super official. across the board great concept with all the nostalgic feels of a beachside getaway bite great for family or friends or a nice cheap date. love the selection of drinks and champagne is just a total flex. food was exceptional and prices literally can’t be beat. can’t wait to come back
We come here often for their BBQ burgers. Always delicious and always a good environment. Their milkshakes are extra thick and their Lemonade is the best.
First time there . Got the roast beef and cheese , cheese burger , fries with cheese and orangeade . All were amazing and fresh even at midnight .
Roller Roaster – A Brooklyn Classic That Still Hits Every Time I’ve been coming to Roller Roaster for over 30 years, and let me tell you—some things really do get better with time. Tucked along Emmons Avenue, this gem has been a staple in my life for decades, and last night’s dinner reminded me exactly why. My go-to? The roast beef sandwich, double dipped. The juiciness is unmatched—the kind of melt-in-your-mouth tender that only comes from years of doing it right. The gravy is savory and rich, coating the beef and roll in perfection. And oh, the rolls—sometimes they’re covered in sesame seeds, sometimes not as much, but that’s part of the charm. Every bite is a little surprise, and every time it’s delicious. I paired it with baked sweet potato, butter and brown sugar homemade fried potato chips with cheese, and that iconic fresh orange ade—real citrus, real flavor, no shortcuts. Me and my son drove half an hour just for these sandwiches, and not a single second was wasted. The vibe is nostalgic but timeless. Whether you grew up in Brooklyn or you’re discovering this spot for the first time, Roller Roaster delivers with flavor, consistency, and that feeling of something special. It’s more than a sandwich—it’s a tradition. Five stars, every time. Forever my favorite.
Roll N Roaster is known for their roast beef and cheez sandwiches. Order roast beef and cheez sandwich, with fries with cheez, corn fritters, and strawberry lemonades. If you spend more than $75, you get a free pizza. If it's your birthday, you get one free spin the wheel and possibly get up to $45 to use towards food. Great fast food spot for roast beef sandwiches!
Roll-N-Roaster is a Brooklyn legend, and for good reason. This spot has been serving up top-tier comfort food for years, and every bite proves why it’s a must-visit and a local favorite. Their roast beef with cheese sandwich is a true standout. The roast beef is tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor, piled high on a soft roll and topped with the perfect amount of melty cheese. Perfect anytime and anywhere. Then there’s the Roll-N-Western Cheezburger. Topped with crispy onion rings and smothered in Bullseye BBQ sauce, it’s smoky, sweet, and savory all in one bite. The balance of flavors and textures makes this burger a must-try. Their chicken wings are seasoned to perfection and come with a side of tangy buffalo hot sauce. The crispy exterior and juicy meat inside make for a seriously satisfying bite. Even without the sauce, these wings have all the flavor you need. The orangeade is another highlight freshly squeezed orange juice and zesty , bright, and full of citrusy goodness. It’s the perfect drink to wash down all that deliciousness. And their Coleslaw, creamy and crunchy, with the perfect balance of sweet and tangy, it’s the perfect side to complement the rich flavors of the meal. I also heard that their mozzarella sticks are amazing, though I wasn’t able to try them today—definitely on my list for next time! If they’re as good as everything else, I’m in for a real treat. Roll-N-Roaster is the kind of place that never lets you down. Whether you’re craving something hearty or just want to enjoy classic comfort food, this place always delivers. Can’t wait to go back!
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve last been here but it always hits the spot. We got the crispy wings, clam chowder, roast beef, fries and cheese, orangeade and apple pie milkshake. We ended up getting a free individual pizza since we ordered more than $40 worth of food. Everything was pretty good but I feel like the cheese/wings were really salty but I was able to wash it down with the refreshing orangeade. Would recommend coming here for quick eats!
This is a one-of-know a-kind restaurant that serves amazing roast beef sandwiches and corn fritters. A clean and inviting dining area inside that's bright and cheery, you should definitely give this place a try, especially with a friend along. If it's your birthday, let them know so you can spin the wheel 😉
I experienced Roll N Roaster for the first time several years ago after remembering the old 1980s TV commercial. They say they are not a fast food restaurant, but I didn't have a long wait time for my food to come out. The restaurant itself is clean, the staff is friendly, the food is tasty and these prices cannot be beat. No wonder this place has been around for over 50 years! I will be back the next time I am in the area.
A Classical Landmark and Hallmark of Brooklyn. Fast and efficient service, great food options! Been here many times over the years, and more to come! You can also get a free pizza after spending a certain amount. You can also come during your birthday and spin the wheel!
