We had a fantastic evening here. The food was absolutely incredible - every dish we tried was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was top-notch as well, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and took great care of us. The highlight of the night, however, was having the Chef come to our table to chat. It added such a personal touch to the meal.

Went there with friends for Saturday dinner. Waited for another ~10 minutes past our reservation time; we were given free popcorn and the smoking flavor tasted great. We ordered three appetizers and five entrees. The appetizers were amazing. The chèvre pecan and smoothed goat cheese in autumn salad stood out. Yakiton and Kan Sui Noodles are Japanese fusion style, which flavors were really balanced out. The pork belly did not have as much fat as a pork belly normally does, but it was cooked to the just right crispy level. The entrees were not as impressive as the appetizers but still good. Would recommend the chicken katsu and the black ink bucatini. The flour coating on the katsu was surprisingly thin and crispy more than expected. Wagyu beef, on the other side, was a bit disappointed. We can see that the chef was trying to be creative, but the taste did not catch up with the presentation of the food. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about all the ingredients when we asked for details. The pace of food coming to the table was comfortable.

WOW! What a gem. Our server Lozano was super attentive and sweet. The hostess (long black hair) was incredible as well. Bonus points for the chef who came to check on us after an amazing meal. All the dishes that we had were top notch. Pineapple bread pudding was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had in my life. Highly recommend this little gem :)

Referred to this restaurant on open table - being a Chase Reserve exclusive table. Decided to try it using our credit before the end of the year and it didn’t disappoint. Started at the bar with a delicious pineapple cocktail where it tasted like it was fat washed with milk. Then got seated at our table where we opted out of the pre-fixe and went all in with the à la carte menu. Our server Ross was amazing and made some very good recommendations. Appetizers were generously portioned and the mains were easily shareable. We treated the experience as a family-style meal. Only downside is the parking situation is horrible due to so many restaurants being located here, but the food itself was delicious. We will be back during the menu change!

We didn’t know what to expect when we came to this restaurant, but we were genuinely amazed by the time we walked out. I originally booked it just to use my Chase Sapphire dining credit, but now it’s a place I’d actually come back to. For appetizers, I “highly” recommend the autumn salad, and for the main dish, the squid ink bucatini is a must-order. Everything was perfectly balanced, and that bucatini really hit the spot (the seafood, spice, flavor were perfect) As for the noodle dish, I’m Korean, so I didn’t have strong opinions overall, but I do think adding a bit more kimchi and sesame oil would bring out even more flavor. It was just okay for us. The wagyu steak was also good but nothing special. Sorbet with local honey, was surprisngly good! To top it off, Alden, the owner, came out to greet us at the end, which made the experience feel even more special.

My experience with the three course prix fixe was fantastic. While the Wagyu Sirloin was good, the Yakiton (Pork Belly) was the undisputed star of the meal, absolutely delicious and a must try. Another huge highlight was the vegetarian Panache Of Daal soup, which was extremely flavorful. I would happily return just for these two items. The menu impressively offers a variety of well executed cuisines, making this spot highly recommendable. Service was attentive and caring. Parking can be a small challenge in the busy lot but there is a valet right outside the door.

Phenomenal service from start to finish. The first time I’ve ever seen a bartender come out from behind the bar multiple times to check in and assist the dining room. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel special in my birthday. I would eat every dish we had again and we will definitely be back.

This was our fourth time dining at The Alden for a special occasion and our second time with Ross as our server. Every visit the food and quality of service gets better and better (and to start it was impeccable!) This time around we did the $65 3 course tasting menu for the first time— it is an incredible value! You can expect a meticulously crafted menu with inventive flavor pairings, great cocktails, fabulous ambiance, and incredible service when you come. Highly recommend!

