Recensioni di Le Bouchon Cold Spring
My partner and I had a delicious dinner at Le Bouchon! The restaurant was crowded, but we were seated quickly. The servers were extremely attentive and kind despite how busy it was. We loved the salad, steak entrees (medium steak au poivre and medium well filet mignon pommier were cooked perfectly), and crème brûlée we ordered, as well as the restaurant’s ambiance. The food also came out quickly. Highly recommend if you’re in Cold Spring!
Great experience! Staff was incredibly thoughtful and kind. Super cute and cozy with great french food with some fun German Beer Garden food as well!
We happened across this place on a day trip from the city. The food was excellent, we had the escargot, pizza, fries and steak. Service was great and the waiter was friendly despite being super busy. Would definitely recommend
Oh my God first time here and so delish!. We never ate here before and i growing up in Putnam County for over 42 years should have at least tried this place before knowing that I always went to cold spring for years. My husband and i just got married the night before at West Poinf and we just out of the blue decided to take a drive to walk around cold spring and eat lunch somewhere before we were leaving for our honeymoon tomorrow . We always wanted to eat at this place but the tables outside were always full and we really like to eat outside. Today all tables were empty so we were l uoh ke great let's try if we can eat outside. BEST decision we could make. The manager John seated us and we told him we just got married 24 hrs ago before we knew it h ed came back with two champagne glasses of sparkling wine and delicious terranova bread to say congratulations on our marriage. Wow that was really nice! He even snapped this awesome pic for us. We ordered the Salmon tatar and the Cuban with fries. Both so delicious. Our waiter Zack was very friendly and attentive to making sure we liked everything and was right there when we wanted to order more drinks and get the check. As I sat outside there menu board was behind me and I could see people reading it and not sure if they wanted to actually eat there so as they looked in awe I interjected and said oh this place is great because the food was really delicious. No kidding I must have pulled in four tables for them! Thank you Zack and John for delicious meal and excellent service. We will be back after our honeymoon and look forward to bringing our friends
Pretty top notch fare. The wife had given birth 2 months ago, and we became homebound hermits incapable of seeing the outside world. For the most part. Finally, the day came when we were able to take the tyke out. Hizzah! She ordered a steak, and I ordered the beef tartare. We both shared an order of spaetzle Mac n cheese. Everything was spot on. Staff was very accommodating with our tiny tyrant too.
Been here several times over the years. Always solid, straight-forward & honest fare. Michael makes you feel like you're in good hands. Steak frites & a bottle of simple red is always a good choice. Love their spetzel too. Don't skip dessert!
One of the best meals I've had in a while! The food was fresh and delicious, and the servers had an excellent grasp on the menu. One of the few places where asking for a recommendation actually feels worth my time.
I live in the Bronx and take trips to Cold Spring just to dine here. It’s my husband and I’s special place. The food is always great. The atmosphere is amazing whether you sit inside or outside. The staff is great. They handle the mass crowds in a small village during the hiking season with humor and efficiency. The Manager, Mike, is a wonderful person.
We come here every time we are in town. The food is incredible and the vibes are unmatched. Sit outside in the back patio if you can!
Came in last night from the city for my girlfriend and I’s anniversary. Alex is my favorite server in the world. He made our night super special. I’d never been before but it’s such a little gem with great ambiance.
Went to Cold Springs for the Bull Hill short loop trail and after that we ended up having lunch at Le bouchon. Steak Frites, steak tartare, creme brulee, escargots, beer Omegang Abbey and service were excellent! And a walk around Cold Springs after that good experience! 100% recommended!
An absolutely stellar meal, with lovely service, in a charming atmosphere. My partner and I came to Cold Spring for a quick getaway, and basically walked right off the train and into this restaurant. It was well past lunch but not quite dinner, so we were the only people in the place. The staff was very kind and the food was just incredible -- rich but not overwhelming, satisfying without overstuffing. We had recently gone to a different restaurant that was the epitome of "trendy": new, crowded, and colorful; rushed, loud, and serviceable. Le Bouchon felt like the antithesis of that. I don't remember the last time that my partner and I both scraped our plates clean, so that felt like the photo that's worth uploading here.
One our favorites in Cold Spring. Nice portions, excellent taste, friendly staff. Can get a little cramped but that might be part of the charm.