What more can i say about this simplistically classic perfection of a Brooklyn gem? I tried their new roll-n-smash cheezburger, which is now on my top list of favorite burgers ever. I write this review in hopes that other curious people see that the new item is worth the hype and that it becomes a permanent menu option. You can stray away from your usual order this one time in the quest to keep this alive. Long live the roll-n-smash, May the cheeseburger gods immortalize this beefy oniony morsel.
Still good after all these years. Roast beef was juicy and flavorful, the gravy went really well with it, and as much as I miss then old cottage fries the new fries are pretty good. I am aware of a supplier issue and hopefully the supplier will realize how much we love the old fries and supply them just for Roll-N-Roaster. Definitely coming back for more.
LET ME PUT YALL ON TO GAME! If you like fall and sweet potato pie, you need to try Roll N Roaster's baked sweet potatoes with cinnamon, sugar, and extra butter - it's on the menu, but everyone is sleeping on it! Then, pair it with their bread pudding and a scoop of vanilla ice cream... baby, it's the best combination dessert ever! Roll N Roaster dead needs to sponsor me. Plus, they're open till 2 am, and they're the most solid business in the bay. Their pizza is fire, the corn fritters are extra fire, and the cheese wiz is always a must!!!!
This place is a South Brooklyn staple. If you know you know. Best burgers, cheese fries and corn fritters. Old school vibe. Has parking lot and order pick up window. Gets packed so come early. Lemonade is delicious! They are known for their roast beef sandwitches.
Early July: Original fries are back, better than they were originally, as to size, cut, and baking uniformity. Update: we went back on September 8 and the original fries sucked. They were cut all sizes, cut too thin, crispy instead of meaty, and not fried uniformly, so I'm removing 2 stars. All our other selections were still good.
This is the first time I've been to this location and I have to say the food is incredible!!! I highly recommend the roast beef sandwich, the orangeade and the corn fritters ! The food is made in front of you and the staff was pleasant and greeted you upon walking in. There was plenty of seating and I will definitely take the trip out here again just for the food! 10/10
One of my favorite places to eat in Brooklyn. You can't go wrong here. They have a great menu with something for everybody. I usually go with the Roll n Roast Beef with a side of Mozzarella Sticks. The Roll n Roast Turkey, Pizza, Corn Fritters, Mashed Potatoes and Fries are some of my other go to favorites. It can be very busy at times but the line moves fast and it's all worth it in the end.
Not what it use to be the fries were burnt harder than rocks I complained to the manager and he was like that's how they are coming out I'm like I'm not making my family eat 3 orders of rock hard fries then to top it off I get the turkey sandwich there was minimal turkey in it dry as can be and we also ordered the roast beef with cheese and even with the cheese the roast beef was dry and they wanted to charge me for a honey mustard which they never did before.. smh they better shape up ..
This is a genuine 5 star place. One of my favorite people in the world brought me here and I was happy she did. We each ordered a sandwich and a side along with their authentic lemonade which was so good I had to try the orangeade right after. I ordered a roast beef and cheese roll which was packed and delicious and not dry. Had a side of mash which was on the ordinary side but their gravy was the truth. My friend got a smash burger with fried onion rings and she raves about it with sweet fries. Also was delish. The order came out fast which was awesome considering it was pretty full inside and finding parking was also easy on the premises.
This place is Awesome. The food is great! Everything is made in house and with real ingredients. The customer service is very friendly and helpful with any questions you may have about the menu. The Atmosphere is very nostalgic, like it's trapped in time. I visit this place anytime I'm in sheepshead bay Brooklyn.
This place was busy as hell, and it was fast, friendly, well maintained, bright, and extremely clean, like it just opened from day 1. Came from NJ to try this place out after all the hype, and damn it was well worth it. The prices looked to be extremely low, fair, and reasonable. Not a single complaint. I highly recommend this food establishment. Kudos 👏 to whoever owns and runs this joint. All I had was a Roaat Beef with cheese, onion rings, and cheese fries. Next time, I will definitely tray something different because it was that food. I ate inside and ate what was going home while driving home, so yeah, enjoy.
Surprisingly large resteraunt. I got the roast beef sandwhich with cheese, it was really good. Honestly the roast beef was so good that the cheese detracted if anything from it, I'll prob get it plain next time. The fries were decent. Nothing to complain or compliment, theyre just typical thick fries. Hard to say which is better between here and Brennan and Carr but I've enjoyed both and intend to return to both. Great food, a staple of the area.
