I am drooling just thinking if this place again. It was amazing! Please bring friends and get drinks. Saki is highly recommended.
Easy but very limited parking, quick service, and amazing fresh sushi. Kind waitstaff as well!
Would help if there were pictures of the rolls on the menu. But try everything. Good quality and service.
Outstanding service. Sushi was fresh and delicious. Prices were reasonable.
Great place to eat sushi, love the setup of the place, and very nice staff.
Food was amazing and the service was great. Server was super cute and and nice definitely coming back 🥰
Delicious food and incredibly friendly staff!
This place has good service, employees, and food. It is very simple so far. Highly recommend.
Really super nice people, good sushi!
I love the patio area, really cute. I was there yesterday. It was kind of Melo but it was Tuesday Food was good my favorite side dish was the slides of cucumbers with some kind spicy Chile but not too spicy (I am not great about eating chiles). I will definitely will be back there. Sorry no pic because I ate it all before I thought taking a pic
This place is INSANELY good. I'm picky, real picky about sushi. I love Sugarfish, but hate waiting an hour on some random busy sidewalk for it. This place is gorgeous. The decor is welcoming but classy and the food...holy moly! It's amazing! Fresh, mouth watering and affordable. Do yourself a favor and GO!!
If you’ve ever asked yourself, “how can I have the Sugarfish experience but in 10 minutes and a tad cheaper,” this is the place! Extremely fresh sushi. Insanely good and efficient service. Try it now because this concept is going go big time. So glad it started in Burbank.
Enjoyable combo plate to split. The cucumber salad was great. Had to park a few blocks away.
Ok so I'm not the biggest sushi fanatic .. my husband is the one who loves sushi and he tried this place a few months ago and we decided to go this past weekend!! What is annoying about the place is the parking... They don't have a parking lot so you have to find street parking which is a little tough.. but I didn't drive there so I was whatever about it but if I ever did drive there it would be a pain for me... Anyways the food itself was great!! I order two rolls and a salad!! It was light but very filling!!
Sushi is always super fresh and tasty. Great presentation for takeout and dine-in. The portions aren't gigantic so if you're super hungry spring for the bigger boxes.
Seriously amazing sushi. They have a small menu but what they do offer is delicious. The wait staff was amazing and special shout out to Bryant for a great experience.
Best sushi spot I've been to in a very long time! Great atmosphere, great food, great experience! General manager Harry was very kind and very attentive! Definitely coming back!
Very streamlined menu, came out super quickly as well. Great for a lunch spot. Just good, clean, and quick sushi. Definitely recommend.
Overall great experience here. Food was fresh, dining area was perfect and service was top notch. Perry was incredibly accommodating. We will definitely be back.
OMG such a cute place, amazing people and delicious sushi!!! BUT the most perfect thing was the service from the team that working at the restaurant. Thank you guys for lovely evening Gili
Yakumi was so good! Amazing sushi that reminded us of sugar fish and our waiter Bryant was epic! Definitely going back!
Some of the best sushi. Cocktails were delicious. And the service was amazing, everyone was friendly and helpful
This place is amazing!! The food is so fresh and delicious. The owner and staff are so pleasant and knowledgeable. I will definitely be returning very soon.
One of our go-to takeout sushi spots! The fish is always delicious and presented so well.
Wow! Wow! Wow! Sushi was so great and tasty. Their secret sauce is simple 🤫 - super fresh fish! 🐠
Great food and Perry, the manager helped us order and had a great staff! We’ll definitely be back on our next trip to LA!
