Best tasting breakfast and lunch on nostrand ave a wide variety of vegetables and meats. Looking for the best tasting doubles come to trini girl restaurant. The staff and owners are very professional and respectful to their customers
The food is very delicious and rich in flavor. They have a wide variety from bake and shark to doubles to roti and also a sidewalk Barbeque on a Friday. The prices are very reasonable and the customer service is very top notch.
Great home-style meal for a very comfortable price!!! Highly recommend a visit. I enjoyed the curry conch dalpuri... and the roti made it even more filling!! MUST TRY!! :)
Great atmosphere great experience the server was super friendly and has a great personality. The food was truly delicious.
I tried it for her first time yesterday and I immediately remembered home. I forgot that missed it. The food is amazing. Service amazing. Atmosphere amazing. I did both delivery and in person. Same tier of service. Support local. Tell your friends. Pick up a meal here and go eat it in the park.
The food is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming. A must-visit spot for anyone who loves some delicious trini eats!"
This is one of the best restaurants ,thank God they don't mix the potato with channa ,you get great sides and you have to pay extra gor any other sides ,nice people ,great service highly recommended
Moved to the neighborhood recently and was excited to try the local food. Had a delicious meal of curry goat and rice. It was fairly priced and good portion size. Highly recommend if you want a tasty dinner!
Delicious Trini food! Got rice, okra, dhal, fried plantains and roti. $15 total and had leftovers. The staff was super helpful and kind, easily pointing out vegan options. Would absolutely come back.
A favorite of mine for doubles. Sides like okra and spinach are good too. Friendly service and great prices.
Went here on a whim after usual place was closed. Really great food and great value. Good portions as well. The girl with the hat had amazing service.
From start to finish, everything was smooth and enjoyable.
The best jerk chicken I’ve ever tasted! To top it off, it was only $5!!! This juicy piece of chicken was packed with flavor and heat. I will be returning sometime this week for seconds.
A life saver of a restaurant for me today! I used to go to this place since they were on the food network for their food but then one day they were gone, moved completely out of the area, and I really upset about it. Lo and behold after a disastrous trip to a place called Ali's roti shop, I had to do some searching and learned Trini Girl was back in the neighborhood! Amazing food. Amazing staff. Great owner who know how to treat her patrons with respect and dignity. Great music, nice seating area and little bar area. Just a great great Trini spot! Invest in a business like this because you're bellies will be so happy, full and you won't break the bank either! Thank you Trini Girl for a great welcome back today and welcome back to you all as well!
I was looking an authentic taste of Trinidad when I found this Caribbean delight! I love the atmosphere of this place . The store is clean, and the staff friendly. The savory curry dishes are simply delicious! Conchs Roti, and Doubles are my favorites. I’ll definitely be back.
Trini girl is absolutely my go-to in the neighborhood - food is always incredible, women are lovely, and vibes are great. I’m veg and they always make me a great veg roti with whatever veggies they are serving up and their doubles and sides are the best. Super home cooked and delicious!! Specials are also always on point
Best doubles and curry goat I've had in a long time. Would highly recommend!
Where's the 6 star option? Staff are friendly and attentive! Food never disappoints. Best go-to spot for Caribbean taste in BK! Menu is on point , and prices are right as well. Did I mention the awesome customer service? I can go on .. just visit and see for yourself! Need I say less, you'll thank me later.
The food was amazing!!! This is my second time there and I had to meet the owner. Chef Ro (Owner), it was a pleasure. Keep up the awesome dishes you offer. Will definitely be back. Great staff and serve too....💯💥
Thus spot is the BEST spot for Doubles.....No doubth....hot on the spot, the sauces are well blended, service, accommodation.... taste like Trinidad.
This is my go to restaurant when I'm craving an authentic Caribbean meal. Lovely place with a wide variety of delicious home cooked meals, courteous staff, and extremely clean environment. Food has great flavors that will tingle your taste buds! Looking forward to my next visit.
