I'M NOT MUCH INTO ALCOHOL but it was a special occasion; I was in The Valley for my 50th CUHS Class Reunion, so I WENT FOR IT AT LUNCH THE NEXT DAY! Had a great time. Very busy here. I imagine it has been this way since day one. As the Imperial Valley is a decade or more behind in corporate restaurants. You had to go out of town to go to any. This is a welcome addition.

Came with friends to grub and the service was immaculate! Reyes and Eric went above and beyond with their service! Best service ive ever received at a restaurant! food was great as well! will be coming back thanks to Eric and Reyes!

Very good food and wide array of menu offerings. Wednesday's are "30% 0ff for Seniors", excluding alcohol of course. I recently had the bacon mac n' cheese off of the specials menu and it was excellent, could not finish my meal and had to take my leftovers home .. Poor me ! LOL

My husband and I have attended this location on several occasions and the service is always excellent. The waiters and staff are extremely friendly no matter if you're just going in for appetizers and drinks or a full meal. If I could give it 10 stars I would! The food is always extremely well prepared and delicious. Depending on how busy it is there might be a delay but we went in on Mother's Day and I have to say that our waiter didn't miss a beat. She was awesome! As long as everything remains the same we will continue being your loyal customers.

I know I should probably try some of the other dishes on the menu, but the Won Ton Tacos are my go-to. I just have to have them. Can't stop, won't stop. I always experience great service, and the restaurant was clean and inviting. Plenty of parking.

They have new staff and the service was soooooo much better today. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, our drinks were brought quickly, the waitress checked in on us often. We go there often for the kids Tuesday special and it was the 1st time the waitresses were so attentive.

Food was great. But getting Military/Veterans discount should be easier... Also substitutions are not cheap when they should be just that, "Substitutions".. instead there are add on fees which are ridiculous.

My lunch experience was almost perfect until I found BBQ sauce on my turkey sandwich. Maybe next time I'll read the menu. Awesome service at the bar! WiFi didn't work.

Nice atmosphere with that classic Applebee's feeling. Friendly and attentive staff. Great selections on menu while music will make you move in your seat (at least for me), and margaritas are delicious.

Have gone multiple times and it is mostly an enjoyable time there. The staff members are attentive and in this hot area they always have a.c. on. Only down side is that sometimes on the outside it smells like sewers (which is totally not their fault). But the smell can mess with the appetite.

Nice quieter than most food good as always as was the service, well except our waiter must have been new he didn't clear away any dirty plates. It got a little crowded.

Good food reliable service. It’s a standard Applebees. Had to wait a bit but it was Friday and not excessive. Everything was good. I’ve never had any issues with this location.

The food was good but the drinks are watered down. Ordered a Bacardi Pale and you can't even taste the Bacardi. Also for that price u should be able to keep the little bucket. I can make those drinks at home and they will taste way better.

Didn't smell very good inside. Menu we're not clean... Food is what you expect from a chain like this one good but not more. Service was kind and fast even though we ask the drinks without ice and go plenty of it in our drinks. Hard to kill habits I guess ;)

Service was and has been good little longer when busy but to be expected. The food is good, in my opinion it used to be Way better and more flavorful especially the steaks but I always get the spinach artichoke dip and that seems to be 100% consistent and good. Last few times I've gone haven't cooked the steak how I asked but more well done instead of medium and I'm having to add a1 or something as it doesn't have much of any flavor. Service was very friendly and helpful I just would them to focus on the food a little more. Thanks though it was a great visit!

Long wait to get seated, and a long wait to get table service. Seemed understaffed. Food was fine, and service was fine once our waiter got to us.

