Banana macadamia nut and coconut pancakes were delicious. Can be loud at times
A must! This quaint little restaurant has the best breakfast food!
We were here on a Thursday morning and were seated right away. Super friendly and attentive service. I love that they left us the coffee so I could top off my mug whenever I wanted to! My boys and I ordered two mickey mouse pancakes and a ham/mushroom skillet. They all tasted amazing, but I'm pretty sure I could eat that skillet dish every morning!
Your ultimate neighborhood comfort food restaurant for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Have been coming here for 20 years - the food is very good, the service is wonderful (even when they are overflowing on the weekends with people wanting brunch) - today even, when we went, the waiter (Gabriel) remembered that last time two of us were there what we ordered (it was more than a month ago) an he asked if we wanted what we had the previous time - and it was not a straight forward order (maybe that's why he remembered it - still, very cool). The atmosphere is what it should be - a comfort food restaurant - not overly fancy but comfortable; on the weekend it does get a little crowded and there can be long waits - so for us, best during the week when they are less busy.
The best breakfast place in the whole bay area! Their pancakes are so delicious and just melt in your mouth. I personally love their chicken chicken fried steak and mushroom gravy. It’s sooo good!! Their service is also top notch, very attentive and make sure you have a great experience.
The staff were very friendly and attentive. They even left the carafe of coffee on the table, which I like! Others need to follow this practice. The food was very well prepared, and for the price, it was reasonable. If you are looking for a good breakfast before you start exploring, check this place out.
A great place while you're just taking a stroll downtown to pop in and have a nice breakfast with the family. Everyone is super nice and accommodating. The portions are a really good size. The ambiance is nothing that you would ever see in a design magazine, but it works in making it feel more homey but also giving you a classic type of feeling, very comfortable. If you like pancakes, this is the place to go. Oddly enough, I do not like pancakes and still always find a great meal to get. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
Stack's is one of the local's favorite. The food is consistently good, I love the macadamia coconut pancake and the hot link dishes. The service is amazing 👏.
PANCAKES! I realize they have other things on their menu. But, come on. Admit it. You want pancakes. Even I want pancakes and I'm desperately trying to watch my carbs due to pandemic pudge. So I gave in and indulged. Not sorry. Banana macadamia nut pancakes, you are worth it. I'm in love.
Wonderful environment, nice outdoor seating, nice location. The food was so good, fresh, hot! The server Pablo was the best. He was on top of everything and food came just as it was ordered. Clean. Nice vibe. I'd absolutely visit again! Note: Ask about items that may not be listed on menu
Excellent menu with so much variety! I need to go back regularly to try everything! I had the lumberjack pancakes with eggs, chicken apple sausages, and hash browns. Man it was a lot of food and I couldn't finish it all but that's a good thing cuz I was looking forward to have the leftovers! Service was excellent and everyone was very friendly. Highly recommend this place for sure!
My go-to breakfast spot in the area. Pancakes really live up to the name- Stacks of goodness and innovative recipes. Omelettes are perfectly cooked with nice ingredients. Food is delicious and plentiful. Service can be a bit spotty.
This place is always busy!! Service is great!!! Server kept our drinks filled. The food is delicious. Staff is friendly. You cannot be seated unless your entire party is present, posting the vehicle is no excuse. There was plenty of parking across the street on California Dr. The host, friendly and I swear, Freddie Mercury is in the house!!!
Great place for breakfast 🍳 this time we are getting together as family but is also a great place for a business breakfast. They have lattes now! We ordered the eggs Benedict and the Louis eggs 🥚 together with the breakfast basics, eggs and bagels. Excellent services! They never disappoint.
The food was delicious. They use a lot of butter and you can tell but it’s still very tasty. I had the garden crepe with egg whites, which felt very healthy (minus the butter) and made me want to come back and order it. We ordered takeout only, but it looked like a nice and safe place to eat outdoors. There was only a small handful of people eating indoors.
Stacks Burlingame hands down is ONE of the best breakfast spots near SFO Airport. The restaurant is nice, the service is excellent and the food is delicious. We all enjoyed our meals. There are several parking lots with one to two blocks, that's if you're not lucky to get a meter spot on the street. We paid $2.00 for 2 hours. The area is walkable and so nice. Awesome place.. Why did Stacks in San Francisco on Webster Street, close down?.
I came here for the crab Benedict 🦀...and it did not disappoint! I ordered with double crab and it was beyond perfection. The staff is so friendly and attentive, this has became my new favorite go to breakfast spot when Im here for business.
