Cool places kinda hidden. Stopped by after a day in legoland. Kids welcome (they got a kid menu). The ordering system is different but it’s the need for more signage or directions as what to do would help. Staff were all absolutely wonderful! Would return for those poke nachos!!! The calamari not so much. An the 90s music was epic AF. Please enjoy my pic of the poke nachos.
Dog friendly! We brought our dog here for a quick lunch before we went to a nearby dog park. Food was very good and the service was very good. The staff were all so nice to our pup as well.
I went here this past Wednesday (21 May). I had three very good beers, and of course I ordered the fish n chips, as ones does when you love fish n chips. I was quite pleased by the quality of the meal and rate it a satisfactory 7.5/10. Unfortunately, the presentation was a mixed bag. Instead of a bottle of vinegar, they served it with a little packet of vinegar, so if you really like vinegar on your fish and the fries, you have to be sparse with it. Additionally, there was only enough tartar sauce for a small bit on each bite. The tartar to fish ratio could be improved with another 1-1.5 tbsp of sauce. On the bright side, they had not one but two slices of lemon that were very juicy and provided more than enough lemon to properly douse your fish with. The fish itself was nice and crispy, with a well finished breading. The biggest sin this fish committed was that the batter had bubbled, so the fish looked much larger than it actually was. Some of my bites were into hollow cavities where there was no fish to be found. Otherwise, the fish was slightly tough but broke apart easily and was light on the tongue. Overall, a good fish n chips that could be a little better through some presentation issues and a bit more tender fish.
Beer is great, food is even better!! Staff are friendly and know about the menu and beverages. I highly recommend.
Karla Strauss never disappoints. Great good. Clean restaurant/brewery. Favorite brewery ever.
Oh dear 8lb 6 oz baby Jesus! The absolute BEST food I've had in awhile!! We got the sausage, Brussel sprout appetizer and fries appetizer. SOOOO amazing!! I ordered chicken tacos and they accidentally gave me fish tacos but corrected order without a fuss! Coming back!!!!!
I love this place. Their 25th Anniv beer may be the best beer I have ever tasted in my <redacted > years of drinking beer or 25+ brewing my own. I was called back to Carlsbad and the first stop was KS where I ordered a flight of; Boat Shies, Wreck Alley, 1-800 Tropics and Bees Die) and the Sausage plate. These alone made the unexpected return bearable. Don, Such A Fan
4.5 out of 5 THE GOOD ◦ Staff is nice and he|pful Pretzel and the cheese were EXCELLENT ⁃ Been tired of seized up cheese dips. These were nice and creamy with great flavor! o Overall the food was delicious o Beers tasted really good. - The cherry cola seltzer was shockingly good. - Really enjoyed the Boysenberry IPA THE BAD The table felt sticky. Not because it was dirty but because the finish. ◦ (not a big deal) Waitress accidentally took the wrong order, brought a chicken bowl instead of a chicken taco. - BUT they comped it and my wife's stomach probably ended up thanking her anyways hahah. ◦ Flight needs to be brought another way. Mine was spilled all over the tray. ◦ No games for the kids like some breweries THE UGLY ◦ Nothing
Love Karl Strauss. Excellent beer. Very friendly staff.
Amazing food every time we come here! I get the Mac and Cheese on tap every time and it’s always amazing. Just a heads up - you order at the front then seat yourself; and you can order from your phone via a QR code once you pick a table. Always works well and is smoothly convenient for us, but just wanted to make everyone aware!
Wonderful as always. You can count on a good meal and a good time whenever you visit Karl Strauss Brewery. This place has been a long time standing MUST DO experience for anyone visiting San Diego. The beautiful drive in Carlsbad is enticing and upon arriving you have the chance to view the gorgeous Palisades Resort opposite to the Legoland California Adventure park. If you happen to be enjoying a Legoland vacation, make sure you mamas and papa stop by Karl Strauss Brewery for a convenient, and comfortable dining experience. Wander around the outdoor seating area, lounge in one of their colorful Adirondack chairs or sit by the high top table fire pit while you throw back a bottle or glass of that icy cold small batch craft beer. Only here in sunny SoCal, where the off shore sea breeze meets the miso glazed ahi poke bowls can you expect this kind of joy, relaxation, and wonderful uplifting atmosphere.
