Not going to lie , at first I saw the wings arrive at my table and I second guessed my decision. But … whoa these may have been some of the best wings I’ve ever tried. The Galbi was ridiculously good! Monica’s service was great. She is a sweetheart! Do yourself a favor and try this place out!
I would like to say thank you for making my game of pool present along with the service that was provided during my time here. So if your looking to have a bite to eat this is one spot I could recommend also if your looking to play a partner a game of pool great pool table along with the sticks
Best boba and a hot, satisfying bowl of bulgogi sundobu in the middle of the day at this welcoming family restaurant. It’s also a great place to gather with friends for a game of pool and play your brand of music on a high tech digital juke box after hours. Check out the menu online.
Wow. Never would have I thought I’d find great Korean food in Chula Vista. We were warmly greeted and welcomed by Nick, who was so friendly. He told us we could sit wherever we wanted. The inside of the restaurant is spacious and clean. There’s a pool table and tv playing music. My dad would’ve appreciated the 80’s hits being played. There’s also a full bar. We ordered our food through a QR code. Our selections were; bulgogi fries (my favorite), Ramen with bulgogi and an egg, and chicken bibimbap bowl for my husband. The bulgogi on the French fries were marinated soooo good. I loved the flavor. The sauce topped on it was fire too. The fries were cooked to crisp perfection. At first, I thought the ramen was ok. It came out piping how and was steaming until the end of our dinner. But I took it home for leftovers and it was a great decision. The bulgogi was tender and the flavors aren’t too salty. The bibimbap bowl was a great choice for my husband. He cleaned that bowl up. Whenever we’re craving Korean food again, we’ll come to Spoon House :)
After driving by so frequently, I decided to stop in. The food was so rich and delicious. I really enjoyed and would recommend the rice cake/fish cake appetizer and the ramen. (I got it not spicy, but you can order spicy) The broth of the ramen was really savory! Also, a full bar is a bonus. We had the margarita and the Paloma. Hopefully, they can, in the future, further expand a possible cocktail menu?? Just a thought😋
A new Korean spot in CV….yes please!!! My favorite food (after Mexican). And the food is delicious! My daughter and I got the bibimbap and the mandu. Seriously some of the best I’ve had. I’ve eaten at almost every Korean restaurant on Convoy area. I must say this is up there as the best. The portions are large too! The staff are friendly and welcoming, the restaurant is very clean, we feel at home. Photo: The portions are so large I brought leftovers to work. Yummy!!!
I am local to the area and I just got to say that this spot is a nice little hidden gem. There are not too many options on third avenue and I am happy I have this spot a chance. Delicious Korean food made fresh. The owner is an older Korean woman who makes the food herself. Our waiter was very nice and provided excellent service as well. Also, they have a full bar and serve cocktails. The Kimchi fried rice was one of my faves. I recommend using their sauces, especially their hot sauce.
We had a delicious dinner at this new Korean restaurant we ordered the Sundubu Jjigae - Hot Stone Soup and the Spicy Pork Plate. The staff has great at the food recommendations. I am just starting to venture into Korean Cuisine, and this experience will definitely have me coming back to try more items off their menu. 🥰
Only spot that can make this dish authentically in Southbay, they had a pool table and it was disappointing that I wasn’t able to bring a partner with me because it looked like it wanted to be played 😀 jukebox is touch tunes, appreciate that cause that means my tokens from all the other places that have it also can be used here. Really clean and the staff was exceptional with their service. Surprised I didn’t see anyone come in while I ate. The recipes here are too good to be this underground.
Stumbled upon this place by accident. We were looking for a spot to watch the padres v dodgers game and nowhere was available so we decided to give it a shot. It was pretty darn delicious. Food was savory and fresh. Service was attentive and friendly. Definitely going back and bringing my crowd! Thanks for a great experience.
Food is great the service is awsome. They have bar area just for drinkers and they have a pool table.
The food is worth any wait this place has. It has a lot of flavor that is strong and genuine to Korean cooking. The service was great too. I recommend eating there not just once, not twice, but at least three times.

