slice, all were good but the vodka was SO good! Salad also was surprisingly tasty.
Dont get the low reviews here. Guess everyone has different value systems when making their ratings. Bottom line is the food rocked. This is not meant to be a restaurant like Lucali, it's a slice shop that you can also order pies at so don't expect the experience of a restaurant. The pizza is awesome here. If you are in the area, definitely check it out.
The guy who took my order looked like a teen (maybe he's older and has good genes!) so the high-level service he gave me - especially from a pizza by the slice place - was surprising (and impressive). Also, the pizza was delicious, and hanging in the outside shed eating on a gorgeous day was just perfect. I asked him about the frozen margaritas, and he gave me a taste - it was fantastic! I will definitely be back, especially as I'm lucky enough to to live in the neighborhood!
The pizza is a square slice that is crispy & light with a generous amount of toppings. The vodka slice is my favorite but the ricotta & broccoli rabe sliced is excellent as well ! They just added a round, Neapolitan style that is delicious, great crunch but could use a little more cheese‼️A must try place!
The broccoli rabe & ricotta slice was delicious! I’ve also had their margherita, pepperoni, and classic round. The dough on the square slices is so nice and airy. You can’t go wrong here.
I love the pizza here. Unfortunately, when friends of mine who I introduced to each other 25+ years ago visited with their son, the pizza wasn't great for the first time. I was a little embarrassed especially as I had raved about the pizza. Now my friends likely think I have bad judgment about food!
I'm not usually a fan of this style of pizza, in fact I was bummed when I saw it but short on time I went with it and I'm glad I did. The customer was perfect, not too doughy or thick and it had great crisp. The sause, I could eat a bowl of, it was so good. Great flavor in the cheese and thick cut pepperonis, I'll be back.
I live around the corner so have tasted all of their slices several times over the years, plus their wings at one point, and somewhat newly added meatball hero and meatballs w/ salad. Their pizza right now is superb, best it’s ever been, all of the flavors. Their staff are absolutely lovely. I love a grandma slice and I absolutely love their added pizazz use of sourdough crust for it. Maybe you haven’t tried them yet but their meatballs are out of this world delicious and I’m a bit snobby about meatballs. Their wings were EXCELLENT but a little pricey. In the beginning when they first opened I did feel certain things were slacking (too much crust, skimpy on toppings, some slices lacked flavor, overpriced for the offering) but the owner closed for a month to remedy given feedback and to ensure he delighted customers with consistent high quality. That is really honorable. Last summer I felt like their slices lacked salt but I shared the feedback and that seems to be fixed. Giving 5 stars to them because they care, listen and execute, they have good vibes, and most importantly, the food is creative, thoughtful, and delicious.
This is my new favorite place in the world. It should have 5 stars, not 3.8. Incredible pizza . Great spritz in cute cup. Beautiful umbrellas, excellent community of birds and a very nice piano player. Great bang for your buck coming from a miser. 10/5
Excellent Pizza, Atmosphere and Staff. Always a pleasure going to Baby Luc’s.
Super nice food ! we had a slice of the pepperoni pizza and a chicken parm sandwich and both were delicious ! 🍕 I’m putting 4 stars at service cause they only have plastic ustensiles and it’s impossible to cut anything with those. Also the staff was not super friendly the day we went.
Baby Luc’s delivered pizza for our wedding welcome party at Congress and it was wonderful! Communicative staff, timely delivery, and of course delicious pizza! Great way to welcome our guests to NYC!
We have been coming here since Baby Luc’s open and love coming for a slice especially with our kids. But we just hosted my husband’s surprise birthday here and it was AWESOME. The whole team made the process so fun and easy, it was like going to a party hosted by the best members of your extended family. Food was awesome, drinks and bars great, and all the guys (Daniel, Danny, Travis and more) and most especially KRYSTAL quarterbacking it all made it so fun. She’s amazing. Special shout out to Joe for the pictures / entertainment. Highly recommend for any occasion!