TLDR: Excellent dining experience. Very high quality for a very good price. Review: We came here with my parents. We were greeted by a very nice hostess and seated in the middle right by the kitchen. Our server was very down to earth. He explained all the dishes and was quite knowledgeable and flexible when we switched things up. The cocktails were very good. I was pleased to hear all the non-alcoholic options. The na Rose was excellent. We were served with warm bread and yummy butter. We wanted more butter but didnt want to fill up. The autumn salad was amazing. Perfectly dressed and the apples were cut so delicately, very impressed with the presentation. We were recommended the appetizer trio plate and that was excellent. Crab cakes were perfect. Shrimp were great with the sauces. But the star for us was the oysters. They were creamy but had a bright ocean taste. I will definitely ask for the recipe. The pork belly was super tender and flavorful. We all fought for the last of it. Just amazing. Came with dressed cucumbers and some yummy sauces. Recommend! Dad got the snapper. He liked it. I failed to try it. Mom and wife got the wagyu sirloin. I can confidently say the steak was PERFECTION. The sauce, presentation, cook, everything was flawless for both of their plates. I got the squid ink pasta. It was unique and had intense flavor. I think the only thing that put me off was the sardine, but thats only because im not a big fan of that fishy profile. I still quite enjoyed the dish and it actually had some decent spice. It was even better the next day. Tons of lump crab in it. I was mesmerized by it the next day. Deserts were good. We loved watching the chef Jared Hucks himself cook our dishes. His passion shines through every dish. He came and asked about our experience afterwards. I wish I had a fraction of his talent. We are coming back again for date night Thursday for the 3 course meal. One of the first restaurants we’ve been smitten by since moving here from out of state. In terms of atmosphere I prefer more private dining like sectioned booths, this is more open seating and the lighting is a bit brighter than id like for a more romantic vibe. Overall an amazing experience and the pricing was very reasonable. Especially for the quality and level of care overall. Bravo!

Opted for the 3 course Prix Fixe menu at 6:30pm on a Thursday. The amuse bouche was a little confusing but the rest of the foods were for the most part great. Felt as if there was a strong asian influence on many of the dishes which was unexpected but welcomed. The Alden also seems to also enjoy utilizing honey which as a personal preference also worked for me. Started with the brisket seasoned popcorn which was popular with seemingly everyone at the venue. Then came the amuse bouche which was aesthetic but lacked presence and synergy to me. Bread served with a combination of honey, olive oil, and butter was enjoyable. First course was Yakiton and the pork belly albeit slightly fattier than I would have preferred it, was still good and cooked well. Shiso and to an extent the cucumber helped cut the fat. The puree stood out but wasn’t necessarily cohesive with the dish. Texture for the entire plate was a bit monotonous with everything being quite soft. Second course, Carolina Flounder, very mixed feelings. The protein itself wasn’t cooked well and my knife instead of cutting would mash it. The grilled persimmon on the other hand had just the right amount of char and was the standout. Closely following would be the potato. The rest of the ingredients and sauces were just alright. My guest opted for the chicken katsu which I can whole heartedly state was one of the best katsu dishes in Georgia. To outperform the recent plethora of Katsu specialty restaurants with chicken no less was quite impressive. Would not utilize the sauce as it was far too aggressive but wasn’t necessary anyways with how moist the meat was. Wrapped up with the Lemon Meringue Tart, which was attractively plated. The cantaloupe sorbet was a wonderful palate cleanser and well balanced in sweetness and mild tartness. Blueberry compote was also enjoyable with a hint of sour that balanced out the richness and sweetness from the meringue. My guest had the Mint chocolate cake, which utilized a good amount of actual mint that was subtle yet lingering. Overall a good experience but I would recommend going earlier or when less busy. As service progressed and tables were filled, there was a noticeable increase of waiting time between dishes.

Dining at The Alden was not simply a meal. It was a full experience rooted in intention, warmth, and culinary excellence. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance striked the perfect balance between upscale, warm and inviting. It felt refined without being pretentious, elegant yet comfortable, the kind of place that naturally makes you want to dress up and settle in. The experience begins with thoughtful touches like elevated popcorn and fresh bread while you watch the kitchen prepare everything in real time. Sitting at the chef’s counter makes the evening immersive and communal. You are not just eating. You are part of the process. The lobster bisque with butternut squash was flawless. Beautifully plated, generously portioned, and rich with lobster, it was comforting and refined at the same time. Every course that followed was executed with precision, including a perfectly prepared fish entrée paired seamlessly with wine. Dessert was equally stunning, a chocolate creation paired with ice cream and thoughtful accompaniments, each explained with care. What truly sets The Alden apart is the hospitality. The service was warm, knowledgeable, and genuine. The owner personally came over to speak with me, which made the experience feel special and deeply appreciated. That level of care is rare. I have dined at Michelin starred restaurants that did not deliver this level of consistency and connection. The Alden is Michelin recommended, but it is operating at a Michelin star level right now. I highly recommend because I will definitely be back to this neighborhood gem.

