Recensioni di Morelia Mexican Grill Elgin
Outstanding!! The hot sauce was spicy and yummy. I had the El Tampico and it was a little bit of everything!! Really good. Super big and spacious inside. Really large parking. Very clean and nice bathrooms. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive!! We would come here again!!
Excellent drinks, happy servers. Right off 290, great for the traveler. It was very busy, but everything was still good. Recommending the fajitas. They came out great. Bathrooms were clean. Thank you, Jessica, for the great service. 5/5
We were for a wedding reception, the food was served 45min late and they had a kid helping. Family is Family but not if you haven't taught them the proper way to do it. The food was great, but the service was not.
Good food, friendly staff, and very grand facade. The fried chicken avocado was delicious... the salsa had a good smoky Chilli taste. My wife's steak fajita casadilla was excellent. There is a big open area for dining. Good surprise for a small town eat.
The fajita meat was tender and flavorful! My meal came with a tortilla soup with mushrooms that was amazing. Our server was sweet and never let our drinks go empty. We will definitely be going back!
Great food! My wife and i love to find new spots to eat. We came here today and have to say, we're impressed! Definitely will be back and inviting friends! Not sure how anyone can give this place a bad review
This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Elgin. Their menu is amazing and has so many options! Everything I've ordered was delicious. My husband on the other hand would disagree. Their pastas & jalapeno bacon wrapped shrimp are untouchable! 10's across the board and on that we both agree!
We stopped in on our way home. We are not from this area but I would definitely recommend it! Everything was very good! My husband loved their salsa and the queso was good too. My son got cheese enchiladas, I had the beef fajita stuffed avocado, and my husband had their fajitas. All super good! Wish we lived closer!
Had a delicious dinner in a beautifully decorated dining space they made special menu accommodations and the hostesses was very nice. It was sad to see not very many people eating there the food was delicious! We will definitely be back this is now our favorite "Spot" in Elgin Texas!
I love this place. The servers are super friendly and attentive and the food comes out SO FAST even when they're busy. And it's always delicious. Have tried at least half the menu and literally everything is good. My personal fav is the fried avocado entree though.
I love this place. When you pull up, it looks like an old was museum. The gaudy fountain is amazing and kind of a hallmark of this place. We were seated immediately, which was nice- so few places do that anymore! The waitress was perfect! She checked on us several times. Our water never ran out, and we didn't wait long for anything! The food was amazing too! I got a mixed platter of cheese enchilada, a tamale, and a beef fajita taco. All was made with real ingredients, fresh and definitely authentic! The temale was very substantial and will definitely clear your nose! The fajitas were amazing (my beef taco, and my dining companion's chicken fajita) it was tender, moist, and flavorful- still sizzling when she brought it out for extra show! The servings we're large- we hadn't eaten all day and and we still had enough left overs for my husband to have a complete meal. Definitely a bang for your buck, including the drinks. I will be back soon!
I've felt like Morelia's has been on the decline over the past couple of years, but recent visits have renewed my faith. There are obvious management decisions recently that have upgraded the restaurant. New menus, new bowls, plates, etc., new servers, new technology, and a better focus in the kitchen on presentation. Much appreciated and enough to keep us coming back.
The food is the only reason I am not giving a lower rating. The service was very lopsided, the server on the other side of the room was busy and attentive, our side of the room, well he couldn't have gave one flip whether we got our initial drinks or even a refill. The food was good enough to let it slide this one occasion. But not again.
Great food and service. A little loud and hard to have a conversation. We go here maybe once a week.
Stopped at Morelia Mexican Grill on our way from Dallas to San Marcos—my brother-in-law always makes this a must for their fried avocado (it’s huge and so good!). I had the street tacos and they were delicious, especially with the salsa. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and has a beautiful structure. Service was solid, and they sell cute ceramic items by the register. Definitely worth a stop if you’re driving through!
This is my favorite Mexican restaurant, in the Manor Elgin area, I have been to this restaurant more than 20 times, they have very good authentic Mexican food and my order has always been correct, the service has always been great and they keep my iced tea glass always full, but you can get beer wine and other drinks there, this a great place to eat and bring the family
We had a great time. Travis and I took pictures but I need to find them to post! Thanks!
