I’m moving to Cobleskill soon and wanted to scope out the town with my sister. Our server, Stacy, was an absolute fantastic blast! She had us crying in tears with laughter and she was so quick on the refills. Loved the energy, the atmosphere and best yet, they had gluten free! Will be coming back with,”Justine!”.
I thoroughly enjoy this place everytime I visit. The food, the staff, the entertainment, and the atmosphere make this one of the best places I've ever been to for dinner. I got the batter dipped fish and chips last night which was simply amazing. I don't know how else to describe it but the haddock was gigantic and the portion of fries was gigantic and the food was so delicious. This is a must visit for anyone traveling in the upstate area. The locals clearly already know and love this place and it's no secret why.
We came here 1-30-21 for dinner.made reservations the night before which I highly suggest you do. Seating is nice and spacious. Hostess was quick and friendly...order the crab cakes for an appetizer. They came quickly. Fresh and tasted great. I ordered the prime rib with grilled shrimp and mashed potatoes with the veggies. Prime rib was cooked to my order. Well seasoned and roasted excellent.. my wife got the prime rib also cooked excellent as ordered. The mashed potatoes and veg were both. Very well. We substituted for extra to have the French onion soup which was so good I wanted a second bowl. 5 stars here and we will be going back.
I can't thank the Bull's Head Inn enough for such a wonderful experience! My now husband and I had a small wedding ceremony and reception at the Inn and could not be happier with the historic and charming atmosphere, incredible food, and attentive staff. The staff were extremely accommodating to all of our needs and went above and beyond, exceeding our expectations. Our guests and family enjoyed use of the tavern after the reception with the added bonus of live music. We plan to come visit the Inn every year to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you again, Bull's Head Inn! You made our wedding day a truly memorable event.
Melissa and Stacy (I hope I spelled "Stacy" correct) made our experience wonderful! Their energy and attention to us was a lot of fun and the downstairs tavern has a very nice rustic atmosphere.
Stacy and Amy at the cellar bar were absolutely incredible! We stumbled across this place while visiting Howe Cavern and the food plus the bartenders made this place a stop to remember. We love them so much ❤️ -Alyssa & Haydon
Little pricey but great food. We sat downstairs in the basement bar and loved the atmosphere. Stacey was our server and bartender and she was absolute gem! She also makes the best old fashion around!
The service and food are consistently excellent. I love the atmosphere in the cellar tavern, but in the restaurant I feel like the whole room can hear our conversation.
Very quaint pub restaurant, wonderful atmosphere as soon as you enter. History filled place to be sure. On a Friday in the fall we stopped in while passing thru Cobleskill. A wonderful waitress introduced herself and read all the specials. Had a red ale which she brought right away. Ordered the cauliflower broccoli soup which was amazing. Chunks of cauliflower and a finish every drop taste. Then we had the sandwich special, the prime rib on ciabatta roll. Could not believe it when the order came out. A full strip of prime rib steak on the roll. Not sliced to look bigger like so many places. One of the best sandwiches we've had ANYWHERE. Very fairly priced for the size and quality. Paid the upcharge for the side salad which was generous and nicely made. Total experience with the meal and room ambience was top notch. Must go back again to try more of the menu when in town.
Had a girls night dinner with sisters and nieces. Everything was awesome! Our server was Amy, and she was very attentive, helpful with suggestions, and made our night very pleasant. I would highly recommend this business!
Walking up you will see this place has been here since 1802. There is a reason for that. Great atmosphere. Attentive staff. Music that rocks but not so loud as to not be able to have conversation. Had the chicken pot. Only negative is it is so hot you may burn your tongue eating this tasty meal. Luckily for me I have a large mouth and was able to wrap my lips around the club sandwich. For apps the cheesy Mac bites are super. Highly recommend stopping here!!!
Oh this place was very good. Live music in the basement, excellent wait staff (Stacie crushed it), solid drinks, really flavorful food, large portions, tons of gluten-free options, and just overall A+ experience. I’d absolutely come back
Excellent and cooked to perfection NY Strip and Prime Rib. Thank you for making my 30th wedding anniversary dinner so delicious.
Bull's Head Inn catered my wedding, the food was incredible, and the service was excellent. The team was dedicated to making my wedding perfect every step of the way. I highly recommend this restaurant for any catering needs!
