my grandmother is in that kitchen, just delicious
Really tasty, and not heavy.
Old school!
Authentic atmosphere and food.

Great middle eastern food
Amazing food and service
A well-decorated cafe.
Felling at home at Tripoli Brooklyn Heights
Hidden little gem.
Foods really good
god
I love me some Lebanese food. I am so glad my friend and I came across this place. It’s authentic homemade Lebanese cuisine. The food was delicious. We had some mezas and the baked kibee. My friend had the baklawa. AMAZING!! A place where I will definitely come back, order takeout from, and recommend for catering. And, the whole family tends to the customers!! ♥️
Been visiting Tripoli since it opened in 1983 or thereabouts. Always good. I love this place. Good service and menu with typical and not so typical dishes. Lamb!
Incredible food, fantastic service. I have had both dine in and take out. Highly recommend.
Famliy owned restaurant this place is so amazing the food , the atmosphere, the people , some of the best middle eastern food I have had ,this is a definite go to spot !
The BEST food around. We love tripoli and although we have moved out of the neighborhood we still make trips specifically to come here.
Delicious. Nice dining room down stairs. Really really good food. Great surprise to wander into
This is an amazing spot never had Lebanons food and it was so delicious and cravable , family atmosphere and extremely friendly, recommended this to everyone !
Fantastic food! Will definitely come back!
This place is extra ordinary, I can't truly say I really enjoyed the food at tripoli, this is where I actually eat everyday, food is a top class for me, I really would recommend u to to try, prices r really affordable
Very authentic and professional. The food was outstanding and I would definitely come back again.
Delicious food and nice atmosphere? Can bring your own drink!
Great family owned place and super dishes.
Great food, great portions, cool atmosphere
Great food. Nice decor and atmosphere.
Amazing food, very authentic and tastes great
Amazing secret basement middle eastern restaurant. Only known by locals.
Amazing food and great service.
Home style Lebanese food was great
Hidden gem! As inexpensive as it is delicious
Came for dinner for 2 on a Saturday night. The restaurant is hidden away in the basement. We split the lebni (which we enjoyed) and the mixed grill which surprised me with how good it was. It came with regular lamb, ground lamb, and chicken. I normally don’t like chicken but their chicken was nicely seasoned and not dry. The other lamb pieces were also deliciously seasoned. I wish I had gotten my own mixed grill instead of splitting it because I wanted to eat more. It came with buttered rice and a salad. It does take a bit for the grilled dishes to come out, but they do warn you about this on the menu. We will definitely be coming back.
Amazing restaurant- the food was so fresh and delicious. I loved the spinach pies, veggie grape leaves, hummus, baba ganoush, and mjudra. Their pita was also so amazing and fresh out of the oven! I will certainly be going back. Great spot to go if you want a nourishing meal that’s not heavy.
total gem — only place I could find in the area that does the traditional 20 small plates menu!!
The food is amazing & service is great, the atmosphere not so much as it’s in a basement, that’s why I always have my food to go because everything they make is delish , definitely would recommend the sheesh barak, comes as steamy hot dumplings 🥟 filled with lamb & cooked in a savory yoghurt sauce. One time I ordered it with pick (with tabbouleh of course yum 😋) & couldn’t wait to get home, started eating at the tables outside the cafe because it smelled so good, couldn’t resist, Thai place looks like a landmark, they have their own olive 🫒 oil brand imported from Lebanon 🇱🇧 called Ancient Tree 🌲 the aroma of their olive oil is distinct, takes me to to Tripoli or Beirut. If you want really good Middle Eastern food, this is the place no doubt, I hope this is iconic spot on Atlantic Ave stays open. It’s special. Very very few places make sheesh barak because it’s a special homemade delicacy, if you never have tried the dish, I recommend that you do!
Nice place. A little empty but the food is amazing. Nice hidden gem of New York. Looks pretty fancy inside so definitely great place to go on a date or just a casual hang out. I’m the area near several hookah places so if your feeling adventurous for a nice Arabian night out it’s a great idea. Food comes in nice portions and the prices are reasonable for what you get. I’m used to eating Turkish food and this was nice because it was similar with a nice flare. Check it out.
Simple, flavorful, and authentic. A true Brooklyn gem for anyone craving genuine Lebanese cuisine.
The food is very good, authentic and fresh!
