Very solid steakhouse. It's been a while since I've been hear, and I was not disappointed. They can seat groups of various sizes. The steaks were amazing. I got the NY steak/sirloin. The ribeye was amazing, and the prime rib looked incredible too. You enter and are seated and the vibe is really nice. Feels like I'm in an old western with all the taxidermy and such. The wooden tables and the waiters dressed in cowboy gear gives a nice mood. It was really packed this evening- but the service was great. Everyone gets bread, a group salad, and then the main dishes come out about 15 min later. I went with the medium steak, but next time I will go medium rare. They cook it a bit just more- so if you are used to medium rare, tell them you want it on the rarer side. Anyways, great sides, and the portions are fair. Ribeye was $40, NY steak was mid 30s, and there are good combos and smaller sizes of sirloin. Sides include fries, potatoes (mashed or boiled), beans, rice, etc. They have other items on the menu, but stick with the steaks. Plenty of parking and easy to access off the Highway. A nice treat to have once in a blue moon. Enjoy!!
It is a treat to come back to Cattlemens. This is a revenge meal because we wanted to try their beef ribs and tumbleweed onion when we were at the Roseville location. We like coming to Cattlemens because the menu has something for everyone. It is unpretentious and we always felt welcomed. This location is busy and the wait times for both a table and entrees from the kitchen can take a while. Our server Elizabeth was great. She got us bread and salad right after we ordered. The tumbleweed onion $14 came with BBQ and ranch sauce. Very solid. The cowboy steak $40 still rein as my favorite. The flavor is complex and didn't even need steak sauce. The beef rib $32 came out as this mountain of meat. Wow. It was perfectly cooked with a good amount of BBQ sauce. We ended up taking 1/2 of it home as it was a lot. This is coming from someone that can do a 16oz prime rib with no sweat. Maybe it was because we had to wait a long time and got full off the bread and salad. Hopefully we can come back again soon. The food at Cattlemens is delicious.
My experience was exceptional. All staff was attentive and friendly. My 2lb sirloin AKA, "The Sheriff", was done to perfection. Enjoyed a half portion while dining and the rest at home. Both equally exquisite. Left a tip that was twice the requirement because I appreciated the service so much. Cattlemen's Dixon is nonpareil among other steakhouses. Ed
Excellent food, my t-bone was just right. Service was great, we had a group of nine, and our waitress was terrific.
The sourdough bread and salad were freaking amazing! THE best! We stopped here on the way to the airport, they were all very kind!
We went had the sheriff's steak and it was beyond great. Thx u for such a great experience.
First time here! Be prepared for rather large portions. I had the tri tip dipping sandwich 😏👌. It was kept company by perfectly fried fries. I also tried the loaded potato wedges, which were rather darn tasty. Service was quick and friendly. Definitely a place I'd like to visit again. Thumbs up for sure! 👍
Loud joint. And.... I've been eating here for years. The Sheriff is amazing and thr 2 for 65 is awesome for couples. I just don't like how everyone is loud but I've ate at all the ones in the bay area and Sac and best ny far for the buck.
Great food for reasonable price. Portions are good sized. Its a little loud, but still nice to eat at.
From the host stand to the check, we had amazing service and staff. Truly a great experience, I’ve only been here one other time. The atmosphere is really nice, and the food was amazing! I ordered a steak medium rare and it was a true medium rare steak. Our server Zach was tentative and polite. He really made our dinner experience pleasant and enjoyable. At the end of our meal, Ravyn approached our table before we left and had several kind things to say, including that in such a busy atmosphere she really enjoyed our company. Can’t wait for our next cattlemen’s dinner in Dixon.
Ordered to go but it was still great when we got home. Definitely recommend the beef ribs.
I love cattlemen's! I've been going here since I was a kid and I really think they've treated us like family every time. The food is always great especially the steaks, and I've never once had an issue with the service.
Phenomenal service by Kaden. Loved our lunch and we were so well taken care of. Food was delicious and venue is cozy ans inviting. Very energetic service team ans an establishment to be proud of.
