Recently, I’ve been loving this hidden gem of a restaurant! I really enjoy the cozy Japanese ambiance—it’s very comfortable. The staff is incredibly friendly and gave us great recommendations that turned out to be delightful surprises. I especially love the tonkotsu ramen; the broth is rich and flavorful, and even the kids enjoyed it. We also ordered the Ginza sushi—the sashimi was incredibly fresh, and the presentation was beautifully done. This is definitely a place I’ll keep coming back to!
Kopan Sushi and Ramen can't do no wrong. I've been coming here for the last 8 years and they have been adding amazing good along the way. They now have adding so many new items that you'll have a little bit of everything. The ambiance and decor is excellent, it makes you feel like you are in Japan. The service is great and fast.
This spot in Fullerton is super close to CSUF, and honestly feels like a second cafeteria for students. The prices are super budget-friendly, the menu has a ton of options, and the flavor is consistently good. The vibe is very much like a retro-style Japanese izakaya. Came here with some friends and ordered a table full of shareable dishes—everything was solid: Bento Box You can choose two or three mains—I got takoyaki, Korean beef, and teriyaki chicken. It comes with rice, miso soup, and salad. Generous portions! The chicken was tender and flavorful, beef on the sweeter side but not too much, and the takoyaki had bonito flakes which added a great touch. Negitoro Rice Bowl + Uni This was super Japanese in style. The toro was finely chopped and creamy, mixed with green onions and uni. Best eaten wrapped in nori—rich, fresh, and melt-in-your-mouth. Tokyo Roll Spicy tuna and cucumber inside, topped with spicy albacore, avocado, and crispy onions. The sauce is a mix of spicy yuzu ponzu, eel sauce, and spicy mayo. Flavor-packed but well-balanced. Baked Scallop California Roll A classic California roll base topped with baked scallops, slightly charred, with mentaiko sauce and eel sauce. Hot, savory, and comforting. Grilled King Crab Bites Crunchy base with a heap of crab meat on top—clean flavor and great for sharing. Salmon Tartare Finely chopped salmon mixed with sauce, served with crackers. Refreshing and a nice appetizer. Spicy Lemon Grilled Octopus Crispy skin, super tender octopus, and a tangy spicy sauce that really stands out.
Taste :4.5/5 Environment: 4.5/5 Service:4.5/5 Even though it’s called a ramen shop, Kopan Sushi & Ramen honestly feels more like a cozy Japanese izakaya that's been hiding in plain sight. The whole place has serious izakaya vibes — warm lighting, casual energy, and the kind of menu that makes you want to hang out all night. Bonus points: they even have a “buy a bottle, get one free” deal, which feels like a love letter to all the hardworking people who just need a drink (or two) after a long day. Some recommendations 💛Sesame Chicken – crispy, savory, and ridiculously addictive. 💛 King Crab Bites 💛 Chili Lime Tako – tender octopus with just the right kick. 💛 Yuzu Miso Black Snapper Crudo bright, refreshing, and full of flavor. 💛 toro Donburi fresh salmon over rice with a citrusy pop. 💛 Hotate Crudo – Scallop with Caviar– rich, delicate, and basically impossible to resist. 💛Ginza sushi platter is the showstopper here — colorful, eye-catching
The spicy garlic edamame is so good and the rolls are amazing. The Ramen was delicious too. Over all the atmosphere was chill and it wasn't too busy when we got here. I'm sad that I don't live closer because I would be here all the time. This is some of the best sushi I've had in a long time.
This Japanese Restaurant Is Absolutely Amazing! Recently, my friends and I visited an incredible Japanese restaurant, and the entire feast was beyond satisfying! As soon as the food arrived, it was a visual delight. The beautifully arranged sushi platter in a wooden box was a true work of art—each piece was a bite of happiness. From uni to salmon and botan shrimp, every bite was incredibly fresh, perfectly paired with wasabi and soy sauce for a burst of umami flavor. Beyond the sushi, the sashimi was another highlight. The yellow citrus dressing added a refreshing touch to the raw fish, complemented by microgreens and gold flakes, making it as stunning as it was delicious! The ramen options were equally impressive—crispy tonkatsu ramen with a rich broth and a spicy ramen with a mildly spicy soup base, topped with an onsen egg that added a comforting warmth to every bite. Of course, we couldn’t skip the Japanese side dishes and seafood rice bowls. The thick-cut sashimi covered the entire bowl, packed with the freshest ocean flavors. One unexpected favorite was the chilled cucumber and avocado salad—such a delightful surprise! Every dish was truly outstanding, and the cozy ambiance made it a perfect spot for gatherings or dates. Highly recommend this place to all Japanese food lovers—definitely a must-visit!
