The oysters, shrimp monterrey and wedge, for me! My husband's filet-mignon was epic. Lisa at the bar is the best. Her attention to detail is really impressive. Also, she clearly take pride in Pelicans, like she's an owner/invester. The broiled garlic cloves w/ the bread and the house-made blue-cheese-dressing, are some of the little things that set this restaurant apart from others. It's been a consistent classic for years. Tonight though, we enjoyed the best service Pelicans has ever offered.
Pelican's saved the day from and horrible evening at Texas Chophouse. Your staff found a table for us and got our food out to us in a timely manner. Our meals were Delicious. We had 2 Monday Night Specials and a steak and shrimp, with drinks that were going down like you would expect them to. Thank you very much!
We had an excellent experience at Pelican’s Steak & Seafood. The food was outstanding, with a great selection of steaks and seafood, all cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. The service was attentive and friendly without being intrusive, which made the experience even better. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming, ideal for both a relaxed dinner and a special occasion. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality steak and seafood restaurant.
This place is phenomenal. My first time here sam was our server she is top notch absolutely one of the best overall dining experiences I've had in El paso. This is definitely a do again!!!!
Pelican’s is one of our consistently excellent dining experiences here in the Sun City. Their service and food are simply brilliant. Our server, Amanda, provided the most impeccable and timely service which added to the holistic quality of these delicious experiences. We appreciate you, your team, and your logistical supply chains and all the people that make your food possible. Thank you very much!!
Really enjoyed last night's dinner. Our waitress was exceptional and polite to my children. The food was prepared well. My family appreciated the atmosphere and overall experience.
Had a really nice time there. My waitress (short hair, white) was really nice with us, she brought a cheesecake since it was my birthday, also she made good suggestions on the menu and was checking on us constantly. This was my second time there and it didn’t disappointed me. We ordered the tuna salad, IT’S SO GOOD, and we also had shrimps with bacon and a side of Mac and cheese.
Good was excellent, topless oysters were fresh and delicious, their signature prime rib did not disappoint but was a bit heavy on the fat. Pina coladas were very good. Server was attentive but made us feel rushed, she'd rush off quickly leaving us having to call her back for refills or anything else we needed. Overall everything was delicious.
Dining at Pellicans is a memorable experience. From the very first bite, you can tell the seasoning has that special touch—rich, authentic, and reminiscent of true Mexican home cooking. Every dish is prepared with care, and the flavors are perfectly balanced. The service is equally impressive: friendly, attentive staff who make you feel genuinely welcome. And the desserts? Absolutely delicious—the perfect sweet finish to an already great meal. In short, Pellicans shines in every way: food, service, and atmosphere. A must-visit for anyone looking for a flavorful and satisfying dining experience.
Not bad at all. I went with my family on a Tuesday evening. The place was thriving, but not full. The first thing that hit me was the lighting, it was quite dark, which is something I do not like in a restaurant. Ok, anyways. Food. There's a nice menu that's not that big, but with plenty of options. I got the charred ribeye and it was very good. I asked for a medium and they nailed it. It was flavorful and tender. My wife had pasta with calamari, shrimp and something else I can't remember, and it was good, although a bit over seasoned in my humble opinion. Service was pretty good and I have no complaints. She was attentive and kind. The prices were as expected, not that expensive, not cheap. I believe the value was just right. You get what you pay for. As I said at the beginning, the one thing I didn't like was the cavernous atmosphere. Oddly enough the most lighted space was the bar area, while the rest of the tables were dimly lit. One of the pictures I attached was taken with the flashlight because of how dark it was. All in all, I'd go back.
Pelicans has been by far one of my favorite restaurants in El Paso since I was young. It makes me nostalgic because it was my mom's and continues to be my dad's favorite as well. They have always had delicious food and outstanding service. I recently went with friends to celebrate my birthday and had a wonderful time. My salmon was cooked to perfection, as usual, and our server even went out of his way, bringing us a delicious cheese cake (my favorite) with strawberries and a candle singing happy birthday to me. I truly appreciated this. Thank you, Pelicans, for an incredible experience!
My family and I had been wanting to go to Pelicans for awhile. I had never been before so I did not know what to expect. I love seafood and all I wanted for my birthday was a good seafood dinner. My family and I decided to celebrate at Pelicans. We drove almost 20 minutes to arrive at this oasis in the middle of the Chihuahuan desert. It was a Monday night, semi busy, and they willingly and cheerfully accommodated our party of 12. We did make reservations the day before. Our waitress, Carla, was outstanding. She had a great attitude, attended us often and did her best to make sure we had an enjoyable time. I started off with a Pelicans Mezcal Margarita which gave me an enjoyable buzz through out the evening. For appetizers I tried the calamari and mussels. Both were great. The butter of the mussels increased the flavor and experience. The appetizers were finished down to the shell. For the main entree I had the Cold Water Lobster Tail with garlic mashed potatoes and a bowl of New England clam chowder. The New England clam chowder was perfect. Very rich, creamy and full of flavor. I added some roasted garlic that comes with the complimentary bread to the clam chowder for some extra garlic flavor. That's just because I like garlic. The garlic mashed potatoes were great. I usually eat my mashed potatoes with gravy but these potatoes did not need gravy. Last but not least, the Lobster Tail. It's not easy to make a perfect Lobster tail, especially since it's a delicacy. I would say that Pelicans did a perfect job. The Lobster was cooked just right. It was very tender, delicious, had that slight sweetness you'd hope for, and the side of lemon and butter just increased the experience. You really don't need the butter or lemon, but I like the added flavor. Even the rice under the Lobster was great. It soaked up the butter and dripping flavors while eating the Lobster. The rice made a great addition to the plate. By the time we were all done eating, everyone's plates were cleaned, and everyone was full and happy! Thank you Pelican's for an enjoyable birthday dinner. We will be back for more!