Whole new staff (from what I recall), way better food, serving speed was top notch, prices are still a bit higher than they should be, but the difference is night and day. Will definitely return. Great, commendable improvements. Old review left for contrast. Old review:Horrible place. The wait to be seated, on a day that wasn't busy, was about 30-40 minutes. This seemed excessive since the place was nearly empty. Another 20inutes later, the waitress took our order. 1½-2 hours later, yes hours, the food comes out...luke warm. We can be forgiving people, but this was too much. We flag down the waitress after waiting for any staff to show up nearby for 10-15 minutes. The waitress takes another 10 minutes to get out ticket, hands it to us and leaves. There's no one available to take our money or to even talk to. We literally could have walked out without paying. After the hostess shows up, she takes our payment, which was grossly over priced food for the serving size and quality, and we can finally leave. All in all we lost 3½ hours of our lives. The one thing we gained, was knowledge that this place is not worth coming back to ever again. This was the nail in the coffin as before this visit, there had been two prior visits where they double charged the meal and one visit where they charged for every topping on the baked potato... separately...

The food is good. The servers are usually very nice. Bartenders are usually talkative and friendly. Everything about this place, food, location, price, staff is great. The only thing a little off is, there is a weird smell. It only hits you when you walk in and after a couple of minutes you don't even notice it. Everything else makes it worth it though.

The folks were really nice,they had really good custermer service,want to give the food a 4 star rating,but there was just to meany cold dishes for me.The place is tricky to get into.I would eat there again im a fan of apple bees.

On August 20 at 6:15 we went to eat there and they gave us very bad attention, my son and I sat at a table and they got us up and moved us to another and told us not there. (I use a crutch to walk and I'm 60 years old), we asked for more napkins and they never brought them, just as we asked for more lemonade and they didn't bring it to us either. I WILL NOT RETURN

Our server was nice but because he was running the drinks and serving tables our food didn't come out the way it was supposed to. We got our food 1st then our salads because we asked about them. I think the bartender was being over worked but did do the best he could under the circumstances.

This location has had its ups and downs. Misleading website says happy hour till 6, but you go there and it ends at 5. Scam and excuses is all you get. Food is just ok.

The Applebee's located in Southern California would make the restaurant chain proud. The staff is courteous and work hard b to provide a clean environment while making sure everyone is satisfied with their dining experience.

Only reason i go is convenience. Bar is always messy, theres a smell in there that never goes away and food is mediocre.

Applebee’s is Applebee’s…. The food is the same in each and every one . It’s partially prepared before it’s ordered but is t wary. I had the blackened salmon and was surprised at how good it was. The mashed potatoes were ok…. Should have ordered the loaded ones. The regular ones are too smooth and Overly whipped / processed for me . My sister had the bourbon bacon burger and said it was delicious. Wait staff friendly with a lovely smile and attitude . Lots on menu to choose from

One word: GREASY!!! And we got up-sold for extra stuff on the mash and steak (extra $9!) that just made it all even extra greasy! While I applaud workers’ upselling skills, I think doing so without saying “for an extra $__” Is just criminal. When you eat healthy and then experience something like these American chains you really feel SICK afterwards. One more thing, servers should really know when checking in is too much. Ours just got too annoying.

Food was okay, but sorry to say that the service not so good. I think it's because they need to get organized and different sections. This way they are not all going around trying to take care of everybody's table but not really, they keep people waiting for their drinks and food for a long period of time. It irritates the customers to have to sit there and wait 10-15 minutes for drinks.

The food wasn't bad and the staff was welcoming. The place just had a few too many flies in the restaurant. I hate fighting bugs. One landed in my husband's mashed potatoes as soon as it was served. The staff was on it and very helpful but the bugs are a big turn off!

The majority of the time my family and I have a great experience. However a couple of people need to work on customer service skills and professionalism. Only a couple of times was our order wrong or disappointed by the food. It still remains in our top 4 favorite spots to grub or just grab a drink.

We had a great service👍🏻. I ordered the 4 cheese macaroni with 3 tiny honey spicy tender chicken. The cheese sauce was to liquid with no flavor. I also had a michelada. The beer was flat, and the rim of the cup had black pepper, giving it a weird taste.

The menu has multiple items to choose from. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and the quality was alright but nothing special. Service was standard and the burger arrived as ordered and in a reasonable amount of time. The entry area of this business has an slight odor which needs to be fixed. On each visit the odor is still there.

This restaurant doesn't allow you to order from kids menu. I explained i had bariatric surgery. The server suggested i order a half order of chicken. She didn't mention it was still full price for half the proof. The manager adjusted the bill. I still feel they need to allow ordering off the kid menu.