The food was very delicious! I got the salmon bowl and hamburg steak. The salmon and roe was fresh and the steak was rich. The restaurant feels cozy and authentic. The service was a little slow but they made up for it with a discount. The tonkotsu ramen was also really good.
Absolutely the best ramen I've had, I had the Kara Miso Ramen and its got a good spice factor. Every server is putting their 200% effort and genuinely care for their customers. Will definitely be coming here more often. Lovely interior design as well. Update December 14th, 2023: Very lively on a Thursday! Enjoyed their Korusawa sake and sesame chicken! Sake is buy one get the 2nd one half off so come after 8pm for that special! Food as always is delicious and the servers are incredibly kind. My always go to for ramen or just a good night!
Been here twice in the same month! I loved their tonkotsu ramen and their deep fried volcano sushi roll. I decided to try the spicy one the second time, but it’s not spicy at all. My cousin got chicken and wontons, she said they were both as good as well. Their first time there and said they’d go back. Also, everyone makes you feel welcomed!
I ordered the Chicken Curry, my fiancé ordered a rainbow roll and salmon sushi roll as they had a buy one get one 50% off the day we went, and we both shared the chicken sesame. All the food was super good, the curry comes out in a sizzling hot stone bowl and the sushi came out super quickly. 10/10 would come again and order the chicken curry or any one of their ramen options. For the food we ordered we paid about $58 and some change.
We were there last night to celebrate a family member’s birthday. We ordered Ebisu Sashimi 18 Pcs Cutlet Ramen, Kuro Mayu Ramen, Kara Miso Ramen, Senorita Roll, OMG Roll, Baked Green Mussel, Spicy Garlic Edamame, Salmon Roll, and The moon roll, they are super delicious and fresh! The only two orders that I don’t care for are the Crispy Scallop Roll and Popcorn Roll. Customer service was great. Highly recommended!!!
They've deviated from the traditional ramen to other Japanese food. Taste good and great service. They added additional traditional Japanese soup dishes like nabeyaki and sukiyaki.
I really loved the set up of the place. Today i tried the sushi very delicious i had the baked lobster roll which melts in your mouth. I also ordered a spicy tuna hand roll it was a hefty size and delicious. Unfortunately I ate them before getting a picture😅. I really enjoyed the environment. The staff were very friendly and attentive❤. Cant wait to try their Ramen on my next visit.
Every single time I come here to eat with my friends is always such a relaxing and amazing experience. Employees are so unbelievably kind, and the food is absolutely delicious. Sushi lovers must come here and anyone who is curious to try sushi/ramen for the first time. I highly recommend this place. Celebrated my birthday just yesterday, and I've never been happier since.
I'm not as big a fan of Kopan as I was in the past, but the quality of the broth is still there: rich and thick. Tried the Pork Cutlet as protein and it was awesome. Still a great bowl of ramen if you need a fix. Went during Lunch on the weekend and the service was slow despite it not being busy, so heads up on that.
The bento box meal was so good. The staff was really nice and helped us with the menu. Best place to eat in Cali- you won’t be disappointed. ❤️(also love the Godzilla posters!!)
So good!! Service is incredibly fast and polite. The food is superb. The ramen is excellent, the sushi is really good, thick slices of salmon sashimi, the rolls are very tasty, and everything served shockingly quick! Great tunes playing on the overheads, but not so loud that it detracts from the ambience. Great restaurant.
Kopan Ramen is an authentic but modern local chain that specializes in ramen but has a variety of options depending on location. The Fullerton location includes boba drinks and specialty sushi dishes that make for a great Japanese style meal for one, a couple, or small groups. I have included a picture of my favorite order: Kara Misu Ramen, Spicy w/ Fatty Pork and the Golden Tiger tempura roll! I recommend Kopan Ramen for dates and special occasions, or whenever a hot, savory noodle soup sounds good. There are some vegetarian options, including the Vegetable Ramen. The Fullerton location is busy during the weekend but not doing the regular week.
