Overall my experience here was great, I loved their combination of sweet and savory and it was an amazing meal. I had super high hopes for this place and often times spots disappoint and this was not the case. Glad to say everything was delicious and a few stand outs such as the lamb ribs which I’m not a fan of lamb at all, but gave it a shot cuz of all the hype. It was amazing. Definitely worth trying.
I’ve been to Eyval more times than I can count and it somehow gets better every time. Nothing on the menu misses. Every single dish is unique in its own way. The chef really put thought into every single one of his creations — you can taste the intention, the balance, the detail in every bite. The kabob koobideh is tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned every single time. But the lamb ribs… I mean, so soooo good it’s actually insane. Fall-off-the-bone, smoky, rich, unreal — I think about them after I leave. And the barbari bread comes out warm and fresh, soft on the inside with just the right crisp on the outside. They have a seasonal shirazi salad that’s literally out of this world. Genuinely the best salad I’ve ever had in my entire life. The dressing is this rich minty lemon flavor. If you go to Eyval, those are mandatory. No discussion.
Eyval breathes new life into ancient embers. It is less a restaurant and more a love letter to the Persian hearth, written in smoke and saffron. It is a place where pomegranate rubies meet the roar of the grill—a vibrant, noisy, and transcendent sanctuary for the palate. Eyval doesn't just serve dinner; it captures the lightning of Iranian flavors and bottles it in the heart of Brooklyn.
My husband planned a surprise date night for us here and we both absolutely loved every single thing we ordered (I am vegetarian and drink mocktails but my husband isn’t and drinks alcohol). The staff was absolutely lovely and it was an incredible night overall. We were definitely STUFFED because we had no chill 😂 ps - Unfortunately do not have pics of our entrees.
Delicious food!!!! I’ve been this place for three time and will still going. Kinda hard to get reservations but totally worth it. The environment is quite loud but is good for family time.
A fantastic dinner. So many dishes were just incredible. The absolute star of the show was the lamb chops. Smokey, tender, and just an absolutely phenomenal dish. Whipped feta app was also great. But the second star of the show was the citrus date salad. Waitress recommended it and I was honestly shocked at how much detail went into the dish. Very memorable. I wouldn't get the short rib again, something about the stew was a little out of place for me. But instead I'd order two servings of the lamb chops next time, they were that good. Would absolutely come back, loves this experience.
One of the most delicious Persian dinner and food in NYC. They are usually booked 2 weeks in advance but people cancel all the time so keep checking for a spot to become available. The squash spread and the eggplant dish were out of this world🤯🤤 Loved the Persian cocktail too. Service was fast and staff very nice. Spot super recommended!
Utterly outstanding. One of my best meals of 2025. I was recommended to come here by my husband, who is a tad obsessed with it, and now I can see why! Nothing better than seeing a thriving spot take food, dishes, ingredients, service and buzz so seriously. The menu is varied and full of surprises, and not all dishes will work for all the pallettes at the table, and that is what makes it fun. You share everything and try lots of culinary ideas and see what sticks!
This Persian fusion gem never misses. Every visit delivers incredible quality, from their must-have kashke bademjoon to the perfectly seasoned koobideh. Their seasonal additions—like the new mahi and kabab torsh—bring a bold, sour-leaning flavor that’s just as unforgettable. Reservations can be tricky at prime hours, but the first-come, first-served bar seating is a lifesaver. If you want consistently exceptional Persian fusion, this is the place
I was visiting New York, and my friends had secured a reservation here weeks in advance — and I can see why! The vibes were immaculate — a perfect blend of modern and Persian aesthetics. The music, the staff, the atmosphere — everything was spot on. We ordered the Barbare bread with masto moosir, the octopus kebab, the kashkeh bademjoon, and the kebab — every single dish was incredible. The flavors were authentic yet elevated, enhancing traditional Persian spices beautifully. This was hands down one of the best Persian meals I’ve ever had outside of someone’s home. 10/10 — if you haven’t tried it yet, you need to. Absolutely amazing! I will deff be going back here when I come to New York again
Best dishes were the lamb ribs and eggplant dip. The bread pairing to go with is the crunchy long bread. The other bread was too soft and delicate. I also liked the mint dressing on the salad. The octopus was just okay and the potato rice was a bit salty. Tip, go at least an hour early for walk-ins. If you miss the first wave, then you have to wait 1.5h. Bar seats are for walks ins with a limit of 2 per and a total of 7 seats. Although they seemed to break the rule for 2 per unfortunately
We booked this restaurant three months in advance for our NYC trip and it was absolutely worth the wait. If you’re visiting New York, this is a must-go. Every bite tasted like heaven. It’s Persian food made with care, creativity, and love. Eyval you got 10/10 from a Persian couple visiting from Melbourne, Australia. Thank you Sanaz
We went to Eyval for dinner and found parking without much trouble. The place had a nice energy with a modern look and a comfortable crowd. The kitchen was fast and the food was excellent. The ghorme sabzi had deep flavor and tender meat. The tahdig was golden and crisp, and the kabob was juicy and well seasoned with saffron rice and grilled tomatoes. The servers, however, weren’t very attentive. Drinks sat empty for a while, and it took some effort to get their attention. For two people, the total was about $120, which felt fair for the quality. Overall, Eyval delivers top Persian food and a great vibe, but the service could be more engaged to match the kitchen’s pace.