I recently had lunch at Le Bouchon with my girlfriend. It was a very pleasant experience. The dishes were simple yet perfectly executed, remind me my mother land and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Highly recommend it! Thank you again for this beautiful lunch
Pros: very kind and attentive staff. Chef was always around, chatting with the costumers. The food was very delicious. We had the cassoulet and the duck confit. Although both were good, DO try the cassoulet. It was amazing. (For any Brazilians out there, it's like a French version of feijoada, but with white beans) The dessert was also very good. We had the apple tart and the creme brulee. Both were tasty! Con: the sangria was not super delicious and it was served with fruit juices and not the actual fresh fruit. PS: the lady next to us had a cheese tart that looked amazing, though small. PS2: sorry about the half-eaten food picture.
First time dining there and we will be returning! Every course was delicious. The octopus, steak and filet mignon were so good. Our servers were very nice. They had multiple seating options which we liked. Highly recommend!
Great escargot, rich and tasty. Cassoulet was excellent, coming hot, generous portion, plenty of sausage pieces but less on the duck, beans melted in your mouth. Excellent 2 large pieces of Boudin noir with mashed potatoes and sautéed slices apples with rich dark sauce. Would have like more apple pieces to contrast the pudding but overall excellent. Friendly staff. Very romantic, rustic decor.
I was just there for an elegant lunch for a very small wedding, and every single mouthful was delicious. Will definitely return!
My wife and I stopped here on our way back from a hiking trip upstate. It was such a homey, warm place for being a mere few train stops north of the city. We enjoyed the food, fish stew for her and the lamb burger for myself; a good ice cream with profiteroles and chocolate to top everything off.
The only thing I can call this place is ‘Hidden Gem’!! OMG, I’m so surprise how delicious they are. First of all I ordered the special dish ‘ pork belly’ something today. My friend who doesn’t like pork belly because she always thought that It might come out hard and chewy but on the other hand this dish is so soft and tender which me and my friend love it so much. Pork belly melts in your mouth! The 2nd dish is ‘Canard confit-duck leg’ from the first appearance, I thought that It might be crispy and dry but it’s not. Once again It’s so soft and tender inside and crispy outside. Third one french onion soup, when I server came to the table with the bowl of soup and can smell the deliciousness, and Imm not disappointed the cheese on top it’s so soft and melted again!! The only thing I will make a small complain is it’s a little bit too salty. Lastly that I need to mention, Cream Brûlée’ it’s the best one that I have been having so far. The price is acceptable. It’ s a lot cheaper than the one in NYC which is not as delicious as this. Brandon and other waiter were very helpful today👍 If you come to Cold spring main street, this is the place that you must not be missed!!! This place is above and beyond and expectation for me❤️❤️❤️
I would definitely recommend someone to try out this restaurant. My first impression was the escargot. That was the first time in my life trying snails. It really impressed me. They tasted so delicious. I would definitely order it again. Also the mussels tasted good and came with a big portion. The only thing I didn't really like was the seat. We were sitting under the red light that made us feel really uncomfortable. It was really dim as well. Please don't choose the seat if you don't like the light. It will definitely affect your entire experience. Other than that, it's a great restaurant.
This place deserves 5 stars and nothing else. Perfect atmosphere, very dedicated staff, delicious foods. There is nothing reasonable to fault this place and I can't wait to go back. I loved everything.
Le Bouchoun in Cold Spring is a delightful spot!! A cozy French bistro. This restaurant offers three distinct dining experiences: garden dining, outdoor terrace dining, and indoor dining. The garden area is comfortable, with sun umbrellas set at each table to provide shade. The indoor dining space is cozy and warm, creating an inviting atmosphere for guests I had the luscious bouilabisse. I could not stop dipping bread into. I call this bouilabisse the killer of the bread!! The crispy, well marinated duck leg is also incredible. Portion sizes at this bistro is satifying.
I had an absolutely lovely working lunch here. The escargot were so big and tender. They melted in your mouth. The bread is unsurprisingly crusty and so chewy and tasty. I tried the special soup and special chicken which reminded me of a piccata without lemon. Absolutely divine. The sauce was silky and smooth. The chicken tender and full of flavor. Special shout out to the wait staff though. They were hands down some of the sweetest and nicest wait staff I've dealt with recently. Checked in on me the appropriate amount and had a nice conversation about random things. Very nice I'm in the area visiting but will be stopping back before I leave town
A hidden gem. I had never tried cassoulet before. This duck, lamb, and pork sausage rendition was delicious. Our two appetizers, a plate of quail in a mushroom sauce and tartiflette, a potato bacon and cheese ensemble, were both outrageous. I loved them. My mom's scallops were delectable though she wasn't impressed with the risotto, and my sister seemed to like the sea bass and mashed potatoes. Her shredded brussels sprouts were incredibly flavorful.