We came with our family of 8 after a day at Legoland and walked right over, perfect spot for both kids and adults. The beers were great and delicious, and every plate we ordered was on point. We started with asada fries, poke nachos, and Brussels sprouts, then had the Caesar salmon salad, chicken sandwich, and food truck burger for our mains. The star of the night and highly recommended is the Piggy Bank Mac n Cheese absolutely the best! Great atmosphere, friendly service, and a perfect ending to our day.
Flavors are on point. The food is great and good brew. What else can you ask for? I ordered the fiery salmon with Brussel sprouts and sausage. The beer cheddar bratwurst was my favorite! The Mac n cheese is a must order from this place, and the steak is very well seasoned . Even though it was a delivery, the cook on the steak was still at medium rare. I highly recommend this place.
Service wasextremely friendly and beer and food came out super fast. Younger service.people who did a great job; even when busy. Food was excellent.
Two words: TRUFFLE FRIES 🍟 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 Very good food 🍔🍟, love the beer selection 🍺 staff was friendly, clean establishment. We sat inside for lunch. I hate that you have to use a QR code and even order your food/ drinks online and pay for your meal, and than they will deliver it to your table. 🤔😐 (i understand because of COVID , but how are the employees going to make good tips 💵 if they aren’t providing service) 🤷🏼♀️
This is a nice addition to San Marcos! The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming, Oscar helped me pick out the perfect beer to chill outside with. the open seating makes it a great hub for beer and food enjoyers alike. There was plenty of people there for a Wednesday too, it’s in the perfect spot honestly. Haven’t tried the food yet but I will update the review when I try the tacos, I hear that they are really good 🙌
We ate here three times during our stay at the resort. Great food, excellent service, and the happy hour can't be beat for value.
Okay, allow me to break it down for you. Let's talk about location first. This place is situated in a place that is accessible to the freeway. Near Lego Land and the Outlet. There's also strawberry picking nearby, lagoon and the dealership. So either you are here for business or leisure, this place is right in the middle of everything so this is perfect. Now let's talk about the food, that for a brewery it's really good. However I must say that there's a missing x factor in it though. I can't tell what it is but there's something missing in it. I am not saying it's bad but for a restaurant in Carlsbad there's something that I can't identify. Either it's too much flavor or something. You know that feeling when someone asks you how's your food... When the food is really good, you go and say it with your pressing eyes and say "Bro... It's really good." However with the food here, when someone asks me, it'll be just "it's good!!" Again not saying it's bad and I am also not saying it's average. It's better than average.... I am not saying it's super delicious. It's between good and super delicious, if that makes sense. Therefore I will give it a 4. If there is 4.8 here in Google that's what I'd put it, because I don't want everyone in Karl Strauss to think that I do not appreciate the yumminess of their delicacies here. Now, if we are talking about purely service like people that work here. I am gonna give 120% that these people are amazing. They are great! They make you feel welcome and cared for. They even tend to my Dog.. This is his favorite restaurant by far. We will definitely come back
Karl Strauss has absolutely figured out post-pandemic dining with a great outdoor ordering prices, serious attention to cleaning, and they've still maintained their delicious food and environment. This is an excellent place to grab dinner after a day at Legoland or after a visit to the Flower Fields as it's less than a 2 minute drive. Very family friendly with a perfect kids menu that has all of the favorites nicely prepared. Adults can enjoy both excellent food, with something appealing for everyone and a great selection of beers on tap.
Food was great. Got seated for a party of 10 on a Saturday night in. 20 min. Kinda different in the fact you don’t have a waiter. You order everything from your phone using a QR code on the table. You prepay for you food and tip. Waiters then bring food to your table, if you want a refill any of the waiters will refill drink but you gotta flag them down. Not having a waiter does not make you feel rushed and our party stay for two hours and no one hurried us to leave. The food was great, and ice tea was good! Kid meals run about $10 drink is extra.
Excellent beer and excellent food! Super close to the flower fields so we stopped for lunch. The food was great, I had the buffalo chicken sandwich, wife had the fish tacos, and kiddos shared a cheeseburger. The beer was great! The fire table outside was nice to help survive the moon-like temperatures of San Diego where it is molten hot in the sun and freezing in the shade.
We popped in here after visiting the outlet mall. Our server, Sophie, was happy to provide my friend tasters of many diffe8beers so she could find one she really liked. Service was great and the burgers were good.
Did not have too much expectations as we picked the place for conveniency purposes (close to where we stayed). We were pleasantly surprised as the service was great, the food was very good as well as the beer. Would go back there.
