If you're looking for a dining experience that will transport you to the heart of Latin America, look no further, Puertas is where you want to go. From the moment you step inside, you'll be struck by the vibrant artwork and warm, welcoming atmosphere. But it's the food that truly steals the show. I ordered their arroz con pollo and wow! The chicken was cooked perfectly, great sear on the skin and the chicken was flavorful, along with the rice. The staff are some of the friendliest and most knowledgeable around, happy to guide you through the menu and make recommendations based on your preferences. Whether you're a Latin food lover or just looking to branch out and try something new, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
So happy I decided to move forward and have my son's baptism at Puertas. It was a private event for our close family and friends. I'm very thankful for Tiffany who helped me organize such a special day for my baby. Bay Ridge was in desperate need of a Puertas! The vibe, the ambiance, the food and drinks are always so great. My guests were very happy. 10+ plus stars for exceptional service! We can't wait to go back again.
If you are a man vs. food challenge person, try their Pandeja Paisa! A bit pricey, but for good reason! Skirt steak cooked-to-order, sausage, pork belly, avo, arepa, maduros, rice & beans and an egg. Food is flavorful and plentiful. I sat at the bar and the bartender was hardly behind the bar, so it was like table service. Needs were met. Good everything-latino cuisine place.
As soon as we walked in all we hear was Live music!! Great vibes, service was on point as well as Food!! Def coming back!!!
My sister insisted we go to this place for my cousin's 50th brunch. I am so glad she insisted. Upon walking in, you get this cozy feeling, and greeted with a smile. The ambiance is great, with awesome paintings of Hispanic singers. Everyone was so accommodating upon walking in. Some of us chose the boozy brunch option, where others ordered specialty cocktails. Either way, one can't go wrong, but the specialty cocktails were delicious. On top of the service and the drinks, the appetizers and main entrees didn't disappoint either. We had the guacamole and tostones, along with a platano waffle. Both were incredible. On to the entree, steak with eggs, arepa and white rice that tasted just like my abuelitas! I can't wait to return to this place!
Puertas Restaurant exceeded all expectations with its impeccable service and delectable dishes. From the moment we stepped inside, we were warmly greeted by a waiter he patiently guiding us through the menu, he offered helpful suggestions that enhanced our dining experience. I ordered a medium steak it was cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor and expertly seasoned. As for the dessert, it was a true delight, leaving us craving more with each bite. It was a great experience that I will eagerly return to time and time again :)!
Best experience for my cousins 21st birthday super welcoming fun,we love Gustavo he made sure we were good and was the life of the party especially the other workers 10/10 recommend thank you puertas and Gustavo for making sure we were well taken care of
Exquisite Latin Dining Experience! I recently had the pleasure of dining at this upscale Latin restaurant, and it exceeded all expectations. The atmosphere is elegant, creating the perfect setting for a special evening. The staff is not only attentive but also adds a warm and welcoming touch to the overall experience. Now, let's talk about the food – it's nothing short of exceptional! Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, showcasing the rich flavors and diverse influences of Latin cuisine. The attention to detail in both presentation and taste is truly commendable. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, everything was impeccable. If you're looking for a dining experience that combines sophistication, friendly service, and outstanding food, this is the place to be. A solid 5-star recommendation!
Classic Nuyorican vibes and delectable cuisine that invigorates your taste buds. The staff was exceptionally responsive (refilling water, tending a spilled beverage, bringing dessert menus, etc.), even with the gigantic graduation party at the middle table. Traditional Puerto Rican fare and music. Gotta go again to sample more of the menu.
Had a great experience tonight and definitely recommend: - Owners and workers were all friendly, helpful and on point. - Place was full of patrons, decorated nicely with musical theme, and vibe; Live band plays on wkends. - Food arrivals were perfect, tasted fantastic and we were so full. Had Calamari Fritto to start, Carne Asada (skirt steak) and Ropa Vieja, and ended with Coconut Flan.
Had brunch here last weekend and have not been able to stop thinking about it. The food was amazing- beautiful presentation. The chef is also vegan trained for anyone interested in that info. The interior was really cool and servers were so sweet. I live in Philly but am ready to make the trip back for round 2!