My wife spotted this restaurant over 6 months ago. Having a big family delayed us ever visiting. Fast forward to the day of our wedding anniversary, being the procrastinator that I am, I have to come up with something. I set up a reservation with Google assist for 7 pm at 1 pm. Reservation went flawless, even with us showing up 30 minutes early. They accommodated us immediately. I mentioned to the gentleman that greeted us, behind my wife's back, that it was our anniversary (who we assume is the owner later during our dinner.) Once we were seated, we received prompt service. Every question we had, our waiter had an answer to. Absolute service professional. Having tried multiple places, we have yet to find a place that could do calamari "right." This establishment hit a grand slam with their calamari. The stuffed mushrooms are the only thing we could remotely have a complaint about, but at no fault to the restaurant. Since my wife has an allergy to most seafood, she was unable to eat the stuffed mushrooms due to some kind of seafood that was included (or so we think.) Our fault for not asking, and no biggie. I downed them easily. We were a little puzzled with the salads that were served, but after seeing salads served to a table next to us, we realized that we must have ordered the wrong type of salad. Again, our fault, and we ate our salads with a smile. The steaks were on point and cooked to a perfect medium-rare. Lobster is, by nature, a tougher seafood item, but this establishment did not overcook it. If you like jumbo shrimp, then you will love this place. The wine was excellent, and that's coming from a couple that just returned from living in Italy for 3 years. Now that our meal is over, I mention to our server that we needed to go (cause I had other plans set up,) and he informed me that we still had desert coming, complimentary due to it being our anniversary. Cheesecake for each of us. I said thank you and to only serve one instead of two. There was also a mariachi band playing. Now this will not be a routine outing for us, because it is a bit pricey, but I believe it was worth every penny and would love to go back. This is currently our top on occasion location. We were amazed to see this restaurant packed, on a Wednesday, with a bit more of a pricy menu. We knew we were in for a great dining experience, and this place did not disappoint.
We were celebrating the New Year at Pelican’s. I read a ton of reviews so we would have a good idea of what we wanted to order. We were torn between the fillet mignon and the crusted ribeye. Based on the server’s recommendation we chose the ribeye. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. We ordered medium and it was definitely well done. No pink center. But the real disappointment was all of the fat in the meat. And it wasn’t tender. So it was not as expected. We also ordered the fish and chips. So good as always. We will keep eating there, as we have for years, but not order the ribeye again.
Great atmosphere and great service. The food is usually really good. I think it was our menu choices that didn’t pair well overall. But we’ve been here before and the food is always great.
Stop wondering what to order, let me make a recommendation to you, their signature Charred Rib Eye, period. Its a 16oz rib eye rubbed and grilled with Pelican's secret sweet and spicy sauce, and served with grilled spring onion. Rather than some type of sauce, it's in fact a combination of various types of spices, which perfectly goes with rib eye, totally brings the essence of beef out. Go for it 😁
Went on 2/21. Noticed that the fries on the Fish/Chips plate are not too plentiful anymore. Garden Salad plate getting smaller. Iceberg wedge with bacon/Bluecheese around $8+. House Margarita around $15. This is getting ridiculous. Wanted to go for my birthday next month. Don't thinks so. Too bad.
The wife and I went there recently. The food quality wasn't really on point with the pricing. The staff was kind, and the atmosphere was nice. If you're looking for top notch seafood, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.
Service was very aloof and despondent; someone at the bar had to complain to the bartender to have our server check on us, it got so bad. And no one even asked them to do that. So, by definition, objectively below average service experience. Food was rich, but lacking any robustness or depth I was expecting for this rating. A really great mushroom appetizer was the lone exception. I don't know if I will return or not.
We ate there on a Sunday, late afternoon. Our young blonde server was rushed, and short in her answers. We eat there bi-weekly and I always order the same thing. THIS time she said a side baked potato was only offered at a charge. That was a first. French fries with fine meats and sandwiches is Burger King and we're not paying those prices! She never offered bread and butter claiming she forgot. She never refilled the teas and to make matters worse, our steaks were well done NOT medium. In addition, there was a pea size hard object in our bread, a bit like a bone. Luckily, we caught it before chipping a molar. In all, this is the second time in the last 3 months our dining has been bad. We don't know what the problem is? Maybe new management and new cooks, but we hope you fix it soon. We'll return then!
Went for my bday dinner last night and the food was amazing, however the service was terrible. We were sat in a corner and a party that was sat after us in the same section was attended to first while we waited almost 30 minutes to get our waters and appetizer order in. Our server was not the same server the other party had. She seemed bothered to attend us and answer our questions. My dad is hard of hearing and she was speaking very low so when he had questions about the menu (first timers) she would respond with attitude because she had to repeat herself. We asked for to go boxes she came back with one and then never came back with the rest, after waiting 15 mins we had to ask another server for a box. We wanted to order dessert and asked a different server for the dessert menu. It took her another 20 mins for her to come check on us. At that point it was 10:15 we cancelled on dessert. She honestly deserved zero tip, i wish it would have gone to the other servers around that were actually helpful. Very disappointed
