We’ve been twice. The food was delicious! And the hot tea. Even the meat eaters liked it here!
Couldn't be happier to have chosen this restaurant! I am a visiting vegan from the island of Kauai where we don't have a wide variety of vegan choices. I was really looking forward to coming to California and enjoying a menu dedicated entirely to meat alternatives. Veggie Today was my first choice and they have set the bar very high for any other vegan option during my visit......although I do plan on a very thorough investigation:)
This place is really amazing. I was with three other people and we all ordered different items to share. The food is 100% veggitaren and made to represent the real thing. The food itself is an interesting variety of different Chinese dishes and the cooks seem to care about how they prepare your food. Everything is very well priced and you get alot for your money! Three main dishes a large salad and two appetizers came up to around $54. The building looks like a standard Chinese hole in the wall restaurant. There is a television that plays the usually sports or news. The dishes and utensils are of the same standard. I am not a vegetarian (I eat meat about three times a week) because I haven't found something that could replace meat. Veggie Today is definitely a place to go if you are looking for a vegetarian meal that taste like the real thing! I'd recommend the dish 5.1. I really enjoyed it and if I didn't know that it wasn't meat I wouldn't have figured it out.
EVERYTHING ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! I eat meat, but if I lived in Concord, I swear I could EASILY become a vegetarian! Extensive menu, expertly prepared, well-seasoned dishes, FLAVORFUL sauces!!! OH SO YUMMY!!! (This is where we usually go, when I visit family in the Bay Area). Can't wait for the next time!
Best vegan food ever! We ordered the salt and pepper "shrimp", the Mongolian "beef", chow mein, Thai fried rice and basil eggplant for a family of 4. All was delicious! If you decide to eat here you will not be disappointed
I love this place because they have the best vegan options. I had the Mongolian beef one day. Last time I was there I had the scrumptious sweet and sour beef. They have many other vegan/vegetarian options too. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a healthy meat alternative.
Ordered the Tofu Special for take out and...MY GOD! SOO DELICIOUS! Crispy tofu on a bed of sliced carrots & cucumbers with broccoli and cauliflower. If you dont like it spicy, be sure to have them skip the sliced jalapenos. Otherwise they're a nice kick of heat with the awesome flavor of this dish. Was well worth the wait and they were quite busy for the lunch hour too. Going to have to come back.
I've actually never been here personally cus I live in Sacramento, but my friend who lives in the bay Bay area knows to bring me the "chicken" drumstick things from this place every time he goes. They're SO GOOD. OMG. Literally broke my diet just to eat a whole bucket of them. With the sauce they send with it... It's pretty much perfection.
Amazing Selection of food, almost entirely Vegan but not quite there, they have some vegetarian options. The staff is nice and polite and very helpful. This is one of my favorite spots to grab a quick bite to eat. Try the Pho or the potato curry.
Quick, inexpensive and delicious A quiet little gem for inexpensive vegetarian fare in concord. A nice selection of faux meat dishes made fresh. Loads of good veggies. Some spicy dishes, some not. Something for every palate
Every time I go it's a toss up for two of my favorite dishes. Luckily they are both big enough to share. The seafood soup and the Vietnamese crepe. Any of the fried rice are also a delicious addition.
Love it all, the curry and lemongrass tofu are amazing! Prices are also outstanding! So stoked to have an all vegan restaurant in concord! Newest find: The egglpant tofu claypot dish is AMAZING!!!
They were closed for the pandemic but have reopened. I absolutely love the ginger chicken! The prices are excellent for the amount of food you get. All of their dishes make excellent leftovers.
They've increased their prices recently but it's still a fair price place to go considering how good the food is and the portions they give. The service is great and I always love the food here. I've been coming here for at least two years and I'm never unsatisfied by service or food.
Great place to eat. I've been a vegetarian for 3 years. Came across this place and is now one of my favorites! Staff is nice, food is served at a Good time. Nice experience.
The food was exceptional. Fresh ingredients and perfectly seasoned. Will eat here whenever in the area. Highly recommend.
The food here is so creative and excellent. The Spicy fried shrimp and fish, mongolian beef, chicken chow was all so delicious. What makes it creative is it's all vegan! I've already been multiple times and plan to continue to go. My whole family loves it, even my meat eaters.
By far the best food in town- argue with the wall. I’m not even vegan and I love this place. Its affordable with large serving portions. Convenient location in downtown with plenty of parking. Family friendly and makes for a cute date spot. The food is phenomenal. 10 out of 10 obsessed with this place. Only downside is sometimes their hours are off or they close early.