This restaurant has such a great vibe. Couldn’t have had a better night! The food is EXCELLENT, service top notch, mixed drinks are tasty and creative. We had 5 people and tried a bunch of apps, entrees and drinks. Personally I had the pollo guisado, tamarind and mezcal shots, mango margarita, tried the fried chicken and both the shrimp and chicken empanadas and I honestly don’t have a single complaint! This is a restaurant worth going out of your way for. Will be back!! (I wish I took more photos of the food)
I’ve been here on two occasions once for dinner and the other Sunday brunch with the DJ. The food on both occasions has been amazing as well as the impeccable service and the drinks are always on point. It’s a VIBE!!! If you looking for good food , music and amazing service Puertas will not disappoint . Tell a friend to tell a friend 💃🏻
Puertas: A Must-Visit Latin Cuisine Spot If you’re craving Latin cuisine with exceptional service, Puertas is the place to go. From the moment we walked in, Bella, the hostess, greeted us with the sweetest smile, setting the perfect tone for our evening. Our server, Gustavo, was a gem. He was incredibly attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home. His recommendations were spot on, and he ensured we had everything we needed. The drinks at Puertas are amazing. They’re crafted with the quality you'd expect in Manhattan, but at Brooklyn prices. Each cocktail is a delight, thanks to their talented bartender. The food is a fantastic complement to the outstanding service. Every dish is packed with flavor and authenticity, making it a true culinary treat. Overall, Puertas offers a wonderful dining experience. Bella, Gustavo, and the bartender make you feel special, and the food and drinks are top-notch. We’d come back just for the service, but the delicious food is a bonus. Highly recommended!
The people here maintain standards that others should copy. The workers display decent kindness and clear helpfulness. Every dish demonstrated excellence. They perform their tasks skillfully. I appreciate your attentive service, pleasant staff and wonderful food preparation.
I went to Puertas to celebrate my parents 30th year anniversary 😊 great food and service. We all orders the carne asada which was cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. We also had the coconut flan which I definitely recommend it was delicious. Also try there cocktails which were yummy. If you need to celebrate a birthday or any important event I definitely recommend you check out puertas 😊
This place was AMAZINGGGGG.. Every thing about it from the moment you walk in!! The staff is super attentive and the food and drinks was the best I’ve had in a longggg time.. We asked them if they could sing Happy Birthday and they came out and danced and all…They even took pictures with us while doing their job.. 10 out of 10..Thank you Puertas Staff🫶🏼
If you want a dining experience that takes you on a mini vacation this is the perfect spot. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere makes you feel as if you left Nyc. The food and service are top tier. Had an amazing time here, will be coming back. P.S Their Arroz con leche(rice pudding) donuts are A GAME CHANGER!!
Amazing service, food and atmosphere! We loved everything we ate here so far (kudos to the chef) and will definitely be going back. If you’re thinking about trying this place out, just do it! 10/10
I went there today in honor of my late mom on PR Day today. The music, the ambiance (pictures of Tito Puente Celia Cruz, Willie Colon, Hector Lavoe and 33 album records—What?), the friendliness, great service, great quality fresh food was heavenly! It took me back when I was a little girl and my mom cooking authentic Spanish cuisine with the same 33 records playing. I had the avocado starter which was so.fresh and perfectly ripped with radishes and tomatoes, and tostones on the side, slightly salted—Yum!! Then I had their beet, curly carrots and arugula, and a little white cheese salad—so healthy and delicious! Since I wanted the coconut flan, I skipped the entree because I was already getting full! Let me tell you, the flan will NOT disappoint anyone who tries it. Why? Whether you like it soft (as I do) or more like cake (firmer), the flan at La Puerta is right in the middle! The taste—-I have to admit, better than my late mom’s—sorry mom! In fact, the best I ever had! The presentation like no other I have ever seen either. WOW!! Can’t wait to go back!!
I dined at Puertas last night and had a lovely time. It is one of the few upscale Latin fusion restaurants in Bay Ridge, and it absolutely deserves our support. The restaurant, including the bathroom, was clean and sanitary, and I personally observed the staff busily cleaning and clearing tables and common areas. No one lazed about; everyone kept busy. I was eager to try the Empanadas de Carne, as they were a twist on your ordinary empanada. The saffron was palatable, and the aji spices raised the bar on the standard “meat pie” you’d experience at other restaurants. The aji gave them a semi-sweet, but savory, flavor. The drinks were spectacular. They were well-measured, bold, and flavorful. The drink featured in the photo below was their DeLeon Smash, which is a creative variation on a whiskey smash and a Mojito. The fresh mint combined with the Grand Marnier is something I urge you to try. Honestly, my only complaint is the owners haven’t figured out how to make this place a Latin music scene. There was plenty of space to pull out booths, adjust table sizes, and create a stage where Bay Ridge could have a hub of the Latin music scene. The ambiance is a perfect fit, and they can do so much more than serve just great food and drinks. Go visit them.
Another's gem in Bayridge, food was excellent, service was great, definitely will come back again. The great thing is they have a variety of food, Puerto Rican, Mexican,... I should have take a poc to the menu, but it will for next time.
