Tacos Fresco is a chain of Tex Mex tortillerias found throughout the New York metropolitan area. They offer the standard Tex Mex fare of food, including tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, and tortillas. Their big plusses are very economical prices and extremely quick service.
Yesterday I called by phone and ordered a chicken quesadilla. The inside was very clean and not run-down like most of the tex-mex places near me. The quesadilla came with salsa and had a good amount of chicken for $6.50. I feel bad because there was a lot of seating and it was clean, but there were no customers to eating inside. I hope more people come and support this small business. : )
My 2nd time trying Mexican and it was absolutely delicious, the steak was tender, everything was just perfectly cooked. I will be ordering again.

Absolutely love this place!!! Great food!! Great prices!! Amazing service!! Have been ordering here for almost a decade now and if we call or go in person we are always remembered and greatly warmly. Orders are never wrong and delivery time is unmatched. Hard working family run and amazing!!
I was so excited when I saw the logo on the awning 😭. I've been going to the one in Brooklyn on court street for like 20 years, recently moved to queens and missed it. This place is so good, I always look for the fresco logo lol. And the shrimp in the shrimp fajitas tastes salt baked its so good. The fajitas are my favorite thing. Get them all and get a bunch. Fresco never disappoints.
If all you need is a lot of decent, cheap food made quickly and a quiet place to eat, then this is the spot for you. I always go in-person and there's usually no one there. In my opinion, this restaurant is very very convenient if you're close by so give it a shot, literally can't hurt.
My group today went to this place and two of them ordered food from this place, one had rice with chicken and the other had a chicken stew burrito. The service was good and the atmosphere was quiet.
My friends, staff, and I have been to this place months ago and that one of my friends ordered nacho supreme, which had nacho cheese, guacamole, and many others. The service was wonderful, and the atmosphere was people eating there, taking orders and many other things.
Been coming here for years. Always been OK, nothing to write home about, but great for if I wanted quick mexican. In the past year I have gone they have seriously upped their game. If you came before a year or so ago, try them again. The food is getting more and more delicious. Seriously, the chicken's always been good but now it's better. Beans are getting better. The portion sizes are getting larger as well. Never seen a place improve, usually they stay the same. These guys are trying, that is for sure. Also they have always been so nice all these years. Always make them to order how I want.
This place is run by a friendly Chinese couple who have known me since I was a baby, and I think they make the best Mexican food in Queens. They are nice people, very kind and generous, and always make me laugh. They keep the place clean, keep the prices affordable, and don’t skimp out on portions. I’ve been coming here with my dad since I was a little girl, and I always get the same thing: a shrimp quesadilla with only mozzarella cheese in it and a chicken burrito with black beans, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese (mozzerella and cheddar), salsa, guac, sour cream, and green hot sauce. I also recommend getting a quesadilla with steak or chicken with yellow cheese and a little bit of green hot sauce. They also make this really yummy salad bowl. They take the material of a hard shell taco, but shape it into a bowl, and make a salad inside. SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES!!!
I love their tostada bowls! Always so good. They provide great customer service— food always comes out fresh and swift!

I've been going here for years, the family that runs it is very nice and the food very tasty...
literally have been ordering from Fresco for almost my whole life (20 or so of the 30 years i’ve been alive!) and have rarely encountered a single issue or bad experience. food is tasty and fresh, prices are good and you will NEVER leave hungry! is it THE ABSOLUTE BEST Tex-Mex in the city, or even in Queens? probably not, but this is NYC, after all. i’ll say this though - i keep coming back!
I usually don't write bad reviews, but after eating their chicken combo tonight, I am literally sick to my stomach. Since I was working from home today and didn't want to step out to grab anything, I figured I'd order from this Mexican place I have been seeing down the street from me. I was starving so I sorted my Seamless options by closest distance, and this is one of the top 5. After I placed my order, an hour goes by. I called and asked about the status of the order. Like another reviewer on Seamless mentioned, the lady tells me, "he left." I quickly asked, "how long ago?" She says, "I don't know, maybe 5-8 mins." I then thanked her and hung up the phone. Ten minutes later, still nothing. I could have walked there and back by now. Mind you, I am no longer hungry because an hour has gone by. I have totally forgotten about my meal by now until I heard a doorbell. Needless to say, I got yelled at over the phone, received my food half an hour past estimated delivery time (that is, over an hour from ordering), and got food poisoning as a result of all this. After this experience, I will be sure never to order here again. Leave the Mexican food to the Mexicans, please!
They're fine. They are nothing special but 1) they give you huge portions and 2) they are extremely friendly. The food is totally mediocre. Except the chicken, somehow their chicken is really, really good. I also highly recommend their stewed chicken... very unique and flavorful. But otherwise it's just fine. It's not bad at all but it's not a knockout by any means. I am there often because the prices are fine... again not the best prices but not expensive by any stretch of the imagination either. They have a ton of room inside to sit and it's never busy, so it's honestly saved me on many occasions when I've been exhausted and needed a huge meal and comfortable place to sit under a fan and relax in peace and quiet with no other customers bothering me. Their kids study out in the dining room. These people are just trying to make a living and raise a family and frankly there is nothing godawful wrong with their product, so in the absence of anything close to the price and convenience they offer, I will always come back and order.
Prices were very good. Its a family run restaurant and it shows. They keep the place very clean and they're well organized. The bean tacos are really good, I'm not sure what they do differently but they have such a great flavor to them. The chicken and rice is pretty good too. The Quesadilla was a little soggy, but not overly so. There's lots of room, but it was a little dark. More lighting would be nice. They give good portions and overall its a good value for your dollar.

I ordered a chicken and beef combination dinner, the amount of meat in the order( for $8) was disappointing. See the attached photo 😬.The service was and friendly and food tasted good.
They give alot of salad and onions barely any rice and meat they are starting to slice very thin, deli sliced now

Ordered a chimichanga. Got a soggy oily burrito. I called the restaurant to let them know I didn't get what I ordered and they argued with me that this is how they make chimichangas. What??! I suggested that maybe they're making them wrong because chimichangas are deep fried and aren't filled with rice. I was assured again that what I received was what they call chimichangas at their restaurant and it's clear on the menu. Attached is a photo as well as the description on grub hub. You decide. Also, no guacamole. Glad I ordered it on the side. My major complaint about this place is that on top of a misleading and poorly executed menu, the service is awful. Dude would have argued with me all night if I let him.

I work around the area and I decided to get a tostada salad with chicken fajitas and let’s just say it was very disappointing. The chicken that was ontop had was black and the chicken in the bottom you can see it was fresh there excuse was it’s because of the “grill” which is a lie because you can clearly see the difference between the two. Guacamole was also black and you don’t need to be a professional chef to know when the guacamole is from another day. When I went back to return the food the owner was very rude she started arguing with me but the younger lady that was there she refunded me with no issue. I almost forgot they use NO GLOVES!!!! When the owner took my card to give it to the young lady for my refund she went back to the grill which is almost right next to the register and she was making what I believe it was a quesadilla without washing her hands or putting gloves on very unsanitary. I will never return. Customer service needs to be better along with quality of food and they need to be sanitary.
Ordered nachos today and it was as bland as can be. The guacamole does not look or taste like guacamole at all. The food was extremely oily and the nachos soggy even though I ate it 10 min after buying. Everything looked and tasted like it came from a can and has been sitting out for days. The nachos were soaked in bland cheddar cheese and had barely any ingredients. Will not be returning. Save your money