The food was great one of the best steaks I’ve had in California I moved here in April our waitress was friendly and attentive everything came out in a timely manner will be back
Once again, this was excellent. Don't ever go to the Livermore!! Awful compared to Dixon. This is my Dad's favorite restaurant so we went for Father's Day. We actually love closer to the Cattlemans in Livermore but couldn't get a reservation, thank goodness! Dixon is only 15 minutes further away but the customer service is night and day. Livermore never has your table ready at your reservation time. They are always at least 20 minutes behind. And their staff are always hard to find. Even though Dixon was packed to the rafters, we got our table exactly at our reservation time and our waiter was awesome. If you are going to Cattlemans, go to Dixon.
Great rustic looking atmosphere. Good food. This pescatarian got fed well along side some real meat eaters!
Food was cooked very nice. Service was very attentive. Zale was an excellent waiter. Enter on south side for dinner or west side for bar because bar is quite darker than the dining room and my Mom had trouble walking. Great evening celebrating my brother’s retirement.
Our Waitress was, fast with the service, she was pleasant, knowledgeableand over all good at her job.
Edit 11/19/2025 for visit on 11/18/2025 Ummm, hello. Still the same - quality meat, service and atmosphere. Ok Cattlemens, I see you! Came back here for dinner after the man was fiending for some steak and potatoes. We checked out the happy hour menu (until 10PM Monday - Thursday) and nothing really appealed to him, so regular dinner it was. We were not disappointed! BRICK and MORTAR Can't miss it as it's right off the freeway. Plenty of parking to choose from, with an entrance at the Saloon and the main entrance on the east side. All entrances are accessible with a wheelchair. SERVICE Signed in at the front for a 35 minute wait to be seated. They'll ask you for your name and a good phonenumber they can text you on when the table is ready for your party. It did not take 35 minutes to be seated. I'd say within 10-15 minutes as I couldn't remember how many songs played while we were waiting. A few at most. We were seated by the hostess and then greeted with our waiter, Zack. He was attentive and personable. FOOD and DRANK Food was exceptional. We both got sirloin, medium with a bake potato. I ordered the smaller version and it was still very much a big portion for myself. Everything came in piping hot and ready to be devoured. I ordered the Cooler and man that was dangerously good. For dessert, which is what original made me want to cosign BF was the fried apple pie. Yoooooooooo ..... hella good! Will come back just for this stop playing!!! Will order that one again for sure. All in all, my experience this time around was exactly like past experiences - memorable, tasty and will come back for more. I haven't been to a Cattlemens in HELLA long. Super juiced about attending my son's Godfather's SURPRISE birthday dinner at this one located in Dixon, CA. Wasn't sure at first how they handle big parties, but what the heck .. the party came with its own menu for the birthday boy. The entrees listed on the menu were FAVES of Chino's, which I thought was super cool. Each guest(s) was able to have their own check, so we didn't have any troubles with paying the bill, when we were done. Super A+ .. not that many restaurants nowadays even split a bill 2 ways. Drinks were great here as well as the service. Can't wait to go back.
I ordered the Western Wings with tangy bbq sauce for starter and it was the nicest wings I have ever had, succulent with a crispy skin, covered in a sauce that complimented them perfectly for my taste. For main, I had a 14oz New York strip steak with shrimp. The steak was well seasoned, tender, succulent and full of flavour, I highly recommend. 10 out of 10 from me.
Let me just say I have never been to this place before. This was a new experience for me and I really enjoyed it. The food was delicious I have the Western cut of the prime rib and it was cooked perfectly medium-rare like I ordered they brought everything out on a hot plate and it was sizzling it was delicious. They served it with a little dish of Oz you and a little dish of shredded horseradish that was perfectly pungent and delicious fresh and perfect.
This has been the best experience ever. We decided to come for the first time to celebrate my fiance's promotion at work. He wanted steak and cattlemens sure delivered! I got the petite filet mignon and he got the rustler rib eye. They were cooked to perfection and oh my gosh the sage butter was perfect! We love the garlic fries and the beans were great. The bacon-wrapped shrimp were so good! My 5 year old got a medium rare 5oz steak with fries and my 3 year old got a burger with applesauce and they both loved them. My 5yo ate everything and a whole small sundae. Drinks were on point too. Shout out to Tristan and Elsie for providing excellent service. We will be returning. Our kids already declared that they want to go there for their birthday dinners!