I love this place. It's my favorite place to grab a quick meal before my long commute home. The staff are awesome, and the nostalgic old building is very clean and taken care of. The food is out of this world. The western burger has great flavor and quality. I prefer my roast beef with gravy and no cheese, but it's great any way you have it. The fries are small sliced thin coins. Crispy on the outside and some soft potato on the inside, perfect ratio. The corn fritters had tasty creamed corn on the inside. They were my favorite. And to wash it all down, the fresh orangeade is worth a try. Go try it with your friends! If you spend $40, you get a tasty little pizza for free.
I have been going here since the 80's and can honestly say, I never had a bad meal or a bad time here! The food is always good, the staff is hospitable and always has a warm welcome feeling to it. I've met friends here, had birthday celebrations, even brought clients here, and they loved it! In my life, Roll N Roaster is and always will be a Brooklyn landmark. 💖
Called them and asked if they’re halal. They said they are. They cook the bacon separately and use canola oil for the rest of the cooking, which is amazing. The staff is also knowledgeable regarding dietary restrictions, unlike many places that don’t even know what halal is.
1st time today going to this place, 1st off let me start by saying I travel with 2 service dogs as they where welcomed... okay on to the food. We ordered 2 roast beef sandwiches with extra broth no cheese, sweet potato fries, regular fries n onion rings, fries n onion rings are standard but the roastbeef sandwiches were off the hook from the 1st bite to the last bite, each bite was more delicious than the last bite, that we grabbed 2 roastbeef sandwiches to go.... Highly recommend this place... did I mention that the restrooms n the restaurant is super clean, service from food taker to the cleaning service was 👏 amazing 👏
Coming here for over 40 years. I love that it pretty much still looks the same when you walk in. I feel like a kid when I walk in - reminds me of my father taking me here when I was 10. Food is still good, and the Lemonade will never be better anywhere else.
I come from the other side of Brooklyn fir this place here and I don't mind at all. You can spin a wheel on your birthday to try and get some free stuff who doesn't like free?! Speaking of free you get a FREE 🫢.. ah if you know you know, if you don't go, find out lol. Nice environment, the food never disappoints and its worth the money.
Have been coming here since I lived in sheepshead bay 20 years ago. Delicious food and great milkshakes. Everything on the menu is amazing. The seafood options aren’t the best so don’t expect too much from a burger place. Highly recommended tho
🌟 Roll N Roaster: A Brooklyn Legend Delivers a Knockout Meal! 🌟 WOW. Just wow. If you haven't been to Roll N Roaster in NYC, you are seriously missing out on a piece of delicious, old-school heaven! I just had an absolute feast, and the entire experience was nothing short of electrifying! From the moment I walked up to the counter, I knew I was in for a treat. I ordered the legendary Roast Beef N Cheez, a side of Fries N Cheez, and a crisp, refreshing Orangeade. And get this—the speed was insane! The cashier barely had time to finish ringing me up before my entire order was ready. I'm not exaggerating when I say the food was ready in one minute! Talk about fast service! Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the roast beef sandwich. It was delicious! The beef was perfectly cooked, tender, and piled high on a fresh, soft roll, all smothered in their signature cheez. Every single bite was pure, savory bliss. It's easy to see why this place is an icon—the quality of that roast beef is just unmatched! The Fries N Cheez were the perfect cheesy, comforting complement, and the Orangeade was the ideal palate cleanser. The whole meal was a masterclass in classic American fast food done right. The best part? This incredible experience didn't break the bank! For two Roast Beef N Cheez, one Fries N Cheez, and one Orangeade, I spent around 30 dollars! That's an amazing value for such high-quality, iconic NYC eats!
This place is like you stepped back in time! It brings you back to a more simple time! Love the roast beef sandwich, with the brown gravy to dip in. The potato chip fries are on the money. The onion rings are delicious and crunchy. Enjoyed the crispy cracker crust pizza. And washed it down with the tasty beverage, orangeade! I hope this place is around forever!
Friggin love the roastaaaah. Been coming here since I was a wee child. Cheez on everything pleeeez. I was happy to share my experiences with my friends throughout the years who have never been there. They’ve always enjoyed and would always want to come back. It’s a great Brooklyn experience. What’s great about it is that it doesn’t make me poop immediately like some places! My body savors it. That’s a good thing. Taking the time doing everything just right, indeed!