Everything was excellent. We will definitely make this a regular spot when we are up in this area. Service was great and the ambiance was perfect. Loved the authentic French dishes and the prices were very reasonable for the portions. 10/10 recommend.
📸: Brasserie Le Bouchon Restaurant in Cold Spring, NY. (Verdict: 👍🏻 No Potatoes) Can’t find them on IG. Le Bouchon, a charming bistro serving French classics like cassoulet in a cozy, red-hued room or outdoor garden setting. This gorgeous Friday afternoon we decided to take the convertible out for a top down drive probably one of the last times this year. Cold Spring was our destination. Cute little town located about an hour north of the George Washington Bridge. Not much more than a few mom and pop shoos and a handful of restaurants. There is also a spot next to the Hudson with gorgeous views. We wanted some seafood and to eat it outdoors. Brasserie Le Bouchon was perfect. We enjoyed our meal in their back patio seething area. For a small town eatery… the food and service was great, way above average. Also had a great conversation with Michael, one of their servers. We ordered: 1x Grilled OCTOPUS with chorizo special. 1 x MARINIÈRE (for her) Mussels with white wine, parsley, shallots and garlic. 1 x ESPAGNOLE (for me) Pictured. Mussels with chorizo, white wine and red peppers. Drinks were… Unsweetened Iced Tea, a glass of Sangria (don’t recommend) and a couple glasses of their house Cabernet. Not too bad. @vinopotato 🍷🥔
Such a delightful place to enjoy delicious Brasserie food (mussels!! frites!!! poulet roti!! chocolate mousse!! -- together with wonderful wine!!) -- all at very reasonable prices. We enjoyed lingering in the charming, cozy dining room, and struck up several conversations with friendly guests at other tables. Michael was the sole server/manager on duty last night (a snowy Monday between xmas & new year's eve), and he handled the (surprisingly busy) dining room with warmth and expertise; his food and wine recommendations were spot-on, and his contributions to the chatter among patrons were most welcome. Thank you for a thoroughly enjoyable evening!!
I had a wonderful meal at Le Bouchon. The food was absolutely delicious-I especially enjoyed the soup and the fish with smashed potatoes. Don't skip dessert; they have some great options. The service was good, although I think it would be helpful if they asked guests about allergies or food restrictions. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant.
I always have a lovely experience here which is why I’ve come back again and again. Overall I’ve had a very consistent experience of deliciousness each time no matter what I order off the menu. Today was the filet mignon and the special— halibut… both incredible. Service is amazing too and our waiter Zack was super helpful and friendly! Would highly recommend to anyone in the area for an unpretentious meal that transports you to the streets of Paris 💨🥰
My wife and I visited Le Bouchon during our first visit to Cold Spring last weekend. It is a cozy, retro-type place with a choice of indoor / outdoor seating. We were indoors. All of the food we ordered was delicious: French onion soup, Fua Gra, the steak and lamb burger. French fries are just right there: not greasy, but irresisible. Jesse was our waiter: a down-to-earth guy with impressive sense of humor. This spot will definitely be on our radar next time we are in the vicinity. Cheers!
Another pleasant experience at Le Bouchon! We had the Crab Cakes and the Baked French Brie to start — both appetizers were so delicious! We tried the lamb burger and they were so kind to bring it split in half on separate plates for us. It was juicy and flavorful. L Additionally, they bring you artisanal bread for the table to start & happily refilled our basket free of charge for my partner to indulge further. It was so nice to sit outside in their back patio this time and it was a lovely laidback vibe. Our server was great and all the food came out in a timely manner. Last time we were here, we tried one of their Moules Frite which was great. We remember having attentive service as well!
This was my second visit to a charming French bistro in Cold Spring, where New Yorkers typically retreat by train for their hiking adventures. Not only does this place serve up decent food, but it also features showers (see photos) so you can wash off all that hiking sweat. Plus, it has clean bathrooms that are perfect for, well, other pressing needs.