1st time at this beautiful old inn. Lunch was excellent with a nice varied menu. Carol was an outstanding server. Highly recommend!
My family and I found this gem after visiting a local attraction. We did not have reservations, but with the combination of the chefs and the owner, they accommodated us in the downstairs room. The downstairs bar area is designed wonderfully. The employees were wonderfully pleasant - from the chefs, to the waitresses/waiters to the owner. The burgers were great - just as the chefs promised. Overall a great experience.
Held our (very small) wedding reception here, got the upstairs "Gold Room". Most guests had prime rib, which was pretty good I might add, but others had chicken cordon bleu, and salmon. Everyone enjoyed their meals, sides, everything. The atmosphere was nice, the server was very nice and was patient with everyone. The owner came up to congratulate us and ask if we enjoyed our meal. All in all a very respectable establishment, that's well priced, and has a good variety for nearly every pallette.
Fried chicken was overcooked and dry, but sandwiches were good. GF menu was great! Atmosphere was nice and service was good. Reservations are required. No dress code, seemed odd though for such a nice place.
We had our daughters wedding reception here and it exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious from the salad, rolls, and roast beef, turkey, and chicken. I am still dreaming of the food days later. The Staff was very attentive and we were asked several times if we needed anything. I highly recommend Bullshead Inn.
If you're into historic dining experiences, this place is for you! They have two dining areas that share a menu: the upstairs has a classic colonial eatery vibe, while the cellar tavern has a more raucousness in its nature. The food was excellent. I cannot over-recommend the fried pickles; the dipping sauce is the real star of that show. They had a good selection of local beer on tap and live music in the cellar.
We were greeted promptly and seated right away. The service was great and the food was excellent. I ordered the cedar plank salmon, and it was probably the best salmon I have ever eaten. My husband had a steak, it was thick and juicy, and cooked to perfection. We would eat here again if we are ever in the area.
I had a very pleasant dining experience at Bull's Head Inn. We were seated very quickly. Our wait staff was very patient while we decided what to eat. The food came out at a reasonable time. I enjoyed the potato wedges very much. Everyone was very happy with their meal and I would like to go back and try more of what's on the menu. Our waitress Stacy did a wonderful job. Our Desert, pumpkin cheesecake with whipped cream, was also delicious.
Love this place! Upstairs is quieter and the tavern downstairs is fun and has great atmosphere.
We frequently visit Bull’s Head - mainly to go into the cellar with Stacey and Amy! They make our time there fun & the service provided by them is always great. Stacey knows our orders by heart & as soon as she sees us walk in she already has our drinks made for us & is asking what appetizer we want. The food is good as well, there has been a few times it has been inconsistent but the mistake is usually corrected with no issues. They also have bands down there sometimes which are usually good & it sets a good tone for the night. We will continue to go as long as Stacey & Amy are there. If you are looking for a laid back and fun atmosphere I would strongly recommend asking yo be seated in the cellar! 🍴
Very dog friendly, very good food. We had a Build your ultimate burger with jalapeños and garlic aoli and the fish and chips. Everything was cooked perfectly. The aoli was divine and the fish came with an amazing tartar sauce. It was definitely worth the stop on our road trip and we'll go out of our way to visit again.
We ordered the fish and chips and they were delicious! The fish was very crispy and chips were perfectly salted. We had a large group and even though it was very busy, they were still able to accomodate us and provide an excellent service!
Feeling underfed and thin, have your fill at the Bullshead Inn. The only thing larger than their portions are the welcoming smiles of each and every staff member and owners, who personally greet you and want to make certain you are satisfied. The best restaurant in Cobleskill. I have been there at least a dozen times. The owner and staff could not be friendlier nor more accommodating. The food is always of the highest quality and fresh. They have special pricing when it's your birthday or anniversary.
I highly recommend this establishment. It's a beautiful old inn, 1802, is very well maintained, and spotless clean. This is our third visit here and because their beef is such high quality, it's what I order every time. Very good food and generous portions delivered, hot, to your table. Nikita was our server and did a very good job. I'm looking forward to our next visit.
Excellent food and excellent service. My girlfriend and I have been here a few times and we are always seated right away. The restaurant itself is very cozy and has a great date atmosphere.
