We just had a wonderful breakfast at Cravings! I’d say the best breakfast in town. The corned beef hash is delicious and the addition of green onions in this dish really elevates the flavor. The French toast is also really yummy. I’m happy they offer an upgrade of 100% pure maple syrup. They also have the best latte I’ve found in town as well. They serve locally roasted organic espresso!! I love the alternative milk selection as too. Soy milk is the best dairy substitute imo and their latte was divine. Such a treat!
The drink menu has something for everyone. The portion sizes were excellent and the food was delicious 😋 it was my first time in Chester and I certainly hope to return again! The half serving of Cherizo Benedict is pictured. Also, we ordered the corned beef hash.
A magical little spot in Chester, CA. My wife and I enjoyed a black coffee with our breakfast (Rusty Roof Coffee). I'm told that it was local roster. I was tempted to take advantage of the free refills! We really loved the attached bookstore and the gorgeous atmosphere. I enjoyed one of their corned beef dishes, made with their own home made corned beef, while my wife enjoyed a wonderful goat cheese and spinach scramble. Tucked away in the indoor window seating made for a wonderful little stop in the mountains. If you get the chance, we encourage a visit!
Stopped in for breakfast, it was our first time here. The place was packed, 4th of July weekend and several large groups. The staff was great even with how busy it was. We had the bacon waffle, the soCal scramble and the settlers dish. Everything was delicious. Very filling, large portion sizes. I really enjoyed that they displayed artists work for sale. There is additional parking in the back.
Great local diner with kind staff and delicious food. There is both inside and outside seating available. There is a also a bookstore and delicious pastries/coffee dot purchase. I had the biscuits and gravy and they were delicious. My friend got a scramble. Will be back the next time I'm in the area!
After being greeted with our service dog, right away staff asked if they can give our dog water. We ordered Socal scrambled, French toast, Breakfast burrito, Settlers breakfast and waffle on side. Food was amazing, all personal very helpful, professional and nice. I can highly recommended this place, food, service...
Excellent service, cute little roadside restaurant, and fantastic tasting food! Stop by and you will never stop craving their food. We were randomly driving through town and needed to stop for food. We saw this place open and made a stop for brunch. We are glad we chose this place.
One of the place you don't want to miss. Very friendly staff with heart welcoming to our Czechoslovakian Vlčák service dog. The food we choose is outstanding.
We went to Cravings for the first time today and we were pleasantly surprised! Great atmosphere, nice outdoor seating, very friendly staff, delicious lattes, and a book store attached! What a great spot! We will definitely return.
Wonderful food in a cozy setting right by a creek. We had the shrimp po’ boy special (so flavorful!) and the reuben (delicious!). Friendly staff topped off a great visit.
Love this place! They are definitely the best coffee shop/cafe around, which is often reflected in how busy they are! The outdoor patio is super cute, and stretches to the back as well (plus, dog friendly!). The drinks are phenomenal, and they have so many tasty options. They can also make so many other drinks that aren't directly listed. Unfortunately I'm just not a fan of their brand of chai, it needs to be mixed reallyyy well or you'll get a clump of spices in your mouth. Otherwise it would just be awesome if they got a rewards/punch card 😊 So far I've only had the breakfast but it was delicious! The parfait is great and has so many toppings, they just don't all seem to go together that well... (apples, strawberries, & grapes, and then cranberries, dried mandarin, & pumpkin seeds?) Toppings definitely outweighed the yogurt, but I prefer that! I can't wait to come back and try more of their food.
Fantastic, service food and atmosphere. Very country / classy feel. Everything was fantastic! Would come back if in this area again!
Great foods and service! Super friendly and fast, even with lots of customers. And we were a party of 6 after a great weekend
I ride my motorcycle here once a year from Sacramento for breakfast.. Wonderful staff, delicious food, adorable atmosphere. So happy they are in business. Don't forget to buy a book.
One-stop shopping for coffee, pastries, books, novelties, tourist brochures (Including birdwatching and campgrounds around Lake Almanor), lunch on the patio, and other delights! Pretty astonishing for an otherwise remote, two-horse town. As of Summer 2019, they were closed on Tuesdays.

This is the only place we went to breakfast while we stayed in Chester because we liked it so much. The waitress was very friendly and helpful.
Amazing local place for breakfast! We came each morning during our stay in Chester. Serving sizes are more than enough. Enjoyed the fresh fruit as well!! Wish I would have taken pictures of our meals!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
The food and service here is just wonderful. But even more amazing are the people. As I paid the bill I mentioned casually in conversation that it was my birthday. On the way out I was shocked to encounter the full staff standing by the door with a small apple pie and a lit candle. They proceeded to sing happy birthday to me. It was one of the most kind and memorable things that have happened to me in a long time. I’ll never forget it.

Loved our brunch at Cravings! Christie, the owner, was warm, helpful, and full of great recommendations. When we didn’t love the butter pecan and our friends didn’t enjoy the Mexican drink, she graciously swapped them out. We tried the French Toast, Settlers Breakfast, and Granola Bowl—the granola was our top pick. It’s a bit on the pricier side, but totally worth it for a quality brunch experience in town.
We were recommended to this place by a local. Very good recommendation, thank you. Good food, my wife had a Philly cheese steak that could have had more meat in it. My Ruben was fine. Service was pretty quick. Place was a bit stuffy, better ventilation would be nice. Coffee was good. Cute bookstore is attached with internal access.

Today I went into cravings with my family for some breakfast, specifically the biscuits and gravy as my buddy swore by it. The service was great and the food was served quite quick. I tried the biscuits and gravy, but it was quite bland and not necessarily to my liking. Nonetheless it was edible and I'm not one to waste food, so I ate it all with a bit of salt and pepper and a lot of tapatio. My little brother got some country potatoes with his food which weren't necessarily terrible but felt a bit undercooked. My Mom liked her French toast but once she got to her last 2-3 bites she found some mold. The waiter calmly explained that the bread they order does not contain preservatives and molds easily when there is moisture in the bag. We received half off the French toast and a free bearclaw for our troubles. Overall the service was absolutely amazing, but the food wasn't necessarily to my liking.
