Beautiful restaurant and atmosphere, kind and attentive staff and delicious food

We were here on Valentine’s Day and honestly, it was the best food, most amazing service and a wonderful atmosphere!! Our waitress Annecia was just wonderful, really kind and friendly. She was for sure the face of the restaurant and made the experience fabulous (together with the lovely food, of course!) Annecia needs a raise for sure!! Will definitely be back soon ☺️

Always a lovely time at Kitten. Can’t go wrong with them :). Ambience, food and staff are always on point! Would advise to make a reservation as it’s fully booked sometimes.

We had a fantastic time at this restaurant! The food was incredible, and everything we ordered was delicious, definitely worth the price! The atmosphere was really cool, with a trendy yet intimate vibe that made it a great spot for hanging out with a friend. The service was top-notch, with the staff being friendly and attentive throughout our meal. I’d definitely recommend it for a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience!

Came here for my partners Birthday meal and it was insane. Some of the best sushi and best food we have eaten. It is has a higher price point for obvious reasons (however if you go on a Monday or Thursday you get a discount) and was 1000% worth the visit and money. The quality and taste was perfect. The Staff were lovely and gave good recommendations, I would personally recommend the hash browns and the Dragon uramaki roll. We also had a few cocktails and they were so good (and strong). The vibes and decor were gorgeous and this is unlike any restaurant I’ve been to would be in my top 3 places of all time. Thank you very much to everyone who works there and for making it such a great experience

Another gem of a restaurant discovered this weekend in Manchester at Kitten. Went for a date night with partner after a few drinks around the city and the food/service here was an excellent end to the day. We sampled a decent range of the menu from their wagyu which was cooked perfectly to a sushi platter which was presented beautifully. The fire prawns were very tasty but for the price I would have liked a few more than 3 we got. We finished with their signature ferrero rocher inspired desert which again was lovely. The aesthetics inside kitten we stunning, plenty of open space for dining while maintaining a connection to the bar/kitchen where you can see food being prepared. Our waiting staff for the evening were amongst the best Manchester has to offer. Super friendly, attentive but not intrusive, and happy to chat and have a laugh when we engaged them. Front of house was lovely and welcoming on arrival. Huge thanks to the kitten team for a great date night, we loved it and will return again

Food was amazing, we did the Valentines set menu, and it was wonderful. So much food for the price making it not feel overly expensive and really great tasting food. Highly recommend the truffle roast potatoes if you get the chance to have those. My girlfriend really enjoyed it and found it a trendy place while still being intimate if you’re going as a couple.

Absolutely loved KITTEN Manchester. The ambience was lovely — sleek, modern, and full of energy. Service was attentive and warm, making the whole experience even better. The fusion Japanese dishes were creative, beautifully plated, and packed with flavour — every plate we ordered was a hit. Cocktails were equally impressive, both in presentation and taste. A perfect spot for a night out with friends or date night. Can’t wait to return and explore more from the menu!

I’ve been here many times and it is my favourite sushi restaurant! I especially love the golden roasted duck roll. The staff are always extremely friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is lovely.

Food was out of this world! Service was quick, and atmosphere was bumpin! 10/10 date night spot, especially for the Mon orThurs half price deal 🔥

This is officially my third time visiting, and the experience just keeps confirming that this is my new go-to sushi haven. The sushi is truly exceptional and filing. Beyond the food, the ambiance is simply perfect. I definitely recommend it!

This place is AMAZING! The food, the atmosphere—everything is incredible. I'm especially in love with their Dragon Roll and Wagyu. Kitten is my go-to spot for two years. They offer 50% off every Monday and Thursday, so if you’re looking for a better deal, definitely check it out on those days. Just remember to book in advance for those nights! And thanks again for the incredible service 🫶🏻

Absolutely loved Kitten. The atmosphere is super chic and lively, perfect for a nice dinner out or a special occasion. The sushi was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was packed with flavour, and the quality was consistent throughout. The service was friendly and attentive without being overwhelming, which made the whole experience even better. Prices are on the higher side, but completely worth it for the quality, vibe, and overall experience. Definitely one of my favourite sushi spots in Manchester.