I came here after I saw a picture on their instagram of the prettiest plate of food (Kansui Noodles). My visit to The Alden was absolutely everything I had hoped it would be. From the service, the food options, and the ambience of the spot. So much TLC goes into the food…my meal had me dancing in my chair. The ingredients of the food and the cocktails are everything. 6/5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dinner service was excellent. Every plate is thought out, from rich flavors to just right portions. The Wagyu and Coconut Sorbet 100/10 Mike was knowledgeable and made us feel right at home 💕, thanks for an amazing experience Jared.

The food was up to par & the ingredients gave it that luxury feeling. The steak had these wine jelly on it & that was very nice to try!

We LOVE this restaurant!! We cannot recommend it enough. The food is inventive and different but so good. Presentation is meticulous. The staff is all friendly and very knowledgeable. We feel it’s surprising we don’t hear more about this restaurant because it is just SO amazing. Better than many Atlanta restaurants and still so affordable and conveniently located. Cannot recommend it enough!!

I made a reservation for Chef’s Counter with the tasting menu for my partner’s birthday. It was such a fun experience. Ross was our main waiter and was amazing and warm. We had a myriad of people speak to us and check in on us which was so nice. The food was great! My favorite was a mushroom pasta dish followed by the Thai custard dessert. I was slightly disappointed in the Wagyu dish - I expected melt in your mouth tender and it was a bit on the tougher side. The chef came over at the end and wished my partner a happy birthday. They even brought out this pineapple sorbet with a candle, which was amazing, and a handwritten card. It is definitely an upscale place but the vibe is very unassuming. Nice without being stuffy. Overall it was such a fun experience and the food was great so 10/10 would recommend!

If I could give it 4.5 rather than 5, I would. The food was solid. We will be back. This was one of the best basque cheesecakes I've ever had as it was light and airy. The service did take a long time for each component of the meal to come out.

I had an amazing experience at the Alden. I chose to do the 5 course tasting menu and my palate was in heaven. The way they mix flavors, colors & textures is truly special. I spent a little chunk of change but it was worth it. I even learned a few things and went to Whole Foods to try some new cheeses. Truly an experience.

Amazing! The food was not only delicious but also thoughtfully prepared. I loved the unique combination of ingredients like bitter melon, pickled cherries, and other staples of Asian cuisine. The presentation was beautiful, and the service was friendly and attentive. The chef even came out to check on us. This place is definitely so good, and I can’t wait to come back. I'm thrilled to have such a great spot so close to home! And we ordered more than this, but I forgot to take pictures.

Absolutely amazing experience! We were celebrating our anniversary at the Alden. The service was excellent and the food was super delicious and full of surprises. Most dishes in our tasting menu were Asian inspired and we really enjoyed it. Some combinations of the ingredients were very unique and innovative, and the flavor was complex and rich. I believe the chef must spend a lot of time and effort designing the menu. Highly recommend this place! We will definitely come back to try more things.

I went to the Alden yesterday to meet some friends for lunch and we had the most amazing time. We have eaten at the Alden since it’s opening and the food is ALWAYS good!! They recently added Lunch 2 days a week with a well curated lunch menu with something for everyone( from Vegetarians to meat eaters). I had the Lobster Roll which would have satisfied any Maine resident it was fresh and ALL lobster meat no fillets. The wedge salad was delicious and because my friends and I are rarely off during the week we treated ourselves and I got a Hemingway Cocktail which was out of this world. Do yourself a favor next time you are going to lunch with friends or Perhaps taking a client out, go the Alden it is well worth it. I will definitely be back for lunch again!!

Great restaurant and environment for date night or business meeting. First time visiting, we booked the chefs tasting. They seat you at the bar so you can watch the kitchen staff work their magic. Met chef Jared and hearing his passion and stories added to the experience. They gave us a surprise happy anniversary card and mango sorbet and you don’t find that very often!! 7 course dinner with some snacks was tasty but very filling. Favorite items were the pork belly and passion fruit dessert. It is Michelin recommended, so advise getting a reservation. For future, being a foodie and particular, they will have to continue heightening the level of all dishes to get a Michelin star. We will definitely be coming back.