No matter how many times I try to change my BFs opinon on Applebee's they always find a way to disappoint. Every now and then he agrees to go to Applebee's, because of course I love it and he doesn't, yesterday was that night. We ordered two medium well steaks and received two well done dry steaks not to mention they brought and took our food 3 times before they actually got it right! So disappointing!

Unfortunately this was the second time around giving Applebees a chance to redeem themselves, but I was once again disappointed. The first to go order we placed was 2 orders of the whiskey bacon burgers with fries. The first mistake they made was they failed to put crispy onions on it and secondly it was so dry it was barely edible. Luckily we ordered the whisky sauce on the side because the flavor of it had an odd taste that was just not worth adding another inedible component to an already bad burger. Lastly, the fries were soggy and cold. Experience #2 My kids and I were hungry after a long day at the hospital so I figured I'd order in. Ok, so I place an order off of the 2 for $20 item menu. Well first off they forgot the breadstick, the steak was overcooked, the Mac n cheese bland and not cheesy, the garlicky mashed potatoes were like a blob of flour paste, the boneless wings were dry, the baked potato was nothing special. So out of everything thing placed in this order that was decent were the shrimp, green beans and slaw. Thats pretty sad. Management needs to improve the quality control of the orders going out and cooks need to be taught on cooking temperatures so that you get what you expect.

What happened to Applebees??? Had to ask for dinnerware, steak was well done and tough when I asked for "medium at the most", appetizers came before plates or forks. Best part was the beer. Prices too high for what we got. The Pub pretzels are simply breadsticks. Ugh

Dry and overcooked steak, I asked for medium and my steak was grey. Chicken Alfredo had 4 broccoli and 6 pieces of dry bland chicken? Is that normal...my silverware was very sticky as well but I had a great server...

Our waitress Aranza Z. Wasn’t very attentive at all. No smile no greeting nothing. We only received 1 check up to see if the food was alright & my husband had to ask for the ticket…. The chicken was over cooked and dry just a non exciting experience for my first time at this Applebee’s in the Valley.. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED

The wait times are ridiculous sometimes. But I've been there when there were lots of open tables and booths, but the host was nowhere to be found. I waited for 10 minutes then just left. This has happened twice. I'm about to give up on this restaurant.

Very cold and weird atmosphere...also found mozzarella cheese inside the breading of the fried boneless wings, a lot of flies, my rice was cold and dry but our server was friendly.

We went to Apple Bees for lunch at the food was very salty and the dishes our meal was served on were dirty. The plates looked like they were possibly just quickly rinsed and food was plated. We could literally use our finger nail to scrape the leftover food of the outside and rim of the plate yuk!

Not worth its pricey menu. I ordered fish and chip and there was so much of oil that i can hardly taste fish. dough was not properly cooked. my second over was lime chicken which was decent but not good enough for such price. overall very disappointed.

Gave this location a second chance and was equally disappointed. This store is lacking in staff and kitchen training. My previous visit I ordered a featured item, fajitas combo plates. Both contained the wrong meats and only served to cover what seemed to be a whole onion. The second time I didn't think I could go wrong with the riblets. Wrong again! Overcooked and slightly burnt. If management doesn't take control, they won't be around very long.

Service was great, but they need to learn that appatizer's and main coarse don't come at the same time. Wife and I ordered steaks rare,came to us first time medium, second time raw. This has happened to us before,will not be back.

Friendly service, good food, clean,... But very slow.. Appetizer took over 45 minutes. Salad never showed up. And the staff didn't seem to care. They asked if I would like to take the salad to-go since they still wanted to give it to me after I ate.

Only one waitress was available for about ten tables plus she was tending the bar took a long time to be greeted ended up sitting ourselves and still no one would come by to bring the menu wife had to get up and go look for the menus. After order was taken took for ever and it gets better we get our plates but no napkins or forks and knifes to cut our ribs. Very pricy for what you get served and they offer sides with out telling you there's an extra charge for that particular side they make you think that it's part of your plate. The salads are very expensive $13.00 dollars for a salad that barely feeds one. Not satisfied at all won't be going back any more. Paid $55 dollars for 2 and still end up hungry not good. We ended up getting a Costco hot dog and drink for $1.50 and that really hit the spot.