Came to kitten to celebrate a very special evening! The vibe and ambience was amazing, it’s definitely the best designed restaurant I’ve been to in Manchester so far! The food was good with a few bits of food falling a little short for value however overall was very good! Extremely pleased with the service it was in fact the highlight of our night we had an amazing waitress named Eilee who was just amazing in every aspect definitely made the evening complete! She went the extra mile everytime so she should be proud of the work she does

Kitten served the best food I've had in a lonnnnggg time! The steak, sushi, octopus and the POTATOES were amazing. Annecia, Shannon and Khalid made our dinning experience amazing - thank you both!! Special thanks to Annecia for the food recommendations and looking after us🙏🏾

Really nice restaurant with top quality food. My partner and I shared the platter in the picture and it was simply outstanding. Tom was serving our drinks and Gary prepped our food and both were happy and smiling throughout. The owner came over to ensure we were enjoying our time and we incredibly welcoming. A must in Manchester!

Amazing food amazing service! Best sushi in Manchester though on the dearer side but understandable with the ambiance and service you receive. The inside is beautiful and the selection of dishes and sushi are huge, we took advantage of the 50% and everything we had was of top quality and unique. Only thing is the dessert they have currently is super dear for what it is! Would go again!

We had a very enjoyable meal with good quality sushi and impressive cocktails to compliment it. The blue and black tuna was superb and the spider roll was the best roll we ordered. The desserts were also enjoyable with the cherry mouse the standout. Also a good selection of cocktails highlights were the spicy martini and the lychee based cocktail. It would have been a perfect evening but for a few minor details. It was very hard to speak/have conversation as there was a live DJ and the level was high all night. (We did read reviews so it was expected) There was a slight pause in our service as it seemed 2 of our dishes were delayed after initially very quick service. Sitting at a table near (but not on top of) the door they could do with a porch of some sort as it was very cold everytime the door opened (and this week was much milder than recently). Overall though a very enjoyable evening.

Stunning. Really well put together menu with great options. The team were well accommodating- and we were looked after really well by our server - Food was amazing quality and delicious. For the quality / portion / service on offer the price point is perfect also. We visited as a group of three which can sometimes mean your an awkward group to serve but we were so well looked after. 11/10 - will definitely be back and can not recommend enough. The whole Seabass MUST be tried (Side note - went on a really dark rainy miserable evening- ambiance stunning at venue but not the best lighting for food pics - all plates looked stunning)

Thoroughly enjoyed my evening at Kitten, we went on one of the 50% off nights and it felt like we could really indulge, whilst still coming out at a reasonable price. The food was delicious, highlight was the duck sushi and the grilled octopus! We ordered 5 dishes between two of us and left very full and happy. Very nice vibes, feels fancy for an anniversary meal or special occasion. Will definitely be coming back!

We had a lovely date night together at kitten. The food was so beautifully presented and tasted great. We dined on a Monday and it was a pleasant atmosphere with the staff friendly and approachable. Although one of our servers appeared to be new she was friendly and attentive and anything she was unsure of she just went to check with a more experienced server, which was absolutely fine. A really lovely and impressive venue I spent so much time looking around and taking it all in. We had 3 dishes each and found it to be enough for us alongside x2 bar snacks the Tayto’s and sourdough toast unfortunately they had none of the edamame beans left but we will be back next time for those! 😍

Really enjoyed dinner here, the restaurant is beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. Possibly the best sushi I’ve had in Manchester so far. The sushi rolls are made fresh so this accommodates to people with allergies which is fab. All staff are friendly and our server Armaghan was lovely, professional and knowledgeable of the food and drinks. My only dislike was the mocktail. I assumed it was going to be sweet as I ordered strawberry but it was very bitter with a lemon taste, which at £9 is very expensive for what it was.

Had the best evening dining at Kitten! Our first time here and we will definitely be back. Sushi was amazing and the vibe was amazing in the restaurant. Unreal Dj and friendly staff! Such a gorgeous restaurant too, loved the whole vibe.

Visited Kitten tonight for my anniversary. The food and drinks were perfect, the atmosphere was great also! The service we received from Holly was 5* - she made the experience for us. Really attentive, welcoming and kind.

Really amazing food and cocktails, our waitress Liz was really friendly and great with helping us with allergies, she was super clear with what we could or couldn’t order. Even with shellfish allergies the menu had so many amazing options!! The atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant was really cool - really recommend Kitten!

Got the steak on Waygu Wednesday. The steak quality is so amazing that we ordered a second portion (the portion size is 250g so it is good as well) ! Would definitely come again.

