This little place is a true blessing. After a very long day of travelling in from Philly and doing activities around crazy times sq, finally a welcoming face and a quiet place to eat! Being an anxious traveler, I was grateful. I ordered chicken shawarma hotteok at the suggestion of the kind gentleman who helped us, and it was absolutely delicious and unlike anything I've had. (Aforementioned fellow was also very helpful and patient towards a woman with diet restrictions). It's fun to shop for snacks, drinks, and ingredients while things get made - but the service was very quick, so it's not much of a "wait". They have an open kitchen that looks refreshingly clean and orderly. We sampled the home-brewed cardamom tea and kimchi soup, and if we had room we would've ordered both. Thanks SYKO! I've picked up a quick lunch and also end of day 'too good to go' meals several times over the past 6-9 months and the service is always friendly and the food fresh and delicious and always reasonably priced. I love to get 5 mini pies, assorted fillings and toppings and if you're throwing a little party or gathering, you can't go wrong with a dozen of these, warmed and cut into 3-4 pieces, it's the nicest easiest appetizer ever.

The birria taco melts in your mouth. The combination of the pico de gallo, spicy green sauce and the acidity from the tangy green lime is like an orgasm in your mouth. The shrimp tacos comes with 2 jumbo shrimps packed with pico and crema. It was excellent. I do wish to see a fish taco option on the menu. Why are you still reading? Go order! Don’t forget to grab yourself a jarrito soda!

Fresh ingredients, 2 jumbo shrimps per taco, I rather this then those tiny frozen shrimps with no texture. Burris did not come with a dipping sauce, but they were juicy enough. I like how they grilled the tortillas as well so they are hot and a bit crispy at the same time. Wish they would have fish tacos too. Also they let you bring beer from the deli store to pair with tacos, that’s a big plus for me too.

Very delicious Mexican spot in Park Slope ! I had the best shrimp and birria tacos. I and my wife shared the homemade guacamole which was very fresh and tasty . simple and fresh! not the most flavorful tacos i’ve ever had, but on the flip side i really appreciated the lower salt content and lack of grease. this is a great homestyle option you could eat regularly and still enjoy every time as much as the last. my one critique is that the beef definitely needed the lime and sauce to make up for being on the drier side. i’ll be coming back!

I enjoyed every single bite of tacos! The taco shells didn’t taste strongly of corn thus you can relish the fresh ingredients. The green “signature” sauce is something special which particularly accompanies birria taco. Best tacos in town.. Highly recommended!

there is just something so fresh about the food here. literally no sauce is needed- the rice, the shrimp, even the taco shell is incredibly tasty. rice is soft but not overcooked- the shrimp is perfectly cooked, large and dare I say, fresh, again, but it’s true. If you order the shrimp burrito, eat one half without the sauce and then finish the other half with their green sauce which is spicy and garlicky (not crazy hot - but crazy addictive!) underrated spot, that I am grateful for. the burrito should be eaten indoors with the curtains drawn so you can truly relish this gigantic roll of deliciousness, alone, with a fork to pick up what falls on the plate. yum.

Stopped by this place on a whim and thoroughly enjoyed it. The establishment is small but efficient. Even though I stopped by a couple of hours before closing time, the whole restaurant was spotless. I ordered a shrimp burrito which was prepared fresh while I waited. The food was tasty and very filling. The prices are very average for the area, and totally worth it for the amount of food being served and taste. I will definitely be visiting TacoOmar again in the future.

Delicious Mexican food, especially the tacos. I went there for lunch, and was overwhelmed with how good the tacos were. I got chicken, shrimp, and veggie. Such satisfying flavor! Unusually for a Mexican restaurant, they use white rice, which they explained was to not complete with the other ingredients. Well, it works! It's brightly and warmly lit inside, and feels very clean. There's a little counter for eating on premises, but like most restaurants in New York these days, it seems focused on take out. No customer bathroom, which is too bad.

Really dope place! Super friendly owners helped walk me through the menu because admittedly, I was overwhelmed by the options. I don’t live near here and the vast menu made me to go a tiny bit overboard. I started with the kimchi soup, superb! I got the 3 baked goods for $9.99: sfiha, za’atar, muhammara. All great and reheated well. Probably the only thing I didn’t love was the fatboy sandwich. It’s held together by a Korean pancake that was charred in some parts and undercooked in other parts. If you just want something to stuff your belly, this is for you. I also wish it was wrapped with foil only; the paper wrapping was impossible to peel off. Leftovers were better because I was able to deconstruct it and cook the pancake more. Now my absolute favorite item was from the fusion menu. The beef shawarma hotteok was chef’s kiss! Holy hell, I can’t stop thinking about each crispy and flavor packed bite. I will definitely be back for this! Such a beautiful marriage of cuisines.