✨⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ If you haven’t been to Puertas Restaurant in Bay Ridge yet, you’re seriously missing out! The food was beyond amazing — every bite packed with flavor — and the drinks? Absolute perfection 🍹🔥 The vibes, the service, the presentation… everything was on point. Definitely a new favorite spot! 💯
I ate here yesterday for the 1st time. The food was very good. We had, pork, steak, chicken, and shredded beef, guacamole, beet salad and sangria. The only recommendation is to lower the music a little bit. It’s hard to have a conversation when it’s too loud. Besides that everything was great!
10 out of 10 highly recommend!! The Food was Delicious very authentic! Drinks were very good strong in a good way! Lol service was fast and friendly. Beautiful atmosphere really captures the feel of puerto Rico. I ordered the skirt steak with the mashed potatoes and chimichurri sauce on top My partner ordered fried pork chop with arroz con gandules. Both very flavorful!
I came here for my pre- birthday dinner. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. The decor and ambiance of this restaurant are great. Throughout the restaurant, there are pics of legend latin artists. The menu has a variety of food choices to choose from. I love how the menu has different latin dishes from different countries. The bar is nice and spacious. For drinks, we ordered Coco Cruz, Ruben Blades Rum, and a frozen strawberry margarita. Drinks were nice and strong. Appetizers were delicious. We ordered guacamole with tostones, shrimp ceviche, and Empanadas. I loved how each empanada was shaped differently to distinguish the filling inside. For our main entrees, we ordered the Bandeja Paisa, Ropa Vieja, and Carne Asada. All three dishes were delicious and packed with flavors. For dessert we ordered dairy free tres leche cake and a coconut flan. Both desserts were delicious. Staff came out to sing happy birthday to me. We were brought out free shots. Overall, this place is amazing. The bathroom is kept cleaned. Staff was very attentive and super friendly. We will definitely be returning back. Keep up with them on social media, where they post when they have brunch events or live bands in attendance. Amazing latin restaurant in Bayridge.
Took the family out for a late Saturday brunch and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Kids got the chicken sandwich and a waffle and wife and I ordered our own apod and entrees. Service, food, atmosphere were all excellent!
I looooove Puertas! We celebrated my mom’s birthday there. Music in great, drinks are so good. 45$ for margaritas unlimited is a bit pricey but still very very good. The food is incredible. 10/10 I recommend. The staff is awesome.
My family and I have been here on multiple occasions and it never disappoints. Menu has changed over time since they opened and we have been able to try so many different things. All super delicious! Waiters, bartenders and staff always have a smile on there face and happy to attend. Let’s not forget the most amazing music that’s playing even on the weekday. Drinks are great and definitely worth the price. Would recommend to everyone for big events or even quick bites. Sharing some pics
The food is fresh and flavorful. The menu has a great combination of food from different countries. The service was great too. We enjoyed the drinks as well.
My mom and I decided to stop in for brunch here at the newly opened Puertas located right on third avenue. I’ve been following their Instagram for quite some time and we finally decided to try it out! If you think the photos look heavenly; wait till you taste the food! Of course with brunch you start with the drinks; and to set the summer vibes we had the Colada and the Paloma and those hit the spot. Moving onto the food we had the Plantain Waffle, Eggs Benedict (w shredded steak), and then the Calentado Colombiano. Every plate was amazing. The arepas with the eggs benedict worked so well together and I don’t really have the words to describe how much I loved the waffle with the guava sauce. We finished off the meal with Arroz con Leche donuts (If I didn’t eat two full plates I’d probably eat like six of these) Lastly, the staff here are so friendly and accommodating. Everyone who we interacted with was so nice! There’s nothing better than eating good food in an environment that makes you feel so welcome. I’m already looking forward to the next time we visit!

Have eaten here before and loved the food. I bought a gift card for some family members as a Christmas present this week. Well, they let me know today that in a storm, they went above and beyond to not only cook a specialty item but to also deliver it. You have customers for life! And let that be a lesson to others that acts of kindness go a long way!
I love that this restaurant has live music From when you enter the staff greet you and welcomes your with a smile. The staff is super friendly. The food is amazing specially their arepa and the arroz chaufa. The highlight of the evening is their bartender Jesus Gonzales new to the team who delights you with his well balanced cocktails . Overall an amazing experience ! Will be returning 😊 always make it a point to stop at puertas for their excellence in service and their attention to their customer. A big fan . Thanks Puertas🫶

The restaurant is located in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn. The restaurant prepares Spanish/Latin cuisine. I ordered the grilled salmon with sweet potatoes, corn, avocado mousse and pickled red cabbage. The chicken fajitas included red and green peppers, poblano mole, white rice, pico de gallo, frijoles, guacamole and two flour tortillas. The fish empanada was good and shaped like a fish. The restaurant is decorated for the Halloween holiday. Friendly and helpful staff.
