Tip: Try the spicy Tonkotsu ramen and Karaage. The medium spice level provides a good kick without being overwhelming. Also, consider adding egg and bamboo for extra flavor.

Great warm service and food. Love the ramen as well as the rice bowl. Had the bang baby shrimp to start- super delicious. Hits the spot. A true neighborhood favorite.
Great looking little restaurant in park slope. Food is delicious. Ramen and appetizers are top notch, and this not al something easily found around here. , Drinks are great including some japanese imported beers as well as soft drinks and teas. The staff is incredible and the servers are attentive and especially accommodating with children.
One of the best ramen i found in NYC. I liked the Sukiyaki ramen. The gyoza is also amazing! Will definitely come back again.
I loved this place! It was my first time, and the ramen was absolutely delicious. The service was incredible, and the atmosphere was very cozy.
The food was very good and service as well! Waiters were kind and patient even though I took forever to choose my dish. Inside is very clean feeling and great location. Dish was medium spice level and true to that description.
Came here with my daughter and enjoyed the Tonkotsu black Ramen. I don’t remember which Ramen she had but I know that she really enjoyed it. We also ordered the edamame for an appetizer, which was good.
Flavorful ramen with phenomenal service. Had the sukiyaki ramen and a brown sugar bubble tea. Would recommend!
Great ramen spot! Went on a Friday evening and was able to get a table for three with a short wait. Not a huge vegetarian/vegan selection, but clearly labeled.
Delicious high quality ramen. The kids meal is an incredible deal, a ramen meal and a chicken nuggets meal in 1. Good atmosphere and helpful staff.
This is my favorite Ramen shop for many reasons! The staff are amazing, the food is incredible! I’ll recommend everytime!
I have been eating ramen ever since I was a kid in NYC and I have even been to Japan, but I can safely say that this is definitely one of the better ramen spots in NYC! First of all, the interior is really cute and the service is really amazing, I was immediately given iced cold water and hot tea once I sat down. The bathroom was also very clean and well kept. I got the Toyo Tonkotsu Ramen and I really appreciate how it came with two half-eggs (when most ramen places in NYC only give you one half of an egg). The egg was perfectly cooked and jammy. The broth was the star of the show - it was perfectly garlicky and oniony and also the right amount of spice. (you can adjust the spice level to your liking - just ask the server). The pork belly could have been better though - I wish it was more fatty - the pork was pretty lean. Overall, I would definitely come again. I highly recommend.
The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable experience. Our food was delicious! I was excited to have vegetarian ramen options. I would highly recommend!
Toyo Ramen Bar is amazing - the broth is rich, the noodles have a great chew, and everything tastes fresh. The staff was really sweet and the service was quick. Highly recommend if you're craving good ramen!
Been here multiple times! The broth is so flavorful and the staff is great. Never a long wait the times I went and the flavor has been consistent. Would recommend and will keep coming back!
Stopped in on a cold day. Staff is extremely kind and attentive. Ramen was delicious too. Rich broth and springy noodles. Plenty of toppings and choice of thick or thin noodles as well. The coconut jelly dessert was wonderful-light and not too sweet. Taro Boba (Miss Me) was great! Highly recommend!
Had an amazing meal at Toyo Ramen Bar! The tonkotsu black ramen was rich, flavorful, and had the perfect balance of creamy broth and garlicky depth. Every bite was pure comfort. The appetizers were just as fantastic—gyoza with a crispy sear and juicy filling, shrimp tempura tossed in a spicy mayo that had just the right kick, and takoyaki that were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft inside. Service was friendly and fast, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Definitely a must-visit for ramen lovers!
Amazing service, amazing food. They offer a 20% discount (2:30pm - 4:30pm). The Toyo Tonkotsu Black was perfect, and the takoyaki, wow. I will definitely come back when I visit Brooklyn again! Hao was was the best!! As architects, we think the design and atmosphere of the place was very well achieved. 5/5.
Really yummy! I got the veggie ramen with tofu & bok choy. The broth had a lot of flavor. My partner got a spicy brooklyn ramen & we shared the fried chicken app. Highly rec everything we got. Service was friendly and they even comp’d my drink that was late to come out (mojito, delish!). We will definitely be coming by again to try the other items on the menu because so many of them look good!
What a delightful experience. Food was scrumptious and I loved the customizable spice levels…yum! Cute atmosphere and pleasant staff. I will be returning…watch out Toyo Ramen because you have yourself a new fan🍜
Food was so good! Service was so fast would definitely recommend. The ramen was a very big portion.
