Love this place, and use to go there every couple of weeks when we lived in Cleburne.I have been a fan since they were in the shopping center shared with Big Lots. The food is great. My son is now 22 and has been eating at Barrera's since he was 4. The Salsa is the best, and they aren't stingy with it!

My family has been eating here for YEARS!! Never a disappointment. From their appetizers to their entrees, it's ALL delicious! When you go, ask for Josh to be your server. He's the best in town!

Never a bad experience there other than sometimes you have to wait a little while for a table to become available, but that's only because the food and service are so good everyone always wants to dine there.

I'm not usually one to review, but I must say Barerra's never disappoints! Tonight they were short cook, server, and wait staff. Great Food! Place was super busy but we had attention straight away & minimal wait for our food...which was delicious! I had the grilled fish tacos , you build it yourself, the fish was wonderful, tasty & moist. Others at my table had the avacado hamburger & cheeseburger, they said those were delicious too. This is my new go to place for lunch!

Really good! Not over-kill with cilantro and jalapenos. Perfectly seasoned. The beef fajitas and charro frijoles were so good that I have gone back for them again! Nice staff and I will be bringing friends & family there.

I highly recommend ordering my favorite meal there that happens to not be in the menu. The chicken avocado burger. The chicken is the fajita chicken and then I usually like to add honey mustard. 👌

Today we tried the cheeseburgers which were suggested to us by Marisol. They were excellent, and the hand cut fries were to die for. The service we received from Joshua today was out standing!!!!!

We took dad for his birthday on a Friday night. We're a party of 10, so we had a little bit of a wait, but that's to be expected. Service was great! Josh, our waiter, was attentive and kind. He kept drinks refilled and put up with our jokester crew. I had the chicken flautas that came out piping hot and delicious! The guys said the beef fajitas were nice and tender. Definitely a good spot to stop at! (The only complaint is the waiting area is crazy hot. I'm not sure how much they can control that though. The big windows and the hot August sun was beating down.)

The fajitas were spiced just right and served very quickly. I noticed other patrons were treated as family and addressed by name. A true gem to visit!

Everything about Barrera's is great! We had a party of 14 for lunch. The food was served at the same time and was hot and delicious. The orders were all correct and we had plenty of room. Our waiter, Ferman was fabulous! He was very attentive, friendly and a genuinely kind man. The entire staff was welcoming and friendly. We will be back.

Don't hesitate, just go here. I ordered the tacos to-go and they were generously stuffed and seasoned perfectly. But I have to give a special shout-out to their salsa. It's fresh, vibrant, and has the kind of flavor that makes you want to put it on everything. I'm already planning my next trip back and I'll be asking if I can buy a jar of that amazing salsa to take home. We went there yesterday for lunch and it was busy (we made the comment to each other that if they this busy its going to be good) and had a table within 5 minutes of walking in. I ordered the chicken fajita taco salad and I have to say I haven't tasted chicken fajita meat that good in a VERY long time. My friend got the Tacos Al Carbon and he said it was equally as good. I live in Burleson but will be back!

We love Barrera's restaurant. The food is fresh and normally served quickly. The atmosphere is family seating, tables and booths. Our only glitch is when it is full, it can be quite loud. Most days there us no wait, or only a short wait while they clear a table. Busy days are Friday nights and Saturdays. These busy days can lead up to a 30 minute to hour wait. This just reinforces how good the food is if all the locals want to eat here. Barrera's also offers call in to be picked up orders. This seems to be a popular choice as there's a steady flow of pick up orders. They have a bar in center for full drink choices, simple stool seating at the bar. They offer margaritas, draft beer and more. Menu has Tex-Mex choices and a few American items like a really good Burger! Full meal options and al a carte items available.

Our server josh was amazing. Im normally a stingy old man when it comes to tipping. But josh was excellent. He was there when we needed anything. Had awnsers to any questions of ours. Just made my first experience there wonderful. The food was great too. Definitely recommend those steak fajitas.