Amazing all the time, great service even when they're slammed, which is like all the time. Steaks always high quality and perfectly done. Only thing I wish they had better chairs at some of their tables, half of them have arms and sides that squish us larger folk like sausage into them.
the food tasted great! I got the porcini mushroom ravioli. our server was really helpful and friendly. I think their name was ashley. we got there a little bit before our reservation time and there was no wait! the server brought the rest of our party to our table because we came in two groups. overall a good experience, thanks cattlemen's! :)
Today was our first time enjoying happy hour at the saloon in Cattleman’s in Dixon! The atmosphere is so cozy and comfortable! Prime rib tacos are the bomb!!!! Even more impressive was the service! ANGELINA is so nice, attentive and professional! She anticipated drink refills, clearing of plates and check out! We never had to look for her for assistance a single time! Absolutely amazing service! Thank you ANGELINA!!!!
This was one of those visits that could have gone either way—and thanks to one exceptional manager, it turned into a reason we’ll be coming back. We had dined here together before. I enjoyed it and have been back myself, but convincing my wife to give it another try wasn’t easy. When we came in the other night, I honestly worried this might be our last visit. Her New York steak was unfortunately over-charred, with the bitterness of the char overpowering the flavor of the steak. My prime rib, however, was excellent, and our sides were hot and flavorful, especially the baked potato and beans. Our server checked in and asked about the steak, and we were honest. A filet was brought out as a replacement, and while it was very tender, the char was again a bit heavier than she prefers. That’s when Mary, the manager, came over and introduced herself—and everything changed. She was warm, thoughtful, and genuinely cared about our experience. She and my wife immediately bonded over their shared love of Hawaiian pizza, which broke the ice and turned the evening around. Mary truly saved our night. She invited us back on Tuesday, sat and chatted with us, and personally helped plan our next meal—what to try and what we absolutely shouldn’t miss. She went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and taken care of. Because of her, we will be back—and very likely as regulars. Thank you, Mary. Job well done.
Finally made it here. Celebrated 12 year anniversary. I noted it on my reservation but cattlemans missed it. What a great atmosphere! Food was great. Service was excellent. Normally I take a picture of the food before I eat it. In this case the ribs were so good I took a picture of the bones! Killer ranch style beans that took me back to my childhood. Great overall experience! Will be back.
This is my first time at cattlemens restaurant, I haven't had this experience from long time ago, exelent service, excellent food, I'm so happy and definitely I will return, the artichoke cheese dip is a bomb! They cook the stakes exactly how it is, I order a Margarita to drink, it was really good too! 👍
We had an excellent experience here! The service was top-notch, and our waitress was attentive and friendly. As for the food, the steaks were incredibly tasty and cooked to perfection. We were there celebrating a birthday and were pleasantly surprised when they brought out a huge complimentary scoop of ice cream and a cute cowboy hat! They truly know how to make you feel celebrated. I highly recommend coming here for dinner, especially for a special occasion.
Hands-down, one of the best steakhouses you can go to. My wife and I were able to go eat at a reasonable price I think with drinks and dinner. It was just about $100 with the military discount that I got from being a veteran I think it was just a little above $90 if you wanna get in and out of there in a reasonable time go to the bar section and seat yourself.
Went with a large group, service was good, food was good. They made splitting checks super convenient and didn't fuss about it at all. The overall experience was good, I would definitely go back.
We absolutely loved our experience at Cattlemen’s! The steak was cooked perfectly and the service was impeccable! Our waitress Tara Olson was so lovely and made our dining experience that much better. 10/10 would come back!
Not only was the food amazing but the waitress was so kind and very awesome at her job. She never let our cups run dry.
Stopped in Cattlemens Dixon for dinner on our way home to Roseville from Napa (1/9/26). We were seated almost immediately and greeted by our server, Tyler. The food was very good only to be outdone by Tyler’s excellent care of making sure we were enjoying our meal. We’ve dined at Cattlemens at other locations and have never come away unhappy but our Dixon experience was the best of all the others.
Went with a big group (40 or so people). The set-up was well done with a buffet style for appetizers and plated meal service. The food was great and timed well for the entire group which is hard for such a large party. Highly recommend if you need to host a gathering.