Super cute and great service. Love the old wood work. No complaints here :)
The celler was wonderful bartenders were great food was great. nice live music
Great place, old historical inn with a rustic cellar tavern downstairs which had a great atmosphere during a weekly trivia night. Service was very friendly and outstanding. The food was on point and very delicious especially the chicken cordon bleu. Great apple dessert. Restrooms were very nice, also great restaurant decor, and good parking behind the restaurant. Definitely will return and recommend to others.
We stumbled upon this place while driving through Cobleskill. Looked cool and we decided to check it out, it’s great that we did. We ate outside on the front patio which was nice. The inside of the place was amazing too with all of the old floors and art. The food was great, it’s classic American food so it’s hard to go wrong with it. I had a cup of their seafood chowder which was great and a turkey bacon ranch wrap which was good. It was very large which is good since it was $18. My wife had the nachos which she enjoyed throughly. I’d definitely like to go back to check out dinner and some of their other menu items. They had a nice selection of local beers too. Definitely worthwhile spot to go to.
Nice old building, clean and well set. Pub food was good, try the Reuben egg rolls! Very friendly attentive service with just right food delivery timing.
Me and my wife had dinner here on Valentine’s Day. We had a reservation we were seated promptly had great service the food was amazing. I believe the owners were walking around, making sure we were having a pleasant time. I would highly recommend We really enjoyed our Valentine’s Day dinner. Thank you.
Very good. We were running an errand in this neck of the woods, so to say, and decided to indulge. We are glad we did. Parking around back was easy. The place was clean and very traditional Inn feel. The waitress/ bartender was pleasant and she lit the fireplace for us. The menu is diverse and there is sure to be something for everyone. The Rueben Spring rolls were good, as well as some pickle spears. The Crab stuffed shrimp was something I hadn’t had before and decided to go with it. Delicious. Next time I’m getting the Crab BLT! Will definitely stop again next time in the area. Bathrooms were clean.
Two fish and chips to-go and we're already itching to drive the hour for another visit. The fish was so incredibly fresh and the batter was perfectly crispy and well seasoned. The tarter sauce and coleslaw were good and the fries were plentiful. The inside looks beautiful so I want to return and dine-in. Highly recommend for anyone craving fish or looking for a luxury dining atmosphere without those luxury dining prices.
Service was excellent and the food was delicious. The Bulls Head Inn had a charming atmosphere with a rich history. If you are in the area I would highly recommend you visit. The appetizers were great . The create your own masterpiece (burger) was excellent and had a variety of different toppings to choose from. Even the fries were truly remarkable. Finally, the appple crisp was the perfect way to complete the experience. Rachel, our server, was attentive without being overbearing or obtrusive. I am very much looking forward to my next visit.
First time in town for a getaway weekend. I am originally from Argentina, but I live in Manhattan, and my boyfriend is from Orange County, NY. We loved the town; glad we decided to go to bill’s head for dinner last night. It’s a beautiful restaurant with a great history. Food and service are excellent!! We definitely will come back!
My family gathered at the Bull’s Head Inn to celebrate my mother’s 70th birthday. Melissa our server sat us by a beautiful table next to a warm fire place. Melissa was attentive, and checked on us frequently to make sure our meal was exactly what we hoped it would be. She even interacted with my 5 year old nephew teaching him a new handshake, and filled us in on the history of the building and her experiences with the spirits who occupy the space. Our entire meals ( drinks, entrees, and desserts) were excellent and we can’t wait to dine there again!
If I had one wish it would be that I lived close to this restaurant. Omg great/amazing food with good prices. The decor is impressive. It’s good food, big portion and amazing price. If you are looking for a place for lunch or dinner THIS IS THE PLACE. And our waitress was so nice and knowledgeable.
Traveling past this restaurant has been one of the greatest finds! This restaurant has the most amazing food and staff. You will not be disappointed by your experience. I got the fish & chips and everyone was dying for a bite! We also had the Inn Keepers Club and a steak sandwich that were both perfect picks! Shout out to Nikita for being an amazing server :)
Everything about there was phenomenal. The waitress was phenomenal. The food beyond what you expect that had to be a Master chef. The food was so delicious. The whole party loved it. I'm amazed. It was recommended to us by our efficient and let me tell you kudos to her. This is the place to go.