Fantastic food very small but simply menu. Been wanting to go here for a bit came in today and wow was it good. We both ordered the taco salad and let me tell ya there wasn’t where the beef being asked they give you a generous portion of protein. Could use a bit more lettuce but that just a suggestion honestly. Personally my fajita salad was perfect wife got ground beef. For sure going to be my go to for a good salad.

Loved the atmosphere! Got the fajita quesadillas. Both chicken and Steak. It came with Sour cream and guacamole. All was very good. I got a full order (4 Halves) and had to take half of it home. The meal came with Chips and Salsa. They did not cost extra. Also, the steak did not cost more than chicken. Also got queso blanco from the appetizer menu. I highly recommend it. Great staff and great service.

Wow! Really good Mexican Food. They, definitely do it right at Barrera's. Staff was on their toes and kept making sure that we were taken care of. Meats were done just right and vegtables were kept nice and crispy. I highly recommend Barrera's.

Great experience. Went here on recommendation from my supervisor and it did not disappoint. Josh was excellent, very attentive and timely service. Food was excellent. Nice touch with a little Pico in the ranch beans. Had the fish tacos and the fish was grilled perfectly and was able to build the taco myself. Nice touch. Classic margarita was excellent as well. Definitely will return when in town. Very vibrant atmosphere.

Several of us ate. Not that impressed. Would eat here again as a group because prices were decent. Flavor was not what expected for as long as it's been there.

Love the atmosphere, the personal service. If you've been there 2-3 times, they know you. It feels as if you're sharing a meal with family and close friends. Unfortunately, Barrera's will close on June 30, 2019. It is going to open again, in one-two months, updated, fresh, new additions to the menu.

First time here. The food was definitely Tex-Mex. Tasted pretty good. Chimichanga was great!! Shrimp quesadillas were good also and huge. The family enjoyed it and our server was very nice and helpful! Heard the burgers are awesome and will go back and try them.

Went in to eat. My wife has a service dog. The manager (owner?) asked to see papers for the dog. THIS IS ILLEGAL. He asked us to leave. NOT FRIENDLY TO PEOPLE WITH SERVICE ANIMALS. UPDATE: We went back and were welcomed. The food is still excellent as is the service.

Chips and salsa were great, beans and rice were great, service was good. The meat on the taco's we ate was a bit bland. Checking out you could tell it was a great family environment and the person checking us out went out of their way to help us with some questions we had about the area. Would definitely return.

Salsa tasted great, had a nice kick. Chips taste like they are from a bag, nothing special. I got chicken quesidilla and it was OK. The guacamole was great though. I would come back and try a different dish.

This will be my second time that I went to barreras. I ordered an enchilada plate with cheese topping. The atmosphere was good and, the beer was good but, I remembered after getting my food why I had only been there one time before. It was tasteless food, the cheese was not good, the tortillas that they use were not good. It was just not authentic Mexican food. I will not be back

First time visit. Probably the best Mexican restaurant in Cleburne that we've tried! Fajita salad was very tasty. Our bartender/server Cheyenne was top notch! We will be back!

I don't know what I expected, but the inside just didn't match a fajita eatery very few seating , bar very prominent when u walk in more like a sports bar feeling . Not like a family restaurant which I guess is what I expected ( I had children with me ) . And the food was ok good proportions not a big selection for children just ok you know like just OK

Shrimp on nachos tasted like chemicals. My boss warned me not to go. My wife and I felt a little upset stomach after. It's the coast. Have fresh shrimp not chemically treated shrimp. It's obvious. We will not try again.

Ordered to go, and the total was higher than it should have been (2 $9 salads and an $11 quesadilla shouldn't be $36...). I also found a large piece of plastic that had been cooked with the meat in one of the salads. With so many good reviews, I had high hopes for this place.

Word of advice…. Go into the restaurant. If you order online, keep in mind for whatever reason they do not provide salsa; even if you pay extra for chips. They want you to pay extra for salsa too. Food is ok but not worth the horrible customer service provided by Daniel Barrera. He was so rude when he told me I got exactly what I ordered. Why order and pay for chips without salsa. In the restaurant, they freely give you salsa.