Great food and service. Lots of delicious authentic middle eastern food on the menu. Our group of 10 ordered Mazza of about 12 items. Even though the restaurant was somewhat busy on a Sunday evening service was quick and attentive.
We had a great time at Tripoli last night. The food is excellent. My wife really enjoyed the eggplant in Yoghurt dish. I had the eggplant in tomato. For dessert definitely try the rice pudding.
Best middleastern restaurant I've ever been to. The place is very clean, food is authentic and so delicious, and the service is very friendly. It takes me back home for sure!
Really authentic food, olive oil is crack
I absolutely love going to Tripoli. We have since moved from the neighborhood and truly miss it. I wish they delivered to us! The owner was always sweet and hardworking. The food is amazing. Support local!
The food here is amazing. Goes way beyond classic dishes and has food I have never seen anywhere else. Great service and everything I have had there is delicious, especially lamb dishes.
Amazing food, amazing experience!
Best food and service in nyc!!
Best middle eastern food I’ve ever had after living in the u.s for 10+ years!!!
Incredible food! We catered for a wedding party and everyone loved the rice, kofta, chicken, hummus, stuffed grape leaves... everything was excellent!
Great food and service. Ingredients are super fresh and it shows in the food. Highly recommend !
Went to Tripoli for takeout this week. Used their website which was very easy! Ordered the Minazli which is a delicious tomato stew-like dish with ground lamb and rice. I love Lebanese food and am so excited this place exists! Can’t wait to try more items on their menu
Such a hidden gem! Owner was so friendly and welcoming, helped us understand the menu and the Traditional Meza was incredible especially if you are new to Lebanese food and was also a great deal. Loved that it's family owned and how authentic it all was. What a great find!
Great food, even greater family run service! Highly recommend!
I’m Lebanese (from Tripoli) and this is my favorite Lebanese restaurant in NYC. The food is fresh, the flavors are on point, and the hospitality is top notch. A true hidden gem on Atlantic Ave.
Wow. Just wow. I am so happy I discovered this place!!! If you are looking for authentic simply made/served Lebanese food, look no further. We ordered the traditional mezze, fattoush, and Samki hara, all of which were fantastic. Tasted like my aunts were in the kitchen! We ended the meal with very comforting rice pudding for dessert. Totally give this place a try for dine in Fri-Sun nights. We had the entire restaurant to ourselves.
Great authentic food, highly recommend. A hidden gem of Brooklyn.
Tripoli in Brooklyn Heights was absolutely delicious. The four of us ordered the 20-plate meza platter, couscous, and fattoush with house-made pomegranate nectar, and every dish was packed with fresh, vibrant flavor. The variety alone made it such a fun and memorable meal. We left completely full and impressed by ingredients and flavors that felt different from our usual routine. That said, I would plan for extra time. The food and the bill both took a while, and the bathrooms could have been cleaner. Still, the quality of the meal truly stood out. It feels like a warm, family-run neighborhood corner spot, and I would wholeheartedly come back.
Awesome Lebanese spot that has been here since my mom was a kid, but I had not tried until recently. The baba ghanouj had great flavor and consistency, with ample tahini. The hot yogurt soup was unique and refreshing. The star of the meal was the sumki hara which had a spiced paste with almonds and walnut, along with lemon and other flavors. Great portion size and a super flavorful dish that id say is a must order. Rice pudding was a solid cap on the meal. The subterranean location, Lebanese decor and carved wood chairs also led to a great experience. Check it out!
As my spouse and I were desperate to find a last minute nice dinner, we stumbled upon this amazing lebanese restaurant. The ambiance was warm, cozy & intimate. The service was amazing, it felt as if I was eating right at home. The quality of food showed authenticity, originality, and was extremely tasty. 10/10 would highly recommend!
What a lovely family business! Great food and family friendly vibe and also good for a romantic dinner! I look forward to going again!
Absolutely amazing experience. Literally everything was delicious. My favorite would be the shish chicken. If you want authentic Lebanese food, this is the spot. Service was also exceptional.
Such an unassuming but delicious restaurant! The entrance is downstairs so hidden from street level, but this was truly such a great hidden gem! We ordered the Lebanese Traditional Meza to share between the two of us, and absolutely loved it. So much food, but somehow we finished it all! We will definitely be back to try to entrees next time. Thank you!!
