Recensioni di Bella's Clayton
We were in TI for a family reunion at the family cottage on Murray Island. Stopped here for chicken salad on croissant and it was great. Pasta salad was good also.
We enjoyed an absolutely delicious lunch. Can’t wait to get back there next year. Highly recommend Bella’s We bought onion bagels to bring home. Wish I would’ve known how delicious they were. I would’ve bought more. Absolutely best bagels that I have had in many many years
We just grabbed some bake goods but they were great. Staff was friendly and the place has a nice atmosphere.
Excellent food, setting and service. As someone who can’t eat gluten, dairy or chicken, I typically have limited (and disappointing) options when eating out. This was NOT the case with Bella’s! I had a delicious meal and was very pleased with the whole experience. The same was true of everyone in our party. I highly recommend Bella’s.
Best spot in Clayton as far as I can tell! Menu features a great selection including a great lobster roll, creative sandwiches, a delicious looking raw tuna salad, and an excellent lobster bisque (which you can also buy in to-go containers). Besides the menu, they have a lovely garden bar as well as lakefront seating with various levels, some of which is covered. Finally, we were lucky enough to stumble in upon live music at just the right volume (loud enough to enjoy, not to loud to hear each other). For now, this is my number one recommendation in town.
This place is AMAZING! It looked like an almost full house when we got there, but the wait time was minimal. You get your coffee before you even get to your table. I wish all restaurants did that. We got a table out by the water. The view and breeze from the water was great. The staff is super friendly. And the food is A++, and for a "touristy" area the prices are quite reasonable. I'll be going back tomorrow for more of that banana bread french toast!
A perfect place to eat scrumptious food rain or shine. We ate on a rainy day, but the company was sunny. Delicious lobster bisque with half a chicken salad with Walnuts and Cranberries. Very thick Multi grain bread made it perfect. Friends got fish tacos that were divine.
The best fish tacos I’ve had in a while! Was such a lovely spot on the water and our server was the sweetest! Would recommend going there to anyone!
The food was delicious. The servings were very large. They make their own bread which is amazing. They also offer their own lattes and espresso drinks
Great food with an awesome atmosphere. Eating right on the water along the ST Lawrence River doesn't get any better, in my opinion, in the 1000 Islands.
I loved Bella's! Right on the glorious St. Lawrence River, this popular breakfast/brunch spot on the river is perfect! We sat outside on the patio overlooking the water and it was lovely. The offerings are delicious and creative and although there is a crowd there, the line moved quickly and we were seated within 15 minutes. The service was great! Our waitress knew that it would be a great idea to get the kids' orders in first, which made for a great morning! Everyone was happy! Win win!
Lovely place to enjoy any meal. The food was great, as was the service. The outside seating overlooked the water and islands. We truly enjoyed it and plan on returning.
My close friend and I ordered food from this place. I was so upset that I didn't take a picture of our food (lunch menu). They are super delicious and very fresh!! She ordered fish tacos. Mine was little unique. I tried not to eat so much carbs as I ate a lot of them over the weekend. Lol. ANYWAY, I ordered chicken pesto panini, but I replaced them with more basil. O... M... G... It was unexpected delicious. I cut the chicken cutlet in cubes and put the pesto sauce in chicken and salad (original as a side). I tossed them very well. I became so addicted enough for me to come back a following day. I enclosed the menu (breakfast and lunch) pictures in case that you want a quick access to menu. Bonus: one female server with blonde hair knows ASL, which helped taking our order so smooth. I was beyond grateful for her. I kinda wish I could catch her name, so I could give her a huge praise.