Eating my words. I will always admit if I'm wrong and I was absolutely wrong. Friends were like... Yeah. It's all hype. I bought into it. Here's the truth. They live up to everything. The pizza was absolutely on point. I have not had pizza like that in a good amount of time. Even the pup was like... Whoaaa!!! 😳 What's wrong with you not coming to Baby Lucs sooner?!?!! Treat yourself... Definitely recommend!
One of the guys hooked us up with an extra slice of pepperoni for free! If you like jazz, nice tiled flooring and good pizza - treat yourself to Baby Luc’s
Good experience. Exceptional slices. Reasonable prices. Outdoor/indoor seating. Long wait (about an hour start to food - started at 5). Cool area to hang (corner stores to grab drinks, lots of outdoor seating to chill). No bathroom that I saw. Pizza was completely different from Lucali’s. It wasn’t the same life changing pizza experience as Lucali’s, but exceptional still. Great place to prime while you wait the long wait to eat at Lucali’s.
I usually go for a margarita or cheese slice when trying a place out, went for the pep. After hearing so many mixed reviews on the place I never went in, gotta say it’s a solid slice. Sauce is delicious and balanced, crust was crispy, airy and delightful. Surprisingly light slice. Idk what Portnoy gave it but it’s probably better than his score.
🍕 Crust=airy&,light suace=just enough sweetness&salty 🍕Topping=pull everything toegether to make it a perfect slice of heaven.. ☆you can't go wrong with the Pepperoni & Ricotta & Broccoli Rabe☆ ♡still need to try the suasage&peppers♡ if you get the ☆Negroni ☆ Personal Prefrence was the Regular with GIN🍷🍸 "can't wait to Bring the kids"
I can easily say that it's a top pizza place in Brooklyn and it's not even been open a week yet. The slices are light and really well cooked. Fresh basil gets added to the top after the cook along with freshly grated parmesan cheese. Get there early. And if you can't, wait in line. It's worth it and then some. Pizza Adventures: Destination #127
Made me appreciate Sicilian styled pizza even though it’s not my preferred slice. Still have to respect the pizza game but it’s basically a glorified bread stick you’ll over pay for if you get down to the bones of it. Overall, the place is clean for a quick bite to eat. Lemonade not half bad either despite how small it is.
The food here is pretty phenomenal. The wait times can vary between 10 to 25 minutes. The pizza is fantastic and is made fresh every time I visited. The atmosphere is nice family oriented and is a great place to visit if it’s just you, you’re on a date, or if families in town.
Went here for a private party that was held in the courtyard. The pizza was incredible, so crispy, which is the most important to me, without being welldone and with the most perfect cheese pulls. Ontop of that, all of the flavor profiles for the different pies were SO good (square and round). Baby Luc's also had a jazz duo and it just added to the overall vibe making it that much better. I would absolutely go back on my own and have been thinking about this pizza the last few days! 🤤
@wellhowwasit ??? What a deliciously decadent experience. If you’re looking for pizza done right Baby Luc’s is at the top of the totem. I got two plain slices and they were perfectly crisp. The sauce was gentle but it added the right balance of flavor in ratio with cheese and crunch in every bite. I was disappointed after finishing my slices because I should have bought an entire pie.
Truly amazing pizza and drinks. The staff were awesome even late night. They were still motivated to offer great service. The pizza was a true New York thin large slice with incredible toppings. We sat outside and ate pizza and had our drinks and had a great time. I definitely recommend this. We were over at a competitive pizza place earlier and they had an hour wait definitely not worth waiting. Come to this place and get a slice.
Just left...go birds!...and oh my what a great slice! I found Baby Luc's from a Google search and it was perfect. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly and the food came out fast. It was delicious! Great sauce, cheese, pepperoni and crust! 10/10 will recommend and revisit! Thank you!
I never leave google reviews but I had to for this spot! Stopped in unexpectedly to grab a bite on my way somewhere else and waited a few minutes for fresh pizza. The employees brought me a cup of water (without asking) and served me my pizza where I was sitting. The pizza was delicious and the atmosphere was wonderful. Will definitely be coming back!