Waited 20 mins for someone to take my order, table was dirty and extremely sticky. Table of 4 and we didn't get our food for about close to an hour. My food was warm and not hot. My son's food was hot, my husband's and daughters too... So I was disappointed. I didn't have any utensils to cut my steak (fork or knife). The waitress was another thing... I'm not happy and this experience was not good. I'm picking a different place to eat.

Update...I came here again after some time the service was terrible and food was far from par this time. I am very disappointed and will not be coming back here again. Got the 2 for $35 deal, the 2 for deals are the best choice in my opinion. Food was good and service was great. The Christmas decorations added a nice touch to the atmosphere. No complaints.

Waitress was terrible. Food was burnt but cold and took me asking 3 times to get my drink. I very rarely don't leave a tip even with poor service but this was so bad I think I should've been given money.

Called ahead of time was informed of no wait time. Got there to a 15 min wait time then moved to 30 then 45 finally got seated to have a waitress who was not consistent. Bad bad time overall . Only stayed cause people I was with wanted to.

Waited 40 mintues for order to be delivered and it was someone else's order. Now we are waiting again 40 mintues and no order yet.

They were being very dismissive about the situation and would not let us find a different solution I’ve been coming for years and I’m not sure I would recommend or if I would be coming back to this location I hope to hear a response from them

Horrible customer service! This place has staff who give the restaurant a horrible reputation. The El Centro location is filled with rude incompetent staff and it's been several times we've had a bad experience at this location. This locations staff are a joke! I definitely don't recommend it and don't even try complaining to the managers as they won't do crap about this since it keeps happening.

This place is horrible. The last time I went was on my birthday 2015. That time my friends and I went to celebrate my birthday, I never got my food and I just ordered a Cesar salad. I also didn't get my drink the manager said I could have a free dinner for two but i never went back because of the horrible service well I tried to give it a second chance today and we sat at our table for 15 min with no drinks everyone around us looked like they weren't happy not being served. After just sitting there hungry we decided to leave. worst service!!!

Took 4 tries to receive clean silverware!!! Sat in the bar to watch the NBA playoff games, but the bar tender never put the game on. The TV showed six screens in one which you couldn't see. Another waitress dropped our food off at our table, but no follow up from the waiter. No refills. The worst experience I have ever had at a Applebee's. Drive on, don't waste your time stopping at this location. Extremely disappointing.

I waited for about 10 minutes to be seated, no one greeted us or acknowledged us. I saw the manager walking around but yet we just stood there waiting. We were the second family to leave. I understand it might be busy this was tonight at 7 pm. But at least acknowledge the customers

This Applebee's was not a good experience. Server struggled, got orders incorrect, food was very sub par and either over done or cold. Slow service for a mostly empty restaurant.

Don't get me wrong waiters and management are good but the cooks are something else I asked for a well done steak instead I get a blood steak I return it because I have a sensitive stomach and the waiter nice says I'm sorry for that I'll have the cook fix it when he brings it back it's a completely burnt steak I return it of course waiter says sorry non stop I ask to speak to the manager I decline to get anymore food I don't want that cook cooking anything else for me. The waiter was great the manager was alright of course trying to excuse the incident as there being something wrong with grill I said that was not an excuse in that case they should have told me the full wasn't working and to order something else I feel very disappointed since it is one of my favorite restaurants. He insist on giving me free wings witch I gave to homeless man. We left and I'm sure knowing I was never going back.

Only gets one star because the appetizer (artichoke dip) was quickly delivered and was delicious. Meals were delivered at different times and portions are smaller than you'd expect (I expected something like a black angus plate and I ended up with a McDonald's dollar menu item). Waitress was not attentive and made mistakes on the receipt (causing us to have to wait longer than we had to). Steak was not done medium-rare, like ordered but well-done. 'Free-WiFi' didn't even connect. All in all a terrible place to eat, with terrible service and food. You're better off going to the McDonalds or Sonic nearby. Rib-let's seem to be just pieces of the back of the pig or waste meat. Onion soup was not very good as it was lukewarm causing the cheese to seem fake. Bread was soggy. Fish also barely had flavor. TLDR: Terrible food and service. Take your grumbling stomach somewhere else.