“Established in 1802, the Bull’s Head Inn is the oldest and one of the most iconic landmarks in Cobleskill, NY. It offers relaxed, family-friendly dining, cozy comfort, and plenty of character, along with on-site entertainment. Bull’s Head Inn serves excellent food and warm service, with a menu full of American comfort favorites like chicken pot pie, burgers, and fish and chips. Seasonal dishes appear throughout the year to keep things fresh. The place also carries a bit of haunted history, and some guests and staff have reported unusual events, including sightings of a ghost on the main staircase. The Cellar Tavern adds even more to the experience. Its hours shift with the season, offering dinner on weekdays and both lunch and dinner on Saturdays and Sundays. The tavern brings the village to life with live music on weekends and trivia on Wednesday evenings. If you’re planning to visit on a Friday or Sunday, ask for Stephanie. She’ll take great care of you.”
Chris, Venus, and the staff did an amazing job catering our wedding! The food was hot and delicious. They did a great job setting everything up and taking care of everyone. Very easy people to work with! Thank you again everything was amazing!
Adding a revision...As a one time local I should have remembered that there is some parking in the back at a lower level. There is a door that leads to a lower level of the Bull's Head. It leads to a cool cellar with another bar and seating to eat there also. It feels even more like a revolutionary bar and eatery. I hope it is still there.....We used to go to the Bull's Head Inn quite often when we lived in the area. The food was always very good. The service was also very good. The building had been restored. It was revolutionary style which I like very much. We went to dinner on a few St. Patrick's day and I have to say the corned beef and Cabbage was outstanding. The best I ever had. The corned beef was lean and very tender. It was great. It has been 8 years since the last time and I hope it is still the same . I guess I have to go back and see.
We took a chance and stopped here to have lunch en route from Albany back to PA via Rt 7. Our server Nikita was stellar. She was helpful without being pushy. She even provided two to- go cups of ice for us, as we had drinks in the car that were warming as we ate in the restaurant. Today it was 84 and sunny. The place was not crowded. We had our choice of indoor or outdoor. In deference to hubby, who's usually warm, we ate inside. We both had a double hamburger (his was double cheeseburger) because it was a special ($15.99) ... Served with chips, pickle, tomato slice and portion of lettuce (green leaf). Prices on the menu seemed high to me... $22 for a club sandwich (three pieces of bread). The soup/ salad/ bread special tempted me but we figured that if we ate our main meal at 1 pm we could pick up a very quick item for the evening meal. We were happy with our decision. Parking is not plentiful, FYI.
Passing through town after working this morning, I was reluctant to go in based on the fact I was in boots and a baseball cap. I am so very happy I risked it. We were ushered to the basement tavern featuring bricks from the original road out front of the building from the early 1800s. The food and hospitality were amazing. I paid well over $150 for a similar meal in Chicago this week. The salad, which I failed to get a picture of was fresh, high quality and well presented. The NY strip was simple and grilled perfectly. You could not ask for a more authentic and quality American meal at any price. Oh and the tap selection for the local breweries from Cooperstown, Schoharie and Otsego was top notch. Shout out to an excellent Amber from Red Shed brewery.
Beautiful, historic building with a fantastic menu which provided options for my gluten intolerance, and excellent, friendly service. Very welcoming atmosphere and clean bathrooms. We drove over an hour during our vacation to give it a try, and we will definitely be back again! I especially recommend the eggplant fries!
This is a beautiful historic restaurant. The waitresses and bartenders were wonderful. Also the food was exceptional great value for your money. We actually ate here twice once at the bar and once with family and friends. The building was actually built when the third president was in office. Thomas Jefferson, and they even have a picture of him proudly displayed in the lobby. Great place they even have only New York state microbrew beers.
I love burgers, and I have eaten many of them all around the globe. The one my wife had here os the best I’ve ever had in my life. My children got also delicious dishes and my steak was outstanding. I am not sure if I will ever pass this region oh NY state again, but if you are driving by…give yourself the chance to eat here. The personnel was so nice and we had a great time.
