We recently had our wedding at The Eldred Preserve, and it was truly the best day of our lives. We couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out. From the very beginning, Curtis and Matt were incredible—warm, accommodating, and completely on top of every detail. Their care and professionalism made the entire planning process seamless. We toured several local venues, but nothing compared to The Eldred. The setting is stunning, the property is spotless, and every staff member we interacted with was wonderful. We were able to take so many beautiful photos in a variety of locations around the property — everywhere you turn is a perfect backdrop. Our hotel room was beautiful, and the food was outstanding. We were even able to customize our menu, and it turned out exactly the way we envisioned. We planned our small wedding (25 people) in just about two months, and thanks to Curtis and Matt, it was stress‑free. Our guests were blown away by the venue and couldn’t stop talking about how delicious the food was. We truly had an amazing day. If you’re looking for a picture‑perfect wedding and a team of people who genuinely care about making it unforgettable, look no further than The Eldred Preserve.
If you are looking for a getaway that perfectly balances serenity and activity, the Eldred Preserve is it. The grounds are impeccably kept, offering peaceful nooks for quiet reflection alongside a stunning lakeside trail for a scenic hike. The service was the definition of "above and beyond." Curtis and his incredible team made our entire party feel like VIPs, ensuring that every need was met before we even had to ask. I was also thoroughly impressed by the dining experience. It is clear the management took past feedback to heart, as the food quality has reached a whole new level. This is a true destination for anyone seeking a polished, high-end retreat
Such a pretty and serene place to spend a weekend out of the city. Highly recommend the hike to the Sunrise lake especially during Fall.
This is a very pretty place to take a walk around Sunrise Lake. There is a chipped road all the way around so its very comfortable walking ...mostly flat. I think it was like 2 miles around...not far. A bit of elevation to begin but nothing steep. On the far side of the lake there is a fitness trail and a small brook waterfall. As you loop around closer to the end note the great stone table which is a perfect picnic spot. We planned for lunch at The Homestead but it wasnt open.
Our second time staying at the Bradstan Hotel and dining at the Homestead. The property is absolutely amazing, both inside and outside. We walked the trail up to Sunrise Lake, it was beautiful. The service at the hotel and the restaurant is also exceptional, but I wish we could stream on the TV, for example, Netflix, YouTube, etc. We also enjoyed the food and the bar.
Amazing Atmosphere and Excellent Dining Experience at The Homestead Restaurant - Highly Recommend Eldred Preserve
We had an absolutely fantastic stay at The Eldred Preserve! If you’re searching for the perfect staycation spot, this is it. The Bradstan Boutique Hotel was nothing short of stunning—luxurious, cozy, and designed to make you feel right at home. It’s honestly such a nice touch having heated floors in the bathroom. The food at The Homestead? Simply unforgettable! Every bite was delicious from start to finish and the service was superb, making our dining experience truly special. For an extra touch of relaxation, reach out to the front desk before your stay and book an in-room couples massage with Diane and Carrie. Their massages were phenomenal—easily one of the best we’ve ever had! It’s also a perfect birthday surprise or treat to make your stay even more memorable. We can’t recommend The Eldred Preserve enough! Book your stay—you’ll love it as much as we did!
While it may be a bit of a drive in the Catskills , IT IS WELL WORTH IT ! From start to finish your swept away with the beautiful grounds, serene feelings and feeling special! Their restaurant The Homestead is superb upscale dining done right! With a well trained staff you can not go wrong. A very special wine list and on point cocktails to start with, your pallet is driven to new heights. Their unique take on dishes will keep you coming back for more, weather it's a bite at the bar or the full menu experience. It is something to remember!
Our second trip for dinner. 1st time was for our anniversary last year and last night we celebrated my wife's parents being together for 50 years. The food is incredible and there's not enough room to describe the wonderful variety. I had the trout mousse appetizer again bc it was so good the 1st time and it was amazing last night. Our 20 year old, picky daughter tried it and ended up eating most of it. Our server Kacy was fantastic and indicative of the service we've received. We will be back
Amazing place! Well worth the drive. The property is incredibly well done and the staff and restaurants are 5+star . But the best part is the peace. It's hard to explain Currently one of the best spots in the region to stay
Fantastic experience for this past Thanksgiving dinner. Fantastic food, excellent service, beautiful atmosphere.