The food here was so delicious and the restaurant is very clean which is something I look out for especially now during Covid times. Everything was authentic and so flavorful and had the perfect amount of spice. The service was great and the staff was friendly and helpful. I can’t wait to go back! I would highly recommend.
This restaurant will become a place you suggest to others. The restaurant operates with many workers who are universally pleasant. No establishment offers better cost value. The food impresses with flavor, uses market-fresh items, and looks stunning. Trini Girl offers a truly special experience.
Leaving this review after literally two bites of jerk chicken and plantains. SO good, so flavorful, and friendly folks behind the counter
Very good food, friendly service with generous portions.
i doubled back for some doubles. i came in randomly off the street to get a quick bite. the doubles were really flavorful and delicious that i had to go back for two more 🫣. customer service was nice and sweet. the actual restaurant is really clean, great seating, nice open window concept and has a great authentic Trini vibe and aesthetic. i will be back and can’t wait to try more then the doubles
First of all place is clean, The lady that takes out your food , very pleasant . That’s a plus 🫶🏾, now the DOUBLES, that’s what I came for, I’ve been craving doubles for the longest , and this place has the best doubles , it reminds me of back home ( Trinidad) 🇹🇹 if it wasn’t cold I would of stood outside and eat , just to feel like I was home it was that good.. great food , pleasant staff. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍. Nxt time I’ll take out a picture .
The doubles are to die for and the different chickens are so appetizing - defined will come back !
Incredibly delicious Trinidadian food and great service! If you ever come here, try the doubles and one of the curries. Mt favorite is the goat curry. Lovely staff. Awesome prices!
We were in Brooklyn for a concert. We found this gem on the website. The doubles, corn soup, bake and shark were delicious. All the food was made fresh and looked appealing The staff were friendly. I would definitely recommend. Whenever we are in Brooklyn we will come back again.
I traveled all the way from New Jersey to visit this Trinidadian gem, and it was worth every mile! From the moment I stepped in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made me feel at home. The aroma of authentic Caribbean spices filled the air, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The doubles were hands down the best I’ve ever had—perfectly soft bara paired with a well-seasoned, flavorful channa filling that had just the right kick of spice. The curry and roti were an absolute dream, with the curry rich, savory, and spiced to perfection, and the roti so soft and flaky it melted in my mouth. The corn soup was hearty and full of depth, a warm and comforting bowl that hit all the right notes. The stew chicken was tender and well-marinated, with flavors that were both bold and satisfying. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, happy to share recommendations and ensure that I felt the vibrant essence of Trinidadian cuisine. Their authenticity, passion, and hospitality elevated the experience even further. I can confidently say this trip was worth every mile, and I’ll gladly make the journey again. If you’re craving authentic, mouthwatering Trini food, look no further—this is the spot!
Amazing doubles! Best ones in NYC! I come all the way from California to get Trini girl doubles every year. The house made sorrel is next level. The owner and staff are also very friendly and welcoming with dat Trini charm.
The food was nice and fresh and tasty as well. They need a little sink to wash hands at least but they will still make sure your hands are clean if you need
My first experience was amazing. Gabriella is the best!!! She is so respectful and on point. Even my mother comes home and talks about how well she served her and helps her with the door when she’s leaving. I’m very observant and she is very tidy that’s I wait for he to serve me always.
Doubles are just like chola bhatura (and super tasty). Very small though so would get at least 2-3 cause it’s well priced
The atmosphere was great the people who worked in the store was friendly and gave great customer service. And the food was amazing i haven't roti and curry goat in years I really enjoyed it
Each dish seems to hit exactly what it aims for. I experienced friendly, helpful staff in spotless conditions. Food lovers on a budget will appreciate this restaurant. Restaurant workers provided the expected level of good service. This standard of attention gets my complete endorsement.
I kept finding reasons not to try this spot, all of them wrong. The place offered peaceful dining when we got there. Employees are remarkably courteous and pleasant as well. Each bite offered fresh ingredients and visual appeal. Genuinely tasty.
