Good bagel spot. Cash only and usually there's a line, but worth it. Staff members continuously jump in to attend to customers, keeping the line moving. They have all the basics. A great for a grab-and-go breakfast.

Edit: As of 11/25/23, a bagel with cream cheese has once again gone up in price and hit $3.75. That’s a bit too much for Bay Ridge prices. The bagels are great and everything is made consistently well. The staff is super nice and make you feel appreciated. I’ve never received poor service from them. I got to owe it to Frank the owner who treats his employees and customers fairly. This beats Bagel Boy or Mr. Bagels Cafe everyday of the week. Keep it up!

Dare I say, an outstanding bagel. Warm, a little crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, plenty of cream cheese. If I was local I'd be here more often than my wife would let me.

Great bagels great service. Sometimes the line is really long but it’s a small place it usually moves at a moderate by pace. Good coffee for the price. My go to is a bacon egg cheddar with an extra egg on a toasted everything flagel with hot sauce.

I love this neighborhood gem. These are the best bagels in NYC! My friend and I stop by every weekend for a bagel. My favorite bagel order is their everything bagel with bacon, egg, and cheddar cheese. H& L bagels are soft and chewy and worth the walk even when it's 20 degrees outside. Bring cash! I only wish they delivered. I love the friendly staff too.

This review is long overdue. This is the best bagel shop in all of Bay Ridge and you could take that to the bank. If Bay Ridge has one thing, it’s great bagel shops and this one is King. Crispy on the outside soft on the inside. I love how the guy who owns the place is the one who’s making the bagels and he makes a great one at that, the staff is super friendly and accommodating and respectful and you feel appreciated. I pass by at least five or six bagel stores just to go to this one and it never fails.

No surprise there's a line. This is the real deal. Great variety. Fresh meats, cheeses, salads. Great service, too! Really about the best bagel I've ever had outside of Manhattan

It's a shame that a place with such good bagels can't make people wear two gloves on both hands. It's simple. Instead they wear one glove and use the other hand to deal with cash (It's cash only, which is fine, but they should have a separate person handling the cash than handling the food). I went here for years but got sick recently and just can't do it anymore. The hand without the gloves touches the cash, the register, the coffee lids, basically everything you need a second hand for other than touching the food. Simple fix - wash the place down, wear two gloves, have a dedicated cashier during busy times, and problem solved.

$20 for 4 everything bagels with vegetable cream cheese was too much. Employee was upset when I told him I wanted the bagels toasted w/ vegetable cream cheese. He was too quick to put the bagels into a bag without allowing me to finish speaking. The area is too cramped for folks to line up and wait. It's confusing to know who already ordered and who is waiting to order.

This breaks my heart to leave a bad review of my all time favorite bagels place. Can't believe how dirty and filthy disgusting this place has become. The bagel was still good but I just couldn't enjoy it. Sad 😔