Kopan is my favorite ramen spot and the tonkatsu ramen (I usually get chicken but sometimes pork) is always on point. The sushi is great as well, especially the señorita roll. I love the little plaza this one is located in because it almost feels like a little corner of Japan. The waiters are all very nice too.
The beef and salad portion gets a 7/10. While flavorful, the sweetness felt a bit overpowering – almost candy-like. This is coming from someone familiar with Asian cuisine, having tried both Korean and Japanese takes on sweet dishes at various spots. As for the soup? A solid 10/10! It was light, well-balanced
Tucked into a quiet plaza near a karaoke bar, this ramen spot is easy to miss but a lifesaver on cold nights. The tonkotsu broth was thick and creamy, with a deep pork flavor that lingered perfectly. I got the spicy level 2—it was hot but not overwhelming. Gyoza were crisp on the outside, juicy inside. The vibe is calm and welcoming, perfect for solo diners
I always have such a good time whenever I'm here. The ramen is so delicious and flavorful. The sushi is fresh and they have fun options. The wait can be a little long, but definitely worth it. The restaurant is beautiful and the art on the walls is super cool. Th staff is super nice too!
Kopan ramen has been one of my go-to ramen places in OC. The staff is friendly and service is attentive. I only come here for ramen, drinks and some side dishes so I can't comment on the sushi. The menu has good prices. Overall this is an easy going place that's worth visiting
We called in a reservation like an hour or two before we came, the over the phone experience with that was so-so, not good, not bad. The experience at the restaurant more than made up for it. Dinner for 2. We were seated immediately. Appetizers and drinks were taken while we decided on our mains. Mains order taken and then our Appetizers arrived. Then shortly after we finished the Appetizers our food arrived. Everything was tasty and delicious. Usually when things come out this fast it raises suspicions but for Kopan, it just set a new standard for me. We were done with dinner in 45 minutes! FORTY FIVE. And not a single member of staff appeared to be rushing, they were just that good. 10/10.
What a great find! Went there at 9pm on Thursday and caught the late-night happy hour...some great bargains on food and drink. Arianna happily seated our party of 7 and we feasted on a variety of rolls, nigiri, sukiyaki, edimame, and soups. We also had Sapporos and up hot sake. Arian was an excellent waiter, attentive and knowledgeable. One of our party had diet restrictions and he accommodated in a very caring manner. Highly recommend, and we will be back!
Delicious creamy broth ramen. My favorite is the black garlic ramen. I like to get either chashu fried rice or gyoza for a side. My boyfriend likes the spicy miso. Dip the rice in the ramen broth for extra flavor!! I’ve also had their fried chicken for a meal & that’s delicious and filling if you’re looking for something even more salty, crunchy and bad for you lol. No regrets. And they have a stamp card type promotion!! Photo included is a bit out of date
Place is always a favourite to go to when am around! Love their Vegan option. Only thing I would like more would be if they gave a little more tofu with the Vegan dish. We get 2 strips 2x3x.5 Price seems fair for what you get though and I always leave with a full belly. It's very relaxing in there and the decor makes it seems as if you are outside a Japanese ramen stand. I like it a lot!
The best ramen I have had in this area recently. The broth in the Kara Miso Ramen was so well balanced, perfectly salted, and seasoned. The pork chakshu was the most tender I have ever had. The Bento box my husband ordered was plenty variety. Miso soup was good and so was the salad. The sushi was soft, fish fresh and sweet. Quantity, quantity, flavor, service. Full points on everything.
The ramen choices are 4 which keeps it simple but super effective. The service has never been below exceptional. We even got free beer more than once just because we're good tippers and we're always great customers. All you have to do is show up, smile and enjoy yourself with the best ramen OC has to offer.
Took my boyfriend to ramen for his first time And he loved it 🫶 was able to walk right in get seated and order immediately . Food amazing as always , it was nice we could take home the rest.
Simple. Satisfying. Sacramental. Kopan keeps it simple and delicious. Menu is easily customizable and straightforward. Service has always been above par for me and my guests (tonight we had David who was attentive and quick). Parking can sometimes be a challenge if you come during peak hours. I highly recommend this downtown Fullerton hot spot!
