Tea Monks

We were going to see the flower bloom at Carlsbad Flower Field. It was a beautiful sunny San Diego day and we thought about making a quick stop at Tea monks in Carlsbad Premium Outlet. We ordered Strawberry Milk Tea and Fruit Smoothie to quench our thirst. It was delicious. It is a solid boba place. Must try.

I got a smoothie and customized it. The people working here are very very kind and helped me with my choice of drink! Definitely would come back :)

Great boba tea place. Fast service and clean counters. Staff is friendly and helped us pick out toppings that paired well with our drinks.

I recently was at the Carlsbad premium outlet mall and had a craving for bubble tea. I found a cute spot just conveniently located close to the parking. Staff was super friendly and was able to recommend me their favorites. Boba was soft and cooked right. I will stop by again to try more flavors and for all the dessert people they have macaron sandwiches yumm.

Last Saturday marked 15 years of togetherness for me and my wife. To celebrate the milestone, we went to the Carlsbad Premium Outlets to shop for a perfect gift. As we were walking by from the parking We came across Tea Monks conveniently located at the corner. We were all in to try green milk tea and loved how refreshing it turned out. I loved the vibe of this place with a monk mural on the wall. Try it to find your favorite drink. I will be back because a happy wife is a happy life.

Tried Taro, chai Almond and Thai tea. They were delicious, not too sweet and had good flavor. Girl at front was very friendly and even told us they can make fresh drinks if we didn't like sweetness or flavor but it wasn't needed. Plenty of drink options. It is unusual to find a such nice boba tea shop in mall setting with good friendly vibe and of course delicious drinks. Highly recommend it.

Their service was super friendly, so many options to choose from. I love their tiger boba and thai tea... it was so perfect!!! Boba was nice and perfectly cooked well... nice chew and slightly sweet. Just the way i like it... definetly coming back to try other drinks... :)

Ordered the Taro Milk tea with boba. Tea is delicious. Boba was really chewy and soft. Staff was very friendly. If you’re craving boba and are in the area it’s a solid option with lots of fun flavors

I’ve been back a few times to try different drinks and am always happy with them. I’ve tried the muscle up, a honeydew smoothie and the dragon fruit mango smoothie. The dragon fruit mango I have ordered more than once as it’s so flavorful and refreshing. Eva is friendly and very helpful. She is good at explaining the variety of drinks offered and making recommendations when I ask. I appreciate it! Will be back again. They also have hot drinks, haven’t tried them yet but winter is coming!

I happened to be shopping at the outlet mall yesterday and passed by the Tea Monks store. I thought I would go in and order a smoothie...not sure what exactly I wanted I asked the young woman for suggestions! Ava was so helpful and helped me decide on a delicious drink! She seemed very knowledgeable about the drinks and was very patient with me. I will be returning again soon. And bringing my family with me! I was very impressed with this cute shop...it was a great experience!

I attended a Holi Festival party at Flower field Carlsbad with my family. Once done with the party, I took my kids to Tea Monks in the food court area at Carlsbad Premium outlets. We have been here a couple of times in the past and my kids loved their slush, fruit smoothies and lemonades etc. I love their range of drinks! Give it a try guys!

Great friendly service, she even offered to re-make our drinks if we didn't get the flavor we were hoping for! Good offer but not necessary as all drinks were just right We stopped by Wednesday afternoon after a day at Legoland, no line when we arrived but many arrived as we left. Thanks for a great friendly experience!

This is fairly new at the outlet mall and was very happy to see that theres a boba place now. I ordered my favorite Taro Milk Tea. They have so much flavor to try in their menu. They also offer sugar level so thats one of the attactive part. The price is also very reasonable.

I ordered the passion fruit slushee and it was so tasty and not too sweet at all! It was like a 7-11 slushee but better with variety of flavors. Highly customizable too - you have the options to add whatever else you want with it. I like to keep things simple and fresh so I went with getting straight slush. Friendly staff, great service, tasty teas. Would stop by again.

I love how you can choose the amount of sugar you want to add for the drinks. Menu is extensive and the staff always treats you with a smile. They have introduced delicious macarons too. Macaron Ice Cream at Tea Monks is amazing! The macarons are crunchy outside and soft inside, and the ice cream is so smooth. They have lots of yummy flavors to choose from. The colors are pretty, and the people there are nice. It's the best Boba and Macaron Ice cream place!

We stopped by Tea Monks on our way back home from Legoland. We always love the vibes of this location and enjoy stopping by when I am in the area. The workers are sweet and willing to substitute oat milk instead of whole milk. I tried their new ceremonial matcha milk tea and loved the delicious taste.

I had a friend visiting me from Australia so took her to Carlsbad Premium Outlets to shop. We stopped by Tea Monks on a whim and ordered Zen Thai tea. I loved that we could customize sugar percentages. The tea tasted delicious. Staff was super nice and friendly. I loved the huge mural and social media wall. We will be back with my teenagers to try more of the flavors.