A wonderfully historic little eatery in the heart of Cobleskill. The Atmosphere set the mood, with wide plank hardwood floors, lace curtains and a wonderful array of old artwork hanging on the walls. The food matched the lovely and homey feel of this restaurant. I ordered the cream of mushroom soup and I didn't want to stop eating it. Rich, creamy and savory broth that warmed the soul. I also ordered the pick 3 appetizers platter and that was delicious as well, picked the corn beef egg roll, sesame wings and moon motz. Everything was cooked and seasoned well. I can't wait to come back soon!
If you are look for a place to sit and eat that will bring you back in time, this is the place to visit. We sat in the 1st floor dining area and it was beautiful and quant. The service was excellent and the food was delicious and worth the cost. The portion sizes were so large that three people could share a plate. Well worth the visit. They even had live music playing in the tavern which is located in the basement and they do trivia nights and comedy shows. You do need to make a reservation to go to dine in and they do offer take out as well. The jumbo wings were a winner! We will be going back for sure. Highly recommended!
To get rid of the basic stuff first..parking in the street and there's a lot in the back. The lot in the back is up a slope to the restaurant, people with issues or handicap my have a issue. There was outside seating. Inside is a Victorian style decor with large plank floors. Comfortable seating and tables, with a nice atmosphere. The waitress was friendly and cared about our time there, she wasn't just going through the motions. The meals were good with large portions. The oriental salad with Shrimp looked and tasted great. The chicken pot pie look great and appeared to be home made. My cheeseburger was as expected which can be harder than it sounds. Overall a nice dinning experience. Pleasant and definitely on my list to stop at again. The menu has a good selection and the prices are friendly. $86.00 for 4 people. Why 4 stars because I really don't do 5...it would have to be perfect ....and what really is. * about 15 minutes from Howes Caverns.
Great food and cool atmosphere. Went on a Tuesday (for the two for Tuesday special) and didn’t think we needed a reservation- but probably should have gotten one. Place was packed up and down stairs. Bar has a nice feel to it and is decorated nicely. Waitress was really busy and it showed. The bartender took our order. Took about ten minutes to even get us menus, then another ten for drinks. But again, it was busy. The appetizers were good (we recommend the spinach dip!) and the entrées were great. Sirloin steak was cooked correctly and sides were good. The chicken Alfredo tasted great as well. Definitely get the tuxedo bomb as a dessert! It was perfect end of the meal and tasted great. We would eat there again for just that.
I attended a birthday party on Saturday 07/08/2023 here. The food was good and the employees were very nice. The pulled pork was amazing, I definitely recommend it. I only wish I had more time to look around as this place has a history of hauntings and I love that sort of thing.
Stopped here for dinner while passing through the town of Cobleskill. We dinned downstairs in the tavern, which was a little more laid back. Upon walking down we were greeted by a waitress who told us to have a seat wherever. There may have only been 3 or 4 tables when we got there. We quickly realized the entire downstairs was being served by one waitress, her name was Stacey. This woman was so on the ball and sweet, and not to mention not only was she now waiting on about 9-10 tables, but she was also bartending AND running for all of the food to deliver. She did not skip a beat, her drinks were on point, not too strong, not to weak.. the food was piping hot when she served it, and on top of how incredibly busy she was, she still made time to talk with us and make sure our experience there was fun. I really can’t say enough wonderful things about Stacey, coming from someone who used to waitress and bartend years ago, i was so impressed! The food was good, but we would go back again if we were ever passing through just to see Stacey!
Make that reservation and be transported back in time to the 1800’s! Weekends they have live music downs stairs. Book your private party up stairs. Where you may just walk past their ghost. The main floor has so much history. A cocktail menu to die for. Wide selection of yummy foods to choose from and a tasty desserts. They even have a Gluten Free menu. After words check out the town!
Nice historic restaurant in the heart of Cobleskill. The place was pretty busy, so my girlfriend and I had to wait 30 min in the downstairs tavern, but that was no big deal. Once we sat to eat, the food was good. Took a little while longer than we liked, considering the food that was being made. Service was good, but we could tell they were pretty new, so they were checking in with stuff they missed on the initial order quite a bit. Otherwise, cool place. Will come back whenever I'm up that way.