I found Kopan Ramen via UberEats and finally got a visit to their store. If you ever want ramen via Uber, get UberEats!! They package your food well. They have great selection of Ramen and their prices are decent ($10-$12 with tax) You get to choose a small bowl or large bowl, pick your spicy level (to me Spicy was...SPICY) , choose your proteins, and you can add additional options at the end for little more charge. I ordered large bowl, spicy, chashu (pork belly) and optional Fatty pork to put the icying on top...mMMMm...i have tried the Kopan several times, and it never let me down. They have a private parking lot for free and its easily accessible to the public. I will come back for one of the best RAMEN in Orange County! Good job Kopan for keeping up with your work!
One of the best ramen I've had in the OC. Both fullerton and GG locations. Would recommend any time. Sushi, good. Ramen, good.
The music was amazing! Haha. I went on a weekday evening and got seated within ten minutes. Cleanliness: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5 Food: 5 Staff: 5 Total: 5/5 would recommend. They were out of albacore and yellowtail belly but their tamago was delicious as well. Their noodle style isn’t my favorite but their broth really makes the ramen. Also music was AMAZING. Had to ask the staff for their playlist and they were super sweet about it.
Service is top notch and the food.... oh the food. I will have to leave a review to do it justice but it will be hard. I will need to edit this but for now know.... the sushi is among the freshest most delicious you'll ever get stateside. The rice is an important ingredient to sushi and let me tell you, perfect rice. Not NEAR perfect, PERFECT RICE! The ramen is insanely rich and delicious. The noodles perfect. Crispy rice is wonderfully, gyoza is crisp and chewy, I mean cmon. This place is insane and deserves an elusive 5 stars. Ive been coming here for years now and its always good but tonight's was on a whole new level with the addition of sushi and having it be grade A best of the best sushi. Do kot hesitate, come here and enjoy some seriously delicious food
This Ramen spot Is amazing. It brings me back to the 80s and the little hidden gems 💎 that are around your neighborhood. It's a great spot for a first date or a place to bring your family and friends. It'll create a little moment to remember. The service is amazing (Eros) special thanks to him he was working Wednesday 03/15th/2023 around 4:40pm that day he really is a great waiter and a good person. You can just tell but honestly they don't make em like him anymore. They really don't thanks Kopan ramen.
Wow. I'm not a huge Ramen person, but this place changed my mind! Not only was it delicious and fresh but I was able to add a number of items to my ramen to personalize it. They had garlic and crunchy garlic and many others that made it the way I like it. The service was top notch and after every customer left the tables were cleaned thoroughly. I appreciated this! I highly recommend this place.
We've been going to Kopan for the longest time. The broth of their ramen is the best... in my honest opinion! We've tried other ramen places and we still find ourselves coming and ordering here at Kopan. We're lucky that they have several branches and when we know we're close to one, we're there.
If seated in the patio area, customers tend to be forgotten. Need to go over to the main restaurant to grab someone to take our orders. Other than that, food was good. Price is medium to high due to cuisine.
Delicious sushi with an extensive menu in the heart of Downtown Fullerton! The ambience was creative and casual. Right in the middle of all the shops and bars. The food was flavorful and the prices were fair, they had some good deals like buy a roll get one half off, buy one hot sake and get a second for .99cents. Its a lowkey local spot but feels like you’re somewhere in Japan. So much to choose from menu wise, cold food, hot food…Yumminess for days!
The place looks rad with Japanese decor and Japanese pop culture. Ramen at the shop I didn't enjoy as much as the other ramen shops I've been to for starters I only got HALF the egg 2 the egg isn't seasoned and 3 the yolk is not runny like it should. The pork chasu needs to have a sear and well define sear for that matter. The broth is thick, creamy, and fatty if that's how you like it you'll enjoy the bowl. Tempura and sushi were fine.
Stopped by with a client who wanted to eat here. The broth for the Ramen is Pork based, so those who can't have pork, be advised. I went with Okinawa Sushi plate and it was good. Also had the squid balls which were very good.
Food was very good. I had a bento box chicken terriyaki and beef bulgari was awesome, everyone else has sushi. Said it was very good! (I can't have fish)but this place was good!
