Best food in socal! I drive 45 min to come get a sandwich. Well worth it!

My daughter had been wanting to bring me to the Capri Deli for quite sometime. She says the sandwiches are so good, and i agree. I had a Pastrami it was delicious. She had some kind of soup i don't remember if it was cream of broccoli or chicken soup but it was also very tasty. This place got full during the lunch rush hour luckily we got there before the people started arriving.

I have been coming here for years. I met the friendliest and nicest employee today that has ever worked there. Not sure her name. Short white hat, black shirt black and copper glasses. She is so sweet and good with conversation while working. Thank you so much today it was the best visit I have ever had there.

I have been going here for years and they don't disappoint! I only ordered the turkey sandwiches. And they have a good attitude due to this being a fast-paced deli... and the food is like Tony. The tiger would say it is GREAT!!

There sandwichs are delicious 😋 I got 2 large ham for my family and I it was pretty warm outside today so there sandwiches hit the spot. The 6 inch sandwich roll, for me, is always tastier and less much less bready than the 12 inch roll. Other than that, I have no complaints. Lovely family owned business.

Its all about the sauce. I worked at the Los Angeles Deli in the 70's, try Papa D's BBQ sauce, maybe with ham n swiss cheeze or homemade meatballs.

1st time my wife and I visiting Capri Deli for lunch at 1:30pm. Very busy, lots of customers waiting to place their food order. This restaurant is so popular due to the delicious sandwiches, great service, clean dining area, clean restrooms,and nice old time atmosphere. We definitely will be back again when we are in the Covina area. Keep up the great Capri Deli teamwork.

A hidden treasure! A friend brought me here and was not let down. Sandwiches are incredible and fresh. Service is good, and they are patient even when it was busy. The entire menu looks good, which made it hard to choose what to get, and that's why I said they are very patient. Parking is limited in the area, so try to get there before the busy times. Been coming here since I can remember. Food is always fresh and made in front of you. The pizza and pastas are killer too. Good selection of drinks including beer. There is seating which is limited but its worth it even if you have to wait. Staff is always smiling and in good moods. Its just an all around great place to eat.

Capri Deli is undoubtedly an authentic American deli shop. The sandwiches l purchased and sampled were incredibly fresh, moist, and delicious. Once you experience Capri Deli, you'll never want to return to getting your sandwiches from Subway. The prices are very reasonable and competitive compared to other delis. Additionally, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

I have an Italian momma, and we grew up in Covina, and this place was a staple of our childhood. I just love the smell of all the cheese..it's home. You can't go wrong with Capri Deli. The food is great...no matter what you're order it'll be delicious, I promise. I love the lasagna, the meatball grinder, and the Italian cookies. The catering is also amazing if you plan a party. Be prepared to wait if it's lunch hour but be patient please because the food is worth it. The parking is and has always been a little limited. There are small tables inside if you want to eat inside but the dining area is limited as well. Mangia!

We placed a sandwich order for pick up and it was ready and well packed. Everyone was super nice. Delicious food, all the special orders were correct.

This place makes a really great sandwich for a good price. If you are in the area, there is no need to go to a chain sandwich place like Subway. I ate the Veal Cutlet Specialty sandwich which was delicious. I was a bit disappointed to find that their Root Beers on Tap were not functioning, but their bottled Root Beer selection was still great. I will be coming back soon for another sandwich and hope the tap is working again.

This place has the best sausages sandwiches and service. The sausage is soft and full of flavor. I order it with garlic bread and fried peppers. So delicious 👍

Outstanding cold sandwiches for lunch. Try their turkey and provolone, just as it comes. No changes. Delicious. Also try a small cup of macaroni salad. In their fridge, they have many bottled drink choices that you never find in most shops. I'll be going back very soon!!!!! Extremely nice and accommodating staff as well.

3rd time was the charm for me at Capri. The two other times I tried to get a sandwhich the lobby was filled and the wait was long. Today it was before 10:30 and I was able to order. I decided on the corned beef on rye. Dijon and cheese was a great choice. I also included the pickle and Cole slaw. When I get this type of sandwhich, I feel like the lettuce and tomatoes are missing. However for a true corned beef it’s just like this. The doffeeence is that every other time I tried this type it was dry. Not so at Capri. Warm meat, fresh bread made for a great experience. I also picked up a lasagna for later. Big plus in having fountain drinks, mandatory. Also the gal who made my sandwich was friendly.