Maui tacos were the best I’ve had - great flavors that really worked together while still tasting the fish. Had to try the Cali mud slide for dessert and it did not disappoint. Came on Thanksgiving and all the staff was very nice and helpful. Will definitely return for other great foods
Our recent meal was not dining in. Gabbi quickly took my phone order. She was very helpful. We enjoyed their mesquite chicken sandwich, which came with fries. They do have an upbeat casual vibe for dining. Thank you to Gabbi. We’ll try again on our next trip.
After a long rainy day of parenting at Legoland we found ourselves at the brewery. I'm so glad we had Luna as our waitress because she provided some of the best service I have ever had at any other restaurant. As an out of towner we will be back for some good food, good beer, and hopefully some of the best service from Luna.
I would highly recommend this for dinner and drinks or just dinner. Pretty basic menu with a good selection of liquor and beer. The service is quick because you have the option of ordering from a table or at the counter. Big parking lot so it’s very convenient to get in and out of. There is a lot of outdoor seating with heaters which is a nice amenity.
Good food, good brews, and a good vibe. Our server was very friendly and on top of taking care of us. Food took a little while to come out but the place was very busy so that made sense.
Me and my girl went there last night around 6:30pm, expected it to be busy since it was dinner time. That being said it was, but the host sat us fast and our server Javier was amazing fast, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu and food pariring. The grass fed burger was delicious juicy and had a nice spicy kick to it which I love. The truffle fries were amazing and boat shoes a hazy IPA was delicious. Overall my experience was phenomenal. Thank you guys. Will return again.
Great food, friendly staff and great environment. My only complaint is that the music is a bit loud. Everything else was awesome.
Great food and great beer. If you're staying at the hotel with kids, don't be afraid to eat here. There were multiple families eating here. The food isn't cheap, but the servings are generous. I enjoyed a flight of IPAs with dinner and bought a 6 pack to take back to the room. Great experience.
Excellent all the way around. We enjoyed our meal here and the beers were great as well. Highly recommend doing a flight to try some different beers. They also offered us samples if we wanted to try before settling on a beer. The mahi tacos had a ton of flavor and were fantastic. My wife had The Norm mac and cheese and said it was some of the best she's had.
We’re staying at the resort across the parking lot from Karl’s and a resort said they had really good food. They also told us we had to try the mac & cheese, which we did. I can see why their mac & cheese is award-winning As an appetizer we had the duck fat pretzel bites, which were amazing and even better with the beer, cheese sauce. We had a very friendly greeting in our server was fantastic. His name was Marco. I had the. The ribeye my wife had the avocado turkey burger both were delicious. Of course, while they had to try out their beer, which is fantastic too. I would come back again to try a couple other things on the menu.
I loved the environment here. Good music great employees and some very good beer. Plus the food was awesome. I sat at the bar and the bartender was attentive. Helped me find my perfect beer by giving suggestions and letting me try some samples. This was a perfect place for me to come sit back eat and enjoy some good beer after work. Stays very busy for good reason!
I'm glad we gave this place a try. It was a great experience. All the food we had was wonderful. The beers were good. Prices were reasonable for portion sizes, at least as far as California goes. Noemi was a wonderful server - she gave great recommendations, was attentive without being interruptive, and never made any requests feel like a burden. She well deserved the extra tip. The music was not too loud or distracting. Didn't try the dessert as they were priced a little too high, but were intriguing options.
We had a large party of 11 people including children ages ranging from 15 to 4. We were greeted and they were very polite. The waitress named Beth was absolutely an angel!! Very nice, very hospitable and her attitude was amazing, very helpful and nice and ready to help and get us our food after a long day at Legoland!!! Beth not only knew what she was doing, she knew what was needed before we asked!! Always smiling along with all the other employees i saw. Loved it and will definitely come back and recommend to anyone!! Let me tell you about the food everything was delicious from the fish and chips to the burgers AMAZING GREAT TASTE AND PRICE!! LARGE PORTIONS AND GREAT SERVICE!!?? WHY GO ANYWHERE ELSE!! thank you Beth for being patient with our kids and the whole hungry mob we brought to you lol
Great house brewed craft ales, I especially enjoyed the Red Trolley ale, had it at every visit😍, and the Winter ale. I also love the location. It was on the same compound as the resort I stayed at, so just a few steps away😊. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious, the pub burger, calamari and shrimp to name a few
Nice place. Sat on the patio to enjoy the weather. Service was a bit slow at first but improved while we were there. Server was super friendly and personable. Food was awesome. And the prices were more than fair. Birria french dip was amazing and the sausage plate was so good. Tried a sausage plate at another place and there was no comparison. Beer was great too and a good selection on top of it. Highly recommend.
