Great breakfast nook atmosphere! Always world class service and today Amanda, going above and beyond, was no exception! The second reason we ALWAYS come to EggHeads when we are in town the amazing service... even when they're busy and theres a wait. The first reason, well I love traveling and have had Hollandaise Sauce all over the world. It is not an understatement, to say that EggHeads tops every other Hollandaise sauce I have ever had and is world class! Want something different try the Wicked Hollandaise Sauce with a hint of tequila and lime. All you can say is is just WOW! AMAZING 10/10, ***** WE Will always come back!
We clanked into Egghead’s Restaurant in Fort Bragg with a little swagger and a lot of appetite. The crew was intact. The Cowardly Lion, already flushed and needy. The Scarecrow, starving for stimulation. Dorothy, charged up with that windswept coastal sparkle. Toto, feral and scanning the floor like a tiny criminal. And me. Tin. Glossy. Open to experience. The plates arrived looking bold and unashamed. Eggs lounging confidently, yolks glowing like they knew they were being watched. Dorothy cut into her omelet and it folded open slowly, dramatically, like it wanted the attention. Bacon snapped and curled on the Lion’s plate, daring him to be brave about it. He was. Very brave. Pancakes sprawled out wide and warm, soaking syrup without apology. The Scarecrow stared a little too long, then nodded like he’d just learned something important. Coffee kept circling the table, dark and insistent. Every refill lingered half a beat longer than necessary. The kind of pour that says, you’re not done yet. Neither are we. My joints loosened. My gears hummed. Somewhere in my hollow chest, something almost-heart-shaped started knocking. The atmosphere was cozy but charged. Forks slid. Plates whispered. Outside, the fog pressed its face to the windows like it was curious about what was happening inside. The server handled us smoothly, unbothered by the Lion’s heavy breathing or Dorothy’s slow, knowing smile. Professional. Seasoned. Zesty. I didn’t walk out with a heart, but I did leave feeling tuned up, turned on, and very well fed. Five stars. Egghead’s knows how to work a morning crowd. 🍳⚙️🌶️
You enter into a story of the Wizard of Oz. It is all around, the menu is from there too 🙂 The food is delicious, really tasty, homemade, fresh bites. We chatted with the owner, very sweet lady. It is the place you wanna eat, and don’t forget to ask why the Wizard of Oz - you’ll love the response.
It was such a pleasure to talk to Becky and learn a little about the history of the place, the struggles of the past and the re-rise of Eggheads. I am rooting for the team. The food was excellent. Must try the Pumpkin Cream Waffle. Too Good. I had Uncle Henry's Farmhand favorite - the bacons were really good. I scraped that plate well, rest assured.
The food is wonderful and the people are super nice! I had the Flying Monkey Potatoes and husband had the Housemade Chunky Corned Beef, not Hash. Both were perfectly flavored. The potatoes were cooked just right in both. My potatoes had amazing veggies cooked just right, no mush. They gave me blackberry jam for my toast with my meal and I have to say it was the perfect flavor pairing. Definitely enough food. I was only able to finish half. My husbands eggs were cooked perfectly and he was also super happy. They also have good coffee with a bottomless cup. We have tried to come a few times but it was too busy on the weekends we came. I am super glad we were finally able to try this beautiful lil local spot!
Have been here a few times now on 2 different vacations. The food is fantastic and they give you your money's worth on the crab dishes. Staff is friendly and attentive. Definitely go here if your in town but get there early, it's a small place and very popular. Maybe petty, but my only complaint is the very upright, narrow, and uncomfortable bench seats.
This place was recommended to us. I like a sit down breakfast. My husband prefers mocha and a pastry. The atmosphere has a Wizard of Oz theme. It was crowded for a Monday. They were training someone in the kitchen, so they were slow getting out food out. It was worth the wait. I had the eggs Benedict and country potatoes.
My husband and I had the pumpkin cream waffle that has banana slices and almond cream on top with coffee. Typically places only give a few banana slices, but Egghead's completely covers the waffle with them to our delight! I usually don't like almond tasting things, so I had mine put on the side. Tentatively tasting it, I had found that it was also delicious! We enjoyed our waffles and Amanda, our server, was very kind! She also handled a customer, who was obnoxiously complaining for several minutes about his food and the fact they use sugar cane plates instead of hard dishware, like a pro! I almost spoke up a few times to tell that man to get over himself, it isn't that big of a deal. If plates matter to you, find a tablecloth restaurant. If you are just wanting a cool place with nice service, then this is the place for you!
I'd say I'll be back for the Dorothy Revenge omelet. I decided to go with Glinda eggs Benedict with a creamy champagne sauce lumps of dungeness crab with a slice of ham or bacon whatever it is it is delicious..Some of the reviews stated these menu items are over priced. I might have to agree IF the servers, coffee and food sucked. But it doesn't the food was perfectly prepared. I did sample the Dorothy Revenge wholly cow it so deliciously cheesy, velvety sauce lumps and more lumps of crab.
Cute lil brunch spot. Their food was pretty good. I got the Emerald omlette, which was a lot of food. The service was friendly too. The restaurant is small so we had to wait for half an hour, which wasn’t really a problem. The inside is Wizard of Oz themed, which was really cool. Overall, a good experience.