The food is incredibly good here. Tastes just like Nonna made it! Pure comfort food at its best. I always get the lasagna here, especially if I'm going to have some unexpected guests come over & the lasagna is always a hit. The service is very friendly, courteous & professional. Everyone is cheerful, smiling, and helpful & they greet you with sincerity. It's a clean place, it's a deli. So, it's a deli atmosphere, but you can sit at a table & eat your food. It's not a fancy restaurant, but if you want delicious food that tastes homemade & fresh, Capri is the place.

The pastrami is a solid 4-4.5 stars but I was a little disappointed in the bowtie and olive salads I got as sides as neither one had black olives in them and the bowtie pasta needed more "zing," like garlic or salt or something. They have a large selection of bagged chips which is nice, and a fridge full of bottled sodas and beer, in addition to a Coca Cola fountain with refills. I don't know if the pastrami was the best I ever had but everything was good, what more can you ask for. All the food in the picture was about $20 (no drink). I bumped the review up to 5 stars for the prompt, friendly service and the cozy atmosphere full of smiling customers.

Holy smokes this food was fantastic and easily surpassed our usual go-to places for Dipped sandwiches and quite possibly for Italian food. We ordered a large Turkey hot Dipped sandwich to share and it was HUGE!! Each half came with it's own side of Au Jus with plenty of sliced pickles and fresh bread. Don't let the picture fool you; this sandwich was gigantic!!! At first we thought we would have to take it to go but we're happy to see thst they had a large seating area in the back. The service was great and friendly giving us good recommendations for our future return visits. They have plenty of sandwiches and salads to choose from, hot pasta dishes, as well as pizza. They offer their pasta dishes frozen already packed and oven ready for an amazing price. Our old family favorite is in Burbank and we are delighted to have found Capri Deli in our neck of the woods. We look forward to frequenting this place at least a few times a month.

Ordering the yardstick which is good for 5 to 8 person. It gets busy when getting a sandwich on this spot.

I like this deli & if in the area definitely a stop for a to go order. I'm not big on their pizza or hot pasta dishes, but the sandwiches is why I stop. Pastrami is good, but I usually go for the cold sandwiches done classic style, lettuce, tomatoes, oil, vinegar or mayonnaise & mustard. Your choice.

We had 3 of their Large Cold Turkey Pastrami Sandwiches, with 1 pound of the red potatoe salad, and 1 quart of the chocolate milk. The line was really long when I arrived but that was not a problem. It was well worth the wait! The staff was hustling! They cut our Large subs in half for us and wrapped them up individually. They also wrapped up the chocolate milk and put it alongside the sandwiches and red potatoe salad in a large brown bag for me. What excellent service!! The sandwiches are so delicious and huge. We will have half of the sandwich for lunch and the other half for dinner. Thank you so much Capri Deli!! 🥖😋

Been coming to Capri Deli for years. Today, I had the Cold Cut Combo with pepperoncinis and a sliced marinated peppered eggs. Absolutely great place for the greatest sandwiches! They also have ready to cook lasagna platters, beef jerky, great desserts, lots of different types of craft style sodas and drinks, Draft beer, cold sandwiches, hot sandwiches, pizza, salads, Italian cooking supplies, there's a lot to list! Capri deli is a staple in my family, and for good reason. My grandparents turned me on to this place and I still love showing up when I'm in the area. Some of the best sandwiches money can buy. The cold cut sandwich is an absolute classic and worth every penny. The 7-in is big enough to feed a man and the 12-in will feed two. On tap root beer is the best I've ever had. And the employees are actually nice and decent to customers.

Our family has been coming here for decades because the food is great. They have the best sandwiches around, in my opinion. I try to call ahead of time because there is usually a long line (of course there would be for food this good), but even when I don't call ahead the wait is worth it. The bread is always soft and fresh and they do NOT skimp on the fillings. I finally ordered the Colossus sandwich (3 feet long, 14-16 inches wide; $125.95 + $12 optional cutting fee) from their catering menu for a Super Bowl party that we hosted and it was a hit. I ordered half with turkey and the other half as a cold cut combo. Their family meals with spaghetti, ravioli, and lasagna are also our favorites and the Italian cookies at the front get us every time. The kids love the drink selection, which includes a large array of unique bottled soda flavors. I hope they never go out of business!