We didn't stay at the hotel, we only went to eat at the restaurant for my husband's birthday. We sat outside, it was beautiful and peaceful. The staff was incredibly friendly and professional, and the food was delicious. We dealt with a number of staff during our visit, due to the occasion, and everyone was so genuinely pleasant and courteous. They went out of their way to make sure our visit was an exceptional experience. Our first time at Eldred was incredible and we are looking forward to going back again!
My friends and I went out for some holiday celebratory drinks and apps. We had heard amazing things about this place and they were all true. Big shoutout to Melissa who was our server last night! She was so attentive and wonderful; made our very first experience there fantastic. The chef that evening was amazing as well. The food was to die for. Highly highly recommend this place. 5 stars all the way.
Stunning facility - inside and landscaping. Wonderful dinner and staff!
Accommodations were excellent. This was our second time there staying in a Junior Suite. We visit the Catskills every year and were thrilled when The Bradstan opened. Wonderful breakfast as well, everything made in house. We’d like to give a shout out to our housekeeper, Martin, for keeping our room clean and well stocked. The restaurant (Homestead) was very good, great steaks and duck. Excited to go back next summer when the pool is open.
My wife and I were looking for a place where we could just disconnect for a while. We just wanted somewhere that we can drive to and just relax. About 2 1/2 away we stumbled on The Eldred Preserve and the Bradstsn Boutique Hotel. We were absolutely blown away with this property. Our cabin was perfect and the staff was amazing. Our breakfasts were made special by Louba who was aware that my wife had a gluten free sensitivity. She went high and above to please her. The Restaurant was beautiful with amazing views of the preserve All I can say is if your looking for a place away from the hustle and bustle this is the place. Look no further. 20 minutes from the historic Woodstock site this is nestled in the middle of a beautifully maintained Preserve. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could. We have stayed in some beautiful places. This stacks up with the best of them.
Just returned from my overnight at The Bradstan @ The Eldred Preserve ...what a terrific place! Rooms are exquisite and the decor is outstanding and comfortable ...and truly lend themselves to the tasteful landscape- both manicured and wild! Staff are both courteous and friendly ...but also extremely knowledgeable !! The breakfast was so delicious with so many choices ....and was totally delish! It was an overall great experience....kudos to The Eldred Preserve for making my stay so pleasurable! I Highly recommend. ...you won't be disappointed!!
Dinner was amazing! If you like a black and blue filet this is where you can get it and it's amazing! Service was great!
The is the absolute best place to stay in Sullivan County. We did not have one complaint about our stay. The rooms are cozy, clean, and beautifully decorated. The property is stunning with an amazing trail around the lake. The staff is friendly and very accommodating, especially Albrusha who went out of her way to help us book the perfect room for us. Will definitely be staying here again!
The Eldred Preserve is a beautiful location. I have attended private events as well as dinners here on my own part. I have always been impressed with the cleanliness and the great attitudes of staff. The dining room is a grand location while the grounds are expansive. I have seen the hotel rooms which are beautiful but I have not stayed here yet. Good team in Scott, Katie and Irvin.
This past Thursday, August 25,2022 we visited Eldred for the first time in 25 years. What a pleasant surprise! The place was completely redone, the grounds are beautiful and elegant. We had dinner at the Homestead restaurant: delicious and beautifully prepared. The best part was our waitress Jackie, a warm and wonderful young lady who made us welcome with a great smile on her face. The whole thing was a great experience especially because Eldred is a big part of many pleasant memories from the past. ❤️👍
Went on 10/8/23 for dinner and a comedy show featuring Tom Cotter. Dinner was delicious, staff was friendly and helpful and the Cabaret venue was pleasantly intimate. We had a wonderful evening and are looking forward to the next time.
This was our first time here for dinner. We were impressed with the whole experience. The building and grounds were beautiful. In the restaurant, the service and food were perfect. We will make it a point to return, especially when it is warm enough to sit outside.