I was taken out for dinner on New Year's Eve to your restaurant. It was my first time there and I loved every minute of it your restaurant reminded me of home I am from Montana I raised Longhorns. I really loved the atmosphere. We had an amazing server named Caitlin she was very attentive and delightful. She gave us excellent service. I have not had a good steak since I moved here a year ago and my steak was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. I will definitely be going there again and I will ask for Caitlin by name she is a definite asset to your establishment!
We frequent the Dixon location often. We went on New Years Eve with a reservation and everything was delicious! Our server Max was great! Great way to end the year with good food 😃
First time at a Cattlemen’s and I can say I was impressed. Our service was great and we were greeted with warm hospitality. The interior of the restaurant was nice but absolutely has a log cabin vibe. The food was really delicious with the onion strings and NY steak being the star of our experience.
Food is not what it used to be. We were pretty disappointed with the cuts we received. ***Update management reached out and asked us to try them again so we did. This time the food was excellent. Our server Max let us know he was new but he did a fantastic job. Will be returning again soon.
The food was very tasty. My wife and I both ordered the ribeye. While my steak was excellent hers had ribbons of thick fat and was on the rarer side of medium rare. The crispy calamari was excellent and the cocktail sauce the best we have had at a restaurant. Mashed potatoes, bread and salad where very well prepared and delicious.
Tara provided great service. We enjoyed our meal and it was fairly priced. We went on a late Sunday evening without a reservation and were able to sit promptly in the bar area. Thanks for the lovely meal, we look forward to visiting again soon.
Edit: waited a cpl months, and decided to give it another try. Went here 11.3 and it is back to Excellent! Tried their Salmon with Dill - very tasty - cooked perfectly - will definitely get it again next time. The Artichoke Dip appetizer was nice. Salad was great and fresh. And, their Carrot Cake was delicious as usual... Service was excellent as well. Glad I went back! Old review: Went here two weeks in a row and the servers are always on point. You never sit waiting long for anything. Excellent service! Soon after being seated, your ice water and bread are served right away. Food is always very flavorful. They offer all you can eat salad which is always fresh and has nice toppings and their dressings taste like they're made In House -+ Love their Bleu Cheese! Just good vibes all around at this chain for as long as I can remember. Oh, and one of the best Carrot Cakes I've ever had! Edit: 9.3.25 Seems this place has let me down twice in recent months so now it seems to be hit or miss. Once in the bar, the au jus was served cold amongst some other things that kept being forgotten by our waitress. And now this evening, the bread tasted like day old bread reheated. Steak was tough, beans were watery, baked potato was also very tough, and the salad just didn't have its fresh taste and the tomatoes tasted off. I even heard the gentleman sitting behind us tell the waitress his steak seemed smaller this time and her reply was "That's weird, they're normally sized daily ", then she walked off. So I feel they Re skimping and serving less quality lately. Just not in love with the food like previous times in the past. Service was just ok too last cpl times. Hopefully they get it together because this place has so much potential still... Sadly, I'll wait awhile to come back.
I got one star for atmosphere simply because the tables were pretty small and was not enough room for the food that we ordered. For a 2-person table we ordered two Mains and two appetizers. The food was great and the service was amazing, just wish there was more room at the tables.
Food is GREAT! Everything from the bread, to the salad to the entrees. The portions are huge and the prices are reasonable. The only thing I didn't care for was the beans. Other than that, the service was fantastic and I can't recommend this restaurant enough. I had the sirloin steak and it was perfect. I didn't need any sauce or anything. My BF had the beef ribs, and they were like Flintstones brontosaurus ribs. Huge. We had plenty to take home for leftovers and it made a fantastic dinner the next day. UPDATE: Unfortunately, the last couple of times we've gone, the service has really plundered. The food is still good and plentiful, but the servers have not been up to par. Disappointing to say the least.