Great spot. I got a traditional NY round slice and a Vodka Sauce square slice. The traditional NY round slice was seriously amazing. I loved it! The best slice I had while in NYC. Not joking. The Vodka square was really good too. If you wait in line to go to Lucali, pop over here before or after and you won’t be disappointed. It is like a block away
Good slice place. Really friendly staff, gave me a free beer when I came in. If you’re looking for a good square pizza, good place to check out. Atmosphere is really nice and although there are a lot of pizza places in the area, this is a solid choice, good combination of crispy but soft.
I'm kind of picky about how I like my Pizza and I have to say, the Pizza here is one of the best I've ever had. I got the Margarita Slice. The slices are Sicilian Style. The balance betweeen sauce and cheese is spot on. The crunch is perfect and it is a good size slice. Besides soft drinks, they also serve beer and Negroni. The staff is very nice. The indoor space is on the small side but the outdoor space is very nice. They have seating in the front and on the side they have a cute space with tables with umbrellas that are under trees and they even have a T.V. in this section. It isn't a cheap Pizza Parlor but the slices themselves are not too costly. My Margarita Slice was $5.00 and it was worth it. My only issue was when they bought out my Slice they didn't bring out any napkins. I guess I could have gotten them before going out but I thought they were going to call my name (they take your name when you order) and I would go in and get the Slice. Next time I'll wait for it inside so that I can add some Red Pepper Flakes to the Slice and get some napkins, then I'll go outside to sit in the lovely Patio.
Love the crust, straightforward menu, slices are a bit small so would go with 2 slices / person. Sausage are big chunks, prefer smaller crumbles personally so of the slices the pepperoni was the favorite. Negronis are great, they serve beer too and a few soft drinks. Tons of great outdoor seating.
It's a little tricky to review this place. It's basically an old school corner pizza shop. But the fresh paint and pricing made me expect more than paper plates for the pizza and a covered takeout container for the salad. That said, I enjoyed the pizza and the salad I had. The chicken add-on was a nice-sized cutlet, fresh and still crisp. Plenty of seating when I visited, Friday lunchtime.
They only offer two types of pizzas, I like them both, but I'd like more variety. No plates served either just a ricotta cheese broccoli rabe pizza and margarita pizza. Nice staff, music inside and ball games out back. Pitchers of a few types of beer offered. Nice neighborhood spot with the pricey neighborhood prices.
Pretty good pizza place! Honestly, for how fast the service is and no fuss, this place is great. The slices are well done and flavorful, got the vodka slice and the sauce and red peppers and thought they were delicious. I also tried their lemonade and house salad, while they were nice to cut through the heaviness of the slices, they aren't the stars of the store. Store is also lovely, especially great to come on a sunny afternoon, vibe and have a good time.
Edited on 1/13 - Despite Uber Eats complete lack of customer support, the restaurant did work to help resolve this matter which was greatly appreciated. --- Ordered delivery from here twice. First time the food was pretty good. Second time, the ravioli was completely raw and inedible. It was as if they hadn’t even cooked the pasta. I tried reaching out to the restaurant to inform them and they never replied or got back to me. Not worth going here or ordering again.
The slices, the sandwiches, the salads - they’re all quality and taste great. Mr Lucali has a great slice shop going here. Nice variety of drinks on tap too. I haven’t tried the gelato yet but it’s on my list. My only issue is the service. When it’s busy, there needs to be more staff to organize the crowd. People are waiting for take out in the same area as people ordering to dine-in and it’s confusing who to go to. It just overwhelms the staff, who are busy enough making pies, heating slices, answering phones, ringing people up, etc. I arrived 5 minutes before Uber eats estimated pickup (Sunday at 5:30pm) and wound up waiting another 20 minutes. I think my ticket was mixed up with the dine-in orders because I clearly saw a guy acknowledge me and then throw my takeout slices in the oven. When they came out, they were cold (and I live a block away). Gotta come out hotter. I recommend asking them to make the slices extra hot so they aren’t room temp by the time you get home. Otherwise, preheat your kitchen oven before leaving.