5 star for me. I love the food. If you're a vegan or a vegetarian this is a good spot for you. My favorite dishes are the curry fried rice, the potato curry and the egg rolls.
Salt and pepper shrimp (vegan) was really good. Flavor was nice with a spicy kick. Staff was very accommodating as far as what we didn't want in our food.
Hadn't had pho since I switched to a vegan diet several years ago. Didn't realize how much I missed pho until I tried this vegan take on it. It was delicious! I also had the teriyaki chicken, which was also delicious. Will be coming back to this place. Very satisfying meal!
Very special vegan dishes. The salmon is off the hook. So many choices!!! Another fabulous dis is the salt and pepper shrimp!
This place is a vegan's dream. The food is so authentic and it tastes amazing. I want to try everything on the menu! Great portion sizes as well! I will definitely be back :)
Amazing vegan food. I recommend the beef noodle soup and drumsticks. I've never had anything like their "fish", it tastes so much like the real thing. Fast service too. My favorite vegan place in this area!
Veggie Today is new to our area, and a very welcome addition. Their menu is extensive, they are open for lunch and dinner, and they will work with you for special dietary needs. We had green beans and tofu over rice, a sesame and eggplant dish and curry vegetables over rice. All were excellent. The service was pleasant and fast. We look forward to going back here again and again to eat their healthy dishes. The restaurant is small, but pleasantly decorated. It is just two blocks from Todos Santos Plaza, west of Concord Ave. on Salvio St. There is lots of free parking around. It is about a 15 minute walk from the Concord BART Station.
A must for vegan Chinese food in the Bay Area. Modest pricing and tasty food. Service is fast and the food is amazing. A go to spot for spicy noodle soup especially on these cold days. Go here. I highly recommend
Small simple restaurant with good energy and happy patrons upon entering. Excellent fresh and flavorful food. And it’s meatless! Had the pineapple salmon, chicken curry and the chowmein. It was all very flavorful. I could tell everything was freshly prepared. The chowmein looked like it was going to be simple but I was pleasantly surprised when I found it to be packed with flavor. I’ve been wanting to try this place for years. I am eager to go back. Polite, peaceful server was very kind. I asked the table of four next to us about their experience and they were all thoroughly pleased with their meals. It’s great to have a vegan option for dinner and right near the heart of Concord’s downtown area.
I tried the wheat noodle soup with the added "shrimps" that had a great texture. I simply loved the fried drumsticks with the sauce, so good! Happy to see a menu with almost everything vegan. The staff was really nice and helpful. Plus for clean restaurant and reasonable prices.
My mom and I loved this place and she doesn't eat vegan. We tried the potstickers, their version of cha cha shrimp. And one of the fried rices. The Thai tea was one of the best I've had and I can't stop thinking about it.
Great vegan food. Amazing flavors. Excellent service.
Went here with my kids for the first time and ordered the fried veggie drumsticks appetizer, vegan potstickers and veggie chicken with tofu and mixed vegetables. Atmosphere is quiet and service is fast. Very highly recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Love the spicy noodles soup! Highly recommend getting this along with the drumsticks appetizer :)
Very good vegetarian restaurant one of the best in Concord. It’s always fresh, delicious and leaves you feeling healthy. I’ve been here plenty of times and it’s always consistent.

THIS IS THE BEST VEGAN RESTAURANT THAT I HAVE BEEN TO. ONLY USING THE FRESHEST AND FINEST INGREDIENTS! CREATING THE BEST FLAVORS AND PROFILES THAT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND! FIVE STARS FOR THE TEAM 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟
It is so rare to have a vegan vietnamese place of this caliber! I got the spicy noodle soup and it was really tasty...i like it really spicy hot so i loaded it up with the chili paste and siracha...it came with shredded cabbage, lime, mint, and jalapeno. I definitely going back to try the other dishes
Amazing all around , flavorful food and great customer service !
My 4.5 year old daughter wanted me to let readers know that she liked the plant based pot stickers and a few sips of the vegan Thai iced tea. Great atmosphere! I really appreciate the quietness for conversation and am grateful there is no TV to distract my child from what’s important - enjoying the delicious food! We also had the basil eggplant tofu with brown rice. Yummy!
Ate here for the first time today. We enjoyed all the dishes we ordered, but the caramelized chicken and the chow mein were our two favorites. The menu has both vegetarian and vegan options and food came out quickly and was hot and delicious. We don't live close, but when we're in the area we plan to come back. If tour looking for healthy vegetarian Asian food then this may be your spot too!