Stopped in on a Monday night and sat at a cosy table outside. We had just finished a long hike and were more than ready for an ice cold lager and some good food. The charcuterie board and french onion soup were lovely; as were the steak sandwich and steak frites. The aioli is really good too! I just wish the sauces didn’t come out in little plastic takeaway tubs. The crème brûlée was really good too! And our waiter was fab: funny, warm, and obviously knew the food and drink well. We’ll be back! A highlight of our mini break :)
First time in Cold Sptings, wife ordered the chicken with brie sandwich. I had the octopus for an appetizer and the steak tartar for main course. Food was top notch. Friendly and attentive staff. Great day overall.
Came here mid afternoon on a Monday, so it was quiet, which was nice. Food was amazing. My only complaint was the outside patio had a lot of bees. I tried to ignore them at first but they mobilized and kept flying around our heads and food and landing on our plates and glasses. Eventually we had to move to the front patio (we have a dog so couldn't be inside). The waiter was very accommodating, but again, it was so quiet with no one out front, that the transition was easy. We finished our meal (with only 1 bee lurking around). I wish they could resolve this problem, but overall a great place. Would return (but maybe will sit inside). The bangers and mash was banging.
Everything is as expected. We spend $70 for 2 people not including tips. I recommend the brie au four. Other things like beef tartare and foie gras are okay but overpriced. Similarly price I can find something so much better in NYC. Would rather check other restaurant than sticking with this one next time visiting cold spring.
Le Bouchon has amazing food and friendly, attentive staff. Two waiters were helping us the night we came in, and both of them were welcoming and very kind. Our food came out at a reasonable time! Onion soup wasn't very hot, but it was still yummy, with lots of cheese. Our chicken entrées were perfect. Great flavor, perfectly cooked chicken, and satisfying portion sizes. Our servers checked in on us multiple times and had lovely conversation with us, as well as other tables around. Only complaint was the cleanliness of the restaurant. As soon as we sat at our table, I noticed an old mildewy smell. My hometown had a Goodwill with dusty couches and two weak points in the ceiling that always dripped when it rained. Le Bouchon smelled just like it. We sat at the booths and there were stains along the bottom and sides, and a thick layer of dust at the top where your head would be. The light fixtures were dirty and flickered every so often. The main thing that put me off was the bread basket. The bread was burnt black on one end. The napkin it was on had a brown stain. Most importantly, the basket itself was caked in dust. It was woven plastic and there was a layer of dust on each strand of plastic. Some of it was touching the bread. The utensils were wrapped in napkins, but a server brought us spoons for the soup. My spoon had bits of something on it, and the plates they laid the utensils on looked old and dirty. No biggie. I wiped my utensils on my shirt and ate my food. But while we were eating, flies came and kept landing on our chicken. Not the restaurant's fault, but the old musty smell, the dust all around us, and the fly bouncing on my fork made me lose my appetite completely. Try to go on a warm day so you can eat outside. The inside smells super musty to the point where every bite of food had a hint of mildew flavor whenever I breathed in, and the dust is everywhere. Staff is nice and food is good, but if I'm paying $90 for three apps and two meals, I would expect a clean dining room.
A Monday night dinner. Moderately busy. Nice cozy atmosphere. The patio is definitely nicer with the little fountain. Staff were nice and polite with good suggestions. We ordered Escargot Parisian, Mushroom Soup, Steak Tartare, Canard Confit and Brussel Sprouts. The food was okay. I found the Tartare more of a sour pepper flavor over others I tried with wasabi. And the Canard Confit which was duck a slight dry. The Escargot, Mushroom Soup and Brussel Sprout were much better. Nice experience.
Charming place at Cold Spring. Service is great, the staff is super friendly and helpful. The fried brie was SCRUMPTIOUS, but my main, steak tartare, was disappointing… It lacked yolk and some “acidity” (like relish/mustard) it tasted like a raw burger beef patty. Despite that, will be coming back as the overall experience was nice :)
A Hidden Gem in Cold Spring, NY: Le Bouchon Brasserie Dining at Le Bouchon Brasserie was truly an excellent experience. The Crust Pepper Steak was the star of the show—perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. The mushroom ravioli felt like a warm, comforting hug, and the butter escargot was absolutely delicious. The octopus spread and the watermelon salad added a fresh and creative touch to the meal. The back patio is charming and inviting—an ideal spot for a relaxing afternoon. I’d suggest adding a bit of soft French music to enhance the ambiance even more. The waitstaff offered top-notch service, very attentive and welcoming. One area of improvement would be the table linens and ensuring the silverware is spotless—a small detail that could take the experience to the next level. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Cold Spring, NY. ✨ Le Bouchon Brasserie brings a taste of France to the heart of the Hudson Valley. 🇫🇷
Mixed feelings about the service. When the waiter didn’t explain there was pork in the appetizer we thought it was just a cheese pizza but none of us eats pork. So he got agitated at all four of us for not asking if there was pork in it. A real disconnect. When we said we won’t eat it, he said “oh you could have just asked” It’s not even about pork or not paying for it.. we could be vegetarian too you know? It made us all feel uncomfortable. Food was good. Interior was that classic French feeling, which was warm and nice.
