Recensioni di Hotate Casalino
Casalino Osteria Kosher serves the best food I had in all of Rome. The handmade pasta is absolutely outstanding - you can really feel that everything is made fresh on site. You won’t find pizza here, but the pasta alone is more than worth the visit. The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming, which adds a lot to the overall experience. The quality of the food is genuinely much higher than many restaurants in the area that claim to specialize in pasta. Highly recommended and definitely worth a visit!
We very much enjoyed our dinner last night at this casual family run restaurant. Everything we ordered was delicious. Of course being in Rome we ordered the artichokes a la Giudia and they were crispy and perfect; fried anchovies - if you are an anchovy lover do not skip these; fish soup which is made to order was highly recommended by the enthusiastic young woman who was our server, and she was right - it was exceptional! We ordered grilled sea bream which was fresh and perfectly cooked, and lastly, a puntarelle vegetable side dish -a Roman specialty only available in the winter for a few months - was delcious. We ordered mostly fish dishes and all were excellent. The specialties of the restaurant are pasta and gnocchi and Iwe can only imagine how good they must be. If you are looking for great food in a casual atmosphere we highly recommend you visit Casalina Osteria .
A very cozy place — the pasta was absolutely amazing: fresh, flavorful, with just the right balance of salt and cheese. The portion was generous, and everything was prepared with real quality — you can tell the chef knows what they're doing. I also calculated the calories using the service shown in the photo attached to my review — it turned out to be super convenient and fast. Now I recommend it to everyone: it makes tracking your meals really easy and helps you stay on track. Great combo of tasty food and self-care!
We found this gem and couldn't be happier with the quality of food we received. Homemade is hard to find, and wandering away from the city center was worth the walk. The waitstaff was friendly and knowledgeable of their products, and they were extremely helpful in translating and offering suggestions. We wanted dessert to go, but we w encouraged to eat it there, so we pulled up our pants, unbuttoned the top button, and got to work. Of course, the recommendation was correct. I couldn't imagine the dessert tasting the same after walking thru the city for a few hours.
What an amazing meal and excellent service. From the momento we walked in, we were warmly welcomed! The food was outstanding. Authentic and home made flavors! The artichoke was phenomenal, as well as the zucchini…the pasta delicious and the dessert didn’t dissapoint either. Highly recommended!
The pesto pasta here is straight-up fire, and the cod fish? Just wow. Noa, the manager, is super chill and totally helped us out with hotel bookings when everything was full. You can really feel the love in this family-run spot. If you want dope food and awesome vibes, this is the place to be!
Simply incredible. The quality of the other kosher restaurants seems cheap and touristic compared to this amazing quality, quick and lovely service, and a menu that kept me coming back to try more of the authentic and delicious Italian dishes. Highly recommend the Jewish artichoke, truffle ravioli, gnocchi with rose sauce, and the fried cod filet, which I will be dreaming about when I get back to America. We also took a cooking class and ate the food after—the chef was great company and very patient, and I recommend this as well. DON’T MISS IT!!
The food was insane. The best meal we had in Rome. We really loved every detail, all the dishes were a hit. We had the catch of the day, truffle ravioli, and the artichokes. My parents wanted to lick the plate lol 😆 with the truffle sauce. Really loved the details in terms of even the bread was good, the olive oil, and the plates were even pretty. The owners were very charming.
Visited twice. Lunch: starts off with the locally made bread with olive oil. Amazing. Had the traditional Jewish fried stuff, amazing. The pumpkin risotto and ravioli with truffles. Amazing! Dinner: less exciting. The Roman artichoke not nearly as good as the Jewish one. The fried anchovies were great. But the pasta dishes (tonarelli and carbonara) were too salty. Cool well in the cellar.
I wanted to like this place as it was my idea to come to this part of town by several recommendations. Perhaps we could have ordered better but the artichoke starters were pretty dull not much flavor and the fried artichoke we had no idea what to do with. We've had great fried artichokes before and they're tender with a nice crispy exterior, this was crispy but had a strange dry interior that made for an odd mouth feel. The fried mozzarella was very good like soft pillows of cheese.
The meal was very disappointing. The 2 artishokes dishes were overcooked and very greasy/oily The washrooms were not clean, and one of the 2 stalls could not be locked. Service was very mediocre and uncaring. A paper bag with bread was brought to the table and I told the server that we do not require bread. Her response curtly stated that we are being charged for it so we can either take it with us or leave it and that she did not care what our choice was! There was indeed a charge for it. The bread was VERY dry and stale. Sadly, some restaurants in high traffic touristy places (this was in the Jewish Quarter) count on one-time tourists and might therefore pay much less attention to quality.