My friend and I have been coming to Kopan Ramen since they first opened up. It's been almost 2 years since I've been back because I lived in another state for that time so today was our first time back. We were very disappointed to find out they changed the tonkatsu ramen broth. We would come here specifically for the broth. We were told that they changed the recipe. We could definitely tell. It was very bland and very watery. Almost tasted like a milk/water combo. We were not fans. I feel like every time I come here now it's never the same. They changed the noodles twice now and now the broth. Just keep things how they were!
I'm more of a pho guy but this place is bomb. The Ramen is really good and the sushi is on point. Their ginger taste really good too. It gets 4 stars because I wasn't aware that they charge and upfront 18% gratitude tip charge and I had already tipped them. I don't think restaurants are allowed to do that.
Quick service with reasonable prices and large portions. Ramen selection and quality is good. There is a wide selection of appetizers and they're all pretty good. Location is in downtown Fullerton so it's always busy around there. I believe they share a space with Its Boba Time because you can order drinks from their menu when you sit down here. Overall a good experience.
The food was delicious, the prices were reasonable, the facility is lovely, and the staff was very polite. It seems typically busy and parking is an absolute hassle (but it is shared and free). The ramen was fantastic, but the fried squid tentacles were tough and only tasted like breading (though it was tasty).
decent food for a fair price. cute outdoor seatings, safe protocols, and attentive service. this restaurant is located at the heart of DTF. Plenty of parking spaces, given if the plaza isn't busy. i really liked that they take temperatures & sanitize your hand prior to sitting you. the outdoor patio dining is open with a very cute set up. each dining table has partition to make you feel safe. the utensils are one-time use prepackaged for extra measures. the menu has a lot to offer. i went with the miso ramen which was good, but leans towards average. unfortunately, they didn't offer additional spice bombs or sauce. the soup base is on the saltier end and feels too creamy/heavy to drink. the chasu is very average. my only complaint is when we asked for the noodles to be cooked firm then another for extra soft, they came out exactly the same. i do really like their spicy garlic edamame; it's stirred fried for an extra kick! overall, with drinks, appetizers, and ramen/entree expect to pay $25-30 per person. i would recommend if you're in the area, but nothing to drive out of your way for.
Plating presentation nice, decor and atmosphere great. Food food, prefer sauces have a tad more flavor. Tempura sauce was ok. Tempura served ni e and hot.
Amazing place for ramen!! I love how they let you choose your toppings and add extra. Appetizers are super good except they give you so little, but maybe that's a tactic they do becuase it makes you want to buy more. First time going there and definitely going back, I recommend this place for anyone trying ramen for the first time.
Ambiance of this restaurant during the afternoon time is wonderful. Well decorated place. I had trouble finding it a bit because there was kopan ramen at the restaurant next to it. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen, spicy, chashu, and an egg. The spiciness was just perfect, chashu was tender, and the egg was soft-boiled which tasted wonderful. The eggs came out a little hard so I had to just wait for the soup to cook it. The reason I'm giving it a 4 stars is because the service wasnt amazing.
very tasty, fast service.. didn’t order sushi because that was a 20 min wait but what we did order was very flavorful.. definitely will go again and just in case there is a wait time don’t forget to check in on yelp for faster seating. right now with the pandemic there is outdoor seating so with the weather being cold soup is perfect.
Food is tasty but tempura was soggy rather than crispy.
I like how they are open late during this pandemic. The interior of this restaurant is great with nice decor with ambient lighting. Ramen broth and noodles are good but I was a bit disappointed that their chasiu (pork belly cut) was stale and tasted old & chewy. Also, the Takoyaki needs more octopus tentacle bits in each for a better and chewier texture. Kopan in Alhambra and Monterey Park is better in my opinion.
I love coming here as there is always space for any size party. The food is always a 10/10 and the service today was mediocre but it's usually good or better (3.5-5.0). You won't regret coming here tonight.
This place looks great and the food is well prepared. This place, though no fault of theirs, gets a lot of beggars going table to table asking for money. The servers try to ask them to leave but still some manages to go back in. Besides that, I thought their ramen was good enough as the broth elevates it. I also ordered the garlic string beans but I wasn't anticipating it to be spicy lol. It was a bit on the raw side still so it was harder to chew. The flavor was good though. The servers are nice and they try to accommodate everyone even though they are understaffed.