Clean place inside from the dining room to the restroom. Orders are called out loud and clear on a P.A., 100% prepared quickly and are both hot and definitely fresh when received. Right on Emmons Ave with their own parking lot. N.Y. strip steak with the cheez on their rolls they make fresh, wow. Gonna come back for sure and try the roast beef next time.
Ever since living in Sheepshead Bay in the 80s and 90s, it's been one of my favorite spots. Now when I visit the old neighborhood I always stop in for a cheeseburger / roast beef, shrimp cup, and some onion rings right on the bay. I'll always miss Sheepshead Bay, and Roll N Roaster brings back great memories. I❤️Brooklyn
Been coming here for 2 decades and I’m finally posting a review. I hadn’t been here since pre Covid 2020 so I was pleased to see the prices weren’t much higher. I think maybe only $1 more per menu item which isn’t bad considering some places are 50%+ more. The size and quality has remained the same which is most important. I got a Cheez burger, sweet potato fries, corn fritters, carrot cake and orangeade for a total of $28 including tax. The menu says you can order the burger well done or medium, but I already knew what I wanted so I ordered without looking at the menu first and forgot to specify; I believe they cook it well done by default and the cashier didn’t ask me. So make sure you ask for medium if that’s what you prefer.
First time visitor - Very nice place, over 50 year history. things are moving very fast, there are fifteen people behind the counter, getting things ready. I got a smash burger with some fries and a drink. A number of people came in that had birthday, the head out spin, the birthday wheel with presents, either a discount or else. It created a fun atmosphere. They have their own parking, which is helpful, especially in this area. Enjoy!

Classic Brooklyn joint serving one of the best roast beef sandwiches in town! But I would have to say the western burger also packs a solid punch. You can’t go wrong with any of the items here honestly. But our go to’s are always the roast beef sandwich, western beef burger, crown fritters, chicken wings, and orangeade drink! You also have the option to put cheese on anything! If you have a young one, ask one of the cashiers for a free ballon. If happens to be your birthday, you get to spin the giant wheel for a chance to win $5-$20 prize for next time use. Also, if you spend more than $45 per order, you can get a free pizza. The inside dining area seems like it’s still stuck in the 1990s, but I’m fine with that!
What can I say, if you know, you know. This place has been around for as long as I can remember. Aside from the "fry fiasco" some of us might be privy to, they have always maintained their standard, in my opinion. There are some items they just do better and other items that will simply be on my list for the nostalgia. The price you spend for the free pizza has gone way up, but I never seem to have trouble meeting it. My only regret is that they didn't open up any other locations, but that's also what makes it so special. Will always take a ride for this. If you haven't, you need to.
The place i an icon. They make the best roast beef sandwich Plus, everything else is great. They keep the place the same way for years. And it's great. You still get a free pizza if you spend more than 40 bucks for 45 I dont know but its something. The French fries are still great. They did change the French fries. But changed to the original 👍🏻👍🏻
This place has been around a half a century and I been going there for 25+ years. Its usually crowded so be patient, but the hot roast beef sandwiches are awesome. Must get cheese on it! Love the cheese fries here too. If roast beef is not your thing they have great hot turkey sandwiches, burgers and chicken sandwiches too. I always get a cup of pickles and coleslaw too with a large lemonade. This place hits the spot!!
Roast beef restaurant in Sheepshead Bay that opened over 50 years ago. Regular fast food items available as well. Long counter with plenty of workers. Roast beef sandwich and apple pies are very good. Very large seating area with clean bathrooms. Free parking lot is usually very crowded and tight. Pay first, then wait for your number to be called. A bit higher than a fast food place on the evolutionary scale.
A bustling Brooklyn classic serving up fast, affordable comfort food. The roast beef with grilled onions and cheese was highly recommended. I got it, and although it wasn’t the most amazing sandwich I’ve ever had, I’d say it hit the spot and I see myself going back to have it again. I also had the cheese fries and corn fritters which were great, and the orangeade which was also something nice to try for a change. If you spend over a certain amount you get a free pizza pie. That’s not saying much because the pizza is definitely not anything to go crazy over, but it’s a nice gesture and if you have children, I think it’s the perfect pie for kids. Also, get the apple pie for dessert, and make sure it’s warm. Add ice cream if you dare. You won’t be sorry!