Interesting take on a fusion of both Syrian and Korean culture. The flavors of both blend well with each other and the menu design is rather thoughtful. I've gotten the falafel pizza and the flavors are so fresh and herbaceous the portion was rather large too so it was price appropriate. The vegetarian Hotteck Japchae is so flavorful as well, easily one of my favorite on the menu now.

The food looked and smelled so good we forgot to take a picture before diving in. Their fusion menu is fantastic. We recommend the Box Sampler. Note that this is definitely a take out place. While they have some seating, it is limited and we didn’t see a restroom available for customers either. That said, you must try SYKO! Very delicious and unique.

Korean-Syrian food? Never heard of it and had to try it! Note this is more of a takeout place rather than sitting and dining - there is only one 3 person table inside and outside only 3 bar chairs. Like most, when I first saw the prices I was a little shocked. Two fat boys sandwiches paid in cash was $40! But once I got the food - oh boy they are LARGE portions. One fat boy can easily feed two people - so if you're trying to save money just buy one and split it between the two of you. I am also sure their pizza and combo plates could easily feed two as well. As a vegetarian, I appreciated all the vegetarian options. I got the tofu kimchi fat boy which consisted of outside being a thick scallion pancake and filling inside being fried tofu coated in cornstarch batter, kimchi, yellow pickled radish, lettuce and rice. It was extremely flavorful! And I loved the sauces that went along with it - if you love a little spice get the habanero sauce on the side (it's not just spicy it has almost a creamy element that I enjoyed greatly). It also came with gochujang sweet sauce and a more almost Chinese based chili oil sauce. I do wish the scallion pancake was more flaky (it's a little thick for my taste) but dipped in sauce was quite yummy. My husband got the beef bulgogi fat boy and loved it. You do save about 12-13 cents per item if you pay in cash, but they do accept card. Parking metered all around.

We had takeout. The chicken bowl and carne burrito. Both very good. Good portion of food. Very fresh tasting. I didn’t eat the burrito shell so can’t comment on that. We thought this was better than chipotle. The meat was not smothered in any juice so it is less salty tasting. Which is good by us. Definitely worth a try. Packaged well. If you found this helpful follow me. I don’t give many 5* because I reserve that for the very best in food service and experience. I try to be quick to the most important stuff, the food. “Shocking” I walked into this place a bit skeptical from the looks of a Saturday lunch rush, but seeing the place empty without any people inside, on such a busy time like this. The moment I walked in they stared at me like I had been the first person to walk in all day, and I wasn’t even sure it was open or not. I talked to the owner as he was running the register and they offer a simple square system for payment. They have no menu posted on the shop at all, they only have these simple paper to-go menus on the table. They have 1 nice bar across the hall and it has about 8 seats filled with hot sauces and seasonings. I got my taco which was a single birria taco to see if they where good, this place is pricy. And that come from me, a person who works on Wall Street himself who pays for lunch in the highest cost area. Per person you are paying on average $16-$19. I took my taco outside and took a bite and SHOCKED I COULDN’T BELIVE IT. PRESENTATION WAS AMAZING, CLEAN ORGANIZED TACO WITH NO MESS. Little sauce cup, radish and lime. And to be honest the meat was probably THE BEST IN NYC SO FAR. I couldn’t believe how yummy it was, and how clean and nice it was set. I would come back only for the tacos, as the other items are higher priced. And I live in Park Slope. But I would complete recommend the three taco combo they have for $14, it’s not cheap but I can tell that they don’t slap their food together, they take the time to make it look very pleasing. If I could change anything, establish a menu inside, even in chalk on the wall just to have something there. A more warming and welcoming greeting when a customer enters the establishment, and finally knocking a dollar off the items wouldn’t been bad. Again if a customer comes twice a week because he sees $12.99, but then only once a week because he sees the number $14.00. The business would make more in the long run. But to wrap it up, I would come back for those tree taco combo 4/5 stars

Food was okay. I think it’s cool to try but the flavors weren’t the best for me. The shawarma pizza had beef and strong spices and wasn’t something I’d get again. The falafel kind of reminded me of bean sprouts. My fav was the chicken shawarma wrap. Pretty pricey

The food is so delicious here. Fantastic all the way but now they are just too expensive. A wrap with fries and a soda is now $30.00 on Seamless. That is just not sustainable.
