I have always liked Luby's - the quality of their food is consistently good and they always have the old favorites and something new to spark your interest! This was my first visit to this Luby's and I wasn't disappointed - had the tilapia and it was yummy indeed! Would have had dessert but my favorite wasn't there today, now I have a reason to go back soon! Family style, cafeteria restaurant, kid-friendly, and encourages lingering over coffee and dessert. What's not to like?!

Staff at the serving line were very professional and friendly, with a good selection of food, and when seated, the waiter was very attentive checked up on us on several occasions to make sure we had what we needed and to see if we needed anything else.

Let me start of by saying my company wanted to treat our employees for a Thanksgiving Lunch to be held at our location. First thought of course is Lubys. I contacted the manager and he said lets place the order, nevermind it was at the last minute and he did inform me usually it's 48 hours a head of time, but since it is such a small order he said let me see what I can do. Not only did the manager Mr. Flores and his team make it happen, but the food was delicious. Thank you Mr. Flores and your team on behalf of Greater Texas Credit Union..

I always go to the North Mcallen one. The servers there seem to know all the repeat customers. I mostly like the price the service. Never had a bad meal there.

Definitely an upgrade from the phaar location (saying alot as the pharr location is already good). I tried the chipotle cilantro chicken, with some spicy corn bread. Only complaint is NOT spicy enough. If they had actual spicy stuff with habanero or something it would be bussing.

Chicken fried chicken!!! Chicken fried chicken!!! Ok, I had to emphasize what to order. If you don’t get it, there are plenty of other delicious options but I highly recommend the CFC, with a side of broccoli and squash. Treat yourself with the cheesecake churro (O would rob a liquor store if I was rewarded with one of these). The wait staff are very friendly and courteous. Bring your family or your date. Great food!!!

Luby's Restaurant on 10th Street in McAllen is always one of our favorite places to dine. Food is always hot, delicious and we get excellent service. Servers are friendly and constantly checking if we need refills or anything. Restaurant and restrooms are kept clean.

One of the last remaining Lubys restaurants in the RGV to our knowledge. Every time we come, the service is top-notch, and the food is great. After all these years, it remains one of our favorites. Not a single negative thing to say.

My wife and love Luby’s in the valley. Our favorite meals are the enchiladas on Thursday, the liver and onions, the fried fish and all the great sides. The meals are Always consistently prepared. Luby’s is a landmark of days gone by!

This was somewhere my boyfriend was adamant on visiting as he used to live here. This is basically like a big cafeteria where you can order food. You pick and meat and then two sides with a bread. You can also add more, like fruit, pie, coleslaw, etc. The food was extremely good and filling. The larger plate, like the one I got, was around $12 which is very affordable. I ate with 3 other people and the total was $70 with drinks, a slice of pie, two coleslaw.

Super reliable. Excellent value. Attentive, courteous and helpful service. Congenial customers. It's Luby's. Try the seafood gumbo. And kudos to Luby's for being very accommodating to walker and wheelchair users. Maybe consider reopening a Luby's in Weslaco. It would be busy.

Luby's has awesome been a delicious cafeteria that I enjoy going to! The Luan platter is always perfect. The taste is amazing, and the amount of food they give is perfect enough to fit a hungry boy like me. I can tell you that much! Update: 7/5/24 Went again today for some chicken tenders. Food still good, atmosphere still great but service could have been better. Went again to take my parents and it's as good as before. Food was great my parents didn't complain. Service was excellent the waiter always checked up on us. And atmosphere was good it was packed but not full. 3-17-23 The food was good and service was great. Went for the meat loaf but they didn't have it's only a certain day. I had the chicken fried chicken and chicken tenders. Wish the had meat loaf everyday.

We ate on a busy Friday night at Luby’s and the food was delicious! We had liver and onions with sides, and baked chicken and sides. My chicken was very dry and way over cooked, but the staff corrected it and gave me another main dish (opted for liver and onions). Don’t judge me, if you have never had the liver and onions IT’S AMAZING! If you don’t like tripas or gizzards, you probably won’t like it. It was cooked to perfection! The cabbage, broccoli, fresh salad, dinner rolls, & mac and cheese were great too. We drank water to be “healthier”. For $22 it was an awesome meal (not including tip)!!

Service is great and it's economical to eat here. The dining room was at about 85% capacity but the staff had everything spic and span. My dining companion didn't like one of her sides and a waitress offered to get her another side for free. She also did me the favor of bringing me a to-go cup. Awesome!