I made reservations for Cattlemen’s two weeks before we arrived in Sacramento. We went straight to the restaurant from the airport, our stomachs rumbling in anticipation. We were relieved to have a reservation, because when we arrived, every seat was taken, and there was a line nearly out the door. A busy Thursday night I’d say after a short, our table was ready, and we sat down. Our server was extremely patient, courteous and knowledgeable about the menu and items, and suggested several items That we were thankful to have tried, like the potato skins. We also ordered a side of the cocktail shrimp, which was amazingly refreshing. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention how delicious the freshly baked bread was. It comes to your table in its own blanket of warmth with a wonderful side of whipped butter, and the two are a perfect combination. When it came time to order we kept it simple, a few filets and a mountain of broccoli, prime rib, and a juicy, no frills burger. The steaks were perfectly medium rare and seasoned to perfection. The prime rib was perfectly medium and way too much to enjoy in one sitting. Match that prime rib with a side of broccoli and it was an amazing meal. We decided to end our meal with a deep fried apple pie. It was like an a la mode slice of pie but in a wonderfully fried shell. The ice cream was savory and balanced out the rich cinnamon crust and decadent apple filling. That was definitely enough for the table to share, but if we had one more person with us we would have ordered two of these. Overall we enjoyed our meal at Cattlemen’s. It was bustling and full of patrons but the staff handled the traffic well and were extremely friendly and warm. We’ll definitely be back our next time up in the area.
If u have ever had the pleasure of dining at cattlemen pre covid you would know that the atmosphere Is lively and food is exquisite...then there was covid....and outside dining..we just went today (valentines day) it was cold the 2 heaters in the outside picnic feel dining were no match for mother nature..for me the beef ribs are the star of the ball, always on point tasty as hell and hugemongus...the cowboy rib eye cut was a disappointment, under seasoned and chewy for a 31 dollar premium cut. For a steak house it fell far from par. The artichoke dip was cold and the beans were cold. Salad was delicious even though they were all out of ranch. Over all staff was friendly and I guess they are trying their best but for 80 dollars I won't be back until we can dine in and all our food will be hot. On the up side my beer was cold to last drop. Don't go if the weather is cold or make sure to take a blanket
Tip: Make reservations!!!!! Pros: amazing food. great job cooks! We did not wait long for our food. For my KETO people, I would recommend the artichoke cheese dip and if getting an an entree with potatoes, substitute for grilled mushrooms. The leanest meat I believe is sirloin but I couldn't resist the fillet mignon. ("The chopper" also seems keto friendly but lots of protein) -1 star Cons: for this visit, we ended up having poor service by our waitress. She seemed very lethargic and provided very minimal effort to check in on us considering how much money we are spending on a plate. BUT.... We have had good waiters on different occasions. I would avoid coming in Saturday evenings. It seems the busiest.
It was okay, though filet side of porterhouse steak had a lot of fat running through it and steak was a bit too salty. Have had better other steak house chains.
I assume the service was so so because it was crowded and hard to find emoloyees in this climate. Usually the service is great but not on my last visit. Steak was cooked wrong then took forever to get it back. Little disappointed to say the least....much better visit and service was top notch for this visit. Portions are smaller but taste was great! Nov. 2023 - Great Service and food was top notch!!
4 stars because of the soggy fries and because we had to wait a while for our reservation but other than that, food was delicious and service was great. They kept our beverages full the whole time and food came out pretty quick. We had complimentary bread, the mozzarella moons (highly recommend), rib eye steaks, salad and the carrot cake. The steaks were cooked perfectly to our liking and I still can’t forget how good the carrot cake was. Bonus points for the added pistachios.
Easy on and off the freeway with covered parking. The prime rib is always fabulous, the kids meals were priced well and were tasty, and the shrimp and steak meal were cooked perfectly!! Another great dinner! The only drawback was that we had to eat out side on cheap plastic chairs that were too low for the table. For the price of our meal I expected better seating.
Cattlemens is always great. The food and service are top notch. The only draw back is it is always busy. Even with a reservation you likely have to wait on a table. Pro tip, if you have a small group, 4 or less, you can check the bar area which is open seating.