This was my second time at Tea Monks Carlsbad and the service was amazing. I ordered my usual thai tea with boba. The boba was cooked perfect. I am a boba snob and loved the texture. Give them a chance people. The mall needs more cute places like this.

While shopping, I came across Tea Monks conveniently located next to parking and my Thai tea was very flavorful and tasteful. I loved the giant Monk mural on the wall. Excellent boba for an evening drink. The employees all seemed amicable and professional. Beware sweetness when it comes to the strawberry tea. But it’s also refreshing to see a tea place with a bit more of a sweet kick to their drinks. Highly recommend!

The shop is strategically located at start of outlets. After tired of shopping and while going back to home, one would like to come to such shops. We had Haagen-Drazs ice cream and milk shake. Reasonable.

Gave Tea Monks 4 stars because my taro milk tea with oat milk was way too sweet (I asked for 25% sweet) and it had boba (I asked for no boba). My daughter ordered a 50% sweetness tiger milk tea with oat milk and Boba, she loved it. They have a variety of alternative milks, we will be back for a second chance.

It was my first time coming here. It was the closest location to where I'm staying. I enjoyed the flavored teas with jelly. I also visited a location at tje Escondido mall. I'm happy when im able to get boba from the same place at different locations. I recommend them.

Great presentation but barely any flavor to back it up. Boba texture is way too soft with an odd tanginess.

We got their coconut taro with a little boba. This place uses syrups for their flavor which I’m not a fan of. Their boba was hard, definitely not fresh.

Prices are fair, drinks taste good great selection and variety but boba was hard af will give another try next time I’m in the area.

Service: Our cashier was nice, but not efficient. I checked in on Yelp for the 1 free topping. I ordered a drink with boba. I noticed it didn’t reflect on the iPad while checking out. She said it won’t show on the screen, but they’ll add the boba. This was not the case. They forgot to add the boba. Partly my fault for not noticing and trusting the cashier’s words. It wasn’t until after I grabbed my drink, took a quick photo, and left - that I noticed they forgot to add the boba. At that point I was already in my car, so I accepted the L. Drinks: 1) I ordered the S’mores Milk Tea with boba (did not get boba) and easy ice. I felt the milk tea was more chocolatey. Unsure what part actually made it “s’mores.” Despite no boba and lack of taste, it wasn’t too sweet and decent. 2) My partner ordered the Muscle Up Choco Smoothie, no toppings - I didn’t get to try his drink because he downed it, but he said he really liked it. What a mess of a place! Literally came in excited to try them out when I went to order the kids/employees where talking to each other none stop some on their phones, with headphones on I was barely able to put in my order. When it came out no one called it out so it was just sitting there. I kid you not there was a fruit fly or a bug inside my Thai tea!!Like it was so disgusting not coming back ever again. Mind as well drive to sugar moon where they treat you better and prices are better!

I went back to see if I could exchange it for something else the rude employee said sure what would you like, then I went ahead and requested a different beverage and just responded with $6.75 and asked if I wanted her to throw away the drink I came back to return. I said yes but when I asked if I would receive some kind of credit for returning the product she quickly just said no it was an hour ago you should have brought it back right away, so that would be $6.75.I did not choose to argue with the young and disengaged employee I just purchased the new drink since this was for my daughter and she was excited for it. Never again will I go to this establishment😀

First the cashier was rude. They didn't have boba. Then they skipped my order. They completed 3 orders that came after mine. After, asking the manager if I could get a refund they were trying to justify our order taking over 20min because the person making drinks is new and they don't know how to read the orders. Funny justification because the other drinks were in order. So are we hiring people that don't know how numbers work? 10 out of 10.... don't recommend.

Sorry to say it, but this place is all hype and not at all the great boba shop that other reviewers led me to believe. I will give them a half star for the location within the outlets, but could imagine that being a bad thing when the outlets are super busy. Another half star for their decent boba. It wasn’t mushy or too sweet like it can be at other places. Boba held together and had a nice chew to it, but nothing spectacular. Tried their Black Milk Tea. It literally tasted like if you added a lot of ice to chocolate milk (not sure why you’d do that), let the ice completely melt, forget if you added ice so you add more, then pour that into the cup over decent boba. I had the Taro Milk Tea which is definitely a powder or syrup as there was no hint of actual taro in it. Tasted more like the milk left after eating a bowl of fruity cereal, colored purple, for effect. Kids had the S’Mores Milk Tea. Tasted nothing like a S’More. No marshmallow or graham cracker flavor or anything like that. Basically just chocolate milk. If I could rename it based off the flavor, I’d call it S’Less because definitely didn’t want any S’More. Don’t believe me? See picture for proof, but go ahead and try it for yourself. Not gonna name any other places to go instead, but I will not be coming back here.