Toyo Ramen Bar is an absolute gem! The chicken broth ramen was great: rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced without being too heavy. The ambience was warm, inviting, and thoughtfully designed to make you want to stay and enjoy. Overall great experience and kid friendly
The food was fresh and served in a timely manner. I highly recommend their karaage chicken. I wasn’t a fan of the ramen bowl, but I was experimenting with new flavors. I also tired boba for the first time. It was weird and fun to try. The place was clean and pleasant, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Our servers were fantastic, I didn’t get his name but a young server made sure that we were okay with the wait and was very attentive to our needs. The food was delicious and the drinks were fantastic. Everything came out quickly. Our waters were always being refilled. The place gets pretty loud but that’s no fault of the restaurant.
First of all , the place has amazing decor which really satisfied me and my wife. We got the salad and the ramen, both got completely full. Ramen really surprised me with the flavor , same goes for the salad. Anybody who loves ramen , I could suggest it to. Thank you guys , it was a wonderful lunch.
So excited that this spot opened! My partner and I are vegetarian so we both got the vegan creamy ramen. I asked if I could omit the onions from mine and they not only said it was possible (win!) but asked if I wanted to sub something else in (double win!) The ramen was delicious - the noodles, egg, toppings, and broth all hit the spot. We also got the impossible bun and the Brussels sprouts. The Brussels were great - perfectly tempura’d! We did scarf them down before remembering to photograph them though 🥲 Service was super quick and helpful. Ambiance is chic and polished. Would definitely return 🥳 fingers crossed for another veg ramen option for us to try next time!
This place was everything I wanted. Staff was so friendly, food was quick, fresh and absolutely delicious. We ordered bang bang shrimp, gyoza, mango bubble tea, the kids ramen and the Toyo tonkotsu black ramen. I would definitely come again.
Toyo ramen was open on blizzard day. Had some chashu and rice before sledding the prospect park hills. Thanks for being open. And also delicious. 😋 The Kyoto green tea w boba. Less sweet. Yumm thank you 😊
I really enjoyed our ramen meal! Went as a group of five (3 adults, 2 kids, including one vegan) and everyone was happy. The toyo black garlic one was amazing and the vegan one was awesome as well. “Probably the best ramen I ever had!” - quoth the vegan. I would definitely come back here when I’m in park slope.
Toyo Ramen is pure comfort in a bowl—especially their Harlem Ramen. I always order it medium spicy with an added egg, and it hits every time. The broth is rich, deep, and perfectly balanced, with just enough heat to warm you from the inside out without overpowering the flavor. The noodles are tender yet satisfying, the toppings feel intentional, and that soft egg ties everything together beautifully. It’s the kind of meal that makes you slow down for a moment and just enjoy being present. This ramen is heart-warming in every sense, especially during the colder season. If you’re looking for something comforting, soulful, and consistently delicious, Toyo Ramen is absolutely worth it.
Ordered takeout and—miracle of miracles—it arrived hot! I had the chicken wonton ramen, and it was honestly amazing. This was my first time trying Tokyo Ramen Bar, and it definitely won’t be my last—I’m already planning a dine-in visit. I’m recovering from the flu, and this soup was exactly what I needed; comforting, flavorful, and basically a bowl of encouragement. Thank you!
A 5 Star all around Ramen Experience. This is the type of place a kid, a family, and adult, of all kinds can walk in and feel accepted. Some Ramen establishments may be a turn off to some if it is very Ritzy and uninviting. This restaurant however, blends very nicely on the corner of 10th street and 7 ave and has an inviting feel from the outside. Once inside, you are met with very friendly service from great people, and an ASTOUNDING bowl of Ramen to follow. It was my first visit here and I will certainly be back, its been bookmarked into my Google maps NYC food spots, and that means... ILL BE BACK SOON ❤️ THANK YOU TOYO RAMEN BAR!
I stumbled upon this ramen spot by chance, and I’m so glad I did. From the moment I walked in, the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made me feel right at home. But the real star here is the ramen rich, flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and toppings that strike the right balance of freshness and indulgence. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen, and it was phenomenal creamy, savory, and deeply satisfying. The chashu pork melted in my mouth, and the soft-boiled egg was cooked to perfection. You can tell they take pride in their craft. Whether you're a ramen connoisseur or just craving a comforting bowl, this place is well worth the visit. I’ll definitely be coming back!
We went for lunch. It is a big space and great for families with smaller children as well if that is a consideration. The sapporos (at this time) are $5 so perfect with a bowl of hot pipping ramen!
I loved it here, the food was amazing, and the prices were reasonable. As for service I think it’s really nice, if your staying to eat they get you water and give you a menu, they let you eat till your ready to pay. The atmosphere is gorgeous, I love how modern and clean it is.