Roll N Roaster was a place I passed many times and wanted to visit. Finally it had happened. They have a great selection of simple but unbeatable options, mostly fried food and few salads. While we were waiting in the line with my friend it was hard to choose because we wanted to try many things. Fried sweet potato, fried onion rings, coleslaw, Roll-N-Western Cheezburger, Roll-N-Roast Beef N Cheez were picked for lunch. Be aware that for fried sweet potatoes you will get a huge portion. They were crunchy and cut in exact size that kept them not mash and not dry. Onion rings were crispy but little burnt. The burger bans had nice bready texture. Overall the food is good the only problem is total lack of seasoning. Everything is plain, heavy, fatty and hard to swallow. Burgers don’t have any vegetables or sauce. Fries have no salt or seasonings. Take more drinks
Cheeseburger with cooked onions was good. Bun was nice and fresh. Cheese fries are the best. Best cheese fries don't forget to order extra cheese on the side. The cheese is the best it tastes delicious. The corn fritters were ok. The restaurant is clean and is sanitized regularly which is amazing. Food is very good here. There is plenty of seats. There is parking. I would recommend this place
I went to Roll N Roaster on a Monday night. It was pretty busy. The atmosphere is very retro. The place was a bit run down in certain areas like the bathrooms. However, everything was very clean. The staff was friendly. Everything is made to order, so you will have to wait a while to pick up your food. I had the original roast beef sandwich, which was on their made from scratch rolls (made daily), and it was roasted in the meats juices minus the fat. It was so delicious and tender. Next time, I think I would get extra meat juices (gravy) because it was so good and onions. I also had their clam strips and onion rings. Both are very tasty as well. However, I was disappointed in the generic brand tarter sauce and ketchup for the sauces with those. I wish they would have been made from scratch, too. I ordered a Cola thinking it was a Coke . Although that turned out to be generic, too. Next time I go, I'll have to try their house made ice tea and maybe one of their house made milkshakes. They looked very tasty. The prices are amazing! Especially in this economy where inflation is king. If you're local to the area, I recommend downloading their app. because there seems to be some pretty sweet deals happening at the moment because it's the restaurants 53rd year in business. There is parking at the restaurant. However, you 'll need to read the signs because there is a time limit, and they will tow you. I hope you enjoy your meal and visit!
**Update, now 4/5 Second attempt with the roast beef was better, new pictures included. On my first visit the amount of roast beef for the price was absurd. Around $7 for a roast beef sandwich that had virtually no roast beef when compared to any quality deli, especially in N.Y. That having been said, the french fries were amazing and the gravy really enhanced the flavor of the bread.(I would say it enhanced the roast beef, but despite the offer of medium, mine came well done and again with barely any roast beef to enhance.) Staff was polite, friendly and fast. Since the menu offers 6oz of NY strip steak or a hamburger for about the same price, I was a bit shocked by how little roast beef was in the sandwich. The fries are enough that if I were in the area again, I would go back but try a different entree. Dessert options also looked appealing.
Hanging out with my Brooklyn Brother today, and we chose R N R for lunch. This establishment has not changed in decades! It's one of the reasons why I like it so much. So why the 4 stars? The free pizza...OOF! Well, it's free and that's where the happiness ends 🤣. Why? Roll N Roaster...why? 🥺 Let's get back back to the good stuff; I absolutely "like" (I "love" my family) their roast beef, with "cheez" n onions (some gravy dip on the side), and the bread is pretty decent (I think better than a certain competitor). Today I tried the steak sandwich, nice and tender. My brother had a burger for the first time, and said it it was pretty good. Cooked perfectly to his liking. We shared some sweet potato fries and corn fritters. Washed it all down with an ice cold Budweiser. And when your'e done, hit the wash-up station, your'e going to need it. Was worth the trip. Thank you R N R!
My favorite choice for fast food. I have dined in or ordered food to go for many years. The hamburgers, roast beef, fries with melted cheese and onion rings are always recommended. If you currently spend $45 you receive a free small pizza pie. Many seats available for dining in. Small free parking lot for customers.
This place is a throwback. It's clean and the service is good. It has a parking lot and has a decent amount of seating. I tried the roast beef with cheese and it was solid. I don't know if u need to trek back here though. I feel like this is the type of place you come back to over and over when you grow up eating their food.
The food here tastes very fresh, is really high quality, however I’m not sure I could justify the price. I ordered a cheese burger with fries and an orangeade. The orangeade was absolutely delicious, the cheeseburger was good as well, very good quality meat but the cheese was really liquidy and dripping out of the burger, it’s a preference thing but for me it was a little nauseating. The fries were probably the worst part considering they were pretty dry and lacked taste overall. For the $30 I paid I do not think it’s worth it. I will come back here if i’m in the area but i would not go out of my way to eat here
I've been going to the spot since I was a little girl and I got to say it used to be a lot better but the food is still good it's really depends on if the food is made fresh when you order it or if it's given to you from being sitting under the lamps. Sometimes when they leave them under the lamps like the mozzarella sticks and the sandwiches and the french fries they don't taste as good as if it was freshly made.