We came to visit Kitten as an unscheduled visit and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. To start with, there were no seats available and the staff quickly made the effort to book a reservation with the option to wait at the bar and order some appetisers. My husband and I ordered some edamame and miso toast - both of which were phenomenal and by far the best we have had in Manchester. Unfortunately, there was a bit of a wait due to some confusion amongst the staff but our waiter for the rest of the evening, Owen, went above and beyond to make our experience nothing short of perfect. Owen was polite, friendly, engaged in conversation and really exceeded our expectations. Nothing was too much of an ask - so much so that he offered to waive the cost of the appetisers due to the delay. The evening followed with exceptional sushi and steak which my husband and I devoured and we both managed to finish our plates (which never happens)! A special thank you to Owen - we are new to Manchester and will definitely be visiting again due to his accommodating nature and the wonderful food. By far the best sushi that we have tried.

Came here for the 50% off offer, which is on Monday and Thursday. The food was okay, nothing special but what does make the restaurant nice is the decoration and music. There was a DJ, and the music never got too loud - but we came here quite early (around 6).

Cool restaurant with great service and contemporary aesthetics. The scallop sashimi was a particular standout - it was SO good. Cocktails are also an absolute delight. Perfect for date night but also with your girl gang. Great service too - our waiter was really attentive. Love this restaurant, will definitely come back.

The service was amazing and our waitress Eilee was so lovely and brilliant. She made our night so special and was very accommodating. The food was okay - some dishes were better than others and the dessert was amazing. The atmosphere was also great and the interior was designed very well.

We visited Kitten last week for my friend’s birthday dinner. Such a beautiful interior. Attention to every detail and the service was great. The food was good, we ordered sushi and other small plates. Sushi was average but the rest was flavourful and fresh. I really enjoyed octopus and beef tataki. Wish it was warmer inside as it was 16 degrees outside that night and about the same inside with all the fans operating on full speed.

Visited Kitten in July, ambiance was great, clean tables and cutlery. Staff were attentive and gave great recommendations for sushi to try. Sushi was flavoursome, soft and balanced with the right spices. Dessert was different, a matcha roll, it was soft and sweet, perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. Definitely would recommend!

Good decoration, quality of ingredients was good, tastes okay but cocktail was really nice. I had Lychee Sake Martini and loved it. We went on Monday and got 50% discounts for foods, not drink and dessert.

I think it's overpriced. I've gone to restaurants were the food is overpriced but becuase it was great and delicious, I didn't mind too much. Usually the service in most of those places has been incredible... From my experience at Kitten, I don't think it fits that criteria. Service - 3 stars Food - 4 stars Atmosphere - 5 stars Portion size - ok

Food is good but not amazing. Staff were friendly and helpful but the service needs a bit of work... We ordered cocktails which only arrived half way through the food. The food is served ridiculously quickly which might be good for some. We asked for water for the table which arrived after our desserts and was just one small glass per person. The desserts on the menu weren't available, there's another limited dessert menu which seems to be shared between tables. And even for sushi it's expensive. Generally style over substance.

I love the decor of the restaurant and the chilled and relaxing atmosphere. We ordered the salmon, tuna and scallop sashimi, which was slightly disappointing. Not sure if it’s because of the warm weather but it didn’t taste high quality or fresh. The sushi roll we ordered which was the hello kitten, didn’t have much truffle flavour and the rice was overly done as it had a mushy texture to it and ruined the roll. However I did like a few other things like the chicken yakitori, which was flavoursome and succulent. The beef tataki was nicely seasoned and tasted fresh and the cuttlefish nigiri, which was fresh and had a nice crunch to it, rather than the usual chewiness you get.