DELICIOUS pancakes. They promise comfort food, you get comfort food. First time round I had the Lumberjack Pancakes Long Stack (3 pancakes) and it defeated all 6ft 4in. of me 2 pancakes in. Second time I visited, I had the short stack Banana-Macadamias butter pancakes also delicious with the warmed up syrup. However, the lumberjack won out of those two. The decor is only what I can imagine a Sardinia terrace is but inside. The staff are very friendly, but the coffee is American… Nonetheless a very enjoyable experience.
What a gem of a place! I had just landed from across the country and was meeting some family who live nearby. There couldn't have been a more perfect place, with spacious seating, the friendliest staff possible and amazing food that was beyond filling. The staple breakfast items were executed so well and the inventive dishes like Savory Carnitas Pancakes and the Macadamia Coconut Pancakes were soooo drool worthy. I am excited for room to open up in my stomach so I can enjoy some leftovers.
My first time visiting. It was super busy, but we were seated promptly. Service was great and food was even better. I will be back the next time i visit!
Always love this spot. Macadamia Nut and Coconut stack pancake!! Bloody Mary so good...
Go late, no wait. Hard to find parking close to restaurant. Parking further is easier but less than 10 minutes walk Waffle chicken is fabulous. The chicken is super crispy and seasoning is tasty. The syrup on the Waffle is very good.
On a brisk Monday morning, my partner and I were looking for a quick breakfast while waiting for cere tea to open for the day. We ended up heading over to stacks for a quick bite and it did not disappoint,. It wasn’t super busy so we sat down right away and ordered the all meat omelet. After a short wait we got our food from the kitchen and it was delicious.Additionally, the vibe is very vintage and it has a real old school feel. Excellent service and classic food can never go wrong.
There are so many oprions on the menu I was having a hard time deciding on cocktails and carbs! Esly, made himself available to help me decide. I went with the Morning Rum cocktail and French toast with a side of chicken apple sausage and scrambled eggs with cheese. The food is delicious!! The cocktail was nice light juicy thing perfect for a morning pick-me-up. The food presentation was mouth watering, the staff and Elsy, specifically, was very pleasant and helpful at 9am on a Tuesday, and the decor is beautiful enough to inspire IG brunch posts. Very nice!
This place is by far one of the best breakfast/ brunch spots in the area. I made a visit here with my previous girlfriend, since we were craving for some good brunch and we were in the area. Upon arrival, their was a bit of a wait, but I did not mind since I am a very patient person. When we were called, the staffs gave us an option to dine inside or at one of their outdoor tables. We chose outdoor since it was a warm and beautiful day. Their menu consists of breakfast platters, sandwiches, shareable items, special dishes, drinks and much more. It was our first meal of the day, so we ordered basically whatever sounded good. Everything was made to order which is always a plus because freshness matters. When our food arrived, it was more than we expected and it was enough for a second meal. The staffs were welcoming, well trained and understanding which made our visit a satisfying one. I recommend this place to all breakfast lovers, if you are looking for a quick bite in the morning or if you just want to try something new. I definitely will be back to tryout the other delicious options they have to offer.
Great place for breakfast with family. My omelet was great and my wife's selection of pancakes were also excellent. The location and atmosphere were also very pleasing. For a Saturday morning we didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes but one of the best breakfast places we have visited!
This was our 2nd time coming here. We discovered it in August of 2024. And when planning the trip to San Francisco for Chinese new year we knew we had to stop here! Food was incredible!! Just as we all remembered, the service was amazing!! The staff is all so friendly! And the food OMG 🤌. I used google to check the wait time and the service called to let me know that there was no wait for 3 people. There is paid parking across the street from the restaurant and there were lots of available. If you have a bigger party there might be a lil wait but I noticed that people didn't have to wait too long. I didn't wanna tell people about this place but it deserves the recognition. It's hard to find a place with 5 stars in all things!!
There was a long line but don’t be deterred if you are only a party of 2! We got seating immediately at almost 11. All portion is huge and the crab omelette especially has fresh and plenty crab meat. The bagels are so unique to see in a brunch restaurant. Very hearty breakfast and we took home so much leftover. Beautiful, vintage, French style interior and a lively atmosphere. Food did take longer to come out.