It had been a while since I tried Luby's! I got to taste two different dishes: the Chicken Cordon Bleu and the Salmon. Both the chicken and the salmon were delicious! I crave it again just remembering the taste! The vegetables were pretty straightforward but cooked well. I don't know what sauce the salmon had that made it extra soft and flavorful!

My food was a tad cold, need to keep hot and ready food at 165 degrees.... to avoid batcteria! The staff was standing around talking about last night affairs. But when they saw the manager make rounds, they scattered like flires. Our waitres never came by to see if we needed anything! Need improvement on customer service from the serving people, cashiers and wait staff! I was surprised this was going on while restaurant was almost empty. More smiles to patrons would be great! Not the same as years past!

First time visiting this location, workers where nice and answer all questions about food, I liked the flavor but chicken was a little dry, will give it another try. Table service was very good.

Great place for a quick bite. We went with the hole family and they run out of on of the fish plates so they nicely old us we could wait at the table for the next batch that was going o take 10 on25 minutes and that they will bring it o the table and so they did. The food variety was great and the customer service from behalf of the staff was amazing. The food quality can be improved quite a bit but overall it was a good experience and the menu is quite extensive.

Great service. Today's dish not the best, I had the Lemon Pepper Fish, wow, talk about sour. Side dishes were great though, had a skillet fried cauliflower and of course you can never miss with Luby's mashed potatoes.

We don't have a Luby's in Wisconsin, but i would love one. It's a cross between a buffet and a fast food restaurant. Everything was clean and a very efficient operation. I would definitely go again!

Luby’s is a pretty good spot for a meal. Food is good, service is great & nothing is over spiced. Good selection of salad and food options and a casual atmosphere.

I walked up to grab a Tray for my selections, and all the trays were wet, I asked the lady across the salad selections if they a towel to wipe it dry, her reply was that they are all like that, she was the least interested in helping me and others in line to wipe the trays dry. I visit this location at least once and sometimes twice a month. And i always experience the same problem, the trays are always wet. You'd figure whoever cleans should at least wipe them dry. I visit the Lubys in Pharr, Southside location and never experience this.

Great options, staff is friendly. Food is cold sometimes and soda machines are gross.

Food is always great here. Hot and flavorful. But check your receipt, they charged me a full plate when I had a Luann special.

Been coming to this Luby’s for many years. Service was good and food was delicious. They also had a very good selection to choose from. The inside decor is a little dated but I think the customers prefer it that way. It is nice to know the food is consistent over the years that independent of the selections. I almost forgot to mention deserts are always super rich and delicious!

We went to Luby's on Violet and 10th for Thanksgiving. Wow what a line, I assume we were not the only ones who didn't want to copy today. Once we were in front of all the fare being offered, it was decision time. I came for Turkey but I always get the baked fish, or the delicious pork chop smothered in onions. But today I stuck to my Holiday choice and ordered the Turkey served over stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, instead of green beans I wanted the buttered cabbage. I added a side of fried okra and a corn bread muffin. Also, included with the meal is dessert, so my last decision came down to pumpkin pie or pecan pie. I opted for the pumpkin pie, even tho my southern side of me was begging for the pecan pie. My wife ordered the same, except she wanted the buttered corn, and she added a cranberry salad. My son had the chicken fried chicken with baked red skin potatoes, and a side of Mac and cheese. The service was great, our server took good care of us. She brought cranberries for our Turkey and refilled our drinks without us having to ask. I have always liked Luby's, especially for its comforting meals, and the number of selections available. You will definitely find what you are in the mood for here.

The only bad experience with our visit was with a employee her name Valeria, she didn't want to charge my mom the senior price just because my mom didn't let her know she was 70s....come on, an old lady with gray hair and you still need from her to let you know she is a senior? That was very rude. Try to be more nice and gentle with old people please. The rest of the service and food excellent as always.

$11.49 for a chicken fried steak meal. The portion size was horrible on my visit. I got about a small hamburger sized patty's worth of meat. I didn't order the smaller platter either. The flavor was good but worth $6.99 at best. No other Lubys location has disappointed like this location.

I visited this Luby's on N. 10th in Mc Allen. SORRY ! I was disappointed in the food quality. Cold and overdone, dry Liver. Corn bread was dry and cold too. Even though business was buzzing there. I was disappointed.

It's a hit or miss everytime. I wanted the baked white fish, they were out and replaced it with the almondie fish and it was dry and flavorless. If the prices go up, so should the quality of food.