This place is spectacular, not just the food, but the service, the cleanliness and fine decor of the establishment, great location, plenty of delicious items to choose from and a great wayerfront view. My wife and I are avid foodies. We visited here for the 1st time. The owner Melissa is spot on in all the details of an amazing restaraunt and joyfull eating experience. All of the food is homemade with handcrafted breads and deserts. Coffe is fresh ground and delicious. We observed food bought out to adjoining tables wich was well proportioned, we split the fried egg and homemade corned beef hash, shown in the posted photo, each half filled the whole plate. This was served with my choice of homemade honey whole wheat bread. Staff were well attentive, always at the ready to serve. The owner greeted us as we left, and when we told her we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary, she treated us to a slice of her favorite cake, the Blueberry Lemon Marscapone Cake, made at the restaurant. This place is a Must try! Location, menue ambience and scenery, the perfect ingredients of a Fine Establishment!
Riverside dining in Clayton in a relaxing environment is what to expect. A small menu but something for everyone. The bakery in front was a pleasant surprise.
Are you serious...Misty is a ray of Sunlight at every hour...thus comes through in her foods...she cooks from her heart which comes through in every bite...wow, she is the one to prepare each dish with her staff of course...the Ladies in the front that represent this business are just as beautiful as the name...Misty, love you girl...thank you for doing it right & giving my Palette something GREAT Misty, showcase of desaerts, blueberry pancakes, Lobster egg Benedict, side of potatoes, & veggie scramble
It’s a perfect diner, cafe and bakery, for families and solo travelers (me). There is a river view, roofed dining patio, sidewalk patio or interior seating. The atmosphere was cheerful and relaxing - the servers were flexible and kind. I consider it a great place for an early morning coffee and place to relax and plan.
Such a nice spot! We came here with a friend after visiting Boldt Castle. The staff were so friendly and nice, and our food came quickly. I got the “Grown Up Grilled Cheese” and a lavender lemonade. Everything was delicious. I also got a Reese’s cookie on my way out from the bakery and it was so good! ❤️
We just love going to Bella's in the summer time one of our favorite places. We have been there for breakfast and lunches we always have enjoyed our food and of course the atmosphere, what an awesome view of the St Lawrence. The service is great the staff is so friendly and accommodating we always ask for a table right beside the water, we don't mind waiting for one if we have to but they always are able to give us a fantastic table which is just part of the dining experience at Bella's . I just love their lobster rolls always fresh delicious stuffed with lobster and not over dressed just the right amount of mayo . My husband loves to get their cranberry turkey panini he said it is tasty , always fresh with the right amount of crispness not dry. For breakfast I like to get their Sir lobster Benedict always done perfectly with my eggs with a runny yoke just the way I like...yum. My husband loves to get their Breakfast burrito and he likes to add sautéed onions and bacon to it yummy full if all the goodies 3 eggs, cheese, diced potatoes all wrapped up in a spinach tortilla served with sour cream and salsa...so yummy. We can't wait to come back next summer, we miss you already Bella's
Loved loved loved it. From the servers to the host to the absolute amazing food and view!! Don't second guess yourself or not want to stand in line. It is totally worth it. I will be coming here everytime I am in A.Bay. Thank you Bella's you did wonderfully! If I could give more then 5 stars I would.
One of the best places on the river to eat. Breakfast is one of the most unique and best in the area. Absolutely beautiful river side seating to enjoy the river view during your meal. Daily specials are very unique and excellent. Staff and service are absolutely top notch and excellent. Our go to breakfast spot in the area. Nothing beats a good mimosa with breakfast.
Had an excellent lunch experience. Their new mocktails are very good. Our server was courteous and attentive despite how busy they were. The kitchen was quick and on point. The food was excellent and all around a very nice atmosphere and experience. Price is on point for the quality and service. Highly recommend if you're visiting Clayton.
Bella's is a great place to eat breakfast while enjoying the St. Lawrence. There is a coffee bar and bottomless cup of coffee. One may try a variety of blends. We had the most delicious Banana Bread French Toast. It was served with fresh banana slices, candied walnuts, and whipped cream. It was like having dessert for breakfast, and no syrup was needed. The only con was that half way through our meal, a group of very aggressive bees tried to get into our food. We tried moving to another table but they followed us. Despite the bees we enjoyed eating at Bella's.