I didn’t feel like going to a restaurant today but didn’t exactly want fast food either. So this was the perfect choice for the area I was in around lunchtime. I was pretty hungry since I skipped breakfast & decided to get two roast beef sandwiches with cheese an order of golden corn fritters & a strawberry lemonade. All of which were tasty & satisfying. The restaurant was fairly clean & an employee was in the process of cleaning during my visit. The wait for my meal after placing the order wasn’t very long. It looked like they had some birthday giveaway thing where you spun a wheel for a prize. If you go with a few friends & spend over $45 you get a free mini thin crust pizza. They also serve beer, wine & champagne believe it or not. I guess for those birthday celebrations. As well as few desserts. They’ve been in business for 55 years & are well known for their roast beef sandwiches & lemonade.
Let me start by saying I don't eat roast beef. This is what their famous for, so I didn't have this specialty. I was there for a meeting. My partners had roast beef. I decided to go "safe" and get the waffle fries with cheese and chicken fingers. I paid for everyone's meal so there was also a free pizza. The pizza is pretty much a small size, But what's the other food it was enough. The chicken fingers are a smaller size and mine were hard fried. Not the soft kind of bite. I opted for barbecue sauce which was actually a name brand sauce which is pretty nice to see. The fries and the cheese sauce were disappointing. The sauce was very salty in the fries weren't that great. They will thin and kind of soft. The chicken also was salty on the outside. They were okay The pizza would be a great hit I believe for children. Especially it under $5 a pie they're a great budget option if you have children around. As for adults, Nah. A very thin crust with goopy cheese. Now for the aesthetics. Awesome. As soon as you walk in it takes you back into time. Looks very old like something from the '50s. And this isn't in a bad way. This is actually really cool. I like the sign that looks old school and even the decor looks like it hasn't been refreshed a lot. There's definitely ample seating but I know it gets really busy. People are pretty much in and out though. We stayed about an hour and no one bothered us to leave. Now to be fair, my friend had the roast beef and he said it was really good in fact he's the one who recommended this place. He got roast beef with a side of gravy. He pretty much finished two sandwiches. There was like three bites he couldn't finish. My other partner didn't talk a lot while eating which means he was really enjoying it. Another great feature this place has over a lot of other fast food restaurants is the fact that they cook to order. With that I order took a little bit longer than you would at a McDonald's or a chain of that nature. However it was well worth the wait because you know they were cooking it fresh and right on point. My friend told me I couldn't come here without getting orange aid. It was really good. It was a mix of fresh orange and fresh lemon. Like a orange lemonade. But it was really tasty. I appreciate the fact that you can taste real ingredients in that orange aid unlike when you go to fast food restaurants for everything tastes artificial. And last which probably should have been first is the price. I don't know how they keep the prices so low, but they are really fair for modern times and especially this economy. This is a really cool spot and a Brooklyn gem. I really hope they are able to maintain and survive another 54 years

Truth be said I grew up on that stuff, but my last visit wasn’t as as good as it should be the portions are smaller and the taste is not just they’re not like before, but it’s still very decent for a fast food joint. Give it a try you might like it.
I feel like the quality of this place was way better before it got “exposed” to the internet. Prices are still cheap, but if you’re coming here because you saw someone say that this place has the best classic burgers and roast beef sandwiches, you’ll be disappointed.
What happen to the Roast Beef . Never had this problem before i had almost no Roast beef on the roll. Still really good but def not the same. $8 for a slice or maybe 2 of roast beef . Something is not right here….. Also one tiny cup of cheese is not enough for 1 order of fries…… never was
The food was okay. If you spend $45+, you get a free small pizza. The pizza is okay. I have had better around NY, but it still beats CT's "apizza." The sandwiches, I think, were overrated. We asked for medium rare on our roast beef and the NY strip, and they were clearly well done. I was also surprised that the NY strip was on a burger... we ordered online and had no idea it would be a plan steak on a bun with nothing else. The OG fries were okay, they could have been a little more crispy, in my opinion. The onion rings were really good. Cheese sticks were alright. I'm disappointed I brought in a card that needed to be swiped, the kid behind the counter didn't know how to use it becuase it didn't have tap, I told him to swipe it like old fashioned and he froze up, I saw the machine and I explained how to use it and I think I broke him? He said the machine only knows tap, I said what about the gift cards? Some don't tap he still looked confused and I had to pay a different way, but that was so sad! Someone should teach him how to swipe a card to pay instead of tapping every card.