There was a long time waiting outside so we decided to check this place out. There was a lot of people here so there was a nice white noise in the background. Service however, was really slow. I had to asked 3 times before the waiter finally got me my hot sauce. The Baked Brie basically tasted like a sandwich with ham, egg and cheese. French Onion Soup was my friends go to order but personally I couldn't understand the hype of it. There is a 3.75% non cash price. Their system does not take debit cards so you can either pay in cash or credit cards, heads up!
I decided to come here for lunch based on the great reviews, and left underwhelmed. I’ve eaten at good French restaurants before, and was excited to try another. We were greeted promptly and seated outside. First annoyance-they have no straws. It was a minor issue, but because there’s so much ice in the drinks, not having a straw made it difficult to drink. I understand not using plastic but they had none at all (I asked). Sangria was good. My husband said his pinot grigio wasn’t great. My son had a hard time drinking his soda. I decided to try the goat cheese tart appetizer. For $13, we got TWO puff pastry squares with a slice of goat cheese and an arugula salad. I could buy an entire box of puff pastry plus a log of goat cheese and make an entire platter for less than that. It tasted good but was very simple and probably overpriced by about five dollars. I ordered my son the croque monsiuer, which was more bread than topping although it was flavorful. I had the seared salmon entrée which was fine. The salmon was nicely cooked but needed salt despite the sauce, along with the asparagus. Menu said “seared,” salmon was clearly grilled. The potatoes were probably the best thing on the plate. I tasted a bite of steak from my husband’s steak sandwich; the meat needed salt. Service was fine and mostly attentive but the waiter was not friendly in the slightest. So overall while nothing was necessarily bad, it also wasn’t great. I wouldn’t return.
Food was okay..duck leg was..fine but barely had any sauce and was accompanied by ONE small fingerling potato cut in 4. Ridiculous. Server never checked in, didn’t tell us the specials, and the dude seating people was grumpy. I understand they were slammed in the kitchen but the whole experience wasn’t great. Took so long that everything was closed by the time we were done. Kinda soured the day a bit. Ambiance was nice though.
EDIT: 11/13/24 WE came in for an early dinner on a Friday at 3:30pm. This was our 2nd time here. I took a star off because the the consistency isn't there. I got the same exact filet mignon medium rare for me and my dad. Mine came out rare and my dad's was medium. Also it wasn't as flavorful. Even when I look at the previous one I got the sauce is clearly lighter and not the same consistency. We weren't offered any bread until we asked after our meal came out. It's still the cold bread with ice cold butter. My mom's mussels had a nice sauce but lots of grit in them. They didn't give a spoon with all that broth either. We were also sat next to a huge family that were super loud and disruptive. Parents had no control over their teens. Not the restaurant's fault but it does suck when it's so cramped inside. Original review----------------------- Came in for dinner on Sunday around 5pm and there was a little line outside of the restaurant. Waited maybe 10mins before we got a table. Could have sat immediately outside but it was freezing. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Restaurant interior is clean but cramped. We sat at a booth where the bench is shared and you're within inches from another customer on the sides. Really glad we're small people lol. We were offered bread after making our order. It looks like house made sourdough but it comes ice cold with ice cold butter that isn't salted. Overall would skip next time. Pretty tasteless. We didn't have to wait long for our appetizer and entree to arrive. We ordered the octopus to start. Never seen it presented this way. It was almost compressed together and sliced like deli meat. It was tender enough to be able to cut with a fork and seasoned well. There was a slight tinge of fishy smell. The fingerling potatoes were roasted and seasoned well. I enjoyed the aioli that came with it as it complemented the octopus and fingerling potatoes. For entrees we got the filet medium rare with mash potatoes and the wild mushroom ravioli. The filet was excellent. Cooked perfectly and tender. Loved the port wine demi which elevated the dish. The mashed potatoes were creamy and comforting. The mushroom ravioli was rich and delicious. Loved the pesto sauce. For dessert we got the french vanilla creme brulee. The custard was delicious and the caramelized sugar on top was super crispy. Would love to come back and try their other dishes. PS: This didn't apply to us tonight but just noting for new patrons--there is a plate sharing fee listed on the menu (which I find any restaurant charging this kinda ridiculous).