We ordered Egg Benedict and Garden Crepe. Server offered to replace ham with avocados when asked for no ham. Both were delicious. Excellent ambience! Decent wait times (around 10-15 mins). The restaurant tends to get busy so you might have to ask for things multiple times. Otherwise great service, friendly staff.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting an absolutely delightful brunch spot, which I just have to share my experience about. From the moment I stepped into this charming establishment, I was immediately struck by the exquisite store decor. The cozy interior was adorned with a plethora of Christmas-themed decorations, creating a warm and inviting ambiance that made me feel right at home. The service at this brunch haven was nothing short of exceptional. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating to our needs. We were promptly seated upon arrival, and our orders were taken efficiently without any unnecessary delays. Much to our delight, our food arrived in no time at all, allowing us to dive into our scrumptious meals without having to wait too long. Speaking of the food, I must say that the dishes I indulged in were simply divine. I treated myself to the Jitter Bug—a smoothie with a delightful espresso twist—, the mouthwatering Huevos Rancheros, and a heavenly Chocolate Chip Waffle. The portion sizes were more than generous, ensuring that every bite was as satisfying as the last. Each dish was cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor and tantalizing my taste buds in the best possible way. It's worth noting that the pricing at this brunch gem is a tad on the higher side. However, considering the impeccable quality of the food, the attentive service, and the enchanting atmosphere, I firmly believe that every penny spent here is absolutely worth it. You're not just paying for a meal; you're paying for a memorable culinary experience that will leave you craving more. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend this delightful brunch spot to anyone seeking a delicious and satisfying meal in a cozy and enchanting environment. I can confidently say that I will be returning to this wonderful place in the near future, eager to try even more of their delectable dishes. Don't hesitate to pay them a visit; you won't be disappointed!

Every time I am in CA, I must eat breakfast at Stacks. It is delicious and the choices are endless. I haven't had a bad breakfast ever.
Belgian waffle with pecan banana was good, not "knock your socks off". Slightly crispy, very light, but no "malty" flavor. Pecans we're good, though concentrated in the middle, and finely chopped. Banana was perfect, as I asked for one that was nice and ripe (soft & sweet). The syrup was clearly commercial food service pancake syrup, not real maple. Taste was meh. Overall 4* for the waffle. Over easy eggs were cooked perfectly. Latte was meh. Was a bit milky, not great flavor, but better than drip (i.e. dishwasher) coffee. 3*
This review is for the Burlingame - road construction around it hence parking is a problem. The service is questionable, the waiter didn't bother to remove all extra utensils/placement in our table (we were 2 for 4 people!). My husband had a Greek salad it was ok. I had the Louie Benedict it had a good portion of crab and would order it again.
Awesome Crab Omelette but so are the pancakes. All the portions are generous and service is usually great. They also give you a pot of coffee. Currently there is construction going on out front but noise is very minimal. Parking not a problem. Normally during the week we get seated right away. And on the weekends it starts to gets busy by 9am.
The location is really good. We finally had brunch here after seeing this place while driving by. The outdoor seating is good. We had frittata and a chicken crepe. My husband said crepe was good he liked it. Veg Frittata was okay too. The bagel was bad which came with frittata.Blueberry pancake was great. I think for the quality of food it’s but overpriced. The orange juice I got was little bit bitter. May be the seeds were crushed in by mistake. Service is okay, on Sunday noon it took more than 20 minutes to get our orders.
The service was superb! Coffee nice and hot. Fresh strawberries were lovely. Now for the 4 star review. My omelette was not as fluffy as I am use to eating. And- I have never had an omelette where the condiments are not mixed in the egg mixture. The Chile's were lined on the bottom of the plate and the onions were sprinkled on the top. Hmm. Interesting. I little disappointed they were not fresh jalapenos. The chile's had a taste of canned goods. The prices are a bit on the medium to high end, but as I stated, the service was great. Wonderful bagels! Will I go again- um, okay, yes I will. I will however, not order an omelette. I really love a fluffy omelette, not a flat one. The place has great ambiance. Nice acoustics, so conversation setting is good. I live in Texas, but I will be back. You will love the food.
The food and atmosphere here was very good! Deducted a star because the chicken in the chicken and waffles was a bit dry, but it was a great brunch with the family. I had the eggs Louie, and my son had the banana macadamia nut pancake. Huge portions with lots of butter.
This was our second time visiting Stacks. The first time we sat on the patio, loved the food, and loved our experience. The second time we sat inside and it was a little bit chaotic. This place is POPULAR so be ready for a crowd, lots of noise, and lots of people. The staff were SERIOUS about their service. They were hustling to get as many people seated, tables cleaned, and food served. They were crushing it. As the name implies, pancakes are a MUST. I recommend the patio as it’s a little more private than sitting in the main dining room.