Eyval was nothing short of fantastic! This was my first time trying Persian food and I was truly amazed by every dish we tried. The flavor combinations were unique and delicious, with the perfect mix of sweet and savory. We tried both the komaj bread and barbari bread, which had perfect textures of soft and fluffy. The citrus date salad was super refreshing and light with deep flavors from the dressing and dates, which was the perfect appetizer. We decided to try the lamb ribs, octopus kabob, and kabob koobideh as our entrees. The meat for all dishes were amazingly tender and flavorful, with the ribs falling right off the bone and the octopus perfectly chewy. The star of the shows in these dishes however, was the tomato butter that was served on top of the basmati rice in the kabob koobideh! It was so savory without being salty and wish there was more on the plate. I recommend all of these to share! The interior was simple but beautifully designed, creating a nice ambiance that takes you out of New York City. As you walk further in, you’re able to view the kitchen where chefs are carefully crafting each dish. The service was exceptional also! Our server was very attentive to our table, making sure dishes were cleared and plates were swapped out for an easy dining experience. I also mentioned it was my birthday and they served my dessert with candle, which was a very thoughtful gesture. Overall, this place was the perfect birthday dinner and glad I ventured out to try new food here! We are already thinking about our next visit to try more of their menu as I’m sure every dish will not disappoint.
The food is SOOO good. This was supposed to be a stop during my trip but realized that our rehearsals for our NY performance clashed exactly will Eyval's opening hours. I was super sad so my husband decided to get me take out!! I am SO pleased. He got me photos of the food and the plating is so beautiful. I hope I get to visit NY again just so I can eat at Eyval again haha ..and perhaps next time in person! I got to try the lamb...I don't even know how they made it that good. I loved the dry pomegranates on top. The color is so beautiful too. Tried the salad & the roasted eggplant. Both very yummy. The cardamom chocolate cake was DIVINE!! 😍 Highly recommend!!!
Eyval is by far the best Persian restaurant I have ever been to. The food is absolutely fantastic—each dish feels like a true work of art. Chef Ali is not only an incredibly talented chef but also a wonderful human being and a true artist when it comes to creating unforgettable flavors. The vibe of the restaurant is unmatched. Everyone who works there is so warm and kind—it feels like being welcomed into one big family where their only goal is to make every guest happy. The energy and atmosphere are just perfect. This place deserves a Michelin star without question. Everything is made fresh the same day, and you can truly taste that freshness in every single bite. If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience, Eyval is it.
This place is awesome! My family and I had the best meal. The menu is made for sharing. Every dish we ordered was the best I’ve had. The service was great. The team worked together seamlessly. We were not rushed. The dishes were brought out in a timely fashion. Our table was never devoid of food. The drinks were unique and delicious. The vibe was great!
Eyval is a must especially if you love Persian food. The restaurant is open and airy and is much bigger than you realize. There are three separate dining areas to it. There were 3 of us and we definitely over ordered but wanted to try different dishes. See the photos. We had some serious leftovers. The cocktails are unique in flavor and easy to drink. Our waiter was very sweet and thoroughly explained the dishes and guided us on what to order. The entire staff was very personable every time they came to the table, either to bring food or clear the table. Unbelievable flavors in these well curated dishes! Reservations required!!!
We had been long waiting for the opportunity to try Eyval, and it turned out to be a delightful experience overall. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the servers were incredibly friendly and attentive. The food was a mix of good and fantastic. The lamb ribs were absolutely out of this world. Chenjeh was also fantastic. For both dishes, I would happily give them more than five stars if I could. Koobideh was good, on the upper side of good, I would rate it 4.5 stars. Ghormeh sabzi and tahdig were both below my expectations, I gave them 4 stars. Overall, the restaurant experience was more of a 4.5 to 4, but I had to choose between 4 and 5 stars, it would definitely be 4. I will definitely return if it’s only for the lamb ribs!
Maybe I got a bad apple, but this was some of the laziest, sloppiest service I’ve had… ever. Especially for a restaurant of this calibre. (Will elaborate) The food was good. Some of it was not good. The beef short ribs tasted were filled with what tasted like canned beans. Lamb ribs, which everyone seems to holler about, were not for me?? I couldn’t eat more than 1. A combination of the texture + the overpowering sauce. The bread is good but y’all it’s $6 bread. It should come with the dips. The yogurt dip was basic but good. The Brussels sprouts dip was good. Desserts were good! Only thing I would order again is the Wagyu kebab situation. That was yummy I think the play here is a lot a lot of dips. Maybe the fish / chicken is better than the red meat, it didn’t hit for me. The drinks. The Saffron martini tasted purely like moonshine, I got exactly zero saffron. Their coffee based cocktail I didn’t love (tasted cheap?). The cucumber mint one was alright and the mezcal pepercorn one was good. Draft beer was super whatever. However, our server was on a different planet, one where attention to detail doesn’t exist. She came up to us for the first time asking for dessert. I was like we’ll start with the meal first 😂. Ordered cocktails which took 30+ minutes to come. Then, when it came to ordering food, we asked for recs. She started just recommending something and then adding it to our bill. I had to stop her, ask her to please stop adding things to our list and let us choose lmao. “I will add one of those” should not be something the server says, unless it’s on the house! It took her 45+ minutes to return with a draft beer. When I asked for the dessert menu, she gave me the drink menu and returned 20 mins later asking what we wanted for dessert, to which I had to say, I don’t know because we didn’t have the menu! They also delivered the wrong bread and the wrong cocktail during our dinner A lot of people have loved this place and I fully went in hoping to join the club, but unfortunately this meal and experience fell quite short for me.
I wish this place was good, but We couldn't find what we're looking for and Price that we paid absolutely does not match the quality we get from the food, Some dishes tasted really but others tasted like nothing , flavorless or flat. They did good job with adding spices to tahini and other sauces and dressings, but again not all dishes..... Waiter was not able focus or answer our all questions , They were just rushing, running.... Our experience was just okay, May be but may be can come back just for specific dishes hope they can keep their tastes good