Love to grab a slice here on a warm summer day and eat in their outside patio. The pizza is good, but I do think it's a little pricey for the amount you get. I typically only buy one slice because of the price and then have to go get a snack later because it just wasn't enough. Love this place though and the atmosphere is very pleasant.
Friendly shop. Both very good slices, albeit smaller than I expected. The crust on both was perfect. The sauce was really good. I felt like the Margarita slice was missing something I couldn't quite place. The basil wasn't as basil-y as I would have hoped. I wish there was more broccoli rabe on that slice. I suppose my take away would be very good but I wanted more.
Pretty good slice. Lemon Ricotta Broccoli Rabe Square Slice - decent hit of lemon.. Creamy ricotta. Could have used some seasoning. Came here knowing it's the baby sister slice joint to Lucali around the corner. Honestly expecting more. The pies in the window just weren't... Fresh. I mean, it was good pizza but even the oven just looked... Average. Was very surprised to see a standard pizza oven with the brand of Lucali behind this place. I know it's expensive, just saying. All in all, would I come back? Sure, if I was in walking distance and wanted a slice and had $6 extra dollars. Also I forgot to pay and the guy had to chase me across the street and he was super cool about it. Shout out to the pizza guy working 2/26/26 afternoon, sorry about that bro, haha!
This place was good but it’s more of a slice spot than a whole pizza type of place. We got a whole pepperoni with peppers on it. It was tasty and good. I’d definitely go back but I’d also choose Luigi’s first. Different style though. The pepperoni was spicy which was good IMO. One downside is that we called in to order and they said 10 minutes but it was more like 45. That’s ok, I’m happy to wait but I’d probably stop somewhere else along the way instead of waiting 35 minutes here.
Very light and fluffy crust, toppings were flavorful but was a bit uneven in the dough to sauce ratio. Arancini were crispy and cheesy, and if you go near close you might score a few free items! Reviews on here are harsh, it’s not Lucali’s but it’s not trying to be. More of a casual neighborhood spot that can be a little inconsistent but is overall good. Recommend stopping by in the warmer weather with friends to grab some food and chat on the patio
Great place for a snack break. The sandwich was great - on sesame bread that was perfectly crispy. Pizzas are classic flavors and very good. Don’t expect the same type of thin slices that you get at Lucali’s though. They’re still good, just different. They mostly have square slices and a few classic triangles. Prices are a bit steep but it’s expected (the sandwich was $20 for 3 meatballs lol). Staff was also very nice. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star was because the pizza kinda lacked the cheese like the more classic pizzas. But that’s just the style. The dough was crispy and airy, just thick.
Want a special little day date destination? This is it. Want a quick slice as you walk to wherever you are going? This is the place. Need a smile because the workers are amazing and nice, and will leave you feeling like you’re the most important person in the world? Baby Luc’s is the place. My wife and I stopped by here to grab a quick bite on the way to the street market around the corner. We had to stop. I say we had to because as we were walking up the street, we smelled something amazing on the breeze and it led us to Baby Luc’s. The staff is kind, friendly and considerate. But they are also patient. The sitting area inside is clean and open, while the sitting areas outside (yes, multiple) is clean, relaxing, quiet and perfect for singles, couples or families. We will return and we will try more food because this place was the highlight of our outing and not easily forgotten.
Insanely expensive for mediocre pizza. Was hoping to be impressed but everything about it should $2 per slice and not whatever they're charging for being in the area. Is it an ok slice that pretty much average? Yes. Would I come back? No, unless they lower prices
I live around the corner, and from the start, I loved the place but for the red logo all around the outdoor enclosure, but it was painted over and is all cream, which looks so much classier. We LOVED the pizza, AND the NEGRONIs! Especially the Mezcal Negronis and the Broccoli Rabe pizza. The crust was airy and olive oily, and very focaccia like. I loved it. We've been back once or twice a week. Just this evening, my husband brought back a margarita slice, because they were all out of everything else, and, it isn't only different, it was worse than average and very disappointing. The crust was burnt, average, dense and chewy and kinda bland. Whatever is going on, Mark, go back to what you had going on before, PLEASE! I would've given SIX stars if I could but after tonight, . . . eh. I'd give it another try in hopes it was a bad night (we all have them) which is what I'm hoping. Fingers crossed! Update Autumn 2022: Baby Luc’s got it together with their pizza. It’s so delicious, BUT, sorry, the prices increased exponentially. $34.66 for 5 small(er) slices. 😕
Pros: decent round slice, ok square slices. Cons: service is really slow. Understaffed, and the staff that is there move very slowly. Order a slice on a weekday and expect a 15 minute wait at least (all to warm up a premade slice, which should really take 3-5 min tops).