So many choices for all palettes. Definitely worth paying the couple dollars extra to keep the mug 🤩 Food was also good just wish they had kid menus or the coloring menus for kids. Especially since they are so close to Legoland and we saw so many kids, it would make sense. But overall we enjoyed ourselves.
Came for happy hour which featured $6 drafts and $10 appetizers. Ordered wings and asada fries for the appetizers. We had ordered another appetizer which never came, so we had that taken off the bill at the end (no worries). Also got a Food Truck Burger and a Birria Beef Dip. Burger was okay, but it got soggy fast. Beef Dip was awesome. The Asada Fries were very good, as were the wings. And of course, the beer is always the shining star. Service was great. We sat on the "back" patio (there is a front patio as well, less shaded). We really like the vibe of this restaurant. It's a safe bet whenever you need a quick happy hour spot. Definitely worth checking out. Oh, sign up for Club Karl and get a free appetizer on your next visit.
My parents were staying at the Grand Pacific Palisades resort and I went there once with them for dinner and another day for happy hour. Everything during both visits was great! For dinner we had the Crispy Brussel Sprouts as an appetizer, the Mahi Tacos, the Mesquite Chicken sandwich, and the Food Truck Burger. They were all so good that we went back to HH later in the week, where most apps were $10 and the Karl Strauss beers were $6. At HH we tried the Hummus plate, Buffalo wings, Carne Asada fries and Pizza rolls (not on HH special). All were good, but the Hummus was our favorite.
It was a fun atmosphere and they were accommodating to family groups. They had large tables and a great indoor and open air patio seating. I’ll have to leave the beer reviews to someone else, but the food sections were creative and tasty. We tried appetizers, salads, fish, and kids meals. I especially liked the generous avocados on some of the dishes, and spicy toppings on most of the entrees.
We celebrated 2 birthdays last-night. It was very busy. Renee was our waitress, and she was wonderful! Food was great. we will definitely be back.

Beers were really good! The food was okay, but nothing to write home about. Staff were super friendly!
Good was very good as were the beverages. Ordering is done all online with a virtual tab. So not much on the service side. We had a large group and they did well to get the food and drinks out.
Brat plate was super. Beer flight was fun! Our server worked hard and fast. Super fun spot. Little loud at times.
The food was great, a very diverse menu. On the pricier side, to be expected from a nice restaurant in this area. The service was great, was busy so I can understand they might've been stretched thin. A comfortable place to stop and a great experience overall.
Brat plate was good. Sausages a little small, but sweet potato fries were yummy. Beer flight was super: blonde, Karlito's Mexican and Irish Red. Our server worked tirelessly with a smile.
Our food was so good I can’t wait to go back and try other things off their menu. It was probably the first time in a while that I’ve eaten somewhere and can’t wait to go back. However I did take one star off since our waitress was not attentive at all.
Pleasantly surprised by the food quality! Primarily a brewery, their small menu really rocks! I had the fish and chips, which at first glance looked like frozen patties from a local grocery, but were fresh and flavorful from the first but. Would get them again. Then there is thier slaw, which I could eat by the bucket! Its chunky and sweet, and perfectly paired with the fish. I also ordered the beer pretzels and the sweet horseradish sauce that came with it was a-number-one! Others at the table tried the grass-fed Burger and the ribeye. Both looked incredibly delicious and by the time we left, their plates were clean and they were highly satisfied. I also sampled a number of their beers in flights. I can't say I had a bad one in the bunch. I highly recommend "Frank the Dank" and "Aurora Hoppyallis" as two of the more tasty beers. I'm only taking away a star because of the 30 minutes we had to wait for a table. Once inside, it appeared to us that at least two-thirds of the tables in the restaurant unoccupied. It seemed to us as though there was no reason to put us on hold for 30 minutes other than to sell us beer and make us wait. That said, I would go there again for the food and the beer , knowing I am probably going to have to wait for no reason to eventually get it.
I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a steak that truly delivered on both flavor and quality. Cooked to perfection, the steak had a beautifully seared crust on the outside while remaining juicy and tender on the inside. The seasoning was spot on—simple yet effective, letting the natural richness of the beef shine through. I would definitely recommend it!