I had a reservation over at Don Cuco for a single table, but the wait was 50 minutes. I was too hungry, so I walked around the corner & stumbled upon Yakumi Sushi. I was greeted by a very enthusiastic host named Bryant. I run a small boutique hotel with my mom in Mexico and I wish we had more guys like Bryant! As well as Savannah & Ryan. What a super team. The food was delicious and you can't beat the price ($23 for the classic | 5 nigiri style pieces, 2 rolls, a salad & edamame!) C'mon baby this is LA. The hospitality was terrific. Had the opportunity to meet Nicholas (the owner) as well, and he was great to chat with (thank you so much for the Mochi.). Looking forward to seeing this place continue to make a name for itself in the neighborhood. Thanks for taking care of me. Warm Regards, Jake
Great prices, good vibes, amazing sushi. I especially love the truffle oil they put on the salmon nigiri. Great diamond in the rough considering how expensive EVERYWHERE else has become. Keep this gem alive please :)
We decided to try this place because it was close by and wanted to try something new while in LA and it did NOT disappoint. Aside from the great food and amazing prices, the service was incredible ! The sushi tasted amazing for the price, the atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and quiet (we probably came during downtime which was perfect for us), the food came out at a reasonable time, and the head chef himself came out to talk to us and bring us food and desserts. Everything about our experience was amazing and we will definitely be coming back ! Our personal favorite was the Golden Roll, which we ordered multiple times but everything else was just as delicious. If i could rate 6 out of 5 stars, I would ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Such a chill spot great for quiet night out. Sushi was so great , fresh and delicious. Our waiter made the best drinks and was super pleasant.
I was pleasantly surprised with this sushi restaurant. It's a more casual dining concept from the owners of Sushi Roku and Katana. The decor is simple, modern, and located on a corner with a small parking lot. The sushi was fresh and the rolls had additional toppings like jalapeño and fried shallots that enhances the flavors very well. I also love that the sets include edamame and a salad that helps get my veggie fix in. The servers were helpful explaining the menu and were quick to get our orders. It would be a great place for a quick sushi lunch when you're in the area!
Amazing fresh sushi and service. I'm not a fan of sushi with mayonnaise and sauces (like the spicy tunas, California rolls, etc) so my only option was the yellow tail with onions. Really delicious! We ordered the Yakumi plus and a basic one to share for two. Their cucumber salad and seaweed are highly recommended. Not too sweet. Good quality wasabi that doesn't seem to contain fake colors that make it fluorescent haha. No glutamate after taste.
My daughter treated me there for Father's Day, and it was great! The "light" lunch was delicious, and just right. I got a discount on my drink, plus a free dessert. Good food, nice ambiance, and very attentive service. Definitely going back
It was a small family and friends reunion. For each of us it was the first time at this restaurant. We each Love Sushi and had wonderful things to eat and share! Mochi dessert was delightful too!
We were set to visit Aulds' fish & chip shop last weekend (Sunday 28th), visiting from out of town but didn't know it was street parking only & Yakumi our surprise stop on the way, saved our day. We bought a Sushi box and they offered parking for us to run over to Aulds. We are Sushi lovers, so it was a great day. The 1st box had 2 rolls (We tried Salmon and Spicy Tuna) It was very fresh & delicious with their fresh seaweed salad and edamame and 5 pieces of sashimi and just L♡ved the soy truffle & ponzu sauce. So good ! My Family had me running back to get another box. Thankyou Yakumi, we will never forget your hospitality. I don't recall the managers' name but his big smile & welcome, easy going personality, made our day!!!
Relaxed, Simple and delicious. Sunset and Yukami rolls are amazing! Great happy hour.
Great new casual sushi place. The rice is cooked perfectly and the fish fresh. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. I went in their first week open and am attaching a picture of their "classic yakumi" dish with side salad for ~23 before tax/tip. I wouldn't call it affordable but it's worth the price. There are 4 "dishes" to choose from which essentially differ only in size but not variety. There are a handful of a la carte rolls but not nearly as big of a menu as a traditional sushi spot. But everything is delicious, especially the baked crab rolls (warm gooey deliciousness).
Was in the neighborhood craving sushi and came across this establishment via maps search. exceeded expectations! It was happy hour so rolls were 20% and great cocktails $5. Baked crab and crunchy roll, cucumber salad were standouts.
Yakumi Sushi - Burbank's Bite-Sized Gem Tucked into Riverside Drive, Yakumi is the kind of fast-casual sushi spot that punches way above its weight. The Studio Roll Box was a standout--crunchy, spicy, and topped with a sauce that deserves its own fan club. I kicked things off with the off-menu Sunset Roll, which was so light and refreshing | ordered it twice. Bonus points for the cucumber and seaweed salad sides that added a crisp contrast. The vibe? Chill and welcoming, with a sleek indoor space and a patio that glows at night. Service was warm and efficient--Steven, the manager, even gave us the lowdown on specials. Pro tip: If you're on a lunch break, their "To Go" window is a lifesaver. Fresh fish, thoughtful combos, and a dash of neighborhood charm--Yakumi's got it all. I'll definitely be back, maybe next time with my camera rolling and the customer service is top notch in every way da Von and Taylin are amazing at what they do.