I tried Trini Girl for the first time and I’m honestly so glad I did! The food was amazing — full of flavor and clearly made with love. I got the curry chicken with roti and it was so tender and perfectly seasoned. The doubles were the real deal too- bursting with flavor!! The people working there were so warm and friendly. The owner/chef even came out of the kitchen to introduce herself. She was very polite and knowledgeable about her food. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. Everything looked fresh and delicious. The portions were generous too. It’s rare to find authentic Trini food like this around here, and this place definitely hit the spot. I’ll 100% be back to try more of the delicious food.
when my Trini's friend mom picks me up, before she asks me how I am, she asks if Trini Girl is open. we love their doubles over anywhere else in the area. be warned they always sell out of them before close. their curry chicken is great, roti is great, corn soup one of my absolutely favorites, and ofc the doubles. possibly my favorite restaurant in this area of Crown Heights. however you need to be able to handle your spice! or just don't get it spicy.
This restaurant creates moments that stand apart. Food enthusiasts will appreciate this restaurant. There's a good vibe here, with cleanliness and straightforward design. Their selection is comprehensive and workers are friendly. I plan to visit again to explore more dishes.
My wife and I lived in Trinidad about ten years ago and have been sorely missing doubles all this time. Luckily we found Trini Girl in Brooklyn. The doubles were spot on. The bara was hot and slightly sweet, and the chana full of flavor. We went with slight pepper to start, not sure what our weakened palates could handle. But recommend going more towards medium for those who like some good spice. The service was great and priced fair. Only wish we could get these more on our visit.
Food is good but prices need to be updated so you know what your paying for before you get your food.
Corn soup is the best. Food is good. Everyone except the young girl with the wrap on her head is approachable. I get annoyed going there when she is there because of her nasty attitude.
The Bakes were Awesome however!!! Stay away from the shark… Trincity got that dept of lockdown….
Updated Review!: First time I came here on November 6th, the food was not properly cooked so I had to throw it away. Came here December 22nd, ordered several different things to give them one more chance. Curry duck dinner (4.5) it was good, a bit spicy but overall it was tasty with the fried rice. Doubles (5/5). Maybe some of the best doubles I’ve ever had. No pepper sauce this time but there was a green sauce (callaloo maybe) and cucumber. Very delicious. I would definitely recommend this. Curry goat and buss up roti with curry potatoes. (4.5/5). The goat is some of the best Trinidadian curry goat I’ve had with a tablespoon of tamarind. I ate some of it and loved it. Would get it like this again. Saltfish and bake (4.75/5). I got these separately but the saltfish was a bit too salty (ironic), yet it was very good with the bake. Get it, you’ll like it. I gave them another Trini cause I’ve always been underwhelmed with Trinidadian food. This time, it was actually really good (maybe a new chef). Come here for some food, you won’t regret it. The guy with glasses, maybe Indo Trinidadian gives off a negative bad vibe to me. Gut feeling is just letting me know he’s not a good person. I spent $40, today Monday 11/6/23 and bought two chicken curry roti, five doubles and a chicken curry dinner. Had to throw everything away. The woman put the extremely hot pepper sauce on the doubles. I couldn’t eat it. I didn’t ask for it either. The roti (I don’t really like Trinidadian food like that but was urged to fry it) had uncooked chicken in it. I had to throw everything away and will dispute with my CC. Absolutely upset for what I received. Take a look in the attached picture I posted and tell me if this chicken looks cooked. Smh. Never again will I come back here. Im calling the health department too. Unacceptable.
Flavorful Trinidadian food served in a casual and mostly takeout location. The quality and flavor of the authentic food deserve five stars while the restaurant space is two stars at best. So, if you want great food to go or don’t need a fancy location, then you definitely should eat here.