Fantastic! If you would like a nice meal overlooking the river then I would recommend here. It gets a little chilly, so remember your sweater! They do have blankets available if you forget one! The food was wonderful and the service was fast.
Great food and you sit on the waterfront, so there’s great scenery. My family likes coming here in the summer on nice days. It’s a great place to chill, enjoy great food, and unwind after a long work week.
Bella's sits waterfront on the river I grew up on, the St. Lawrence. This restaurant and the surrounding town of Clayton are just a glimpse of the beauty emanating from the Thousand Islands. Every meal, pastry, dessert, drink, and coffee purchased has never been anything less than positively delectable and undoubtedly worth while. The cafe is fabulous, the Monte Cristo is to die for, and the Butter Toffee cake... my favorite for a reason. The atmosphere and food are excellent im addition to the service which is generally quite good (excluding our last experience with a malcontent waitress). Nevertheless, if you're in yhe area, Bella's should be #1 on your bucket list.
My first time in Clayton and first time visiting Bella. There was a small line out the entrance which instantly told me this was going to be good. The line moved quickly and my friend and I were walked down to the lowest desk to a two top right off the water. Just sitting there would have been 5 stars but then the food came. I decided on the pastrami Rueben because of the legendary dressing from the area it originated. How could I order something else?! The sandwich was the best pastrami Rueben I’ve ever had. Unlike a corned beef, the pastrami was thinly sliced and cooked to perfection. Perfect amount of sauerkraut and dressing on deliciously toasted on toasted marble rye bread. I could only eat half, the portions were large, but wanted to eat the whole thing because it was so good. The service was great and our waitress was so friendly and helpful. If you’re in Clayton and see a line at Bella’s, don’t let it stop you. It’s definitely worth the wait. Oh, and, the cocktails and pastries are the best on the river.
Bella’s is one of our favorite spots in Clayton, NY, and for good reason. The service is consistently warm and attentive, and the beautiful waterfront views make every visit feel special. Their pastries and coffee beverages are absolutely delicious—perfect for starting the day or enjoying an afternoon treat. The menu is simple but done well. I especially enjoy their fresh, flavorful salads, while my children are big fans of the lobster roll. The food always feels thoughtfully prepared without being overcomplicated. Parking and wait times for a table can be tricky on busy weekends, so plan ahead, but once you’re seated, the experience is worth it. The bathrooms are always clean, and the atmosphere—combined with the great staff and scenic views—is exactly why we keep coming back. Bella’s has a charm that makes it a must-visit whenever we’re in town.
Sitting on the patio with a commanding view of The River is reason enough to visit. The staff are courteous and friendly, more than would be expected. Top it off with great food and cocktails, we will certainly be back. As an aside, even the sandwiches are steeply priced, so not a budget friendly destination.
Very rarely do I give a five star review across the board, but if one place deserves it, it is Bella's. The food, service and atmosphere are amazing. I just had a lovely breakfast on the water and I can't wait to go back again. Congratulations on 20 years in business. You really know how to do it right!
Soup and 1/2 sandwich can’t get any better. We ordered each Roasted Red Pepper, Lobster Bisque and Lentil. We each had a sample and all three were perfection. The soup came with 1/2 chicken salad sandwich on multigrain bread and mixed greens salad. It was a perfect lunch for three friends. Katy, our hostess, was attentive, friendly and helpful with flavors and suggestions. Wonderful lunch. Chocolate Cake Key Lime Blueberry Marsecapone
Bella's is a must stop when visiting the Thousand Islands area! Wonderful food and impeccable service. We were there for a late breakfast, which is always delicious, but my gosh, the view you get while dining is nothing short of amazing! Watching marine traffic, from behemoth freighters, down to small personal watercraft is a great way to spend your Sunday morning. But what really blew away my expectations was when our server was able to sweet talk the kitchen into making us a lunch sandwich to go for our afternoon boat outing! Even though it was still an hour before changeover to lunch. Jessica B, thank you, thank you, thank you! That pastrami sure tasted great! My husband's corned beef hash with eggs was one of the best he's had according to him. And my everything bagel with cream cheese, smoked salmon, capers, red onions, cucumbers and tomatoes was nothing short of divine! And my almond joy coffee...delicious! We took a coconut macaroon and a half moon cookie to go with our sandwich and loved every bite! I highly recommend!