Stopped in for an early dinner, opted to share the Eggplant fries (photo included) and ordered the Sampler Platter for two, with ribs, smoked brisket, pulled pork and pulled chicken. Overall a delightful experience with great and attentive staff all served in a warm, historic inn. Never saw a ghost or experienced anything paranormal....but really now, that's just fine, lol.
Wings and a Wedge salad were good, drinks were good. It was all a bit pricey for the area and experience. Staff had an ear headphone piece, made me think of my early days in retail at Express. Felt dated in a fine way, lunch was not busy on a Wednesday. Definitely a fine place to do for a bite, but expect to pay+ for it.
Lovely food and our waitress was great, unfortunately our reservations were modified and we wound up seated in the very loud and much more casual tavern area downstairs and not the quieter, slightly nicer restaurant upstairs. We made the best of it and still had a nice evening but certainly felt overdressed as it wasn't the Valentine's Day we were expecting.
We were in town for a funeral and decided to stop in for a quick bite. The sweet corn chowder was absolutely incredible — truly a perfect 10! Even though we live 52 minutes away, we’re already tempted to make the drive back just for that soup. The staff were great as well! Steve & Robin Albany, NY
We came here on a Saturday night and had dinner in the cellar. It was a little musty, but is was very interesting and that made up for it. The entertainment was excellent. I ordered one of my very favorites that is very hard to find, Chicken Cordon Bleu. It was good, but they used solid chicken breast without pounding it out which makes it a little tough. My Aunt got the rib eye with grilled shrimp and she LOVED it. We also shared a wedge salad which was great. The bleu cheese they use is VERY GOOD! I would suggest not using such ridiculously thick bacon though. Overall, I will definitely go back to try other things on their menu.
During the colonial wars this place was burnt down four times, which is quite the pity since the shaved beef sandwich is to die for! Friendly staff, clean bathroom, but no wi-fi. Also the draft beer was unavailable during this review. Al fresco seating in season, which overlooks Cobleskill’s idyllic Veterans’ Park. Sumptuous desserts, though none was sampled since I am already too fat.
The menu was diverse, but when asked about a couple items I was told they are not made in house but are pre frozen and shipped in. Seemed expensive for that. I had a French onion soup and a burger instead..my boyfriend had some garlic fries and a Greek salad with salmon. The burger was decent, the soup was flavorful but a bit too salty... The bread used in the soup seemed like a pumpernickel with a very strong flavor. The garlic fries were crunchy and very good... But the minced garlic piled on top was a bit much. The Greek salad was very good.
Desert apple crisp was horrible ...hardly any apples, crush was horrible and impossible to cut
Came here about 6 yrs ago Love the place only issue we had at that time was the waitress we had. She never left our table until the manager made her. She kept trying to make us feel sorry for her by staying at our table and giving us a sad story. Don't get us wrong we felt bad for her. But we couldn't even relax and eat our food be cause she wouldn't let us.
We have been to the bull's head multiple times, its one of our favorite restaurants in Cobleskill. Tonight we were disappointed. My husband ordered a steak, cooked medium. The streak came and was well done. The cook on the steak is not the reason for our disappointment, mistakes happen I get that, just make it right. Instead the owner came over and insisted the steak was not overcooked, he said it was brown because of the marinade and even if medium rare was ordered, it would not be pink because of the marinade. My husband explained that the feel of the steak was not medium, no matter the color, a medium cooked steak could not feel firm when pressed in the center with one finger and would not be chewy. The owner insisted it was medium. 5 minutes later, he came back over to our table and indicated that maybe my husband was correct and the steak was indeed well done but again stated that that could not be determined by the color. They did comp the dinner, my husband didn't ear the steak. Overall disappointment with how the issue was handled, just own the mistake and fix it! This was one of our favorite spots.
Usually before coming to restaurants, I am sure to always check the reviews and always see what everyone says about certain places around where I was searching. Seeing the 4.5 stars that Bull's Head Inn had I was expecting a good dining experience with good food and service, but it was not all that. The surroundings and restaurant itself was very beautiful and charming and the servers were very polite and informing, but service was VERY slow, with food taking up to a half hour to come with little to no patrons in the dining room, and food was underwhelming. We ordered two appetizers and three entrees for the table with the appetizers being very good, but the entrees not so much. We ordered the Masterpiece Burger, Herb Chicken and the Cheese Tortellini. The Chicken and Tortellini were swimming in a pool of olive oil and were very bland and tasteless. The burger however was very basic and nothing special.