Loved the food and there were many vegetarian and vegan options, even entrees. Many of the entree options were pretty unique so definitely looking forward to coming back. The fava bran appetizer was unique as well served warm nicely flavored with garlic. Prices were also very affordable compared to most Mediterranean restaurants. The restaurant is located in the basement and had a nice setting making us feel like we were in Lebanon!
This place is amazing! It could be easy to miss but I really hope you don’t. It is located downstairs of Swallow cafe. We reached here by accident after being turned away from another restaurant, but in retrospect it turned out to be such a memorable sunday night family dinner. Food: If you like fish, definitely order the Sumki Hara. I don’t think I have tasted anything similar ever. The lamb and chicken in the mixed grill were spectacular as well. The chicken curry was mild and heartwarming. All of the dishes came with rice which was coated with either ghee or butter and also had vermicelli which was different and so delicious. Amazing staff! We will be back!
Excellent food and service. The olive oil is distinct and flavourful. The tabbouleh is fresh. The Shish Barak was light, tasty, and refreshing. The servers are attentive and pleasant. The atmosphere is peaceful. This is a restaurant done right. I will be coming back.
I had a lovely experience here as a solo diner. The sumki hara fish impressed me so much, I haven’t had flavors like that in a while! The grape leaf stuffed rice and lamb was yummy too but a bit sour for my palate (I’m sure that’s how it’s suppose to be I’m just not used to it). I didn’t mind it was in the basement because if you’re enjoying good food with loved ones it doesn’t matter. You can tell it’s a family run business and I’ll continue to support as I can and order the fish!
It was amazing , all the food was very tasty, a real delicacy . I subestimed the appearance of the place but was a nice surprise
WOW! I come from Tripoli Lebanon and I can’t ever say any Foods as good as moms cooking but this place is a very close second. I ordered a little of everything so my guys at work can have a taste of home we got Wara Anib (grape leaves) Falafel, Kifta, fatouch and Tabouli… ended with a little baklava. Very impressed with this place I can’t wait to eat in doors again so I can show my appreciation to the chef!

Could recommend this place more - the food is incredible and everything is homemade (even the pomegranate nectar!). Great spot to go if you have a group that includes vegetarians. Plus the family to runs it is so nice. Make sure you look out for the entrance - it’s too unassuming doors on the street and then down
such amazing food! had the tripoli shrimp and hummus. the rice was soo good. waitstaff were also very kind and hospitable. i walk by all the time and finally came in— highly recommend!
Food was incredible but the best was the service and familiarity of everyone specially of Mo
I was at this restaurant last night with my husband, teenage sons and friend. The food arrived in a timely manner and was tasty and fresh. Our glasses were filled and refilled. The sounds were exotic, our waiter was absolutely lovely and we were all better for having spent time there. We even left with a bottle of olive oil. If you are looking for authentic Middle Eastern food, this is the place. But I want to add this: Their location is spacious but below ground, and as a result, not seen at street level. They need our business. I am not in any way related to this team of food professionals; I was just a customer. That said, the power of a review and of many reviews can make a difference. We all know this. So go, enjoy and post good reviews. It would be a shame for the neighborhood to lose this gem!
Amazing Lebanese cuisine! Very authentic and delicious…It’s a family owned business and the hospitality was 10/10 as well as the food ! They were very kind, clearly care about the quality of their food, and truly value customer satisfaction as well as feedback to keep improving. Will 100% be back, next time with my family. Highly recommend! P.S. Almost everything is imported straight from Lebanon, so it’s natural and high quality. Especially the olive oil! Ended up buying 3.5L of it to go 😂.

I liked Mediterranean food. Baba ganus, Falafel, Humus etc. Turkish tea was fantastic!! Seafood choice are also available. Reasonable price.
Stopped in for a early nye drink after dinner. Nice little place if you sit @ the bar
Beautiful Lebanese restaurant in Brooklyn. Bring your own bottle as no alcohol
Very good food & service in the Arab neighborhood of Atlantic Ave in Brooklyn
Good food in a friendly setting. Service fast and friendly. Good local spot
I haven't been to Tripoli in years, but I did get their falafel appetizer and Greek salad yesterday and they were both very good. The falafel was really flavorful with sesame seeds and parsley in it. I did get falafel from another restaurant to compare and the Tripoli ones were far superior. Their tahini sauce was a little bit dull. I really love their Greek salad. It has walnuts in it which I've never seen in a Greek salad before. It was a good addition! The salad was wonderfully crushed together so there was lots of flavor and lots of cheese. I'm usually very picky about tomatoes because they don't have a lot of flavor this time of year and tomatoes in the salad were very average but the salad was so good, I ate around them. We look forward to trying more dishes in the near future!