Food was delicious. The parrillada with fajitas a la Mexicana and the quesabirria were the best I’ve ever had! Not to mention they have quail just the way I like them! Ambiance is lively with good music playing at all times. My go to spot every time I’m in Elgin. I make sure I stop when ever I’m in and out of Austin!
I had the quesabirria and it was delicious I highly recommend, definitely will be going back again! They have great margaritas as they should since they were a runner up for best margaritas this last year, I went just with my partner and it would be a fun place for a group of friends!
This is a great place to eat. Food was excellent. Absolutely loved the salsa and chips. Had the chipotle enchiladas and they were very good. Lots of flavor. The drinks were also good. The staff was friendly and the service was great.
This is a huge place with impressive decorations and a big menu too. Their staff were friendly and attentive. We enjoyed their mole enchiladas and crawfish enchiladas as well as a watermelon margarita. The sauce on both enchiladas was delicious and the margarita was big. Definitely worth stopping here. They have a big parking lot and there is street parking nearby.
The food is tasty. Yes the food isn't as large as other places. But it's good food. And if you're into art and wide Open spaces this is a beautiful place to see. They have big wall pictures. They're three-dimensional. They have a cathedral ceiling with pictures of horses as clouds. It's just a wonderful place to relax meet. We're definitely coming back and we're bringing our families. Even their bathrooms are amazing.
The food is very good here. But the service is VERY slow. On a busy Saturday afternoon for lunch we only saw 2 waitresses taking the orders and one of them was behind the bar. It took over 40 mins to get our food. By that time you get full off the chips and salsa. But that's ok because the roasted salsa is very good. Worth the trip to eat there IF you have time to waste.
It was a great experience, they made me and my wife feels like in home. We definitely can comeback again
The food was good, the service was good. Bathrooms need attention as unpleasant odor flows into the dining area.
The food was excellent highly recommend the asada steak. The red salsa is pretty good green salsa taste meh. However they have a spicy green sauce in the back that you have to ask for it that is delicious. Service was mediocre they seemed a little short staffed I guess not sure. We have been there before and it was excellent everything was great maybe it was just an off day. That's why I took off one star. Overall however I will go again and I recommend.
First visit to this location. The food was good. Carnitas were a little overcooked but still good. Portion sizes were good. The biggest problem was that our sever while she did her job was not very friendly and i didn't think she was having a great night.
Local Mexican place competing with all of the other local Mexican places. There’s no shortage of Mexican food or BBQ in Elgin. This place is easy to spot and get to off of the main road through town. Plenty of parking. Can get busy at lunch but I’ve never seen this place packed. Food is standard; nothing super great or terrible. Good option for lunch or dinner.
We stopped in tonight for the 1st time.. and we will definitely be back!! The mango margarita is amazing, and the food was absolutely delicious!! Our server seemed a little rushed, but she was busy and we understand.. she was still very polite and helpful. Definitely worth the drive over there!!!
Best new place for my Mexican martinis 🫒 I also use there delivery service from here and these guys and gals are fast . Customer service is good as well the bartender rock 💯 . So come check them out I recommend
Good food in Elgin. It's a sit-down restaurant, but a happy hour definitely takes the Cake here, Or takes the flan however you want to say it. Their fajitas are great and they do a great job on the quesadillas as well. The Chile Reyenos are a bit mild but their salsa makes up for it.
The food was amazing and the service was hospitible however she gave my husband a large drink when he ordered a small one. Large price difference. Plus he was driving and spoke in Spanish to make himself clear. It was a miscommunication but it led us to leave a smaller than usual tip. Felt disrespected and like it was out of line with her comments. It was a bad day not her intent we do believe! It was worth the drive for the food!
The dining area can be loud when crowded, but the place is beautiful. The food has highs and lows. The tortilla soup is one of the better I've had, but the cheese dip could use a better base. The staff are attentive and nice.
Food was outstanding, service on the other hand I think was better then the last time we were here. It just always looks like they are short handed. And yes, it took a good 10 minutes for our drink order to be taken. We were there Valentines Day and they had couples sitting in both room. I feel that couples without kids should of been placed in the back room and couples with kids should be placed in the front room. Too loud... All in all, I will come back.