We were able to easily make a reservation. We were seated in the pub in the basement area. The atmosphere was nice. Enjoyed the 19th century architecture and antiques/decorations. The food and drink choices were really good. Everyone in our party enjoyed what they ordered. The service was good and timely during the meal. It was afterwards that was not a good experience. We received a call that we hadn't left enough cash to cover the bill. My sister had covered it as a gift to my parents for their anniversary. I watched as she counted out $216 and change for the bill, including a $36 tip. The server wasn't around after we had it ready with the receipt. So we left it on the table with the receipt next to the dishes that were left on the table that we had stacked up to make it easier to clear. Then we received the call saying there was only $116 and the change left. So we had to go back to add money cover what was missing. So now a bill that was supposed to be $179 and change became $243 plus tip and that basically became $343 with the missing $100. There should be someone to give the cash to of the server isn't available to give it to instead of leaving it on the table. Someone obviously came and took the $100 from the cash we left. If the restaurant is going to give cash prices for less then card prices to help patrons save some money, they need a better system for paying in cash and have cameras set up. It would be nice to be able to check footage to see what happened to the missing money. So if you go here and want to pay the lower prices by paying in cash, make sure you give the cash directly to your server instead of trusting that you can leave it on the table with the receipt.
The food was not worth the price. Food was horrible and expensive. The menu was deceiving.A tourist trap . The manager is a racist bully. I explained to the manager all other items on the menu had prices. The desert under the dinner special did not. . As I explained this to the manager he looked and said that is the way it is. He stood over us in a very aggressive mannerism. It explains why the restaurant was so empty I spoke to the hotel we were staying at and they told me they will never recommend or go to that restaurant. The food is not fresh, not good and very expensive. They recommended the diner and golf club restaurant which was much better. The manager looked at us in a racism mannerism I have never experienced before.
Waitress brought check , never asked if we wanted a second drink, which we all did! Brought the check without asking if we wanted dessert?! Sheppard pie was tasteless and boring. Chicken with spinach and blue cheese dish no was good as well as crab cakes, but they weren’t jumbo as stated on the menu!
We went there for an anniversary lunch today. The hostess and waitress were informed that it was our anniversary. We received our drinks and appetizers promptly, and they were good. Something happened between the waitress and the chef, and our entrée order was never put into the kitchen. We waited patiently, watching others who arrived after us get their food, until my wife went to find our waitress. We were informed that the order had just been put into the kitchen. Another 30 minutes passed, and I was not waiting any longer. We had the food boxed up. Upon arriving home, i found my fish overcooked to the point where it was hard. I will not be back as we were mistreated, served poor quality food, and not offered any remedy upon receiving the bill. If your establishment can not handle the quantity of customers coming in your front door, the n politely turn them away. We will not be offended. However, when you seat us and treat us badly and serve us bad food, we will be offended and not return.
Very beautiful building. Food was average, beer was not very cold. Entertainment in the tavern was nice. Service was slow, beer sat on bar a long time while the server chatted with regulars in the tavern. $93 for a burger, a steak sandwich, 2 side salads and 4 beers?? I should have really looked over the bill. Nice to visit once but wouldn’t go back again. Edit: the owner contacted me to apologize for the service delays.
Mary so busy making sure I am kept waiting set there 15 minutes..nobody even said hello to me. I'm an excellent tipper when I am weary from the road and made to feel welcome
Came on Mother’s Day. Apparently the manager approved Mother’s Day reservations and was letting large party’s just walk in from graduation. We waited 2.5 hours for our food. It’s not the waitstaff’s fault or kitchen necessarily. But whoever approved that move should be let go. Food was ok. Big portions, but the chicken tortellini is nothing special.
Would not recommend for catering. Very poor communication And very unprofessional. They gave us information on the catering, excepted our date of our event and then While we were waiting for a confirmation that they were going to Do our event, they emailed us that they accepted a deposit from another Couple . Apparently, our event wasn’t feasible for them. Other words they would make more money off of another couple who obviously came after our request . Very unprofessional.