Solid breakfast spot, nice environment and decent service. The menu also has a wide variety of dishes! My crepe was served cold, which they said was because it had a yogurt topping, but I think it would have tasted a lot better if the crepe was served warm and fresh. The fruit was super good regardless! The coffee was also great. I subbed my potatoes for salad since I rarely eat all of my breakfast potatoes, but the salad was super gross. All of it tasted like onion water, even though there were no onions in the salad.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and the wait was about 10 minutes! Good: - The portion sizes are huge! I had to take part of it home with me. - The bagel with cream cheese that came with my omelette was great. - The inside is so pretty! I loved the decorations - The price is okay for brunch - a bit on the higher end. Bad: - The omelet tasted pretty weird - I think it was the cheese or something a bit sourer than I liked - The cottage cheese substitution that I did also was a little sour Overall this place was an okay brunch place, but I wouldn't come again.
Today, I had steak and eggs! It wasn't bad; the steak was cooked just the way I like it, and the eggs were prepared as I requested. Of course, my server was friendly! But I'm wondering if the person in tight pants with tattoos on their arms, who was watching the host, is the owner? If so, a little more smiling would be appreciated! Anyway, I enjoyed the meal, but I think it's impossible to feel that "OKjeon" vibe anymore...
First time visiting this place. The inside smells like old carpet..Food was so so. Omelette was OK but crepe was kind of hard and overcooked. I had a splash accident with the ketchup. When I opened it, it splashed all over my sweater, leather bag and even chairs. It seems like someone had shaked a soda can. I got a wet towel from one of the waiters and I was able to clean up my black sweater. However, my leather bag got a stain. A guy walked to my table (I guess the manager) and offered to pay for a dry cleaning bill, however an adjustment to my bill would've been better. I drove 30 minutes to try this new place... I wouldn't go back again 🤔
Spacious . Nice booths and tables . Clean bathrooms. Great service . Food was disappointing. Average in appearance and taste but good portions. Pricey w people 2 meals 2 coffees 62.00. ! ???
Cute place for brunch with cozy decor, service was friendly and attentive. I got the crab and avocado crepe and my partner got the Spanish omelette, both recommended as popular dishes by the waiter. The food was fine but not incredibly flavorful. For both dishes avocado was cooked in the omelette becoming a hot mush. Maybe some like it that way but I haven’t seen it before. We’d go back because it was a cute spot but maybe try a different dish.
Older restaurant, went for brunch, it packed inside we felt like we were sitting on top of each other, the people sitting behind me was so close out chair hit each other and our back would touch of each of us shifted backwards abit. Food came out quite quickly , it was mediocre, fitata and hash browns was kind of flavourless. The hashbrown had a weird taste, like old potato hard to describe. The service was quick. It felt like a diner style restaurant. Things felt little over priced for the quality.
Great breakfast place with so many options to choose from. Nice Ambiente and price for value is also very good. Waiters cool and attentive, friendly and uncomplicated. Big minus is for the chef yelling so loud you could hear him during our entire visit. That is in fact very very annoying!
Overall nothing special for this place but the service and ambiance are very nice.\n\nFood is flavored ok 3/5 stars but this place is always packed, I don't see the allure, but it is a staple of Bu…

I wanted to like this place, but I did not. The food was ok to bad, and the price of everything is too high. Even if you cut the price in half, I would have a hard time rationalizing paying that much for the quality of food you get. The quantity is high, but if I dont like the food, having more of it does not make it better. There does seem to be an older crowd that is a big fan of this place. I love diners and a big breakfast, but perhaps I am just not the right audience for this particular establishment.
Was not seated even after waiting patiently alone for the other person out of 3 total... Just sit us .. especially when you have open tables .. probably won't be back
Dined in, with restrictions...must have mask on and temperature check at the front. Distances from other tables are 6ft away. DINNING was awful. They sat us close to the bathroom with a baby and 1 toddler. We could smell the urine and ammonia. The food was OK. Way Below expectations and EXPENSIVE. I ordered the salmon scramble. It came with the hash potatoes and a bagel. Cream cheese for the bagel is EXTRA COST. Which sucks!! Not enough options for my VEGETARIAN Hubby and children's menu, not many as well. There isn't much Originality for pancakes as I thought it is a Stacks "pancake" place.
We drove all the way from Los Angeles to try this place. \n\nFirst of all, there's no wait.\n\nSecond of all, there are two tables out side for 4 and 5, another table for 5. The guy told me that …
I'm giving 1star to stacks because the food isn't that great kids menu doesn't have a lot of variety i ordered the classic burger well done and the patty wasn't cook well it tested bad my kid hot dog it was cooked fr9m the outside but from inside it was cold it tasted like old hotdog what I didn't like the most was the men's bathroom it has a strong smell like pipi it smelled really bad this my second time visiting this restaurant the 1st time I didn't want to say nothing and I'm sorry to complaint but what I said is 100% true I posted the food pics😬😬😬.