Fantastic experience. Cute and modern design, great for a date. Their sushi collection has unique taste particularly in combination with truffle soy sauce. The servers were nice and welcoming. They accommodated all of my requests with excellence and the entire experience was smooth.
Stumbled upon this place looking for somewhere to eat on my hour-long lunch break. Ordered the $29 Yakumi special which came with 2 rolls, sashimi, cucumber salad and edamame. Great amount of food for the price but what truly blew me away was the quality of the fish. Rivaled many well-known fancy sushi spots out in LA. Service was friendly, and when the waiter noticed I hadn’t finished my food by the end of the meal, he gave me a bag full of everything I needed to eat on the go, including a little tray for the soy sauce. The interior of the restaurant is very modern and cool. Loved the wall murals. Will definitely be back!
Had the Dinela box (prefix nigiri, 2 choice cut rolls - I got spicy salmon and yellowtail jalapeño, cucumber salad, edamame) which included a mango lychee cocktail. Service was quick, we got lucky and parked in their first space. Fast and friendly service, came out to about $30/person with tip, would definitely come back!
My favorite sushi place in the LA area. The food is always consistent and the service is always amazing. Chef Steve ,Rory and the rest of staff do a great job of being consistent. The customer service is always exceptional. The Studio box is my favorite and their drinks are good too! I always sit on the patio and the atmosphere is great. The music is not too loud. I typically come during my baby’s nap time and leave her in the stroller. Highly recommend you try this place.
2025: I returned a year later and things weren't as good. The food was still delicious but the table was sticky. The waitress was nice but she assumed I wanted to order takeout when I wanted to dine-in. 2024: I had the baked crab roll, the California roll and the salmon sushi. Everything was very good, especially the salmon sushi.
Amazing experience at Yakumi! Staff was 10/10. Very warm, friendly, and proactive. Food 9/10. Their salmon nigiri is delicious. I could eat thousands of them. They have pre-set menu options that serve as a good base order. You can also order everything a la carte. Great outdoor seating. Street parking up front. Look forward to next round! Great outdoor patio/covered open air area. Dog friendly! Second visit after some time away…still awesome. Wonderful, and warm staff! Food is delicious. There is also a 20% off happy hour on rolls. Parking is available street side, just might take a little patience. Hope to be back soon!
I recently tried takeout from a sushi spot, and it was really good! The sushi was fresh and tasty, even better than some other places like Sugarfish. I especially loved the truffle oil and spicy mayo—they gave everything a nice extra flavor. The fish was super fresh, and the rice was just right. Definitely a great spot for a casual sushi fix!
This place serves amazing sushi in a decent price. Both inside and outside seatings are super nice. Bamboo reflections just made me felt like I’m in Japan (despite the heat tho!) The COMBINATIONS are the most valuable sets judging from what you get and their price. I suggest going for Yakumi Plus to try everything, including extra rolls and edamame. Sashimi quality is very impressive. They have generous wasabi, soy sauce and ginger as companions too. Rice is seasoned to match with type of fish on the sushi - SO GOOD! Dessert is actually a MUST-TRY here. Both mochi icecream and cheesecake are just amazing. One parking tip from me is to go early. There were few spaces in front of the restaurant and you can pull right in if you go early. There are more street parking along Maple otherwise.
The sushi here is so fresh and delicious! Great quality and the presentation & packaging were so nice. I was pleasantly surprised by the baked crab rolls that you can choose for your box, it’s real crab and the flavor is so good! The box comes with everything you need, including some great sauces and a card to explain how to use them. I especially loved their truffle soy sauce, I even dipped the edamame in it!