Service is slow, always has been. Otherwise it's a good place to eat.
Pretty cool place, went on Valentine's Day. It was decorated nicely. Food was descent.
The quality and portions of the food are very good. Our server was attentive and friendly. The menu has a good variety and will definitely come back to try other dishes.
Pretty neat spot. Love all the art decor. The bathroom sinks were neat too. The Jalapeño margarita was fabulous!! The quail with the fajitas was a difficult pairing. You have to pull off the bone first. The shrimp fried jalapeños were great except the tails were left on. The mushroom soup was absolutely in my opinion the best thing on the menu!! It was so good! It was a little high priced but still good.
Sign on the door said Sorry Prices Have Gone Up. Sign inside said Sorry We Only Have Two Staff Working Today. It's allll good folks...yeah it was a couple dollars more and yeah the servers were too busy to sweep but Dang Good Margaritas and Dang Good El Rico plates!! Nice and spacious inside, felt very comfortable and service was great!
I enjoy choice items on the menu. It's the best place for Mexican food in Elgin, but maybe because it's the only one I know of. Many things they make aren't very good or are clearly not using quality ingredients. It's also very noisy. This mostly the buildings fault, sound travels and echoes easily, but it can be quite unpleasant. The service is good though and what I do enjoy is very good.
I would probably give this place a 3.5 if I could. The food is alright. Their menu is a little overpopulated. Service was a little slow for a Sunday afternoon. I got the carne guisada, and It was recognizable, but the gravy seemed a bit thin and maybe a little over seasoned, no skimping on the tortillas, though. I imagine this place is great for happy hour as their drink selection is fairly extensive.
Service is good. Food is decent some times, other times it taste like it is from the day beforehand and I am eating leftovers. It's not the worst place, but it isn't the best place either. Big restaurant with ornate decorations. If only they would put as much work into the food as they did for the restaurant.
We visited on a Sunday afternoon and got seated right away. The server was pleasant but did not check back after we got our food to make sure we had everything we needed. As far as the food, I had the Alambra plate, which had grilled fajita, chicken, shrimp and some grilled bell peppers, onions and mushrooms. There were only two shrimp and the chicken was so dry I couldn’t eat it. The fajita was a little pink. The tortillas that came with the plate were undercooked. Needless to say, the plate was not worth the $12 price tag.
Great Food and Great People So like eating here for the most part But today I came on my lunch break, First let me say, they were busy, and short staffed, but regardless, my waitress, it took here 15 to 20 minutes just for my tea and chips and salsa. The salsa wasn't the red sauce, it was the green sauce. Another thing I told her half&half tea she gave me unsweet tea. I can't have or eat the green sauce. Then it took another 20 minutes for her to take my order. I had to eat really fast, and hurry back for work. Today was just a very bad experience I was by myself on the table she was more concerned with the full party people instead of one person dine in. Thanks for nothing I hope you won't be my waitress again, I will move to another table or walk out
Understaffed, didn't get to order drinks till 40 mins later. The frozen margaritas are great! But the prices have gone up, food is not worth the price.
Great food. Great service. Why only three stars? It seems way too expensive for such small portion sizes.
This location is under staffed. I was lucky to get there when only one other table was seated. There was only one server working. Nobody is there to greet and seat you. I had to tell some of the customers that they need to seat themselves. The dining room is dark and has to no atmosphere. The food is good and the house margarita is better than most. I find myself going to Casa Garcia's in Manor if I have the extra 10 minutes to drive there.
Food was okay, tasty enough, but my tortilla soup should have been called mushroom soup. My iced tea went empty 3/4 way through the meal. The restroom smelled of mildew and the dining room was dimly lit and didn't feel clean.
It's normally really good but the drinks didn't have a lot of salt like k asked for and the jalapeno margarita didn't have much jalapeno taste. The fajitas were meh this time not sure why as they are usually off the chain!!
I'm pretty sure they raise their prices every year and it's gotten a bit pricey because of that. Last time we went the staff was incredibly rude to my mom and I, often skipping our table for long intervals of time and generally giving us a bad attitude. The food is decent but it really depends on the day for the attitude of the staff and the quality of the food.