This is ALMOST great. There are just some small things that are missing that would push it over the edge from a decent slice to a fantastic one. I got a slice of sausage and pep and a slice of broccoli rabe and ricotta. The red sauce wasn’t seasoned enough and was a little watery, which made the mozz slip around a lot more. The sausage was great. The other slice was almost perfect - I feel like the globs of seasoned ricotta are great, but it could be even better to have those AND a little spread across the rest of the pie. It would make the flavor of it all way more enticing. I’m a sucker for ricotta and this stuff is next level. Fantastic dough - not a lot of people realized how good Sicilian style pizza can be. You can tell it’s made with love and the hydration ratio is 👌
We chose this pizza place because we heard the owner won one of the TV shows Chopped, so we expected both great food and great service. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype. The food was very average and definitely overpriced. We paid $44 for eight slices of pizza, and the taste was no different from regular pizza you can get elsewhere. On top of that, the dining area was filthy, dirty, and messy. No one seemed to care about cleaning the space, which made the experience even worse. Overall, it’s not worth paying $44 for pizza when you can get something similar from Domino’s or other pizza places for around $20.
Today we tried three slices—Margherita, pepperoni, and Calabria vodka—and paired them with an IPA. If you’re familiar with Lucali, you’ll know that Baby Luc’s doesn’t quite compare or come close to Lucali’s pizzas. That said, Baby Luc’s offers above-average slices in a small, cute space with an okay ambiance. For the overall experience, though, the pies feel a bit overpriced and the service could use improvement. Unfortunately, while we were sitting in the corner enjoying our slices, the person working the oven managed to drop an empty pizza box on top of my mom’s head and barely acknowledged it with an apology—if there was one, we didn’t hear it. Decent slices, but the experience didn’t fully match the price point or expectations.
This is a fun neighborhood spot always crawling with locals and I love it. The pizza is okay, but the vibe is the reason why you should come here. It’s a great place on a warm day since you can have beer and enjoy the outdoor patio furniture. Most of the pizza has been lying out for a while and is just reheated but it’s not terrible. Not sure if I’d come back but good for a one time visit.
I rate the overall experience to be average, but what makes it a poor experience is the high price on drinks for an extremely low volume and the quality of food you get. Baby Luc’s used to have really flavorful pizza but recently I visited and it was extremely bland. The quality of ingredients were fine, the crust was good, but the overall taste was mediocre. Would not come back again.
Love the atmosphere and the people working are very friendly. But, the consistency and quality is not there. I’ve probably been 4-5 times total and I never know what pizza I’m about to get served. I ordered the vodka slice last night (something I’d had a few months ago and loved), but last night it was one of the worst slices I’ve ever had. I don’t know what’s going on at this place (tastes like cutting corners), but sadly, yesterday was probably my last time.
Customer service is not great here. My order got messed up (happens) and it took them a while to get to me and help correct it but then they gave me the wrong order again. When they finally got it right I was in a hurry to get out of the shop (20 min in a slice shop is too long…) My order was correct but the pizza was cold. I think they got frustrated and just bagged up the correct slice without heating it up. Im a regular customer and come in just about every week, unfortunately this is not the first time my order was packed incorrectly. Disappointing experience at this price point.