We had such a pleasant stay at this beautiful resort. We love being able to stroll around the lake, it’s truly one of our favorite parts of staying here. Having an on-site restaurant is wonderful, the happy hour is great, and the breakfast is absolutely amazing. The staff is always so kind and welcoming. While there was a small mix-up with our room at check-in, the way the team handled it really stood out. They were genuinely apologetic, showed true integrity and care. We appreciate how quickly everything was resolved and how comfortable they made us for the rest of our stay.
What a spectacular place on so many levels! Our “cabin” was as luxurious as one can get with high end everything including heated floors, jacuzzi tub, gas fireplace, and a wall of glass overlooking the snow covered woods. The breakfast included was amazingly delicious and diverse with the 2 lovely kitchen staff going above and beyond to offer me gluten free options such as a decadent chocolate brownie, muffins and French toast. Dinner at their Homestead restaurant was a treat also. To top it all off, the acres of grounds were beautiful to behold. My husband and I snowshoed around their lake which was peaceful and fun. They provided the snowshoes. This weekend vacation at the Eldred Preserve was possibly our best weekend getaway ever! And we have had many! Bravo and well done to everyone there!
We had our wedding at the Eldred Preserve in October 2025 and it was truly the best day ever! Matt & Curtis are the dream team and made sure our day was perfect. They went above and beyond to make our vision come to life. They were very responsive to all of our emails and were always willing to hop on a call to discuss the details as we were planning. One thing we were worried about was the space in the reception room because we had a 10 piece band and we were at the higher end of the guest count. Matt was able to create multiple floor plan options for us to review and the space set up was perfect. The food was honestly some of the best wedding food we have ever had. The Eldred Preserve grounds are stunning and the hotel is gorgeous. My guests could not believe how beautiful the place was. There is a big lake in the back where we were chauffeured around in a golf cart to take some of our wedding photos. Our guests also enjoyed the lake where they could kayak, walk around the paths, paddle boat and more. The breakfast in the morning is also delicious. Irvin, who runs the hotel, was amazing and worked with us to make sure all of our guests were able to get rooms. The Eldred Preserve is a one stop shop for a wedding and has everything you could possibly imagine to complete your wedding day. We also had our rehearsal dinner/welcome party the night before at the Pergola which is also one of their many nice event spaces. The pergola is outdoors, but has heaters. We were very comfortable on a chilly October night under the pergola. There is also a fire pit nearby that my guests very much enjoyed during our welcome party. Overall, I could not imagine a more perfect venue for our special day.
Amazing place. You couldn't ask for a more scenic place set in nature for you to have a wedding venue. From the babbling brook to the surrounding ponds its amazing here. The food was great and the staff so nice. Everything feels nice and up to date. Not like some of the usual out dated wedding halls.
The food was amazing and staff was very friendly. The service was great and the place is beautiful. I’ve been there numerous times before and plan on going back. I would highly recommend to anyone to go and eat there.
Bradstan Resort and Eldred Preserve were fabulous, as was the Homestead Restaurant. My "criticism" is that they should also serve lunch and that the restaurant should be open all 7 days of the week. Hotel guests should not have to leave the grounds. A lot of the area restaurants also closed mid-week, and the surrounding area is not so great, in my opinion.
My husband and I held our wedding here about a week ago. Curtis, Matt, and their entire team made the evening so much more than we expected it could be with only the 2 weeks planning time we provided them. We were very stressed until our first meeting with them where they assured us they had everything handled, and they truly did. The food was delicious, their communication with us leading up to and during the event was amazing, and their whole team made sure we had everything we needed throughout our dinner. They helped make our day perfect and we are so grateful that they were able to pull everything together for us!
Three of us had dinner and drinks in their lounge. The atmosphere is beautiful. Chairs are very comfortable and our waiter was wonderful. We had wine and margaritas. We ordered a hamburger, sliders and egg rolls. Kevin, our waiter was attentive and friendly. We will definitely be going back. I highly recommend trying it out. I wish I had taken a picture because the view is breathtaking.
Amazi g...the food ...the place...the staff...can i steal the chef! Ha! Loved everything! Kisses n hugs to all for how happy this dining experience was!