I ‘ve benn here countless times staring as a child 50years ago! I started coming again bc my mom is living near by. Id say food quality has gine down. First, they changed the fries and theyvare awf…
The atmosphere and service was amazing, the looked and felt wonderful...but the food, the meat, was genuinely the worst i have had. I ordered a roast beef and cheese, and it was limp and flavorless, the cheese felt artificial, and the bread was torn and soggy. It completely broke apart after the first bite, so I had to eat the sandwich with a fork. The pizza and fries were also of similar quality, and its a shame that such a beautiful place has such horrible food
Well, I have so many fond memories of of this place. Except they've become curmudgeonly with their rules and sayings. They seem to be intent on being snotty every chance they get. I got a cheese burger, half the pump of cheese missed my burger. I asked them to put a little more on it (aka fix it) and I was told no because they only put one pump on. They have snotty signs about parking between the lines (DUH), snotty signs that claim once you've taken the food off the counter they cant take it back- which h just seems overboard if someone is taking a whole order to the table only find something wrong. There's snotty signs about stale bread. Essentially they have started to become the old man yelling at the kids to get off his lawn. Which is sad from the place featuring the whimsy of cheez on everything you pleez. I'm not going to lie, the food is still on point, but no one wants to hang with a snotty curmudgeon in their free time. I've included photos of the signs.
Not sure why people like this place. We got the fried chicken n roll, the turkey on a roll and a strawberry shake. The chicken was filled with gristle and lacked any real flavor. The turkey tasted slightly fishy and lacked the cranberry sauce. The only thing that was good was the shake.
Twenty years of patronage ruined by a terrible manager. I've loved going here since I was a little kid. Every birthday, for friends gatherings- I will say the roast beef is pretty delicious. Went over for a friends birthday lunch yesterday and along with our meal spent nearly ten dollars on basic chicken tenders for my son which we had gotten plenty of times before. When he wouldnt eat I tasted them and nearly choked on the amount of salt. This wasn't normal for them- something had gone wrong with the batch. It tasted like you were eating salt by the spoonful. I apologized up at the front and asked an employee to check their tenders in the kitchen, and if possible switch out the nearly untouched tenders for anything cheaper since the food we paid for was literally inedible. She said she would need to bring over the manager which was fair, and I told him the same. Instead of even pretending to check or care about the food making its way to other customers, the manager was rude, dismissive, and laughed in my face while he told me that they dont make their own tenders in house- so my issue would be with their supplier if I didn't like them. The only care he took was speaking down to me as if I were a small spoiled child, even though I brought up my concerns politely and with regard to the establishment. What could have been solved easily with a "Sorry we can't replace or refund, but we'll check our food coming out" Turned into an unpleasantly memorable experience that overshadowed the usual quality of their food. Tldr: While the quality of their food is usually good, buyer beware. When things go wrong, they don't care about their food or your concerns. And if you get mistakenly served literal garbage its basically "you paid for it, now eat it, or shut up and get out" Maybe I would've gotten better treatment if I had caused a scene, but I'd rather just pack up and go somewhere that doesn't scam and mock its customers.
The food is purely inconsistent sometimes you get good quality food some days you get soggy and undercooked items. Don’t get me wrong this an amazing iconic place but it’s sad the people working there aren’t even passionate about the food they make which shows in how it’s prepared. I think I’m better off going in person than ordering online. The fries were undercooked and soft while the cheeseburger had the cheese dripping into the box instead on staying onto the burger. You also have to pay extra for bbq sauce since they don’t even give it to you in your order you always have to ask for extra in person because they only give you one or two for a whole order of chicken tenders. I think the quality of the food went down.

Horrible service. Food was not very good. Left food on table. Don't go if your in a rush. Half the time you could not hear the waiter. Seems they had poop in their mouths. Horrible
Having been a patron for several years, I've observed a decline in the quality of the food. Specifically, the burger now resembles a generic frozen patty, while the roast beef sandwich lacks flavor and has a tough texture. The corn fritters and coleslaw were also underwhelming. Although the cheese fries remain satisfactory, the overall experience no longer meets my expectations. Consequently, I will be redirecting my patronage to Arby's, where the food quality is currently superior.