Last week I went by around 9:20 in the morning. I was greeted outside in a charge by Carlos Cerda, said Acting Manager for the El Centro restaurant. I was told in a scolding manner that the place was not open. I simply then proceeded to ask him for a plastic clear cup of tap water and was denied. When asked for reason being. He responded by stating that the facility was not equipped with any water for the facility. I was perplexed for a minute, but then realized I was being denied service. After all it was a business day and not a legal holiday or observation. I didn’t feel like I was in my neighborhood. That slogan should be revised.

Honestly this is the worst place to go to. I have gone to bad restaurants but at leats there service was very amazing that it made for there food, but this AppleBs was the worst place ever. Such a horrible service by our waiter. He started talking loud to us and satarted saying and I quote here "Thats what you guys ordered so" and it was not just one plate he messed up on but all 4 plates and still said waoow cant believe whats going on. I do understand that people make mistakes, Im not perfect myself but theres a difference in how you approach your customers and how you speak to them. I know this because my wife is a server and she tells me hiw she handles situations with customers and what todo. I just hope that place gets a little more training in how to approach and speak to customers. I felt very embarrassed because we had taken a friend for her Birthday and honestly it was a total mess. So I would think about going to this place. There is Sonics and Jack in the Box next to them so that might be a better choice.

The service was horrible, we actually had to hunt for servers. The only good thing about out dinning experience was Albert, the shift manager. He went out of his way to make sure our food and drinks were out in a timely manner. After he left, no one even care to attend to us. As for our take-out order, it took 1-1 1/2 hours to get it and only after getting up to look for a server. We asked the host which told us she had no idea how long. I’m very tolerant and understand delays in service but this situation had no excuse.

Service is always slow. Takes about 10 min to be greeted by the server and get drinks and food takes too long to be ready, once you finally get it it isn't even hot just warm. Servers/management don't even acknowledge you unless you get their attention to either ask for your assigned server/drinks/food. This happens every time we go, yet we always give it another try. Thinking of not going anymore because of the overall bad service.

We were visiting from out of town on Memorial Day. Applebee's was one of the few places open. OMG walked in and it smelled dirty. Went into the ladies restroom and was appalled!! It was filthy!! Looked like the toilets had not been cleaned in months. Trashcan and walls dirty. Had it not been for several friends coming I would have left. I can only imagine the kitchen...

Won't go back ! Took forever to get our drinks!! At least 15 minutes!! After telling three different servers! Ordered the grilled chicken Caesar salad! Expecting the chicken to be at least warm ! Was very cold! Person in charge tried to be Accommodating !! But it was just too late!

Went for happy hour, waited for 20 minutes for waiter to get water. Then two other tables left because the server was super slow then was given a bill that was from the previous table. Never recieved a movie ticket, charged 14 percent gratuity after receiving right bill and not once did the waiter refill drinks. The place had maybe 10 tables to be waited on. Don't go here the service sucks!

Ordered Babyback Ribs- they were big beef ribs, no meat on them. Won't be back there!!

Idk what has happened to Applebee's. I had not gone in sooo long and had a few friends tell me they go for drinks and its a "vibe". It was late evening. Empty. We walked in and the host told us it was a 15 min wait. Then saw us looking around at the empty restaurant and he said yea I know it looks empty...but its 1 server and all this section is closed....and that's closed..and that's closed.....and the bartender can't tend to you because shes doing to go orders....after 15min we were seated...the server took another 10min to come take drinks. Another 10min to bring them, brought the wrong drink to me, she went to redo it herself since the bartender was busy. Came back...almost spilled her tray of drinks on us...took our order...forgot the wings...never came to check in ..food was another 45min...spinach dip cold...chips stale...we had asked for extra plates....another 10min....it was a nightmare. There was about 3 other ppl in the restaurant at this point all at the bar...they looked very sad and drunk and honestly at one point I just really took in the whole look of the environment..it was depressing..sad...smelled like dirty mop water...I TO THIS DAY DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT THE VIBE IS PPL COME HERE FOR BECAUSE THIS WAS NOT IT. I REMEMBER whyy I had not been back in so long. Nooo thank you.