I visited a this charming sandwich and Italian food spot that was clean and cozy. I went in to buy frozen lasagna for dinner, which they sell in both big trays and smaller ones, making it convenient no matter how many people you're feeding. The place also offers a delightful selection of Italian cookies, spumoni ice cream, and various Italian groceries. They have a sandwich shop as well, and I have to say, their meatball sandwich is my favorite. It's always a treat! I always enjoy stopping by when I'm in the area. Great spot for a bite. I have had better sandwiches IMHO, but the 5 stars is for the convenience of calling in and picking up. Service was very friendly and convenient since they have a sign and window to direct you. Many places offer phone orders, but then you have to wait in line anyway to pick up your order but not here. Don’t get me wrong, the food is good and I enjoyed my cold cut combo (which was huge by the way), I just have my favorites. As a whole though, everything I’ve tried is solid. Not a bad sandwich in the bunch.

My(& my friends) favorite casual dining place for fantastic sandwiches, pizza 🍕, old school sodas and beer! Today chose a 2 item sub with turkey and Italian mortadella with Italian dressing(you can also add mayonaise, which I didn't). Just delicious! Also loved 😍 the red potato salad, cole slaw(just average) and a delicious Diet Dad's Root Beer! Didn't get this time but also make a great Pastrami Dip sandwich and awesome pizza. A definite 👍 favorite deli!

This is a medium sized well allocated Deli. It's well maintained with an eclectic collection of performers pictures lining the walls (Dean Martin, The Jackson 5, Clint Eastwood, Diana Ross etc.).There is limited indoor seating. The food was fresh and the portion size was satisfying. The dessert was moist and delicious. There is a small parking lot. The service was welcoming and the prices were fair.

Stopped here to try their Pastrami Dip and it was delicious. Generous portion, soft bread, and tasty pastrami. My only complaint is that they don’t have onions. Which is weird. I also tried the Italian Wedding soup and it was also very good. Just had to add a touch of salt but I’m pretty sure it was homemade sausage and lots of escarole and pasta. There is a huge selection of bottled drinks to chose from and a good amount of searing. Service was quick and friendly and pricing was reasonable. Definitely recommend f.

One of my favorite sandwich spots in Covina. MOST of the sandwiched I've had are awesome...with the exception of the French dip roast beef. Bread- nice and soft, amount of beef- plenty, tenderness of beef- perfect, but flavor - non existent! Meat, cheese, and bread all dipped in the au jus, but there was literally zero flavor. I had to test my taste buds with my chips and drink. It was like I had covid and lost my taste buds. Very disappointing, but I'll still be back for all of the other wonderful food.

First Time - definitely an east coast deli sandwich shop vibe, got the cold cut combo, usually the best test, personally dont like sesame seeds on the roll but the bread was good and it didn't detract much, meat was high quality other than hard salami which i dont care for in a cold cut. All in all a good grinder for CA.

So many choices of good sandwiches. Lines can get long here so good thing we went early. Got the corned beef on rye with the kicker horseradish Dijon mustard! And I added my own limon chips in the sandwich and yum!! My friend got the pastrami and it was nice and moist, shared coleslaw and macaroni salad and the creme brulee cheesecake. Had a nice place to sit in and eat the staff was amazing. Thank you for a first time experience!

I recently ordered the regular size salami sandwich at my Capri deli. I asked for it "their way" with heavy mustard and no tomatoes. The sandwich was a 6-inch sub for $9.99. The sandwich was okay, but nothing to write home about. The salami was thinly sliced and there were only about 6 slices on the whole sandwich. I'm used to getting more salami on my sandwiches, so I was a little disappointed. The mustard was good and the bread was fresh, but overall the sandwich was just average. I've been coming to this deli for years and I've always enjoyed their food. However, I've noticed that they've been skimping on the portions lately. This is the second time I've ordered a sandwich and been disappointed with the amount of meat. The deli is going through some changes and remodeling, so I'm hoping that the food quality will improve once they're done. In the meantime, I'll probably skip this place unless I'm really craving a sandwich.