This restaurant is a local gem! My friend ordered the food for us to share. The first dish she surprised me with was the Foo Young, and I wanted to take all the foo young home for my family to try! It was so yummy! Their Vietnamese crepes are also made perfectly! We enjoyed the clay pot with all the mushrooms and veggies too. Don’t overlook this #vegan, #plantbased, #plantforward treasure! Great staff as well. may they always be blessed with plenty of business 🙏🏼
This place is simply an amazing gift for vegetarian and vegan people in Concord. I still come from Pittsburg to eat here regularly and we've used them to cater once as well Do NOT sleep on the house specialties. The sizzling crepe (savory), the crispy fish, seafood soup, and Thai fried rice are all just AMAZING dishes. Staff is very nice, the place is usually clean and quiet, and service is just right. You won't be pestered, but you'll also have anything you need and water top offs the whole time you're there. Cannot recommend this place enough!
Wonderful place! I have been eating here since they opened. Still fantastic service with takeout. I truly appreciate the care taken when they package their food. They always package the wet items so to prevent any car spill, soups always have the noodles packed separate from the broth to prevent soggy noodles, and fresh herbs toppings are included separate. Great owners. Highly recommend
Veggie Today tops my list when I want my fix of meatless vegan food. The Drumsticks, Thai fried rice and Mongolian beef are my favorites as they are simply delicious! Their soup varieties are worth trying too. I have visited this place few times with my family and the food is consistently good. They also have extensive menu items. Best vegan menu in the area!
The food is outstanding. I had the Foo Young appetizer and Curry Vermicelli soup. Both so flavorful, you can taste the love in their food. My stomach left full and my heart left happy. Can't wait to go back and try more things.

Simple place with parking right outside. Food was quite tasty. Vegan food with meat substitutes. A little chilly inside and not much decoration but service was good. Soup dishes were delicious
I have been here twice and overall the food is good. I had the spring rolls, Mongolian beef and Mongolian chicken. It's a little salty. The Thai iced tea is good. Service is attentive and prices are average.
Really delicious fresh vegan dishes with amazing sauces. Not a fancy place, but definitely worth returning to. I bought 5 dishes to take back home to SF after my trailrun on Mt. Diablo. I recommend eating here.
100% vegetarian, mostly vegan, mostly tasty (4/5 Green Stars, also). Veggie today is pretty casual and brightly lit, so it has more of a café atmosphere than an intimate restaurant. We had four items and thought that two or three of them were good. The foo young appetizer was a highlight – it was large but not as heavy as other versions that I’ve had in the past, and had good flavor and a little crunch. The wonton soup was mixed: good flavor in the soup but maybe too heavy on salt (I was so thirsty after it!) and the wonton wrappers were a bit thick (but the filling was good!). The caramelized vegan chicken had good flavor and a nice chewy texture but the dish could have done with a bit more spinach (to justify being called a “bed of spinach” on the menu). The tamarind beef was our least favorite – it was just too sweet for both of us. But other people seem to love that dish so don’t let me put you off ordering it; perhaps it’s just me – I’ve rarely found a vegan “beef” dish that I love. Vegan chicken (or just good-old tofu) always seems like a better bet. Both of the protein dishes were pretty light on veggies (esp. the tamarind beef) so bear that in mind when ordering. I’d like to go back and discover some favorites. I’m also giving Veggies Today 4/5 “green stars” for social and environmental impact, based on these reasons: • As stated on their menu: 100% vegetarian. • Almost all items on the menu are vegan (check with your server). The wonton soup is specifically labeled on the menu as not vegan so I think there are only a few dishes that are not vegan. • As anyone who’s trying to go plant-based knows, restaurants where you can order almost anything on the menu are a blessing for the movement! • No information about sourcing on the menu (e.g., is the tofu organic?). That’s the main downside for me – I like my tofu to be organic, if possible (rice & veggies too). • Drinks are provided by Coke (so they could do better there, but they do have tea). • For people getting take-out, they use standard Chinese take-out boxes and plastic bags (a third area for improvement: compostable boxes and paper bags). Appears to be a hole in the wall but nice family style restaurant/pick up and go atmosphere. Food was tasty and enjoyed the plant based flavors and texture. Overall, would definitely return. Oh we got the sour soup cat fish with fish clay bowl along with thai fried rice and tofu. Fire.

The restaurant was empty at 1:45pm the whole time we were there?, the prices are quite steep for the portions size....45$ for 2 people lunch without tip, food quality was average. Disappointing, seems like they raise price and reduced quality, and too many tofu dishes, they put tofu in everything, that's unnecessary and boring.
