Had to choose between those one and next door. At 11 pm, this place was more popular. My last stop was at the joint next door. So I went in to see what all the ruckus was about. My second time here. Not sure what to get, I knew to go for more protein and less carbs. I settled for the soft tofu + galbi. The menu showed two bowls. They gave me a full course meal--at the price of one dish next door! When I started going down on my meal, I had no idea what I was doing. But they didn't judge me. I felt comfortable eating my meal however I wanted to. I was so bad, I didn't even notice the raw egg that was supposed to be cracked into the boiling tofu soup. When I shared that with them, they just said, "No worries, we'll just heat it up for you." So I cracked my egg in and they sent it off. Upon return, the dish was full again like it was a new, fresh dish! Wow. Thanks, ChoDang! You know the food is good and your satisfied...when you're sweating and feeling warm all over. That was me--runny nose and all. I gotta admit. The place is more expensive than I'm comfortable with. But compared to other places, you do get more bang out of your bucket. Thank you so much Chodang!
Was super happy to see a place open at midnight. We had a simple order of just soft tofu soup. I’ve never been to a restaurant like this, so when the waitress brought side dishes that were included, I was so happy. The food was served hot, and everything was delicious. Parking was a little crowded as there’s another restaurant to the side of it with similar hours and a 24-hour donut spot in the same area. My only tiny and very personal complaint was that it was extremely cold inside. Since it’s primarily soup, I understand it cools it since they serve it boiling, but just a little note to mention if you get cold easily like me. I ordered the dumpling soft tofu soup in mild and it was full of flavor.
This place is definitely Korean comfort food! The flavors are so good! The restaurant is small and clean. The service is friendly and efficient. Plenty of parking to be had. Everything we had was delicious with authentic Korean flavors. I always love all the traditional Korean side dishes. They do not skimp and even have two small fish! So many places have removed that from the sides offered. They have lunch combos available M-F.
Went here with a 7 person group yesterday for Christmas Eve dinner with friends. Of course we called first to determine holiday hours. They confirmed they closed at 10PM and we arrive around 8:50PM. The hostess was very accommodating and very attentive. Made sure we had everything we needed and even told us to enjoy our food, relax without worrying about the time. She was a gem! I ordered T14, tofu and mushrooms. A friend ordered the short ribs. Buddy said not a lot of Korean restaurants do short ribs like this so it's unique to this particular restaurant. Complimentary side dishes and rice. Everything was delicious. We will be coming back here after our group movie nights !
Order: 🍚 Hot Stone Bibimbap 🍲 Beef Short Rib Soondubu 🐙 Seafood Pancake 🥟 Fried Dumpling 🐷 Pork Cutlet Ever since I discovered Cho Dang last year, it’s become a staple in my local restaurant rotation. Chodang in Cerritos hits the spot when you’re craving comforting, cozy Korean eats. Their popular soondubu is rich, flavorful, and served boiling hot, just the way it should be. The sizzling stone pot bibimbap has the most perfect crispy rice layer on the bottom. Other dishes we tried included the donkatsu/pork cutlet and the seafood pancake. Each and every item was delicious! There was nothing I would change about any of the food I had. It was and is always the perfect cozy meal. Service is great as well, and the portions are extremely generous. Hope you can try Cho Dang soon if you haven’t already!
We went for dinner the other night. There is a ton of parking available. They are also up until 2am. The interior is simple and felt like home. We ordered a soju and a Korean rice wine. Both were delicious and got us ready for food. The bachan was plentiful and delicious. I love kimchi and it was so crisp and flavorful. To start we got the seafood pancake which is large and more than enough for my friend and I'm we took some home with us. It was crisp and the seafood was delicious. Next we had a bulgolgi bibimbap. Another portion and was quite filling and flavorful. We ended with an army stew. It said it was 2 servings but we could have fed 4 people. Spicy, hot, and absolutely filling. Service was super helpful and friendly. Would totally recommend and come back to.
We actually wanted to go to the new place next to it but then the long wait line redirected us to Cho Dang Tofu House. We were not disappointed. The Braised Ribs were amazing. The Seafood Pancakes were very flavorful and delicious. We also were given complimentary barley tea which was a nice plus. I do not know about the place next door but I can definitely recommend this Korean Restaurant.
Hands down the best tofu soup in the area. This place has been here 20+ years and they're not going anywhere. Authentic soft tofu soup with different levels of spice. This spot is a staple in the community. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I always get the soup and bbq combo. My favorite combo is the spicy pork and bean paste spicy soft tofu soup. I highly recommend this place if you want something new to try or you're an avid tofu soup goer and want to put this place to the test. It will not fail, authentic Korean flavors to the max
I loved this place so much I'm going a second time very soon. The hot pot bulgogi was so flavorful and great amount of meat and glass noodles perfect for two. The spicy pork ribs were so tender they fell off the bone and delicious with a bite of rice. Reccomending this place to everyone!
Omg I came to Chodang and had such delicious korean tofu soups. I tried beef mild soondubu, seafood pancakes (must try), mackerel fish , and 2 intestine gopchang soondubus (medium) spice level. The korean lady was very very kind and welcoming. They even had new chairs & tables so it looked extremely modern. Food Instagram: @soppkim
One of the best, if not the best, Soondubu spot in the area. The staff are very friendly and attentive. They also very fast in cooking/preparing your order. Their pricing is a bit cheap for the quality that you get from their food. Try to get the tofu soup and galbi combo.
I craved a hot bowl of tofu soup (soondooboo) on a rainy and cold evening, and Cho Dang Tofu restaurant satisfied the craving. Not once had a bad experience with their quality and taste on my past visits. I ordered the perilla seed with mushroom soondooboo ($12.99) at the medium spice level. For the first timers try the seafood & beef or my favorite bean paste soondooboo that comes with clam, beef, and mushroom. The meal comes with a container with the yummy side dishes (banchan), white rice, and a fried fish. I recommend that you reheat the soondooboo in a pot and add an egg immediate after you turn off the fire. Picked up the new To-Go Bento set ($12.99) beef bulgogi and the restaurant is having a 20% off promo until end of January 31st on the Special Bento set ($16.99) or the To-Go Bento. The Special comes with additional banchans. A good amount of bulgogi with onions and no funny business with onions hiding underneath the bulgogi. This set will fill you up. Will come back to try their other specials and new menu items
Authentic Korean BBQ with good soon soup. Not too overly salty like most places serving soon soup. Overall very tasty.
Been coming here since I was 16 or less now bringing my own family best tofu ever.

