The hot dog wars are real in this region. The Dog Shack have been doing it right for decades. Fries are fries, as are cheese sticks, mushrooms etc. It's all about the Dog. With The Works is the only way to do it here. Mustard, red sauce, onions. Get 6, you'll eat them all. No sharing allowed :)

The Dog Shack is a staple from my childhood and has not changed in years. Hot Dogs with The Works and Hot Dogs with Country Sauce are our favorites.

I discovered that Dog Shack years ago while doing appliance service calls in the area. At that time it was 3 full size Hot Dogs for .99 cents. I would also get a small fried mushroom, ranch dipping sauce and a diet soda. The price eventually increased a little but is still a great buy and I live their hot dog sauce!! I would wait til 3pm for lunch if I knew that I was going to be in the area just to stop by for some dogs and mushrooms!! To this day I look forward to the Dog Shack stop if I'm in the area as I did today!! Way to go Dog Shack!!😀👍

If you like hot dogs or are feeling hungry, this is a great place to go. They only accept cash. There is standing room for about 5 people. Their specialty dogs are good but you can never go wrong with the works!

Not even dark out yet, middle of summer when people don't get hungry for dinner until around dusk/9:00pm. I don't understand how these places that are closing extra early all of the sudden plan on staying in business. Let me have it, you hold the mortgage, & I sell my own recipe of dogs w/ my meat sauce.. I'll stay open until at least 11pm weekdays, & 1am Thur. - Sat. in the summer guaranteed. Winter I'd stay as long as demand requires, & my sauce starts fights it's so good, so the demand would be there..

I have been going to the dog shack since I was a kid. Food is always consistently good! Getting the dogs in the wax paper and the fries in the same white cup brings back many memories.

Great dogs, love the curly fries with cheese. Can't beat the value of three dogs for such a good price. This is our go to for quick inexpensive meals for our family of seven.

I grew up going here when you could get 3 hotdogs for under $1. Prices have gone up minimally over the years but the food has remained perfectly the same Uncle Louie's recipe as it's always been. Always an absolute must visit when we come back to visit family in the area. I just wish we could bring them back to southern Pennsylvania with us! Pennsylvania does not have a clue what a good hot dog is.

Uncle Louie, your hot dogs are still the best. You will always be around in our hearts. Your stories are missed as well as your smile. I always enjoyed visiting while getting something good to eat. I can’t say that your famous hotdogs are missed because the kids are doing a great job. This is my favorite place to come and get a quick bite to eat. I have a soft spot for this place. It's a hole in the wall. If you aren't a local, you'd probably purposely drive by it. But I assure you, if you cram inside, cash in hand, you won't be dissatisfied. Cheap, good comfort food.....and I don't even really like hot dogs. It's worth the stop in.

This place is NOT wheelchair accessible, but that doesn't stop be from getting Dog Shack. I call in my order and it's always ready when I get there, I call when I arrive and withing 15 seconds I typically have my food. I tried to give the nice guy a tip for being awesome but he did not accept. Your amazing!

Had an excellent lunch with a friend, fresh hot delicious food and great customer service as well. They don't take cash which was my mistake but now I know to bring cash. One of my fiancee's favorite place to eat as well.

My family has gone to this place for 2 generations. My father got hot dogs from these guys as a kid, and my brother and I go here as well. We have always enjoyed they're food. We don't get to go there as much as we used to but we try to when we can. Dog shack is known for their hot dogs with the works if you want to try it. I personally get either hot dogs with just ketchup or I get a couple with meat sauce and ketchup

My wife and I love the Dog Shack! We don't live in the area any longer, but we stop there when we visit. Doesn't look like much on the outside; but their dogs are very reasonably priced and delicious. For me it is one of the ultimate comfort foods. Service was fast, friendly and efficient.

Stopped here on the way home from the eclipse, little hole in the wall type of spot, dont be fooled. The hottest, freshest chicken nuggets and fries ever. And they pack it so it's easy to eat on the ride home!

Great local place! Picnic tables outside, quick service, great deals, and friendly/helpful staff. They have nacho cheese, seasoned curly fries or regular(delicious) fries, chili sauce, and lots of drink options. And, of course, hot dogs that are full size and come 3 to a meal.

Been eating here ever since I was a kid.(over 20 years) A little place with great food!!! When you think about an American hotdog this place hits the nail on the head. I live about 50 minutes away and travel for these amazing dogs. Do yourself a favor and ask for extra onion on dogs with the works!!!! Not that they lack to begin with just a little flavor hack. The hotdogs are also great after a night in the refrigerator. The dog shack has yet to disappoint!!!!