Loved the authentic style crab curry with dumplings on the bottom of the plate. Crab was well cleaned and portion size was fair for price. The pumpkin and spinach with roti was delicious and went well on the side. Shark and bake had pineapple inside I think. It was decent. Everything was great in combination compared to a lot of other roti shops, the quality of the crab and freshness of vegetable dishes did it for me.
I ordered a boneless chicken roti meal. I was not expecting to have to wrap my roti myself. I can't comment on flavor or taste since my tastebuds aren't working correctly. I did eat it all if that helps. The Bbq chicken quarters looked real good, might try that next time.
First time trying this place. The staff was a more friendly than the other 2 restaurants I went to on Nostrand that day. Food is bland and the tamarind sauce is watery. Could be better. I hope it gets better.
I can’t see this place lasting much longer. Their prices are ridiculous. Everywhere else is cheaper. Their food tastes ok, but not worth the outrageous prices. $14 for a boneless chicken roti is absurd. I wish Gloria’s was still in the neighborhood.
Ordered a boneless chicken roti. A generous portion but the chicken was dry.
The portion sizes were a little weird. They put three pieces of chicken (which is expected), a tiny bit of potato, then fill up the rest of the bottom with sauce so that it looks more full. By the time you eat the chicken, there is almost nothing else left in the bowl. I wouldn’t go back to this place. Ali’s Roti shop gives better portions
I bought kurma, pholourie, and 2 doubles. The doubles didn't lash....the skin was to thin and wet. The pholourie lash, it was ah hit....taste rell nice. The kurma was not fresh, just ah sugar stick...nah man 🇹🇹 kurma don't taste like that. But all that aside, I will go back for pholourie. The music in there was pumping. So I will dance up and buy my pholourie yes.
Everything appears satisfactory. My sole concern pertains to a male server who was not wearing gloves while handling food, and collecting money. As a general rule of thumb, I would appreciate it if all food handlers wore gloves.
I paid $18 for curry goat and white rice. No sides or nothing. All sides are extra here which pissed me off but w.e. The rice was ok. The goat was just spicy without putting pepper sauce on it already. Not much flavor and a bit dry. Won’t get it again but I’ll try the bake and shark next time.
The food is good and my only complaint is ordering, after saying 3 times I just want one type of sauce she proceeded to put everything but the sauce I wanted. It just depends who’s in the front
Roti and bushupshut are good. Some dishes just taste okay. I think they need to spice up the dish. But staff are very nice and easy to talk to
Ordered in yesterday. Always glad to support a Trini business, but I was disappointed. The curry chicken and goat my friend and I ordered was oilier than we expected (I didn't even eat all the gravy, which I usually want to last throughout my meal) and the chicken was kinda fresh and wanted some more seasoning from the meat-prep stage. The pieces of chicken were also super big and chunky. I didn't get the mouth watering aroma I usually do when I eat curry. I share this in the most constructive way and I hope that it is taken as such.
Never open on time, they take forever to make an order. Super slow with no care to rush. The potato for the roti was like soup and i brought my american friend who never had it. She was so disappointed. Used to be good but de hot pot on Washington Avenue is by far better.
Through Uber Eats I ordered two buss up shot and one curry chicken. Due to the price of the chicken at $13 for meat only, I figured it would be a good amount of chicken that I could share with my friend. However, to my dismay it was 4 pieces of chicken and 4 pieces of chicken back. Their curry tastes good but I would not spend oxtail prices for 4 pieces of chicken back.
Everytime I try to order from this place, they never have any shark left. I really had a craving for it so I decided to Ubereats some doubles. I ordered doubles here and all I got was this greasy flat and cold fried dough with not even a spoonful of channa. I paid $30 for 2 regular and 2 shark doubles which were $6 each btw. Never again!