I love that there’s a great Korean restaurant in Chula Vista. We’ve been here a handful of times and it’s been great each time. Had the pleasure of spending my birthday here this year. The beef bulgogi is so good, and my wife and daughter love the ramen. We will be back!

Great spot for lunch. The atmosphere had a fun, laid-back vibe and the music playing in the background was a great touch that really helped liven up the meal and keep the energy up in the space. There’s also a pool table at the bar, which adds a cool social element if you’re hanging out with friends or looking to relax for a bit. The food came out extra hot, which is always a good sign that things are being cooked fresh and served right away. I’d definitely recommend the specialty fries—they had a nice kick of heat and great flavor. Perfect for sharing with the table. Service was smooth and the overall experience was enjoyable. The only downside was the price point. The total came out to about $78 with tip for three appetizers, two teas, and one Tito’s, which felt a bit steep for a casual lunch. That said, the quality of the food, the lively atmosphere, and the little touches like the music and pool table still made it a solid spot worth checking out.
My sister recommended this restaurant and I can’t thank her enough. I have picked up my orders to go and everyone is so friendly and the food is amazing. My husband and I will be back to dine in soon. 10/10 without a doubt!

We tried this place for dinner, cute little contemporary diner vibe. It does have a diner self seating. The menu is short and simple with ramen, and bulgogi options. We tried the chicken fried rice too. The food was delicious! I enjoyed the fried rice the most! You order at the counter and food will be brought to your table. We didn't wait long for our food. There is street parking with meters free after 6pm. Nice place for a quick delicious meal!
I ordered a rice based dish, and I don't like rice that much. I would order something else next time. The service was great. The lady (owner?) added the sauces and mixed it for me. 😊
The margaritas here are so good! 👌🏻 The fries were just perfect. The only thing would be the ramen tasted like out of the instant noodle box, but overall, it was good 👍🏻

staff were nice to lend me some coins for the parking in front of the restaurant but the food was mid. its not a homey feeling korean restaurant but more like a bar set-up. food could definitely improve.

I frequently walk through downtown Chula Vista and decided to give Spoon House Korean Kitchen a try. From the street, their A-frame sign advertising an enticing happy hour—$8 margaritas—caught my eye. In the mood for some comforting Korean dishes, I went in with hopeful expectations. I ordered a margarita and the Korean fried wings. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The margarita arrived glowing bright green, clearly made with a cheap pre-made mix rather than fresh ingredients. The server informed me the wings would take a bit longer since they’re twice-fried, which I appreciated—I’m always happy to wait for extra crispy wings glazed in a proper sweet and spicy Korean sauce. However, what I received fell far short. While the wings had a crispy texture, the sauce was lackluster and lazily poured over the top instead of being properly tossed and coated. This business has potential due to its prime location in the heart of downtown Chula Vista, especially since there are no other comparable Asian cuisine spots nearby. However, there were too many red flags to overlook. The restaurant was noticeably empty, and after my experience, I understood why. They advertise free billiards—an odd attraction for a Korean restaurant—and have a side party room available to rent for $100. The food and drink program both need serious improvement, and even the name, "Spoon House," feels more fitting for a soup spot or an American diner than a Korean establishment. Ultimately, I have no plans to return and would recommend exploring other dining options instead.

Food was extremely bland, we ordered bulgogi (it was not good), korean chicken (wrong sauce used, was almost like they used tomato puree), spicy pork was decent. All in all this wasn't authentic korean food in my opinion. Price was high as well, portions are small, and they don't give the korean side dishes like kitchen and bean sprouts.

This was actually the worst food I ever had lol. Everything tasted terrible. I got the soon tofu soup and teokbokki and they both tasted like soap? Nothing tasted like authentic Korean flavors. Everything is way too expensive for it tasting like crap. They charged me 2 dollars for 3 slices of american cheese... Service was alright. The atmosphere was awful. They played loud, droning house music the entire time with bright lighting and echoing acoustics. Total headache. I am genuinely baffled how this place got the stars it did, do not come here