Extremely quick and attentive service, open late, unlimited banchan that includes a fried fish. Their soondubu was so flavorful and delicious! I got the "mixed" (seafood/meat) flavor, my cousin got the kimchi. We were mind-blown! A million out of ten in my book!
Great place with fantastic services and authentic food. One of the few places I know that have numerous side dishes

Looking for a Korean place to eat and found this place and it was good! We ordered Kimchi soup with beef, Galbi combo with soup 🍲 and they gave us plenty of side dishes to go with our meal. We were happy with our orders. Service was ok and the parking was a bit small and crowded.

The food was good and it came out fast. I am not a huge fan of tofu but the tofu soup was good. Good service and the side dishes are great as well.
Good food, but service needs improvement. Look, I get it - the restaurant business isnt easy. And to their credit, the food is solid. However, service is inattentive and understaffed, even by standards of dililst restaurants. We usually dine in, but decided to try Seamless. They had completed my order, but never marked it. I'd not have known if I did not flag down servers multiple times. There were other orders also sitting unmarked. Again, food is good, but you get a strong feeling that they don't value your business, ir timely service in general. Not sure if I'll be back again

We've lived in Cerritos for 50 yrs. Been coming to the rest since they 1st opened. Food has always been good no matter whoever happened to have been operating the business. The place was always packed with a line. Fast forward... food still good but never packed anymore. I gave 2 stars because the owner lady is very mean. My Mother refuses to go now because my Mom says the lady has a sour attitude. I had relatives visiting. I took them to the restaurant. They said the food is good but the lady is mean. Could this be the reason why the restaurant is no longer packed??

Worst dining experience I’ve had in a long time. The server was rude and acted like we were bothering them by being there. Food is not as good as before. The attitude, service, and food were all terrible. Save your time and money.
We've been ordering tofu soup here but yesterday we ordered to go. I was surprised that the soup don't taste like before. Taste like hot water with a tiny salt. Very bland. Probably because we ordered white? But we've been ordering white before and it was good. They didn't increase their prices that much but the food taste different as before. Even my daughter doesn't want to eat it coz the one she has was bland too. The restaurant got rennovated. I miss the old looks of the restaurant. It feels like your eating a home cooked meal. But now, I am Very disappointed.