Gorgeous establishment and beautiful grounds. Definitely has a lot of wow factor on the look. Excellent service with a beautiful bar. The live piano is a fantastic touch. I wish I could have had my wedding here! Lovely menu. Giving it 4 stars as we felt dishes were a bit under seasoned but they were otherwise beautifully cooked. I’ve now had the duck, the farm to table trout, the tuna steak, sliders, clam dip or something similar, fries, and fantastic coconut shrimp. Will be back a third time and more because there’s nothing like it in the area for a romantic and beautiful night out.
We didn't stay here but walked around. It's very tranquil. We went back for dinner. We were lucky to have a 5:30 reservation. The Catskill is not a good place for GPS. So, don't need to drive in the dark when the GPS is dicey. We had soup of the day special, which was carrot puree with lemon, California chicken & mandarin duck. The duck was extremely dry. Surprisingly enough there's still a great amount of fat on the skin. I like the chicken better. We also had fruit crisp a la mode, which was great. It prompted us to get the peach blueberry pie from the Callicoon Farmer's market.
We did not stay at the hotel but ate dinner at The Homestead. The grounds were very well maintained and very lovely. The restaurant was well appointed and a pleasure. Overall, the food was tasty. Now for actual critique. The place is not cheap. I ordered a NY strip. The meat came unadorned on the plate with a couple of slices of cucumber relish. Super plain. Since you eat with your eyes first, the dish is super simple and unappealing. I ordered a baked potatoe. $9 for a luke warm potatoe. Really?! The sautéed mushrooms and caramelized onions were very tasty. Also, $9. My wife ordered a halibut. Small portion and again unappealing. The service was very slow, although the place was fairly empty. Disappointing for the location and pricing. I would only recommend it with proper warning. I'm not likely going back. The owner came over. Nice guy and gave us a little history. Interesting.
Had dinner at the homestead restaurant. MARCIA was a great waitress. Very attentive. The food was delicious, well prepared, tasty and fresh. The chef came out to see how we were doing! The pastry chef made a delicious cake for my birthday. The grounds are beautiful and we had a double rainbow appear to make the evening perfect!
Food is always delicious and service is usually incredible. However last night we Called for reservations, and when we arrived we were informed only the lounge is open due to the winter hours. However we weren’t advised of that on the phone. We sat in the lounge and didn’t receive service for over 20 minutes even though there were only two other tables taken. However once we were served the wine was great and the food was delicious. I believe last night was a mishap as they seemed to be short staff and confused but I highly recommend the Eldred preserve to everyone!
This restaurant is struggling to find it's footing. Menu is solid, delicious and rationally priced. Not cheap but plenty of value there. Once they work out the kinks promises to be a good one. Seeks to recreate Old Homestead of yore with a selection of prime beef. Should be sampled. August 2021 update: rating raised to 4 stars to reflect my perceived shortcomings of the Google star rankings. This is a beautiful place and should be visited if in the area.
I absolutely love this hotel and restaurant. We have been here three times now and I have yet to be disappointed. This weekend we celebrated our five year wedding anniversary and the staff did a wonderful job setting up our room with all kind of goodies. The only thing that is a negative in my eyes is the price. We just can't afford to stay in the hotel. The rooms are $500 a night sometimes more...that just doesn't work for us, especially during the winter the rooms are still $400+. That is a shame because we would definitely stay more often if the prices were lower . I not really sure why the cost is so high but it is what it is. Eldred thank you ...maybe we will stay again in another year or so.
The grounds are beautiful. The hotel is immaculate. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable. The food is fair. The staff at the hotel is friendly.
We did not stay here, just ate at the restaurant. We had the shrimp & scallop stuffed mushrooms which made a nice start to the brook trout & pork chop. Disturbingly, no effort was made to debone the trout & the menu makes no mention of it. This aside, we enjoyed the meal paired with a nice Argentinian Malbec & finished with the gingerbread cake. If you're in the area, worth a stop for a pleasant meal.