No trip is complete to the coast without a trip to Eggheads. It was the number one requested place for directions when I was in hospitality. Today I ventured to this veritable OZ with my son and boy did we catch the yellow brick road. It is always packed so be prepared for a wait, they have a text system in place. It is small and quaint immersed in a Wizard of Oz theme. The staff was pleasant and the service very quick. Our waitress even understood when I didn’t want any carbs, though there was no discount 😢. The food here is very good and their Benedict 🔥. Whether you are a local or just one of our valued visitors, Eggheads is a place to try.
We went on a Sunday am and arrived around 9:00 am got on the waiting list and got in around 10:30. In the meantime we spent 45 minutes walking around talking to the locals and visiting the skunk train location. Got a seat, drinks and food, finished eating which took another hour. Eggheads has been in business about 50 years in Fort Bragg and is a small establishment with 12 tables including booths. Bathroom out back through the kitchen, like I said small. We had "not" corned beef corned beef and it was probably the best we ever had.I had garlic veggies Omelette and it was stuffed full. Totally worth the wait. If your not in a hurry go here you won't regret it.
Walking the theme and atmosphere are super engaging and definitely bring the joy out of those who like The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, lots of art and symbolism, it's everything. The food was served fairly quickly considering the packed booths and was really good I definitely appreciated the pineapple and bread served with my omelet it could have used some more seasoning and a bit more time cooking but that could be chalked up to preference, but it was asked of me what I want.
Food was very good, and very generous portions. We really liked both the pumpkin cream waffle and the burger. The cafe is also very cute with a lot of of Wizard of Oz decorations. However, the service was very slow, which was surprising as it was not very busy. We waited ~20 minutes for our table, and then an additional ~30 minutes for our food - plan appropriately if you plan to stop by

Eggheads was a bit underwhelming given all the hype, but overall still a decent breakfast spot. We ordered the pumpkin cream waffles and Uncle Henry’s Farmhand Favorite. The waffles were just okay, and the syrup tasted a bit artificial. However, the Farmhand Favorite was actually really good — especially the potatoes, which were the highlight of the meal. There was about a 30-minute wait to get a table (which we expected), but it’s worth noting that most nearby shops don’t open until 10am, so there isn’t much to do while waiting. Once seated, it also took a while for the food to arrive, and it was served on paper plates, which was surprising. Not bad overall, but it didn’t quite live up to expectations.
I ordered the veggie omelets, potato, coffee with sourdough toast. The food was good and it cost me $18 for just the entre. Coffee was another $4-5. They serve this with ONLY a tiny piece of sourdough bread. I eat 2. I was VERY disappointed because I had to pay extra $5 for the bread. This is Very bad. I am going to Denny's today (and every where else) where they serve 2 slices of toast. They also serve you in paper plates. The restaurant is very small and congested. The service was good, food quality was good but I am giving 2 star for not providing 2 full slices of bread.

Food is good, and my server was very nice. Although the greed of the owner shines through too much. Any add on, no matter what, $4. That is a crime against yourself as an entrepreneur. Another disrespect to yourself as a business owner, the menu mentions the hollandaise sauce as being something great, but then they are going to serve it up on a paper plate, shame. Not good for those with mobility issues, the restroom is a journey through the kitchen and then very small.
Very expensive and order was not correct. Server attempted to correct it but my husband was finished eating by the time my food arrived.