Awful service, these people charge for everything. Roti not coming with chana is crazy. Veggie roti only comes with 2 sides lol greedy greedy people. Must be under new management. Up the block better frfr
8.45 am an they still not open on a Saturday? I think the will loose so much customers just because of that ... trying to support especially because they offer cucumbers in doubles unlike TRINCITY or the others in Queens but this is FAILURE SMH
I ordered 20 buss up shot today waited for them to be made, got home in Maryland and only got 5 in the bag. I made sure and asked the guy who attended to me if all 10 was in the bag and he said yes. I even told him these were going to Maryland. Sir I will be back up in 2 weeks and I want my 5 missing items. Please and thanks
My daughter has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair scooter, and she was unable to enter this establishment. There is a sign on front of the building, saying no scooters allowed. My daughter had to wait outside for her food. The exit door have a ramp for acess for people with disabilities that uses a wheelchair or scooter wheelchair. The owner has no compassion or charity for people with a disability who want to come into your place of business to sit down and enjoy a meal. In addition to her cold heart and lack of compassion my daughter wanted extra sauce for her meal. I ask politely and the owner of the business who happens to be a woman told me that she will have to charge me $2.00 extra for sauce. I said excuse me Miss I just spended $55.00 for my order and you want to charge me additional $2.00 for a condiment cup size of sauce. I quietly took my food and walk out of the restaurant. The owners attitude was very unwelcoming and she likes compassion for people that has disability because the exit of the building doesn’t allow acess for wheelchair and scooter wheelchair people to enter her establishment. My experience took place on Friday 8/29/25.
Part of my delivery order was missing-shark doubles, that was annoying and they ran out of pholourie by 12noon. The bag was also packaged poorly and the food was lukewarm; it gave me a bad stomach.
Ordered 2 meals, the King fish and Chow mein was good. However, my daughter’s curry chicken was pink inside. All three pieces had to be thrown in the garbage. Really disappointing
I went there got 2 Doubles, and the girl put 2 grain of Channa you can count them they raised the price and wanna give customers crap I will never buy there again
Disrespectful. Rude. Loud. Consistently plays loud music OUTSIDE all day and night. I agree with the other neighborhood reviews and not the fake ones. Despite asking them to turn down the music they continue to play it very loudly. We cannot escape it from a block away. I wish they would serve good food and good service and not be disruptive.
I recently brought chicken that was raw from the inside out. I was so disappointed. I spent $20 here and it was a complete waste of money. The cook needs to put some damn clothes on too. And who in they right mind would pay three dollars for a solo when it’s one dollar are the grocery store on Fulton. Won’t EVER be back!!!
I purchased the curry goat roti and the curry chicken roti. They were both tasteless and under seasoned. The goat roti was also undercooked it was tough and hard to chew. I was very disappointed. Obviously, they're selling to people who don't know what true Trinidadian food is. They ought to be ashamed. They stole $30 from me
The food was amazing, 10/10, would recommend to a friend, most definitely try it again but I was absolutely disgusted by the way the boss spoke to his staff. He is very arrogant & impatient. He should not be working morning shift with such an attitude.
WARNING RAINBOW CHILDREN YOU ARE NOT WELCOMED HERE. Very rude & arrogant towards Black people. There is a double standard of service for Black people. All ppl are God’s people. The amount of hate in this place is pathetic. Food is maybe a 2 ; taste is mediocre & the portion size changes depending on who’s serving the food. If you want good Trini food & service go to Royal Bakery @Pacific/Nostrand (or) TriniCity in Queens food + portion size is better at both places & they respect all people. Trini Girl serving hate in the food & service. Especially the chubby Genoese girl that works during the day.
I ordered a curry chicken roti with everything on it. Everything meaning, pepper sauce etc. I was given a bland bowl of curry chicken with my roti skin on the side. Nothing that I asked for in my curry. I decided to try this place because A&A and Ali's are not on Uber eats. I was definitely left disappointed and underwhelmed with my food. I had a taste for roti the way I normally get it and I was given something completely short of that. The roti skin was good but I won't be ordering again.