Love this place!! Food was quick and absolutely delicious (5-7 minutes), portions are generous and the atmosphere is serene. Thank you Toyo Ramen!!!🍜🐟
My sister and I came in over the weekend for some lunch. We had the Brooklyn Tonkotsu Spicy Ramen, Mojito and Gyoza. The staff was attentive to us as soon as we stepped in and the food came out quickly. The food was delicious and comforting for this cold weather in NYC. I can see why this place has such a great reviews, I recommend and will return in the future.
This place is a new gem we found for our special family dinners. My teenage daughter is a self proclaimed Ramen snob. Her go to dish is Toyo Tonkotsu Black Ramen. She loves its deep flavored broth. She says that the pork chashu piece on top of the Ramen is a perfection. If you are a fan of Shrimp dishes, you MUST try “ Bang Bang Shrimp”. It’s one of the best seafood dishes you will ever taste. Huge pieces too!! They provide excellent, quick and warm service. The restaurant is clean and has simple deco. This place is a must try if you are in Park slope part of Brooklyn. It is conveniently located, not too far from F train, 7th Ave. stop.
We don’t generally go out for ramen but were curious as to why the place was always so filled with people every time we passed by. Finally tried it a few nights ago and were pleasantly impressed. The ramen was very delicious especially on such a cold night. Tried the Takoyaki for the first time and really enjoyed them as well!
I stopped by and had a really pleasant visit. My father ordered the Toyo Tonkotsu Black Ramen and really enjoyed it—the broth was flavorful, and although the chashu pork was a bit on the fatty side, it was still delicious. I had the Sukiyaki Ramen (mild spicy), and it was perfect. The beef was sweet, tender, and cooked beautifully. I added bok choy—my favorite add-on for ramen—and it made the bowl even better. We also grabbed the pork gyoza and bang bang shrimp to go. Overall, the service was nice, the atmosphere was quiet, and if I’m in the area again, I’d happily come back.
I am typical hesitant to enter a new estistiment but upon seeing the atmosphere, I feel comfortable enough to give it a try. First impression of the service is excellent, servers are very attentive and patience. I ordered Tonkatsu Black Oil, and its broth is light but it smells very good, and I enjoy it very much. My partner and kids order two other ramen, which also came out great. Also ordered the fried chicken, which comes out perfect as well. The Thai Ice Tea is surprisingly good, it is a little thicker than typical Thai Ice Tea, which is refreshing. The Boba has a good texture as well. If I have to give any recommendations, it would be giving an options of ramen firmness in the ordering process. Therefore, the customers can choose what texture they prefer. Overall a great experience.
Our time at Toyo Ramen was fabulous all the way around!!! We arrived on a bitterly cold night and we were welcomed with warm vibes. All our ramens were so tasty, served quickly, and just the right amount. I can’t wait to come back.
I had such a great meal here! They were very accommodating for my small dog. I shared a Toyo tonkotsu ramen bowl and the bao buns with my friend and it was the perfect portion! It’s a nice atmosphere and the ramen was perfect after the winter storm. We will definitely come back again!
Called ahead for a table for two, though walk-ins are also welcome. The host was incredibly inviting, and we truly enjoyed the experience. The presentation was excellent, and the food was delicious. We initially came because they offer gluten-free alternatives—which was perfect.
Toyo serves such delicious food! We ordered appetizers: edamame (well-salted), and the fried chicken. It was the best fried chicken ever! For the main, the miso ramen was exceptional. My boyfriend and I will definitely return!
Our favorite Ramen spot in this area closed so we decided to try this place and so glad we did. We had sake, bang bang shrimp, edamame, he ordered a chicken Ramen and I got veggie tomato Ramen. He added on bok choy and kimchi, which came in side dishes, but you can get it in the Ramen as well. I liked the sake, even though I am new to the sake experience. We both enjoyed our Ramen. He made his extra spicy, I like that they have the spicy sauce at the table so you can add more if you like. The Ramen dishes were excellent with lots of flavor. The staff was friendly and attentive. The prices were really reasonable, for all that food it was $60..
I’ve been to Toyo Ramen several times now, and it’s consistently great. The service is always fast, the staff are friendly, and the food comes out hot and delicious every single time. The broth is rich, the toppings are super flavorful, and the whole place has a cozy, welcoming vibe. Definitely one of my favorite ramen spots in the neighborhood.
Love this ramen spot!!! I came on a rainy day on a whim and it was a good experience. I ordered the fruit berry tea with mango boba and it’s honestly the best drink I’ve had in a while. I also ordered the Sukiyaki ramen and I absolutely loved it. Will definitely be coming here again.