Anyone who has lived in Hudson Falls for any amount of time knows what dog shack is. It's the that's a little hot dog place I've ever been to. The prices are great, food is great, the employees are really nice and helpful and it's usually very busy. I was stunned when I drove up and there was nobody waiting in line. Because usually this doesn't happen. Everything I ordered was hot and fresh. If you don't know what is places give it a try you'll love our hot dogs and their food. This place has the BEST cheese curly fries around. They layer the cheese throughout the whole cup and it is AMAZING! 😍 Their menu is rather large with several hot dog meal combos, fried fish options, and so many different sides to choose from. While there is not much room to stand and wait, the food is done rather quickly so it's not a problem. There are picnic tables outside if you want to stay and eat.

Small little hot dog place, amazing dogs, buns, and drink options. The inside is a bit crowded, maybe only 3-4 customers inside at a time. There is outside seating but overall no matter what, if you eat at the tables or in your car, they cook up some good dogs to take care of your hot dog craving needs.

Uncle Louie's with the works, and fiesta dogs are the best! My medium curly fries were way overfilled, many extras in the bag, way more than what you see in the photo.. not complaining 😁 The best food is always messy.. and that's what you get here, so BE SURE to grab some napkins, and indulge!! I always make it a point to stop in when I'm in town.. staff are always great!!

Dog shack has been a part of my life since I was little. I've enjoyed their food every single time I've gotten it. The only downside is what the food does to me afterward. Even so, I still keep coming back and will for the foreseeable future.

If you like hot dogs (any way) this is the place to go. They offer pricing by three for under $2. Your dogs are made to order in front of you. The place is a favorite for locals and visitors alike. It is a to go place, no tables inside and a very small parking lot with lots of pot holes so be careful.

The owners are so friendly. They have a loyal following. The food is good and they offer an extensive menu. There are picnic tables outside to eat, kinda cold in the winter, but no place to eat inside as the place is the size of a walk in closet. The horseradish dip is awesome with curly fries.

It's a small little place, the people are always friendly and they are quick as well, the food is good and they have more than just hotdogs if you want something else. If you haven't been here I recommend a stop.

Love me some Shack of Dogs, can't beat it!! My one and only complaint is the paper wrap, way to often 1/2 the sauce on the Dogs ends up on the paper, unless the person doing the Dogs "pushes them INTO THE ROLL far enough" so that lessons the issue, please do better with that, Thank You!!

So a week ago for the first time my husband and I tried the dog shack because it's summertime weather and hot dogs are a must but they have other stuff of course so we got the three combo I got wedges and macaroni salad. And my husband got also the three but with onion rings it wasn't until the next morning I realized that I never had my macaroni salad because it never made it in the bag 🤣🤣🤣🤣 besides that I really like their dogs so we will go back in this time we'll just make sure everything we orders there..

Rinky-dink hotdog and fried food place in between Hudson Falls and Fort Edward. CASH ONLY!!! Fried mushrooms, fish, etc. The cheese fries are excellent and hot dog with the works is the way to go.

First off this place is cash only, the hotdogs here are skinny and small. The dogs are average in the taste department nothing spectacular. The one thing this place does have going for it is the price and quantity of food. I was able to get three dogs a large thing of fries and a soda for under $6. Also they have a sign saying over 40 million served out front, no way I'm buying that comes out to around 2,500 hot dogs sold a day.

I remember when they offered 3 dogs for under a dollar. Inflation is not their fault. The menu has too much. It should be simpler. Dogs aren't very hot but still worth going every time I am in Hudson Falls!

We ordered hot dogs by telephone for pick up. Got there and noticed the amount was high. Was told their prices went up. After calculating found they had over charged us. When they pulled the receipt they had changed the amount of hot dogs ordered. Was given back the over charged amount but the woman who I have never seen in there before was rude and nasty. Some people should not be working with the public. I will be going back to talk to the lady that is usually there. They may loose our business.

I have not eaten here and years and figured why not. I ordered my food and the girl making my food was very rude and making unwarranted remarks about a condiment i asked for on my hot dogs. I will not be eating here again and i hope you get some more professional staff

Two stars, but with the caveat that they do more with those two stars than some restaurants do with 5. True to its name, this is hands down the tiniest, grimiest, rudest, most slovenly establishment I've ever patronised. But that's kind of their thing. Locals love this hole in the wall because you can get a pack of three hotdogs, with the works, for $1.89. And it's delicious. I would never recommend this place to folks traveling in the area, or visit for a special occasion, but after a long week at work, when I'm too tired to cook, with no money in my checking account, and only five bucks in my pocket, you can be sure that you'll find me at the Dog Shack.