An absolutely phenomenal experience. The food, ambience, and our server Nicole were all amazing. We tried their salad, oysters, lamb belly, potato gnocchi, pork chop, and their chocolate dessert. Every dish was a piece of art and it was evident that the chef had put in a lot of thought and effort to add great depth to flavor and texture into his food. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and attentive to our table. I will definitely be back and can't wait to try the different menu items!

If you haven’t had a chance to experience this restaurant you should. Food: well balanced. Flavorful. Artistic. The menu changes quite frequently, which (imo) is decadent. We ordered 2 apps, 3 different entrees, 1 dessert and several alchy bevs. Apps: We ordered the Autumn Salad and Green Egg and Lamb Belly. Salad was a great mixture between savory and sweet. I’m usually not a fan of fruit in my salad but they did a good job of making sure the sweetness wasn’t too overwhelming and I enjoyed it. The green egg dish was basically a unique twist on a carbonara pasta. The past was made in house and it was perfectly al dente. The egg was a nice touch. Lamb was tender and well seasoned. The cheese, fresh mint and fresh basil was the chefs kiss. Loved that all the produce served with both dishes was locally sourced. Entrees: We ordered the Jerk Fla Red Snapper, Scallops Tom kha, and Chantel Wagyu. I believe all ingredients, including the meat, were locally sourced. The scallops were a wonderful balance between savory, creamy, spicy and a slight bit of bitterness. I personally ordered the scallops and I’m happy with my choice. The Wagyu was excellent. It was tender and so well balanced with fresh peppers and sauce. I’m not a steak person but this dish was my second favorite. The snapper was good and wasn’t over cooked. Flavor was light and the texture heavier. It was giving comfort food. You honestly can’t wrong with any dish. Dessert: Apple cobbler. It was a deconstructed apple cobbler. It was so beautiful I didn’t want to eat it lol. But I did and it was delicious! Drinks: we ordered wine, the thc drink, espresso, and a port wine. 10/10. Service: We had the pleasure of being served by Ross. He was lovely, friendly, and he has quite a talent at explaining the food. He was the chefs kiss to our entire dining experience.

Came here with my family on one of my birthdays. The dishes were very creative and tasted good. The service was awesome. They checked on us a good handful of times. They even wrote me a hand written card for my birthday! I’ll never forget my experience there.

Amazing atmosphere and presentation. The food was an excellent experience of many different flavors combined in a unique way. Very delicious and one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Service was exceptional and friendly. Can’t wait to be back!

This was our first time trying a Michelin Guide restaurant! We had the 7-course tasting menu, and the experience was great. My favorites were the oyster with orange appetizer and the wagyu steak with wine jelly sauce. I thought the wine jelly sauce was very creative! We might come back for lunch sometime.

Fantastic experience at The Alden. Glad to find another fine dining establishment I can add to my list. Service: great, besides waiting on water one time, the serving staff did an amazing job. We barely waited anytime for our courses and drinks. Food: amazing! I order the grouper dish, which was cooked to perfection. Great flavor. Loved that everything on the plate was edible. My wife order the pasta dish, which was also delicious. I’d probably would’ve chosen the pasta dish looking back because of the bold flavors and how much better than the dish I ordered. I highly recommend trying, 5/5 stars.

The parking area is tight but they have valet, so it's all good. The entrance door is small and on the side of the restaurant so we walked to the wrong side and wrong door at first. We had a birthday reservation for the Chef's tasting menu. The whole experience was great. All diners for the Chef's tasting menu were seated at the bar so you can see the chefs' working. They're really accommodating with my food allergy and none spicy palate, for which I appreciate. Every dishes were delicious, creative, and well presented. The dishes and the ingredients are explained every time they are served. There's a special card from the team for a birthday dinner. The team from chefs to servers are very professional and friendly.Though one of the diners from the group next to us talked non-stop, that doesn't reflect the restaurant's quality. The only small issues I had is with the high bar chair. The chair cushion doesn't go all the way to the edge of the wooden chair. I'm petite form and I wore a dress. So the wooden edge of the chair is kind of hard and uncomfortable for my legs. Besides that, I had a wonderful experience and will definitely come back for more. Highly recommended!