Tried this ramen spot for the first time and it was absolutely amazing! The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles perfectly chewy, and every bite felt like comfort in a bowl. Our waiter was super patient with us while we decided what to order, which made the whole experience even better. Plus, they have this awesome deal — write a Google review and get any drink of your choice on the house! Highly recommend!
We took kids here for dinner after a long day out, and it was such a great experience! The host was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. The kids especially loved the buns and edamame — they couldn’t stop eating! The ramen was also fantastic — rich, flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles. Definitely a spot we’ll be coming back to!
Shortcut ramen. Tonkotsu broth isn't actually pork bone broth. They're using unusual additives or prepackaged broth base to give the cloudy appearance of tonkotsu but missing all the flavor and mouth feel. The char siu was very thick, chewy and had huge pieces of tendon in it. Noodles were standard instant noodles. For the price, you can get much better ramen. But the service was great and everything was very clean.
decent ramen spot in the local neighborhood, had the tonkatsu, and like other reviewers said, get the lowest spice possible, the medium was way more spicy than expected, it's felt in the eyes and nose and throat, and had the spicy wonton and it's like a classic traditional wonton but not with the lao gan ma and their own spice. the miss yu taro boba had bubbles that could be less firm. overall pretty decent
Today is our last day in nyc and weather is abit chilly so we decided to eat ramen. We found toyo ramen. The server was very quick and nice. She took care of us immediately. Restaurant is clean and has a nice vibe to it. As far as the ramen goes. I got the toyo tonkotsu ramen. The broth was rich, the egg was jammy which is great. The noodle for me was alil bit overcooked. I like it more aldente where my noodle doesnt feel too soft. Otherwise food was fantastic
It was a cold and rainy night when I first came uponToyo Ramen bar. Totally hit the spot The Ramen is well seasoned - not overly salty as is often the case. The chicken wontons were very tasty, and the spinach fresh I! A good addition to the neighborhood
Came in for ramen n it did not disappoint. The broth was flavorful & honestly it did not need any additional toppings. I was just being greedy adding more. It was perfect as is. The cucumber lime juice was super refreshing. I love that the container it comes in is reusable, such a nice little bonus. The shrimp tempura is not the traditional light tempura style. It is more like fried shrimp. Still good, just different from what I expected.
I’ve just finished eating here today. I was in the neighborhood and had a want for ramen and was surprised I’ve not been to this place as I’m familiar with some of the other Ramen shops in the area. I have to say this was a pleasant experience at this particular ramen spot. I will say the only downside is the pork was very few considering that some of the other places are a little more generous with pork for what you’re paying. However, the atmosphere for the most part is very inviting and calm which is very different from other places that seem busy and super loud. I also do appreciate that they do not give me the bums rush and they let me sit and relax after eating their good food and was even attentive to my want of water and refills. I didn’t eat their good food brown shredded stuff that was in the ramen as it is my first time trying it and my stomach wasn’t comfortable with it (Google just showed me that this stuff is called Wood ear mushrooms. Definitely not for me. I’ll ask them to leave it out next time). I definitely recommend this place if you’re in town or just wanting a different atmosphere to relax and eat. UPDATE: I am not a fan of bubble tea. However I tried this Milk Green Tea they shared with me and I have to say it’s quite delicious! I actually like it more without the bubbles! I know that sounds weird, but I’m very simplistic when it comes to food and sometimes simple is best! You should definitely try this drink!
If you want a great, filling hot meal -- especially when it's cold outside -- check out Toyo Ramen Bar. Lots of great dishes to pick from. We enjoyed a few different ramens, including the Brooklyn Kontotsu, Empire Miso and Harlem Red. We all ordered medium spice and it was just a nice kick. Each of us was happy with our choice. The interior is comfortable and nicely decorated. Prices are reasonable.
Didn’t love this place. Called ahead and spent 20 mins trying to make the reservation. Never sent me a confirmation so when I show up they refuse me a table and I’m haggling with them. Informed them in advance of my gluten allergy and they were still confused. Don’t come here if you’re looking for good service because the server sat down and started eating at a table and we had to wait until she finished to get our check. Really rude waiters and not good enough to be charging what they are.
Our server was fine, could have been slightly better with water refill or check backs. The food on the other hand was terrible. The worst ramen I’ve had and really disappointing for a place called ramen bar. The broth was bland, noodles were too soft, pork texture was chewy, and the eggs were sadly overcooked. The gyoza was the only saving grace, had it as an appetizer and those were actually really good and crispy.
