Exactly as described. There’s a guy with tamale pots out front of Milano only two blocks off the marina area. The chicken tamales are so good and worth the mini adventure. Felt super safe getting there and went back a couple times.

This guy here sells very delicious tamales outside the Milano store. My wife and I came by and shared four tamales between us - we ordered it to go and brought it back to our hostel to eat. There were only pollo (chicken) and cheese (queso) ones left when we arrived, but I understand there are other flavours on offer too, e.g. puerco (pork) and beef (res). I preferred the chicken one (which was wrapped in banana leaves) while my wife preferred the cheese one (wrapped in corn husk). We paid 30 MXN for each tamale.

He sells tamales from 2 giant pots, one filled with tamales wrapped in banana leaves and the other in corn husks. The ones cooked in banana leaves are more moist. I wish I could’ve eaten more. I tried a banana leaf one and it was the best tamale I’ve ever had. It was so delicious that I’ve been craving another days later.

Best tamales I've ever tasted. Gave 5 stars for atmosphere but keep in mind, it's street food. You can't really change the atmosphere of street food. Grab and go perfection. I got the cactus. My husband got the chicken. Chicken was the better of the two, but they were both so so good.

Best Tamales in the world hands down. Starts selling around 5:30 every evening, but get there at 5:15 as the line gets long quick with locals. Tamales are large - 2 is more than enough for a big appetite but you’ll want to get extra for later. 4 tamales cost me $7. The cheese tamale (with poblano pepper) is the bomb!

This literally is a guy selling amazing tamales from a big pot on the sidewalk. You can eat 2 and be full, but get 3 or 4. They’re the best tamales that I’ve ever had. They’re traditional Mexican tamales, but the masa is extremely moist, almost like ones made in a banana leaf. Absolutely loved them.

Delicious! We got the last one at 9pm! He obviously had a busy evening selling them. He will start at 5:30 and finish when they are all gone. He said sometimes this could be 10pm / 11pm but it varies. The texture was moist and the flavour was really tasty! $25 for the one we bought. 😍

I was lucky to come across this guy! A not too long line, but it will take long! Seems like people tend to buy a bunch and takes the guy a lot if time to count the tamales and also putting them into bags lol. But it's worth the wait. It was really good. He had three big pot filled with steamy tamales. I got it around 6pm and I looked into the pots they were at least half way gone.

The guy who sells tamales IN THE MORNING is good too. Go and try it! Add to your order an Atole (a Mexican drink). Tamales rules the world. Then if you have the opportunity try Oaxaca tamales. The best of the best!!!