WOW! All I can say is that this is one of the best breakfasts we have ever had! My husband loved the French toast and i had the blueberry pancakes which were amazing. I also had an egg white omelette that was delicious and filling. Plus the views were breathtaking! Five stars all the way!
What a gem! We were looking for a breakfast place and so glad we had it at Bella’s. The music set the mood - Vanessa May, The Greatest Showman - whoever responsible for selecting- Thank you! Riverfront restaurants always a win. Bella’s went above and beyond to make it comfortable and warm. Service was good, almost no waiting. Each dish was designed and delicious. It is not your typical breakfast place, it’s a restaurant, so a bit pricey but worth it. Dogs are allowed on outside patio!
Food was absolutely delicious and staff was friendly and accommodating. However…there we’re bees everywhere! I understand there is only so much you can do about them outside, but they were inside the dining area, front desk, and inside the pastry case. Management and the owners need to do something about this issue, I felt bad for the workers that did their best to keep them away. It’s clearly an ongoing issue.
I have been here several times. Breakfast or lunch, cant go wrong. It can get a bit noisy, they have alot of tables and it gets busy. But always a beautiful view of the river and they had live music this time!
Busy busy busy. If you're coming here for weekend brunch during the summer, expect to wait. Once inside you'll first be amazed by how big the dining area actually is and elated by the watery views of the Thousand Islands. We did find it quite funny there a third of the menu was food options while the rest was speciality drinks. But we won't leave disappointed. Try the lobster Benny. The bloody mary isn't the best of had but go for the boozy coffee instead to round out the true brunch experience.
Good food. Had a Ruben. Very good. Little light on wait staff. Great view of the river.
Meal was wonderful, especially the dessert! Can't beat the waterfront seating. The service was excellent! Would've preferred the delicious fish tacos with whole fish pieces rather than flaked fish.
This is more of a 4.5 for me but I wouldn’t want to bring down their ratings because it is a beautiful establishment right on the water with delicious (rich) food. We came here for lunch after having tried their baked goods the day before that a local shop in Thousand Islands town had “imported.” The blueberry crumb cake was fluffy like a pillow and the chocolate chip cookie was very sweet but so good. So we went for lunch and shared the grown up grilled cheese (I think?). Served with caramelized onions, marmalade (interesting, light touch) and bacon with a side salad. I think they should allow the side salad to upgrade to Caesar and not charge a full $8 for the Caesar side. The salad was okay but nothing overly special. The bowl of lobster bisque was good but very heavy on the cream. The sandwich was very rich and tasty - just be warned it’s heavy! Sitting on the water was absolutely beautiful and the waitress was friendly. We then ordered iced coffee, an oatmeal cookie and the blueberry mascarpone cake to go. These last 2 desserts weren’t as good as the ones we had had the day prior but still good overall. I’d recommend checking out this cute restaurant with plenty of seating and amazing views.
View is beautiful. Our waitress was lovely but the short, blond haired hostess was incredibly rude and unaccomodating. We had a group of 11 people. She was rude to my elderly, over 80 years old friends visiting from Canada. She would not allow them to sit near us when there were other tables open. She also said in a very short and rude tone, "Your party needs to get seated and stay seated." If we hadn't already made plans to meet there, we would have walked out and found a place that appreciated our business. In visiting Clayton, we will not go to Bella's again because of this hostess. Is the view worth rudeness? Up to you.
I would like to leave a review of Bella's food and service and even restaurant in general. However, my husband and I have been there on 3 separate occasions, after seeing their commercials. But, we've received a "we're closed." People are in the doorway which leads me to think they're open. Confused. Their commercials don't say anything about them only serving breakfast and lunch. No dinner or late lunch...they close at 3:00. Don't go on their commercials only...lesson learned, check the Google information...if that's correct.