Waiter was not responding. Food came out cold. Only thing that was good was chips and hot sauce. The beans and rice had a good taste but it was cold. The chicken was hot inside the flauta but the outside tortilla wasnt. They were supposed to be fried. The chicken in the flauta tasted old. There was a waitress there also that was loud and rude!

I came to this place with my mom, and when we were asked what drinks we would like I asked for a UNSWEET tea and my mom asked for a water WITH LEMON and when we got our drink, they were both wrong. My tea was sweet and my mom's water had no lemon. When we corrected the waitress about the mistake, she had a bitchy attitude and roles her eyes and walked away. And thinking we didn't understand Spanish, she went to the back and started to complain like if it was our fault 🙄. The food was okay but it started to make my stomach upset for some unknown reason. There was a few employees cleaning because it was close to closing time and the others stood in a circle talking and eating. I do not recommend this place. Such bad service. Oh and I forgot to mention, we never asked for a to Go box and the waitress just threw them on our table. ☺

Not good. Margarita was watery, beans watery and bland, salsa from a can, chips stale & hard. Fajita onions and green peppers had a little taste but not much. Fajita meat - well, tasted OK, texture was OK. Highly disappointed based on the reviews I read. Portion size was good. Wait staff good so that's the reason for the 2 stars. I won't go back.

Chips and salsa is good. White queso was very good. We won’t be back though. We will stick with our local Mexican food that is authentic in Glen Rose.

Fiance and I came last Saturday night and the hostess was incredibly rude. As soon as we walked in, she was inconvenienced that she had to leave her friends in the table and come greet us. She kept banging our drinks and chips/salsa on the table. We considered walking out, but our waitress was wonderful and overall food was ok. If not for that, this rating would have been a zero. Please hire better people!! Especially for the host stand.

12/10/2022 5:30 PM. I just walked into the restaurant and acknowledged the wait to be seated sign. The restaurant is not busy at all. I waited a few minutes and never got acknowledged. Another group came in and the same thing happened. I went to the restroom and when I came back out I sat down at the bar and got the same result. I got up and left. This place was recommended by a friend which is sad for my 1st visit.

After reading all the positive reviews I was ready to try their food. It smelled amazing, but once I started eating, I was sorely disappointed, especially for what I paid. Do the cooks not have access to ANY kind of seasonings or produce? I don't like spicy, but some onion, cilantro, cumin, garlic, a little salt, some red pepper, even a deseeded jalapeno would have been nice. That was the most bland TexMex I have ever had. Taco Bell has better seasoned whatever it is? Their queso, guacamole, even their salsa, was awful. The majority of the food went in the trash. I won't be trying this place again. Shoutout to the great young man who took my order & actually got it right, which may have been the same one who carried my food to my car. You sir, are an asset to your job!

I ordered food to go via Door Dash. 1 Cheese enchilada and 1 Chicken enchilada. Meal came with Beans and Rice, and Salsa because Salsa rocks. Somehow there was no flavor in either enchilada, it was like eating some sort of flavorless food pellet. I'm a salsa hound, salsa was good but it is salsa fresco, meaning it hasn't been cooked. Meh overall, you'd think a tex-mex restaurant would season something, but not here.

Called in an order to manager. Said it would be ready fast in 10 minutes. Went to pick up order from bartender and my order did not exist. They only had someone else's order that was twice my order. Went to get manager and she tried to make the bartender sell me the wrong order anyway for the second time. Manager asked what I ordered and then refused to admit she just took my order 15 minutes previously. She tried telling the bartender somehow my name was connected with that order instead of admitting she had made a mistake. Made it clear to bartender I know she took the order because I know the voice. She thanked me for saving her from being reprimanded by the manager for something she didn't do. I left and told her the manager does not deserve the business acting like that.