Went for Easter lunch today at the Homestead Restaurant. Had high expectations. The place is beautiful and love, love, love their cinnamon bread. But my hopes for a place we could return to again and again were dashed. The good news first: The Homestead Restaurant is beautifully designed and decorated. We were seated by the windows where we were able to enjoy the lovely landscaping, stream and pond. The service was professional and friendly. The bread was every bit as delicious as I had expected - soft, warm, sweet. Then the disappointment began. I ordered prime rib (medium rare) and my husband ordered the mushroom ravioli with salmon. My steak was bloody and so fatty it was hard to slice. I asked them to cook it a little more which they did. Not sure what they did but the steak returned in a watery pool of liquid. It also lacked flavor and a rich beefy taste. The mashed potatoes would have been so much better with some salt and garlic. The carrots that accompanied the steak were undercooked to the point of being raw. My husband's salmon was overdone and dry. The mushroom ravioli was very salty and smothered with a green herb sauce that obscured the flavor of the mushrooms. Very disappointing indeed. At least the double decaf expresso we ordered at the end was good.
We’ve always enjoyed dining at the Eldred Preserve, which is why I chose to book Thanksgiving dinner there for our family. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. The food was generally okay but lacked anything special. The French onion soup had almost no onions, and while the other appetizers were acceptable, the entrées varied widely. My salmon and a guest’s pork loins were both good and fairly portioned. However, the potato gnocchi was extremely small—closer to an appetizer than a dinner—and came with no vegetables or sides. It was also not very good, which was especially disappointing since it was the only vegetarian entrée available. The turkey dinners were plentiful and moist, though the stuffing missed the mark. Desserts were the weak point. The carrot cake appeared store-bought with frosting added, and the apple and pumpkin pies were mediocre. We also weren’t offered coffee with dessert and had to ask; it arrived well after we had started eating. Considering the cost—more than $100 per person once tax, drinks, and tip were included—the experience simply didn’t match the price. We’ll likely return for a regular dinner someday, but I won’t book another holiday meal at the Preserve and will look for alternatives instead.
Restaurant was lovely and perfect for my husband’s birthday date on 12/29. Unfortunately then it was not. It started with the first impression of the hostess - she needed a bit of sleep or such because she looked very tired and not quite put together. Even at 6am as a retail merchandiser I work on looking professional but in a casual way in case one has to meet with shoppers later on in the morning. I made a reservation for 12:30pm and she did not bother to look it and instead just put us in a corner seating area. I requested a window but you didn’t even bother to check - what was the point if you don’t honor the request. We are not from the immediate area and read about the Eldred Reserve highly recommended for dining. My Monte Cristo sat too long and got soggy when brought to table. Pomegranate gin fizz was probably the best thing I had overall. We want to try this again in the future say early or late summer of 2026 and hope that it goes better with additional staff or something.
My husband and I got married at the Eldred Preserve in October of 2024. While we had a gorgeous day at a seemingly beautiful venue there were some glaring negatives that can not go unnoticed. For starters, throughout the entire wedding planning process management gave us very inconsistent information. For example as we got closer to the day of the wedding, we were told by management we would be able to have access to the event room the day before the wedding so we could set up. We even set a time for us to come in that morning. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Scott Samuelson who was extremely rude to us for showing up to the event room the day before to set up. As the day went on, Scott made many ill-mannered comments to myself and my family. As we were putting out some table centerpieces for our rehearsal dinner, I asked if it would be possible to move some seating around to make room for 2 more family members. My dad offered a suggestion of where to seat said family members and was told "and where to you think the table and chairs will come from? Do you have them out in your car?" To which I replied, "I understand this is a big ask it would just be really nice if we could have the extra family members join us tonight after traveling so far for our wedding." The response I got was "You have told me that already, ask me again and see if my answer changes." I would also like to add that we had to have some guests show up the morning of the wedding to set up for the ceremony because Scott would not allow us to set up the night before because we "didn't pay for the additional day" even though we were told previously by other members of management we would be able to do so. Being in the hospitality business there is a way to communicate with customers, and Scott clearly does not possess that ability. Another hiccup worth stating is that while on our initial tour we were told from Katie that the bride and groom got a "complimentary stay" the night of the wedding and was never informed of having to purchase additional nights to qualify for said stay. The contract states "signature suite room for bride and groom on wedding night with a 2 night stay" when the contract should have stated "...on wedding night with PURCHASE of 2 night stay". When Katie reached out asking what additional nights we wanted to stay, there was no discussion on pricing or payment (which was then incorrectly reserved, and needed to be cleared up the day of the wedding). While trying to resolve the incorrect reservation information that required us to pull up a previous email conversation to prove that they reserved the wrong dates, Katie commented that there was a lot of miscommunication from my husband and I. I could go on and on but my intention is not to sit here and slander a business with a negative review, but to give you a heads up of what you are getting yourself into when you book with The Eldred Preserve. If you do decide to use this venue, make sure to tip wait staff and bartenders directly, as we were informed by staff themselves that they personally believed the tips were not being distributed amongst them for prior events. Besides management, the staff (event staff & hotel staff) we came across was very professional, personable and willing to help.