This has been a favorite of mine ate there 2 weeks in a row. Before last night i would have given them 5 stars. Unfortunately i was extremely sick after eating there yesterday. So be careful ordering anything with pork in it and stick to the popular menu items. Drinks are good.
They did not have regular chicken enchiladas with red sauce, so I got the enchiladas cremosas. I expected a white queso but they were weird. Boiled chicken with a gravy topping wrapped in a tortilla. The chipotle sauce tasted canned as did the refried beans. The service was good and the art was very cool.
The food is decent here for being in a pass by town. What I didn’t like was that there was ONE person working. She was bartending, waiting tables, and closing out. Service took forever, but she was kind. I also did not like that as a TABC certified bartender myself, she was very served. There was a lady sitting at the bar drunk and yelling at the politics on the tv. She was being racist and causing a disturbance. And the bartender seriously asked her if she wanted another drink. The woman took two more shots and stumbled out of here barely able to stand on her own. I hope I don’t see them on the highway when I leave here shortly.
I admit I haven't been to the Elgin Morelias since February but it's not what I remember. Ordered the tortilla soup which ive always adored but they've changed the recipe. The flavor of the soup was watery and the chicken was over cooked and tasteless. I'll try again this fall and hope it was a bad night. The staff was friendly and attentive.
First time eating here, and it was disappointing how our food tasted for easy Mexican dishes. They have a large selection of different types of plates but didn't exceed expectations on some basic enchiladas, so I'm certain the other dishes are just as disappointing. We will not return nor will we recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I had the chicken enchiladas verdes. The chicken was just large chunks of dry chicken, not the usual moist and shredded that this item would normally have. The rice and beans was just very average. The interior is nice and the waitress was attentive, but the lackluster food will not bring me back. I think they can do better.
Stopped by here as we passed through Elgin one Sunday evening recently. We've always wanted to try it because it looks so nice on the outside. On the night we stopped it was a little slow. Our food came out quickly and was hot and fresh but the portions weren't as large as expected (except for the large margarita). There were only a few parties dining in and no background music playing so the atmosphere was a bit sterile. Overall it was just okay. I'm spoiled with the great Mexican restaurants I have to choose from in Georgetown.
The fish tacos were sparse and over priced...there was only a small sliver of fish in each one. Uncool.
My experience yesterday was not the best. The drinks were ok. We ordered the Fajita plate. It was at our place at the bar in 3 minutes or less it wasn't even sizzling just Steak and onions. No peppers or anything else. It seemed to us that it was ordered from someone else and mabe they turned it away previous. I've been to the one at Stonehill in Pflugerville. I've never had this problem .
Chips and Salsa were okay. I ordered the El Vaquero combination plate with chicken fajita. The portion size was fair. The chicken fajita as well as the chicken enchilada were extremely dry and were clearly cooked well in advance and then reheated. I am fairly certain it was cooked at least a day prior. The rice and beans were fairly standard and pretty salty. The wait staff was friendly and attentive, so the tip was good and reflected the service provided. However in terms of the food, I gave this place a try but I will not be back. There are far better options in the area.
Some like this place because when I drive by on the weekends there are cars ,weekdays I was there at lunch with about 10 more people. .I think restaurants should be impressive , not depressive
Service is slow!!! Like super slow. The food is unseasoned. Surprisingly the ribs were good. I'll be back but only when I have the whole day to wait.
I will be giving them another try next time i come back through town. Service was excellent, as is the unique design of the restaurant! Unfortunately, I wasn't very happy with my plate. The flavor just wasn't there, and the food was so different from what I'm used to. As in prepared in a totally different way. Also, the first time I've ever been charged for a side of salsa 🤔
We travel through Elgin constantly. The building attracted me in several occasions and we finally made the decision to stop and give it a try. I guess my expectations were pretty high. Upon entry we we noticed the building empty and quiet. It almost seemed like they were about to close. It was pretty dark. there was No music in background, all you heard was our echo when we talked. We were seated without a menu. We had to ask for one after several minutes. I was impressed by the extensive menu options. But the food and drinks were mediocre. Our waitress was not very welcoming, almost like she didn’t feel like working that day. Overall, poor customer service, poor atmosphere, poor food quality, the only reason I gave this place two stars is because of the price. I normally don’t like to leave bad reviews, but if this post captures the owners attention to make some changes for the better, then hopefully other new customers don’t experience what we did. And who knows maybe we just picked a bad day to stop by. But I’m afraid this will be the one and only time for us.