So I went to Applebees not my first choice since its rep is as bad as it is, I mean look at the reviews if you don’t believe me. More than half say the service was terrible, but back to me. Genuinely the worst service ever, and they’ve forgotten my order at a different restaurant before, because how is it possible I waited 45 minutes for a damn dessert?? I know I shouldn’t be spoiled and expect it in 5 but 45 minutes for a chocolate cake I could’ve got at jack still leaves me in shock. Like did they milk the cows? Did they harvest the wheat? I genuinely would like to know because it’s a question I have till this day. We reminded the staff three times and they still took their time so Applebees, I won’t be going back.

Service was terrible, server brought the wrong drink (and okay that happens) but he forgot to bring the correct one and when he finally brings it (only because I asked him for it in passing because he didn’t check on us) he drops it off annoyed and leaves so quickly. The hostess brings us to-go silverware saying they ran out of silverware (keep in mind we are 1 of 4 families in the restaurant when we got there) and yet the next 3 parties to get there get regular silverware (so like, what?). The (food) wings were dry looked like they left them under the heater light until our food was ready because it all came out at the same time and the four cheese Mac and chicken tasted like water down Alfredo and also looked and tasted like it was under the heating lamp forever. My kids cheeseburgers were actually good at least they didn’t mess with their food. But overall just a terrible experience, which was disappointing because I USED to love going there, but this time I felt profiled and unwelcome, even trying to get my check, so I can leave proved to be a task for our server who once again I had to flag down and once he finally got it we were waiting so long for him to come get my card to pay because once again he just dropped off the ticket and ran. My family finally got up went to the car to wait, while I waited for him to close out our check. Beyond disappointed and I must admit that for the first time ever I didn’t tip, which I always do, feels taboo but I couldn’t justify tipping such a bad experience.

Arrived March 5, 2024, 12:00 PM. Very few people in restaurant, should have been a sign to go some place else! We were seated right away and server was very good. We ordered our meal and waited about 25 minutes before it came to our table. Yes it was lunch time, but there was only 5 other couples and 2 of those came in after we were seated. So, I ordered a chicken sandwich with fries. Fries were barely warm and the sandwich was soggy…. The huge amount of chopped lettuce was still wet when I took the sandwich apart. The breaded deep fried chicken was tender and hot. I pulled it out of the soggy bun and ate it along with a couple fries. My wife’s Cesar salad was chopped in small pieces and was still wet. Cesar Dressing had too much vinegar in it for our tasting. Server replaced it with blue cheese. As we were waiting for server to come back to table so we could ask for the bill, a helper came by and collected our plates and silverware. We asked him for the bill. Server showed up several minutes later with the bill and dropped it on the table and left. My advise is to find a different restaurant.

TL;DR If your significant other wants to come here convince them to go somewhere else unless you want to be disappointed and out $50 for a meal worse then McDonalds in quality. I dont know where to start... the slow service on a slow night, waiting until the second coming of jesus to get another drink, the waiter blatantly seeing that your drink is empty but walking straight by with out the courtesy of asking for a refill; the list goes on and on. My lady and I have came to this one in El Centro multiple times and every time we come I get more and more disappointed by the experience. They seem to never get better and in a way, a little worse. Every time my lady convinces me to go to this horrible place It always takes over 10min to get a simple well drink like a jack and coke or something of the sort, doesn't matter if you're at the bar or at a table the service is still horrible. On this occasion of coming the food was the worst I've ever had. My girls pasta was microwaved and the chicken was rubbery and the brunch burger I got had cold fries and vegetables that smelled like they recovered them from the dumpster. In closing I'd like to say this place never gets better, just go some where different. Hell, taco bell would have been a better choice.