They don't heat the hot dogs all the way through. I personally havent eaten there in years. The family has. Good prices. Attitude from the counter person. Especially if you are not satisfied with your food.

For years the food and service was amazing , today 5/10/2019 was the worst ever. The service was so unprofessional the girl making the food should be fired for her miserable unprofessional manner. The place is a mess cob webs on the ceiling where they cook food, walls are dirty, years the parking lot been falling apart. Horrible !!! The food preparation was Horrible! Not happy will not return until they clean it up and find the original value of thier business

First thing first, I don’t eat hot dogs, however I was talked into having hot gigs for lunch. The dog were budget hot dogs at budget prices , nothing special, oh yeah they only accept cash. Who caries cash. The area in front where you place your order is approximately 6 feet by 16 feet.

Almost 40 minutes waiting for 9 hot dogs. In which the hot dogs are no where near as good as they used to be. Just wish dog shack stayed the same. Too many switch ups and I personally am not impressed.

Called to place an order tonight and they didn’t tell me they only take cash, so I had to drive across town just to find that out. When I got back home and saw I had no cash here, I called to tell them I wouldn’t be coming back to pick up my order and suggested they tell people who call to place an order that they do only accept cash. Lady on the phone gave me a massive attitude saying that it says on their door they only accept cash. Hello! Obviously I can’t see a sign on your door if I’m calling to place an order from home. Dog shack will not be getting my business again.

My kids really liked it and my wallet was also very happy, but sadly it was generic to say the least. I got the works on my dogs but there was hardly any toppings on it. I honestly couldn't reccommend the place, not to mention that parking was very confusing.

Several things about the place just rubbed me the wrong way. First, it's cash only. I was going in with a bigger order and had to leave, find an atm and get the cash for it. Second, they don't have much flavor at all. They aren't bad, just no flavor. And third, no courtesy. Seemed to be miserable to take an order, make an order. Plus there can only fit about three ppl standing to wait for the food. It's take out and literally only three men can fit. I've tried it threw times(once for others) and won't be going again.

I don’t know why you guys post your hours publicly, your staff always closes the place down earlier then the hours posted. Lastnight, 11/24/19, I went there at 9:20 pm because I was starving, and the girl Ashley stared at my boyfriend and I through the window and walked into the back and ignored us. It seems every time I get out of work and go here to get food they are closed earlier. Very disappointing especially when you want something and have to go elsewhere to spend your money. Either fix your hours or tell your staff to stop closing early!! 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ve been coming here ever since I was a child and have always loved the food, it really is of great quality. However, tonight I had the worst experience I’ve had at a food establishment for a long time. Me and my girlfriend checked Google for what time the Dog Shack closed and it said 10:30 pm for the night that we visited. We arrived at about 9:10 pm and the lady behind the counter told us in a very annoyed tone of voice that they were closed. My girlfriend brought up the result on Google and the lady said she didn’t care what it said and that they closed at 9 pm. This was extremely unprofessional of the lady to turn us away like that. If she had been nice about it, it wouldn’t have been a problem. It’s unfortunate that this happened because, like I said, I’ve always enjoyed the food here, but if I’m going to be treated like that due to a misunderstanding then I won’t be taking my business back here.

Poor quality hot dogs, if they make a mistake they won't make it right. Mandy's have much better with homemade rolls. Much better quality as well.

This place is a severe health hazard. Yesterday I went to pick up some hotdogs and the lady grabbed a white hotdog. Didnt realize hot dogs were white. Then when she grabbed that there was a bundle of hair on her finger that she grabbed out of the pan with nasty hot dogs in it. It literally looked like hair from a drain absolutely disgusting. The sauce looked like it was from weeks ago runny and nasty. I do not recommend this place. You have been warned!!

Over rated. Hot dogs are nothing special, can buy a higher quality hot dog at the grocery store. French fries that had a slightly frozen taste. Nothing here really stood out to make it a 4+ star establishment. None of the toppings were anything extraordinary. There are better places in the area for a similar price.

This used to be a place you could grab a quick bite to eat without spending an arm and a leg. Now their prices are so high, I won't be coming back. $15 for cheesy fries & 3 plain hotdogs... Absolutely ridiculous considering they're not using quality ingredients. Service was quick but since the dogs sit there spinning for who knows how long, & are never fresh made, that's not too hard. Container of cheesy fries wasnt even filled to the top. Will not be going back.