Kitten has tons of potential, but currently doesn’t live up to its promise. We tried several dishes from the menu and while we didn’t dislike any of them, we were also not impressed. The kitchen uses good quality products organized around an interesting concept: a kind of Japanese fusion. The execution needs to be refined. We found several dishes unbalanced. The Korean BBQ steak tartare had too much sauce and relatively less meat. The tuna tacos, I felt, also had too much sauce and too little fish. Some of the main ingredients are being overpowered by seasoning, which, I find works best when it makes the main ingredient shine rather than when they cast a shadow over it. The Wagyu nigiri, which they list as one of their specials, was also difficult to enjoy. The presentation comes with a smoke machine, which does add flavor and to the experience. However, the piece is presented as a single piece nigiri, but may be the size of two or three nigiri making it hard to enjoy in one bite. Had the same dish been presented as two pieces instead of one, it would have been better. This gigantic nigiri with a large and thin piece of meat comes with a nice sweet sauce that compliments it nicely. We enjoyed the duck roll. The nigiri (we tried salmon and tuna) were good, though we found the rice base to be too compacted and somewhat wetter than usual. We also liked our cocktails and the sake selection. We were also disappointed with the service and the structure of the restaurant. We were sat on high top tables attached to the windows. Yes there is a nice view. But the table top is much too shallow making it hard to find space for the dishes and a challenge to share them with other people in your group. Empty cocktails glasses were left on our table throughout the dinner and forty dishes were not cleared when appropriate. This is a restaurant/club type of place where the music is loud. This does work for some dinners, but you should know what it is. Overall, Kitten has potential, and some of the offerings are close to hitting the right spot. Currently, the experience is a bit expensive for what it delivers.

Nice food and a lovely atmosphere and environment, but the service is very poor. Asked 5 times by the waiter whether we had allergies: thankfully no new ones had developed during the questioning process. Additionally we were given the hurry up to leave as they had later bookings: we’d only been sat down 1hr 15mins and had spent close to £200 in the place. Sort the customer service out and this place would be fantastic, but as it stands, it isn’t.

My friend and I did not make an appointment, but there were a lot of vacant seats on the spot, the waiter said that we only had seats in front of the bar, and we gladly accepted, one table of guests finished eating and leave the table, we asked the waiter if we could change to the table, she refused and said that it had been booked, but in fact, until we finished eating and left the restaurant , there were still many vacant seats. Food is just about the norm, and beef is always not easy to go wrong. After serving us two glasses of water for the first time, nobody take the initiative to refill for us, and we had to wait to find a waiter. The front of the plate was not facing us when it was served, and I have to say that the experience was very poor. Also, I ordered a cocktail, but it was really strong, it was literally only whiskey, and I only took two sips and gave up.

Sushi and the drinks were very good. I loved it But oh my lord, I can’t recall the service being this bad. Very and I mean very slow, they didn’t give us chopsticks because they were in a dishwasher, didn’t change the plate. The toilets were disgustingly dirty.

Had a reservation 2nd October, 7:45pm, seating at the bar. The previous customers were still using the seat, so the manager by 8pm offered us a table - all good. He did not however, tell us said table would need to be returned by 9pm, instead, out lovely waiter told us at 8:45 when I was still eating my sushi. Thanks manager - feel like these things should be communicated beforehand. 👎🏽 Rib eye tasted like it was left out for a while. Sushi was good. Wouldn’t go when it’s full price.

First time dining here, a table of four for a friends birthday. Service was disappointing and food was OK. Firstly, I want to point out their stupidly heavy doors, like?? If there’s no one on the doors to open for you, you’ve gotta use full force to open that thing. There were staff members at the reception as I stood there trying to open the door, but yet no one came to help open this thing, so after a few minutes of me standing outside in the rain, a customer that was sat at the table opposite came and opened it for me, shout out to him. As soon as I walked in, I still was not acknowledged or greeted, however my friends were already sat at our table so I just went straight over. Probably took 15 minutes for our drinks and food to be ordered, however the food did get served quite quickly but there was a bit of a wait between each dish. Each person ordered a 1 sushi roll each and we got some fried Chicken and pork belly “charsiu” which was so not worth £22! Such an average, the pork was dry and the sauce was nothing special. Sashimi was good but definitely had better in Manchester. By the time we finished the food, I’d say 16 - 20 minutes went by before the server came to clear our table, which she then asked us if we wanted to see the desert menu, we said yes and but then she told us that they needed the table back in 30 minutes… we did want to get a dessert for our friend since it was her birthday but it just made us want to just leave. Overall experience was 6/10. I don’t plan on dining here again.