An absolutely horrible experience. While the host was great and we got the table rather quickly, everything following that from service to food was horrible. We got a skillet and eggs Benedict. The benedict had a hair in it, our server never even came in to check on us and I had to waive down a busser to show the hair in the food. The server never came to check with us following that to offer a sorry or substitute. When I waived her down to get the check and take off the benedict from it she said a snippy sorry. My husband didn’t feel like leaving a tip and both the food and service so far was horrible so he left a dollar tip with a note explaining the small tip. As we were ready to leave the server came back to fight with us about the tip and the comment. ABSOLUTELY UNPROFESSIONAL! She the. Went on to cross off the tip and the note form the merchant copy of the bill. This is completely illegal to do. Never going again or recommending anyone to go.
Truly gross breakfast. I had the banana pecan waffle which tasted like dirty, rancid cooking oil and—this is the most amazing part—THEY WATER DOWN THE MAPLE SYRUP. I am serious. It tasted as if somebody had dropped a teaspoon of syrup into a gallon of water. I had 2 small bites of the nasty, greasy waffle and left the rest. That must happen a lot because the waitress didn’t even ask if the was a problem. The building is cute which was the only positive aspect of the unpleasant experience.
Mother's Day brunch. I know to expect a wait and that the restaurant will be busy, we were prepared for that. After a 40-minute wait, we were seated and then waited again another 15 minutes for our order to be taken... I know they're busy. After another 30 minutes, with no communication from the waiter, I noticed tables that were sat after us receive their food. I flagged our waiter down to ask what was going on. He simply stated that it should come out soon. After another 10 minutes, we received our food. Most of it was fine, except for my omelet with the cheese already hardened from sitting there and toast that was not toasted. No check-in from our waiter at all, so I waived him down again when everyone was done eating. Told him about my omelet, and I was ready to leave. On our way out, I let the manager know about the bad experience, and he apparently did not want to hear about it and did not care whatsoever. His response was, "That's a 30-year employee." I'm not sure what that means, but his 30-year employee was not at his best today, and the manager was bad at receiving criticism. I've been coming here for years, and it's usually been good, but this type of reaction is horrible. In addition, as I walked away, the manager turned to his other employee and stated, "Another guy that just wants to complain about everything." Great reaction and shows what a terrible manager this is. I suppose he feels everything is perfect and there is no room for improvement. There's too many other choices for food for and great service out there... this will not be on my list.
After 25+ years of patronage, today I was insulted, abashed, and beyond disappointed. WHEN YOU READ A BAD REVIEW, BELIEVE IT. Stale tortillas, canned & rancid salsa, and undercooked cheese; the restaurant’s manager is a disgrace. He should not be in leadership. His response to my request “if you want better tasting Mexican, this is not the place”, and “we have no other complaints”, and “the people around here don’t know the difference”. Owner GEOFFREY SWENSON, PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: When I asked him for the bill of just my coffee, and pointed out that at any restaurant in the Bay Area, no matter what the venue, you will find the south of border dishes to be excellent. He kept interrupting me, and even raised his voice; tables nearby began turning their heads and he was loud enough to attract the attention from the kitchen staff and other waiters. Disgraceful and very sad to see my favorite family & High School breakfast spot has fallen to the pits of a bad manager. Keep in mind, I’m almost 50 years old, so my review is with experience at this restaurant.
I've been going to this Stacks in Burlingame for over 25 years since the 90s. Overall my experience there has been good. HOWEVER, my wife and I went there this past weekend 01/04/2026, when it was raining and cold outside and were extremely disappointed and saddened by how this place changed. We were served by a waiter named Alfredo whom we asked for hot water. When we got our bill after eating I just paid it like normal. Then my wife looked at the receipt after I paid and noted that we were charged for ordering hot water!!! When my wife asked our waiter about it he was extremely rude and said ask the owner and walked away. Please note, I can afford whatever we eat or drink anywhere but it is the principle that is important. If you are going to charge me for water let me know so I can decide whether it is worth it. Also we ordered banana wheat germ pancakes and it was so inferior compared to before. The amount of wheat germ was significantly less and you can barely taste the banana or the toasted wheat germ. We also got chicken apple sausages and they have gotten so much smaller and do not taste as good as before. We are telling all our family, friends, clients, business contacts, community members to avoid this place. Who wants to pay high prices for inferior food and be served by rude people?