We doordashed an order and received no salsa with our chips. We called and were told you have to order separately. That’s fine, we drive to the restaurant to BUY salsa, we didn’t make a stink, we just went to buy it My husband was approached and yelled at by a woman and chastised in front of the restaurant. Who does she think she is???? HOW DARE she speak to a PAYING CUSTOMER in such a way! We will not be back, which is sad. My extended family and the Barrera family have been friends for 30+ years. Never expected that treatment in their restaurant

This is the worst place I have ever eaten. I ordered a taco salad and my husband ordered the enchilada plate. The lettuce from the taco salad was the only good thing on the dish. The meat had no flavor. The chicken in the enchiladas tasted like canned chicken that had been ground up. The red sauce tasted like it came from a can and even the jalapeno on top of the enchilada had no taste. The cold beer was the only good thing about this meal. The salsa tasted like it came out of a can and had no spice or flavor. We asked the server if they had anything hotter and was told it would be $4.00 for a robust sauce. We passed on that because the chips weren't great either. We would have left, but we were there for a teenagers birthday party and they were enjoying being together. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! YOU WILL BE VERY DISAPPOINTED.

We went to eat dinner, and was waiting to be seated. A lot of employees looked at us but no one would come help. Then some old lady walked up and asked if anyone helped us. Which she kept looking at us for over 5 minutes. So that was a very dumb question! Then she tells us to sit wherever we want. What was the purpose of making us wait to be seated? So we picked a table then she comes over and tells us that we need to move. No reason why or anything. Then she went behind the bar and asked another employee, why would they sit there for. Then the waiter was very short with us, I didnt eat due to retaliation. My wife's food was very bland and looked disgusting. I wont not recommend this place!

Very rude and horrible service. We went to have a drink at the bar and something to eat and waited for about 5 minutes before being approached by a female barkeep who asked if we had been waited on yet in which we replied we hadn't. She then walked off and ignored us along with the other gentleman working the bar. We waited approximately 10 - 15 mins and was even commenting the rudeness but finally had to walk out. Will never go back again just to be treated like that. Horrible HORRIBLE service!

Food was ok, nothing spectacular. Portions are huge but quality could be better for the price paid. The tortillas looked and tasted mass produced, rather depressing. Service was unexpectedly lacking. For an off traffic time of day I would have thought we'd have better service - we were not directed to a table ("sit anywhere over there") no drink or chip or salsa refils were offered, and on paying it took forever to get our change back from cash payment. The atmosphere: the exterior could, at the very least, be ever so slightly inviting - it looks like a hardware store outside. Inside isn't much better. Sparse decor, barely changed from the restaurant that existed 20 years prior. Bathrooms at least were clean.

If I could give this place negative stars I would do it 100% they for one messed up my order that I called in to go. I called them and they were immediately veryyyy rude without even hearing me out first. Then as my sister was eating the food (her food was not messed up) she found not one but two hairs in her fajitas so at that point I was very much over it. I told the lady that I would be coming up there and brining ALL of the food back to just get refund and she said okay. My sister and my friend went to go return the food and to get the money back. As soon as they got there they were immediately rude as soon as they walked in. They refused to give the money back and they also refused to remake the order as well. When my friend and sister got back I called them AGAIN and everyone that I spoke with was rude again. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place AT ALL. Spent $126 and didn’t get the food or my money back either so they pretty much stole from us. Usually we love this place but the waiter isn’t our usual waiter we had tonight never came and asked about my beans they was cold but the bowl was hot so I asked for a Togo container. While everyone else ate there meal I ate chips and salsa and drank my Dr Pepper.

Waitress stole my credit card info. You’ve been warned. Very average food. Used that credit card once in about 3 months, within 30 minutes, multiple charges. Called the restaurant, young lady that said she was the manager didn’t seem to be very interested.

I’ve had several dishes here and have finally decided no more. I’m dumbfounded at the reviews saying this is good/great Mexican food. Rice and beans have no flavor. Salsa is barely spicy. Chips are good at least. Fajita meat is decent but the chicken for the flautas and enchiladas is so ground up, it’s just mush with no flavor. I wish the owners would change something. Horrible food.