Dec 2025 update: Baby Luc's and Lucali are protesting the Court Street bike lane. I will not return to either business until they stop their opposition to a project that has already been completed, has extensive evidence supporting it, and is keeping our neighborhood safe Jan 2025 Update: Tried the thin crust and unfortunately it was also a let down. Too much cheese and the sauce was like a pasta sauce with how peppery it was. I really want to love this place with the branding and location. Unfortunately the pizza is just missing something. It's sauce forward and the crust is solid, but it doesn't sum up to a memorable slice. It's above average for NYC but with so many other solid places in the neighborhood it's hard to recommend this place for the price. The location, branding and pedigree means this place has the potential to become cult status IF the pizza is given an overhaul. I hope the owners consider that.
After 40m wait got a sausage pizza that was sloppy, broke apart, wet and crust was doughy. NYC pizza has to hold up ingredients, has to be able to be folded, not sweet and not sloppy or wet. Frank's down the street is less doughy but too greasy and not as tasty, both places are not so amazing for the price. I prefer wood oven crust nicely high heat baked so fast that dough is strong but not sloppy and thin, well blended with toppings. I order from enoteca because I prefer wood oven. This place is related to Lucalis which I also prefer.
I’ll let you look at the pic and be the judge but for only tomato sauce (I got the tomato pie) I expected at least a bit more sauce? Maybe some garlic? And it was definitely supposed to have basil. I know it’s tough to deliver a good pizza without cheese but Baby Luc’s most definitely does not deliver. Gave at least 2 stars as I can tell that the crust could be good if there was actually something on top. 😩
Server/cashier was very nice. Ambiance is great, and the mezcal negroni was great. The pizza just wasn’t very good unfortunately. It didn’t help that they didnt warm up / cook the pizza enough. Even then, the flavor and balance of the ingredients wasn’t very good. Not much else to say other than I wouldn’t return here in a city with great pizza options.
I stood in front of the register, and the guy behind the register, who is definitely a super cool guy, decided to ignore me and ring up an online order first. Didn't say Hi, no "please give me a minute," nada. Acted as if I wasn't there. I waited a full 10 minutes and decided to go somewhere else for a snack. Great customer service attitude.
Pizza was trash!!!!!! I use to love this place post pandemic we order margarita pizza and was filled watercress!!! Not basil. Even you were trying a new style there’s no flavor in watercrest and it doesn’t belong in a margarita pizz@. Leave this place for the folks at Carroll gardens place is trash. Btw we spent $100on a pie and 2 cocktails.
7$ a slice. There were scallions on my vodka slice. The slice was about as big as the palm of my hand. Wouldn't even call this pizza. Bottom worst 5 slices ive ever had. A disgrace to new york pizza everywhere.
The pizza was nasty and burnt. The pizza tasted like generic brand frozen pizza. The service was rude. Save your money and get Digiorno. I don’t understand why people eat here when F&F (amazing pizza) is down the street.
Really one of the worst slices in nyc. Dough is totally messed up, flavors totally off balance. Truly a punishment to consume, worse than dollar pizza in my opinion. Mark, you need to fire the staff or close this place altogether because it makes you look like a clown to sell expensive pizza this bad. This pizza is an act of violence on the community.
Incredibly underwhelming. Does not live up to the Lucali standard. Even though it’s just a slice shop, the quality isn’t there at the $5+ that they are charging per slice. The pepperoni slice was overcooked, lacked sauce and didn’t have an overall robust taste. The Margherita was ok but nothing special. The shop itself is very nice, presentable and clean. Definitely a one time visit for me. If you want a quality Sicilian/Square slice, you’re better off going somewhere like Joe’s, Paulie Gee’s, Rosa’s or Prince Street.
I don’t know what happened with this place. Sometimes they make great square pizza 8.5/10 but sometimes is 3/10. I don’t really know the reason behind it. I was here 3 times First time it was 8/10 Second time 8,5/10 Third time 3/10( the reason is right after eating pepperoni, salami and vodka pizza ) my stomach felt insane pain. I was recovering two days after that. I hope this never happens with you guys. Stay safe. That’s sucks…… No more Baby Luca pizza for me.