You need to correct your menu. You do not serve Chicken Tortilla Soup, you serve caldo de pollo. They are 2 completely different soups and because you labeled it wrong I ordered it and hated the experience. Staff was really great, this is just against the food.
The food is always dull and sometimes not warm enough. The service has always left me wanting. Sometimes they take a long time just to come and take our order. Almost every time we have to wait WAY too long to get the check. Any extras from the server we've had to find and chase them down to get them. Ambience is cool enough. The curb appeal is kind of cool. We've really wanted to like this place, even ordered multiple different dishes every time we went. In the end, everything we would expect in a good restaurant is just not there.
I have been enjoying good food here for many years but this time I was so disappointed. The ribeyes were always so good in the past but I sent it back twice— it was not a ribeye (sure it was sirloin). It was so thin and cooked totally done instead of medium rare TWICE. I ended up with a stuffed avocado which was good. At least they were accommodating in letting me get something else.
I ordered the Bianca Tilapia and a small guacamole. The fish was super salty, and super "fishy." My jalapeños were missing. You can see, I really got a half order of guacamole. And, to be honest, I believe the quacamole has pea filler as it had zero flavor. Not a fan, although I used to love this place. Too pricey - I paid $26 for this meal. There are better places in Elgin, in my opinion.
We are regulars at this restaurant. On 7/3/23 we picked up 2 Apulia Pastas. Within 32mins of eating, my husband and myself were in & out of the bathroom for most of the night. Next day I called & spoke with a lady asking for Manager, she simply said idk & hung up. Called again she picked up and stated try calling another day. I literally called everyday to get ahold of someone in charge & nobody was ever available. Today we called about our issue, the gentleman stated they don't come in during the week, just weekends. While explaining our issue, he than stated did you go to the hospital to confirm the food poisoning? Because it takes couple of days for food poisoning to hit your system. I explained that I work in the food industry so that is totally false info about food poisoning, he said well I'm not sure what you want me to do because again good poisoning takes days to kick in. We were not gonna sit there & argue over food that got us sick. Just sad we been going there for 12yrs and as we stated this wasn't our first food poisoning incident. But to hear from the Owner himself how he handles his issues, I would NEVER recommend this place again.
Worst food ever. I just paid over $20 for the Tilapia Marina….it wasn’t cooked and the entire plate was covered in about an inch of oil. I don’t even have the capacity to drive back up there and make a stink, so I’m leaving this review. Total waste of money. I hope I don’t get sick. The only good thing about my meal was the charro beans. I usually have a great experience at the Pflugerville location. Will not order from here again.
My service was absolutely HORRIBLE today!!! The waitress never came to check on us, I had to ask the bus boy for silverware and another waitress for more drink. When asked for a manger, the waitress came out and all the manager said was "sorry". NEVER going back!
You has a menu that has all the prices whited out? The waiter said it had been 4 to 5 months since they've had prices on their menu. The waitstaff nice. That is about the only thing good I can say my food was so terrible I didn't even eat a 4th of it at most. The beef fajita meat was so dry and so tough that I couldn't eat it. I will never come back to this establishment
The place is beautiful but not the food, price or service . not only was the building extremely hot but Our service was horrible, they took a while before getting our drink order and after they finally went it took them longer than 10 minutes for us to get our drinks and as far as I know the drinks should always be place on the table and in front of us but instead they were handed to us from across the table and not to mention the food not only did they take for ever to bring to us but it was also horrible, I ordered a GRILLED shrimp salad which I dint even eat because the shrimp wasn't even well coked and it tasted a little off and the salad leafs were already brown from the sides , they had brought all of our plates except for my daughters I had to ask for it like 4 times before they finally took it after we were literally all done eating so yes they took approximately 30-40 minutes just for a kids meal that had only 2 hard chicken tenders and 10 fries . they also took very long to take house alcoholic beverage that my husband he order right when they took his plate to the table ! I went to this place to have a good time with my family and it the was the total opposite and when I opened the tab and saw that it was $70 for just a party of 3 I was very shocked I went back and looked at what we had ordered and how much each item was and what came to my surprise was that we were charged a $10 gratuity when I was honestly not even going to leave one because of how bad the service was . SO YES ! this person got probably $40 of tip or more from me and my other family members and I repeat the service was HORRIBLE ! i wanted to refuse paying my plate and my daughters extremely hard chicken fingers and let alone the tip but my husband did not want me to make a scene ! I would leave no stars but in order to post this I have to give it one
We ordered fajitas for 2 n queso 50 dollars later. It was not enough for 2 N the meat had only onions no peppers red green Soooooop disappointed. Next time we ll Cook them at home. I’m done!!!!’nn
I eat here three times, thinking the service would be better. They say seat anywhere, then wait ten minutes to take drink order, then taken meal order. Drinks come when ask twice about them. No body's is watching the dining area. So eat and walk out with out anyone stopping you. Food portions are small. So if want good customers service go to taco bell. This place should avoid eating at.