Quick Summary Great food, ambiance and service. It offers the same concept as Sugarfish, but I think the quality, service and value were better. Highly recommend getting the crab hand roll (it was fantastic). Brian, the manager, was very helpful throughout and they present each dish, so it's like a fine dining experience for your fast/casual lunch/dinner Food- 5 stars Hanabi- this spicy tuna on crispy rice was good. An excellent appetizer and would be great for happy hour Yakumi combination- I got this sushi combination with the baked crab handroll and seaweed salad. The baked crab handroll was divine and I will be coming back for more. Seaweed salad was very solid as well (although my girlfriend's cucumber sunomono was slightly better for the salad option). The sashimi was fresh. Definitely recommend getting some extra truffle soy (it was so good!) Green tea mochi- very delicious dessert to end our lunch Service- 5 stars The service was solid throughout. Brian offered great recommendations for our orders and was fantastic with presenting our dishes. Excellent service is an understatement; he was simply fantastic Ambiance- 5 stars Outdoor and indoor dining available. We stayed indoors because it was a bit chilly, and it's a cool ambiance. Well ventilated, well lit, and mainstream music selection. Enjoyed the experience throughout Bottom Line Great food, drinks and service. The baked crab handroll is a must and try to get some truffle soy!
I've been here a few times with my daughter and my bff. This time, I came for dinner with the hubby. He loved it! The best sushi place in town and quality of the food is superb! The staff is very nice and accommodating. The owner, Nicholas, is a great guy. If he's there when you go, tell him that I sent you!

Great patio. Good food. Can get beer here. Has a nice vegan option.
Pricey and small portions on some typical items. Friendly staff, nice outdoor patio.
Good sushi, good people, but no unagi! C'mon!
Fresh fish! The sushi was amazing 👏
The sushi was really good. The takeout boxes are beautiful and very impressive. The sushi size may be a little smaller than you are used to. Service was great.
Food is incredibly fresh and the customer service is amazing. Many of my friends dine here frequently and we all truly enjoy it.
I have been experiencing this place since its opening in 2021. The options are great. I wish for more baked Sushi options. I have loved the various degrees of affordability a la carte. When it started, the café style fast casual service was great. It kept their business going and eliminated confusion between take out checkouts and dine-in ordering. It also was refreshing to see all the options and pace yourself, once again a la carte. Recently, I was disappointed that they changed their night dinner service to full dine-in service. It confuses the expectations for those us of coming to both lunch and dinner. While, at times, I have wanted support waiters (at other place) , I come to Yakumi for the refreshing fast-casual quickness. This feels disloyal to the diners who have kept the place open with their local loyalty. Switch it Back!
I think the food is really good for the price, although I feel like they should add one more piece to the crispy rice so it comes with 4 instead of 3 (mostly because they're so small). The staff is always very nice. The only reason I'm rating 4/5 stars is because the 'to-go' wait can be extremely long. If the food is going to take 40 mins, I'd much rather be told that instead of being told it will take "10 minutes" and stand around for 20 minutes. Also, a handful of times I had mistakes in my order that I didn't realize until I got home, so now I make a point to check the contents before I leave. I write this purely so management/owners can make slight improvements in this area. Otherwise, I love Yakumi!
Very similar to Sugar Fish and although they claim it to be a new concept, nothing about ordering at the counter, getting a number and choosing my own table felt new... My expectations were high because I found this place on Eater, but I found the sushi rice to be undercooked and the special roll although tasty was textually mushy and one note. Overall this place is pretty good, but needs a bit of finesse and consistency to reach 5 stars. If you're going to mimic Sugar Fish then I expect it to be at that level and it just wasn't. Note to staff: if I have to wear a mask indoors then you do to and that means keeping it over your mouth and nose when coming over to my table to introduce yourself.
Good sushi. Not cheap (in quality or price). They had no green tea on our last visit.....which is really strange for a sushi place....not that they don't carry it, they were just out. Also, their green tea is a bag of sencha. Not what I would expect for the area/price. Matcha or bust. Prices are on par with sugar fish, but the serving sizes are not. I didn't ask but I'm 99% sure there baked crab isn't real crab.
Nice corner location with an outside patio. Plenty of umbrellas for shade when you are on the patio. The sushi is flavorful and the staff is friendly and professional. Only four stars because you have order/prepay at the counter, the portions are small, plus the street parking is limited.