We decided to stop here for a late night bite after seeing Applebee’s was closed. That was quite the mistake, the service was so bad, and the food was even worse. I asked to have the bread toast. The guy at the register told me they cannot do that which is insane. I ordered the New York strip Roll That was a really bad idea. I couldn’t even chew the steak. There’s no lettuce, tomato and mayo, just steak and bread. They don’t use any lettuce, tomato or mayo on any of their burgers They stated .. they are really stuck in the past, I feel as if we were also being treated a certain way compared to others. We ordered mozzarella sticks and fries as well. That’s the only thing that was OK. Everything taste fried in the same grease. My husband had a cheeseburger that reminded me of school lunch but unfortunately the school lunch would be better over this. We ordered two lemonades and the first one was OK. The second one tasted like they didn’t clean the machine correctly. I will never come back here again. This doesn’t even deserve a zero. This is a -0. The guy at the register asked if we wanted to dine in, and we said yeah but they packed our food to go as if they didn’t want me and my partner who has a nice brown skin to dine there .
I wish I can give zero stars. First time visiting this place and the customer service was horrible. Cons - Team Crew Members didn’t ensure we had napkins, utensils, or condiments. It was not on the table. - The roast beef was half cooked. Blood was on the sandwich bun. ( I got the Roast Beef & Cheese Sandwich). - Pizza was cheaply made and extremely hard around the edges . Wasn’t able to eat it. - Ice Tea ( Beverage ) was extremely bitter ! No sugar or anything. Pros - French Fries was really good ! - Spacious ( enough space) to eat.
Was a regular customer back in the day when I lived in Sheepshead Bay, so I thought we would stop by for lunch on the way home and I was very disappointed with the rude attitude and lack of courtesy of one of the employees. When my wife asked to be refunded for the tartar sauce we paid extra for because didn't get the fish sandwich I definitely ordered, the snotty kid said she was lying to him, that he remembered that order and she got the sandwich. I immediately went into the trash and got the receipt and asked him to show me where it says we received the sandwich? He just said " enjoy, have a nice day " as he stepped away from the counter. My wife didn't tell what he said to her until a friend asked her what he said to her. Things would have gotten ugly had she told me that while we were at the restaurant. If I ever go there again, he had better not be there! No one is going to disrespect my wife and call her a liar without me reacting to it. Plain and simple
I used to go here for decades when I lived nearby and the food was amazing. Since I moved I haven't been here in years. I went yesterday and I bought (2) roast beef sandwiches. They were awful. They were "chewy" and felt undercooked. I told the counter person and all they said was "I will tell them." They didn't even offer me new sandwiches and I paid almost $50. I won't be coming back anymore.
It was my husband's 75th birthday. He was really looking forward to spinning the wheel. We love Roll n Roaster, but are extremely disappointed in the service. The girl "spun" the wheel, and it barely made a quarter turn. When he asked if he could spin it again as it wasn't fair, the girl got another person to help. Except he didn't. He said if he did that "Everyone would ask". How ridiculous. So he said No. Come back tomorrow if you want to speak with the manager, and do what you want... They were rude. Even the man in back of him on line saw it was wrong and said something. They also had no fish, so he didn't get to take a sandwich back with him. I think that's a pretty lousy way to treat someone on their birthday. If the girl isn't capable or doesn't care, get someone who has more of an interest in their job. This whole Incident was extremely unfair, and put a damper on what was supposed to be a special day at his favorite place to eat. He worked there too, as a teen. Lousy treatment by staff. PS To Owner: Thank you Owner for not only implying, but flat out stating that if it landed on $25 he wouldn't complain. That wasn't the point, and very insulting of you to imply that it was so. Maybe have someone with a bit more strength spin the wheel if she's not capable of giving it a good spin. Good day to you.
HONESTLY HORRIBLE!! Worst Meal Ever ! Burned Over Cooked Measly scrawny Burger with mostly bread. Dry no toppings. The girl that worked there was the only nice person working there. Don't go . Overly priced! 10 for Bread basically. I can make a better burger at home
Clearly not open till what it says on google maps. No signs on doors or anything. Went in 12/26/2025 @ 1115pm-ish and walked right in and guy behind the counter say how did you get in? Isn't the doors locked? I mean if im in, its not locked. They were cleaning up so definitely not the 2:00am closing time. No gripe against them being closed but atleast have signs out stating accurate times of business operations. Burger king it is for the night. 🤷🏻♂️