This place has gone so downhill! It’s such a shame, they use to be so wonderful. We sat for more than 10 minutes before someone even came to take our drink order. They did however bring chips and salsa which we all choked on because the chips were stale and the salsa too hot. They didn’t have any of the green salsa either. By the time we finally got our drinks and ordered I was ready to walk out. The margarita was terrible, hardly any tequila and too sweet! My husband and I couldn’t finished it between us. The brought our food and I didn’t get what I ordered but the waitress rushed off before I could even tell her. I ordered spinach enchiladas and got shrimp. I’m not too stuck up or picky to try the food and I did. The shrimp was inedible because the shrimp still had the shell on them. I put the plate on the edge of the table hoping to flag someone over but the waitress didn’t come back until my husband and daughter were through with their food. I told her I didn’t want anything else. She brought the check and apologized and took the meal off but at that point I was already frustrated. I understand everywhere is understaffed and overworked. I still left a adequate tip but we will NOT be back. The is the third time in a row having a bad experience here!
We paid for fajitas for 2 people and shrimp, the shrimp smelled bad and was hard, and they didn't even give us enough for one person. The service is lousy, we asked for half corn tortillas and half flour, they brought all flour and had the nerve to charge us for the corn tortillas; they don't care if they make a mistake on your order they ignore it like it's nothing.
If I could give it a 0, I would. Not only did the server ignore us on multiple occasions, had to ask another person to actually get the drink we ordered, our orders were wrong and the food was cold with the serving size as small as a toddler kids meal. Just like another review said, go to taco bell for a better meal and good service.
4/28/25- Bad food and even worse service The waitress had a terrible attitude from the start, checked on us only 1x after we got our food And left us sitting for 40 mins waiting for our drinks. We nearly walked out without paying, the service was THAT negligent. Food was bland, tasteless and uninspired. The drinks- that the waitress made- were poorly done with wayyyyy too much alcohol to taste the mixture. $53 for 2 people. Totally not worth it-Especially since there are so many other- better- options in the area.
Watch out for the added tip. The margaritas have very little tequila. We ordered 2 pitchers and neither of us had a buzz.. food is good but Mexican food in Giddings is way better. Over priced. Service was horrible. Had to ask to place order and refills.
Bit into my food and saw a roach before I took another bite. Waitress could only say I'm sorry as I was walking out to tell other patrons on my way before throwing up. NEVER GO THERE! The company I work for is in Elgin, and now that I've shared that everyone else is sharing their bad experiences too. When the waitress took my food she walked away saying again.Wth?! I have reported them to the department of health.
Nice place and atmosphere. However, the food wasn't very good and the service was slow.
Save yourself the dinner out here. There are much better Mexican restaurants in this area. The steak was too chewy and the chicken had zero flavor. Our food was just bland and not good. Not to mention, the margarita was just straight alcohol with no lime or other flavors. Not someone to typically complain about the glass it comes in either but a plastic cup should have been my first warning. Our server was semi attentive but seemed like she just did not want to be there. I don’t like to write bad reviews… but honestly some of the worst Mexican food we’ve had in Texas and were big Mexican food fans!