Had a great meal here. Plenty of free parking. A ton of TVs, surprised they didn’t have audio on for the One game everyone was watching but the music selection was good. Comfortable seating. Tables are thick and big, you don’t feel crushed at a small table trying to fit all your plates and drinks. Bar area looked great and lively. Mediterranean salad was SOOOO GOOD. A few things I’d change: is adding some healthier kid meal Options (chkn noodle soup, chicken and rice) basically something not fried. Dessert options were limited and nothing sounded great to me.
Good selection of beers overall, although I would have expected a bit more variety and experimentation from a brewery of this reputation. That said, the service was excellent — attentive, friendly, and professional — and the atmosphere was equally pleasant and well maintained. A nice place to spend time, even if the beer offering didn’t fully meet my expectations.
San Diego’s original great brewery which has expanded to multiple locations around the area. Excellent beer selection and food is above average for a brewery pub. It might be a little difficult to find for the first timer since it’s a bit tucked in at the resort next door. When you walk in, the bar area is to the right and the dinning area to the left. There is outdoor patio area as well. The picture is $20 Karl Strauss burger deal which comes with a pint of beer, great deal🍺 4.1/5 ⭐️
Logan was awesome, super friendly and casual, funny, and in the spirit of the season (great sweater). We made it in about an hour before closing on a Wednesday, service was tip top on it! Logan gave good insights into drinks and food -flavors, strength, etc. Food was all very well flavored/seasoned and good portions.
This location has a pub vibe rather than the outdoor brewery vibe. We were seated immediately. Our server was nice. We ordered the fried shrimp, the piggy bank Mac and cheese, the pork chops. For drinks, I got the Chai me a River as a trial and I loved it so now that's what I have at every Karl Strauss. The food was good. Their Mac and cheese is quite well-known and rightfully so - creamy, cheesy and melts in the mouth. The bacon, ham and sausage were great additions to the palate. The fried shrimp was fantastic! The spicy mayo with it gave a lot of depth to the shrimp itself. The pork chops were also great but the star of that dish was the firecracker/spicy mustard sauce. Absolutely delicious and if I could just get that sauce to add to all my food, I would. You can sit for as long as you want, no questions asked. The pricing is on par with the other KS locations. They have a parking lot and street parking in the area.
Relaxing pub atmosphere with better than expected pub fare. We had Pub Burger, Fish n Chips, Cotija Turkey Burger and sweet potato fries, and organic side salad. Both burgers a bit over cooked, but still tasty. Nice variety of greens and fresh adds to the salad. Service was excellent and we felt well taken care of without service being intrusive. Honestly food wasn’t the greatest considering the cost, but still we enjoyed our evening. Easy to make reservations (and change if necessary) through the website. Good KS beer choices. New non-alcoholic Red Trolly was a bit void of good malty flavors but still drinkable as an alternative choice. Two nice areas for outdoor dining (dog friendly!), and inside is spacious and open with large comfy booths. PS- another reviewer mentioned a surcharge had been added to their bill. There was NO surcharged added to our bill last night (2/24/2024).

Visiting Carlsbad and wanting a good burger. Well, decided to try this place. Upon entry, very loud and had to wait for a host/hostess about 5 minute to be greeted. There were many unoccupied tables and plenty of space in the bar area. Unfortunately, I had to wait about 10 minutes for a table/booth. Host/hostess & wait staff were obviously responsible for clearing/cleaning tables....clearly under staffed. The waiter took the order and recommended beer.....he's was GREAT. Unfortunate #2, the food did not arrive as ordered, missing parts to the burger & fries were under cooked, while the other sandwich was over done......opted not to send back, the cook obviously didn't read the order or care to prepare food as ordered. Quality food, prepared poorly, is a problem. As stated earlier, the wait staff was great & beer was tasty, the rest is a management issue. Good beer, marginal food for the price......drink lots of beer and you won't care how the food tastes.
Good but not great. Food was just ok for the price. Cool atmosphere and decent beers. First brewery I’ve ever been to that doesn’t have a logo sticker. And no pickles available ever? How do you have a restaurant with multiple burger options but no pickles? What the heck? Could be much better, definitely some missed opportunities.