This is a great location to eat. You can see the signage coming in from San Francisco on the roadside and be able to exit before you reach the restaurant. The dinner entrees include refillable bread and salad. Don't solely focus on the single plate. The steak dinner for two was great. You get 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, and 1 dessert. Very good deal for the price. Did not try any special drinks because you came for the food. With my luck there were one, two, three?! cops sitting in the parking lot. Not wise to try because the location is a cul de sac. There's only one way out. The waitress was friendly. Able to answer all the questions and tell you the specials. Good old school service. We went on a week night so no wait and there are candies in the reception areas to chew on. The steaks were cooked correctly and medium rare was red and warm. Prime rib was great with lots of au jus. The special fried apple pie dessert sold out, that was disappointing. The cheese cake was pretty plain. The setting was Black Angus log cabin.
I'd give it a 4 out of 5 stars. We went there as a group because 3 of us have back to back birthdays and the BBQ was supposed to be on point. They only celebrated one of our bdays. The service was nice but there was some staff that ignored us when I tried to ask for water. When our server was in the area she was great. I had the lamb and it was tiny. Had I knew it was such a small serving compared to everything else I would had not ordered it. For the price it was not worth it. Tasted good but at that price I should had gotten the steak. I liked the atmosphere and I enjoyed my dinner there.
Very popular steakhouse chain with about 8 locations. The ribeye was correctly cooked as requested. It was excellent. All you can eat salad. Full bar menu - spirits wine beer. Typical steakhouse menu with sirloin ribeye ny strip tbone porterhouse filet mignon available. Also ribs. Excellent service.
Cattlemens Restaurant has many locations. But I like this one at Dixon better than the other locations I have visited. I like the dining room and the atmosphere here. The steaks and ribs seem to taste better here too! Lol The parking lot is huge. I don't have a problem getting a parking space. But the wait time for the table can be very long if you have not make a reservation. I have waited for almost an hour one time! So reservations are recommended!

Steaks always taste bland there. Father in law loves them though so I guess I’ll be back again.
Made reservations for 7 for daughters birthday. Great until our server went on break ..crickets ...nobody came back after we got our food. Finally came by said check..most our party had left .I mean it was hour half later...I mentioned well nice if we got the birthday we were here to celebrate..they brought the ice cream but like I stayed most had to leave. Dad best friend gone ..just me and daughter and 2 kids left to celebrate. They missed one appetizer but charged me for it ..had to wait to have it taken off...overall food good. Service NOT!
I ordered a French dip sandwich, to go. When I opened the container, the meat was mainly fat. (The photo shows the part I couldn't eat!) I tried to call the restaurant, nobody answered. I emailed them about my meal and nobody has responded. It was pouring rain that night, so I wasn't going back out! The baked beans were tasteless. The baby back ribs, the night before, we're good. The best part of the meals was the delicious bread.
A longtime steakhouse chain that is definitely showing its age. From its dated interior to its dated menu items, there’s nothing special that I would recommend. Poorly designed parking lot, a cumbersome and inefficient check-in process, and spotty service rounds out a very average experience.
We had the dinner for 2 for 73 dollars. It came with a salad and chilli beans. The salad was good. The chilli beans were okay not great. We had the artichoke and cheese dip it had no flavor even after I added salt. My husband and I both had the 140z ribeye and loaded mashed. Mashed potatoes had on flavor but both steaks were over seasoned. Customer service was very good. We also had the bacon wrapped shrimp it was cold
I have always loved this place. But, In the past two years, it has been hit and miss. The food has been mediocre. For the price they ask for a steak, It should come out as you requested. But, you could cook it better at home. The service staff has been mostly good. The atmosphere is loud and it makes it hard to hear. I think we will be looking elsewhere for special occasions.
I have had a bad togo order. Didn't complain. Second Togo order there totally screwed the streak temps. So I called and complained. Their manager Holly who was awesome helped me get reimbursed with a gift card. Ordered again. Very specific, made sure they knew it was because they screwed up last time. Steak way overcooked again smh suppose to be med rare
Cattleman's in Dixon is nowhere near what it used to be. We ordered a full rack of beef ribs, there were seven, they were very tough to chew and have very little meat on them except for one. Our waiter was new and I suggested that he should never serve iced tea without lemons, he explained that management told him not to serve them unless he was asked... It was nice that they gave us extra salad, as a portion sizes for beans, salad, and bread where is small in comparison to the past. We've had a great experience at the cattleman's on highway 50 on our way back from Tahoe. I can't recommend cattleman's in Dixon to anyone.