Great place. It was my first time actually getting Ramen, and it was quite enjoyable. The broth itself is quite nice. Spicy wasn't too spicy for me, so if you want spice, get extra spicy. As a person with a mostly spicy pallette, I wish it was a tad bit stronger, but the taste was superb, so I can't deny that it still tasted great nonetheless The fatty pork was not too strong to be honest. I suggest choosing either the Pork Belly or the Chicken. I wasn't a huge fan of it, but keep in mind, that's probably because I don't prefer pork anyways. It felt too slimy and it just didn't go well with the rest of the soup. Service itself is great, the staff should just smile here and there more, and get a little personal if possible. I went when it was busy, so it was understandable why they were everywhere, but still very good service. They care about the customer Overall, I would recommend coming here. Fried Tentacles is very delicious if you want a recommendation for a side. If you are iffy about coming, they have a Lunch special Monday through Friday ($10-$13), so I suggest coming during that time. Great place, will come back again soon
The sushi that I ate was excellent. Top notch even for the price. The roll that I bought at first was much too spicy. It took us about 10-15 minutes to flag someone down so I could order something else. It seems like everyone works hard there except the table tenders. Very forgetful about who had what dish and nearly gave one of our dishes to a completely different table. Upsetting with the quality and price of the food that they offer.
Updating my old review and 5 star rating because I went there today and things have changed! So first they give us a sheet of paper for our order, which is fine I guess. We ordered garlic edamame but got this new spicy version of it but it was really good. Then they almost forgot my toppings for my Ramen but I let them know and I got them. I'm not picky about that stuff but I noticed that they are understaffed? I'm a little worried that they might have let some employees go. The service was terrible. I didn't see anyone around to refill my water until they gave us the bill. They also forgot my boyfriend's ice tea. We just let them know it was still on the bill and they changed it. The service use to be really good and I really love going here. But if they fired some people bring them back! They were good! I did notice that they are going to be opening the patio on the chomp side to join forces or something. So hopefully the missing employees are doing some extra training and they'll be back. I'll be happy to change my review if that's the case.
For years this used to be one of our favorite ramen places to go. Recently they changed their menu, and evidently their ingredients too. The classic, delicious, rich broth is slightly different, sweeter, and not as good. They used to have good quality meat, they don't any more. I couldn't finish my pork because it was so bad, tough, rubbery, and felt like it came from a can. Even their eggs are different and worse. Very sad to see this happen, it would take a lot to get me to come back again. Good news is, there isn't much of a wait anymore, seems most people feel the same as me.
Food was pretty good, weird that toppings come on the side??? Our order was messed up which makes no sense because we wrote down the order!!!????????? Service was pretty good and speedy, clean place. We had a good time up to the point where we tried to split our bill and they took a million years to split a bill in two ways. We literally had to help the cashier navigate the POS because she just couldn’t do it and the server couldn’t remember what we ordered. Super cute lil place inside though!
The quality of the meat, particularly the chashu, is just not the same as it used to be. It seems to only an issue at this Kopan, as whenever I order from the Whittier Kopan the meat is phenomenal. Sorry, I love you guys and you seem to be giving extra meat to compensate, but the quality is much lower.
Extremely average food, but pretty interior and surrounding area. I would never come back here again for food, just because there are better ways to spend $63.76. The prices were very expensive to just have Yellowtail sashimi, scallops, and the Tonkatsu plate + a coke. Fantastic sushi does not need to be expensive, and it’s hard to come by. Do not come here looking for great tasting healthy sushi, since their’s is not very flavorful and really oily. The Tonkatsu was pretty good, though. But the whole experience did not warrant returning.
Casual and cozy spot for ramen. Not too crowded and service was friendly. Food was just OK. Would recommend the spicy miso ramen, but the other ones weren't that flavorful. Rolls were very cold.. rice and fish didn't seem that fresh. Overall it's an OK spot for quick lunch, but there are some better ramen and sushi spots in the area.