Food wasn't anything spectacular. Got a goat roti and I've had better, pholourie was super dry
The food is horrible, too much pepper no good flavor or taste. My baby couldn’t eat because a lot of pepper in the food , people cook without pepper and let Customer decide if they want pepper or not. customer service Horrible, The person who take out food have attitude, food, messy, and disgusting I would never recommend and never going back.
Water logged over priced shrimp aloopie, un curry, usein Trini name. Failure
Good morning to all who’s reading this so this morning I called approximately at 8am asking if they were open because on google it says open at 8am , & on uber eats it stated open at 9am . Spoke to someone and she proceeded to tell me they are open , so I then asked do they have bake and saltish & do they have curry shrimp . She states yes . Okay no problem I make my way to the restaurant . Upon arriving to the restaurant I asked them for curry shrimp & white rice . The woman stated they do not have white rice currently which is understandable, they just actually opened . I then asked do they have Roti , she said no again . So now I start to question well what am I going to eat my curry shrimp with lol? So I then just asked her for the bake and saltfish & curry shrimp on the side with a side of bake . It’s time to now check out . Guys keep in mind I have Bake and saltfish which was $8.50 the max & A SIDE OF SHRIMP WITH A SIDE OF BAKE ???? EXACTLY WHAT MADE THE PRICE $30?! I then asked her um excuse me this is not the correct price ! She then tells her boss and her boss says well the shrimp is $18 ???! WHAT DO YOU MEAN $18?! MAM WE ARE TALKING ABOUT A SIDE OF SHRIMP?! AND I NORMALLY PAY $18 FOR A FULL MEAL FOR SHRIMP AND WHITE RICE FROM YOU GUYS ?? SO HOW ARE YOU CHARGING ME $18 FOR A SIDE ?! I then asked to speak to her boss , the woman came back to proceed to say “ she said to just take the shrimp off & the bake and give you the bake and saltfish “ so practically disregard that I asked to speak to her & was completely unprofessional?! So i just said actually i prefer to not get anything from you guys . I will take my money elsewhere . I would never eat from this place again . They are MONEY HUNGRY! Nevertheless I did go to A&A Bake & Doubles Shop On 1337 Fulton St Brooklyn Ny 11216 , just a few blocks down from here & guess what . I got my bake and saltfish + my FULL SIZE CURRY SHRIMP WITH WHITE RICE + a BEVERAGE for ONLY $25!!!!! Everyone please re route and go to that place instead !!! & it’s WORTH the money! & they have soo much better customer service !” OH thanks for your response , so yes let’s also add yes I asked for EXTRA SHRIMPS BECAUSE HENCH I WAS GIVEN A SMALL CONTAINER FOR A SIDE OF SHRIMPS THAT WAS ONLY ABOUT A COUPLE OF SHRIMPS THAT YOU COULD PUT IN A SMALL DOUBLES LOL😂😂😂 SO OFC I ASKED FOR EXTRA AND HAD NO PROBLEM PAYING EXTRA . BUT THE EXTRA WAS STILL NOT WHERE EVEN THE AMOUNT YOU GUYS NORMALLY GIVE ME WHEN I ORDER A NORMAL CURRY SHRIMP WITH WHITE RICE LOL!😂 SO EITHER WAY AGAIN WHAT WAS $30 FOR AGAIN? AND ALSO I ADDED A PHOTO OF THE CONTAINER THAT YOU GUYS WERE TRYING TO SERVE ME MY “$18 + EXTRA FOR SHRIMP” LOL ! I wish I would’ve took a video it ! & ALSO HERE IS A PHOTO OF MY NORMAL PLATE THAT WOULD COST ME NORMALLY $18 ! & MY FOOD WAS NOWHERE NEAR TO THAT AT ALL 😂So again my review still stands . You guys are money hungry unfortunately. & it’s okay . Do better in your business 🫶🏽🫶🏽
Rude. Seemed to service Trinidad’s in a timely fashion. Thank you to the woman that made him acknowledge me! Love the corn soup. Not my First exposure with such treatment. Will not go bring FBA self back!