The gentleman Nick was great, took his time to make sure you overstood the menu and if things was Irie he changed it with no hesitation
When you want a real Lebanese dinner, with the highest quality ingredients, and lots of flavor, come here. Atmosphere is perfect for an intimate night out. BYOB
The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The decor is very nice...I love the seating in the back and the custom chairs. The food is great...salad, pita bread, hummus and lebanese omelette was great. The ground lamb in yogurt sauce is wasn't as appetizing. Lamb was barely seasoned and the yogurt sauce was too watery with barely any seasoning. Overall everything was good. I would still recommend.
Nice low key neighborhood joint. The table next to us got the mezze sampler and I might do that next time. Everything was good, might be my palate but I had to add salt to the dishes. Friendly service.
We went here on Good Friday and we had vegetarian grape leaf, fattoush salad, hummus, Sumki Hara fish, and Sumuk Btahini fish. The food was great. We loved the salad and the Sumki Hara fish - the paste on the food was very unique! We got here at 9:30pm and the restaurant closed at 11pm, so we were basically the only table there. We got great service and we loved the food. Definitely, we’ll consider here again if we are in the area. We even got free dessert as a complement on the House because the owner liked us!

Great rice.
The meal I had was decent. Not to say anything bad about this place but I'm sure they have better meals than the one I picked.
Pretty good food. Decent cheap eat.
My family mostly liked their food, but the sbanegh (ground lamb sauteed with spinach and pine nuts) made me sick. Slow service, decent atmosphere.
After posting the review below, the restaurant felt necessary to post a rebuttal. That's fair. But sadly they chose to also question my integrity. So before you go on reading, know that my late grandparents were Palestinian, so I know middle eastern cuisine well. I also worked myself in the restaurant business years ago. One of the rules I learned is that it doesn't matter if you successfully served a community for decades (as the folks in Tripoli pride themselves). What matters is who's cooking tonight. Lastly, please don't take my word for it. NYC has plenty of middle eastern joints. Have hummus at Naya, or spinach pie at Souk El Shater, or fresh hot-from-the-oven pita at any bakery, and so on, and then visit Tripoli. Then please fill your own rating.. And now, the original review - - - - - - - - - - - Only for those who don't know what middle eastern cuisine should taste like Following the reviews on this site, we ordered the Mezze for two. What a mistake. Basically, most of the tasty items were those that came from outside the kitchen - olives, feta cheese, labneh cheese, pickled turnip. But what involved the kitchen was somewhere between mediocre to bad - from the hummus, through the spinach pie to the kafta. The falafel deserves a special mention - I haven't had such bad falafel in a long time. Was it made from the commercial mix that comes in packets? And what's with the toasted pita bread? You can still tell the bread was not fresh. Bottomline: Very friendly service, but it doesn't make up for the food. Should have tried one of the other middle eastern restaurants in the neighborhood. P.S. Please leave an air freshener in the bathroom. It smells.
We came in on Saturday night as a party of 5. Ordered appetizers which arrived fairly quickly in about 15 minutes. Main course did not arrive for another hour. We were hungry and this was really vexing. Food was mediocre at best and service was terrible. Our waiter has not come to our table even ONCE to ask us if we needed anything. When asked to bring some sauce, he disappeared and we were forgotten about. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Poor service.
Still have pandemic hours. No indoor dining. They don’t seem to care
Listing is inaccurate as to hours. This restaurant is takeout only.
If I could give this place zero stars I would. The food was ridiculously terrible. The lamb was dry and tough like a leather shoe. The stuffed grape leaves were hot and falling apart. And they threw last two pieces of cold stale pita bread still in the cheap supermarket bag open! It's incredible expensive for the quality. I don't eat fast food but I could get better food from the neighborhood Mcdonalds and the food would be better quality then this dump. I mean 40$ for cold stale store bought pita bread they didn't even try to pass it off like it wasn't from Target. Don't waste your money here your night will be full of disappointment and regret!