This time I visited lubys it was not a great experience as before. The food was cold and I had to return it. While explaining it to the waitress she was kind of rude and I had to explain to her that her customer service was not satisfactory. After 10 minutes of discussion she finally went back to correct the orders. The atmosphere was mediocre as the place is old and send out of date. Of all the lubys in the RGV this was the worst experience next to the one in Harlingen TX.

Through the years I’ve known that Luby’s is most popular for senior citizens. Therefore I believe they should limit the salt and spices on the meat items. They should have more grilled selections. It should be more healthy and not be afraid of eating something with a lot of grease. Food overall is very SALTY. There is a lot of FRIED FOOD….

Wasn’t too impressed with the all you can eat buffet here at Luby’s, you can tell some of the food had been sitting for a while. The baked almondine wasn’t flaky it was a little hard when you cut it with a fork and the turkey was dry. I think the best thing I ate there was the cheesecake but probably won’t be back. I’ll just keep going to the one in Pharr.

Food is ok; it used to be better. Also the servers have attitude and long faces. Feels like they are forced to be there. They roll their eyes at you as well if you ask them questions about the food.

The food was very good but the servers were a bit nonexistent. She came to refill our drinks once & never came back. We had placed a order for extra fries & my husband had to get up & go get them instead. I'm assuming the server might have forgotten even though we reminded her that one time she refilled our drinks.

Thanks again for the military service discount. Variety of food choices. Dessert's good choices. Dining room tables and booths. Very busy with customers. Chocolate 🍰 cake dessert good. The food here isn't really great in my opinion,there are many options to choose from, and many sides also. I have tried the "bacon, cheese & steak" and their "Fried Fish" and both are just average, the food doesn't really amaze me, the steak was dry and not well seasoned, the Mac and cheese was very plain, the beans were tasteless, the mashed potatoes are okay, the bread is tasty but very small. Overall I would not recommend the lunch/dinner options here, I have asked before if they have meatloaf but they never seem to have it.

Paying the amount I paid was too much for the quality of the food. Food at Lubys used to be fresh and delicious. Now it's been dry and plain. Especially the desserts, my coconut creme pie was all mushy. Not coming again.

The baked chicken was dry. The macaroni was not cheesy, cold, and a miniscule amount. The fried fish must have been fried in a different oil since I got heartburn. The broccoli was not green, and the roll was as hard as a rock. Very disappointed with the orders 😕

I ordered pick up for the first time today through the Luby’s website and placing the order was a breeze, it was the to-go experience that was not good at all. I ordered green bean casserole and two tartar sauces for 2 meals and a coke. When I arrived exactly when I was supposed to pick it up, I noticed my food and drink had been sitting out, for how long idk. No one was there to greet people in line for several minutes. And I didn’t even know where the line started and ended, so I just walked up to one end of the line and guessed correctly. About 15 minutes of waiting and my food sitting out they finally were ready for me to collect it. But I asked them to fill my drink again since I didn’t want watered down coke. By that time I was frustrated that I waited long and because when I asked how long my food and drink had been sitting out, they didn’t know. So I had them refill my drink and I took my food, assuming everything was right. Well instead of green bean casserole, they gave me plain green beans and on top of that, no tartar sauce for my order (so I had to take some of my boyfriend’s tartar sauce) and on top of that, they got me the wrong soda. Never ordering online again.

The roast beef was cold. The waitress was very courteous. I was not aware veterans get a discount. When I asked the cashier for it, she stated I should have told her before she rang up my order. So I didn't get the discount. You would think it would be a matter of just canceling the transaction and ringing it up again with the discount. Thank you for your disservice Lubys.

The 5 star ratings on here are from years ago. Barely any current ones. Thanksgiving plate was horrendous. The turkey was cold, very little stuffing and they forgot my cornbread...this coupled with bad service from the to go mgr.... Just go ahead, ruin Thanksgiving. I ate a better Thanksgiving meal at Salvation Army . No pride whatsoever. You all decided to open for Thanksgiving, well, do it with pride and great service.

Came today on Wednesday the worst food. No variety management just says we cannot make it. Spaghetti all dry nasty dark brown sauce on it. So gross. Then plates all dirty and a chicken tender falls and they put it back on food tray. Bad attitude on employees! Left and will not be back unless something changes went and drove to Pharr instead.

One star. They always forget to add gravy during to go orders!!! Such simple requests and always forget!