This is a great spot. They have a variety of choices on their menu to choose from. They have a great deli with fresh meats and cheeses and have a great selection of imported drinks. The pizzas are really good too! Every time I come here it's always a little busy but worth the wait. This deli seems to have a popular following which is great, I'll be back for sure!

Been coming here for quite sometime now, this place has always had good food. I've tried several of their sandwiches but my fave would have to be the lasagna and garlic bread hands down best on their menu. Service wise on that part they are just average it's like a hit and miss all depends on who you get taking your order some are alright the rest meh...and phone orders you'll be lucky if they answer the phone and if they do you'll be put on hold -FOR-E-VERR- "squints" other than that food is topnotch and place is always pretty cleaned!

Also, they have surcharge for credit card use, the sign is very small and hard to notice. It would be helpful if the cashier would remind or tell customers of the surcharge before we pay, in case we don’t see the sign.

I simply called this place the day before New Year’s Eve to see if they were open on New Year’s Eve, instead they hung up on me three times not to get an answer. I realize that you’re close, but if you’re close just don’t answer the phone, I thought I could ask a simple question instead all I got was disrespect and unprofessionally . You definitely lost a customer going into the new year. Congratulations.

Was really hopeful for a great Sammy however was completely disappointed. I based my decision to go here for the first time based on the pictures and reviews. I guess me not being a regular got me the regular French roll unlike the sesame seed topped bread I was expecting. If that was an option I wish it was presented to me as I had mentioned it was my first time. Anyways I will not be back. The only thing going for them was they sell bread from my local baker and maybe the pizza as it looked good in the picture however I will not be back to spend my hard earned money for such a bait and switch.

Plus their turn over is so high that the quality is now inconsistent as well as the serving sizes. Beef dips not dipped. I remember what everyone looks like so when I go back in 6 months I will look for whom I remember. Like walking into a barber shop for a quality cut.

I’ve been going here for years. Today I ordered 3 sandwiches. Two of them only had one layer of meat with tons of mustard and Mayo. We paid almost 40.00 for bread with mustard and mayonnaise. I called and they told me they knew who made them, hopefully they’ll be better next time. Very disappointed.

ready for pickup at 7:00pm. Got there exactly at 7:00pm and waited in line and when we gave the guy the name for the pickup he went to the back and let me know our food had been sold to someone else and apologized saying he could make a large sandwiches to equal which would take more time and just said it had been a crazy weekend. Horrible service and unacceptable way to do business. Waste of time.

Bad experience today been coking here for years from oc the drive today was especially long only to be greeted by the two most rudest sandwich makers I even felt like I needed to call and let them know we did not feel at home.

1st time my husband & I tried Capri Deli...we read the reviews & it seems like it would be better than our other pastrami shops (The Hat &Jims Burger...etc) plus, this would be closer to us. WELL, BIG FAIL! As you can see on the picture attached almost 1/2 of meat was fat, plus was more salty than others for a $15 sandwich! So my husband called Capri Deli & he spoke to a manager to tell her how dissatisfied we were but she answered "yes, our pastrami is a bit fatty, sorry", he gave her the opportunity to make it right but she just kept saying "sorry" he said well, we would not come back to Capri Deli, she replied "I'm sorry to hear that" WE ARE STICKING TO OUR USUAL PLACES!

Oh my goodness I am absolutely disgusted. I found this wire rubbery sing in my sandwich when I call to speak to the manager I was placed on hold for about 5 mins same girl comes back on the phone and says was there something wrong with your pastrami sandwich come and we will give you a new one. this is what they give me. What a joke.

I stood in line for 15 mins. Waited over 20 minutes for the food to be prepared after I ordered. Just a pastrami dip and a chicken Parm sandwich. Only to drive all the way home and realize my chicken Parm sandwich is a corned beef sandwich. No lunch for me today I suppose. I spent a total of 75 dollars bc I picked up some lasagna and stuffed shells for dinner too. 😞 Only to call in and be told they are too busy with other customers. Please hold. I've been on hold 15 minutes. This place used to be my favorite. After how I was treated today, I don't foresee going back again😭

In town visiting family and Capri came to mind, haven't been here in years thinking I would get a sandwich packed with meat like how it was years before. Ordered a large turkey but seriously a layer or meat and the bread was hard to chew. So nowadays we get less product and more of a charge what a disappointment. Will not recommend nor come back anymore, and I'm still hungry.