So I returned to this restaurant today, March 14, 25 between 6 and 7 pm, and it was not very pleasant. The chicken wings we ordered took about an hour to arrive at our table. Then we attempted to order food and waited 20 minutes until my husband sought out the manager. The waitress, arrived with a negative attitude. The ribs were somewhat cold when they were brought to the table. If you know you have a lot of customers then you need more staff members. We had some friends with us before ordering the food, but they never picked up the dirty dishes afterward
I got the alcoholic lemonade (I think cowboys lemonade or something along those lines) and it was awesome. Didn’t taste too alcoholic but wasn’t too sugary or syrupy. Very smooth. The actual food was super underwhelming. The worst part was my steak. I ordered a medium rare steak, at a steak house. I got an almost completely raw steak. At the very least rare. They should know how to cook steak at a steak house.
I only write reviews when service is exceptionally good or extremely bad. Unfortunately, this time it was the latter — which makes me genuinely sad because this used to be one of my favorite places to eat. 07/20/25 We arrived around 8:30 or 8:40 PM, and the hostess greeted us with a cold “Can I help you ?” — no hello, no warmth, just raised eyebrows. My husband and I looked at each other and immediately felt uneasy. In hindsight, we should have left right then. My husband asked for a table in the main dining area, but they insisted on seating us in the bar. When we requested the dining room again, they said the wait would be 45 minutes — which made no sense, as the restaurant was nearly empty. Clearly, they didn’t want to accommodate us, so we had to accept the bar seating. There, we were greeted by Jadelyn Y . She didn’t even say hi . She handed us the menus and asked, “Something to drink?” — without making eye contact or showing any friendliness. Throughout the evening, she seemed irritated and annoyed by our presence. Every time we asked for something, she didn’t respond — she would just walk away and bring it back. She barely checked in with us, avoided eye contact, and gave off the clear impression that she didn’t want to be there. We didn’t feel comfortable bringing up any issues with the food because we didn’t want to upset her more — that’s how tense it felt. Sadly, the food didn’t make up for the service. The fries were undercooked and cold, and the mashed potatoes — which I used to love — were bland super sweet and also served cold. It’s clear that the quality and care this place once had are no longer there. Everyone can have a bad day, but it’s not the customer’s fault . If you’re not feeling well or can’t be professional, it’s better to call in sick than to take it out on paying guests who are treating you with respect. What should’ve been a pleasant Sunday night dinner with my family turned into a really disappointing experience. No one deserves to be treated like that — especially when spending their hard-earned money.
Was disappointed my steak was good but got cold frys and asked for A1 and ketchup which she forgot tried to get her adention twice finally asked again foe A1 by the time she got back was almost done with my steak and got me new cold fries again plus harley any fry for the price not acceptable then at the end of my meal while paying she bought me hot fresh by then was done had a table full of fry hot and cold . Hard to believe that even at a expensive restaurant you still can't get hot food again very disappointed of service and portion size u have changed that I have seen threw the years ty won't be back for a long time.
Cattleman’s prices have gone up and the food quality and service down. I wish I had taken photos but I didn’t. I took a friend whom has never been to Cattlemen’s and that will probably be her first and last visit. It will definitely be my last. We ordered 3 steaks, one medium, and two medium well. The “medium” steak was medium rare and the two “medium well” steaks were rare, almost blue. Two of us decided to just take them home and cook them more ourselves and the 3rd (the person who had never been there) asked the waiter and he took it back to the kitchen (he didn’t inquire if ours were okay but he could clearly see them bleeding out on the plate). Her steak came back well done, burnt crispy. Mind you this was a Tuesday evening. They were not busy at all but we were there 2 hours because service was so slow. The daily special was never mentioned by our waiter. We had to ask. When asked about sides he offered things that were extra in price but didn’t tell us that (garlic fries at an extra $3 to be exact). The other thing was I was sitting in a booth but the back rest was broken. It was like sitting on a wooden roller coaster. I had to sit forward the whole time because they sat two people on the other side. I mentioned it to the waiter and showed him the seat was broken and he laughed it off.