I felt like the most special girl in the restaurant after coming here for my birthday. This has been the only fine dining restaurant that I have been to that I truly believe is worth the price. I had the chef’s tasting menu, which is 7-courses. The chef prepared an extra two appetizer courses and gave me an extra dessert as well. They even went through the trouble of writing me a birthday card! The chef, host, and the chef’s assistant who explained each course were all so kind to me. Every dish I tasted had so much intention and thought behind it; every flavor was so harmonious. My favorite dishes was the Tom Kha oysters, carrot salad, borscht soup, and off-menu smoked popcorn. I also loved the mocktail I ordered, “That Bloozy Spritz.” My boyfriend’s favorites were the yucca tortellini and scallops. I will definitely come here more often and order from the à la carte menu in the future! Thank you to The Alden for making my day so special.

This place is a dream come true! Everything on your plate is strategically placed for a reason. Technically, everything goes very well with each other; there was about 3 to 4 different ingredients on my plate and separately tasting certain things at a time gave me a different taste in every bite. I like the fact that every ingredient had it's own personality and gave me nothing but freshness and love. The love put into the food is so obvious and glaring it made me want to kiss all of the chefs. This place is filled with love, respect, understanding of food and people. The service was SUPER AMAZING and knowledgeable about what they were serving and for that; I will always keep this place in my rotation.

The Alden and Chef Jared did an amazing job making us feel special on our anniversary. The chef’s tasting menu is one of the best we have tried! Every piece was curated to make you say, “ Oh man, that’s delicious!” The wine pairing was close to perfect as well. Our server Mike was kind and new his wines! We couldn’t be happier with our experience.

Amazing chef's table experience. Staffs are very nice and helpful. Cocktail did not meet my expectations but my wife had great cocktail from here during her previous visit here. I think the bartender was not working the night we were there. Parking is pretty crazy. I might ride my bicycle next time coming here. Definitely a good restaurant worth coming back.

I wish I was better at describing food, all I can say is the chef is a master at combining surprising flavors that will bring out amazing and unique tastes that will leave you wanting more. Our waitress was absolutely awesome, I can't remember her name but she was so personable and friendly that I felt like I was being waited on by a good friend. Highly recommend this place, we will definitely be coming back.

In celebrating the happiest birthdays for our sister, our culinary adventure at The Alden unfolded as a delightful symphony for the senses - from the ambiance and expertly crafted cocktails to the meticulously presented dishes. The evening was not merely a dinner but a gastronomic experience that transcended expectations. The Alden's culinary prowess shone through in every aspect, from the meticulous preparation to the final presentation. Integrating emulsifying sauces with culinary foam created a harmonious marriage of textures and flavors for the scallops, risotto, and tortellini that danced on the palates for each of us. The addition of delicate roe on the scallops further enhanced the dish, offering a burst of briny richness that elevated each bite. Also, the succulent tenderness of the wagyu was a testament to The Alden’s commitment to sourcing and presenting the finest ingredients. Beyond the culinary delights, The Alden's commitment to excellence extended to its warm hospitality and thoughtful service. The staff's profound knowledge of the menu added an extra layer to our dining experience, guiding us through a culinary journey that left us wanting to know more. As the evening unfolded, a beautifully handwritten card emerged, a testament to Alden's attention to detail and commitment to creating memorable moments. These personal touches illuminated why The Alden proudly stands as a Michelin-recommended restaurant.

Yes! I love chef owned and operatated establishments. The Alden curates a great experience with plate presentations that match the flavor and quality of food. If you are lucky Chef Jared will also visit the table. Details: The service staff is prompt, polite and efficient. The decor is clean but may take simplicity too far. It is cuten but certainly does not seem to match the same thoughtfulness of the food...however, when given a choice, I'd prefer quality food over decor any day.

Incredible restaurant! The salads are different in terms of the combinations, also the presentation was so good you didn’t want to eat the salads. But they were very very good. Try the whole grain mustard dressing! We had the king salmon and the trout which so good that I recommend ordering either of those dishes. Also our friend had the red snapper (which he throughly enjoyed) and it looked delicious! Has no idea this restaurant was there but glad we stopped in.

Celebrated my girlfriend’s birthday here tonight, and this was one of the best meals I’ve had in 15 years living in Atlanta. We both did the $65 prix fixe menu which has to be one of the best deals in Atlanta. Autumn Salad, Red Daal Bisque, Autumn Orecchiette, Roasted Lavender Chicken, Bread Pudding, and Mint Chocolate Cake were all phenomenal. The waitstaff and chef were incredibly kind, and the whole experience was first rate. I can’t wait to go back soon.