A busy place for breakfast and more. We came at 11:40 or so and were asked to wait in line. Then after 12 they let everyone in as the place is big but then they said it’s past breakfast menu. Atmosphere in place is good, food was less good for kids. We asked for the burger with no cheese. It came with cheese so the waiter took it back to kitchen. Then it came back the same burger with some cheese scraps left over. Waiter said it was the last burger. I’m not sure and I am sure this is not the expected service.
The view is the real draw of this location, along with the fresh baked goods. Attention is obviously paid to make sure every dish is delicious. The downsides are the prices are super high for lunch food, even for a tourist location and that it closes at 3 p.m. Also, every low priced beer on the menu was unavailable... seemed like a bait and switch, and no upgrades were offered at the lower prices to accommodate. Took some of their fresh baked goods back to our rooms for a treat and they were delightful!
Been coming here for years, both the service and quality were dramatically worse on this visit. I’m not sure if we just had a bad server or what, but no one came to take our order for 25 minutes and we had to ask to have someone please come and wait on us. We also ordered things that never arrived and had to make sure they weren’t on the bill. Such a shame to see such a great breakfast place go downhill.
I was so excited to dine here with my fiance. The view was incredible (except for the bug covered screen). I ordered hot chocolate and it didn’t arrive till after my partner got his meal. When our server brought it it was cold. The potatos were undercooked and the kitchen refused to put the beef hash potatos back on the grill. I felt bad asking the server for service as she seemed busy/annoyed. As we walked out not only did our server do this but 2 other servers snarled at as we walked out to which I said have a great day ladies. We’ve had a great trip but this will not make the itinerary again.
The quiche Friday was runny. Should be more solid filling. Fruit served on small side. Recommend eggs and lobster instead with larger bowl fruit. Good service. 4 people.
We were visiting with a local family as we do every August. Always for decades make our breakfast visit. Had a very nice server who took our order. This year they had live music. Was too load for conversation where we were seated. Said we would like a different spot if possible. Waited outside the bathrooms. A man who I guess was representing Bella’s talked at us. No apology, no offer to give us a quieter table. Our waitress was trying to reseat us. We said we have decided to leave. He said what did they have and was told coffee. We started walking up pay. He said “if you don’t pay I’ll call the police “. We payed and he said I guess I’ll just give your order to the band. Never an apology just an arrogant individual who doesn’t care about customer service. Bella’s has lost some loyal customers even though only once a year for us. The locals are from Clayton and were very apologetic. They will never go back. Went to Koffee Kove just up the street. Great service and great food. I have never left a negative review like this. Have left many positive reviews as well as a positive review of Bella’s prior
Wow how petty can you be.. Good luck deleting this one. I simply commented on their most recent Facebook post with some constructive criticism about the wrong hours on their website and they blocked me so the comment wouldn't show up.... So here we go.. I was in town last Tuesday and was surprised to see they were open as their website states they're closed Tues & Weds. I popped in to see about lunch and they were finishing up lunch service (around 3pm) I stated to the hostess (shorter, older blonde woman) that their website shows they're closed on Tuesdays.. and had I known I would have come earlier but it was my only day in Clayton. The hostess was rude and could not have cared less. No empathy, No apology.. I got a "too bad so sad" kind of look and was basically escorted out as they were closing. I definitely will not ever make a trip back now based on the way this was all handled.. Go to Diprinzio's down the street, You'll have much better food and service!
Food delivered to the wrong table & took about 70 minutes from order to get to us. The owner Matt was one of the most pompous & pretentious people I’ve ever met in my life. He had no care about our service because the food did eventually come out. That’s fair, was just expecting a nicer response from a restaurant that seems to be so classy. Very good food, but seems to be owned by a man who has the customer service of a stubborn 3rd grader. We were offered cookies with a passive aggressive attitude for our long wait. I’d recommend somewhere less busy on a Sunday if you want to enjoy your day and not spend a while in a restaurant! Hope management gets better