We loved fried calamari, so we had to order it twice. Passion fruit mojito was absolutely delicious. Didn't like the guacamole at all, it had this aftertaste like from the store. I am not sure if it was fresh. We felt like shrimp ceviche was not worth it, serving very little plus lots of avocado and tomato, really little shrimp. Love Ropa Vieja ,but was little salty. The pork was great. Service was good, no complaints here. Not sure if we come back, but this is my honest review.
The food was good, But they brought out the food at different times. Drinks were great. They need more servers on Saturday. We waited for a while to get our food. The place is super cute and the food is great. But be prepared to wait for a while to get your food. Drinks are $15+ but they are definitely worth it. We all had different foods and everything was good. There’s only one bathroom for the whole restaurant. Bathroom was very clean. We spent about $45 a person for lunch.
It has great ambience and decor clean bathroom and good drinks. Food was good. It gets a little cold with the doors open but me and my fam had a good time.A little pricey but fresh. The fish was great Condiment made fresh. Really enjoy the fries as well.

I came with a party of 2 for my friends birthday. It wasn't busy inside and we were seated right away. The place inside looks awesome. The art is cool the atmosphere is nice. The menu is very selective. I tried ordering a dish of the menu that had steak as the meat and I wanted to switch it to chicken because I don't eat steak. All I got was: The chef said No. I resulted in the shrimp, which I would not recommend. My friend enjoyed his steak dish. And the birthday song part was fun. Flan was more like a custard, but very enjoyable. I probably wouldn't go back. Thank you to the staff and I hope the chef gets nicer.

Puertas has gone downhill. When they first open, they were great but not now. First of, we were the only people in the restaurant and the food took a while to come out. The calamari was not fresh. The burger was soo dry and so was the chicken sandwich. We left hungry. Horrible experience.
I personally dont see where all these “good” reviews are coming from. I came here today to celebrate my mothers birthday. The food was missing a lot of flavor and tasted unseasoned to me. It was just my party and another party present and yet the server, Elias barely gave us attention. We had to consistently get out our chair to walk to him directly to ask for stuff as he sat at the bar with his back turned to us. I then had to ask him for his name so we were able to shout it when we needed attention. Lastly, we asked for tres leches cake with no strawberries on top because my mother is allergic. The cake came out with strawberries. Again we had to get up and hunt him down in the back and let him know of the error. Let alone, the cake came out with a candle that appeared it was already used and prelit before today as there was about an inch candle left. The only positive thing i can say about this place is that the decor and aesthetic is pleasing and the drinks were strong and tasted good. Everything else, was subpar. The experience i had was not worth the price paid. I would not dine here again nor recommend to anyone.
Poor service. The waiter kept forgetting the food and drinks we ordered. Not attentive at all. The food was meh. My meal was salty, my daughter's salmon was dry. The tostones were tough with very little flavor. We left disappointed and felt it was a waste of money. There are much better options in Bay Ridge.
Horrible experience ever. Had to call multiple times to if there was going to be live music, which was a hassle (4/25) Every time I called, I was told to call back. I finally get an answer about live music and mad a reservation for 7 people for a birthday celebration. (4/28) The day of the event, the restaurant is pretty small and compact. My table was squished in the middle of two smaller tables of 4. They put a chair at the end of the table, in the middle of the walk way. If was Uncomfortable to sit and have dinner, let alone enjoy music. Before I even arrived, my guest asked if we could change the table because there wouldn’t be enough space and they was told no, that it was reserved. When I arrived, I asked if it was possible to change the table to the booth, which made much more sense I was told no again. They did try to offer a solution, but that required us to wait for another table to be finished, but it’s clear as day that they overbooked. I even asked ahead of time, where will my table be and I was answered that she was unsure because they don’t know how many reservations they’re gonna get…… There was no point for us to stay because the primary reason why we were there was to celebrate a birthday party and we was uncomfortable to even do that so we left. No manager or waiter showed concern. The only people who did show concern was the actual customer at the restaurant, asking us why we left. The workers look like they absolutely did not care, Just overall a horrible experience it all started with the phone call to make a reservation and find out information if there was going to be live music and then the actual service in the restaurant . I would not recommend this place to anyone! Especially if you are going to celebrate a special occasion. We did end up going to Zio Toto and they were friendly and the food was delicious and made a horrible experience much better!
Ate here tonight and not only was my salmon undercooked but a roach crawled out onto the seat near my jacket which completely ruined the experience further. We were going to order dessert but that completely put a nail in the coffin for me.