It's a cute place for basic sushi. Parking is not too terrible on the streets. Sushi tastes pretty good. The drinks are really good, even though they have a very limited selection. It almost feels like a pop up shop with the limited menu. Kind of on the expensive end for basic sushi.
We enjoyed our meal here very much. 😋 The food was very fresh and tasty. 🍣 The atmosphere was clean and open. We would have given it five stars but we all decided that the "order at the counter" for the price of the food wasn't our fav feature - When at higher priced restaurants, it's much nicer to have a waitress come take your order instead of standing in line at a counter.
Cold kitchen Sushi Restaurant with Friendly service. Everyone there was very nice and the restaurant was inviting and clean. There is outdoor seating available. When ordering a sushi roll, you only get about 4 pieces (small portions). I tried the baked crab, spicy tuna, and California roll. I also had edamame (cold and nearly unsalted) and a mixed green salad (I suggest requesting a little more dressing on it). The menu was small and they ran out of regular sized drinking straws so we had to use short straws with tall glasses. Despite those super small issues, the food was good, fresh and reasonably priced. The employees were pleasant and super accommodating. I’d return.
Had Yakumi at terminal three inside LAX. Loved the product and packaging. The fish was fresh and rolls good. Had multiple dipping sauces and overall good product. I would buy again.
7-1-21: Came here for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. For sushi, they organize the menu with four different combinations to make ordering easier. You get edamame, a salad and two rolls with the combo. Good drink selection. I ordered the combo with hamachi, albacore, salmon (2 pieces each) and one 🦐 nigiri. And got the cucumber salad, hamachi roll and 🦀 roll. I had a Japanese pale ale that was very good. Light and crispy. You order first and then sit down. Outdoor seating was very nice. I was surprised that the nigiri was so small and thin. The freshness was OK. These were both disappointing to me and why I didn't rate five ⭐.

The sushi is good but the miso soup is disgusting
When they first opened I was very happy w/the quality & prices & service. Now lately the quality of the sushi is going doing and the rice is tasting like the rice they have when you get grocery store sushi. Thank goodness the service is still good but honestly w/all the sushi choices in LA they need to step the sushi quality back up if they want to make it.
please get some more help. ...
Right price, good service, portions are too small, material quality was okay. Overall not bad for a quick lunch.
There are better places. Staff doesn't check in with you to ask you about liking your dishes. A bit pricey as other reviewers point out. Not the the best, not the worst.
Unfortunately, we weren't able to eat here after all. We went with our young daughter who doesn't eat too much fish. They didn't have any other protien alternatives. So, not 100% kid friendly. The restaurant was empty and no one there to greet us after about a minute or two they let us sit anywhere. It looked clean, good decor, in/outdoor seating. Covered patio.
We really wanted to love this place and the positive reviews and the fact that it was close to home had us thinking we had a great new option, but sadly it is average at best. The place is great-looking and most seating is outside. Space heaters and umbrellas definitely will be a plus for cold and sunny days respectively. Staff is friendly and the manager, Perry, was floating around to see how everyone was enjoying the concept, food and experience. The busser was really buzzing all over and cleaning tables and plates as soon as they were empty. It's an order at the register and we'll bring the food to your table experience. I'm not a huge fan of this concept because it means extra trip(s) to the register are required for additional items and I did mention that to Perry. Her pointed out a QR code on the table that allows you to order from the table, but it wasn't completely functional at the time. It didn't work for us and I did have to go to the counter for a 2nd round of beverages. Minor inconvenience, but an inconvenience just the same. The menu is a bit limited with 4 bento options and the items within the boxes available as a la carte - about half a dozen of each; fish, rolls or salads. Presentation is attractive enough the the fish was fine. Not great, but not awful. While I don't feel the prices are outrageous, they certainly don't reflect the quality. We have a couple of other places that we frequent with similar prices and much better fish. Talking to Perry, he mentioned the ownership group (Innovative Dining Group) and with that pedigree I'd expect a better quality and experience. Just really didn't work for us. We probably won't be going back, but I think it's definitely an OK option for a quick lunch in the area.