I called to place a to go order tonight. I ordered Calamari, Steak Fritas, a Cesear Salad and what should’ve been 2 French Onion Soups. I placed my order and was told “we will call you when it’s ready”. Thankfully I live close, but that is not normal or practical at all. If I lived 20 minutes away my food would sit for 20 minutes+? I was called that my order was ready after an hour. Okay it’s New Years Eve. I walked in for my order and was met with multiple people who just went to get another person to help me. I was brought two bags and handed a bill, that did not have a breakdown of the prices or items at all. I was just told it was $93.96 and my card was taken. I got home and found out instead of 2 soups, I received two orders of onion rings. ALL of my food was cold as well as it being wrong. Okay, sometimes it hard to hear on the phone. But how long did my food sit that it was ICE cold when I got it home? Ridiculous amount of money for subpar food and over the top inconvenient customer service.
This is a review of the restaurant only. We did not stay at the hotel. The entire venue is beautiful. It's a shame we were served one of the worst meals I have ever (not) eaten. I write not because the entrees were literally inedible. Cold, tasteless, sloppiness. Even factoring in that any place can have an "off night", the experience we had here cannot be excused. Add in high prices and the prevailing vibe that they were somehow doing us a favor by allowing us to be there puts the Eldred at the top of my "avoid" list.
Never again. Worst experience here yet. The food and service were so bad. (Honestly the last 3xs were sub par also but it was Monday and nothing else in the area is open) It took 1 and a half hours for a Caesar salad and an order of spring rolls. There were 22 people dining. It was in the lounge because it was Monday night. The food came out barely edible. Then came the rest of the food 45 mins after that. The salmon the sliders and the steak were diner status at best. We're done
The food and drink service is terrible. I’ve been overcharged several times. Once is obviously mistake. Three times is not a mistake, it’s intentional all the bartenders frequently will over charge. Make sure you review your bill carefully. The food is subpar. There are always mistakes with service (food) or the bill. You are lucky if they understand how to make a drink. Would rather go to a local watering hole, where the service and food is good, honest and served with a smile
We were two couples attending a Bethel Woods concert and stayed 2 nights Wednesday- Friday at a rate in $550/night($1279 total with taxes and fees). The rooms and grounds are beautiful and very comfortable Don’t be fooled by their advertisements. We stayed in a Junior Suite and there’s only a very hard to get into soaking bathtub. No walk in shower as advertised, unless you book and ADA accessible room. We arrived Wednesday, after a day of travel, and were told that the restaurant and bar were closed and we should go to a local restaurant. Eldred is a very small town with only a supermarket open. The manager was not at all nice and wasn’t interested or concerned with our disappointment. He offered nothing but insults to our nit knowing the days and hours of restaurant operations. The Homestead Restaurant only operate Thursday- Sunday 4:30 -8:00 (food just okay) and the bar operates Thursday-Monday at 3:00. A Happy Hour menu was on the bar, but the bartender said it didn’t go into effect until July. Breakfast was delicious, but after 10:00 there is absolutely no food or drink available except coffee/tea in the lobby. They advertise a lunch menu that’s available if you ordered 48 hours in advance. (I’m guessing the local supermarket needs time to fill the order) Why charge such high rates when they offer nothing, but bottled water for sale at the front desk? Boring and not an enjoyable experience. Not returning