Waits, lines, find your own table, wait in line for another round. Guard your seltzer. Had to wait outside with a pager from the start. When we were paged after waiting for 15 minutes, we were then allowed inside where you have to wait in line to order your food and drinks. That line took about 10 minutes, then we had to wait for our drinks to be poured and to be cashed out, which took another couple of minutes. Easily 30 minutes into the experience by now for the 6 of us. Once we were handed a number, we had to find a table that was free. It was busy, and there were only 2 tables left available in the restaurant. They were outside under heaters that did not work. No wonder they were available. The staff was nice and quickly put together a table for us after another 5 minutes or so, unfortunately, it was next to a door to the outside patio that was propped open. It was 42 degrees tonight. Food was good, 1 dish wasn't hot, but it came in a reasonable amount of time. I went to buy another round of drinks, that took another 10 minutes of me standing in line while my party laughed and told stories. Staff came to clear the old plates, and accidentally took one of the seltzers that I paid for thinking it was an extra water glass. He apologized, then replaced it with a sample sized drink instead of another full sized drink. We were tired of waiting in lines so we left. Food was good, experience of a very busy and higher priced Rubios. If this was my first time visiting, I might give it a better rating, however, I was used to having servers and assigned tables. I miss that Karl Strauss.
Average food, short waits at peak hours. The appetizer buffalo "wings" were boneless but mildly spiced and tasty. I loved the beer I had (Amber ale?) and for meal I had the "Hot Mess" chef special (it was so-so). I should have ordered the burger instead. I was pleasantly surprised that the waiter offered us free sample of the peanut butter porter to try!
Just ok. Food was good but service is poor. Walked in, no Host/Hostess...wait, wait, wait...someone walks up and tells us, "someone will be with you soon", wait, wait, wait. Finally a young man walks up and when we ask to be seated outside, he says they don't have any seats available... it's 12:30 pm, and there are many empty tables. I point that out as courageously as I can and he tells us he'll check, but it might be a wait...I'm literally pointing to 6 empty tables. Another employee notices this and jumps in and gets us seated outside. The whole time, service was poor, waits were long even though the place was not busy/crowded. Long wait to get drinks, order, took forever for my kid to get a soda refill. I'm assuming this place just gets a lot of out of town vacationers and hence service is poor. Won't be returning to this location.
The beers are better than most larger restaurant brew houses, but they're nothing to stand in line for. The food was not bad, but the service was fantastic! Excellent and friendly staff that was great. But I don't think we'll go back, unless it's our only convenient option.
No one came to our table for ten minutes. Even for water. I had to go politely tell the hostess. Even after apologizing the waiter had no problem just forgetting us again. The waiter was awful. He was there twice and both times forgot something. Then on his third trip he didn't say anything except "are you guys ready for to go containers". We saw a total of three waiters for one dinner and only one of them was good. Do not get a 5pm reservation it is shift change apparently. Super disappointed since the food was delicious.
Not the biggest fan. I think there are better places for beer & with a better menu than what they have here.

All the brew pub/restaurants are always the same. They stink like a brewery, the foods always mediocre, the people that work there always act bothered when you come in it's always kinda chilly and there's like 10 different sports games on 10 different t.vs scattered thru out the area
I ordered the grilled cheese and tomato soup, along with the Tropical Butter Cake. The food was good. What wasn’t good was the portion sizes. I called in and picked up the order. I got a small cup of soup that was filled up only half way. The grilled cheese was regular sized bread, so “whatever” there. I had made two orders of the cake, one for me and one for my wife. I think the sizes of these was what you would get if you ordered in. All together I paid $50 for what amounts to an appetizer of soup and average sized sandwich and dessert. Disappointing. But the food IS good and what interactions I had with the staff picking up the order was fine.
We liked Karl Strauss a bit because we love the pork chops. The refusal to make pizza rolls without mushrooms means we can't get them. \nNOW the menu change and no mashed potatoes. We DON'T want …

Total crap, loud food was Mac Donald quality kids running all over waiters not bringing food! Booths look crappy, burger bun was dry and cheap......booths were shredded (gross)
This rating is based on the service. We walked out because we could not get helped. We waited for someone to seat us then finally got seated and never received menus or any follow up. It is loud here which is typical for a brew pub. Never got to order any food so can’t properly rate it.
So I'm not really a beer drinker but it was convenient so we have it a try.i choose the red trolley and the beer tasted okay but was very flat. No head at all. Maybe it's supposed to be that way. We ordered the truffle fries and they came out cold. My wife ordered a mixed salad with skirt steak. The salad that came out was a Mediterranean salad. So back it went and it took a very long time for the correct salad to come out. When it did it was okay. All in all not a good experience
Would give 0 stars but it wasnt possible. Went into the restuarant, even had a booking. No one came to offer drinks or take our order for a meal after 30 mins of sitting there waiting. Was very disappointing. Given we are staying next door it was very convenient. We had to get up and leave with the service people telling us to have a great night. We didn't even get any food.! Will definitely not return. Sad because the menu looked decent.