To-go service needs to be more accurate. I ordered on the website for a pick-up. I placed my order at 1pm for pick-up at 1:30 pm. I received a text stating it would be prepared by 1:35 pm at the latest. I arrived at 1:30 pm and waited until 1:50 for my food even though the link in the text said that my food was ready much earlier. Staff was generally in no hurry to serve me or offer any info on the status of my order. Others in the restaurant were also becoming impatient and asking for their dine-in orders to go because service/food was so slow/late. The food was good so I do give them points for that. My biggest complaint is simply that I ordered online to-go so that I could better plan my lunch time but instead ended up wasting the majority of that time waiting for my food.
The place is REALLY small. I got a to-go order during lunch time and the food was excellent. But staff treatment was not the best. They were not helpful asking questions, I was waiting at the entrance and no one came to check me in for solid five minutes (thus why I decided to take it to go), and even then the person that took my order was very dismissive. It’s a little expensive and has very few options, but overall the sushi is fresh. The parking is really good because there’s plenty outside.
Delicious sushi and very affordable. That said, I’m torn on the value. It feels like a 'cheap but good' setup that might be cutting corners on labor to keep prices down. I’d love to see this place succeed by valuing their employees as much as they value their ingredients.

Food took almost an hour to arrive
Sushi is decent but the boxes arent worth the money. Also the baked crab roll isnt real crab, very misleading and disgusting.
The restaurant has parking and as you enter the small modern space you order your food before being seated. The sushi was fresh but lacked presentation. The crunchy roll was literally a sushi piece with a sprinkle of crunchy something placed on top. The seaweed salad was store bought and the cucumber salad was thrown together and placed on a plate that was sectioned off for different foods. Not well made sushi and I was grateful the fish was fresh but that was it. The service was lackluster from the person who took the order at the front and the waitperson who brought our food. The sign wasn't taken..no refill of tea and overall was a mid experience.
Fish is apparently misrepresented. “Baked crab” roll in soy paper looks and tastes like imitation krab roll. The nigiri fish is sliced thinner than the cucumber in the cucumber salad. It’s a little thicker than the sliced ginger. I’m not exaggerating. At least the edamame was okay. But buyer beware!
I got food poisoning, probably from the sushi I had at Yakumi in the Los Angeles airport. I complained and they said they'd refund my payment, but they never did that, despite multiple reminders.
They served frozen fish. Messed up our order and tried to say they didn’t even when we had the receipt to prove our order. Would not recommend. They also overcharged me and wouldn’t refund the difference.
Disrespectful staff. I simply asked for tea and he brought me warm water not hot water. I told him to take the tea away and I don't want it, he looked at my quickly and then didn't take the tea nor asked what I said as if he didn't hear. He then walks away and leaves tea on my table that is bad. It was bad service and bad quality service and bad quality product. The tea is in a black mug, not a tea cup, and there's no lemon or honey offered. Just terrible service. As a burbank resident, I hope these people are stripped from their right to do business here and my community has restaurants that they deserve. This place is terrible. I recommend they close and never open in the great country we have. A shame.
I am reviewing the Yakumi that is within the LAX airport at terminal B. What a joke and a ripoff I ordered an avocado "roll" and a spicy tuna "roll.". Each "roll" consisted of four Tiny pieces (about 1 inch x .75 inch) of sushi. I estimate the total mass of the four pieces is equivalent to about one piece of a normal sized roll piece you would get at a standalone sushi restaurant. Additionally, the flavor and quality were average at best. Complete ripoff.
Food was decent, not very big menu and pretty pricy for some basic sushi that you can find anywhere. Service staff seemed a bit snooty as we ordered and throughout the whole experience
during DineLA, where the special was $25.00 (normally $29.00) and included an appetizer and two rolls. Here’s where I think they overcharged me: they ask if you want real crab because they know they usually use imitation crab. I said yes, and the only other extra I ordered was spicy tuna. Even so, my bill went from $25.00 to $45.79 before the tip. I believe they overcharged me. This was my first and last visit. If the person taking your order doesn’t even know if the food contains crab, it makes me very suspicious. As for the service, it was non-existent. I waited 1 hour and 30 minutes, and no one offered me more water or cleared the dirty dishes. I ended up eating next to the empty edamame shells the whole time.