I went into the Alden with marginal expectations after receiving a discount offer. I was delightfully surprised at the quality and innovation of both the food and cocktail program. Flavors were balanced and, in some cases, remarkably complex and intriguing. We were engaged not only by our server, but also by a gratifuing experience with the person who I believe was the head chef and an extensive and enjoyable time talking to Nicky, the head of the bar program. It's been quite a while since I have been shaken out of my complacency with the restaurant scene, so this was a real treat for me.

We had such an exceptional experience tonight. The food was absolutely delicious, the entire staff checked on us and were so kind to our daughter. Our server went out of his way to make sure we loved every thing. It was also such a nice touch that the Chef came out and greeted us and knew our daughter’s name by the end of the meal. It was such a fantastic atmosphere and the meal and drinks were top notch. Would HIGHLY recommend.

Exceptional experience from start to finish. I was seated next to the open kitchen, which typically makes me uneasy—I tend to analyze everything, from food handling to cleanliness, and I’m quick to notice issues like lapses in hygiene or cross-contamination. To my surprise, this kitchen was immaculate. Every movement felt deliberate, surfaces were spotless, and the team operated with a level of discipline and professionalism that immediately put me at ease. What truly elevated the experience was the attention to detail and pride in execution. The head chef personally approached me after the meal, a gesture that reflected both confidence and genuine care for the guest experience. The food itself was excellent, thoughtfully prepared, well-balanced, and absolutely worth the price point. This is the kind of restaurant that earns repeat visits, not just for the cuisine, but for the standards it holds itself to. I would gladly return and recommend it without hesitation.

Ross/Waiter was great. Wife and I did the Price fix 3 course menu. Appetizer: Autumn Salad was outstanding; oysters were average. Main Course: Wagyu was outstanding/over the top amazing; Chicken was great Dessert: loved the 3 sorbets - Cinnamon, Blue Berry, and 3rd cream one. Brought the Pineapple desert home Popcorn was smoked/different - wife liked more than me.; the apple stick was great! the sourdough bread was better than average.

My wife and I absolutely adore this place, and we always make sure to visit for our anniversary. The service is top notch, very attentive; the food is superb and will not disappoint. The chef has an incredible knack for also making food that I may otherwise usually avoid (mushrooms as an example) into extraordinary meals that taste incredible. Another thing that I very much appreciate of the staff is their willingness to accommodate children, even toddler. My wife and I brought our toddler once, whilst he was mostly fine, one can assume that all infants have a timer until they need to go on walks. Not once did any of them make us feel like we are not welcome, or we should hurry up. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Whatever I write is going to fall far short of our actual experience at this amazing place. The Alden in Chamblee is owned by Chef Jared Hucks, and from the moment you walk in, you can feel how much attention to detail has been made, and it continues through your experience. I have an absurd amount of food allergies and intolerances so I have never been successful at trying food experiences. I either have to skip courses or meals, or cannot even go to some restaurants. Not complaining, because I honestly didn’t know what I was missing. My sweet husband called Chef Jared and explained the situation and that we were celebrating our 33rd anniversary. Jared immediately said he could accommodate my food issues and made sure he was clear on each one of them. We opted for the 7-course experience to put him to the test, and he blew us away with his variety, and flavor combinations for each and every course. We sat at the kitchen bar and not only talked food with he and our server, Mike, but got to know them a bit and joke around with them as well. They offered wine pairings with each beautifully presented course, but we opted to just savor the food’s own flavors. I will put a plug in for the ginger berry soda I had prior to our meal. It was incredible! I would tell you our menu but I know he changes often and mine and my husbands were even different! I can PROMISE YOU Jared and his talented kitchen staff will not disappoint! The kind restaurant staff only augmented the evening. The spacing of the courses and the portion sizes were perfectly appointed and we left without one mm of space left in our stomachs, but we weren’t miserable. We even learned some wonderfully surprising flavor combinations to try at home! We have already purchased a gift card for special friends. Go to the Alden. Treat yourself. You will be blessed, as we were! Thanks Jared!

