This mountain restaurant has been expertly renovated with modern touches and traditional mountain house features. The photos don't quite capture the aroma and flavor of the dishes; you have to go and try them! Unbeatable value!

Excellent. We were there two years ago and it was a welcome return. The place is simple but pleasant. The girls serving us were very kind and friendly. The food was cooked to perfection. The hot and cold appetizers were excellent. The carbonada was special; it melted in my mouth, and I had to mop up the sauce with it. The house red wine by the glass was also good. The black bread semifreddo was excellent. The coffee was good, and they even offered us a tasting of three grappas. Excellent value. Recommended.

Il locale non è eccessivamente raffinato ma molto semplice e accogliente. Il personale gentile e attento a soddisfare le richieste. Con l’intolleranza al lattosio ho potuto mangiare l’arrosto di cervo con la polenta e verdure. L’arrosto era buonissimo! Il prezzo della cena assolutamente adeguato.

Piatti buoni e abbondanti, tipici della cucina valdostana, purtroppo la scelta del menù è limitata e i dolci (in particolare le creme) sono piccoli.

Tutto buonissimo!!!prezzi giusti, ma porzioni piccole. Sopratutto i dolci, deliziosi ma troppo piccoli. Locale accogliente e pulitissimo. Do 4 stelle al posto di sosolo per le porzioni piccole.

The food is very good. I would gladly return. My only suggestion would be to improve the Valtellinese soup, as it was lacking a bit of broth!

A good place to eat. The atmosphere is simple, rustic, mountain-style, with wood-accented furnishings. The staff is friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Traditional Aosta Valley dishes are well-prepared. We were pleased that a comment we made to the owner was taken "right," a suggestion for which she thanked us: the addition of a few more vegetable dishes and the option of having some dishes, especially the first courses, with the "no meat or derivatives" option. This does not change the menu, but simply with an asterisk next to the dish, where possible. The La Galette is excellent, a soft crepe stuffed with Jambon de Bosse and Aosta blue cheese, and the chestnut spaetzle with Aosta blue cheese and a sprinkling of Jambon de Bosse are very good. The panna cotta with strawberry coulis is equally delicious. Good value. One piece of advice: I would price the desserts better. This, of course, is based on our personal experience.

Practically the only restaurant/trattoria open in Mellier during our stay. We dined there two nights in a row, sampling a few dishes from the menu. The place was nice and the service was friendly. Traditional dishes made with humble ingredients like stale bread and polenta deserved larger portions, especially the first courses and desserts. The latter, admittedly, cost €3.50, but they're small.

The girl in the room, as well as being extremely kind, was also very nice and immediately put us at ease. The cuisine is simple but well presented and well seasoned. The portions are generous and the products used feel like they are of good quality. Overall a quiet evening, in a friendly, clean and tidy place, eating traditional Aosta Valley dishes and spending the right amount.

Senza infamia e senza lode. Il posto non é in una bellissima zona, si affaccia direttamente sulla strada, ma la vista é gradevole. Il locale si presenta con un'aria un po' demodé e poco curata. La qualità dei cibi é ottima, ma i piatti, nonostante siano buoni, non hanno quella spinta che ti porta a dire "wow" e le porzioni sono modeste, arrivi a mangiare serenamente antipasti, primi, secondi con contorno fatto di polenta concia e dolce. Il personale é cortese e simpatico e i prezzi nella media: 2 antipasti misti, 4 primi, 4 secondi, 4 dolci, 3 caffé e vino per 130€ circa. I secondi sono ottimi, ottimo il daino e buona la polenta concia. Buoni i primi e sufficenti i dolci. A fine pasto ti fanno fare una degustazione di grappe, lasciandoti direttamente sul tavolo 5/6 bottiglie di grappa da bere senza limiti e questa é una bella cosa. Ho mangiato in altri agriturismi a Champorcher e devo dire di aver mangiato meglio

This roadside bar and restaurant is a great place to stop for refreshments after a hike or simply to stop by. Local cuisine with some Nepalese twists. The dishes and presentation are excellent. Several dining rooms are available, but parking is limited. The staff is courteous and friendly. The cured meats, such as polenta concia, are the star, as is the carbonada. The selection of liqueurs and grappas is excellent.

Our group of 5 had very good food but absolutely terrible service... our server had no time or interest in serving us. She was truly rude and this had an impact on our whole experience:(