The food was such a disappointment. The octopus was cold and hard to chew. It looked more like gelatin than octopus. The onion soup was also not to good, with a hot dog bun type of bread instead of crispy baguette slice. The duck was reheated and dry while extremely fat on the outside. It was served with one baby potato and salad which was the best out of the whole dish. Not to mention the bathroom which was horrible as well. The staff was nice and the service was ok. I would not recommend this restaurant.
The food was enjoyable, and I had no complaints about the quality of the dishes. However, the experience was greatly diminished by an unexpected issue: the presence of numerous flies around our table. It was very uncomfortable and took away from the ambiance. I hope the management addresses this problem to improve the dining experience.
The French Onion soup and Allagash beer was the best selection that we’ve made coming to this restaurant. The calamari was a special of the day. Even though it was with sauce it was majorly lacking flavor and a tad undercooked. For our steak sandwich, the bread tasted stale, we received it cold, and the steak wasn’t nice and tender. For my sangria, it tasted like a fruit punch instead of a wine fruit flavor.
Food: The portions of our order was definitely smaller than other places that are less pricey, and although the food tasted okay and was served warm enough, it wasn’t that special that will make us to come again. Service: One word : horrible. While all other tables got the menu and water right away, we didn’t get until someone stopped by, and that person asked, “Do you need anything?” and I said, “Yeah, menu as we did not get yet”. Especially a tall, young guy who was cold and didn’t say a word whenever we asked, and in the end no one bothered to say goodbye when we stepped out. Oh, by the was, in our section we were the only Asians, so I suspect some sort of discrimination based on race. Atmosphere : Too dark, cramped, and looked old & dirty. Would never eat inside again & had the weather permitted, choose the outdoor. Overall, this is an overrated place with overpriced menu with undersized portion. We love Cold Spring but this place is no-no for us. The only reason we gave two, not one, star was that the food was actually not that bad.
This was my first time coming to this restaurant and overall, I am disappointed first of all, it’s a tight squeeze inside. I definitely I could see outdoor seating being better when it’s warm outside. There were only two staff members for the whole restaurant who seem to never communicate with each other about anything. So one would come around and ask us if we need anything and then we would have to tell the second one that we ordered through the other one and it was just awkward. We overheard the mohawk guys conversations with other guests and overall seemed like rude guy. When we asked for bread we were given three slices and some cold butter with no salt we ordered the escargot that came out in a timely manner but did not come with bread if we never asked for it and I’ve definitely had better. We then had a long wait in between our appetizer and entrées because the waiter mixed up our food with another table and the customer at the other table, didn’t realize that she had our food. So they had to remake it. Then when it did come out, I was very disappointed with my measly piece of dry duck three potatoes and 5 leaves that they called a salad. I think that duck ate a better salad before it died. The saffron seafood “soup” was ok definitely needed more flavor. There weren’t many tables at that time so there shouldn’t of been such a long wait. I think this is because of lack of communication between the two waiters. The portion/ quality to price is definitely lacking. Honestly , the best part about the whole meal was the dessert and the cherry on top of the entire night, was when my boyfriend said he saw a mouse about to crawl under our table. We will never be going back again even when it is nice outside. First and last time.
We were seated and then completely ignored for 30 minutes. About 20 minutes in, someone told us the waiter would be right with us but he continued serving three other tables that arrived AFTER us. It wasn’t until another table noticed and asked on our behalf that we were finally helped. After placing our drink order, we waited another 20 minutes and had to follow up just to get them. The food was mediocre at best, but the service was what really ruined the experience. The whole time we were ignored. We seriously considered just getting up and leaving. Definitely won’t be coming back.
Visited this restaurant on July 18th, 2025 and was completely horrified by THE FOOD! I ordered the duck which was completely burnt and served that way, had to be returned. My partner ordered the steak and gave me a piece to try. It had the worst, horrible taste EVER! It was a rotten piece of otherwise good cut of steak. They served us food that had gone bad and tried to cover it up as if they didn’t know. I am a food journalist and a lover of Cold Spring who visits from NYC frequently. I will never go there again (to say the least) and will make certain to address this in every food article I write about the lovely town of Cold Spring and beyond. DO NOT GO THERE!