I went to Kitten and tried several dishes from the menu. Overall, the product quality isn’t bad and the concept is interesting, but the experience felt inconsistent due to some clear imbalances in execution. For example, the Korean barbecue tartare was overly spicy and had far too much sauce compared to the amount of meat, which completely overpowered the main ingredient. The same issue happened with the tuna tacos: there was so much sauce that the tuna was barely noticeable. Honestly, it felt more like sauce with a hint of tuna rather than an actual tuna taco. The Wagyu nigiri was also difficult to enjoy. The cut of meat was too large for one bite and didn’t feel pleasant to eat. It would work much better if served in two pieces, with a better cut, or even lightly seared/flambéed the way it’s done in high-end restaurants. The highlight of the dinner was definitely the duck roll, which was genuinely delicious and the most well-executed dish. One more important point: the music was way too loud, making it hard to have a conversation and fully enjoy the experience, especially for a restaurant where you’re meant to share the moment with whoever you’re dining with. Overall, Kitten has potential, but I think the portions, sauce balance, and atmosphere need refinement. Considering the price point, the quality doesn’t fully match the expectation. With a few adjustments, it could be a much stronger experience.

Miesha J

I’m sure it is a lovely place, the experience I had was not the best however, my partner and I went for my birthday dinner, really excited to go, got to the restaurant the decor was absolutely beautiful, waited a little bit of our time for the table but that is a minor thing… we got seated and this is where it just deflated us entirely… they sat us at the back and to the side completely seperate from the entire restaurant, it looked like the place that had previously been where the coats were, with dividers all around, we could no longer actually see the restaurant and felt we were just shoved into a corner, we normally eat out for the experience as a whole and this completely took that away, if I were to offer any advice it would be to get rid of that table full stop …. We did ask to be moved but were told it’s fully booked and we can’t move so we decided to leave, it just didn’t feel special. When we said we were leaving they did say that a table had just come up but I think the damage was done at that point, to add to that my partners rattan chair also had a whopping hole in the seat and the table was wobbly, it just felt very much like we were in the naughty corner. A shame, we likely won’t be back.

Well well well…. What a bad kitten, nah honestly for myself best sushi I’ve had in England end of. Amazing deal they got on half price for food on the menue amazing. Food was quick to order maybe too quick I felt like I wanted to take on the atmosphere. The srrvice is what let me down. No acknowledgment of me and my partner 5 year anniversary, even though it was on the bookings No check backs , left in bar stools, took away of our experience at such a nice environment . Although staff were nice when spoken, however just kept their eye off the ball this night. Please go to kitten just wish I had a better time spent. Also I DID PAY SERVICE CHARGE , I’m not a monster just a honest guest!

Had heard good reviews about kitten for a while ! So with it being my birthday my sister recommended me to finally try , and as a foodie I usually stick to what I know I’ll love but I thought ok let’s give it a try ! Well The waitress we had was lovely , attentive can’t remember her name was a little to drunk begins with a , Sushi Was just mediocre Broccoli salad was nice We ordered the ribeye and the wagyu And both were sent back They smelt weird was chewy &considering we all ordered our meat to be cooked medium it was tough But overall food was mediocre and drinks wasn’t the best the strawberry mojito was basically lemonade with one piece of mint in won’t be back Wagyu should melt in ur mouth Still mortified So kitten is a no from me

A
Aish S

The food took 50 minutes to come, when we asked after 40 mins how long the waitress shrugged her shoulders and said I don’t know. Several tables behind us that ordered after us and got their food before us and within a reasonable time so was very odd. They told us they need the table back 10minutes after we got our food.. when we asked for the bill they took ages and then when we were paying the waiter said we need the table in 2/3 minutes as though it’s out fault the food took 50 minutes to come and very unnecessary considering we were paying. Also the waitress seemed to be putting soy sauce in everyone’s bowl except ours. Tables after ours ordered the same starter as us and it came within ten minutes. I’m really baffled why we were treated differently.

Y
Yodel Be yes

Massively overrated and delivered one of the worst service experiences I have ever had. The food is decent but that is the only positive. The staff are rude dismissive and completely uninterested in providing proper hospitality. From the moment we sat down it was obvious they were rushing us just to free up the table. We were constantly interrupted plates cleared aggressively and made to feel like an inconvenience. They completely ruined a birthday meal by coming over and asking if we still wanted the cake purely because they wanted us gone. No care no apology no professionalism just pressure and attitude. For a restaurant that charges premium prices the service is embarrassing and unacceptable. I would never return and would strongly advise others to avoid this place entirely.

N
Nayab Khan

Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. The staff attitude was unprofessional, and the quality of the food was extremely poor. I was also charged a service fee and additional extras without this being clearly explained or agreed to beforehand. Greater transparency with charges and a more courteous, customer-focused approach from staff would greatly improve the overall experience.