I just moved here and wanted to enjoy a nice hot bowl of ramen on the 1st rainy day in fall. I entered dripping and waited 3-4 minutes next to a sign that said wait to be seated. 3 out of 12 tables were occupied and eating but I eventually went to a sushi chef to check in. They said find a seat. At a table, I eventually was greeted, handed a menu and ordered crispy rice, their signature bowl of ramen and a beer and asked it all come out together. A water was followed with the beer which was fine but then immediately served my bowl of ramen. Hungry, I dug in hoping for the crispy rice to follow as that is what I wanted to eat first. The ramen looked nice but it tasted soulless and commercial. I tried took push past the cold ingredients but again, I was hungry so that was easy to do (the broth warm, not hot.) Half way through my bowl I asked about the crispy rice and it was brought to me after. It was decent for what it was. Overall, I get it. I was 20 once not carrying about my job and how I performed but food service comes with the territory that people come in to be comforted with some nice service and good food. Neither was had here. I was served my receipt with a small apology and left. I do plan on coming back as I get recommendations from people and maybe I ordered the wrong things. But, if this is how a slow time was then I'm not too confident on how a dinner service will turn out.
This rating is based on the vegan ramen only. The broth is bland, the vegetables are barely cooked, and the noodles are below average. This dish was so poorly executed I question the rest of the menu. Some of the servers are great, others not so much. The interior does have a really cool vibe, but I don’t think I would come back here again.
My name's Joshua. I came and ordered the Fried Baby Octopus, the Takoyaki and the two things of ramen. I'M VERY disappointed with the ramen on both those orders! Ramen is SUPPOSED TO BE LOOSE and enjoyable, not hard, inseparable and difficult to eat. It feels like a couple day old spaghetti Alfredo! I'm never trying the ramen again!! I came for good food and the only thing that was good was the appetizers! I came all the way from New Jersey and the ramen disappointed me.
Ramen is trash, rolls were good not great, spicy edamame was good not great, I’m truly disappointed. I’ve had kopan in the past and always thought they weren’t that good even though they were popular so I thought I was inexperienced or something with ramen, but years later I gave them a shot again after having experienced many ramen spots and I still agree with my early ramen days that this place is not good. Their noodles, broth, and spice is all 👎 I do not recommend
I want to make it clear by saying my intention is not to harm but to provide constructive feedback. Today's visit to Kopan Sushi and Ramen was a mix of positive and disappointing experiences. The positive aspects included the welcoming and efficient waitstaff, consistent with what I have come to expect from them. However, the food quality did not meet the same standards I remembered from my visit six months ago. The baked mussels were disappointing, being undercooked and not prepared properly, a stark contrast to the excellent versions served at the restaurant next door. The ramen also did not live up to expectations, with lackluster ingredients and chicken that unfortunately had an off-putting smell, leading to some stomach ache after the meal. I'm hopeful that the restaurant will take this feedback to heart and I look forward to a more fun visits in the future.
The service was great! But there were a lot of things wrong. For instance, my friend ordered miso soup as a side. $5 for a lil bowl of miso soup with no tofu or seaweed is CRAZY. It was just green onions???? So we asked for tofu and seaweed to be added to our miso soup, and the servers were kind enough to bring those to us. The amount of food seemed very skimped out for the price of the meals, small portions. Other than that, the food was good.
The food was enjoyable, but the service fell way below expectations during my visit with a friend. We were given only one set of utensils and napkins, having to request additional ones. Getting water took longer than the meal itself, requiring several reminders. Despite both of us ordering sushi, we had to ask for soy tray and recieved only one, prompting another request. It felt as though the staff only acknowledged one of us. Furthermore, after asking three times, the miso soup arrived when we had already finished our meal. It seems the owner needs to focus on training their servers, as they play a crucial role in shaping the restaurant experience.
Sushi nigiri rice was really hard; it was undercooked—I thought I was chewing some sands (knowing the rice is the most important for nigiri to experience the fish to the fullest, This place didn’t have much professionalism). Their service was also inattentive. And this one male Asian sever had an attitude which was too displeasing enough for us to enjoy our dinner. It was my second time but first to try my fav—nigiri—but I’m definitely not coming back here despite being super close to my house. We still got a 10% off when we addressed this critical issue, but knowing that we still had to pay 90% for this ridiculous “sand sushi,” we were pretty unhappy.