I recently decided to enjoy a rare solo dinner and chose The Alden, a decision that proved rewarding from start to finish. Dining alone, I opted for a seat at the bar, where I was warmly welcomed by Nick, the bartender. He took time to walk me through the cocktail menu, offering thoughtful recommendations that set a welcoming tone for the evening. I selected the “Love It Up,” a well balanced and enjoyable cocktail that served as a perfect introduction to the meal. I began with the JahJoy pork belly appetizer, which was expertly prepared, rich in flavor, and portioned just right to intrigue without overwhelming. For the main course, I chose the roasted lavender chicken. The chicken was tender and cooked with precision, complemented beautifully by the French onion jus, which added depth and savoriness to the dish. To complete the experience, I indulged in the bread pudding for dessert, a satisfying and memorable finish. The ambiance at The Alden is refined yet comfortable, and the service is attentive without being intrusive. Overall, the experience was exceptional, and I look forward to returning.

Despite being a fusion restaurant, the Alden was much better with Western style food than Asian inspired food. Their fish and steak dishes were tasty. Cannot stress enough how delicious the dessert was. But my noodle dish was a bit lacking. Made a reservation but still had to wait 15 minutes for a seat, albeit this was on a Sunday.

A

Appetizers were generously portioned and the mains were easily shareable. We treated the experience as a family-style meal. Only downside is the parking situation is horrible due to so many restaurants being located here, but the food itself was delicious. We will be back during the menu change!

The reason why I had to give an overall 3-star instead of a five was because the main dish and the dessert was very off. I felt like the chef wanted to be too creative and did not know that certain flavors does not go with each other. Also, the rsvp was not business like. I made reservations and we couldn't get in until 45 to an hour later. The excuse was someone who was sitting at our reserve table is still there. As a business they should have let those people know that there is a reservation and those people need to go. The good part was that they felt bad and gave us free wine. Steak dish: meat was on point, sauce was an off putting color that made me nervous because it reminded me of a kids yogurt. The flavor was not great and the color made the dish look low quality. Thai dessert: pudding was great but a chef has to be very careful with Thai basil as its very strong and will never go with a dessert. The coconut puddle was also off because it had a curry taste and curry does not do well as a dessert. Salad: I see that he was trying to be fancy, but the uncut lettuce should have been bite sizes as they are not easily cuttable like an iceberg lettuce or other types of lettuce. Popcorn: steak seasoning sprinkled on it. It did not scream unique. Other than that, everything else tasted good from other people at my table. This place isn't for me. I would not call it a 5 star restaurant with the food quality.

I hate giving three stars, because we had such incredible high hopes for this dinner but there were quite a few disappointing encounters that occurred on my birthday date night that I’m hopeful was just reflective of an off experience but encourages room for improvement. Our table was slightly delayed, which I understand happens but it was disheartening that from the time we arrived to getting any appetizers was an hours time when we had put in food order almost immediately from being seated. We were also surprised all apps were brought at once vs upon readiness - our oysters ended up warm, which was not as enjoyable when they’re raw and also concerning that maybe they sat. The pork belly was absolutely amazing and had great, unique flavor with complimentary textures so that, we were thrilled with. Our main entrees came out and unfortunately like the oysters, my chicken’s temperature was a miss while my husband’s flank was perfect. The flavors were absolutely stellar; however at room temp, was disappointing that maybe it too had sat and maybe assumptive, but felt that the kitchen’s overall timing was just off on most things. Also, the server asked if we wanted to pick out a dessert to celebrate my birthday so we were excited and chose the mint chocolate, which was also delicious but was then surprised that upon completion they brought a scoop of sorbet as a “comped” dessert. Felt a tad misleading in all truth. With a toddler, we take our date nights maybe too seriously but it’s a cherished time to explore Atlanta’s culinary talents. We’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about The Alden and there were many positives with great flavors, good wine but just our overall experience was a disappointment

This was a tough experience to evaluate, as it took place on New Year’s Eve with a special three-course holiday menu rather than the regular tasting menu. Unfortunately, several tables were not ready at their reservation times, including ours, and we were asked to wait at the bar for at least 30 minutes. I noticed that some guests were offered complimentary cocktails for the delay, though we were not extended the same courtesy. Once seated, the food was unfortunately very disappointing. Dishes arrived cold, were overly seasoned, and overall felt uninspired, which was especially disappointing given the occasion. In addition, we were crammed in between two other tables who are basically on top on each other, but given the size of the restaurant and special occasion, it's understandable. That said, I’m willing to give The Alden another chance, as this may have been a one-off situation due to the holiday crowd and special menu. I sincerely hope that’s the case, and if so, I’ll be happy to update this review!