Great service and location. Quality of food and cooking techniques are below any standards. They served a rubber piece of something called steak and overcooked rice that was almost a rice pudding. However the plain salad was excellent since it wasn't cooked. I would come back just for drinks since the ambiance and service were great! Constructive feedback: improve the quality of food or decrease the prices, fire all kitchen staff and be thankful to your floor staff because they balance the overall level of the restaurant.
My appetizers were cold, all my wife and I ordered was clam chowder and after everyone else in our party got there food, they said they were out of clam chowder. Was very disappointed 😞. The manager discounted the bill, but all in all it was a bad experience. Definitely won't be back.
I ordered dinner for my in-laws and had it delivered, but I was very disappointed with both the service and the food. The delivery driver had to return after the initial drop-off because they forgot half of the order. When my in-laws opened their meals, we were surprised and disappointed by the quality and what the meals consisted of. Unfortunately, this experience has made me hesitant to trust them again, especially spending over $100 for these items.
My sister and I came here in Cattlemens tonight, and we each ordered New York Steaks. I had mine with baked potato and my sister had baked sweet potato on the side. Our dinner started fresh baked sourdough bread with butter. Few minutes later the salad came. We noticed a piece of rotten lettuce so we put it aside. My sister's order came and few minutes after my steak with the baked potato missing, the server told me that it is on its way. After eating the salad, I started to eat the steak and it was bland and the meat was fibrous and dry. Kinda remind you of grilling frozen meat, because the meat texture was off. As I was almost done with my steaks, the baked potato made it on our table ( I guess better late than never...hahahaha). The taste of the food was bland, they did not season our food. Our server was awfully nice, but that was not we came for. Today's visit was a disappointment!
Yesterday I went to celebrate my daughter's birthday. It was the worst experience I had since we entered the restaurant. They looked at us very ugly. The waitress treated us badly. The food arrived cold. The worst thing was that at the same time there was a white family that was celebrating in the same way and they sang the mornings to her. We asked for them and they ignored us when we asked for a box for They threw it at us in the same way the bill never came to pick it up and when we took it to the main cashier she made us wait she arrived they ignored us it was so noticeable the racism since we were a Latin family that does not usually live so much those places and the preference so the white people who had our waitress was so obvious that we felt so bad
Our recent visit to Cattlemen’s was very disappointing. The service was polite and attentive, and the staff did their job well. Unfortunately, the food quality was far below what we expected from a restaurant that used to have a strong reputation. I ordered the Sheriff Steak, medium-well. It arrived burnt on the outside and extremely salty, far beyond what would be considered normal seasoning. Instead of medium-well, it was clearly overcooked, which made the steak dry and unpleasant. We were a group of five people, and unfortunately every meal at our table was overcooked, not just mine. That suggests the problem was likely coming from the kitchen rather than a single mistake. This dinner was supposed to be a birthday celebration, but it turned into a very disappointing experience. Spending $196+ for dinner would normally be acceptable at a steakhouse, but not for burnt and overly salty food. Cattlemen’s used to be a very good place to eat, but based on this experience, it seems something has changed in the kitchen. Sadly, we will not be returning.
We’ve been semi-regular customers for the past 3 years or so. I may have to swear this place off after tonight. I’ve had good and not so good steaks there in the past, but have had consistently pretty good experiences with the bar and happy hour menu (the prime rib tacos have been terrific). However, tonight may be the final straw. We were served an inedible prime rib, two terrible kids sirloins (one so tough we couldn’t cut it, the other we could cut but was tough enough that my kid almost choked to death on it) and a kids order of corn dogs that came about 20 minutes after the rest of the food arrived. Service is generally attentive, caring and super friendly, but this place is a zoo and the food is a craps shoot. While we enjoy the service and the atmosphere is fun, I will probably not be back.
Sat down 25 minutes ago, not one employee out of the 45 working right now have stopped to ask us what we would like to drink even though they are walking by us staring. Just a pity basket of bread. Apparently our server was taking a salad order 25 minutes ago and would be with us shortly. I would appreciate it when the host in the front would rather say the wait is 45-50 minutes to be realistic instead of leaving us unattended for 25 minutes. With this amount of staff l, there is no reason to have anyone waiting this long at the table.
